Waking up with the sun has become a fairly rare occurrence for Kuodachi since he became a Chuunin. Now, unless he had a mission, he often found himself sleeping in hours after the sunlight made its way through his curtains, ignoring the annoyance with ease. Today, however, Kuodachi had woke quite early. He was determined to get a solid days worth of training in on his free day!
After gearing up with all he had, he made the short walk from his home to a training field near to the academy. It was generally only used by academy students or recent Genin graduates, so there wasn't a single soul in sight. He didn't really desire company, seeking a day of lonely training, so it was perfect. His personal training ground needed some work after an extremely violent incident that left it only a fragment of its former glory. Thus, he was forced to venture out in search of a new place to train.
Getting right to work, he started with some stretches before heading right into a jog around the area. Stretching and a warm-up would get the juices flowing before he got into more serious training. He had big plans for the day, along with a bag full of training scrolls to read into.

The owner of the eyes, a blonde kid. He couldn't recall ever meeting this person. Redirected his jog to be directed at the boy, he wondered what he could possibly want. He'd received a mission in this fashion once before, could that be it? Whatever it was, it had better be important to interrupt his training.

The young man moving back was odd. Perhaps he had a bigger bubble than most. Regardless, the question threw his theory through a loop. No missions summon. At first glance, he was not sure if the boy before him was a chuunin or a genin. He seemed young enough to be a Genin, but then again, so did Kuodachi. With a shrug he responded with a smile and a shrug, "Sure." Turning his back, he began walking towards the far end of the training field. From over his shoulder, he warned, "Don't let my looks fool you. I'm stronger than I look." When he made it to the far side of the field, he would turn and say, "Ready when you are," standing normal with a goofy smile on his face. His pale blue eyes would be set on the opponent, waiting for a move.

Zakuro sized up his opponent. He looked scrawny and weak. He would be an easy person to fight, or so Zakuro thought before remembering that he looked just as scrawny and weak. Maybe this fight wasn't going to be so easy after all. The worst part about fighting a shinobi is that reguardless of size, one can never tell the skills that they hold in their mind. You could be the weakest person on the planet, but could also know millions of S class ninjutsu.

It had been awhile since Kuodachi had the opportunity to spar with anyone. Now, he found himself excited about the prospect here. He had no idea what rank the individual before him was, nor did he care. If he were a Genin, Kuodachi would not go easy. If he were a Chuunin, he'd have fun, win or lose. If he were a Jounin, however unlikely that might seem, this would be a concrete test of all his training up to this point.
As his opponent gave no hesitation in starting his charge forward, Kuodachi was surprised by the speed behind the boy. He was fast. Plenty fast enough to be Chuunin level, but then, Kuodachi was fairly certain he could have matched the speed when he was a Genin. Though, that really gave no weight to the argument as Kuodachi was simply a fast Genin, as this boy well could have been.
Kuodachi would meet the charge with a lack of movement. He still stood there, that goofy smile plastered on his face. His light blue eyes locked onto the boy as he began his own series of handseals. Seeing as his opponent was charging, it was clear he was attempting to force close range fighting. Perhaps that was his strength. Kuodachi would start with a jutsu he knew well until he knew for certain whether or not he had any sort of advantage against his opponent. Finishing the handseals with his eyes watching every movement his opponent made, he'd ready himself for the clash with his stored jutsu primed to be utilized in its traditional, defensive manner.

A disk barrier would appear at the end of his finger to meet the strike with an expulsion of force once contact was made. The force would send his fist backward, jerking his shoulder in the process. It would be enough force to potentially take the body with it. Either way, Kuodachi would follow up with another series of handseals either taking place in the moment the boy would need to regain his balance, or in the empty space made by the boy's tumble. Should he finish the handseals unimpeded, a clone of Kuodachi would appear right next to him. Both would be sporting that goofy, and at this point, potentially unnerving smile as their eyes rest on Zakuro.

Upon contact being made with the barrier, the barrier pushes whatever hit it back with the strength of Kuodachi's control up to a maximum of 7 and vanishes.

Zakuro felt a slight amount of pain in every movement, but that didn't stop him. He started reaching for the fuuin on his back until he noticed the clone. It wasn't long until he noticed the stupid yet creepy smile plastered on their faces. Weirdos. Zakuro started circling around his opponent, not losing track of the one that was real. He started doing hand seals. If he lost sight of the real one, then there was going to be a problem. Zakuro finished the seals and a clone appeared next to him. It went for the clone, while Zakuro touched the fuuin on his back.
Suddenly, with a puff of smoke, an old katana appeared in Zakuro's hand. He charged at his opponent again, and slashed his sword downward as hard as possible, attempting to cleave the man in two. Although he hoped the guy could defend against it because he didn't want to kill anyone.

