This is the intro thread of Damon. He should slowly be heading to the Ishiguro tower. Happy for him to bump into some fellow Ishiguro on the way. Once there he will get access to a space of his own and idk happy to take him on a spin after that. Just want to develop a feeling for the RPC. Feel free to ping me on Discord if you want
It was visible from far out in the distance and stretched high into the clouds. A fortress chiselled into two mountains, and without a doubt the largest city Damon had ever seen. Before him laid the treasured capital of the Lighting Empire. Kumogakrue no Sato.

The place of his birth. Yet memories were spare and felt like patched together, as if they weren't his but instead stories etched into his mind, told and re-told by someone else.

It was early in the morning, the sun had barely risen from its nestled slumber behind the highland peaks. Fog drifted in and out of the wide and well traveled cobblestone paved road leading up to the capital. The wide ancestral river running past him splitting the summit before him in two.

Damon was well prepared for the road, a thick oversized fur jacket accentuating his otherwise frail frame. Long, loosely-fitted hakama pants and black boots ensured he stayed warm. A substantial leather pouch was slung over his back.

The Chunnin sighed, he thought to avoid the crowds by breaking tent early enough, it was not the case. The path was littered with carts, merchants, fishers and construction workers.

He pulled his fur-lined hood further down over his face, and slipped his gloved hands deeper into the pockets of his jacket. "Tss...". He clenched his teeth in annoyance.

The Shinobi picked up the pace, and deftly manoeuvred past the horse drawn cart in front of him. He still had quite a way to go before reaching his destination.

By the time the line of people queening at the immigration halls came into sight, the sun had climbed well above the peaks, and it had gotten notably warmer.

Damon's irritation grew with every passing minute he stood waiting in the column of people. It was loud, foul-smelling, and in utter disarray. The voices of dozens of merchants in discussions of varying intensities blended with the pungent odor of horse manure, and mixed with the stench of sweat, overshadowed only by explosive arguments erupting somewhere within the large, temple-like building at the front of the line.

When it was finally his turn, he almost slapped the heavy envelope from his chest pocket onto the counter before him. The officers inside, mirroring his level of annoyance, barked at him, "Name and reason for visit?." He pulled the hood of his jacket back, unveiling his silver hair and headband, "Ishiguro, Damon, Shinobi matters" he snapped back. The man's eyes tightened for a second before quickly scanning the boy. "Says here you're from the North, huh, an Ishiguro? First time back in over 10 years?" "War orphan" Damon hissed at him. The man's shoulders dropped, and he became visibly calmer. "Alright, alright, kid, looks good, Raikage stamp and all. Welcome back home." Damon grabbed the piece of paper in passing, without another word, and marched deeper into the stone monastery.

When he emerged from the expansive, tunnel-like passage he found himself at a vast crossroad. His eyes widened in disbelief. Tier upon tier of stone structures rose up into the peaks of the summit, archways, overpasses and viaducts of various shapes and sizes connecting the two sides. It was unlike anything he had ever seen - the gut of a mountain come to life.

He could feel the anxiety in his throat, a sour lump he couldn't swallow. His eyes darted about attempting to carve out a path for himself while nervously shuffling about.

His final destination, the Ishiguro Tower, was on the western side of the town, that much he knew. Eager to finally break free from the crowds, the Shinobi crouched slightly, chakra surging through his legs in anticipation. Moments later, he propelled himself off the ground, a massive leap lifting him out of the masses onto a balcony above street level. After two more such jumps, he found himself standing on a much more isolated bridge.

He sighed again, and ran his hands through his hair, the single beaded strain of hair falling into the front of his face.

Now which way to this damn tower?

