Once the flames had finally been subdued Takeo decided to take a half an hour break, resting at the top of the waterfall on the far end of the canyon that fed into the river. He made sure to drink plenty of water and eat a few protein bars and soon his chakra levels felt nearly at peak once more. This would be essential because he planned on training a great deal of powerful techniques. The most destructive of which he aimed to get out of the way while he still had plenty of energy to spare. It was something that he had been dabbling with for quite some time. The idea of adding to his repertoire of long-ranged projectile based jutsu. He had a few options with Katon but wished to utilize the offensive properties of Wind Style, using his own Strength to ensure an attack that could cover distance with considerable speed. The idea was simple in concept, to take the basic idea behind the rasengan technique, the sheer compression and rotation of chakra and then expand that to the likes of a Fuuma Shuriken and keep that rotation combined with wind style chakra to cut through an opponent with ease and then for added destruction release the build up chakra in an area of effect technique of devastating winds.

Unfortunately even the Hokage was not nearly skilled enough with chakra manipulation to infuse wind style into such a powerful technique without using handseals. Given that he intended this to be a long range technique that was of little consequence. Forming a long string of handseals, focussing on building up power, control and infusing wind style the man made many attempts at getting the balance right. The initial rasengan was easy, something he could perform through basic channelling however it was quite weak compared to what he intended so even infusing wind style would not be enough though it was a first step. It took him about twenty minutes to infuse a futon rasengan as an experimental technique, throwing it and watching it disperse after about 40 meters. He would need to put a lot more chakra into the technique and infuse more seals relating to control to keep its form over a long distance.

The number of seals needed for this technique seemed as if it would rival his most chakra consuming collection of jutsu. With this in mind he performed a very long sequence of seals that even with his incredible sealing speed took over ten seconds to perform. The amount of chakra he built up into his right hand was monstrous and he certainly hoped that there would be something to show for it this time. After all the attempts his breathing was quite heavy and his body was slick with sweat. He had already got the timing down for detonating wind infused rasengan and he had even perfected the shuriken shape, now what really mattered was the maximum range and sheer size of expansion and quality of damage. None of his previous attempts had been able to damage the 40 Strength Doton walls that lined the ravine. He had been sure to attack in different spots so as to not weaken the structure of any particular area by much. As the chakra gathered in his hand he could feel the massive difference in power of the swirling wind chakra, with a mighty throw the rasenshuriken was sent hurtling to the far end of the ravine, over 150 meters away. The Rasenshuriken struck the wall and bore through it like butter and with an additional handseal the swirling mass of chakra exploded outwards, turning the entire Quarry at the far and the formidable cliffside into a cloud of sand as a large crater remained.

He can then throw this Fuuton shuriken up to a distance of Controlx5= Meters. At any point along its travel Takeo can then form a single-handed seal, causing the RasenShuriken to rapidly expand at a speed of 40, spreading cutting winds with 50 Strength over a 100-meter radius, utterly decimating everything in the vicinity, cutting everything in the designated area into oblivion so that not a single trace remains.

Takeo was intent on training yet another jutsu that would be impossible to safely use while in the vicinity of allies of non-combatants. This was another technique that he hoped to never have to use, reserved for causing havok and mass destruction. Rather than setting the surrounding environment aflame however this jutsu would be of the Fuuton variety, aimed to draw in everything in close proximity and shred them apart while acting as a massive protective aura around the user in the middle. There were very distinct disadvantages to this technique. The foremost being that Takeo would likely have a much harder time tracking the movement of his opponents through the ferocious winds, the next was that it would be very susceptible to counter attacks, especially Katon should his opponent use the vaccum effect against him. He would have to be certain that either his opponent did not utilize high level Katon style or take precaution to protect himself with his Doton armor first. Given that as always he intended to leave a suitable safe zone for himself so long as he had Doton armor to protect from any initial flames he could still utilize Suiton to add to the winds, hopefully being enough to supress any flames.

Still, if he could manage to create enough distance to be able to utilize such a jutsu against taijutsu users or simply to be used against an army of weaker opponents the danger he could present to his enemies was considerable. For this jutsu he would train a few hundred meters outside of his ravine, deciding that his training area had taken enough punishment for one day. The immediate area was still quite sparse, an open field that extended for several kilometers in every direction though forested areas were still within eyesight.

