Escape From This World

Post by Rain21199 » Thu Aug 24, 2017 8:47 am

His face still burned from the slap he received from the one he thought was his friend. Aina. She exploded at him in a fit of rage and told him what he was already thinking. He was a waste of space. He had no place in this world anymore. After laying on the ground after that encounter for what felt like hours, Zakuro found himself standing at the gates of the village. He stared out into that shadowy forest, contemplating what went next. Every ounce of his being screamed to run. He wanted to make a dash and escape from this place. This nightmarish land that he once called home. It was nothing more than a prison now. He was tortured by being surround with the life he may never live again. The life of a shinobi.

Zakuro thought of the consequences of leaving. If caught, he would be incarcerated for desertion. If he fought back, he would be killed. At this point, it wouldn't matter what would happen. His life was as good as over anyways. The only thing that would be different was the concrete walls that might soon surround him. It was funny in a way. Zakuro hated nothing in this world more than those who turned their backs on their village. When met with these individuals, Zakuro judged them the hardest, and often they were met with death. Now, here Zakuro was, contemplating joining their ranks and abandoning his village. He might want to return some day, but whenever that was, it was far in the future. Now he couldn't stand another second within these walls.

Zakuro took the first step towards the gates. After that his body seemed to move on its own. He continued walking straight passed the massive doors. The shinobi guarding the entrance in fact said hi to Zakuro, but the boy didn't reply. He just kept on going until one of the two guards caught up to him, grabbed onto his arm and firmly asked where he was headed. This... This was the moment of truth. Was Zakuro really going to go through with this? As a Chuunin, he didn't have clearance to leave the village of his own accord and without a higher ranked individual alongside him. There would be no talking out of this. As a member of Mamorinuku, Zakuro had a very deep understanding of the outer defense of the village and where they covered. If he played his cards right, he would be able to alert very few people to his presence, but this part, by far would be the most difficult. There were countless outposts that were located near the village entrance. It was by far the most guarded part of the village. If he was going to act, it would have to be fast. No doubt they would send somebody to locate the threat. If a sensor ninja picked up that it was a Konoha shinobi, they would more than likely send someone of high rank or standing to make sure the job was a success. Everything that was about to happen determined on who was on duty tonight. Aina wasn't, that was for sure. By now she was probably home, which was something that took a load off of Zakuro's chest. There were still a handful of shinobi that could tear Zakuro to shreds that might be on duty tonight. Hopefully none of them would come his way.

The guard was obviously not expecting an attack from Zakuro once he grabbed onto the boy's arm, but as soon as Zakuro felt the hand on his right arm, he moved. Using his free arm and half of his strength, the now ex-Chuunin twisted and delivered a jab directly to the man's throat. As expected he fell to the ground gasping for air. Knowing he didn't have much time as the other guard started moving in, Zakuro quickly said, "Sorry..." and sprinted. The Chuunin tried to use his speed to out run the other guard, but he was quickly catching up. Shit. His journey might end right here. Zakuro looked around for anything he could use, anything at all. That was when he spotted a rock about the size of his palm. Perfect. Zakuro stopped in his tracks, bent over, picked it up, and waited for the other man to catch up. It only took a few seconds. The guard, who Zakuro guessed to be a Chuunin in rank, reached out to grab onto Zakuro. Zakuro reacted and jumped up while bringing up his knee. The boy smashed his knee into the shinobi's face. Then, Zakuro proceeded to place his hand onto the man's head to launch himself into the air. While in the air, Zakuro chucked the stone at the shinobi. It crashed into his skull with a loud thud, resulting in him hitting the ground. When he woke up, he would probably have the worst headache of his life. Poor guy.

Zakuro's arm had already felt the strain of use after these short two encounters. It constantly cause pain to flow through his body and it would stop shaking. Zakuro clutched it tightly but still, he continued his way away from the village at full speed. He knew it was only a matter of time before someone caught up to him. Until then, he would make as much distance from the village as possible. He didn't want to hurt anyone, but he knew that it would be the only way to get away.

Fanho had been atop of the Mamorinuku offices taking in the view of the village. It had the third best view compared to the Hokage's office, and a top of the Hokage monument. He had taken a deep breath taking in the atmosphere, the air clean, the sky beautiful with no clouds in sight. But as fate would have it, a low rumbling could be heard in the distance. Storm clouds. They were moving fairly quick with ease coming to obscure what a beautiful sky could not stop. Fanho raised an eye brow at the sudden change in weather, it was odd, "A omen perhaps?" It seemed to fore shadow a most unfortunate destiny that would befall two shinobi that day.

With rolling of thunder in the distance a shinobi running up to the roof top could be heard, breathing heavily, panting. He had clearly made haste in trying to reach Fanho, that much had been clear. However the next words exchanged caused Fanho to furrow his eyebrows in anger which quickly faded to sympathy and sadness. With nothing more than a nod as if in an instant Fanho disappeared from his position quickly transition across the rooftops to the Konohagakure gate. Must it really have to come to this.
The idea troubled him, the thought that someone had been tormented to the point of having to leave. No one other than one of his fellow peers Zakuro had made the move to uproot themselves from the village. None-the-less it was something Fanho delegated purely to himself. It was his responsibility as Mamorinuku Katameru head. Not only that, but it was a personal friend of Fanho. From what he knew, the news probably hadn't even reached topped brass yet. Which was good for Fanho, it prevented them from interfering with what he had to do. He quickly reached the gates perceiving what terror Zakuro left in his wake. Clearly it wasn't ill intended damage as the two Chuunin on duty survived the assaults, they weren't kill shots, just shots to incapacitate.