Hanako wasn’t an Ishiguro, she really didn’t have much of a clan either. Her last name also wasn’t really a last name, but rather an indication of where she had come from. Kumogakure, requiring a last name when she was brought here so many years ago as a toddler, was given the name Hanamura. Hanamure was a town in the Lightning Empire, a small village more like. Barely anyone had ever heard of it before and Hanako could barely remember it herself. All that had remained in her original home were memories of fire and death as a fire claimed the lives of her parents and many other of her family members. Her brother was alive though and he would likely still be there. Perhaps. Was it possible to be homesick for a home she had never really known? Hanako couldn’t be sure, but there was one thing that she had found in her recent days. Being a shinobi of Kumogakure was extremely lonely. She couldn’t really blame Chiaki for wanting to leave Kumogakure. Then dying. Perhaps she wasn’t supposed to care for Chiaki, but she did anyway, and the fact that she was gone truly hurt.

Hanako had grown older since then. Being forced to live on her own had helped her escape her childish inexperience, although she still had many flaws that were needing to be worked out. Some may call it a flaw, but one such flaw was her curiosity. As she watched a curiosity leaping around Kumogakure. She decided to follow him. Hanako leapt up from the streets, ping ponging across buildings and landed on the bridge on the opposite end from Damon. Hanako was wearing a black leotard that exposed the well defined muscles and thighs. She had a shuriken holster on each thigh and kusari katabira - the infamous shinobi chainmail mesh armor worn on top of the leotard. Her hands, arms and shins were all covered in bandages. From the way she moved, it was clear that her muscles were like coiled springs, yet she had full control. Control and power. A deadly combination.

”Hello.” Hanako started the conversation in a very Hanako type of way. Damon didn’t seem to be too much older than herself. It was clear he was around the same age as her, but he still seemed to carrying a sense of sleeplessness given the dark shadows painted on his eyes and the bed-head type style he was wearing his hair in. He was lean as well and it was clear that he had put in time and effort to refine his body into a weapon just as Hanako had. His clothing seemed very loose, as if to hide that physique of his, but Hanako had sharp eyes and wouldn’t easily be fooled by the fur jacket. ”I don’t think I recognize you. You weren’t a part of my class in the academy. Maybe you could have been the year before or the year behind. I didn’t interact with the other age groups in the shinobi academy. I had a lot on my mind back then, you see. I’m Hanako from Hanamura by the way. Have you ever heard of Hanamura? Its a small town that nobody has heard of, at least so far nobody I have ever met has ever been there. I just want to know if it actually exists you know? Its just a curiosity that nobody has ever been there when I’m supposed to be from there, you see when I was a child my Granny brought me hear and….” Hanako paused and inhaled deeply she was about to keep goin and saw the state that the boy’s face was in.

Her own face had remained perfectly neutral the entire time. Not for lack of trying either. Hanako was capable of making facial expression but they were incredibly muted. Those not perceptive enough would typically just see her making a blank face and that was pretty much teh case at this time. A blank face with a rather excited tone of voice. It was not facial paralysis however. She was quite capable of controlling her muscles into other expressions, its just that she had a difficult time figuring out what expression to make. She had always been like that, but at least in recent times it felt like she was starting to get the hang of it a little better.

He stood silently in thought, his gaze resting on the bustling crowds beneath him. He had heard the stories of the destruction of Kumo. Over ten years ago, a demon from another realm had torn this place apart. He couldn't help but wonder what it must have been like, that level of calamity set forth in an intersection like the one below. An ever-so-slight sour taste developed in his mouth as he continued to eye the crowds shifting about in the bustling metropolis.

He looked around, there wasn't a soul in sight, the bridge led into cobble stone alleys on both sides seemingly far off any major street.

He wondered if this trend would continue the higher he climbed the colossal dual peaks of Kumo, his eyes slowly wandering along the many tiers of structures between him and the top.

It was then that he noticed a shadow flicker into and out of sight.

He hadn't been able to react fast enough. The girl suddenly appeared on the opposite side of the bridge. His grip tightened, one hand instinctively slipping into the pouch fastened to his back.

She was fast, way too fast, a kind of speed that gave her an almost life threatening advantage. His gaze sharpened as he retraced the path she had used to climb up behind him. She wasn't just fast; she was strong. It had taken her fewer leaps to move from one mountain side to the other.