Performing a similar set of handseals to the Dragons Tempest jutsu Takeo simply added 3 or 4 seals to increase power of the technique, enough to infuse chakra to last for quite a while. The winds swirled around him, filling his ears with the familiar sound of slicing air, the sound grew louder until it was nearly deafening as his chakra surged and the radius began to expand by a drastic amount. The Speed of the winds was considerably faster than the A-ranked jutsu and the strength of the cuts proved to be staggering. Even without a target to test it on, Takeo’s many years of experience and combat instincts were enough to tell him that few opponents or jutsu would be able to stand up to such a fearsome force. With little in the area to be consumed his view remained relatively clear, able to see a few boulders pulled into the vortex, shredded instantly and seeming to disappear and only tiny grains of sand remained to circulate around in the vortex. Eventually if he were to continue to consume material his vision would be blocked by the fine grains of sand, wood and potentially even flesh, blood and bone. Essentially he was creating a giant blender and he was left in the middle to watch it all.

The next part was perhaps the most important and that was his movement. He intended on shredding through countless waves of opponents or decimating infrastructure with himself as the epicenter. And so he took a few steps, noting that as he moved the cyclone around him moved by the same amount, keeping the space between himself and the cutting winds consistent at all times and great enough that he could comfortably extend his arms or turn about completely. There might even be just enough room for a handful of small people if they kept close to him, though the thought of protecting his children with such a risky jutsu was frightening. If anyone other than him were to move the winds would not shift and so even an accidental stumble into the wall of wind would instantly slice apart anything that touched it until nothing remained.

After forming the necessary hand seals the user will be surrounded in treacherous winds that extend for 75 meters in all directions. These winds are immensely powerful, cutting with 40 Strength pulling in anything within 10 meters of the outer circumference of the vortex with 40 Strength and dicing through everything caught within, while swirling around the user continuously at 30 Speed. Immediately around the user is a 3-meter diameter safe zone that ensures the users safety, moving with them as the winds continue to surround the user. This aura lasts for a maximum of 7 posts before dispersing.

Takeo panted as he released the vortex of wind around him. Taking another small break to wash his face and take off his shirt the man stretched out a little as his body had become quite warm. This next jutsu was an ambitious one though it would surely prove quite useful in the future. Not only could he use it to follow up for his own cavern creating techniques but he could find many situational uses if he ever were to battle in a natural canyon or rocky landscape. Most notably this would add to his arsenal of jutsu that could be used against exceptionally large targets or act as a large scale area of effect to trap large masses of lesser opponents or make escape more difficult for a stronger opponent. The problem of course always came down to the balance of the technique. He could make jutsu of exceptional speed and strength though the drain to his reserves made his use of such techniques very limited and moreover the casting time was often too great to use against other Bannin without high level allies to keep them busy.

As such he often attempted to utilize techniques closer to base S-rank that he could perform quickly and still have notable effect. This would be a technique that would attempt to blend those two ends. The primary purpose would in fact be to be used against slow and powerful opponents such as large summons and as such he would aim to max out the strength of the technique to strike with the most potent force he could muster, meaning its speed would suffer accordingly, especially given the large scale of earth he intended to move. It would have to suffice however. At the very least it would be useful against fixed structures and defences.

Taking position at the end of his canyon Takeo would form a lengthy set of seals, building up a massive amount of chakra throughout his body and flowing it into the ground beneath him. It would surge through the earth, spreading out along both sides of the ravine and saturating every bit of dirt and rock to a distance and depth of one hundred meters, being able to infuse even more should the ravine have been deeper. The earth would be reinforced with this chakra, the the point that it was nearly impenetrable, so strong that even if Takeo were to strike it directly with the strength of his own body it would not falter.

