Ink in the Water [Graded]

Post by TheLacarix » Tue May 19, 2020 5:42 pm

The heat swelled over the pair of Shio and Yoru, on their trip to ‘Lava Island’ a trip that had created quite a bond and formed a new organisation or at least the plans to start one, with the goal of creating a somewhat of a ‘support group’ for rouge shinobi that could work as a community and protect one another.

The Ex-Bannin of Konhagakure, gaze fell upon the young boy known as Shio he couldn’t be any older than his own brother Aizawa, Nobu. Of course Shio was leagues ahead of Nobu, perhaps even leagues ahead of Yoru himself, though his own brother had likely just graduated from the academy.

Though they weren’t exactly close it came apparent to Yoru that Nobu had began to resent him, though it didn’t stop Yoru wondering where he was. He pondered who his squad mates would be? Coincidently, Yoru had already met Nobu's squad mate some time ago.

Thick grey clouds covered the sky, rain ripped through them and splattered onto the ground below in the Land of Water. Yoru, much younger wearing a Konoha flak, was staggering through the rain holding a comrade, ‘Touta’ over his shoulder who had a wound on his left side, it was nothing fatal or so Yoru hoped.

“Will I be ok Captain?”
ask Touta, looking down at his own wound and then back into Yoru’s eyes, who smiled back and nodded “I think you’ll be fine, we’ll get you home and get it looked at.” His shoulder started to hurt from taking his comrades weight, but it had to be done. Awai, Fanho the third and final teammate was just out front leading the way home. His eyes could see through the dark, thunderous rain that laid before them, much better than Yoru’s could.

They had completed their mission, though not without a hitch. Yoru was exhausted and just wanted to get home and have the comforts of Konoha, Yoru yelled out to Fanho “When we get home, the beers are on me. God I need one.” Touta smiled up at his captain “I’ll attract the girls, they love a battle wound.” Yoru chuckled softly “The floosies you attract aren’t much to look at, but I’ve had worse.” He jested, Touta laughed so loud that he winced in pain from his wound “Be careful, you’ll end up hu-“

A loud curdling scream could be heard in the distance, Yoru and Touta turned to the sound “Keep moving.” Ordered Yoru, it wasn’t their concern and they had to get Touta home. The heavy rain continued to pour down, Yoru’s long red hair fell across his face as the rain dragged it down. He sighed softly, trying to decide what to do. Could he truly just leave someone who was suffering behind, Konoha Jounin we’re supposed to be the heroes, the beacons of light, the flame that never goes out. “Captain, I’m ok I promise.” It was obvious to Touta that Yoru was concerned about him and that’s why he was struggling with the decision.

“Fanho!”
Yoru yelled through the rain “Let’s go help.” Changing his orders, Touta pulled himself away from Yoru slipping out of his grip and standing on his own two feet “I’ll just be a little slow, but I’m ok.” Assuming Fanho agreed, the three would rush towards the screams.

Fanho peered out into the darkness and hurtling rain. Quite the day they had to be sent on a mission, visibility in the gutter, and a three man squad sent in with limited knowledge on the objective. It was no wonder one of the team got wounded, but regardless it had gone off rather successfully. The wound wasn't lethal, however it was quite painful and debilitating. It had made him rely on Yoru's aid to just move. With Yoru reassuring Touta, Fanho turned around and ushered a toothy grin with a thumbs up to reassure their third teammate. It wasn't long before Yoru had mentioned beers when the trio had gotten back, of which the shinobi shook his head. Yoru knew Fanho wasn't yet old enough to drink, but despite that he'd let the Bannin banter on. It wasn't long before the scream had reached their ears capable of making toes crawl, and Fanho's leg tense ready to pounce in the direction.

It wasn't long before the duo debating of Touta's injuries had decided on moving out towards the cry for help. "Touta you should stay on the outskirts and just keep eyes on the area watching our backs." Fanho leaped forward at a blistering speed through the trees, ducking, diving, and vaulting over the limbs that stood in his path he made record pace getting to the scene unfolding before them.

