Today had not been a good day for Senju Masaru, but the reason as to why was beyond him. He woke up that morning in a foul mood and had lost his temper quite a few times throughout the day over the smallest things such as someone spilling their coffee on him. He needed to vent, to just scream and let all the built up frustrations out before he actually let his anger get away. And so the young muscular genin went to the Senju training ground and began practicing his jutsu. He'd been playing with an idea in his head for some time now and he wanted to put it to the test. He took off his coat and his well sculpted body was clearly visible through the tight red tank top he was wearing. The musles on his arms rippled with strength as he stretched. He turned an intense gaze towards a training log and decided to make that the target of his retribution.

The young man closed his eyes and took a deep breath exhaling slowly, his skin slowly turning grey as he did, while his tattoos started glowing golden. Following another long slow breath hed open his eyes and begin punching away at wooden log. His form was a mess and sloppy. It was clear that his strikes were more geared towards pure violence than actual training. As he vented his frustrations the spirit's chakra began flowing through him and focusing in his hands. Soon the training log began to smoke and char from the repeated assault as if it was being hit with scorching blast of flames.

As he continued to strike the katon energy in his hands continued to rise increasing in intensity. His hands started smoking as if he was holding a piece of kindling that was smoldering and felt increasingly hot. Masaru however, so blinded in his rage and violent assault failed to notice at first. It wasn't until the fleshy tissues of his hands actually converted to flames like a fiery claw that he noticed and paused to take in the changes that had been briught about. He felt the way the katon chakra was flowing in his hands and memorized it before forcefully restraining the fiery energy burning through them. With cessation of the chakra flow the jutsu he'd discovered ended and his hands returned to normal.

He thought of the way the chakra had flowed into his hand previously and this time he tried to draw the spirits strength intentionally all while hearing a dry chuckle from within in from the spirit. "Maybe you arent a completely without talent after all. To be able to discover my innate jutsu through instinct is a talent in and of itself. But I wonder how far can you take this?" He was surprised the spirit actually gave him a compliment as his hands once more converted into flames from his focus and application of channeling.

He resumed his assault on the training log whilst his hand blazed with a fiery strength and after a couple of strikes set ablaze. As he watched it burn he felt a strong sense of release and peace wash over him. While the transformation helped feel and utilize the katon nature of the spirit better, it normally also made his sense of anger and frustration more intense. In this sense of peace his hands returned to normal from their flaming form.

By channeling the spirits katon chakra into his hands, Masaru is able to temporarily convert his hands into flames similar to an katon e-body. The flaming hands burn with a strength equal to his control stat. The transformation leaves his hands vulnerable to suiton jutsu and any suiton damage dealt to them in this form damages his fleshly body like acid and any severance or destruction to the hand is carried over when the transformation ends. Damage can be recovered normally with his regeneration ability when unchanged or by gathering more katon element to repair the damage while transformed like an e-body.

Haruka was just leaving the senju house for a break when she straps on her training weights then heads out and soon after she began to wander aimlessly. She then started to absentmindedly reflect on current events as she was just recently with her current adoptive parents at least for now. There was no telling if it would be a permanent thing, though she hoped it would be because would suck to be alone. Then after a bunch of aimless wandering she ended up arriving in the senju training grounds, she didn’t intend to train originally and just walking around with her usual training weights was technically training in its own right.

Though since she was here she may as well do something extra and headed in but soon after she did a thought crossed her mind since she was training she wouldn’t need to use her usual ear plugs so she decided to take them out. After that she start walking around when suddenly she heard someone training somewhere to the west of the training ground so she decided to go to the east on the other side so she wouldn’t bother them. After a bit of walking she finally made it and started to train her new style of taijutsu from a outsiders perspective she would be normal dancing.

Though those with a fine eye who were good at discerning movements (perception technique rank c or higher) would notice it was actually a fighting style that nearly identically mirrored dancing. She would then begin trying to carefully refine the movements move and more so they were sharper and with less wasted movement. As she practiced a thought crossed her mind, ‘ it sure is lonely training alone ‘ but she really didn’t want to bother the other person and risk them getting mad.

Despite being a Special Jounin now and being assigned to a new squad, led by a close friend and training partner Yozei still felt horribly unaccomplished in his taijutsu training. Zakuro had helped condition his body and broken some of his lazy, pampered habits but when it came to really dedicate himself to a particular style of fighting Yozei found himself only picking up some basics, learning the theory and then moving on. He knew he couldn’t avoid close combat forever though it was so easy for him to dominate his opponents through ninjutsu alone.

