For reference purposes, this is Shikari and Zakuro's first meeting: viewtopic.php?&t=5831447/1/#new

It was a beautiful early morning in the summery Konoha as Shikari made her way down the street. Another day, another dollar. Shikari thought to herself. Well, if she were getting paid. Which she wasn't. Or was she? Well regardless, there she was, strolling her way down the roads of Konoha in the bright morning sun, weaving through crowds of people, each one moving along with their own purpose. Shikari's purpose for this day was slightly different than every day: She was going to teach. More specifically, she was going to meet with Zakuro, her temporary genin charge, and discuss their previous meeting. Gonna teach him not to kick stone bears. she thought to herself with a little chuckle.

Moving down the streets of the village, Shikari would occasionally glance at her surroundings, observing some of the townspeople as they worked together to rebuild some of the buildings damaged during the invasion. It was a sight that brought her both pride and sorrow. It was heart warming to see the people work together to right what had been wronged, but it simultaneously pierced her heart to know that she and the rest of the shinobi in the village had not been able to adequately protect the village and its people. It was a failure that she would not soon forget. It was a failure that she would amend.

Before she knew it, Shikari was in the training district, coming up on the very training ground where she had met Zakuro only a few days before. As had been the case then, she was the first one to arrive at the training grounds and now awaited the arrival of the genin. Today would be unlike the other day, however. Before, she had been assessing his skills. Today, she would be bettering them. As she had a few days prior, Shikari leapt into the very same tree as before and perched herself there until the genin arrived.

Zakuro was still slightly sore from his last encounter with Shikari, but he was still happy to train again. Life has been pretty boring for him ever since he left the Academy. He hasn't really had anything to look forward to, so this was truly a good moment in his life.

After his training with Shikari, he had limped all the way to the hospital, only to discover that his leg was indeed sprained. Luckily for him, the medics knew how to repair the damage. The only reminder of that day were the aches soaring through his body.

Unlike the other day, Zakuro wasn't sprinting to the field. He got there at a slow and steady walk.

Once arriving at the bright, sunny field, Zakuro looked around for his mentor. He looked in the back, around his general area, in the nearby forest. Nothing. He walked over to a nearby tree and leaned up against it, awaiting the arrival of Shikari. Hopefully he wouldn't have to wait too long. He was impatient enough as is.

"You know, after last time I would have thought that you would have at least looked up into the trees." Shikari called down to the genin as he leaned against the base of the tree, "We really need to work on your observation skills." She continued as she pushed herself off of the branch and landed gracefully on the ground next to him. She was seemingly much more cheerful than she had been the first time that they had met.

"I trust that your body has recovered a bit since our last training session." Shikari semi-asked, genuinely concerned that the genin hadn't taken any serious damage from her little training assessment of him. "To be honest, I hadn't expected it to get as out of hand as it did." Thinking back to that day, Shikari had used her stone creations as battle dummies to assess the battle skills of her temporary genin charge. As he fought, she recorded as many areas of improvement that she could and after a while it was clear that it had been one of his first times in actual combat.

"Today, you don't have to worry about doing too much actual fighting." Shikari told the genin as she approached him. "The last time we met, you struggled a bit with some of my stone creations and while you were able to defeat them in the end, you ended up using up every last bit of energy that you had." She explained, "So today, we are going to discuss battle strategy, primarily ways that you can shift the battle to your advantage. Tell me," she said, performing handseals as she walked, "Do you know what elemental strengths and weaknesses are?" As she asked, she completed the final handseal, bringing forth the same type of stone monkey that she had used against him before. After being created, the stone creature simply sat and stared at the genin, waiting for an answer.

How did he forget to check the tree? It was the most obvious spot for her to be in, and she had already chosen that spot in their previous encounter. She probably thought that he was stupid. He felt like he was.

Zakuro felt a wave of relief wash over him upon hearing that there would be no combat in today's training. Maybe today wasn't going to be as bad as he thought. There was almost a sense of happiness in the young boy's body. That was until he saw the monkey appear. God did he hate those things.