With the quick observation Fanho persevered on by moving as quickly as he could bounding through the tree line. With gaining Mamorinuku Katameru head, he was rarely stopped by the gate guards anymore, and rarely required permission to roam Fire Country. This time it was obvious what he had came out to do.

Zakuro continued his rush away from the village for as long as he could, but for the past two months he had been bed ridden and down very little activity. He was out of shape and already he could tell that he was wearing out. Here he had to make a tough call. He could slow down now and reserve enough of his energy to keep up in a fight or he could keep going and try to find a place to hide before he was reached. The odds of him escaping without being stopped by some shinobi was small. He knew that he would have to slow down and take his chances with whoever was coming. He just had to keep his fingers crossed it wasn't anyone that could kick his ass.

Zakuro slowed down from a sprint to more of a jog. He kept a decent pace, but it was no where near his top speed. He really had no idea where he was headed. The amount of times he had actually left the village could be counted on one hand. He just hoped that he was on his way to some other country, away from the border of Fire Country. The last thing he wanted to see was a large mountain or body of water in his way. That would likely lead to his capture, and then, his incarceration. The boy had a lot to fear, but there was one thing that was certain. There was no place for him in the village anymore. Zakuro was all alone there. Nobody seemed to care about him. Nobody seemed to feel sympathy towards his struggle. All he was was a broken weapon. The village, his home, was something that he swore to always protect, and he still would, but the village was no longer home.

While at this slower pace, Zakuro kept a very good eye on his surroundings. He knew any minute someone would burst into sight ready to take him back, but he wasn't going back. Zakuro didn't want to hurt any of his friends or comrades, but if that's what it came to, he would do it. The low rumble of thunder in the distance meant that a storm was brewing. Looking up at the sky, Zakuro could tell it would be a bad one too. Hopefully he would be able to find shelter.

Fanho had made good headway bounding through the forest at an incredible pace. He had to as it meant the fall of Zakuro or the redemption of him. He hardly felt the fatigue due to the adrenaline coursing in his veins, pushing him ever so further, and giving him an edge. He saw the trees pass by, taking in Zakuro's little to not hushed tracks. It was that much clear that he was in quite the rush. He wanted to beat the cavalry, or couldn't hide his tracks due to other reasons. Fanho had to bet on the former as it was the most logical choice.

In tandem with his thoughts he felt the first few droplets of rain on his face as he glanced at the sky. A streak of lightning stained across the sky as it dissipated, the thunder resounding several seconds later signaling the storm getting closer. It would only be minutes before Fanho reached Zakuro at this pace. Perhaps he could offer some salvation to the lost soul. After all, this seemed to stem from some lost sense of self-worth. No one was too far gone, but he had to also consider the latter and if he was ready to commit to an act like that.

Albeit it was a situation that demanded his attention, he couldn't help but put it on the back burner for now. The topic weighed heavily, but he could only hope for the best. It was the best case scenario and the one Fanho would be fighting for. To be honest with himself, it'd be the only one he'd settle for. He'd bring back the boy even if it meant he'd break every bone in his body, and drag him back when all he can do is utter guttral yelling from his broken jaw.

Zakuro continued at his slow pace, but the feeling of fear and anxiety slowly started to overwhelm him. What if this was all a mistake? What if whoever was sent after him was merciless and decided Zakuro would be better off dead? His life would be over, but wasn't it already over in the village? He had nobody to turn to. They all seemed to forget about him. Zakuro's life was nothing but emptiness now. To kill him would make barely any difference. The only thing he has to look forward to now was a life outside of the village. Maybe he could become a bounty hunter and kill anyone that still threatened Konoha. Even after the events that transpired, Zakuro still had a love for the city, and he still felt the need to protect the place he used to call home.

It didn't take much longer until Zakuro could hear movement behind him. He knew that whoever was coming would be there to take Zakuro back no matter what, so the boy had to prepare himself for the worst.

Escape From This World

Fanho had been nearing where his friend was at. His gut feeling wrenched the closer he got. It was almost a natural alarm letting him know that Zakuro was near. He could only hope his now almost labeled Missing-Nin friend would listen to reason before wanting to resort to fists. It was all he could hope for as the wind lapped against his face. The weather ominous as ever began to cry as its tears barely tapped Fanho in the face, it was a light cry. One of which may have ended shortly or the worse alternative picked up into a torrential flurry of shattered dreams.

As he emerged from a tree line Fanho had came darting out with his hand on his chokuto in-case Zakuro had something planned. He hoped his friend would recognize him, and wouldn't react harshly at first. As the drops trickled down his face, and began to douse his clothing. The light lapping of the water rhythmically pitter pattered off the leaves. "Zakuro!" He called out to his friend, hoping he could latch onto whatever emotions his friend still had towards the village.