As he walked toward the Senju compound, hoping to find one of his new teammates to train with, he dipped a finger into his kunai holster, practicing twirling it out of the holster and into his grip like his uncle had shown him back when he was a Genin. He remembered how cool it always was to watch Yoru and his skill with a kunai, both in close combat and projectiles. He only wished he was around to teach him, he had been thought dead, but he wasn’t entirely convinced, something nagged at his gut that the man had actually become a rogue shinobi. Perhaps it was those conflicting feelings that had been holding him back from pursuing the styles of combat he knew suited him the best. He had been getting better at the single finger draw at least, to the point that he could do it quite consistently and without having to put conscious thought into it.

Every now and then he didn’t quite grip the hilt right, but it had been a while since he had actually fumbled the knife enough to drop it. Likely he would eventually want to train the same kind of response with his non-dominant hand but for now he was content to succeed with his right hand. It didn’t take too long of wandering through the Senju compound before he found his way to the training ground and fortunately found Masaru practicing against a training log. He had seen the other teenager use Katon before and the change in his body when he glowed. The two of them were quite similar in many ways and Yozei hoped to get to know him better and hone their teamwork. It still amazed him that a spirit could actually grant an element one’s genetics normally simply didn’t mesh with, quite the unique individual indeed. “Yo, Masaru. Glad I found you here, was hoping to play around with my kunai skills a bit. Want to help me out?” he asked casually before noticing that the Senju’s flaming hands seemed a little different from what he might have expected from a jutsu like that. “Man, that’s pretty badass. Is that pure fire?” he wondered getting in closer. It was still really neat seeing the darkened skin and glowing patterns form an outside perspective and not for the first time he wondered just how similar the spirit that affected him was to the one inside Masaru.

Utilizing this Maneuver, the user is able to quickly draw a kunai from its holster. This is done by placing their finger through the lip of the holder and into the ring of the pommel, flicking it up and out quickly, having the kunai in the user’s hand within an instant.

He was relaxing watching the training log burn listening to the crackling noises of the flames. The short moment of quiet and peace was short lived and he heard a familiar voice break the tranquility of his mind. However, where he would have snapped at his fellow squadmate before his training now he instead was excited to see him. When he asked about the jutsu he was just using, he channeled katon chakra once more into hands and they transitioned back into the fiery state once more.

"Yeah, apparently it's an innate ability of the spirit sealed within me. Not sure of the limitations or exact draw backs but it certainly seems cool at least. I wonder if its only limited to my hands..." Masaru channeled the katon through his body like he had done for his hands. Immediately, a painful burning sensation spread throughout his body aside from his hands and feet. His left arm started burning like a piece of paper but unlike the previous jutsu it was actually burning up turning his skin black and charred. He swore and stopped the channeling and looked at his injury. It was already glowing as Iburo's gift started regenerating his body. The worse injury had turned white like hot metal slowly fading to a cherry red at the extremities of the wound.

"It would seem I've yet to grasp enough control over the spirit's power. Let's try that again without turning myself into a human bbq."

Channeling the katon chakra to his feet the only area he remembered that he didn't feel pain in aside from his hands. After a few moments his feet would alight as his body once more converted into flames. Unfortunately, Masaru was still wearing his footwear and the flames immediately consumed it. "Note to self dont wear clothes when using this jutsu..." Looking at his feet he'd wiggle his toes then glance back andforth from a new training log and Yozei giving him a smirk. He'd launch a series of kicks at the training log without holding back. The training log would soon become scorched from the fiery assault and grooves could be seen where his toes struck the target. "You wanted to train together right buddy?"

He'd ask 'innocently' before doing a back spin kick towards Yozei. He wasn't worried at all about him getting hurt, he knew his squad mate had faced greater threats than him and come out on top. After impact he'd use the rebound to send another kick towards him. The two blazing training logs would be sending up smoke into the sky as he tried out the new jutsu.

As Haruka was continuing to practice her movements while at least having fun, when suddenly she heard another person suddenly pull out a kunai and she got curious so she started to approach wondering if someone else was here to practice. She did her best to be sneaky so she wouldn’t be spotted, and when she got to the middle ground of the area maybe a little further away she heard them starting to speak. After what she heard she was pretty surprised since senju shouldn’t be able to use fire. As she kept listening in she would hear about the spirit.

Then she decided to get closer so she could actually see what was going on since was near impossible to see anything from this distance. Then she moved from where she was to the west side several feet from there location and started to watch him bbq himself then heal himself. Causing her to look on in shock, but looked relieved and also curious when he started to regenerate, she then saw him try using it on his feet and attack the other person. If it wasn’t for the fact that she heard the man want to train with him she would be worried.