He looked from the monkey to the Shikari to the monkey again. He was constantly awaiting for it to turn alive and attack him. He slowly stepped away from it until he was approached with a question. Elemental strengths and weaknesses? He had no idea what that was. "I really have no clue what they are." Yet again another reason for him to feel stupid. Zakuro looked towards the ground. He didn't really like where this was going.

"I figured as much" she replied to the genin with a small sigh, "It explains why you didn't utilize them when you fought my stone creatures the first time." She said, reaching into her pocket. Moments later she removed a small folded piece of paper that she had prepared for the genin before the meeting. "This sheet of paper explains what elemental strengths and weaknesses are, but I'm going to explain them to you as well so listen up." She explained as she handed him the sheet of paper.

"Every elemental release utilized by a shinobi has a natural weakness to as well as a natural advantage over another element. Today we focus on the fire basic elements, Katon, Fuuton, Raiton, Doton, and Suiton." she began, watching the genin to make sure that he was paying attention, "Now I am sure you have learned what each of these are from your studies in the academy, and to be honest I'm surprised that you never learned about this in your studies as well, but each one of those five elements has an advantage over another. In the simplest of terms, Katon is strong against fuuton, fuuton is strong against raiton, raiton is strong against doton, doton is strong against suiton, and suiton is strong against katon. What this means is that when an elemental attack is used against an element that it is strong against, it is able to cause more damage to it than many other elements. Conversely, if you use an element against an element that it is weak against, you won't have nearly as much of an effect." By the end of her speech, Shikari paused for a moment and let the genin sort of let it all sink in. She was fairly certain that she had lost him. But, that was what the sheet of paper was for. If he actually unfolded it and looked at it, he would find that it explained everything that she had just explained to him, only it would rely more on the use of elemental symbols and diagrams than pure wording.

So let's use my doton creations for example. Now if you remember the last battle you had with them, you used a few fuuton techniques on them which really only had the effect of moving them away from you while doing a little damage. Now, while fuuton isn't weak against doton, it isn't the most effective element that you could use against it." She explained, "I also noticed that you have some talent with raiton techniques." She continued on, "Why don't you try using one of those on my monkey friend over there."

He tried to listen to what Shikari had told him, but his slow mind couldn't handle all of the information itself. She talked about the elements, and how some were stronger than others.

The only thing he remembered was that fuuton was strong against raiton and raiton was strong against doton. He never knew that he was strong against himself. Well in a way he was at least.

Zakuro had completely forgot about the piece of paper in his hand. If he had looked at it, he probably would have gotten a better understanding of what she was talking about, but alas he didn't.

At the mention of the monkey, Zakuro jumped. He half expected it to turn alive and start attacking him again. For the remainder of Shikari's speech, Zakuro looked from her to the monkey and back and forth.

When she told him to the demented monkey sitting next to him, he froze. If he hit it, then wouldn't it want to retaliate? This was his mind set as he slowly and cautiously weaved hand seals. His right hand was suddenly covered in electricity. With a quick dash of speed, Zakuro punched the demon with all of his might, determined to destroy it before it could activate.

And destroy it he did. As Zakuro's raiton cloaked hand struck the stone monkey it began to splinter and crack, sending pieces of stone everywhere, the piercing electricity compromising the stability of the stone. Within moments the entire stone monkey was reduced to crumbled stone, entirely unable to retaliate like Zakuro had feared. "Very good." Shikari said, "Notice how much easier it was for you to destroy it and how little chakra it took compared to your other techniques. That is the usefulness of knowing an element's strengths and weaknesses." She explained further, hoping that the genin would catch on. To be honest, she had been worried that it was going to take a while to explain the concept of strengths and weaknesses to the genin but she hoped that the actual physical example would help him understand better.

"Now if you don't have any questions, I want to see how you would handle the same situation that you faced last time now that you know how to make use of what you learned today." She said as she wove seals. Within moments, two stone bears and two stone monkeys would form out of the ground in the same half circle formation around the genin as last time. "Whenever you are ready, we will begin."

As he watched the monkey turn to rubble, a smile of relief spread across his face. He was so glad that he didn't have to fight it. Those things were a menace to society, and needed to be put down.