"Please, come home. You don't have to do this."

He pleaded...

Zakuro felt the wind and rain hit his skin. He shivered at the cold. Even though it was summer, Fire Country couldn't have been colder today. The soft pitter patter of footsteps on the twigs and dried leaves that rested against the forest's floor got closer and closer. Whoever it was was damn near next to him, but Zakuro didn't stop his movement. Not until he heard the voice. It was immediately familiar. He had never heard Fanho sound so sad. Zakuro's actions must've hurt the boy, but there was no turning back now. The village and his old life was behind him. Fanho was going to be the only thing in his way.

Without turning around, Zakuro spoke. There was a cold distance in his voice. Zakuro tried to steel himself, hiding the emotion as he spoke, but the truth was he was close to tears. "Fanho... I'm not going back. I love the village, but it doesn't have a place for me anymore. That much is obvious." With a snarl, he continued, "Leave."

A fight was the last thing he wanted. Fanho was stronger than he was, especially now that he had barely any use of his right arm. If they fought, Zakuro would be outmatched. Fanho was his friend, Zakuro didn't want to hurt him, but he would do what he had to do.

Fanho sighed as he didn't want to resort to using his blades just yet. He hoped he could still reach what was left. "Zakuro, you know there's a spot for you in the village. You wouldn't be walking away still loving your home if you knew there wasn't." He kept slowly pacing himself towards his friend as the wind slightly picked up the rain droplets still pitter pattering against his face hiding his somber expression. "This much is clear, you know it, and I know it. What made you leave?" What exactly was the tipping point, would lead Fanho to better able to talk to Zakuro about his choice. After all, Fanho rather didn't even know his friend was going through this turmoil.

It was something he regretted not knowing, or even keeping in close contact he didn't know his friend had been harboring these thoughts. He could only hope to make him return, and in exchange not imprison him but help him get better. Fanho's hand slowly inched towards the handle of his chokuto, but not yet grabbing it. He felt this further prying might send Zakuro into a rage, which would result in a battle of which Fanho had to be prepared in. After all he didn't want to kill his friend, and would resort to everything else before even considering it an option.

The boy's head tipped toward the ground. His body swelled with the emotion of the past few hours. He couldn't hold it in. Tears began to fall down Zakuro's cheeks, hidden by the rain. "When you get back to the village, why don't you ask that bitch, Aina. She knows exactly what happened." Every word Zakuro said, he spit out with disgust, and his face contorted into rage. "I'm going to give you the choice right here, right now. Leave, or I'm going to have to break you." The sound of Zakuro's sword sliding out of it's sheath echoed in the still forest. The chain at the end of his weapon began to slowly grow in length. The last thing the ex-Chuunin wanted was to hurt his friend, but he knew the way the village operated. Fanho would continue to attack him until he won, or he couldn't anymore. Zakuro knew there was no way he would let his friend win. Not this time. The blade felt heavy in the boy's right arm. The pain of gripping it was almost too much to bare, but if he were to make it out of here, he was going to have to fight through it.

Fanho heaved a sigh in the air as he heard the scabbard scrape with sadness, the sound pinging off a reminder of the young Awai's wrong choice of words. He felt as if he had been able to nail the right words, he could've convinced Zakuro to just stop dead in his tracks. As his cold voice pierced the air, he heard words of hurt repent against Fanho's reasoning. "You know she doesn't represent the village, if we didn't care why would I be here standing asking you to come back." The bitterness spat from his lips only spoke tales of hurt.

He understood harsh words spoken in the essence of anger could drive one away from another. But to generalize a village as a whole under that umbrella, or run away rather than embrace with their friends was something he tried to emphasize to Zakuro. However what was spoken next had only made Fanho's mouth open as no words made their way through. It seemed as if his mind fount words, but none were good enough to respond to the threat just made. He was speechless. He heard the chain swing in the air as it rang, like church bells giving their final toll. Was this going to be the final toll?

"Does it really have to end this way?" Reluctant to pull on his own blade, his arms just sat motionless to his sides as he stared his friend down. Even if his friend wouldn't make eye contact, Fanho's eyes drifted to where if Zakuro had looked back he could see the hurt in the young Awai's eyes. He could feel the tears welling in his own eyes, he held back not wanting to escalate it any further. He didn't want violence, he only wanted his friend to come back. He stayed waiting, he wasn't about to dare make the first move against his friend.

Zakuro couldn't bring himself to look his friend in the eyes. Not now. Not when they were about to fight. Zakuro shut out his emotions. He wouldn't let them fuel him. He brushed the tears out from his eyes. 'It's now or never....'

The boy dashed forward. Once he got to Fanho, he thrusted his arm into his friend's stomach. If that hit then he would grab Fanho by the shirt collar and headbutt him. He couldn't stop but go soft on him. Fanho was his friend. There was no way around it. He just hoped that Fanho would fight back as though his life depended on it so Zakuro could do the same. As it stood, Zakuro didn't have it in him to strike down his friend.