Seeing that the amount of force from the reflective barrier was enough to send his opponent backward was a good sign that he might be able to try out a few new jutsu he'd been practicing. But, for now, Kuodachi waited to see how the Genin would react, standing with great patience as his eyes locked onto his opponent from just behind his clone.
As his opponent began handseals of his own, Kuodachi was eager to see what kind of ability was coming. Still being unsure of his opponents rank and capabilities, he was nervous, ready to react as soon as whatever jutsu being case spilled forth.
Following a simple puff a smoke, a clone would appear. Seems the intention was to counter a clone with a different clone. As soon as the clone broke the smoke, both smiles from the clone and Kuodachi himself would fade. Kuodachi would begin his own set of handseals once more, this time seeking to trap whatever type of clone it was in a barrier. As the same time, his own clone began a charge towards the enemy clone.
As soon as the seals finish, a barrier would erect around the raiton clone, as well as his own clone. Kuodachi's intentions were to trap both the clones together so Kuodachi could use his own clone to gather some intel on the enemy clone. As soon as the barrier sprung up, restricting the battlefield for the clones to a very small area, his own clone would make a punch towards the enemy clone's face.
Should the real Zakuro continue his charge forward, Kuodachi would have finished his seals and be ready for his attack. Of course, the unsealing of his weapon would come as a surprise. Ther had not really discussed terms of the spar, but a sword fight against someone he was not even certain had any defense against it seemed a bit much. Lucky for him, Kuodachi had plenty of defense! Once again, turning to the extension of his finger as the defense. As the blade came in a downward strike, Kuodachi would thrust his hand up, extending his pointer finger to meet the blade. Unlike the last, this would be force on the blade rather than the person, likely sending only the blade flying. So, as soon as his barrier would meet the blade, he'd take advantage of any off balancing the defense would have bring his leg swinging into Zakuro's side. Of course, he'd swing with all his might, but it would come feeling a little weak for a Chuunin.

Zakuro never stopped his charge. In fact he wouldn't have been able to if he wanted. His body was not in shape to stop running at the speed he was moving. He also didn't see the simple raise of his opponents finger until it was too late. His blade had hit it with all of his strength, and the swing had backfired on him. Not only did the old sword fly out of Zakuro's hands, but it also shattered. The old blade had taken enough of a beating, and it's integrity gave up. Broken through the center of the blade, the old rusty sword laid useless on the ground. The force of the just also forced Zakuro to stumble a little.
Zakuro, being frustrated that his attack was yet again thwarted by a finger, swung his fist right at the man's face. He had yet to realize that the sword was broken. Yet again Zakuro would put all of his strength into it, which wasn't much seeing how Zakuro wan't very stronger. He hoped that this hit would connect. If it did, then he would at least feel like he had a chance.

The defensive maneuver against the sword, much to Kuodachi's surprise, broke the blade! His eyes would flick wide with the astonishment as his attention was momentarily distracted by the unfortunate event, the blade flying through the air in multiple pieces. In that moment, Zakuro took full advantage of the distracted Kuodachi and Zakuro's punch slammed, full force, into his face. With a grunt of pain, Kuodachi fell backward, quickly catching himself and jumping backward to open some distance between the two. His hand would go up to rub his reddened cheek, “Ow Ow! That was a good one!” He would say as he tried to massage the pain away. “Sorry about the sword.” The apology was genuine, but the spar was far from over, at least in Kuodachi's eyes. Directly following the words that could easily have posed as a distraction, Kuodachi moved into a series of handseals. “Lets start with something simple, shall we?” he mumbled under his breath. He was semi thinking out loud as he proceeded with the spar. The goal of this justu, to test his opponents knowledge on genjutsu.
Should his opponent not give any signs, the battle was most certainly still on, and he would proceed with the activation! Following the completion of the hand seals, Kuodachi would say, loud and clear, “Do you like spiders?” Should his opponent hear the word “spiders” he will be trapped in a genjutsu, feeling as if bugs are crawling underneath his clothing.