The lesson started to sink into Zakuro. He really understood what she meant by weaknesses now. His fuuton didn't do anything to the stone creatures, but his raiton seemed to work perfectly. He couldn't wait to try it in an actually fight.

Suddenly all of the excitement and enthusiasm was washed away from Zakuro's face. Four stone figures arose from the ground. Two monkeys, two bears. Just like last time. A bead of sweat dripped down the side of his face. Even though he knew that they were probably going to kick his ass again, he decided that he wanted to fight. If it meant that he was going to get stronger, then he was willing to do anything.

He nodded his head. "I'm ready, send them at me." Zakuro prepared himself to fight. He was ready for anything.

Shikari suddenly had a flashback to the last time that she and the genin had trained together. Here they were, in the same situation, with him surrounded by the exact same stone creations as before. Only this time, the genin was better informed and his confidence showed. Hopefully that meant that he would fair better in this fight than he had the last.

"Very well." Shikari said with a nod of her head. Just as before, the four stone creatures suddenly burst into action, each of them dashing towards Zakuro with a mindless charge. Using the same tactics as the previous fight, the two stone monkeys dove though the air at him, one barring its teeth at him, ready to bite, while the other somersaulted in an attempt to smash him with its tail. Meanwhile, the two bear cubs charged him as well, one of them attempting to swipe at his legs with its sharp little claws while the other aimed a little higher.

To ensure that she was out of the way, Shikari leapt back into the tree, this time ready to actually watch the entire fight. While she would be taking notes on his performance once again, she was hoping that the list would be dramatically shorter.

Zakuro had already started weaving hand seals by the time she was done talking. He notice that there attacks were the same as last time, so he knew what would happen if he tried to dodge it the same way. Suddenly a clone of Zakuro appeared. It instantly moved to stop the somersaulting monkey.

Zakuro had hoped that he would've been able to do more, but the clone got hit by the attack and exploded. He didn't look back at the clone, instead Zakuro was already moving away from the fight. He wanted to make sure he was far away from the attackers. This would give him more time to think.

Rai ran through the woods, carefree and being followed by Kuro and Tora. She had gotten the information from one of the other org members that Shikari had headed this way and while she was in no rush to get there what was the point of walking when you could run? Feel the cool breeze rushing all around you, feeling as though no one could catch you if they tried. There were days that Rai never wanted to stop running and she felt like she could do that. Just go on and on and on until...something new happened.

Unfortunately, today was not the day for that, not as she picked up Shikari’s scent and adjusted her course accordingly. She was at the training grounds - perfect. Rai was itching for a spar and had hoped that that was where Shikari was. Kawa was around but fighting with him was less like a spar and more like getting mauled by a large animal that then proceeded to laugh at your pain. Sure, the giant animal normally carried you home, or to the hospital, or at least to HQ but still. It was exhausting. At least with Shikari it was a somewhat fair fight.

Leaping into the trees, Rai was about to call out when she realized that Shikari wasn’t training and she wasn’t alone. A Genin she had never seen before was trying to fight Shikari’s stone creatures and he was doing...a really poor job of it. Perched in the tree, she sought Shikari’s gaze, her eyes sparkling. What on earth was she doing out here with this kid?

" Shikari! Why’re you beating up on some poor Genin? What did he ever do to you!? " Grinning wickedly, hands grasping the branch between her feet Rai looked down on the Genin again, wondering if he’d be able to protect himself or not, having missed the beginning of the fight.

The electric waves dispersed when the clone was destroyed significantly damaged the stone monkey that it hit. The pieces of stone that made up the lower half of the monkey's body were suddenly broken apart, leaving the monkey with only its upper torso, arms, and head. It was essentially rendered useless. As the genin began moving away from his starting position, the mindless stone creatures that were left began chasing after him in a widespread pattern, his significantly higher speed being the only thing keeping him from suffering from their rampage. Once the creatures caught up to him, if they ever did, they would undoubtedly charge at him and attack any opening that he gave them.