A quick glance at her was enough for him to know she was a Kumo ninja. Shinobi are monsters...

She looked like a human weapon. Shinobi are monsters...

Before he had any further chance to react, the girl suddenly opened her mouth and let loose probably the most random string of words Damon had ever been confronted with.

Stunned at first, he hesitantly decided that mirroring would be his best option while giving him time to figure out a proper tactic

"I studied in the Northern Academy. I only recently met some Kumogakure Genin during the Chunin exams, so I guess that's why... uh... uh..." He stumbled over his words while trying to keep her engaged. "No, no. I haven't ever heard of that village. I have traveled quite a bit in the northern regions and never came across it. Then again, there are so many remote villages there, who knows... uh... I actually just got here very recently. Say, have you heard of the Ishiguro Tower? I am trying to find it."

He might be able to make the best of this strange encounter yet as well as get a chance to asses some of the shinobi that dwelled in this acursed city.

The lad seemed on guard at first but the expression on his face it was clear that he was really confused. Then he began to speak and answered all of the questions that Hanako had been thinking. She got excited and clapped her hands at the display. ”that was amazing, it was like you were reading my mind.” She said this with the blank expression on her face still, though her body language definitely did not match her facial expression. ”sure I’ve heard about Ishiguro tower, who are you though? Are you a Kumogakure Shinobi or are you an outsider? I remember the last time an outsider came into Kumogakure, the hospital got blown up and then the Raikage killed them. After that Chiaki left the village but then I heard in recent times she was killed. I was really lonely when she died even though she was considered a missing ninja to Kumogakure she was still my friend and I miss her. I’m pretty much all alone here in Kumogakure no Sato - I don’t have Granny, or any other family. I’m staying in an apartment by myself. Oh yeah, you wanted to go the Ishiguro tower - you better tell me who you are and why you want to get there.”

Hanako in response to the question took a more defensive stance. It honestly would look a little silly the way she stood with her fists balled, not in any kind of trained stance but looking something like a petulant child - but it was all deceptive because her body clearly had the power behind her threat and if anything, her display from earlier hinted at the massive amount of speed and strength she could summon when the situation called for it. Her face however remained just as mute and blank as before, as nothing had changed regarding her ability to make expressions. She moved her left hand cautiously so that it now hovered over her shuriken holster that she had on her thigh. One wrong move and she would unleash a barrage of shuriken.

She had kept her chakra focused between her two fingers, ready to shoot anything that would try anything stupid, though she highly doubted that it would happen, no, she was just training her chakra pool, she needed to train how it was to waste chakra and still be able to pull from unknown sources, the idea wasn't to tire herself out no, it was to use as little as possible to gain as much as possible. She had already mastered the ability of control, so now she just needed to extend her ability to user her said jutsu.

I can't find excuses not to grow in strength anymore, Hotaru needs me more than ever and if I don't train to become stronger I will probably be discarded back to the Ishiguro's. She had no idea how the spy had managed to convince the family that she would keep Kirie on the straight and narrow but here she was, more worried about an agent than she was an entire family.

She thought about how awkward it had been when she was exhausted mid missions, Hotaru used taijutsu so she had her excuse as to why she could keep on going, her endurance was higher than her chakra pool. No matter, if she wanted to be freed then she would have to find her own way out and that was by becoming stronger than her master, she needed her freedom, from both the Ishiguro and Black ops. If I just hadn't been an idiot that day, I could've been free from all of this. I'd probably be a missing nin by now, roaming the world. She giggled.

Kirie had been ordered to keep an eye out on the one that returned, not from Black Ops this time but from her own family, she had done her best to keep her heritage under the book, so she hated being sent on these types of missions as they tend to put her front and center. She continued to walk down the path until she heard someone speak, piquing her interest for a second, until she noticed that the young woman was going on and on. Wow, the mouth on this one, I wonder if they think in between the words or do they just flow out? Kirie chuckled as she walked up to the duo.

