First Impressions

Haru's eyes slowly started to open, it always took so much willpower to get out of bed in the morning. It took a few seconds for his sight to come into focus, his eyes becoming wider and clear. With a grunt the Chuunin slowly pushed himself upwards by his elbows. The sunlight creeping in through the small window of his apartment. Hishikawa slowly got on his feet. Tea in hand he gazed out the window onto the hollowed out mountains of central Kumogakure, early morning was definitely the most beautiful time of day, it felt almost clandestine seeing the village without the usual hustle and bustle.

"Time to face the day, I suppose" He whispered tiredly to himself as he ran his fingers through his ashy blonde hair. The young shinobi stretched his arms and spine before sluggishly getting dressed, although he felt much more awake now he had his morning brew. Glancing at his alarm it seemed for the first time in his life, Haru might actually be on time. The Chuunin had been informed he'd be working with a genin at some point in the near future. "Atsushi,Hideki" he said reading the paper work on his lap, memorizing the name as to not be impolite. Truthfully he had been given little information on this shinobi's background and abilities, so he thought it would be a good idea to meet him first.

Hitukawa strolled through the pathways of the village in no particular hurry, it was starting to get more lively now although Kumogakure could hardly be described as densely populated. Stopping outside the academy where it was agreed the two would meet. The chuunin was used to socialising with genin and academy students having worked as an instructor for a few years, although he didn't remember teaching any students called 'Atsuchi Hideki'. Either way Haru was fairly confident this would go smoothly. Leaning against the wall he let out a long sigh, getting up this early was rarely a good idea.

Kumogakure in the morning had an atmosphere that slightly disturbed the young genin currently training on the roof of his residence which also served as the place where his mother and grandfather worked their weapon’s shop. The young male was currently sitting crossed leg after having finished his morning training routine, while it was nothing to draw a sweat from it was more of a way for him to wake himself up. This Hideki found far more relaxing than anything else, though he better get a move on as he had to meet someone...What was their name again?

”Haru right...Maybe it’s a good looking girl...Better make a good impression!” Hideki said as he wall walked back into his room window and then got ready before finally dashing out of his house in a jog. He jogged the whole way toward the academy before realizing that he was now a whole hour and a half early and sighed. Well at least he didn’t have to worry about making a good impression, this was about as anti-tardy as you could get.

’Wait what if this Haru’s a guy? Well not like I’ve met any girls named Haru, there has to be a first time for everything right?’ Hideki thought to himself as he stood in one of the larger training grounds wasting time, he sat on the corner of a tree holding himself there using the tree climbing method. The young man tapped on the bottom of his chin as the appointment time came closer and decided that it’d be a good time to walk toward the gates of the so called shinobi academy and wait for the person he was supposed to be meeting.

The boy hopped past the gates and looked around for what could be a sexy lady of some sort, or maybe she was more on the cute side...Seeing it was around the time he was supposed to meet this Haru; Hideki’s eyes only laid themselves on an older male with blonde hair, a shinobi just like him. Maybe this guy had seen the cute girl named Haru, or whatever. ”Hey! You seen a cute girl around here, goes by Haru...Supposed to meet them around this time…” Because there was simply no way with Hide’s optimism that Haru could be something other than a cute girl right now. ”Unless you’re a girl who’s under henge…”

Haru yawned up at the sky hoping the sun could burn some extra clarity into his eye sockets, he noticed a kid turn the corner past the gate,with a look on his face as if he was either lost or looking for something, the kid was probably around ten or eleven but judging by the forehead protector on his arm he was probably the Genin he had opted to meet. Haru always felt a bit anxious meeting new people, even if it was just some kid.

"sorry to disappoint you" the chuunin said in an exasperated chuckle "but that's me" recoiling slightly at the suggestion that he was a 'cute girl' in disguise, how old was this kid again? "Hideki, right? I take it they didn't fill you in on much either, I swear they never tell me anything other than the bare minimum" The chuunin leaned ever so slightly and extended his hand for a handshake."I thought seeing as we'll be working together, it's probably best to get midly aquainted, maybe even spar if you're up for it ? "

Hideki looked up and down at the male who he had just aimed his list of queries at suspiciously, before sighing. ”Guess I’ll never meet a girl Haru huh…” He said more aimed at himself. The young male quickly flipped over into his signature grin. ”Oh well this is kinda cool too. Yeah they don’t really say much, though I barely paid attention to anything anyway…” He said as he laughed sheepishly while rubbing the back of his head. The pre-teen took another careful look at his to be partner? Workmate, well whatever Haru was to be didn’t really matter in the kid’s mind.

Hideki seeing the invitation to shake hands accepted and gave his idea of a firm grip, his grin turning to somewhat of a cocky smirk as he began to talk. ”A spar’d be great though I don’t think you’d be able to keep up completely heh.” He said with a teasing smile, he loved any possibly chance to go up and show his skill against a fellow opponent friendly or otherwise. ”Guess we should go into a training ground then, lets find one of the bigger ones so we can let loose.” Hideki said, though letting loose wouldn’t even be that dangerous given the size of the bigger training grounds, plus his partner was most likely stronger than he was.

This didn’t stop the teen as without pause he ran toward the nearest training ground and after checking his size he nodded in appreciation. On the assumption that his opponent was also at the current training ground Hideki digged deep to pull out the cockiest smirk he could surmise at that moment. ”Lets see if you can even scratch me…” The teen said as he looked toward Haru.