Darkness, terrors, fear and suffering filled the forest. Around a little speckle of light that was small camp fire, gathered a group of individuals whose intentions were could only be described in the worst possible manner. They surrounded a family of three, who traveled the land and lived of their hard physical labor, hunting and gathering natural resources which they could use for survival. The big, tough looking man was walking in the direction of the camp fire with a deer slung over his shoulder, this was going to be the dinner him and his wife and child would eat. The group closed in on the innocents. Their motives were unknown, but their nature was that of the evil kind. The gang encircled the family who still had no idea what was awaiting them, to them this evening was just like any other, but the gang would indulge if practices the brought pleasure only to the likes of them. Suddenly, the formation was broken as a figure dressed in black dashed forward silently and drove a ninjato up the spine of the man carrying the deer. After all these years of struggle, pain and suffering, trying to provide for his family it had all been in vain, in a split of a second the man was dead. The wife and the boy stood silently, not knowing exactly what happened, and then the man fell to the ground, revealing the culprit, dressed all in black with a bandaged face.

“Heheheheh, we’ll be taking this one!” The voice of the man sent shivers down the boys spine, it was high-pitched and disgusting. The youth stood still, not knowing what the hell he was to do. The culprit began walking towards the youth; more silhouettes appeared in the background and closed in on the innocent. The youth stood still, until his body took over, he grabbed a nearby rock and launched it at the man at full strength, then turned around and darted towards their horse wagon where his mother was. More evil laughter came as he darted across the camp, and then a fine lady appeared in the door of the wagon;

“What is all this racket going on out ere’!?” she shouted as she looked around to see the man laying on the ground, motionless. 'Takae!?' She continued as she began to realise what was going on around her. The boy ran up to her hand and began pulling her away, wanting to get her to safety. But then, crack another figure dressed fully in black appeared behind him and delivered a devastating kick that sent the youth flying back the way from which he came. The boy hit the ground gasping for air;

'...my ribs...' he let out before the man who murdered his father placed his foot on his head and held him down.

'What should I do with this one?' the man with the bandaged face said as his foot began to put more pressure on the boys head.

'Get r-...' the man was cut off by the woman who slapped him in an attempt to try and force him away. The man began insulting her and hit her multiple times, causing her to crash into the wagon, breaking some of the woodwork. 'For that I'm going to make you watch.' He continued and lifted her up by her hair and forced her to her knees, she was facing the little boy who was now being lifted by two men on each side.

'Izaki!!' She cried, her voice was full of sorrow, she was disappointed in herself, in allowing herself to let something like this happen. The man with the bandaged face stood behind the boy and placed his sword against his neck. He took a deep breath and looked at his mother, he knew exactly what was going to happen. He has watched his father do the same to the animals he hunted many times. The youth took a deep breath and embraced what was going to happen, in this situation, he had almost no viable options, any attempt of escape would only result in more pain and suffering.

The man moved his sword away from the boy as he prepared himself to swing it across the boys neck...

Ink in the Water

Post by TheLacarix » Sat May 30, 2020 9:13 am

Rain continued to pour down, getting heavier and heavier, creating small pools of water on the ground below. The crack of thunder echoed through the air; the sky looked as though it was getting ripped in two as electricity coursed through it and cascaded down with light. Yoru squinted through the storm, barely being able to see past his nose. He hurtled himself forward as quickly as he could, pounding through the puddles, splashing up the wrappings around his shins, making them damp.

His gaze fell over his shoulder, trying to make out if Fanho and Touta, just making out their silhouettes. His eyes widened with shock, as Fanho’s face came into view through the storm, he was keeping up with ease. Yoru was known to be the fastest man in all of Konohgakure, a title that seems wouldn’t be his for much longer. The screams seemed to of died down, normally that would be good news but perhaps whoever was screaming, couldn’t anymore. Pressing forward, Yoru increased his speed not having to set pace anymore, it wouldn’t matter if Touta got left behind, he’d need to stay back anyway and they needed to get to the source as quickly as possible.

Stopping to a halt, Yoru stood at the edge of a high ridge looking over the scene, the cliff tops encompassed the action below. A many laid face first in the dirt, it was obvious he wasn’t moving or even breath, he had to be dead. Yoru grimaced, his nostrils flared, pushing air from them in annoyance. If he hadn’t of hesitated when he first heard the scream, perhaps he’d have arrived in time, perhaps he could have saved this man, perhaps a wife would still have her husband and perhaps a boy would still have his father. Though perhaps didn’t matter anymore, there were two lives in front of him he could save.

A slender man, dressed in black with bandaged wrapped around his face, topped with a snigger seemed to be revelling at the suffering of the poor young boy that was trapped beneath his boot. A ninjato high above his head, it was apparent his intent was to slice through the boy. Withdrawing a kunai from it’s holster and flinging it through the air, hurtling it past the stranger dressed in black. Yoru timed it perfectly, the moment it passed by, he performed a single-handed seal and warped through space, his hand wrapped around the stranger, the kunai continued to hurtle forward as Yoru performed another seal warping the stranger away.

