Meeting the Raikage for Noods

Post by Kanade » Tue Jul 12, 2022 7:05 pm

Chiaki had thought over what the Raikage had said during their sparring session, and decided that it was time to take him out for noodles in order to properly thank him for the help that he had been. She dressed herself in a long flowing electric blue skirt with a cinched high under-bust waist. Tucked into it was a grey blouse that respected her curves but also let her skin show as it had a low neck and almost no back to speak of. She had decided to wear her hair down, and had parted it so that only one eye was visible with her hair parted so that that side of her face was obscured. Wearing heels, she clicked her way through the streets until she came to the noodle place.

The noodle place was called "Saikō no men" and as she ducked into the door, she realized why it was called that. The place didn't have an empty seat at all. She had made a reservation at the time of her training with the Raikage because she had been turned away at the door for a six hour wait at three o'clock in the afternoon on a Tuesday, but this was still more than she could imagine it being on a Wednesday evening when the sun was touching the horizon of the peaks that surrounded Kumogakure.

"I ah, yes, I have a reservation for two- Uh It's for Kyoukan, Chiaki." She nodded as the woman read her name back to her, and then bustled Chiaki to the third floor. The noodle house had live entertainment which was playing some soft rock and roll music below. The restaurant had 6 levels, each stacked on top of one another with the stage as a centerpiece for the establishment, and the floors being more of glorified balconies where the patrons of the noodle house were treated to live music for their entertainment while the bus-boys rushed around and gathered plates and orders, and generally tried not to disturb conversations.

The upper floors were a four hundred Ryo deposit, non-refundable, and Chiaki hadn't wanted to pay that much, but also didn't want the Raikage to think that she was poor, even if she was, and had splurged a little bit to get them a middle-floor table, overlooking the middle of the stage. She nervously tucked her hair behind her ear out of habit before she ran her fingers through her hair and parted it meticulously again, hiding her scar. She pulled up a seat and waited, her fingers finding that drumming against her clutch was a good stimulation.

Meeting the Raikage for Noods

As the Raikage made his way through the straights following behind Chiaki, he could not help but feel at ease. These were the streets that raised him- the streets where he found his first friends. The streets where he had his first fight. The streets where he had his first love, and his first heart break. Indeed, Kumo had shaped him in his formative years to be the man he was. He smiled as his mind played through the memories until finally, they came upon the restaurant that Chiaki had wanted to eat at. His eyes caught the sign on his way in.

Saikou no men

He chuckled softly to himself. The best noodles, eh? A little on the nose and boastful, but he liked the attitude and spirit. He'd also never been here before so he'd half to give it the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it was just a generational difference. As Chiaki spoke with the staff and they were guided through the large multi-level restaurant to their seats n the third floor, Hayate would taken the cacophony of senses. The smell of roasted pork- of the shoyu and miso broths. The sound of people slurping their noodles, of beer glasses colliding with hearty kanpais being said. This was his kind of establishment.

As the waiters sorted their tea and a menu, Hayate decided to break the nervous silence as Chiaki had begun to drum her fingers against her clutch.

"Is this place quite popular amongst your peers? I've never been but the smells alone tell a happy tale."