Fanho watched as his friend regained his composure. This was something he didn't want to do, but he felt was necessary. As mighty as Fanho's doujutsu was, it saw through the most obvious ruse. This hurt Zakuro in every inch of his being. As quick as he saw through it, he watched as Zakuro lurched towards himself with a stiff arm into Fanho's stomach. He listened as a rib cracked before Fanho's own forehead met Zakuro's. The young Awai would have slid backwards on his feet if he hadn't had grabbed Zakuro's shoulder as the rain kept pitter pattering off of his back and face. A mixture of rain and crimson dripped from his forehead as it hung over before he rose it to meet Zakuro's own somber expression.

The young Awai gave his friend's shoulder a friendly squeeze before grabbing the back of his friend's neck and forcing the Chuunin to look him in the eyes. "You and I both know, this doesn't have to continue." The blood reaching Fanho's chin as it dripped to the ground below them. It washing away in the wind and the rain, perhaps so could the pain that plagued his friend would be washed away. Only hopes and dreams would wish the best for his friend. "Know there's more to be had at the village Zakuro than what she told you. It is home." He wouldn't give up so soon, he'd take the initial beating, and only wished his friend would come to his senses.

There was little resistance in Fanho's words, his actions. He wasn't trying to put up a fight, in words yes, but actions he strayed little to put a fight. As if his final plea, even though he had already told himself he 'this will be the last plea', but even then he fount himself finding the resolve to seek some love for his friends and village in Zakuro. The rain seemed to pound harder the longer the encounter went on, minutes seemed like hours, and the worst part of it all was knowing the pain his friend felt was only this much harder against someone who cared.

Escape From This World

Fanho... We were never friends. You never cared about me. You only want to bring me back. That's your job. Your duty. I won't let that happen. Even if I have to end you.

Zakuro's head hung low. From Fanho's view it might look like Zakuro was finally giving in, but there was fire in his eyes. He was actually getting ready to fight. He grabbed the wrist that was squeezing his shoulder. He tightened his grip on the wrist until it would put Fanho in pain. Using his other hand, Zakuro wrapped his hand around his enemy's neck and picked him off the ground. Soon Fanho would find himself gasping for air. If Fanho didn't realize the pain Zakuro was in before, he would now. Zakuro's right arm was shivering as waves of pain flowed through his body. Instead of letting them hinder him, he let them fuel him. He felt more and more anger fill himself until he was about ready to explode. His face contorted in anger. The tears that were once there were gone, washed away by the rain. "No... It WAS my home, but that time is long gone. Those walls are no more than a prison."

The memory of Aina was all too recent. He couldn't help but remember what put him in this situation in the first place. With a scream of rage, Zakuro threw Fanho. The sound of bone on wood would resound as Fanho hit a nearby tree. Zakuro drew his sword and steadily walked towards Fanho with no sign of slowing down. It was evident that this attack was going to end in blood one way or the other. It was up to Fanho to decide.

Fanho felt the pain surge through his arm. It appeared as if his friend placed all that care in a pit far away from the situation at hand. He intended to actually do Fanho in this time. His thoughts were cut short as was the oxygen to his brain. From the situation he was in, he'd have to fight back and do something. Words weren't cutting it this time, and no amount of coaxing would gain Zakuro back. These thoughts paced in his mind, but as it came it quickly was replaced with pain as Fanho's back smashed into the tree line behind him. The rain washing away the blood as it came, trickling down his face. He gave a gasp for air as it was renewed to the brain. He coughed some spittle with blood as it washed similarly to Zakuro's empathy. For the time being the young Chuunin he thought as a friend killed that and put it far away.

He could hear his friend's blade draw from its sheath. He knew how this would turn out. He closed his eyes momentarily to at least say a prayer for his friend. To whatever benevolent force out there to protect his friend, despite the damage done. He wanted him to healed from the pain, and be accepted and kind as he once was. Fanho was quick to react to defend himself as he drew his Chokuto from its sheath. Holding it against his friends own blade. Never would he had thought it would come to this. But how ignorant he was to not see the signs of this escalating. For God's sake he already had his forehead busted open, and a cracked rib. Fanho couldn't endure much more of this abuse before dying.

"Then I guess...." He paused as the blades struggled against each other. "I'll have to take you back to a prison then..." As Fanho pulled back and clashed blades once more he shoved Zakuro away a few meters to give space. "Then you can learn the harm that you'd be doing. Not just to yourself, but your friends!" Fanho flew through hand seals as he shot a bolt of lightning to the sky as it began to rain down lightning in the area just before him. If it caught his friend, it'd sting massively. By forming hand seals then focusing his chakra to the sky Fanho will launch a lightning spread across an area of 202 meters, at a range of 10 meters from himself. The lightning extends from the sky starting above ground level 10 meters before encroaching the ground at a speed of 20 that strikes with an explosive force of 20 as the crackle of lightning striking ripples through the air a signal of this jutsu.

