To be the daughter not just one of the most legendary ninja to ever live was a tall order- and to make matters worse the other guy who was her "dad" was a legendary assassin and spymaster. To say she had immense pressure on her shoulders was likely to say the understatement of the century when it came to Mariya. If her dad was the fastest guy alive what was she supposed to be? She didn't really know who, but, she also was okay with taking time to figure that out. Regardless though, she needed to get faster.

If she wanted to make Jounin and become an elite agent to the village and a proper skyguard she would need to be capable of reacting faster to her opponents. Of dealing with them better. For this reason she was training with that unbelievable fool Ikarusu. He was so full of himself sometimes she just- ugh.

"Oi- watchout, I'mma about to fire a shot yea?" he said as he soared through the air and a massive beam of lightning ripped through the sky straight for Mariya. She was physically not exactly that powerful, and certainly not on Ikarusu's level, but with the sharingan she generally had a strong heads up to what was going to happen before it fully happened. That always helped her do a little better.

Dodging to the side just enough with her calculations to not get hit she rolled over and drew two kunai. She was capable of dodging but she needed to up her speed if she was going to counter-attack. So far, everytime Ikarausu struck she could see a two second window in which, that period of time, she would be very easily capable of striking him. The issue was to dodge took too long and that left her out of the needed seconds she needed to strike back. It was crazy. She resheathed her blades and got back into a ready position.

Ikarusu swooped down next to Mariya and this time aimed a kick for her. The trajectory of his flight path was clear. She put her arms up to brace against his kick, his leg slamming into her arms, and then instantly she moved springing to action to try and grab his leg. She grabbed onto the pants with all her might and grip but he was just a fraction faster in his kick off, flying through her arms as she stumbled forward onto the ground. She bit her lip suppressing her rising frustration.

"Oi, hun, you're thinking too much right? You just gotta act, all smooth the like me yahear?" Ikarusu called back to her in an almost mocking tone. He wasn't wrong though. Moving with your brain was slow- she needed to move faster. To twitch or activate ones ability to twitch react. Heh.

Rising to her feet and getting at the ready she let go of her sharingan, releasing at and leaving only her normal eyes. Perhaps the Captain was right. Much to her chagrin, she had to admit he was the genius tactician and captian of the Skyguards. She steaded her self and raised her arms.

"Alright luv, coming in hot!" he said as he circled up into the air on his wings then came down quickly rocketing for her. This time she didn't raise her arms in anticipation, she kept a wide stance, and before Ikarusu's leg even connected her body began to move as if on it's own. Her arms spread wide then clapped, and by the time his foot was about to hit her chest, her hands clasped onto his leg intercepting it before it's strike but before he could also pull off and away.

She roared allowed as she threw her weight onto the leg sending Ikarusu to the ground, his chakra wings discharging as he smacked into the earth with a hard thump. The satisfaction was palpable and she was happy to shut him up for at least a moment as the Skyguard captian looked at Mariya with a laugh.

She too burst out in laughter before offering him a hand up.

"A little better, aye? You see, that eye of yours is a gift but when you rely on it too much you're taking away from your ability to react." he said moving to the side. "Eventually it'll be your edge but until your body is fast enough to keep up with it it's just a liability... least at jounin-level combat..." he said tapping on Mariya's forehead.

She looked at his eyes angrily.

"Touch me again and I'll rip your finger off and show you what speed is flyboy." she said grinning. Ikarusu nodded, with a laugh. "Aye, sorry. Wouldn't want to piss of the lord emperors daughter too much..." he said sarcastically. Mariya punched him in the shoulder.

"How bout we check your aim- part of moving fast is being able to act while moving you know?" he said as he whistled and Fuu, Mariya's owl flew forth from the sky. In a seemless motion she lept onto his back as Ikarusu manifested his wings and took off into the air, going full speed.

1G Mariya noted as the bird flew to a jounin level stride. Ikarusu flawlessly kept up.

Push 2 she thought as Fuu flapped his wings with more power, enough so that Mariya nearly flew from his back. The g-force on her was now incredible as Fuu began flying at a full pace- something on par with a bannin.

Mariya gulped. It was getting hard to think. She was getting light headed.

"Alright, try to hit me!" Ikarusu said as he barrel rolled about running around him. Mariya carefully with one arm on the saddle of Fuu reached for her kunai.

She chucked it, but it completely missed. She let out a frusterated sound and went to draw another, steeling herself. She would need to control her body, her timing, and judge it against Ikarusu's better.

Mariya couldn't lose here. She'd been training for months with Ikarusu to become a Sky Guard. It was her chance out of Black Ops. Out of ISB. Out of the whole clandestine bullshit world she had been born into. A chance to soar through the skies free like a bird. Like Fuu. The freest creatures of the entire world.

She closed her eyes and let the frustration go away. She breathed out then opened her eyes, them instantly locking onto Ikarusu. The way he dodged, weaved, bobbed in the air. It had a pattern. A trajectory arc, a fall, and a rise. She would aim for the rise when his own momentum would help ensure his path couldn't change. Drawing her blade she flicked it, with just enough strength and the correct timing for it to make it's way.

Ikarusu rolled and drew his own blade, and in a flurry of steel deflected the kunai off course.

"Well done, but not good enough to get me luv!" he said with an obnoxiously proud voice. As if he wasn't a bannin fighting some special jounin in a sparring slash training session.

"Let's try some clones." Ikarusu said as lightning bolts rained down from the sky forming into the shape of four more Ikarusu's, the clones moving in a flurry around Mariya. The first clone suddenly rocketed forward for her, his fist colliding with her shoulder as the electricity hit her like a truck and she flew off the back of Fuu.

"Ack!" she yelled as her arm went limp and she began to free fall. Fuu would instantly begin to dive in order to catch her. But her focus was resolute. Opening her eyes she activated her Sharingan. Ikarusu was right about what happened on the ground- but in this situation she was moving way faster than she was capable and fighting in a terrain she couldn't keep up with. This was her best chance.

With her non-dominant hand she drew a kunai and whistled for Fuu to hold off on the rescue just yet. The Ikarusu clone who punched her went flying for her.

Trajectory marked.

She knew where he would strike- the path became a constant controlled by her falling speed and his dive. And with that, she knew how to fight. Moments before he would reach her she opened her body wide to catch the wind causing her speed to suddenly slow. The clone would zoom by beneath her as she would swing her kunai. Flipping through the clone discharged into the nothigness as Fuu took his queue to leap onto her.

Ikarusu chuckled.

"Not bad! You were able to control the speed differentials and terrain disadvantage." he said with a chuckle. Mariya stayed silent, focused only on achieving the goal of the training session. "We're not even close to done." she said as her hand raised into the air, blood dripping from her finger. She had just bitten it. Her eyes narrowed.

A rifle formed in her hand- her summoning contract. In it's brash Tanuki voice it chastized her. "Tanuki don't fly- why are you summoning me up here?" he said in an angry tone. She tanuki-handled the rifle right to her eye, staring down it's barrel and pointing it for the Ikarusu clones who were circling ahead.

"Just shut up and prepare to fire your best shots."

She would fire a first round, it narrowly missing the group. Reloading she fired another, missing again. Sniping wasn't as easy here as it was from the ground. Moving and being airbourne definetly changed the game and her timing... but one thing was the same- it'd needed a quick trigger reflex. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She would need to react quickly.

