it had been a fairly dull morning, hed just finished doing a mission harvesting potatoes and turnips for the village and was released for the evening. Sure it had been somewhat draining but he still had to do his workout regime. As such he purposefully made his way through the rowdy streets, filled with vibrant life, from headquarters all the way to the training grounds buying a water gourd on his way there.

Masaru stripped off his jacket and began stretching in the midday sun, out on the training field to start his workout. Wearing a maroon tank top that showed off his well developed arms, he practiced forms with his poleaxe. He would move from one position to the next. Slow, steady, purposeful; these are the words to describe his movements. His movements were trained and not jerk flowing from one stance to the next holding each for a good 20 seconds. A slight sheen of sweat began to cover his tanned arms as the sun beamed down upon him.

The forms themselves seemed to exercise a variety of muscles, not focused on one area but rather his full body; upper, core, and lower united together. If one observed they would see that his exercise seemed to be a combination of combat and yoga. A slight muscle strengthening to go along with the flexibility training. After he finished stretching he paused and got a drink of water moving towards the practice dummies as he drank. He took a noticably steady stance, seemingly with the presence of an immovable mountain. His voice sounded out with each strike and swing of his poleaxe.

It was just before the sun rose, when Takiru himself rose from his slumber. Still dark outside, he removed himself from his bed and walked to his window. Yawning and stretching simultaneously, he began the day as he would any other: examining the conditions outside, which very scarcely varied. Living in the Fire Country, and Konohagakure specifically, he grew accustomed to the comfortable weather conditions, and acclimated to the hustle and bustle of the very well populated village. Staring out his window, he weighed in his mind what should be accomplished that day. He had no actual responsibilities, which meant he would be doing what he what he did anytime he found himself with free time, and that was to train. Usually, it was a toss up between all the shinobi arts and the more physical, mental, and spiritual attributes that Takiru could focus on. Today, he felt very definite in his decision. Strength. After previously training relentlessly focusing specifically on Taijutsu, he figured he should follow it up with actual physical strength training. Wasting no time, he decided to begin before he even headed downstairs to eat breakfast.

Retreating from his window, Takiru moved to the center of his room. He dropped down into a push up and jumped back to his feet, completing a squat thrust or a burpee. He would go up and down about a hundred times, breaking into a sweat. After this quick warm up, he made his way down stairs. At this point, the sun had just risen and cast a light into the kitchen of his home. As per usual, his father was gone already. No matter how early Takiru woke up, he never could seem to beat his father out of the house. And again, as usual, his mother had breakfast prepared for him. Noticing his gleaming sweat, she sighed. "Already, Takiru?" she remarked, causing him to smirk in response. "Never too early to train, mom." With that, he scarfed down the eggs she made and without wiping his mouth, jumped up and told her he was headed out to train more extensively. His mother started to argue, but stopped herself, knowing it was futile. Instead of the outskirts of the village, or even remaining in the Senju compound, Takiru decided he would head to the most generic place in the village to train, maybe even finding someone to work out with. Who knew? Today he was feeling particularly social, as that skill came naturally but he normally had to force it.

Making his way through the village, Takiru was in his head and hardly in the moment. He ignored most of the people he passed, feeling like he was the only one walking through the streets. In his mind, if you weren't trying to become stronger, you weren't worth his time. He stopped for nothing and no one, and quickly made his way to the training grounds of Konohagakure. By this time, it was midday, and to his surprise there was no one in sight but one person. Before approaching the male, Takiru pulled his arms over his head and stretched just as an extra measure. After this he observed the boy. From a distance, he seem a bit taller than Takiru, with a similar shade of hair. After watching the boy for a few minutes, he saw him practice different stances with a poleaxe type weapon. It looked heavy, with a complex head. He watched the boy pause and drink out of what must have been a gourd of water, as anything else would have simply dehydrated him, quickly. After watching him swing his weapon around for a minute, Takiru approached him from behind, slowly, as he hacked into training dummies. He didn't see the boy's face, but he noticed the slow, deliberate movements he made whilst wielding his weapon. Once Takiru reached about 10 meters of the boy, he paused, and continued watching. His curiosity was getting the best of him, as he hadn't seen anyone use such a weapon. He meant to greet the boy, but he simply watched him, fascinated, standing at a distance.