"Wow, the mouth on this one right? It just never stops. Hi, I'm Kirie, nice to meet, you." The sociopath's hand moved to let Damon greet her properly, she wound inspect, check to see what his next move would be, all the while pretending to be this cutesy little woman who seemed to get her way. For Hanako she would appear a bit smug towards her as if she didn't like her, as if she told her to get away this was a family matter, it wasn't that she had anything against the woman, it was that she wasn't sure if this kid was a village ninja or not.

"So, what brings you home? She acted dumb, she needed to use every advantage she had in order to gather as much intel on him as possible without him realizing what was going on. Please don't be an enemy, I don't want to have to deal with a fight today but if I must I will, trust me kid, you don't want this smoke. Kirie still appeared cutesy as ever, selling the idea that she truly found him adorable. She was ready for whatever but from the looks of it, things would probably go smoothly, which was exactly what she had hoped for.

Damon stands, a mix of tension and curiosity in his demeanor as he observes Kirie, whose beauty momentarily captivates him, a distraction only cut short by Hanako's unsettling interrogation methods and the slightly odd defensive posture she takes on after.

It was palpable how the air around them seemed to get incrementally charged. An uneasy combination of anticipation and curiosity stirring among the three shinobi.

It did occur to the grey haired boy that there had been a mention of an escort arranged for him in the documentation provided to enter the city. A letter that had been addressed to him personally delivered all the way North to his Academy dorm. Damon wonders if it was referring to Kirie which indicated she would be part of the Ishiguro family. She sure dident look like it. Where are her beads?

"Ah, so you're the welcoming committee the Ishiguro family sent?"
Damon inquires, his voice laced with amusement. Despite the situation's oddity, he can't help but feel a pull towards Kirie, her presence holds an unexplainable allure.

“I am Ishiguro Damon, a recent chunnin,” his declaration meant for both of the girls standing before him.

“Its been more than 10 years since I have been to Kumogakure but I felt it necessary to serve my clan here and hone my skills, a pleasure to meet you both.” A short but appropriate bow followed.

It was a lie but an easy one to tell. He felt it was best to simply play the charade he had played many times before and would undoubtedly act out many more times to come: Your average eager shinobi.

Attempting to lighten the mood, he forces a chuckle, awkwardly, and continues “So I guess I have a lot of catching up to do.” He chuckles again unnaturally while rubbing the unkempt silver hair at the back of his head with nervous intent.

"A hospital got blown up? Geez, you sure are busy out here in the big city... what was that about?"

His casual inquiry masking a deeper intent, while remaining vigilant and focused on navigating the complexities of this encounter, all with the ultimate goal of reaching the Ishiguro Tower.

"Wow, the mouth on this one right? It just never stops. Hi, I'm Kirie, nice to meet, you." A woman said. She had long white hair, dyed it seemed, given the dark shade of the eyebrows. Pierced ears as well with metallic studs that sort of blended in. She had a petite body build, one that Hanako felt like she could crush with a single hand. She just lacked any type of muscle. Hanako could tell simply from the way she moved - it lacked power. What she had said seemed to be quite rude to Hanako. She didn’t change her facial expression because her facial expression doesn’t really change on account of struggle to understand her own feelings, but there was something that was starting to bubble up in Hanako. A decision. She didn’t like this woman. She had been rude after all. Hanako had never even seen this woman before. She looked for a Kumogakure headband. Was she a civilian then? Did just walk up and talk to Shinobi? Hananko was half a heart beat from just giving the girl the boot. BEGONE THOT. but she paused when Damon responded to her.

"Ah, so you're the welcoming committee the Ishiguro family sent?" He answered. Hanako dropped the defensive stance. If that was right, this meant that the Ishiguro had been expecting him. “I am Ishiguro Damon, a recent chunnin,” He identified himself at last. ”I am Hanako from Hanamura.” Hanako identified herself as well. ”I’m a genin of Kumogakure no Sato.” Though that remained to be seen for how much longer she would stay here. She was quickly growing bored with Kumogakure. She had just one person that she had considered as a friend here and that was Mariya. If it weren’t for her, Hanako would have just left and gone back to the Land of Stars and found a more permanent home there.