The moment her eyes opened she pulled the trigger, her arm automatically moving just slightly to aim the weapon as a massive lightning bolt flew out of Danzaborou and pelted its way through the sky right into the Ikarusu clone which exploded into lightning in the air. She screamed, "Hell yea!".

Without resting on her laurels she continued firing another shot- another, and yet another. The lightning bolts zipped through the air destroying the Ikarusu clones with absolute percision as her body went on auto-pilot. Trigger finger. Twitch. Shoot. Zap. Twitch. Shoot. Zap. And then it happened; she fired a shot she shouldn't have.

She counted in her head realizing the clones had already been destroyed, and if there were no more clones, then the Ikarusu she just shot with a powerful round was... the real one... who probably hadn't expected the attack.

"Shit!" she screamed as the mans body went limp and his chakra wings stopped moving. His body slowed in the sky as it curled over, then suddenly began to fall and drop.

"Fuu, get over there!" she screamed as the owl speed up and she released her rifle summon. IT went as fast as it possibly could, even hitting 3G. Mariya felt herself almost hurl and lose conscious as she hung onto his back... but Ikarusu was too far away, to close to the ground. They weren't diving fast enough. She closed her eyes and opened them again, her sharingan still keep an eye on things.

she came to one conclusion. She needed to act. Pulling for Fuu to stop suddenly, she lept, using speed to time it, at the same time that Fuu stopped. The G's launched her forward as she flew off of him and towards Ikarusu, Fuu disappearing into the smoke.

As she hurdled for the ground she caught onto Ikarusu.

"I got you!" she screamed as she raised her thumb, while holding him, up to her teeth and bit it, summoning Fuu beneath them just meters before the ground. The bird was ready and his wings out put out a glide, catching them as the group went flying into the ground on a bumpy landing, but one were no one would be hurt.

Mariya rolled over onto the ground, letting go of Ikarusu as both were on their backs.

"Well, hope I was fast enough for you..." she said with a sigh as she looked up to the sky.

Maybe she'd become a sky guard eventually.

Nestled among the mountains and surrounded by dense forests, Mariya, the daughter of Nakajima Hayate, the Raikage and emperor, embarked on a journey to hone her skills as a shinobi. Born into a lineage of powerful warriors, Mariya felt the weight of expectations on her shoulders, and she was determined to prove herself. To be better than her dads, Hayate and Banri.

The entire morning she had been climbing a mountain with a catch; she was forbidden from using chakra. She could only use her raw strength and power, her own body, to do what needed to be done. She was training because her father had challenged her to a spar to prove her growing strength.

Her father, the Raikage, was a strict but loving mentor, and he believed in pushing his daughter to her limits to unlock her full potential. Underneath the watchful eyes of her father and other experienced shinobi, Mariya tirelessly to hone her skills. Be it under Hayate, Ikarusu, or the Grand Admiral, she was on her way to being a powerful shinobi in the grand lightning empire army. One that would make her empire proud.

She pulled on her finger tips and exerted her grip, hopefully pulling herself up. It worked. She was quickly learning there were muscles all over her body she had never known about but also the power and strength each had. The next climbing point would be difficult though. She looked out, she was high above the world. The air was thin. The jagged spires and sheer cliffs were proving difficult.

Taking a deep breath she decided on her points. There was a point she could jam both feet, with a hand hold at navel height. Another hand hold was about a foot above her head, but the holds were reachable and useable without her risking anything... and so she moved. Activating all the muscles in her body burning them down to their fibers as they pulsated and moved she planted her first foot and moved her hand to the mid hold. She kicked, and when it didn't budge and she confirmed it was safe, she moved the next foot.

Next came the high hand hold. This hold would be what would get her to the next one- the thing was there was nothing but a rough edge 5 meters away. She would need to throw herself to the next point using her momentum... she just didn't have the raw strength to launch herself alone.

She took a deep breath.Using her foot hold she would "jump" kicking off of it as she swung both hands up for the hold. The momentum was powerful. She grabbed onto the point and pushing with all her strength swung herself, and pushed, propelling up into the air. She began to fly as she went by the edge... and then, she grabbed onto it. She did it- her fingers locking and holding as her body went limp and she hung from the side of the cliffs edge against it.

Sweat rolled down her face as she took a deep breath. The hard thing was- how would she get up? She could start to feel the fatigue in her arms. The tiredness. The muscle fibers becoming sore.

Shit.

The sweat began to roll down her forehead, actually, and into her eyes. She winced in pain and for a moment lost focus of where she was as one of her hands went to wipe her eyes. In that moment she nearly lost her grip with her right arm as she screamed out, remembering what was up. There was no way... Using every last ounce of strength in her body, her sides burning, she swung back up with her left hand and grabbed on.

Deep breaths.

She needed to get up on the narrow ledge- form there diagnol at 2 meters would be a jagged rock sticking out that she could use, and two more could be hand holds. Whether she would make it or not who knows but, yeah, if she could do it she could do it. Her back muscles began to tense and her shoulders flexed, showing her full might. With a deep breath, as she exhaled she pulled herself up, leaping up onto the cliff side. IT was narrow and only a few inches, but enough that she could get her feat onto there. Taking a deep breath she hopped that things would go well.

Using her core strength and her thighs she lept up two meters and to the side, diagnol, and put both her hands onto the rock jutting out. She did it without complication. Putting her hands around it tighter she began to swing back and forth, building momentum until she could spin round it and kick her legs up onto it. Hooking her legs onto it like clock work, she spun round with her core strength and got her arms onto another jagged rock about 1 meter away from that. Transfering herself to the next rock smoothly, she got up onto her legs and surveyed the area.

There were plenty of foot and hand helds from here out. Which was good, cause she was starting to get sore. She was strong but she wasn't that strong after all. The average human had nothing on her, but she was no where near her father or let alone jounin level strength.

For the next hour or two mariya would continue her climb and ascent, making her way up until she reach a wide cliff that plateaued out into a plains. Reaching the plains she would set up camp for the night and rest, eating some protein bars and ninja meal kits and preparing for the next morning and the descent.

All in all, Mariya would definetly find herself stronger than she ever was before and ready to push th eboundaried. Ready to prove her power.

She had earned her level up in strength but she still wouldn't be ready to face her father yet.

1003/1000 strength

It was as if Lightning had ran through her veins, super charging her and waking her into a state of alarm as her heart beatted to the sound of Hayate smacking a laddle on a pot. He danced- pranced really around the room shouting things like "wakey wakey eggs and bakey" and a plethora of idiotic things in his undying battle to wake the sleep teenager that was Nakajima Mariya. To her fathers credit she could smell the protein rich breakfast.

Wiping the sleep out of her eyes Mariya sat at the edge of her bed as her father tossed her her clothes and flak jacket. He nodded, "When you're done eating meet me at the Raikage tower training ground- we're gonna work on that speed of yours today Mariya" he said emphatically before disappearing into the nothingness. He always did that- it was a flex of how fast he was, being the fastest man alive after all. Putting on her gear faster than a cat chasing a laser dot the Chuunin looked at herself in the mirror then took a deep breath as she made her way down to the living room to collect her eggs, bacon, and toast.