Hearing the approach of the newcomer Masaru had assumed someone else had come to train and didn't pay them too much mind, continuing his training of physical finesse. His lance struck with increasing intensity each strike more forceful than the last leaving cuts in the wooden target as he broke his previous stance circling the target yet never backing away. His body whirled to and fro in a fierce dance of physical exertion. Sweat began to drip from his body flying off as he spun. As he pressed the assault he'd stop striking and shout loudly as if attempting to startle an opponent and catch them off guard. He'd jump high over the target before slamming the twin points of the pole arm down into the top of the training dummy his feet landing solidly on its 'arms' with a creak from the wood.

Anyone watching would feel that Masaru had a very forceful and demanding presence as if an enormous mountain was looming down at them from overhead. While the presence could be felt clearly by the newcomer it was obviously focused on the training dummy, the full brunt of the attack, and therefore pressure, being directed at it. Masaru seemed to weigh as much as the kage cliff. Back flipping off of the dummy in a brilliant display of acrobatics, he'd land resuming his previous rigid stance. On observation the stance was built from the ground up starting in the legs to increase stability in footing. Swirling the pole arm around quickly then slamming the head of his lance into the earth as if preparing to withstand a heavy strike. Again, looking at his body would remind one of a mountain, strong in steady in the face of the elements neither bowing down nor retreating but facing the opposition with endurance and raw power.

After holding the pose for a period he'd with draw his weapon pulling the blades from the ground. Masaru would then turn his glowing orange eyes towards the newcomer. "Hello there comrade is it your habit to stare at others as they train? Or were you simply curious of my techniques?" His tone was somewhat aggressive and sharp, cutting straight through the pleasantries of a greeting right into a conversation. His voice held a hint of impatience as if eager to return to training yet considerate enough in the question as not to be entirely off putting. It would seem he had something else disturbing him as he trained.

As Takiru observed the shinobi in front of him as he trained, several thoughts went through his head. First, who was he? Even though Konoha was large in population, he felt as if he knew this person, even though he clearly did not. Second, what was with the weapon he was wielding? With the swaying movements and stances he took, it appeared the lance resembling weapon was pretty heavy. Still, the intricacy in the design intrigued the young Senju. He watched the other shinobi circle a dummy, seemingly dancing with it. The young shinobi began to rotate furiously, seemingly exerting quite a bit of energy as droplets of moisture flung from his body. Takiru watched with observant eyes, simply taking in the aspects of another's training, which to him, appeared unorthodox.

Before Takiru knew it, the person in front of him would let out a yell, and would leap above one of the dummies, destroying it's head and landing firmly on it's arms. With the wood of the dummy creaking under the boy's weight, Takiru had one immediate thought. Heavy. He carried himself as if he was immovable, imitating maybe even a mountain, but heavy and broad nonetheless. Again with the acrobatics, the boy did a back flip off of the dummy and landed firmly, returning to a rigid stance that Takiru had first observed. At this point, it felt like the boy in front of him was being overly dramatic, possibly sensing or noticing Takiru's presence. The deliberate, heavy movements and stances, and even acrobatics, were not what impressed the young Senju. He was simply fascinated by the weapon itself, not so much with the stances and theatrics. However, the stance again reaffirmed Takiru's notion that the weapon was pretty heavy, as it appeared to focus on keeping the feet firm to maintain balance and stability. He noted this simply for the fact that the boy might not take Takiru observing very well, and Takiru felt the need to gather information on any possible immediate threat. The shinobi in front of him twirled the lance like it was simply a twig before planting it's head into the ground, as if preparing to defend from something.

Through all of this, Takiru remained entirely composed, simply blinking at the shout, but never flinching from anything the strongman was doing. It took quite a bit to impress Takiru, and though interested, he was far from impressed. Maybe the shinobi was simply training extensively, or always carried himself in such a manner, but the fact he carried himself as if he was an immovable object was comical to him. After holding this pose for a few moments, the shinobi pulled his polearm from the ground and turned to face Takiru suddenly.