"So, what brings you home? It probably helped that Hanako was a girl herself and was not attracted to girls, and it probably helped that Hanako was already on a negative foot with this so-called Kirie, but this meant that Hanako didn’t find anything charming in the cute act. In fact, it only really served to annoy her. It was clear that this wasn’t even aimed at her in the first place. She was laying it on thick for the Ishiguro boy.

“Its been more than 10 years since I have been to Kumogakure but I felt it necessary to serve my clan here and hone my skills, a pleasure to meet you both.” The boy answered the girl’s question about his motives. Hanako, however, was already losing interest in this exchange it was more and more evident that she didn’t have any reason to be here. She folded her arms as she considered whether there was any more reason to stick around. “So I guess I have a lot of catching up to do.” the boy continued. He then turned his gaze back to Hanako "A hospital got blown up? Geez, you sure are busy out here in the big city... what was that about?"

”A Rogue ninja came into the village, but the Raikage killed them. Their fight blew up one of the floors of the hospital. It was one of Chiaki’s friends. Thinking back about it, makes me understand more why she would want to leave here. It feels like Kumogakure no Sato is a very lonely place lately. Anyway, I don’t have any business with the Ishiguro. I think I will go now. “ Hanako abruptly pulled out a smoke bomb from her hip pouch and smashed it on the ground creating a pillar of smoke.

She then left, using her Hanako Style : Rice Paper Walk. In the cloud of smoke and with her full speed neither would be able to see or hear where she had gone. Hanako would have literally gone up in smoke.

"Yes, I was told to meet you by the tower."

Kirie nodded when he mentioned the Ishiguro committee but quickly realized that she wasn't wearing her beads when the words escaped his mouth, she was so used to being a black ops agent that she never wore those anymore, her eyes darted over to Hanako who seemed, frustrated for some reason, Kirie didn't read her face and could in fact almost read her entire "mind", it was a dance the two of them had engaged in the second Kirie had said her first words, it was an invisible dance to those who had no idea how to engage in it.

"Ishiguro, A-." Kirie stopped, she couldn't pronounce her true name due to a black ops tattoo under her tongue, but with quick thinking, she filled in the blanks. "Asuna"

Hotaru had taught her the ways of the spies, to be able to keep a persona, slip under someone else's mask, and see what was going on inside their heads, Kirie's gray eyes Landon upon Damons, she could tell that the boy was lying, there were plenty of signs to indicate that the boy was hiding something, the way he tried to shift the conversation to the exploding hospital and so forth. It's not like you are going anywhere anyway, I'll find out what's hiding inside there. This way you don't have to be tortured at least. Kirie chuckled, waved her hand to apologize for interrupting, and continued to listen.

She was somewhat shocked to hear Hanako tell him about the situation but carefully listened to the words Hanako had said, she had been briefed about the ordeal and about how Chiaki had escaped with Hanako, in fact, she remembers how Hotaru panicked trying her best to figure out a way they could get this very girl back, What's so special about her? Kirie smiled and turned to face Damon again, Hanako had already mentally telegraphed it to Kirie that she wasn't comfortable here, her posture changed after the whole Ishiguro committee comment so when she left she wasn't really surprised, what did though was the fact that she made no sound, had she mastered the art of teleportation?

"That was weird, oh well, I guess I'll guide you to the Tower." Kirie nodded towards it and began walking in that direction. Maybe Hanako shouldn't have left, for now Damon was left with the sociopath who was there to determine if the boy was here for a good reason or if he was here for trouble, post the hospital situation, things had changed in Kumogakure.

Damon takes another bow as Hanako departs, "It was a pleasure to meet you, Hanako from Hanamura. I hope you find that village of yours." Moments later, she disappeared in a flash of smoke.

Truly, he was filled with a mix of intrigue and skepticism. "The speed at which she vanished… In the blink of an eye. For a Genin, that's truly formidable," he chuckled awkwardly at his own comment. Although his tone carried a hint of curiosity, laced with a subtle question about the plausibility of such advanced techniques at that level.