Though she had been hoping for a more aggressive start, Shikari was glad to see that the genin was utilizing some of the advantages that he had over the doton creatures. She had been intently watching the battle until she suddenly heard a voice in the distance. Was it calling her name? Shikari looked around and saw a figure approaching her with two smaller animals trailing behind it. "Rai?" Shikari said as she squinted at the figure, clearly not loud enough that the chuunin would be able to hear her. "RAI!" she called out, finally confirming what she thought she had saw. Disregarding what was going on with her genin charge, Shikari fully turned her body to face her friend, both surprised and delighted that she was there. "I wasn't expecting to run into you here." She said with a smile, "It's a long story actually. Apparently the higher ups decided that it would be a good idea for me to be a mentor to a genin and, well, there he is." she explained, making a quick hand movement to indicated Zakuro. "Can you believe that? Here I am trying to work through a mountain of the org's paperwork for Kawa and they decide to stick me with a genin." She complained, her annoyance with her superiors quite apparent. "I didn't know what to do with him the first time we met soooooo i made him fight my stone animals." she continued, "He didn't do so well." she revealed, her delighted smile becoming a wicked grin. "So today we had a little lesson and then i decided to give him a second shot." She gave a quick look over her shoulder to check on the status of the training and turned back to Rai. "So what brings you here?" She asked the chuunin, "You're welcome to watch with me. It's sorta entertaining sometimes." she admitted, though she didn't say why it was entertaining.

Zakuro had started changing directions when he got a good distance away. If he did a quick turn he would've fallen over. He just didn't have the strength to stop himself and turn, so he decided to stop slowly before turning around and facing his opponents. He saw them coming at him. They seemed to approach him quickly. Zakuro quickly started weaving hand seals. There were three things coming at him and he needed to take them out.

While moving backwards to keep a distance between him and the attackers, Zakuro continued his hand seals. Suddenly his hands shot forward and a small blast of lightning came out of his hands. It was aimed towards the damned monkey. Hopefully it would do enough damage so that Zakuro could deal with the other two first.

Zakuro weaved hand seals and his right hand became covered in raiton chakra. He was preparing to defend himself for when his targets came to attack him.

Rai winced, watching the fight, as she made her way through the tree tops to come to a stop by Shikari. The girl definitely seemed stressed and Rai couldn’t blame her. Everyone was still swamped after the invasion and here they were sticking her with some Genin to train. It was needed, more was being expected from the Genins lately but still. It was something that took up a lot of time and something that most wouldn’t take kindly to.

" The fun part I see already. And if this is better then I shudder to think of what the first time looked like. Are you sure you’re teaching him anything or just hoping that he dies in a freak accident or something? Death by monkeys? For shame, Shikari. "

Watching a bit longer, Rai wondered if fighting creatures that were so predictable was really helping him any. Sure they were strong enough but with one goal in mind they were fairly easy to predict. If he really wanted to get good he was going to have to fight against something that could act on its own. Be a real challenge. Something...or someone.

" Well, I was actually going to see if I couldn’t interest you in a spar. It’s been too long since my last one and I need something to do. Need to release some stress. Need...something. But...you know. If your little ward needs some help… " Rai flashed Shikari a smile that was supposed to look charming but with her sharpened canine teeth it was impossible to keep the devilishness out of it completely.

" I’d be more than happy to help him along. "

"Well, prior to this current meeting, he tried to beat one of those stone monkeys with a sword and head-butt the other one." She replied to her chuunin companion, "Apparently he didn't know that his raiton techniques were strong against my doton ones." As she mentioned this last part, she watched as the genin fired off a bolt of lighting, striking the second monkey and shattering it into pieces. "So yes. I believe that I have taught him something."

With the second monkey shattering into little stone pieces, the only real threats left to the genin were the two stone bear cubs. Being mindless stone creatures, each of them charged at Zakuro with reckless abandon, one of them launching into the air to tackle his chest while the other one attempted to tackle him at the knees. Both would be easy targets for the genin's raiton covered fist.

"Why Rai," Shikari began with a wicked grin, "Are you suggesting that I subject this poor defenseless genin to a rigorous sparring match with you that he has no hope of winning?" She asked with a hint of a sarcastic tone. The non-verbal assent to the proposition would be clear between the two. "Better him than me, I guess."

When Zakuro finally finished off the other two stone creations, Shikari would call the genin over to explain the next step of his training.