Nothing was speedier and uh, like quick speedy training then eating quick, right? Scarfing down the nutrition and drinking a large glass of OJ in only 3 chugs the girl put in her stretches and then took off zipping out the door like a bolt of lightning, heading for exactly the place her father had recommended they go.

She hadn't made it half way there even when she noticed someone running on her left- quite fast too. The Raikage saluted her as he ran by, saying, "On your left!". Dad was always such a show off. Chuckling, she upped her speed to her max stride. The course alone to Raikage Tower was fun- mountain paths with winding roads. Crowded market places. A whole bunch of things to get in your way.

If she wasn't careful to utilize not only her speed but her agility to move, she could easily make a wrong move. Still, she knew the village like the back of her hand and elegantly avoided any obstacles, walked any tight wire, and carefully made her way across the village in the sky- the village hidden amongst the clouds. Her home, Kumogakure.

"Not bad!" her father yelled out as he passed her yet again, Mariya wondering how many laps the obnoxious man had performed already while she ate. He began to drop his speed down to keep in stride with his daughter this time, and nodded his head.

"The thing about speed and strength is- people think its raw, what they don't get is our level of movement is only made possible by chakra. The chakra that feeds into your veins. Your longs. That seeps into your tissues. Permeates the fibres of your muscle. Us shinobi are superhuman due to chakra- not just cause we're strong." he said as he began to playfully skip from one leg to the next, maintaining his speed with no detriment decides looking like a goof ball.

Mariya nodded, "Aye, and one can train the body to get more used to that and do better by flooding more chakra into their body during training, sir." she said as the chakra flushed into her body and she began to speed up. Her father stopped his playful and goofy skip and landed into a more serious stride, the two now moving at a very acceptable jounin level speed.

"Let's lap the village twice more before we hit the training course today, aye Mariya?" Hayate said as he began to speed up, pulling ahead of her slightly. His goal was to get his daughter faster- she didn't have to be necessarily as fast as he was, but she needed to be quick enough to respond in the heat of battle. To hold her own. Being his daughter... and... Banris. Put a big target on her back... and besides, she was pushing for Jounin.

Hayate was also sure that if his daughter could hid bannin level speed, along with her sharingan and skillset, she would become a very competent member of the village and empire.

Mariya at this point pushed more chakra into her muscles. She could feel them pulsating with new power. Flexing, moving. Breaking down oxygen and protein. Weirdly none of it was painful- the chakra reinforced the fibers too. It made the intense wear and tear she produced with the pounding of each and every footstep that much more palpable. That much less hamrful to her body.

She caught back up to her dad, the chakra boosting her well above her typical strength. Hayate nodded at his daughters performance.

"Well done- that's how you get it going." he said as he yet again pulled forward, ever so slightly. It was the slight push and edge she needed- to keep challenging herself. She'd need to go above and beyond where she wanted to be in speed each time- cause that was the only way to get her average speed up. Training the body to move at a train speed would leave you moving like a horse. If you only aimed for a horse you'd wind up short. Something like that.

She began to feel the burn in her calves, thights, and arms. Her lungs began to tingle as they starved for oxygen with the speed she was moving, and her relatively low endurance. She closed her eyes and keeped pushing, having not even noticed they were well into their second lap now. And before long, she crossed the line and wound up at the Raikage's tower, skidding to a halt as she caught herself in the grass and looked up.

She breathed heavily- insanely heavily as runners did after a big event. Her dad walked over and simply pressed his hand against her nose and mouth, Fuuton sending oxygen into her nose and mouth and filling her lungs until she was able to come down from the runners high and oxygen high.

"Quick break, then we do the course." her father simply said, unrelenting in his training plans.

After her brief break on the grass, gasping for air and recovering from the intense speeds she had put herslef through as-well as the rapid chakra induced stress she had forced upon her body, Mariya sat up. The whole time she had been recupperating the Raikage had been giving tips and pointers to other young shinobi at the training grounds. It was famous for that- he watched all day from his window and every moment he had, the former academy teacher made his way down from his tower to give tips to the best and brightest young shinobi of the village.

He was so different from Tada Banri- a man who only invested in specific individuals. She could see why he was well liked by his people in comparison to Banri- whose people always planned and plotted against him. Loyalty wasn't made in shadows after-all.

Looking at the training course, Mariya took a gulp as her father explained "The key to being a super-fast ninja is all about quick feet and sharp reflexes. Exhale at the right time. Use your chakra to help give you the boosts you need. You ready?" he asked at the end of his explanation.

Mariya nodded, her eyes filled with determination. Something about Hayate's positivity bled into her. Gave her hope. Riled her up. Rallied her even when she was tired. Crouching down at the starting block she kicked off and started running, her feet moving so fast they looked like a blur. Her dad watched, impressed, as Mariya dodged obstacles like a gecko dodging rain drops made of lightning. The swiniging axes, the salmon ladder, the log rolls, the boulder drop. She was an agile shinobi worthy of the cat-like visage the cowlicks on either side of her head gave her.

But, he also knew that something else would happen, because well, he had created it. Out of nowhere during her course a mischievous squirrel appeared on the path. It chittered and scampered around, trying to trip Mariya up. Mariya, grinding to a halting stop at the sight of the squirrel and attempting not to squash it with her mighty foot plant slipped, falling off the course and into the tiny pond below with a "speeeeluuunk- plop- ssshhhh".

As she came up in the water, boobbing with an angry look, the squirrel confused and dizzy gave up, bursting into a little electrical storm as Mariya realized the unexpected obstacle had come from her father. Oh, he just had to run his little pranks.

"Look, Mariya, you never know if a killer squirrel is on the loose... and it's kind of like parkour with a twist- ninja parkour right?" he teased as she angrily blew her hair and leaped out of the pond onto a giant lilipad, shakily catching her balance on it.

She nodded.

"Well, traps would be more likely but sure." she said as she looked at her dad, who pointed to the beginning of the course. He teased back, yelling, "Who said squirrels can't be traps- I've seen weird stuff!"

And so with laughter echoing through the training ground, Mariya continued to zip around, honing her speed skills. The sun rose higher in the sky as father and daughter shared a day filled with fun, laughter, and speedy trainings. They continued to up the antics more and more, until Mariya herself modified the course and got Hayate to do it.

By the end of their time running the course both shinobi were thoroughly drenched, but Hayate was certain his daughter had become a little bit fast than she had been weeks ago, the fruits of their every saturday morning labor come to bear. Waving his hands as both fire and wind combined for a warming gust, the two found themselves dried, albeit with a strange hair do a kin to some guy from a Forward to the Past movie with a horse kart that had to reach 99KPH to teleport to Sunagakure's past or something like that.

Leaping off the course and to the normal training ground, Hayate looked at Mariya.

"For your final training today, I want you to dodge my attacks." he said with a wicked smile. "You're not allowed to use Sharingan." he said, Mariya's jaw dropping. What a tall order- her best ability and chance to fend off her father was abritrarily taken away from her. Nodding, she dropped low into a neutral karate starting stance.

Hayate dropped low too, leaning on his front leg, like a spring and sprinter, crouched down with either hand behind him- the mark of his lightning shadow combat stance.

"I'll start off slow." he said as he counted down. "3..." he looked at Mariya. "2-" and before counting to 1-go he launched off at her, aiming a hook for her stomach.