The pair landed away from the group, the strangers eyes widened through the bandage as he glared at Yoru, who’s eyes glared straight back. Yoru’s finger tips wrapped around his throat, slamming him against the cold hard rock of the mountain side, his hand pushed further and further crushing his wind pipe. The stranger lifted up his hand, which held the Ninjato. Yoru’s free arm, grabbed at his wrist snapping it like a twig. His hand grabbed at Yoru’s, his finger nails ripping into Yoru’s flesh in desperation to loosen the Bannins grip.

Yoru simply pushed harder and harder as the strangers life slipped away, there was no screams from the stranger, his vocal chords had being ripped to shreds. There was just a feint squeak. A smile ran across Yoru’s own face, his eyes filled with heinous intent as the strangers lasts words before he did were nothing but a simple squeak. The Bannin let his lifeless body drop onto the floor in a clump, he’d be left here to rot. He’d have no burial, he’d have no funeral and no one would mourn him. This man didn’t deserve a dignified death.

As Fanho trailed behind catching up to Yoru the rain drops appeared as if frozen due to the speed the two we're moving at. It wasn't long before they had approached the scene in all of its horror. Just at a glimpse, Fanho could see the loss of a husband and father before them, and soon it would be the loss of someone's son. Luckily Yoru's quick reflexes had allowed him to intervene at just the right time as he teleported away with the bandit dealing with him quickly as Yoru squeezed the life out of the man with the ninjato. While Yoru took his time with the one, like a blitz through the rain only a mist following Fanho strode through as he stood behind the man holding Izaki's mother. As the rain pitter-pattered off of Fanho's cloak the bandit turned his head slowly to face his new assailant as Fanho grabbed his hand which held the mother's hair. By applying immense pressure that greatly surpassed those of normal people he buried his thumb deep into the bandit's forearm snapping the tendons that held his hand in a grip with ease as the man's cries rang out into the rain.

The brutality of such would allow Izaki's mom to leave the danger of the bandit, and allow Fanho to do what he had to. "You bastard!" The bandit cried lashing out with his free hand that held a knife attempting to stab Fanho. The Awai simply caught the bandit's free arm with his other hand as he quickly snapped the other wrist completely disabling the man. With a swift kick to the back of the ankle the man crumpled over yelling from the pain, his attempts to pick himself up thwarted as his hands dangled from his wrists free of any intended movement. Fanho's eyes darted around the campsite counting the left over bandits that stood in the dark before glancing at Izaki and his mom to make sure they were secure and safe. With their safety at ease in his mind, Fanho darted once more leaving a mist in his wake as he approached the second target of his assault.

As swift as he moved he was on the man in minutes who attempted to slash Fanho, but instead was met with a punch to the chest that created a resounding thoom in the area and the flash of chakra as the man fell over dead with blood trickling from his nose and mouth, eyes rolled back into his head. Not even seconds after the third had came from behind Fanho waving his sword around attempting to cut Fanho of which Fanho responded in kind blocking the attack with a kunai before grabbing the mans throat and slamming him into the ground practically burying him as the ground shattered underneath his throw blood splattered from the bandit's mouth flying through as his life trickled from the corner of his mouth.

The fourth bandit would not receive as quick as a death as the third as, him and the fifth attempted to rush Fanho it was a clear decision. In the dark Fanho's eyesight, reflexes, and strength exceeded that. Even in the sunshine this was an unwinnable battle for the highway men. With the fifth and fourth approaching from Fanho's flanks the decision was easy to make. With the fourth bandit Fanho had darted behind him just as the fifth went in for an attack. Putting his all in an attack meant he had no choice but to follow through, unfortunately his blade making contact with his friend burying deep in his shoulder as blood sprayed in the dark coating the fifth bandit. The fourth gurgled a soft spoken "Why..." as he bled out in a way that in his final moments perhaps he'd have empathy for his own victims that had fallen victim to their blades. With the horrified look of the fifth bandit as his eyes adjusted to the dark letting him see the bodies of his comrades, with tears welling in his eyes he pulled out an explosive tag and lighter attempting one last futile attack as the wick of his lighter flickered several times in the rain before he caught a steady flame despite the wet environment. However it was too late as Fanho slowly walked towards him, the tag being too wet to be set ablaze.

