Weird Times at Kumogakure General

Despite being unconscious, Tenteki's body felt like it was on fire. Unable to scream, unable to communicate or even process it, his brain and body knew only one thing: pain.

Tenteki wouldn't know where he was, and while he had offered himself as sacrifice, he had been knocked out of consciousness faster than he had to process that he was being used as the sacrifice. His body was going to simply serve as a temporary container for a beast of unimaginable magnitude. It would destroy him, everyone knew it, but they were transporting his body to the hospital to stabilize him as long as they could in hopes of finding a more fitting candidate. Tenteki did have some advantages, first his body was adept to entering stasis as a part of his unique skillset. If the medics could manage to induce it, he'd be able to last longer by everything being put on hold for some period of time. Additionally, he was a birthright performer of Shizumeru, meaning he had a genetic predisposition for it. His body was often entangled in spiritual chakra, meaning the genma would deteriorate him at a slightly slower rate. These things would work to the advantage of the village, even if it did mean his pain would last far longer.

They had managed to get him into the hospital room before anything strane had started happening. It was almost as if the moment he touched the hospital bed he started acting up. He had seized a few times, convulsions and vomitus, but otherwise he was also emitting massive amounts of chakra, in waves, flares and bursts through the room. Various techniques had been set up to protect the other occupants of the hospital, but once he was in the room there was really nothing to do but let his body flounder and fight against its new occupants.

Then suddenly Tenteki roused to consciousness.

Or so he thought.

He became instantly aware that he was in a hospital room, and only an instant later realized that he was not in the hospital room where he was supposed to. Instead he stood in a desert, the ground cracked a dry, a dark sky reaching over him with clouds moving at hurricane speeds despite there being no wind. He was weirdly cold, despite the air feeling somewhat hot against his skin. There was no life in sight, no trees or bushes.

Looking around him, Tenteki didn't know what to do...so he walked through the desert in his mind...looking for....whatever he was here for.

Weird Times at Kumogakure General

It had been a rather trying night. A routine that had been done for centuries had gone wrong- something not too uncommon, but as a result manygood men had perished and each of them had been under Hayate's command. In many ways, he had felt that he had failed them, after all the Raikage had always held a deep sense of responsibility for his subordinates. What would he say to the families? To the wives, the husbands, the children? They all knew the risk their shinobi family held but... they would all be broken the same. They always were... but there was no time to consider this now, for while on the precipice of darkness there was one light in the distant.

Despite the horrors of the night a new shining star emerged above Kumogakure- a new and unlikely hero, Tenteki. Less than a day ago Hayate knew remotely nothing of the man, and today, he owed him his life. Tenteki, despite being just a Jounin, showed command and above all dedication to the mission. He had been willing to sacrifice himself not just once, but twice now, and because of that the dead would have to wait.

Hayate would not let Tenteki perish. They would be up against all odds, but he had a strange feeling about the man- that he was destined for more.
The desert was truly like no other. The more Tenteki would walk, the more oddities he would find. Swirling vortexes with no wind- rock floating in the air, the gravity itself feeling off. The more he would walk, the more eerie the scene would become. It was if the elements of the human world he knew no longer followed their rules- driven to their extremes. Time itself would seem unmoving, despite the moving of the world around him.

"You will not last very much longer."

An eerie voice called out.

There was a weird dichotomy occuring in Tenteki's consciousness. He was very much aware that whereever he was was not where he was. He knew he was in the hospital. He could see the room around him, the Raikage standing off in the distance of the room but seemingly very much present at his side, the doctors hustling around the room, the other Tenkujutsu users muttering to themselves about how to handle the pulses of Tenkuchakra flying from his body intermittently. And yet he was here, in this world that seemed surreal, and yet very real at the same time. Which was reality? It felt obvious that the hospital room was the true world, but the strange desert he was in felt far more...present.

Then he heard the voice, and his eyes shot around, inspecting the air and ground looking for it source to no avail.

"Perhaps.", he responded. His frown betrayed the confidence he tried to project in his voice. It was coming back to him, everything that had happened. And he realized quickly that he was in a genma realm. They had actually sealed him. And this mindscape was where the Genma had chosen to project Tenteki into. Strange.