Zakuro felt extremely relieved to see that the monkey menaces were gone. He had done it. He had killed those damn things. Now all that was left were the bears. Luckily for Zakuro, these guys were slow as can be, and didn't serve that much of a challenge. With his raiton covered fist, Zakuro swung at first bear aiming to attack his chest. Once that bear got destroyed, Zakuro would hold the other bear down while he smashed it's face in until it broke.

The fight was over. Right after he finished off the last bear, he heard the voice of his mentor. She called him over to her. Zakuro walked in her direction, heavily breathing. The fight had made him slightly exhausted. He wondered if she was going to tell him to go home.

Zakuro would wait there silently until she spoke to him. He hoped that she was going to congratulate him.

The grin of having permission to beat up a Genin was still on her face when Zakuro stood at the bottom of the tree the two girls were sitting in. Winking at Shikari, she dropped down next to the boy, putting her arm around his shoulders. Kuro and Tora weren't far behind, converging in from the sides, Kuro looking his usual nonchalant self and Tora a wriggling mess of excitedness. Looking the Genin in the face, Rai couldn't stop grinning, trying to not laugh.

" Hey! I’m Rai. Shikari here has been telling me all about your training exercises. She says that you have been greatly improving in the short time she’s known you. Buuuttt that he’s worried you need more experience with hand to hand combat. " Rai grinned at him again before turning him back towards the training area.

" I’m stealing him now, Shikari! Any last words of advice for our friend here? I hope you don’t mind me stealing your star pupil or anything. I’ll return him in one piece...probably. "

Facing the Genin towards her and backing up a few paces, she held out her hand.

" Show me what you’ve got. "

"You did well, Zakuro." Shikari said as the genin approached. "A lot better than last time. You kept your eye on the target and utilized their weakness to your advantage, just as I taught you." After a moment's pause, she spoke again. "Your training isn't over yet, however. Now you get to move on to the next round."

Shikari gave Rai a nod of approval as the Chuunin jumped down from the tree and landed on the ground. Watching as Rai introduced herself to the genin, Shikari just shook her head quietly, wondering if she should be ashamed of subjecting her poor genin student to what she knew was going to be a hopeless battle for him. Sure, the kid was fast, but he was also naïve and inexperienced as compared to Rai. Even if Rai didn't utilize Kuro and Tora, the kid was screwed.

Shikari took a moment to ponder what advice she could give the genin before the fight began. Realistically, there wasn't much that she was going to be able to give him. "Make sure that you are smart with your movements." Shikari called out in an attempt to offer advice, "If you attack too hastily and without thinking, you will give her an opening and you can be sure that she will take it. Trust me." Pondering for a moment on whether or not there was anything else, she added a simple "Good luck. You'll need it." That was Shikari, ever the pessimist. With that, she sat back in the tree, prepared to watch the fight unfold.

Zakuro had no idea what he was getting into. As soon as Rai put her arm around him, his face turn the color of a rose. He never spoke to girls as he was very much disliked in his academy class. It didn't help that Rai was pretty, and close to his age.

He heard the words of Shikari. She told him to watch his attacks, so he didn't create an opening. He had heard this kind of advice a million times before. The problem was that thinking about something and doing them were two very different things. Zakuro had no clue how people strategize in combat. There just wasn't enough time to think.

Upon seeing Rai's outstretched hand, assuming that she was wanted to shake hands, Zakuro grabbed it and shook his arm up and down. After that spectacle was done he took a couple steps back, and got into a fighting stance.

Rai did nothing but stare at her hand for a minute after he shook it. Was he that dense? She had wanted him to..attack...well okay then. It looked like he was going to learn a very rough lesson. Giving up the first punch, the first attack, it was a bad idea. Maybe in friendly brawling it was considered fair to give your opponent the first hit but not in a battle. Not in a life or death situation. It could spell the end nearly immediately. There was never any telling what talents people had.

Sealing quickly, faster than Zakuro might be able to follow, Rai released a string of Jutsu. The first was simple, likely to confuse him. A small ball of water throws at his face and chest. When it hit him, he would smell the light smell of rose. However, Rai’s hands were instantly back into seals, a small grin on her face the whole time. The dogs were off to the side, not needed for now. Depending on how long he lasted, she might involve them. Teach him how to fight against a different species.