Zakuro awkwardly looked at his opponent. What kind of question was that? "Who the hell likes spiders? I hate those freaking things." Suddenly Zakuro felt hundreds of spiders crawling up and down his body. At first he gave out a scream and started swatting himself all over. Next he ran around, still swatting himself, trying to get the spiders off of him. Zakuro then fell to the ground and flopped around like a fish, trying to kill of the spiders. None of these things worked. They couldn't be killed.

The response to the question let Kuodachi know, even before any other reaction, that the genjutsu had indeed taken hold. Of course, his only response would be a mischievous smile, one that, if the Genin were not far too preoccupied with the feeling that was consuming his body, might have even given the situation away a bit quicker than it took the boy to figure it out. As the swatting began, Kuodachi almost couldn't even resist straight bursting into laughter. Of course, it was far less funny to the one who did not know it was merely an illusion.

Without wasting any time, assuming the barrier to still be in tact, Kuodachi would head right into another series of handseals. Upon their completion, the barrier would begin shrinking at a good speed, akin to a trap on some ancient ruins. It would shrink evenly from each side of the box and continue to shrink, unless broken, until the Genin had no space to even move beyond very small movements of his phalanges, and maybe turning his head. It would not continue pushing past this point. It would be uncomfortable, but not painful unless the Genin were a claustrophobic person.
Finally, he'd begin the last step of the plan to end the spar with a last series of handseals. The result would be a Chakra coating on Kuodachi's body that would allow him to pass through his own barriers uninhibited. If all this would go as Kuodachi planned, he'd walk toward the confined Genin and begin the real lesson done through a few well placed kick and punches until the Genin surrendered.

Whilst Zakuro was in his panicked state he didn't notice the barrier raise around him. He was worried about one thing. Spiders. However now that the threat was over, Zakuro noticed that he was trapped. Something he wasn't liking at all. Zakuro sprinted to the giant wall of chakra. He put as much power into the punch as he could. Nothing happened. Suddenly Zakuro's eyes caught the fact that the wall was moving toward him. It was going fast too. His only hope would be to break it before he was crushed.
Zakuro hurled his body at the wall in hoped that something would happen. As soon as his body hit it was launched back. The chakra wall kept advancing. Zakuro weaved handseals. A large puff of smoke appeared, and within was a clone. Together they might break the barrier. Zakuro and the clone charged at the barrier. In Zakuro's hand sat a kunai waiting to strike. The clone charged with his fist raised. They both struck at the same time. The wall advanced, unscathed.
There seemed to be no way to destroy it. Zakuro didn't want to die in this coffin of chakra. He just couldn't think of anything. Suddenly Zakuro grabbed the raiton clone. "Sorry buddy." With the last of his strength he threw the clone at the advancing wall. It hit and exploded. The wall still advanced. Zakuro ran to the center of the barrier and let the walls close in on him. At least he wasn't claustrophobic.
The walls had closed around him. Zakuro had never felt more uncomfortable in his life. Zakuro watched as the man who did this to him approached. It looked as though he was going to release Zakuro. Zakuro believed that until the first kick. "Ow." Zakuro then received a punch and another kick. He really didn't the point in this beating. The match was already won. The final blows to the already incapacitated boy would come with a hard to hold back grimace. A lessened learned the hard way was not one that Kuodachi enjoyed giving out. He just had to make sure Zakuro understood where he was. He was put in a very vulnerable position due to a clear weakness to genjutsu. This was only a spar, so, he was in no real danger apart from a few bruises. Had it been a real fight against a genjutsu user, he may not have been so lucky. Deep down, Kuodachi knew this was the reason Genin were not allowed to leave the village. They were just starting out and had clear strengths and weaknesses. They have not yet had the time to spread out and refine them as they should.
So, every strike against the Genin, Kuodachi viewed as a favor to him in the long run. Finally, the surrender came. He held out longer than Kuodachi would have expected, even against his weak attacks. With a seal, Kuodachi would release the barrier, allowing the Genin the freedom which he probably desired. Assuming the Genin would be nearly ready to drop, Kuodachi would offer aid to steady him as he regained his feet. The Genin would likely be bloodied and bruised, but nothing a few days rest wouldn't fix right up. Finally, he'd offer up some words, “Good spar. You are without a doubt, quick on your feet, and you can definitely take a beating.” He chuckled lightly as the jest before moving into a more serious tone, “But you need to work on your Genjutsu.” As a passing question, which Kuodachi felt like he already knew the answer to, “You are a Genin, right?” Following the answer, he'd move into the lesson, “I was a lot like you when I was a Genin.