Her eyes nearly popped out of her head but due to her ready stance and focused she managed to shift her arm just enough to take the impact of his hit, parrying it with right arm and pushing off. Immediately he hooked back round with his left leg aiming to sweep her leg, but she lept up into the air, then disengaged throwing herself back.

"you didn't eve-" she couldn't chastise her fathers cheap trick as moments later he was advancing on her again this time with a flying knee. The man was unweilding.

She dodged the knee sliding to the right- Hayate mid-air without even planting his foot swung back around with the other leg for her, like a storm of limbs.

With no choice to dodge the rapid succession of attacks she threw herself back to the ground rolling. He followed, stomping onto the ground as she rolled to the side in either direction as the comedic stomp rally occurred.

Timing things carefully she upped the tempo until her father got careless. There was a slight gap when he was off both legs and that was when his balance was weak. With him pulling his speed/punches, she would swing her leg round using her arms to hoist her body up like a b-boy dance and sweep his legs, the Raikage hitting the ground with a laugh.

His laugh confirmation that this was so slow to him- he saw the attack coming before it even completed- but also of his proudness and willingness to let Mariya get a hit.

"And there's the next lesson- speed is also tactics."

After drawing a 2cm-thick line up to 30 meter long, Mariya will touch the seal and channel chakra into it. In doing so, she utilizes her chakra to further control and draw thousands of tiny lines within operating as micro-channels. Upon finishing, the seal is armed allowing it to be capable of absorbing and carrying chakra from one end of the line to other. This can also be used to link several other fuuinjutsu or even increase the ability to kai or control things from long-distance. The line can be linked with other lines and carries energy without degradation and lasts until the seal is removed or otherwise de-activated.

Mariya sat at the main train depot for the Lightning Empire capitol city of Kumogakure. It was strange, from her perch behind a glass window, her tea in hand, to see how magically everything came together. How efficiently the trains came and went delivering the things on them. The people on them. How sometimes the things unloaded looked like they came from so far away. Sometimes so close. In many ways the train depot, the trains, and the people and goods on them were in a way part of a greater living organism. A system. A network of things all working together in perfect tandem to achieve a goal.

It gave wild excitement to the girl as she kept an eye on it, thinking about what this all meant. What it's implications were. The how was as interesting as what she saw too. The Kumogakure forces had engineered, via Fuuinjutsu, the means to have magnets and raiton move things along metal- they used Cobalt and other exotic materials. They had engineered their way through the physical world using physical forces that naturally "pushed" and "pulled" to make the train to move.

But it begged the question to her, wasn't there more they were capable of? Shinobi had mastered chakra to such unbelievably incredibly heights and values that it caused Mariya to pause. Perhaps... Perhaps they needn't no longer try to fight the physical world and there ways to use energies themselves? After all, it was in a text book that she read the energies of their world, in raw nature, were the fastest forces to exist. Light, lightning. These things traveled far faster than any raging river or tumbling rock. And it all fascinated the girl.

She doodled in her notebook some seals. Some shapes. Some designs. She thought about how one seal could have many other little seals within. She thought about how one could protect those seals to further avoid trouble.

Scratching her chin the girl thought about it- there was no way her hands could draw a seal like that. One that could have channels to carry the multitudes of energies that could be forced into it. But perhaps she could use ninpou- raw chakra itself as her brush. As a needle, to carve and draw the channels she needed. Putting her hand on the paper and the ink line she had drawn she decided to play with it. Minutes turned to hours and hours turned to multiple days, not all at the train depo of coure, but over time Mariya began to get a grasp on this technique. This technique to create a masterful seal.

Then came the real tests, could she "send" things through it? HEr idea was to use these seperated channels to send energy through it- that energy being chakra, of any form. If chakra could be sealed, surely you could seal it down and break it down to a rawer form and store that? While shinobi hadn't pushed the limits of that, they'd been doing it for decades. hell, they sealed entire living spirits into people.

Putting her hand on the side of one line, she sent a tiny spark of raiton. Without missing a beat a tiny spark shout out the other side, briefly burning a whole in the other side of the paper. Her eyes grew as she realized what she had done.

Making her notes, she had a new seal formula.

There was one issue though with her new formula. Something that stifled the very creative process she had hoped to endeavour that day as she watched the trains come in and out of the depot. Though she could seamlessly lay line after line and link them together, seemingly lines were static. To send energy in one end, meant it could only move in one direction out to the other end. In theory, this basic practicality could work.

She imagined something like messaging- like some sort of message you would send to each other utilizing this ability. In her head she saw two people opposite a building, A and B.

A could pulse messages through the line using morse code, which would go to B, and vice versa. This worked quite well in practicality- but what if A's message needed to be redirected? What if it needed to be split to go to multiple people. This made things more complex and certainly her simple "line" would not suffice for this case. She needed the ability to control traffic. To route things. The ability to "switch" where energy that had entered this pipeline would go.

Scratching her chin she looked through books and nature to look for a guide. She looked for something but found nothing... until she realized once more the train depot had her answer. At the depot some men stood on this circle- a circle they pulled a lever on and it moved, it moved to reposition the caboose of the train. It changed the tracts. It worked to redirect the force, which could only ever flow in one way down the line. It was a switch.

This was what she needed... but it was a very physical solution. Physical solutions were not exactly going to be that helpful here in a solution that only existed in "raw energy"- but perhaps.... one could, much like the line seals, create moveable lines, lines that could shift or change to re-route things. Taking to her notes Mariya began to draw many prototypes. Write down many ideas. Do the math. She would do everything she could to figure things out.

If she could do this it would be the massive break through she needed to make this scale- to be able to the widest possible audience with the largest impact. To be able to drive the technological advancement of the empire. To contribute to the fuuinjutsu engineering that had given the world trains and made Lightning Empire a beloved nation. Mariya stared at her blank paper, next to her tea. Could she create a round shape, and have smaller round shapes in it with a similar railing that could move? Similar to the station? This would be a physical switching of essentially the channels that carried the energy.

"Yes" she exhaled in pure excitement. That might just have been enough to do it- enough to get the job done. Her mind at work she began to draw shape after shape on the page, then put her hands to it, molding, shaping. Her plan was that using the kai would allow her to move and shape things. To control... If things came together just right, perfectly, then she'd have her goal met. Anticipation and excitement shook her body.

After some time she had succeeding in successfully getting a seal that could have the channels within it moved via kai. She felt in wonder as she moved things around. Felt them move. Got a feel for where it was. It was a magical and momentous move. Next, she decided it was time to try and make something more of it. The first network ever.

Going back to her dromitory she painted lines all over the room. Out to the garden. Everywhere. She put hubs between them all. Set each and everything up. And finally, she put a jutsu into it. The goal was to have a fireball wind up somewhere else. Best case was to shoot it out of the hub she had placed in the fountain. Whether or not it would work out like that well, who knew, but that was the goal. Heh. She put the fire into the first line and let it rip. She watched it all go, like a kid watched ants.

The energy absorbed into the seal and the line and moved off to the hub. It continued from the hub to the another line, then into a hub, which redirected it back to the same line. Then back to the same hub. Then left following a different line. As this continued by the line to line to hub, everything switched so perfectly meeting every expectations he had ever had, and finally, well, till finally, the fire ball had made it to the Fountain.