As soon as the Gen was activated Rai watched passively, highly doubting that he had the ability to get out of the Gen. Once he was on his knees she would walk up to him, squatting and looking him in the eye.

" Lesson number one, my version. When you’re fighting against someone stronger than you, don’t let them hit you first. "

Standing up and putting distance between them again, she would cancel the jutsu and again stand in front of him, her eyebrows raised. Waiting for him to make a move. Hopefully he’d manage it this time.
SpoilerShow
[Rose]
E-Rank Suiton Ninjutsu
This jutsu is used as a predecessor to another Suiton jutsu. After the hand seals are complete, the next Suiton technique will be infused with the scent of a rose. Anything that the Suiton soaks into will then smell like rose until the scent is removed by other means. This jutsu must be used in the same post as the second Suiton jutsu.

Raindrops
D-Rank Suiton Ninjutsu
After forming the necessary seals, the user will form a baseball sized ball of individual raindrops either in their palm or sitting on another surface. This ball can be thrown or hit, however, once enough force is applied to the ball, the raindrops will separate from each other, the radius they cover being an average of four meters though this can be increased or decreased depending on outside sources.

Aqua Vines
C-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
Prerequisite: [Rose]
After proliferating the battlefield with the scent from Scent of Rose, the user weaves a set of handseals. Any person who can smell the perfume from Scent of Rose is caught in this genjutsu. Three tendrils of water will transmute into rose vines and shoot towards each victim of this genjutsu, wrapping around their wrists and neck, pulling them back and apart with a strength of three as they attempt to pull them to the ground. If they have less than three strength, they are brought down to their knees. After this initial contact, the vines will grow, wrapping around the rest of the victim's body. If the victim's strength is less than five, they can break free after three full posts of struggling. Otherwise, the target can break free, dispelling the technique. Otherwise, this technique lasts for four posts.

Shikari winced slightly as she watched Rai blast Zakuro in the face with the water droplets. It wasn't so much the impact that made her wince so much as the knowledge of what Rai was doing to him. Or, at least, what she was going to do. She knew Rai well enough to know that whenever the chuunin used that specific technique it was almost always in order to set up for one of her scent based genjutsu. Sure enough, mere moments later, Shikari watched as the poor genin was affected by the genjutsu, seemingly pulled to the ground by an invisible force.

Silently, Shikari hoped that the genin would understand that he was in a genjutsu. In the back of her mind, though, she knew that it was entirely possible that he wouldn't. "Hey, don't go implying that your lessons are more important than mine." Shikari called out to Rai, "Maybe I should have thought twice about unleashing you on him." Clearly having no intention of trying to correct the mistake, Shikari remained sitting in the tree. "I mean, the poor kid probably doesn't even realize that he is in a genjutsu right now." Leaving the statement hanging in the air, she paused for a moment before continuing. "Then again, he should probably learn what it's like at some point. Carry on."

Zakuro watched as Rai's hands moved at an extremely fast speed. He could only see blurs, but guessed that she was performing handseals. Zakuro instantly thought that know was his chance to attack. He hurled his body at her with a fist raised when suddenly water hit him. He couldn't help but to stop and smell his shirt. It was soaked with what smelt like perfume

Suddenly tendrils of water reached out towards Zakuro. Before he could react, they turned into weird rose things, and wrapped around his body. He was forced to the ground. He struggled to break free, but his body couldn't do it. He heard talking come from Shikari, but he zoned it out. He needed to spend his time figuring out how to get out of this. Suddenly Rai spoke to him.

Zakuro did have a sneaky suspicion that she wanted him to start the fight. He thought that he'd be nice and shake her hand. It was a sign of respect, but obviously in this fight, Zakuro was going to have to fight a little dirty or he wasn't going to win. Although more than likely he wasn't going to win anyways. He was fighting someone much stronger than him, and he was already tired from his previous fight.