Since they were going to be fighting she wondered if they would be less likely to notice her so she decided to take a gamble and carefully and sneakily find a place nearby that was partially concealed so she could watch them fight while hopefully preventing them from seeing her or at least making it less likely but still have enough room for her to practice. She would then go back to practicing her taijutsu stance and begin what looks like to others assuming they can actually see her normal dancing. Though it was kind of hard to concentrate on both watching them fight and actually practice she made do.

Yozei kept a few feet away in a casual stance as he absentmindedly twirled his kunai around his finger on his right hand. He quite interested in the development of his friend’s skills, Masaru’s spirit was actually properly sealed in him and it seemed likely that he drew upon its power differently than Yozei who had learned that rather than being sealed his encounter with a fire spirit of some sort had actually damaged his soul, corrupting it and creating a unique mixture of chakras and abilities that seeped into him and flared up when in crisis situations. He watched as the rest of his body began to catch on fire, his body actually burning as evident from the smell. “looks like it’ll take time to get the hang of…you okay?” he wondered casually, expecting him to be just fine with his regenerative properties but it was the possibility of his soul being damaged and corrupted like his own that he worried about. He still wasn’t sure if there would be long-term consequences of such a thing. He had been told by medical shinobi it was irreversible and possible it could worsen and consume him entirely, leaving him husked or killed if he wasn’t careful about using the transformed state. ‘Seems different from the Mizukage’ he reflected, recalling how the man seemed to be composed of flames but didn’t actually burn like flesh. Despite his youth, Yozei was someone that could boast to having fought against three of the five current Kage’s and held his own remarkably well.

He nodded, with a reassuring smile as his cerulean blue eyes look on, appreciating this friend of his and all their similarities. “Yeah, if anyone’s going to roast you at least let it be me” he teased, though truthfully Yozei hated the smell of burning flesh and the haunting screams that came of burning someone alive. He still woke up in a sweat occasionally from nightmares of his own terrifying power and what he could and had done to people. But Masaru he knew was strong and could heal quickly, he knew how to hold back enough to not burn him too badly. And likewise, if it came to anything too serious the spiritual chakra within himself would heal him as well. The auburn-haired teenager let out a light huff of amusement at the melting shoes and then readied himself after the log took some impactful blows. It seemed it was time to get a little work in himself. “Hell yeah!” he replied with a grin as his friend spun and lashed out with a flaming kick.

Soft Paws is a bare-handed deflection technique and is used against bladed weapons. At this level, the practitioner is able to read the angles of the attacks to place the flat of their hand against the flat of the blade and push it away without getting cut by the weapon. However, prolonged use of this technique will cause the practitioner to suffer bruises on their hands.

Light and swift on his feet, Yozei kept his gripped kunai center of body like he had been taught, fluid like water or a leaf blowing in the wind. That was the style his ‘uncle’ the famous Bannin; Aizawa Yoru, had created many years ago. He only barely managed to move his body out of the way, smashing the flat edge of the thick knife against Masaru’s ankle, just above the part that was fire. He wasn’t sure how tangible the fire actually was, it seemed to have some substance and impact, but he didn’t want to get to close to it if he didn’t have to.

Unfortunately, while Yozei was able to keep up with his friends' speed he was still a little bit stronger than him and was attacking with a lot more weight behind him. The best he could do was barely redirect the kick but it still staggered Yozei backward and made him fight for his footing, nearly twisting his ankle as he fought to keep light and upright, though lowering his stance a bit to keep himself steady. The first block had been made from the inside outward to his left and as the next came in he switched his grip and angle, attempting to move to the outside and deflect the kick right, though it came in too fast and strong, catching his hand and sending the kunai flying. The familiar feeling of burns on his thumb, palm and fingers surged through his body. Unlike Masaru he couldn’t heal so readily nor in his passive state, only when he was truly in crisis would the spiritual corruption save him. The young Special Jounin winced and gritted his teeth, backpedaling and making a small leap as he drew another kunai despite the pain. “Not bad buddy, your kicks are getting better” he commented. Typically, Masaru used a polearm to fight but he knew he had some solid foundation in hand-to-hand combat too and he was certainly a more physically inclined individual than himself. Though Yozei was more of a mid-range fighter and if allowed to keep a distance he would certainly make use of that.

A technique that relies highly on speed, much like a floating leaf being swept away by the wind, the user will attempt to slap away any incoming melee strikes or projectiles with their kunai. The average of the user's speed and strength needs to be higher than the strength the projectile was thrown at, using the momentum of their own speed to deflect the strike.