In a beautiful and momentus shape the fire flew out the garden, causing everyone in the dorm to look out their windows. It seemed that mariya had been expirementing again- people were getting used to it. They were after all being housed at a research facility with the goal of advancing the Lightning Empire.

Mariya, grinning ear to ear, knew that the next day she would have a great presentation to the other shinobi in the fuuinjutsu squad. It perhaps wouldn't be as directly cool or powerful as the weaponry, armor, or things others built, but she was cnvinced the utility of her design could change the world as they knew it and unlock the ability to have even more impressive weapons, armor, defense, and other installations that would achieve their singular goal.

Peace, justice, and prosperity in their empire.

Proud with her creations and machinations Mariya woudl return to her bed, turning the lights, as she laid and let her mind dream up all the ways these seals and the new jutsu she had invented could be used. Sensing arrays. Communications. Traps. It was really a world of endless possibilities and her mind was filled with absolute joy just thinking about it.

For the empire. she thought as she drifted out of consciousness and into her deep slumber.

The last thing Mariya really needed to pull this off was a battery- some kind of power source. She had been thinking deeply, but sending entire jutsus were silly- especially when Fuuinjutsu essentially could substitute for the hand seals a shinobi did. What if you had a seal, to shoot a lightning bolt, and the end of a 5E Segment line? Sure that seal couldn't do anything on it's own as it lacked enegry, but if raw chakra in surplus to a lightning bolt was provided, much like the seals of a human hand, couldn't it... fire?

The thought was fascinating- it could greatly improve the artillery they had. And so, she set out do this. It was easy enough to store jutsu or chakra, so she worked out the idea of modifying a typical storage seal. Looking at her hands she began to draw a circle on the ground. Somewhere around 5cm. The black seal would allow her to push raw chakra into it and seal it for later usage. This part was easy enough, and as she assumed she could do it.

She then connected to a seal. Working to draw a "trigger mechanism" that waited to release the energy until the kai was given took a little work. A lot of premature fires happened. Scratching her chin she got it done. Putting all the pieces together she prepared to fire her thunder canon. Four "cells" were attached to her 5E line to deliver power in the form of a C-Ranks worth of chakra. If it worked well, well... she'd succeed.

Putting her hands together she kai'd the first cell. A blast of lightning fired. Second. Third. Fourth. It was a rapid success and she had succeeded in flying colors with integrating her piece of the pie together. A happy look on her face, she realized she had everything she needed to demo this technology to the fleet.

Suiton • Magnifying Lenses
D-Rank Ninjutsu
By channeling chakra into her eyes, Mariya will create a small lenses of water over them. These lenses allow her to magnify her vision up to 5x out. When Mariya stops channeling, the lenses will stay locked at whatever magnification they were set to for up to 4 posts or until cancelled. She can channel the lenses again at anytime to change their setting.
403/400Show
Mariya was looking at scrolls she had received from her father, Hayate. The vast majority of his skills were written here- the details of how to do the legendary Raikage, warrior, and scholars jutsu. It was vast, and today, she was focused on learning some of his suiton repitoire. To start with she would work on mastering a technique of his that allowed him to see further away. For him, it was a nice little trick. For Mariya and her sharingan, especially with Danzaborou in rifle form, it could be surprisingly powerful. She started by reading the scroll out and making careful note of the technique and all there was to know about it.

First was the seals. If one was to not use channeling, the seals were Rat, Monkey, Rat, Monkey with a release molding of Suiton. Though Mariya hadn't used suiton much yet, her Sharingan made her so familiar with it. It allowed her to see others mold it, and easily see how she was molding it. This meant she could tweak her technique.

To start off she focused with just the water. After a few minutes and having produced water in her hand she decided to work on creating small lenses in her hands. This was shape manipulation and tended by far to be the much more difficult part of this. That said, that would still be the easy part considering she needed to form them as concave and convex lenses for her eyeballs. She'd continue this for a while until she succeeded, and when she did, she would look into the mirror and get ready for the next round.

Putting her fingers to her eyes carefully she created the lenses. It took a few tried and her eyes were terribly red by the time she got it right, but when she did, her muscles would remember it. From there though she needed to magnify her vision. From what she could tell of her father he could do this up to 5x out. This would be a long arduous process. Hours of holding the one-handed kai and manipulating the jutsu again and again and again until finally she was able to get 1X. Then again for 2x, and so on. it wasn't like she paritulcarly knew magnifiying apetures well so.

EVentually though she succeeded and would be able to increase and "zoom in" allowing her to see far away places with clarity. It was aweosme.
Suiton • Bubble Beam
D-Rank Ninjutsu
By channeling chakra into her mouth, Mariya will blow a torrent of bubbles that travel in roughly a cone with a 10 meter base-width and length. The bubbles travel at [Control] speed. Upon popping, they rain slippery water all over the ground that requires a concentration in [Acrobatics] to stay upright and avoid slipping. The enveloping passive tends to "hold" someone who falls for up to 4 posts before running out of energy.
403/400Show
Mariya looked through the next scroll. It described some of Hayate's famed bubble jutsu. Though the man was famous for his lightning in truth his other elements were far wider used. His fuuton was deadly. His suiton deadly- and also his most defensively powerful tactic, his bubbles having protected many a citizens.

This jutsu was not her end goal entirely but it certainly was a decent starting place. She looked at the scroll and the description and illustrations by her father. The jutsu would start with channeling chakra into the mouth to activate the salivia glands, and mixing and meading that with chakra to create the suiton effect. Then, shaping your lips like you would to blow a chewing gum bubble you would release the water. IT was an interesting technique that used the slight bit of physicallity to create the desired effect.

The bubbles were then supposed to travel outward in a rough cone, some 10 meters wide at the base. It was interesting. Mariya theorized she could improve her fathers technique though not by focusing on force but by focusing on the bubbles ability to make things slippery for others. After than, suitons enveloping passive could potentially be a great help. Making notes of all this, she would get to work.

She'd spend the first thirty minutes or so just working on melding and creating suiton in her mouth. It was easy enough to spit out a jet of water, and in between accidental inhalations and trip ups she'd eventually master that. Next she moved onto using her mouth and holding the final seal while she shaped via chakra and physically the bubbles, blowing them out. This too went to plan. Likewise, the size was adequate.

Next, aided by a few clones, she sent the slipper water all over the ground. The clones soon found themselves slipping around, left and right, completely incapable of righting their positioning. They lacked the balance, body control, and knowledge of how to traverse such a tricky, slippery path way. One by one they fell to the ground, popping into smoke. The ones that didn't were soon washed over by the enveloping pasisve of suiton, holding them to the ground with the residual energy and force. All in all, it was a decently useful move she had invented that she could see herself using when she needed to get a taijutsu opponent off her front foot.
Suiton • Bubble Bomb
D-Rank Ninjutsu
By channeling chakra into her palm, Mariya will create a 3" diameter bubble of water in her palm, the inside of it swirling like the seas. On impact the bubble bursts forward releasing a massive torrent of 7-meter wall of water that knocks into the opponent with [Control] strength. As the wall crashes down on the target the enveloping passive of suiton can help pin them to the ground for up to 4 posts before running out of water.
410/400Show
For the final basic Suiton technique, Mariya planned to learn try and re-create her fathers Heart's linked friendship sphere whatever it was called. The name was horrible but it's applications legendary. It was said many feudal lords were slayed by the technique, and more than a few missing ninja bad guys. It sounded simple enough- but Mariya had perhaps set her sights too far ahead. After hours of getting no where she had to admit that maybe an S-Rank suiton move out the gates was not in the card for her. Never the less, she decided to scale things back. Burst Bubble was another good skill in Hayate's repertoire but it wasn't quite her speed.