Even if he had been successful in his attack, such a trivial thing of an explosive tag would have little use on Fanho. With Fanho's hand raised he issued a quick chop to the bandit's neck ushering a strong but moderated chop as the bandit fell over. Instead of blood from his mouth, it was the drool of the unconscious. The young shinobi would have questions for the man, and would want to take an introspective look over any ties to criminal organizations he'd have. After the miniature bloodbath that occurred from the five with the first falling unconscious due to the pain of his wrists being shattered and an ankle obliterated. Fanho slowly walked towards the mother and son duo appearing from the dark as their small campfire from the safety of their shelter had lit up the surrounding area. "Don't worry kid, you and your mom are safe now." With an introspective look around with Fanho's sensory he could tell Yoru was finishing up with his bandit, and that the only remaining signatures were himself, the two before him, the two bandits he had left alive, and Touta following behind slowly.

"I'm sorry about your father. There isn't anything we can do for him." Fanho crouched before the two a safe distance away so they could actually see him in the campfire light as he lowered his hood in the rain so they could see his face. If he were to make them feel at ease he'd present himself to the two so they would know who they were speaking to, and allow them to acknowledge that the shinobi didn't mean any harm. "You look injured. I can fix that." Fanho held his hand out allowing for Izaki to approach him rather than for Fanho to go to them.

The sword never came. The youth kept his eyes closed for a moment, until he eased one of them open, not sure whether he would see a damp, dark forest, or the nothingness of the afterlife. Luckily for him, it was the former. He did not know what happened; he turned his head and realised that the man who was going to take his head vanished. When he looked up at the two men stood beside him, he realised that they were both as surprised as he was. Suddenly, a loud, vicious cry came from where his mother was stood. Izaki looked, expecting to see his mother being cut in half, but to his surprise, his mother was fine, it was the bandit that was now crying for his life. A cloaked figure appeared beside the evil man and disabled him with ease; what followed was just a blur.

The cloaked figure single handedly managed to render the gang unable to carry out any further evil deeds. The moment his hands were free, he got back onto his feet and darted towards his mother. His little arms wrapped around her neck and her arms wrapped around him, he realised how dear this woman was to him. But they were not safe yet. The moment Izaki could he turned around to see what the cloaked figure was doing; Izaki saw a flash that caused one of the bandits to fall to the ground with blood gushing out of his nose and mouth. 'What the...' the youth let out, his eyes were trying to make out movements of the cloaked figure in the darkness but soon, the figure began walking towards them. Instinctively, Izaki moved to stand between the figure and his mother. The youth had no idea what the man was going to do, but he was put slightly at ease when the individual removed his hood.

The man had blonde hair, blue eyes and wore a headband strapped to his forehead. Izaki has seem them before, he knew that this guy was a shinobi. He did not know what the symbol on his forehead meant but considering the man had just saved his and his mothers lives, he must have been a good guy. The man spoke, about his father and then about his injuries. After a brief moment of thought, Izaki began to move towards the man, only to have his hand grabbed by his mother who shook her head; 'Mum... If he wanted to hurt us, he would have done so already...' he could not blame his mother for being cautious, but at this very moment they were at the mans mercy, and his true intentions would soon be revealed. Izaki crept up to the man who had his hand slightly extended, his eyes did not leave his hand. The youth was trying to remain calm and under the pressure of the situation, it could be easily seen that his movement were rather jerky, he did not move smoothly like people normally did. Eventually, the youth got close enough and stopped. '..W-...Who are you...' the boy let out, his voice was so quiet even the man might struggle to hear him.

The pitter patter of rain hitting across the ground and the sound of Yoru’s breathing was all that could be heard as he bounded over the lifeless body. His hazel eyes looked upon the corpse, his nostrils flared as an almost inaudible chuckle escaped his lips. The rain dragged his long red hair down the back of his flack jacket and across his face, his fingers ran through the crimson locks, tying them into a tight ponytail to get them out of the way.

Looking over his shoulder, Fanho seemed to be dealing with the young boy and his mother and equally had dealt with everyone else. Yoru nodded, impressed by the young Jounin, now as fast as the notorious Bannin, almost as powerful as the Hokage Takeo. Perhaps one day he’d even take his place, he certainly seemed a decent candidate.

Slowly walking back towards the opening, Fanho seemed to holding his hand out offering it to the boy, who seemed confused and dazed, it was understandable he’d just witnessed a group of people just slaughter his father and now two strange men had just slaughtered that very same group.

Yoru’s gaze fell upon the father, it was apparent there was nothing they could do. Not even iijutsu could save him now. It was possible for Yoru and Fanho to reverse time and bring the man back to life, stop the events from ever happening. However it was far too late, perhaps if Yoru hadn’t of hesitated they might of made it in time. Though there was no point fretting now, what was done was done.