Escape From This World

The sound of steel on steel screeched through the woods. Finally Fanho fought back. Finally Zakuro would be able to fight as if his life depended on it because now, it actually did. He could tell that this tore Fanho apart. The man in front of him was using all of his strength to force himself to complete those seals. If Fanho didn't treat him like a true enemy, then this fight would be over in an instant. A small voice inside Zakuro's head was telling him to stop. It was telling him that the village was home. It was telling him that Fanho was his friend, but another, much louder voice said something completely different. You're not wanted. You were never wanted. You will die here, or you will walk away from Fanho's corpse. There was no alternative.

That's when the lightning struck. That one second that Zakuro was lost in thought ruined everything. A blast of lightning struck him like a train. His body became completely numb. The flash of light blinded him. For a moment, he forgot where he was, in the next, he was laying on the ground. His shoulders and back were slightly smoking from the hit, and he could feel the pain all around his body like a distant echo trying to work its way through the numbness. He quickly tried to steady himself by grabbing his sword and hoisting himself up. It was a challenge, but he succeeded. The boy was in no shape for a counter attack, so he stood there, leaning on his sword, catching his breath. This wasn't good. That blast was nearly enough to take him out of the fight. How could he be so fucking stupid as to let his guard down.

Fanho watched as his friend was knocked to the ground quickly. He had to act fast to ensure his friend didn't recover quickly as he focused chakra into his hand, the swirling mass growing quickly to about the size of a baseball. Spinning fast and contained, Fanho grasped it firmly in his hand as he sprinted forward attempting to thrust his Runt Rasengan into his friends abdomen. It wouldn't kill him, but it certainly had the ability to incapacitate if Zakuro was hitting that wall. He could only hope for such a unlikely outcome. His friend was built tough, sturdy, and able to take multiple hits. He'd have to be tactic to land a disabling blow.

The rain pitter pattered harder with each strike. The thunder from the jutsu filled the air, as it began crackling with thunder and lightning all around now. It seemed as the mood got heavier so did the weather. How poetic. The wind started to howl then shriek, as if a wounded animal caught in a trap unable to get away. It was as if his friend was that animal, unable to break away from his tragic thoughts and feelings, lashing out at anyone trying to get too close to save him. In fear that they'd bring him pain next. Fanho wished this much could be conveyed to his friend. He hated seeing him like this, it tore him apart.

After the user has began to channel chakra to their hand with their other hand assisting in the control a small blue ball of spinning rotating chakra appears in their hand no larger than the size of a baseball. The Rasengan is a concentrated ball of fast rotating chakra in the palm of the user's hand. Using pure chakra, the spinning ball of chakra hits up to a strength of 20 that sends the target spiraling off into the distance. The only downside to this jutsu is that it requires the Rasengan to remain in the user's hand.

Zakuro lazily looked at the ground. He couldn't focus on anything. It was all a blur, but it was that sound that made everything come back together. The screech of chakra as it viciously spun. Zakuro was familiar with Fanho's techniques to know this one would hurt. The boy lifted his eyes to meet the Awai. The yellow of his eyes pierced the darkness of the night. Quickly he approached. Zakuro knew he had to react. He quickly dashed to his left. Every step he took felt awkward as his nerves struggled to send signals to his brain. He felt a soft tingle whenever his feet slammed into the ground, but nothing more.

Zakuro reached towards his back and tried to grab a senbon. He failed miserably and merely ended up grabbing air. He quickly turned his eye to look at his bag, using his eyesight to replace his sense of touch. His fingers touch the steel pin and quickly grabbed a small handful as they were fed out of his pack. Turning back to face Fanho, he was nearly upon Zakuro now, but his approached wouldn't continue for much longer. With a few short movements of his arm, Zakuro sent the senbon he had into the air. The way they cut through the air, it almost made them look like sideways rain. It would be hard to make them out in the current weather. Three of the six senbon were aimed at Fanho's wrist. If they struck, no doubt he would lose control of his jutsu. The last three were aimed towards Fanho's right leg. Zakuro's plan was to immobilize it, or at least slow him down.

If the senbon all hit where they were supposed, Zakuro would rush to attack. He would start by aiming another strike at Fanho's throat, hoping to cause it to collapse completely this time. Then, Zakuro would grab onto Fanho's incapacitated leg so that it's harder for him to break free, and use his other hand to grip onto Fanho's shirt collar. After Fanho is in Zakuro's grip, he would lift him into the air and slam his enemy onto his knee, attempting to break his spine.

Escape From This World

WIth precision as the senbon flew into sight. With his gifted eye sight the rain and overcast day held no bearing over his sight. He blocked the three aimed for his wrist with the Rasengan, and with his other hand pushed one of them to the side before taking two of them to his calf stopping him dead in his tracks. If he wasn't able to get mobile in a few minutes, it'd sure be his downfall. If his prediction wasn't enough, Zakuro had already made his way up on Fanho's position grabbing him by the throat, but with one hand Fanho gripped Zakuro's ensuring he couldn't crush his throat. The two were equal in strength so the the throat grasp was a stalemate, but if luck had it Zakuro gripped the leg embedded with two senbon.