Was she lying about her rank?

Turning his attention to the girl that introduced herself as Ishiguro, Asuna. The boy's gaze softens. Behind the facade, he remains alert as he attempts to piece together the events and individuals involved in recent incidents in Kumogakure.

"This situation at the hospital... isn't it concerning? Do you know more about what happened?" He probes gently, his voice hinting at concern with a more genuine thirst for understanding the dynamics at play.

"This Chiaki," he continues, the name rolling off his tongue with a hint of confusion. "I must admit, I'm not familiar. Should I be? Seems important..." Damon's questions hang in the air, an invitation for Kirie to fill in the blanks.

Gratefully accepting her offer to guide him to the Tower, Damon nods appreciatively, a slight smile forming as he follows her. "I'm looking forward to seeing the tower again, and understanding more of what has transpired here in my absence. Your guidance is invaluable, Asuna." His gratitude seems genuine, even though his motivation didn't.

Damon's interaction with Kirie is measured, a dance of words where each question is strategically placed, and every answer is weighed for truth and insight.

As they begin their walk, Damon's thoughts turn inward, reflecting on the complex web of alliances, rivalries, and politics that define Kumogakure. How would he fit into this intricate web?

Looking ahead, he considers how their stroll to the tower might offer him a deeper insight into the village's pulse.

The conversation with his clan-kin, a careful blend of inquiry and sharing, sets the tone for his reintroduction to Kumogakure. He had to think of his mother.

This is why she left, wasn't it… all the lies they tell…

Each step towards the Ishiguro Tower, a reminder not just of the physical landscape but also the complex socio-political terrain of his home village.

Kirie wasn't sure about this kid, but she wasn't one to judge someone so quickly, even though she was rather sociopathic, she knew better than to jump the gun. With her fingers spread, she was still ready to shoot him if things were to be foul, but her mind seemed rather at ease around him, due to her being able to read him like an open book, she could tell when he seemed to be cooking up schemes, which she figured would be normal under these circumstances, and the odd questions he kept on asking to change the subject.

"It's a problem of the past, Chiaki is dead and so is Maido." Kirie kept her eyes on the tower as she spoke, she turned to face him and smile to lighten the mood, her eyes connected with his so that she could read him better. "We all play our part, the tower looks forward to your presence as well young one." Kirie continued to play the cute one, for that was her only way in as of now, she had forgotten her beads and to not arouse anymore suspicion, she had to play it cool.

So far so good, he seems to be a bit weird but he's probably not a bad kid. I do wonder what he has been up to. Kirie cleared her throat as she tilted her head. "So... Life outside the borders, how was that?" Asking as if she had never set foot outside, another lie that hid beneath the mask she was currently presenting. The sniper spy was always ready to play the game of who's who when the time was right, Hotaru had thought her better than to trust anyone, even her own master could be lying to her at any time.

Therefore, one would think that Kirie was lying, but truth was that she hadn't, the closest she had been was the border, when she investigated the deaths of four Kumo ninjas, apparently tied to Chiaki's escape and Hanako's kidnapping. No matter, what was important now was to extract as much information as she could from the kid, her eyes were fixated on him, but in a way that would make it appear as if she liked him, while in reality she was digging through his defences in hopes to getting the secret nuggets hidden behind those eyes. What are you hiding little man?

[Open] Welcome back to the tower

Hmm… Chikai, Maido, and their ties to Hanamura, I'll hang onto those names. It seems there's a lot more to the incident… I had always presumed it was the work of some evil spirit.

The boy shrugged again and transitioned into his awkward giggle, a nervous quirk as his fingers raked through his unkempt silver hair.

Kirie's presence radiated no malice, no hostility he picked up on; her vibrant spirit and allure stood stark against the stoic demeanor typical of most shinobi he had met so far.

But, no matter her motives, Damon knew to cloak his own objectives, keep his ambitions to himself, and play his dutiful charade with calculated grace.