"Hello there, comrade. Is it your habit to stare at others as they train? Or were you simply curious of my techniques?"

In his mind, Takiru chuckled, but he was not battle ready at that exact moment at this kid seemed to be, nor did he have any intention of attacking or participating in a full fledged fight. Thus, his response was one of honesty. "Honestly, you're the only person here so I figured I'd see what you were doing. And your techniques don't seem very special. I was more interested in the weapon you're wielding." Takiru was aware this may have came off as condescending, but hopefully the kid had a sense of humor and wasn't ready to fight over words. Besides, it seemed as if Takiru had bothered him by interrupting. "I'm simply here to work out. Sorry to have bothered you." With this, Takiru continued the workout he had began in his room earlier, doing squat thrusts. He did them slower this time, possibly doing only two or three before he expected a response from this defensive shinobi. This left him open for attack, though he hardly anticipated a cheap shot.

Masaru would listen to the stranger's words as he gave him a full look over. Judging by his garb and physical features he quickly came to the conclusion that he was a fellow member of the Senju clan... Though this was simply a guess. Not many aside from their clan wore such traditional garb. Going out on a limb Masaru decided to test his theory. "This? Its simply a lance with two heads. The weapon itself is nothing special. Have a look...Cousin. I'm assuming from your attire that you're also a member of the Senju clan." With a light toss the weapon would arc towards the newcomer, the weapon remaining horizontal to the ground a slight spin causing the heads to rotate forward. Should the opponent catch it they'd see that the weapon itself wasn't all that heavy. At least, not for its size.

"As for the techniques they're self-developed made by taking inspiration from nature. This line of techniques specifically focus on the solidity and weight of the earth. It's only one part of the Nature's Teachings style I'm developing. The earth was one of the easiest to draw inspiration from as I have a knack for using doton techniques."

Pausing at this point Masaru would seem to drift off in thought, his mind focused on what he could draw from the other elements. Fire for instance, he'd recently become well aquatinted with and would more likely than not make it his next focus. His body stiffened thinking about the flames before he shook his head to clear his mind of such dark thoughts. He would move past his trauma and not let it cage him.

"If my friend here can think of any other insights that might be incorporated into my style I'd be all ears. One should always seek to improve and further themselves and their techniques." Masaru's tone was noticably lighter overall. The exact cause of the change wasn't quite clear but it was at least obvious he was putting in an effort to be less confrontational.

Takiru had finished his second squat thrust, feeling this boy's eyes on him. When he stood back up straight, he felt a bit more relaxed as he was not attacked even though he took a huge risk. He listened to the boy's rebuttal, saying that his weapon was actually all that special. His second statement caught Takiru off guard. Cousin? This kid was a Senju as well? He wasn't as surprised that he was recognized as one, but he was a bit surprised he didn't realize this guy was a Senju as well. He didn't have any recollection of ever seeing him around the compound, though he could be mistaken. The lance was tossed to Takiru, and he caught it in one hand, seeing that it wasn't as heavy as it appeared.

Next, he began to explain the techniques he was demonstrating. He explained that the techniques drew inspiration from nature. This almost got a smile out of Takiru, as he too was very fascinated and inspired by nature. A Senju quality for sure. Takiru examined the lance closer. He wasn't much of a weapon user himself, but they still drew his interest. It was confident to put his weapon in a stranger's hands, even if they were related. At this point, his relative seemed to get lost in a thought, stiffening for a moment and then shaking his head, even though Takiru had not responded yet. Again, he began to speak.

Referring to Takiru as friend seemed a bit hasty, even if they were related. However, Takiru sensed that the aggression he first display had dissipated, which made him feel more comfortable and his posture reflected that. Though not a weapons expert by any means, he thought of the boy mentioning his affinity for Doton. Takiru too, of course, possessed this as well, but also Suiton. He pondered for a moment, and then tossed the lance back to it's owner in the same fashion it was thrown to him.