Then Rai backed up and the jutsu ended. He was free to move as he pleased. Zakuro instantly got to work on handseals. Suddenly a replica of Zakuro appeared along side him. Zakuro continued with more hand seals. The clone ran at Rai. After completing the handseals, Zakuro followed behind him, but stayed far enough so that he wouldn't be hit by the blast. When the clone was easily destroyed, he would charge in with a raiton covered punch.

Shoulders shaking slightly with laughter at Shikari’s words, Rai watched Zakura stand up from where he had been pulled to the ground. " My thinking exactly, Shikari! Couldn’t stop me if you wanted to~ " It had been a long time since Rai had had this much fun. Something about putting Genin in their place, pushing them around a bit, showing them where they could and should improve was nothing short of enjoyable. It was for his betterment too, not only for her. Or rather, that was what Rai told herself as she hurled a kunai at the chest of the clone that was running towards her.

It dispersed into its shock of Raiton but was far enough away that Rai could hardly feel the charge through the air. The real charging Zakuro would be sorely disappointed when his fist never even reached her. She was almost disappointed in herself as she found herself doing exactly what she hated when fighting with Kawa. Completely shutting down the trying opponent. Her hand clasped around his wrist and she spun in a fast circle, sending him back the way he came from.

" I’m not a stone creature! I react faster and am not at a disadvantage to your affinity. You’re going to have to think harder than that. "

She had clearly been spending way too much time with Kawa, Rai thought to herself as she glanced back at Shikari and shrugged slightly. Waiting to see if Zakuro had another attack in him.

The clone in front of Zakuro dissipated into a cloud of lightning. It slowly drifted into the surrounding area, but the Genin pressed on. He was still determined to land a hit. Suddenly Zakuro's hand was caught. He felt the strength of the grip on his wrist. She was stronger than him. In a second Zakuro found himself flying through the air. He felt a second of serenity before crashing into the hard ground.

He knew right there that he wasn't going to win the fight. His breaths were short and raspy. His body was sore all around. He was starting to wonder if it would be better to just lay their and save himself a beating. He looked over at his opponent. Something about her almost seemed like she was enjoying beating him up. At that moment he decided that he was going to fight until he couldn't move. He wouldn't let her see him give up.

Zakuro reached a hand out, and used it to lift himself off of the solid ground beneath him. He swore under his breath as a sharp pain echoed through his wrist that was recently grabbed by his opponent. His body lifted from the light brown dirt. He stood up and watch the woman before him. His goal was to at least make her wake up sore this morning.

Zakuro's arms dragged towards his face, and his hands formed into fists. He wasn't sure how to go about fighting someone who was a lot more skilled than he was. He just knew that he would have to close the gap between them. This time Zakuro wouldn't leave his clone so open for attack. Zakuro's feet walked towards Rai as his hands moved together to form seals. Suddenly his hands were covered by arcing electricity. A slight buzz filled his ears, but he wasn't bothered by it.

Suddenly he sped up. He was charging right for her while performing more hand seals. He would finish his jutsu right only a couple yards away from her. He would like to see her avoid his clone when he appeared this close. They were both coming in for a strike. Zakuro would aim for her stomach, and the clone would aim for her head. In the case she grabbed Zakuro's wrist again, he would just swing his other arm at her stomach.

OOC: Sorry myself, been busy with work

Rai grinned as he ran closer to her, his arms coated in lightening and still sealing. He was learning if nothing else and a ninja that couldn't learn and adapt was useless. She didn't know what he had planned and she was torn between letting him get close to hurting her and completely shutting him down. It would be easy to do so, a few quick seals and she would be up sitting by Shikari while he ran into a rock or a tree branch or whatever she so happened to change stance with. Or she could let him get closer, deflect his blows, but let him end the fight with a little bit of dignity. She didn't have much time to consider but decided that there must be an in between.

The clone wasn't a surprise. During an uneven fight having an extra body to fight with you or even to just be a distraction was incredibly useful. It was a good move if executed properly...and if your opponent was afraid of what the other option was. Sinking down into her stance, Rai dove towards the real Zakuro, her teeth bared. Not even attempting to avoid the strike towards her stomach. He was tired, even if she was worried that he knew high ranking techniques that would be dangerous to her there was no way he had enough Chakra to pull them off. This told Rai that it was a weak technique and she could ignore or fight through any consequences of the attack.