Yet, amidst this peculiar trade of lies and deceit, he found a strange sense of joy, a fraction of an emotion, but something nonetheless. Even if it was a masquerade of camaraderie, it was camaraderie, something he hadn't experienced since before the Chunin exams, and as odd as it seemed, it was an unexpected solace.

He maintained keen awareness and mirrored her smile when she asked him about his former voyages.

He feigned another one of his carefree-sounding chuckles. "I've never traveled beyond our shores but…" his lips curled into a slight grin, "once atop a peak in the northern ranges, on a clear day, I saw it, a place beyond the sea, beyond the horizon." A pause lingered in his words as they stepped through the stone-laden alley. Then a broad smile unfurled. "Reikou Taishuu is what they called it… I'll be sure my travels will lead me there someday."

He chuckled a bit more before pivoting and inquiring about Kirie again.

"What about you, Asuna? How far have you traveled? Been up in the north before? You must feel quite cooped up in this city, no?"

What's your prison huh?

As the two cut into another alley on their stroll, the tower slowly unveiled itself, emerging from behind the mountainside, its grandeur a testament to the city's architectural marvel.

"Wow…" His awe was genuine; he still held memories of this place, blurs of moments, faint sounds of voices, but this structure was much grander than he recalled.

There was one thing, one emotion that had held true all these years, a yearning he had not let go of ever since his family parted through the gates of Kumogakure.

Unwillingly, his palms clenched into fists…

"Does the esteemed leadership of Ishiguro still reside at the peak?"

Maybe Kirie had been sent here for no reason, the more she listened to the boy the more she relaxed, had Hotaru been sent here then Kirie was certain that she would continuously drill the boy but from what she had gathered he didn't seem to be a threat to anyone but himself. Kirie wanted to chuckle but instead just nodded and listened to her relative speak. She gently nudged him on the shoulder, as a "look at you" when he said that he hadn't left the shores but had been up the peaks, she continued to smile at him, this time without using her cuteness to win him over.

"I have mostly been around this village, my place isn't to travel around, but I would be lying if I said that I don't want to... Oh! I remember I did get to travel to a Fisherman's village once during a Genin mission but that was ages ago." Some ninjas were raised to be defenders and not attackers, so Kirie pretended that Asuna was one of those ninjas, while in reality, the spy had already breached the borders with Hotaru multiple times that was where she could be herself the most, where she could play around with her personality until she found the one that got her the information she was after.

Kirie stopped walking as she smiled and looked at Ishiguro. "Yes, now, you just have to talk to the guards, tell them Asuna sent you and they will let you in." Kirie wasn't needed anymore, she had already assessed that the kid wasn't dangerous, and spending any more time around him at this time would probably be frowned upon by Hotaru, she'd probably say that if she felt that Damon was so innocent then why spend more time around him and not pick up another mission? Kirie shook her head as she chuckled, she bowed and waved him goodbye as "Asuna" would then started walking back towards one of the secret Black Ops outposts, she made sure that no one was following her as she made her way towards her next goal.

Hopefully I run across Damon again in the future.

[Open] Welcome back to the tower

Post by Davak » Sun Apr 14, 2024 1:39 pm

The sun peeked past the encroaching stone tower as it began its slow yet steady journey down the mountain as day dwindled into dusk.

Damon watched Asuna intently, as she shared her tales of future aspirations to leave the city behind one day.

The Ishiguro shinobi found himself adrift in his own memories almost losing track of the conversation himself as he fell into reminiscing about his journey that had led him here before the mighty tower of his ancestors once again.

And what a journey it had been, he didn't even know the child anymore that had left the brazen gates of Kumogakure all those many years ago, back when he still had a family.

And now he stood here once again; these few bittersweet moments of feigned companionship had stirred the realization about the kind of life he sometimes saw other people lead. People who didn't know about the deceit, the death, the evil, and the lies that ruled the world. People that lived in another world. Or at least, it seemed like that to him.

