[Plotboard] Mentoring the Juin

| | Plotboard | | It had taken some time to manage but the Garrison's outside of the village had been strengthened and at least for now, the big wigs could rest easy knowing there would be no hiccups in the order. However, Gene believed that the group left much to be desired in the way of progress though bore in mind that those recruits were aptly named "Juin" for a reason. In time their skills would grow and so to would the role left upon their shoulders when it was time for a shift in power. For now, all he could do was maintain a watchful eye now that the Katameru head was...out of commission and perform his duty with a diligence that would provide ironclad results when the injured Awai ran his inspections. To the silver haired (now Jounin) Mitsurugi, what he managed today would be the difference between a security break down and flawless excavation of a pesterous Reich; if he were unable to deliver upon his sworn duty to protect and serve in even menial tasks then certainly, he was not fit to wear the steel insignia of Konoha's regime on his left glove.

Such was the ways of a slacker acknowledging his responsibility to the bigger picture. Gene would not forgo his oath to Aina, to the Hokage and most importantly, to himself as a man. Rounding a corner with either hand comfortably resting in his pockets the stoic Jounin set his sights to a large Garrison just up the road. Some distance away, he could still hear the sound of laughter above the sound of shuffling feet and least of all, actual work being done. Already, the Eastern Garrison's obnoxiously loud tendencies were rubbing Gene the wrong way. Dragging an inhale through his nostrils followed by a brief count down from five before exhaling he prepared himself for what was to come.

A moment later, Gene took his first steps beyond the garrisons threshold and was met shortly after by a Jounin who'd been brief on his arrival before hand. "You're here, thank goodness. All of the Juin have been gathered in the main breeze way - they've been waiting for a while now so they've gotten pretty restless." Gene narrowed his eyes and sighed in defeat. He hadn't realized how long it took him to get here and hopefully he could make it up to the students with lessons that they could use for their careers. However, that was all based on if he even believed they had what it took to begin with. "I see, thanks for waiting on me." Gene replied calmly. Proceeding forward, Gene and the Jounin discussed the students as they walked and by the time he'd turned left and headed into the brteeze way Gene knew enough about each of them to at least not say something off handed that may have disheartened the group. Teaching children hadn't really been his thing but apparently, this particular group was well received despite their...tendency to be loud.

A pleasant surprise, once one of the Juin recruits recognized Gene they'd immediately passed word down through the rest of the group and before long the entire breeze way was filled with whispers and then...silence. Gene stood before them in parade rest, his expression one of indifference and something else...something not quite "present" in his eyes. It was almost as if he'd been staring through each of the students though he hadn't realized it himself and many couldn't retain eye contact for very long. Good evening, my name is Mitsurugi Gene and I'd like to thank all of you for being so patient." Right from the start he employed a self help strategy, thanking them for waiting on him rather than apologizing needlessly. "Before we start, would all of you please introduce yourselves?" The group of Juin consisted of fourteen individuals of all varying shades, heights, builds and backgrounds. Before he left today, Gene would make it a point to remember all of their names.