Thinking of Fanho and Taiga's rasengan in addition to her fathers bubble moves, Mariya held her palm out, outstretched. Rasengan churned and manipulated like a ball of water. In fact, she heard many people utilized a balloon filled with water when learning it. With that in mind, surely she could do something similar? She started by forming a bubble of water in her hand, the inside of the bubble thick and moving like a swirl, as if it was two layers. Visually, it worked.

She tried to swirl the waters around with immense strength. If she could get it to spin like a vortex on the inside on it's own she would be close to recreating her fathers technique... Confident that things had worked out, she would slam it into the wall, only to find that nine times out of ten it accomplished nothing. She needed to increase the power.

Playing with the rations and how she molded the chakra, she eventually got a 3 inch diameter bubble in her palm. When she threw it forward it released a massive wall of water that shot out. Trying it on some clones it eaisly knocked them over, throwing them to the ground then overwhelming them as the wave crashed down. The enveloping passive of suiton did some additional work to pin them, carrying the strange of the wave and locking it around them for some time. This technique would be good for capturing foes or defensively levyting an attack.

She could imagine using the wall to block an incoming attack and the after-effect get the bad guys- lock em to the ground and save the day. Time would only tell if this new suiton jutsu was useful, but for now, she would continue to practice it.
Doton • Shindo 1
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra into her foot and slamming it on the ground, Mariya will cause the ground around her in a 7 meter radius around him to shake violently at [Control] strength for 4 posts. This can make hand-to-hand combat significantly more difficult for those trying to get close to him, and for those with less strength impossible as they will fall to the ground unable to move against the tremors.
412/400Show
The next move was one that could cause small, localized earth quakes. Again, melee fights came to mind. She remembered her father closing in on her and Ikarusu. Their speed overwhelming her. She could instead, make the ground around her (but not under her) potentially shake. If it shook powerful enough this could knock people of their feet or preventing them from moving on her. Like a tiny earthquake. Her ability to follow up would then also be stronger. All in all she considered to be likely a pretty damn good idea.

It didn't take long for her to get down to the books. She read through some scrolls, and learned that earth release was pretty useful for these kind of trap-like effects. The way it was made was with kind of, churing your chakra like a cement mixer. A heavy process. That alone made it a rather interesting prospect. More importantly though she also realized the importance of making sure she could catch people in the attack. Wit hall that figured out she decided to start with a hand seal approach before moving to channeling.

The initial shaping of the technique used ox, hare, ox, dragon. She expirmented with seals but found this got the best control and shaking effect she was going for. With that verified, the shinobi did her work to control the size and range of the shakes. SHe was extra careful to make sure the middle epicenter where she was did not shake- that would help buy her some good safety and allow her to deal with opponents but not put herself into her own trap. WHen she was confident this would work, she decided to test things out by building at least ten clones. That would be enough clones to give her more than a few test rounds.

Starting things off the clones rushed her. As she correctly anticipated, the clones would waste little to no time coming down upon her with all their might. She would waste no time moving to defend herself. It was simple really.

Her heel striking the ground fromt hat very moment the strike rippled out and shook the earth with tremendous power. Immediately at least two of the clones poofed from the initial vibration impact alone, while the others fell to their knees unable to move under the shaking of the ground. She would then dispatch of each clone easily with a kunai. SO it was. Her jutsu was complete.
*Doton • Binding Formation
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After channeling doton chakra into their foot the user will slam the ground within 5 meters of a target's feet with their heel, causing a formation of rock to shoot upwards at [Control] speed binding the target's feet at [Control] strength.
401/400Show
Mariya had once witnessed Hayate, whilst sparring with the bannin, use a well placed but simple D-Rank doton to turn the tide of a duel. It was ingenious really- D-Ranks were so simple they could be cast quickly and effeciently, but the right utility could win the fight. IN this case, she saw him slam his foot in the ground causing a formation of rock to shoot up and crawl up the opponents leg just as they had begun to jump. It bound them in place and allowed for Hayate to spin round and deliver a lighting lariat, non lethal, to the bannin, knocking him out. It was definetly some clever jutsu usage.

Mariya wanted to be like that. She don't want to fight with direct power- she wouldn't to fight with well placed minimal movements that won the game through attrition- a little different to her father, but all the same. That was why she was especially interested in learning his lower ranked jutsu. In her head she imagined it- the cement mixer. The churning of her doton chakra. She did this till she was able to attach rocks to her own legs. Make rocks sprout up around her. She'd practice that for several days, weeks months, what have you. She'd get good at it. Really good. Kidding, it was hours. It was only a D-Rank okay?

When she felt comfortable with that she would practice the whole heal strike rock pop up conbo. She'd do it on dummies. on trees. on clones. on genins. on anything really that would let her. And she'd do it until there was no more to do. Finally, she was pretty damn sure she mastered the jutsu. She was so confident, she tried it on some clones, as always.

One by one each clone came and one by one she slammed her foot into the ground, within 5 meters of their heel of course, causing the rocks to shoot up and bind their feet. One by one they failed to dodge. They failed to break out. They failed to do anything but fail and roll critical ones. Sorry- wrong game.

BUt eventually, Mariya was confident she had mastered her fathers technique and was sure no one would doube she had the quick feet to doton stone ya feet and lock ya in. Such was the way. And this was the way- is the way.
*Doton • Wall
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user will form a solid stone wall up to 5 meters away from them at [Control] speed. The wall has [Control] strength and is 3x3x1 meters large.
411/400Show
Oh baby- the Doton Wall. There no technique more fundamentally Doton, or more well known that that. From the moment the apes used weapons and learned walls kept the bad out, they built them. And, when Shinobi got chakra, boy, it was no different. Mariya was fairly certain that learning Doton without learning the wall technique made you a short-sighted loser, and so, she set out to learn it. This time it had nothing to do with her stinky dad and everything to do with the standard-village Doton archives she found at the library.

SImilar to before she spent a lot of time playing with chakra mixtures and molding. A lot of time imitating the earth and different earths. From what she could tell the jutsu followed all the usuals. You made the correct hand seals. You made the stone wall. You made it up to 5 meters away at a speed and strength you could control, and generally in about a three by three by one meter shape. Yeah- it was a wall. She got that. So she got right too it. She built all kinds of walls. Little walls. Big walls. Bricked walls. Solid slab walls. She got fancy and built inner supports and outers. She even wound up building some insulated walls.

But really none of that mattered- what combat called for was a plain, real simple wall. Like a stone wall, yaknow? The orginal jutsu she had been studying before she got carried away. With her mind refocused on that she began making hand seals, then went to channeling. She shaped the wall and made sure it was boring and plain. When she was sure she had done that right, she summoned the clone gang. They'd help prove her wall was useful and good by chucking stuff at it, or something like that. She thought.