From this grasp the howling of the rain only made Fanho's situation seem more dire. At this point it'd be easy to give up and succumb to the pain, pressure, and unsettling position he was in. With a swing with his free leg Fanho aimed to strike Zakuro in the head. Either to make his friend let go or take the blow which would've skidded him back a few feet. Giving Fanho the much needed distance to rip the steel needles embedded in his leg. The pain seared through his calf as he hoped this much would give him a well needed break to recover from what pain he just received. He had to end the fight quickly, but he couldn't bring himself to issue a killing blow. He reserved a spot in his heart for hope that his friend would come to his senses.

Maybe not now, but he knew that Zakuro was still a shinobi for the leaf.

Zakuro wasn't expecting Fanho to just lay there and be broken in half. As Fanho's one good leg came swinging towards Zakuro, the boy let go of his neck, causing his entire body to swing down. Fanho's leg caught Zakuro in the shoulder, but he had taken hits from Takeo before, this was child's play compared to that. Using his now free hand, Zakuro wrapped his hand around Fanho's ankle. From his angle, it would be hard to tell what was going on, but it was likely that the feeling of two strong hands wrapped around his ankles would cause the Awai to panic. After all, there isn't a whole lot of things that Zakuro can do from this position, so Fanho would be bound to guess what was coming.

Just like he was swinging his sword, Zakuro swung Fanho around just as easily. Zakuro started by smashing him into the ground over and over, easily making the boy disoriented by all the rapid movements and the horrible pain, making it difficult to stop the beating. With every movement, Zakuro bellowed out a scream. He was filled with a rage unlike he even knew before. Zakuro ended the punishment by smashing Fanho's body against a tree, making a resounding crack as bone hit wood, and the tree toppled over. Dropping Fanho onto the ground, Zakuro took a few deep breaths and waited to see if Fanho would get back up.

As Fanho's leg was gripped by Zakuro, not only was the rain smashing into the ground, but soon Fanho joined the droplets as his body was thrown violently several times. Even during this painstaking beating he tried to weave hand seals or conjure up chakra, but with each battering it prevented him from so. Not long afterwards Fanho fount himself hurtling through the air along with the rain before landing against a tree with the sickening smack registering in his ears. He felt another few ribs crack before falling down, the tree felling behind him.

Fanho mustered the strength to his feet, the rain howling and beating down against his back as if to tell him to remain seated. However he couldn't remain idle he had to take action. Even if it meant hurting Zakuro, he couldn't let his friend just walk away from everything. He slipped his hand into his back pouch as he stood slowly wiping a bit of blood spittle from his mouth with his free hand. "I've come this far, I can't give you up just now..." With a cough of more blood that mixed with the rain that belittled its existence. Fanho channeled chakra. With his other hand now retrieved a shuriken he focused raiton chakra into the projectile before sending it forward. Even if it missed, if it came within range it'd do the trick.

Just as the projectile would reach its mark, Fanho formed hand seals as raiton cracked from his hand forming into a blade of pure electricity able to cut through the hardest materials. He shot it forward in an attempt to cut Zakuro in the bicep before aiming the blade lower to cut through his thigh muscles. He aimed to disable Zakuro even if it was slightly maiming. They could have him healed later, but for now he needed to stop the Chuunin's rampage.

Escape From This World

Still huffing, Zakuro heard the rustling of Fanho ahead of him. Glancing up to watch, Zakuro leaned on his own legs to keep himself balanced. He couldn't believe his eyes, even after all that, Fanho still got his feet. The shinobi was made of stronger stuff than Zakuro, that was sure. He was extremely injured, that much was obvious, but the fire hadn't left his eyes yet. No, for that to happen, Zakuro would need to tear them out. The familiar glow of chakra surrounded his enemy, which undoubtly meant a jutsu was going to be coming his way. The Chuunin prepared himself by widening his stance and standing up straight. His breath was still heavy, and there wasn't a whole lot of fight left in him, but Zakuro was going to finish this out, one way or the other. Whether that meant taken Fanho down or getting dragged back, it made no difference, Zakuro was going to fight.

Suddenly a shuriken flew towards Zakuro, but it was too slow. Way too slow. He took one step to the side, and the shuriken wizzed right passed. He would've prepared himself for the jutsu he assumed would come after from Fanho, but it was in that one second that the flying piece of metal was only a foot away from his head did he see it. The arcs of electricity. So, the shuriken was the jutsu, and not just a decoy to cover up whatever he had been channeling. Without much time to react, Zakuro did the one thing he could think of. Raise his arm and block his head from whatever was about to come his way.

With a flash of light, the first thing, Zakuro thought was, 'This is gonna hurt like hell.' He felt a slight stabbing pain hit a few places on his arm, but that was it. No severe pain, hardly any numbness or burning. It was like the jutsu barely hit him. When he looked at his arm, he realized why. The one thing that never served him a purpose, despite the sacrifice he made for it, was lit up like lightning. The thin golden seems seemed to illuminate the dark, and a bolt of lightning was grasped in his hand. He hadn't remembered making a fist when he felt the impact, but there it was, trying to writhe itself free in his fist. The sensation was weird. The jutsu was constantly trying to pull itself in one direction, but Zakuro held it in place with ease. Is this the power of the gloves? Could he catch jutsu with his hands? If that was the case, then this fight was about to end, now.