By the time his handseals were complete the entire area had been infused with his chakra and holding the final monkey handseal, the entire ravine would shift, slamming together suddenly at significant speeds, If anyone were to have been standing at the bottom of the ravine when his seals had been completed then it was safe to assume that only individuals whom possessed over forty speed would be able to escape, accounting for the distance they had to travel to get to the top before the width of the ravine was slammed shut by the walls which moved towards each other at thirty speed. The impact was staggering, the resounding slam nearly deafening as Takeo grimaced slightly, he knew there were not many lifeforms living within his training grounds, specifically because of the dangerous conditions though anything that had thought to make a home in the area since his last visit was surely dead now. Maintaining the handseal the walls would pull apart once more, actually making the canyon even wider and stronger then before, now spanning a full 120 meters apart and reinforced to ridiculous levels.

Takeo had gathered both of his bodyguards just outside of Konoha to engage with some training. The area was a simple open field about 500 meters across situated at the base of a mountain. There wasn’t any water within close proximity and so Takeo had already decided he wouldn’t be using Katon ninjutsu in this spar, in fact he intended on practicing some genjutsu concepts that he had been developing which he knew would catch his bodyguards by surprise. Nonetheless he had come outside the village because he knew each of them had been training on their own and likely had more they wished to work on and he wanted to see just how far they had come and what sort of jutsu they could muster without worrying about catching anyone else in the crossfire. “Let’s keep this fun and see what you’ve got. We’ll start out in a free for all match” he stated with a sly smirk.

Clearly he would be holding back considerably if he didn’t intend on allowing the two of them to team up yet both Toshiaki and Masuru were skeptical of how long such an arrangement would last. Neither wore their ANBU attire on this occasion, each standing out in their own way. The men spaced out to about 15 meters apart in a triangle before giving the go ahead. Takeo formed his hand seals, flowing chakra outward as he set up the genjutsu, the invisible surge of chakra would remain dormant in his opponents until the appropriate trigger was met, one that he had designated as a rather simple action for a simple but useful effect. As soon as the man reached for his kunai holster his targets would be suddenly blinded by a bright red flash of light. It was a bit of a sneaky tactic, one that could work well for combinations in the future especially considering that Masuru was a member of the Awai clan and utilized red light in the form of ninjutsu. Being able to effect an opponent in two separate ways by separate targets was a great way to increase the odds of success as well as create a sense of uncertainty on what was genjutsu and what was real. The best feature of this particular type of genjutsu however was that even if the target recognized it as genjutsu they would not simply be able to ignore it without making themselves quite vulnerable, similarly if they did release themselves there would be a moment where they had to form a seal and were unable to see, providing an opportunity to retreat or attack in that time span.

Toshiaki looked over his opponents, to think that former students of his would now fill him with so much wariness. Takeo had surpassed him many times over and even Masuru was physically much more imposing, at this relatively close proximity the only viable option was to create cover and retreat. He was vulnerable out in the open, though it wasn’t as if he couldn’t create Mokuton from the ground rather from existing trees he still felt uncomfortable not having the familiar cover to work with. Depending on how much the Hokage held back on him though he just might be able to display his true strengths, a skill in Ninjutsu, specifically Mokuton that was of a similar scale to the environment-altering jutsu Takeo often utilized. Forming a set of handseals quite quickly he finished his jutsu faster than either of his opponents. The problem however came with the fact that while there were leaves spread across the field, having been blown about by the wind and carried from the nearby forest, it would still take a few moments for them to gather together, some additional leaves and bits of pine forming from his chakra itself and adding into the mix. He intended on practicing genjutsu at some point that would incorporate the various scents of his jutsu though for now he wanted to reclaim his former prowess over Mokuton before branching out.

As the leaves began to swirl towards the group, Toshiaki’s keen eyes noted the reach for a kunai, reaching for one of his own in response as he was suddenly blinded by a red light. Naturally assumed it had been Masuru’s doing while he had been distracted by the motion for the weapon, leaping backwards and then turning to run he would hope that the array of leaves would provide some degree of distraction forming some cover and masking his scent well enough that he might be able to make some headway and if he was lucky Masuru and Takeo would engage one another first before chasing him down. From what he knew of Hiton jutsu and Masuru’s techniques specifically he figured the flash of light would only leave him blinded for about a minute or so. He had some time to come up with a plan. If he was feeling particularly risky he could even attempt to utilize one of his most powerful jutsu to turn the tide in his favor. Though perhaps waiting until his vision was restored would be more pragmatic.