She wasn't positive but it made sense.

The clones through pebbles. Rocks. Stones. They threw knives. The thick wall held up against it all. Pieces chipped off. Corners. Dents were made. But nothing quite made it all the way through. She took joy in it to a point where she thought- maybe I could like, make a wall and sit before it?

She did that. Sitting as the clones chucked stuff at it she proved it was safe as she chilled. They had no chance of getting her... and well, that is how mariya nakajima learned to make a doton wall yo.

nature/fuuton/second wind
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After the appropriate hand seals Mariya will produce oxygen in her blood, completely removing the need to breath. The effects of this technique will last for 6 posts or until cancelled.
403/400Show
Mariya was running with all her power, her heart pounding as she raced through the jungle paths. She was wounded- slow, and had no chance in fighting off the horde of enemies that were chasing her, and really only had one choice: to run away. Her sides began to her as she struggled to maintain her breath. She had, conceptualized, and had as an idea based on Hayate’s jutsu, though about utilizing wind to improve her ability to breathe. It was largely a smart idea. If she did it even better she could completely remove her ability - err rather need to breathe. A true second wind upon herself.

She began to channel into her body as she mixed fuuton chakra and effectively started producing air within her space. She focused to fine tune it until it was air around her body, and then further refined and refined it till it was now being absorbed into her skin. Here she needed to practice and work quite carefully with things. Too much oxygen could be dangerous too- after all. Once she was certain about this she gave it a small start. She could suddenly feel as if her body was emboldened- as if it suddenly became better. Stronger. She could feel herself no longer needing to struggle on breathing, in fact, she found soon that she didn’t even need to breathe and focused entirely on her movement.

Bandits on her heels she cleared the trees only to come across a river. Without thinking she dove into it, the rapids quickly carrying her off and towards a cliff. The cliff became a waterfall into a lake below, and preparing herself to submerge and fall, she went over, only to find that under the water she didn’t need to hold her breathe, she was still able to breathe fine. It was incredible- but she had managed to produce oxygen in her blood and managed to take care of herself. A huge smile on her face Mariya kept swimming, staying below the water to avoid being spotted. She’d refresh her jutsu periodically as needed, until she was able to make it a safe enough distance away to emerge out the water onto a shore. Once there, she’d have a new focus: she needed to clean her wounds, cauterize them, and get some rest.

She was happy to have improved on her fathers jutsu, even if it wasn’t perfect.

After recently having trained with Aki, Mariya was curious how she could improve the total stealth of her an Aki should they enter Limbo. One such thing that came to mind was the importance of being quiet. Moving like the wind itself- like a quiet whisper on a cold night. As her hands worked through various iterations of hand seal combinations, she finally summoned a gentle zephyr of wind, enveloping herself and her comrades.

As the wind embraced those affected, the jutsu would, if worked as designed, lift them effortlessly into the air like the autumn leaves that danced in the cool, strong beezes. With each step they took, the world around them hushed into a tranquil stillness. The rustle of leaves and the chirping of birds faded away, replaced by the peaceful hum of the wind.

With the grace of ghosts and her movements unhindered by earthly constraints or the wind itself, she moved with an eerie “that’s too quiet” feeling. With every leap and bound, the wind around her left her deny gravity… cheat physics, as she suspended through the air with elegance. With the wind wrapped around them, those who would be effected by her new technique would save themselves from the ears of their opponents, muffling their footsteps as they traversed the landscape.

Nearly positive she had it down she began to experiment, starting with the correct hand seals, then moving to cast the wind around herself.

After the appropriate hand seals Mariya will cast a wind that levitated her into the air. She tested with some clones and it levitated them up to. A smile came across her face. This would be more than enough to help silence her and her allies steps- as long as they carefully proceeded every sound they made would be muffled, and likely smells and other things to. Pass without a trace- that was one way you could conceptualize such a technique. Taking a deep breath she realized it as she dropped back down to the ground and took a look around. If she wanted to test this more, she’d try it with Aki or someone. See if they could sneak into the Raikages office.

In the end, she’d do exactly that and they’d do it with ease proving the technique was pretty useful in stopping others from sensing them- well, until the Raikage used chakra sensory to find AKi. Oh well.

Admit the howling winds of the highest-most peak of Kumogakure, with no other sounds but the occasional chirping of a nearby goose as it migrated south for winder, a group of shinobi had gathered for a specialized training session. Among them was Mariya, an elite jounin who showed a natural tendency for the usage of fuuton. At the head was the Raikage himself- today he would help the shinobi around him learn fuuton.

”The wind is a powerful tool- the wind giveth, and the wind taketh!” he said as he waved his hand and suddenly everyone fell to their knees, the wind leaving their lungs as they struggled to catch their breaths. Just as quickly as he had performed his techinque, he undid it, then looked to the group.

”Our peaks are protected by a similar technique. With our natural conditioning and second wind we do well against it… but you must learn how to weaken any who would climb our peaks to fight.” he trailed off as he tossed a scroll to each of them.

Mariya caught the scroll and began to read it. Her chakra was already attuned to the element of wind and looking at the scroll she began to pace her way through the intricate hand seals described within. With each movement of her hands, a surge of chakra pulsed through her veins, ready to be unleashed. She’d let it go each time until she had practiced the seals with enough speed and precision.

Next, she would combine her chakra molding and the seals together, as she then let loose a thins stream of wind from her mouth. It sliced through the air with remarkable speed. It darted forth like an arrow, quickly impact an area off away as it swirled like a tornado, engulfing an area where other recruits were. They struggled against it, as others observed with awe as the tornado roared to life, its howling winds stirring up debris and leaves in a chaotic whirlwind.

It was the others job to resist- to train against as they did their best to channel their inner second wind… to give them breath. “Incredible….” one of the onlookers exclaimed, marveling at the jutsu's potency. It was nothing short of interesting.

But Mariya knew that mastering the Fuuton Suffocation technique was more than just unleashing raw power. It required finesse, control, and an acute awareness of one's surroundings. With a focused gaze, she maintained her concentration, adjusting the intensity of the tornado to ensure its effects were precisely controlled.

Releasing her tech, she would subject herself to others, carefully observing everything they did and learning from her peers as she finished up the training session.

Mariya was in Akino Peak training park 2 today. There were no winds around her, the gentle calm of the artificial and man-made peak a symbol of Kumogakure’s unparalleled architectural prowess. Mariya had been adamant on pushing her wind release abilities a step further than she had with other elements; she was insistent on mastering the vacuum destruction technique. She had seen her father user it once- the great blades of wind down right terrifying- perhaps even more than anything she was capable of.

From the center of the training ground, her chakra pulsating with the elemental energy of wind, Mariya locked her eyes on the stone training dummies scattered all about the field. As she began to weave the intricate hand seals required for the jutsu, an aura of anticipation filled the air. Mariya calmly looked up as she yelled her move in the most shounen fashion.

"Fuuton: Vacuum Destruction!”

Her voice had a tinge of clever with a reverberating authority.

In an instant, a series of rapid exhalations escaped Mariya's lips, each breath forming itself into a deadly blade of wind. They were hardly visible but the they moved with such strength. The blades slammed into the ground short of her target but not without ripping large holes. She blinked. The blades were impressive in size and power but she had to get better at controlling them.