A second beam of lightning came towards Zakuro at an alarming rate, and snapped him out of his concentration. Zakuro opened his hand and let the bolt fly in the distance behind him. If he was wrong about these gloves, then he was about to lose his arm for the second time. As Fanho's second attack became dangerously close to cutting his arm in two, Zakuro grabbed a hold of it. Yet again, he could feel its strength constantly fighting against his own. It was obvious the chakra was a dangerous force that didn't like being controlled. Molded maybe, but not controlled. If Fanho's face showed any signs of surprise or disbelief, Zakuro wouldn't be able to see it through the rain, but from where he was, it was almost as if he could imagine it. After all, Zakuro was in disbelief himself. The lightning bolt continued to ravage downwards, trying to fight against Zakuro. The piercing noise of lightning deafened him, but his eyesight was perfectly fine, and in this moment, that was all that Zakuro needed. Reaching down into his pack, the ex-Chuunin pulled out two senbon. With one small movement of his wrist, they flew through the air. Their mark? Those two eyes filled with fire. It was time to snuff them out.

Fanho watched as his shuriken lurched the electricty off only to be caught in Zakuro's glove. The rain's climax fast approaching as the wind howled even louder with such urgency. His broken ribs pained him with every pant and breath. It hurt to see his friend in such pain so much more, he could feel himself ripping in two trying to struggle with convincing his friend back, and defending the village. With his hand he could feel the beam of lightning also being grappled with by Zakuro. So this was the strength of these legendary gloves Zakuro had lost his arm over. They were strong indeed, but Fanho prayed not stronger than him as he struggled to move the blade from his grip.

Within flashes of the thunder even Fanho's eyes as perceptive as they were didn't foresee the harm coming. It was a flash and then darkness. The young Awai's head snapped backwards as he slumped to the floor paralyzed and not moving. The raiton beam fading into non-existence as a slump of meat now leaned against a tree with his head cocked all the way back, and his hands lifeless next to himself. Am I dead? The thoughts rushed over his head as a wave before the sound of rain faded into perception. No? Not only that but the cold wind against his skin, the moisture that penetrated the skin with a bone chilling cold. He just lay still, the pain was so much it felt numbing. He couldn't feel his eyes, but not only that he could not see either. He lay there for minutes as the rain assaulted his body taking in the new disability. His eyes had been penetrated with the senbon leaving the perceptive Awai blind.

With a guttural groan as he came back to all at once so quick, it was a mixture of a cough of blood and a yell. "Zakur-UGH-o!" He spat blood over the ground in-front of him and on his own clothing before waving his hand aimlessly in the sky not knowing where it was all that it was waving in the rain. "What-" With a heave another glob of blood continued to paint Fanho's pant's legs. "Will it take to make you come back?" Albeit the blindness was so sudden, and caught Fanho off guard. He couldn't break away from the fact his friend was mere seconds away from just walking away.

Escape From This World

It all happened in an instant. The jutsu faded into the rain and his Fanho slumped against a tree, screaming his name. This was the outcome he wanted, was it not? Then why did it fill him with such pain. To see his friend... no it would be an insult to call him friend now... this man writhe on the ground filled Zakuro with a sadness unlike anything he felt before. He had filled the Awai's world with darkness when only moments ago he had seen it so clearly. Even now as he lay there, hopeless, he only cared about one thing. Getting Zakuro back.

Shaking with every step, Zakuro approached Fanho. He leaned down close to the boy. He looked so scared. In his mind, Zakuro probably had already fled, but instead he remained there a bit longer. The sounds of rain and thunder would hide the sound of the shinobi, making Fanho oblivious to his presence here. Why did he linger? He could leave now and be done with this place, but was it all worth it. Putting others in pain just to help relieve himself of his own. Was it justified? No. Zakuro realized now, in the torrential downpour, his mistake. Fanho cared, more so than anyone else. He was willing to die to bring Zakuro back, and Zakuro was close to doing just that. All it would've taken was a bit more strength and those senbon would've have gone much deeper.

Again Zakuro shuddered. 'It's too late now. There's no turning back.' Zakuro undid the knot of his forehead protector and tossed it aside, next to the blind boy laying in the mud. It hurt to think of him as anything more than just another opponent. As he turned to walk away, he couldn't tell if he was crying or if it was just rain streaming down his face. Either way, this opened a new chapter in his life. Zakuro would run away from the village, and live his life somewhere close enough to do good for them, but far enough away to distance himself.

Zakuro made a vow right then and there that even though he was now an enemy of Konoha, he would defend it with his life. This was in honor of his family, his friends, and the sacrifice Fanho made today.