"Or perhaps, Hyoemnu, I'm your new master.", master was a very loose term. Tenteki knew that through his experiences with the genma that master wasn't an entirely accurately reflection of the relationship a host shared with their genma. But, if they were going to be bound together for any period of time, Tenteki would have to convince the genma that their relationship was not going to be one where the genma had the advantage. Tenteki had the advantage here in this case, simply because he had been dealing with genma for some length of time and knew how they could behave, even Hyeomnu this was not his first time speakin with the beast. Perhaps their repitiore would work to his advantage, Hyeomnu, after all, knew Tenteki as the man that was often used to restrict his takeover of a host.

Weird Times at Kumogakure General

The staff still scurried about the room, various sealing experts, Iijutsu specialists, and folks of all sorts doing everything they could to prolong the Jounin's life. Hayate sat in the corner, silent but vigilant.

It's incredible he has survived this long... could it be?
Hyoenmu was watching the young man, though had still yet to show himself. Beyond his ominous voice, there was nothing for Tenteki to see, though he likely knew how the Genma looked due to their previous encounter. Hyoenmu observed as the human frowned and looked about- he had only just figured out where he was, though, it was still surprising he had made it this far.

For now Hyoenmu would play with him.

"You can think what you want, human, but either way it means very little in the end." the Genma scoffed. "It is all meaningless, because we are but pawns to greater things. If not another genma for me, then pawns to the fruitless endeavors of man. They always seek to use me- the host- us, but it always ends the same." the Genma said as it began to materialize before Tenteki.

"It is by your hand that I was often ripped and force from useless vessel to vessel, so, even if it is meaningless in the end and the process is only to repeat, why not kill you and have a little fun first?" the genma said with a chuckle.

It was massive and black- and empty hole where it's face and forehead and eyes should be- and an oddly dark halo as if made from wires and thorns. It held a large sword in it's hand, and behind it were massive black wings that flapped furiously.

"It really is just so painful- this existence of mine. Lonely really."

The tone of the beast seemed very insincere and the conversation beyond odd.

As the genma continued to talk, Tenteki decided to sit on the ground. This wasn't his real body, but the exhaustion could still be felt, and he wasn't super comfortable. Digging his hands into the dirt, he leaned backwards, looking up at the strange sky, listening to the complaints of a multi-millenia old chakra beast. This being was one of the strongest beings in the realm of existence and here it was complaining about being used. What a strange reality he lived in. Frowning, Tenteki couldn't help but roll his eyes, "Come on you can't be serious.", something about the genma's whinging made him far less intimidating, even as he made his presence known and towered over Tenteki's body.

"Next you're going to say you just wish you could be free? Or what do they say in the stories...you wish you were a real boy?", Tenteki's previous lack of confidence was being overtaken by the humor he found in the situation.

"You know all the time I've spent with your previous hosts and none of them mentioned you were such a miser. What do you expect to happen when every time you get out you rampage about doing all this nonsense? Look what you've done. I'm going to go and die and Kumogakure has lost one of it's best Tenkujutsu users. And you're upset youre sealed? We choose our own fates buddy.", he shrugged his shoulders, looking the genma over. He was quite a beast, he felt safe enough here that he could really get a look at the genma, something he couldn't do previously.

The genma was intrigued to see Tenteki relax. Most were cowered in fear at this point- completely unaware of what was going on. As expected of a tenkujutsu specialist however, Tenteki was calm. He knew where he was and exactly what was going on, and he also knew that the seal probably protected him at least somewhat and would disallow the beast from harming him in this space. His frankness was even more shocking.

"Oh, I have met humans even more powerful than you, your Raikage, and multiple sealing squadrons combined. You are but an ant in the eons of history I have seen." the beast huffed, in an anger filled toned back at the young man who had just disrespected him. This human was particularly annoying, but at the same time, very interesting.

"Did you ever think we want to rampage? It is a side-effect of a seal weakening or breaking. Our chakra is scrambled and pulled in every which way and our minds warp." the beast said looking down to the man. The Genma sat down, cross-legged, revealing it's full and rather human-like form as it's head peered over to Tenteki.

"I wonder how your body's doing in the physical realm. I am sure you've realized you do not have much time till my power overloads it and you fry, or your flesh is eaten rapidly from inside out by sankaton, or maybe the minerals in your body become like bullets as magnetic forces push it inside out... so many ways you might go out with my chakra."

The beast seemed perfectly content with waiting.

Well, in reality there was not much he could do.