"I'm not much of a weapon user myself, but you should draw some inspiration from the ocean. Suiton is the other half of Mokuton after all. Maybe mimic the swaying motion of waves." Takiru paused, and pulled his left arm behind his head with his right, stretching. "I'm Takiru by the way." He introduced himself to his fellow Senju, and then dropped back down into push up position. He agreed that it was always good to work on improving, and he wouldn't be distracted just because he was having a conversation. Pushing up and down, he felt his muscles strain, and looked up at his cousin, anticipating a response.

Masaru would easily catch his lance as it was returned. He spun the polearm around absentmindedly. He was trying to get to the point that the weapon was merely an extension of himself. He wanted to be able to wield it without thinking to the point his control of the weapon came to him as naturally as breathing. Noticing the way Takiru never stopped exercising was a bit surprising but he simply assumed the young man was a fitness nut focused on body mastery. Besides, ceaselessly striving towards ones goals was the only true way to progress.

His bright orange eyes would widen as the senju mentioned the ocean. Masaru had never seen the ocean. He knew of it of course from class and his readings but he'd never actually seen it. "I've never seen the ocean but I've heard of it. Maybe a mission will tale me there in the future and I can indeed take inspiration from it. For now however, maybe i can use something closer. A waterfall or river. Maybe even a pond would do..." Masaru's voice would trail off as he got lost in thought his mind going in a new direction contemplating new techniques for water based Taijutsu styles.

Hearing the other Senju's name Masaru would come back to reality, before responding. "Masaru written Victory." He'd smile before letting his thoughts drift back to thinking about the famous falls and how the water crashes into the rocks endlessly. It was a good inspiration for a new technique he was sure of it. Another thought, a raindrop falling onto a calm lake and splashing back up only to fall down again. Would certainly make an interesting technique but would undoubtedly be a bit more complex.

Once his fellow Senju caught the lance, Takiru eyed him as he did his push ups, waiting for an introduction or even the slightest of reactions. He watched as his relative spun his weapon around, as if as naturally occurring as one tapping their foot. He jumped to his feet once more, and acknowledged his cousin's reaction.

As he replied, he seemed almost fascinated by the thought of the ocean. Never leaving the village, Takiru himself had never really seen the ocean in person, but he knew enough of it and it's properties that it could be replicated, even without seeing it. Most definitions alone provided enough description and differentiation from other bodies of water, still he watched his relative's eyes widen and and describe his experiences with bodies of water. He mentioned that maybe he should start smaller, such as a waterfall or a river. Though a river flowed, and a waterfall fell, he saw a large difference, Takiru chose not to address the discrepancy in his recommendation.

Shrugging, he simply nodded, as he finally learned the Senju's name. Masaru, written as victory. It was funny that he mentioned this, as Takiru's own name had been written as a combination of water and bend. He watched Masaru smile, and thought very little of it but maybe he was in fact taking his recommendations into accounts. Even so, Takiru smiled back, an dropped back into push up position, jumping back to his feet, and repeating the process in squat thrust motions.

Putting off the training for later he noticed his companion was once again exercising. Masaru was positive the young man before him was a true fitness fanatic. Their entire conversation he'd been moving and while the dedication was commendable, the behavior during a conversation was rather off putting. "You never stop do you?"

It was more of a statement, an observation, rather than a question. Masaru himself, was at an impasse. He wasn't quite sure whether or not to stay and continue to train or to say farewell. Although the other Senju didnt seem fazed by his presence his lack of focus to the conversation seemed to be a sign of disinterest. Feeling slightly awkward Masaru would slowly back away nodding. He'd then grab his gourd and move to head out.

Takiru’s constant exercising seemed to cause his cousin to be uncomfortable. The young Senju didn’t mind. He asked him if he ever stopped, and Takiru noticed that he was slowly backing away. He wasn’t going to beg for company, and having his curiosity satisfied knowing how his weapon worked, Takiru would let his cousin be on his way.

It may have came off as rude, but he was focused on becoming physically stronger and the conversation was just a courtesy. Continuing to do some push ups as he watched his cousin gather his things, he didn’t bother saying good bye as it seemed the conclusion was mutual. After doing about a hundred more push ups, Takiru would stand and stretch before leaving the training field as well. He was hungry and figured he’d go get some protein to top off his work out. Maybe he would see his cousin back at the compound now that he knew his face.