Escape From This World

Racing forward Gene could think of only what lay ahead. Fanho was a capable ninja in his own right but his heart was soft , perhaps too soft. He wouldn't allow Zakuro to escape because of past friendships....would he? Less than a full minute later Gene would have his answer as the he broke through the tree line only to find Fanho beaten to a bloody mess but struggling to say something to Zakuro in the rain. Despite his rising anger Gene held enough baring to not hesitate in his offensive (not that Zakuro made it difficult); still airborne, Gene hurled three kunai wrapped at the handle with explosive tags toward zakuro spread evenly at one meter apart from each other. "KAI," shouted Gene though the roar of his own voice had been completely drowned by the deafening boom from the multiple explosions. If the force from each tag hadn't been enough then the piercing metal shrapnel may have; however, hit or miss Gene would land and immediately move to extract Fanho from the battlefield with great haste. As he was, the awai could not be useful in battle but the sight of him forced Gene to consider the possibility of killing Zakuro more heavily. Unlike before, where Gene lacked a true understanding of the situation he could clearly see now that Gerudo was dangerous and worse....he was in possession of a powerful ninja tool. The same ninja tool that Gene himself had fought along side the boy tooth and nail to obtain.

Now he was pissed.

Zakuro was it? You've made a grave mistake. There was an edge to Gene's usual smooth tone and it should have been clear that this opponent (as far as Zakuro was concerned) couldn't be reasoned with. Assuming Kazuo hadn't already moved into an offensive of his own Gene would weave through a short sequence of hand seals before both of his hands began to glow dark green. Now Gene was thankful for having paid attention in his studies; the chakra scalpel would serve as the perfect instrument for dealing with this enemy, a cancer to an ever expanding empire. "This is as far as you go..." At least, if things had been going his way that is. As much as Gene would have loved to give chase to a now known enemy Fanho's condition wasn't getting any better. With the amount of blood that the awai had lost on top of the passing storm, his risk of serious illness was too great to risk; growling in frustration, realizing that yet another had slipped away Gene dispelled his technique and moved to aid his friend.

However, this was a far cry from being over. As he walked back in the direction of his comrades Gene noticed that there had been a large blade stuck into the ground where Fanho was previously. In a single and rather violent motion (because he was pretty pissed) Gene yanked the blade from the ground with his left hand feeling the weight bare down almost immediately though it wasn't anything he couldn't manage - it'd a momento to remind him of the unfinished business he had with Gerudo, Zakuro. "Just you wait," he whispered coldly against the sound of relenting rain. When lightning broke through the skies the area had quickly been illuminated like the 4th of July; however, when the flashing stopped the battleground would be clear.

Following Gene into the clearing, Kazuo's senses were overwhelmed by the stench of battle. Blood, sweat, burnt ozone and the stink of sap. Just from that alone he could guess as to how the fight went down. His eyes cut along the path of Gene's kunai, he quickly turned away and stopped focusing as the explosion went off; the last thing he needed was to lose his sense of hearing right now.

The Inuzuka landed heavily beside Fanho before Gene, having avoided attacking, while Koji was set to follow Zakuro regardless. He didn't know what he had expected but… not this. "Oh geez, Fanho…" Slowly he turned his attention towards Zakuro as Gene landed beside the group. Gerudo Zakuro. A loner. Even with all the other smells to pick through Kazuo could taste the… depression? Resolve? It was strange. It was like being near someone who was about to commit suicide. They were giving up everything, their entire lives, because of they pain they could no longer stand. That resolve to commit the final act… once it was set, there was little more someone could do about it.

But Zakuro wasn't killing himself. That, while painful, would've been acceptable to this. No, Zakuro was doing the one thing that was absolutely unforgivable. He was abandoning the village. For his own selfish reasons. As Gene stepped forward to engage him again, Kazuo weaved through a set of hand seals. His already wild features grew even more feral. "Koji, remember that scent. Add it to the list. We're leaving." Zakuro was ready to abandon them, Kazuo would never. He scooped up Fanho as gently as he could and turned his attention to Gene. "I'm going ahead. Hold on, Rave Master. We'll have you putting on a light show again in no time."

Kazuo vanished. The world turned to nothing but shades of grey as the Inuzuka ran as fast as he could. There was nothing he could do for Fanho and not even Gene had the power to heal injuries like this yet. They needed the village. Saving a life was more important than taking one, no matter what.

Escape From This World

To think the battle was over was naive. Zakuro should've known that despite his injuries he needed to move. The footsteps were barely audible in the storm, but Zakuro heard them nonetheless. He turned to face the new assailant just in time to see a kunai whiz past him. His reaction speed needed improvement. He saw the tag, but he wasn't fast enough to do anything about it. The boy was blasted from every angle, knocking him to the ground and completely disorienting him. His ears became overwhelmed with a constant ring. He tasted blood and dirt. Zakuro gripped the wet soil beneath him and forced himself up. He couldn't stop. He couldn't be taken back.

Stumbling, Zakuro got to his feet and began to move. He had no clue which direction he was facing anymore, but that didn't matter. He needed to run. He wouldn't survive another fight, especially since the likelihood of it being a high ranking shinobi was extremely high. He just had to hope he could get away.

Running through the thick forest towards god knows where, Zakuro's mind was racing. He had no idea who was behind him, how fast they were, or even if they were still giving chase. He just had to continue onward. There was no time to check. There was no time to waste. He would just keep running. Running for how long? He didn't know. Until he couldn't run any more apparently.