Indeed this was what occurred, the additional strength of the Raiton causing her to wince but not deterring her. Rai caught his upper arm in her mouth, mostly shirt and not hard enough to cause much damage and twisted her body to bring him to the ground. Grabbing his wrist in her one hand she used the other to draw out a Kunai both to make a point and in case that clone needed help disappearing.

"Not too shabby at all. What do you think, Shikari? Does he pass?"

The way of the ninja is deception, but many shinobi take it for granted that in a taijutsu battle, their opponent will just be fighting with his arms and legs. That’s why many opponents may be caught off guard when Inuzuka clan members readily put their abnormally strong teeth to work, biting down on exposed areas of their opponent during combat, especially the jugular. Users with high enough strength and taijutsu are even able to stop blows by biting down on the opponent's arm or leg before counterattacking with their unoccupied hands and feet.

The fight had ended just as Shikari had expected, but she had to admit that she had been surprised by the genin a few times; especially towards the end. Though he likely knew that his chances of winning were next to none, he had come at Rai with everything that he had rather than just giving in and on top of that he actually showed some tactical thought in his attacks against Rai. Compared to the first time that they had met, Zakuro had already showed a significant amount of improvement, a fact that pleased Shikari.

"I think he's got potential." Shikari replied as she jumped down from the tree. Landing with her typical grace, Shikari walked over to where Rai held the genin in place. Nodding to Rai, indicating that she could release him, Shikari turned to Zakuro. "We have an offer for you." She began, hoping that the genin had enough energy left to pay attention, "Rai and I are two of the three leaders of the organization known as Mamorinuku. It's an organization dedicated to the defense of the village on multiple fronts." She explained, "Normally membership is restricted to individuals of higher ranks but we have openings for genin trainees." she continued, pausing for a second to give Rai a quick glance and then nod, "We would like to offer you a position as one of the genin trainees."

The counter attacked happened in an instant. Zakuro expected to be able to deal a lot more damage to her when his first punch landed, but that wasn't the case. His fist didn't do anything to her. When his fist connected if felt like he had hit a wall. Zakuro could tell that she had a lot more muscle than what was evident by just looking at her.

After his punch landed, Zakuro had no time to react to her attack. She bite his arm and threw him into the ground. Zakuro hadn't expected the bite at all. As soon as he felt her mouth tighten on his arm, he felt his body smash into the ground beneath him. His mind couldn't keep up with her speed.

Defeated, Zakuro laid on the ground with his eyes shut. He felt the warmth of the sun shining on his face. A bead of sweat ran down from his hairline to his ear. His blonde hair fell back toward the ground beneath him. The black head band that held the symbol of his village gleamed against the sun. Suddenly, Zakuro noticed a weight that was on top of him. His eyes opened up and he saw the victor, Rai sitting there with a kunai in hand. He couldn't help but think about how cute she looked. His cheeks turned a bright shade of red.

Suddenly he heard talking commence, and his attention turned to Shikari. She talked to him about an organization. Something that would allow him to protect the Leaf. Maybe he could learn to be able to do something in case another ninja attacks the village. Maybe he could actually help next time.

"I accept."

Shikari could help but give a little laugh and nod of acknowledgement at the genin's response. She and Rai had just given the kid a beating and yet, without any hesitation, accepted their offer to join them. Either he liked the hurt or he genuinely wanted to help. Maybe both. Either way, he was another body for the organization to train and develop for the betterment of the village. Unzipping her waist pouch, Shikari shuffled around inside of it before pulling a small thick papered business card out of it.

"This is my business card." Shikari said as she handed the card to Zakuro, "The organization's name and address are on the back of it. New member orientation is every morning at 0800 sharp. Make sure to be there." She explained to him before turning to Rai. With a large grin and a small nod, she and the chuunin began walking towards the exit of the training grounds, only getting a few yards before Shikari stopped to turn back to the genin. "Oh and make sure to bring something to write with. There's going to be a lot of paperwork to fill out." she said before she and Rai continued walking, Rai's canine companions not far behind them.