Repeating the process this time she flicked her wrists with a focused gaze as her hands gracefully shot out each blade of wind, some faster some slower as they harmonized to ultimately the same locale and speed. This time her control of their trajectory was somewhat better, and despite the ferocity of the technique, there was a strategic nature to the placement of the blades.

She watched in awe as the blades of wind sliced through the air with unparalleled speed and precision. Each blade carried with it the destructive force of a raging tempest, cleaving its way through dummy after dummy- solid obstacles no less with ease.

This was the pure destructive power of wind. And with this on her side, she could destroy any wall in her path, dispel any attacks coming her way, and cut down any platoon who dared go against her. Mariya took a gentle but deep breath as she looked upon the havoc her blades had left.

In truth she had designed and thought about this jutsu for many months- she was so happy to see it come to fruition with relative ease.

Today Hayate sat with his daughter at the training ground. He was going to pass on his Katon- specifically his feather themed katon. Of all his abilities it was the most destructive but the one least known. No one ever thought of Hayate the fire user after all. Perhaps Mariya would be able to use the techniques to burn hotter, burn brighter, and push things to limits he could never reach.

The Raikage was coated in fire, a tuft of feathers were spectacular. He moved like a peacock, the feathers falling like embers and starting more fires. It was incredible to see. Mariya watched with incredulous eyes- every feather was a chance to spawn destruction for her father. A chance to create a field in which he was supreme. He was, truly, a legend. But, seeing this, left Mariya with some doubts.

For Hayate this way of fighting was extremely powerful. He had kinesis- and the fire would become his deadly weapon. For her though, she didn't have kinesis. She couldn't imagine the technique being very useful to her... she watched on though, unable to break her fathers high hopes and hearts. Her mind imagined the visage being the same but perhaps the application different. Perhaps the fire was better off just an armor for her, rather than a spreading weapon.

"Father- perhaps just armor is fine for me- I don't have the ability to use those flames much." she said. He blinked his eyes incredulously then thought. "You're not wrong." With that, the Raikage laid out a new direction set. The Raikage though more though. "Fire armor is a little dangerous anyways- how bout we learn fireball". He said, offering a simple solution. Mariya nodded. That made more sense.

She learned the way it worked- the right molding. The good stuff. How to churn the fire in her stomach and diaphram then release it. It was similar to Suiton surprisingly, and a little but of doton. It tended to favor tiger, dragon seals though. This helped her also conceptualize how to channel. She'd practice shooting fireballs over a lake with her father for hours, until finally, she mastered it, this being also her first fireball jutsu.

Fireballs though in the end were way too boring. Mariya paused. She made a fireball, but this time, shaped like a sword, and this time, it stayed around her, levitating. Her father looked increduously.

"Interesting?" Mariya then duplicated it until multiple swords of flame surrounded her. She had an idea. With a wind-almighty-push she sent the swords all flying for the same target as they exploded in a firey mayhem.

"Guess that beats a boring fireball" Hayate said as Mariya nodded. Oh it certainly did that and more.

After the appropriate hand seals Mariya will channel katon chakra through a kunai or knife, forming a 15m long 10cm diameter flame whip at [Control] speed that lasts for 4 posts. The whip burns at [Control] strength and can super-heat metals or burn things it passes through, making it a unique weapon not subject to the same weaknesses a physical whip would be.
425/400Show
Mariya decided to come up with her own final Katon jutsu- something that would match her flavor. She had always been fond of chorded weaponry and using a whip, and the idea came to her quickly. Fire didn't displace blades, but if she could keep its shape, it also meant one couldn't just deflect fire with a sword. This gave her the idea to make a whip of fire that she could swing at things, passing through defenses to deliver deadly burns to her opponent.

Holding such an item would of course be very hard and difficult, so initially, she decided it was best to have the handle be a stick or kunai or something. A kunai in hand, she worked on putting the flame onto the tip and growing it from there. The main difficulty would be keeping the form of a whip on the flame. She would have to program the jutsu and make it do that without losing its shape if she was going to be able to whip it aorund, no pun intended, and crack that whip. All puns intended. If would lose its form during that it'd be useless as a whip. At the same time htough she needed to make sure the whip didn't get caught on things. It would flow like a whip, but being made of fire, wouldn't be able to grab anything.

When she was sure she tweaked and designed things right, Mariya would give it a try, summoning some clones ,making some walls, giving some swords, etc. SHe would test the efficacy of her move.

She ran through the motions. With a kunai in her hand she held onto it. PUlsing chakra into it she melded and wrapped the flaming chakra around the end of the kunai, not that it was enough. She then would begin to stretch it. She'd kneed and stretch the flame into a thin whisp, step by step till it was a long whip, close to 7 meters long with 2 inches thickness. So far, the shape had gone well. Expirmenting with that and pushing the limits for a while till she got it right, she would begin to swing at the clones. They wouldn't tell her much about the burns since they disappeared soon, but they did test that a sword was useless against this weapon. The burns worked on trees and stones too- the char marks visible.

With a few more rounds of practice she would be confident this jutsu was at a good enough state to call learned.

After the appropriate hand seals Mariya will place her hand on someone or something creating a bead of katon chakra that lasts up to 4 posts. When kai'd, the bead blasts out fire in one direction at [Control] strength for up to 1 post creating thrust and immolating anything in it's path.
445/400Show
As a Skyguard, there would be times she needed to fly. Hayate had showed her his ember thrust feathers and instantly Mariya had taken to the idea. Using Katon to create immense thrust force had so many applications. She could through herelf out of harms way. Fly. Throw other people. Attach it to objects and fire them at people. Really the utilities use of such a technique was exciting and she couldn't wait to try it out. Her father helped guide her on to how to safely make the effect and make sure the fire explosion went out the right way.

She watched Hayate zip about. She watched items zip about. He even put some flames on her and zipped her around. It was an interesting concept. Without the feather motif, she decided to keep it simple herself. She would just touch something and create the thrust point. That was more than enough.

She began by touching her a kunai and pointing it to the tree. Flames roared aound the back off it, then poofed out of existence, a dud. She gave it another try, keeping the kunai in her hand while she channeled, and melded the chakra. This time, it was "silent". It kicked off but sputtered a little, then went no where. She frowned. Hmph.

Trying it again with Hayate's warm encouragement, she was able to succesfully send the kunai sputtering into a target this time, but it wasn't that powerful. She'd practice for a few more times, and after thirty minutes, when she got consistency in launching the kunai she would try it on herself. Inspired by Hayate's story that once, he used this technique to fling himself out of the way of a much more powerful opponents hit, and another time he used it on a team of genins to fling them out of danger, she was interested in seeing the use cases on humans.

To start with, she put it on her heel. She was thinking activating it mid kick could increase her striking power. Hayate lined up, his arms out, ready to block a kick.

Mariya went for the kick and activated the thruster on her foot- her foot suddenly accelerating to bannin level strength as it rocketed into Hayate and kept pushing. It was powerful and he groanded as he pushed back, but it also took Mariya compeltely off her foot, and moments later she was flying around in the air crazily until her dad tackled her to the ground.

"That's not part of the jutsu, so I guess you did it, but you'll need to work on your taijutsu application". he said with a smile.