He barely caught on to the words the gorgeous girl shared with him, but he soaked up every moment of her captivating smile.

Wow… that must have been the most beautiful thing I've seen in a while

A strange thought that jolted through him.

He barely had a chance to say goodbye to Asuna as her sudden departure snapped him back from his reverie. He looked stunned for a brief second before managed a genuine smile, faint but true, and waved goodbye.

“Thanks, Asuna, really! I am sure you'll make it out of town sometime!”

The moment he stood alone before the ivory tower of his forefathers, the warmth left him in the breeze, replaced instead with a hard, steely feeling of wrath in his gut.

He knew why he was here, to drain this place of everything it had to offer, to take and take as much as he could before leaving it behind for good.

With a stern face and his mask pulled high over his mouth and nose, he approached the gate. Two Ishiguro guardsmen stood there, eying him as he came closer. Without another word, he pulled out the documentation provided to him and handed it to one of the two. The armored man, not a shinobi but most likely dangerous all the same, scanned the papers provided before calling out to someone on the other side of the gate in what Damon could make out to be some kind of courtyard.

“He's here.”

Moments later, a smaller, older man dressed in a robe hustled around the corner, his sparse but still clearly silver hair decorated in various beads made it clear he held some sort of importance in the clan.

“Damon! Damon child, come here! It is so wonderful to see you! My name is Yoshio. I am the widower of your great aunt. It's been so long, child, too long.” The strange man burst through the two guards and hugged Damon. The boy hated it; he could feel the hair at the back of his neck rise in contempt, his jaw clench, and his hand turn into a fist at this strange man's affection.

He rattled himself free of the embrace and returned to his charade, letting his hand run through the mane at the back of his head while he smiled awkwardly and replied, “Aha, aha, it's a pleasure to meet you, Gramps. Thank you for organising the documents and for sending Asuna to pick me up. It's been so long since I've been in Kumo; I wouldn't have found my way around.”

The man was perplexed for a moment. “Asuna?…” before seemingly skipping over this detail. “Well, of course, my child. It's only right to have you reunited with your family. Please, please follow me; let me take you up the tower.”

Damon followed the old man as together they entered the wonderfully decorated hallway and began climbing the marvellously sculpted stone spiral staircase up the massive complax. Yoshino told him about the complicated weave between the families within the clan, his father's house, his much more irrelevant mother's heritage, Yoshio's own marriage into that house, his rise to a prominent Ishiguro elder, and the pity that they all expressed at the fate that had befallen him, his mother, his father, and the rest of their extended family that fateful night in the mountains.

Damon only listened partly; none of it mattered. This man did not matter; there was nothing any of them could ever do. His despise for them was etched into his heart; he now only sought to drain them for as much power as he could possibly squeeze out of their frivolous husks. He would stay here and master denjutsu, each of their secret techniques; they were nothing more than stepping stones now.

And who knows, maybe one day if fate would have it so, he would have his revenge on the people that sealed his fate all those many years ago.

About an hour later, once the pleasantries were exchanged, and he had been introduced to some of his long-lost relatives, Damon found himself in a small apartment, just a door in one of the many levels and hallways of the tower, but apparently it had been the small apartment his parents had shared between themselves just before his father's death.

There was nothing in here that sparked even a single memeory for him. He slowly gauged the room and moved through the sparsely decorated living room into a small kitchen and lastly into a bedroom.

There, next to the bed, was a small picture in a frame on a table. Damon walked over, tears began welling up as he lifted the portrait.

A young family, his mother and father hugging with big smiles, while a small child sat on their lap with a much too similar smile. A smile he didn't even remember.

Tear drops pearled down his face; he hadn't cried since the death of his comrades before the exams almost a year or so ago.

Just before bursting out into full wailing, he caught himself and stopped his sobbing; he looked at the image again.

Hed amass enough power to never feel loss again. To never fear again. To never be weak again. And then he'd come for all those that caused this suffering; his wrath would snuff out every one of them. He'd usher in a world that did not know fear anymore.