“We are shinobi of the leaf village.”
Yoru replied to the scared boy’s question, adjusting his flak jacket. He didn’t step too close, he didn’t want to overwhelm the pair. Touta slowly pulled himself over the ridge, he was breathing heavy and obviously exhausted, bounding over to Fanho he stood behind him readying to offer his medical abilities if need be.

"I'm Fanho. I'm from the Awai clan of Konoha." Fanho channeled a bit of chakra as a light began to grow from his back an orb forming before floating above the group's fire lighting up much more of the area than the fire had. The light stretched touching the edges of the forest that bordered their campsite. Fanho reached out placing the back of his palm against Izaki's as he began to speed up the youth's healing factor with Space/Time. By tightening time the cuts, bruises, aches, and pains had begun healing on their own at a rapid rate. Much faster, in-fact any broken bones, fractures, or dizziness would fade quickly away too. A purple shroud coating Izaki as the healing took place. Fanho wasn't much of a doctor, as a matter of fact he didn't know any iijutsu at all. His only claim to healing was that of doing it through Space/Time, albeit Fanho was medically knowledgeable able to strike people where it really hurt.

"I'm not necessarily a doctor, but our squad mate Touta here is. He can give you a look over, and make sure that you're fully healed." As Fanho stood up from his squat he looked around the forest as the light weaved in-between some trees, and disappearing behind others. He glanced at Yoru, before looking back at Izaki. "Come back with us to the village. I can tell you two aren't shinobi, so I'm not worried about any spying, and I'll vouch for you at the gates. It'll be safe there, and we can make sure you guys are comfortable. Its the least I can do for not being fast enough." The young Jounin looked back at Izaki's father regrettably. If only there were more time and he was faster. However he'd at least try to make it up to the late man by promising a safe and prosperous future for his family.

The man who identified himself as Fanho of the the Awai of the village Hidden in the Leaves created an orb that began to hover about the campfire and began to shine like the sun; the area around them became brighter than it would be in the midst of a summer afternoon. The little youth extended his hand towards the man; upon connection, a strange feeling ran through his body. A multitude of stimulus erupted within him and suddenly he began to feel restored, rejuvenated; it felt like he had not experienced and kind of pain in for weeks. He then looked up at his hands and noticed the purple gleam that covered his skin. 'Wha-...
What is this...?'
the youth muttered in astonishment at the sorcery he just witnessed. His eyes diverted to the man named Fanho, then to the figure with red hair that graciously appeared from the shadows of the night. The tranquility of his demeanor behaved like a magnet; causing the youths attention to gravitate towards him. It made the youth forget, for a split second, about what has just occurred in this forest.

A moment later, his attention was recaptured by Fanho who had presented Izaki and his mother with an opportunity that could change their lives forever. The fear ingrained in him from the events that occurred have already had an impact on him. The technique used by Fanho was beginning to fade and the youth was beginning to return to his senses. As the other men neared, he took a step back to his mother; standing between them. Although he felt completely restored, the feeling of fear flooded in as he began to realize how useless he had been and that if these three had decided to, they could easily do whatever they wished. Izakis face appeared frozen, as his mind worked hard to figure out what steps he should take, whether him and his mother should trust them. His heart rate was elevated, his breathing was shallow, the events of the night were beginning to dawn on him; his breathing increased and suddenly the little youth dropped to his knees and grabbed his top around the chest area. He was struggling to breathe, he was beginning to hyperventilate.

Yoru’s eyes shifted towards Fanho has he began to offer the boy a place in the village, his eyes narrowed in annoyance “Fanho, you don’t get to make that decision nor I.” he said with a firm commanding voice, almost as though to be reminding Fanho not to over step his mark “We can take him back to the village and hokage and the council will make that decision.” Perhaps Yoru seemed cold in this moment, but he was trying to be a realist.

The young boy seemed to be hyperventilating, it was apparent to Yoru that the young boy was going into shock. Pulling off his flak jacket, he rolled it up and placed it on the floor “Lay down.” He said in a firm commanding tone, he nodded to Touta “Make a stool of doton.” Who immediately weaved a short set of hand seals as the doton raised up “Put your feet up and breath, slowly try and relax.” He ordered.

His attention turned to Fanho “Let’s start getting ready to move out, it’s not safe round here and we could stumble into anyone at any point.” He pushed his hands into his pockets as the rain continued to pour down, Yoru shivered from the cold as he wasn’t wearing his flak jacket “Keep your sensory techniques at the ready.”