"Might be a bit dangerous but mind helping me work on a little project? This was something I found while blowing off steam but the real project will be revolutionary!"

Masaru had no clue how well this would work as he'd yet to officially try but nothing like going at it in the heat of the moment. He cancels the flaming foot jutsu and starts doing hand seals summoning his chakra and the spirit's together. "Don't say I didn't warn you!" Upon completion he'd punch his fist into the earth. At first there'd be a slight rumble in the earth and then... Nothing. He'd stay there in pose not moving. He was confused he thought it would work... He tilted his head confused and put his ear down to listen.

No sooner than his ear touching the ground a massive 3x3x1 meter block of burning wood suddenly burst out of the ground with the full strength of his chakra. The sudden appearance caught him completely off guard hitting him right in the face. The force behind the block rising sent him flying through the air with a slight whistle. As he flew through the air he'd vaguely hear Iburo laugh within his head. His mind would be too scattered from the sudden assault to form proper thoughts. With a boom a small crater would be created in the ground from crashing near where Haruka had been training.

As he sat up the world was still spinning and a horrible pain came from the side of his head. His jaw was crooked and appeared broken in several place while the skin itself had blistered over. Like clock work his injuries would begin to glow white hot around the breaks and cherry red around the burns. He'd blink a bit and look around him the only one word coming out of his mouth. "Oww."

Haruka watched the fight definitely interesting it seemed one was far more skilled then the other but based on the way the other struggled to defend the attacking one was also stronger. She kept observing and noticed the one who was more skilled using a technique she herself knew. As time went on she noticed as she watched one of them started a jutsu though it seemed to backfire and send him flying. When he landed near her she was still dancing but stopped soon after to check on him and bends down to look at him saying “uhhh are you alright?” If he didn’t respond soon after that she would say “ What’s your name? Can you speak?” if he could speak and responded she would start talking to him.

If he didn’t say anything soon after talking to him she would look over to see the other guy to see his reaction to this, if he was laughing still after all this time she would ignore it and go back to what looked like dancing. For those watching it was a rather beautiful dance a maybe even Ensorcelling depending on how observant they were they may even notice the training weights she was wearing on her legs.

Yozei observed his opponent cautiously, ready to use his kunai as a projectile, rush in or evade and counterattack depending on how the Senju moved in the next few moments. While he wasn’t an outright powerful taijutsu combatant, Yozei was good at being evasive and tactical and making use of opponents that were provided to him. Furthermore, he was a natural and shifting between combat styles and ranges and making the most of any situation. This was a testament to not only being trained by elite Jounin and Bannin since he moved to Konoha and entered the academy but also his wide variety of combat experience over the last few years. Truthfully, he couldn’t remember the last time anyone his rank or below truly challenged him but he still preferred to train with others rather than alone and it was refreshing to check his talents against others his own age every now and then. He had a late start to the life of a shinobi but seemed to have more than made up for it.

He decided it was time to get a little bit more serious. There were a few techniques he had been picking up from his step-mother, and one of them was delving into a style known as skitter step. It came at a price but opening his senses and increasing his reflexes was worth a little bit of jitters. Relaxing himself he opened his mind to everything around him. Though his eyes grew wider and his fingers twitched lightly he was still the same person and was happy to continue lighthearted banter. Though it would be much more difficult for his opponents to land any kind of blow against him. Bouncing up and down he observed his opponents.

He chuckled as Masaru spoke of dangerous training, “When do I ever say no to danger?” he replied, smiling widely. There was some of his father in him, specifically his recklessness and love of being challenged, that was certain. Though when it came to real combat that’s where he differed, always keeping calm and focused and not risking himself or his comrades needlessly nor trying to be the hero if he didn’t have to. As Masaru formed seals, Yozei briefly wondered if he should protect himself in his signature Doton armor, but then he didn’t feel he was in any real danger and his challenge for the day was to only use taijutsu. Relying on his prodigious ninjutsu abilities so much was what had led to his growing overconfidence in the first place.

C-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
The main jutsu of the Skitter Step, the practitioner takes a moment to focus their bodies, then releases it. While in this stance, the practitioner's sensory input is increased, allowing them to receive more information quickly. This Stance grants a +2 in Strength and a +4 in Speed but a -3 in Willpower and -3 in Control. This Stance will remain in effect until deactivated by [Stop]. Practitioners of this technique will find themselves fidgeting and constantly moving, which can make it difficult for the practitioner to use this style in a stealthy manner.

He moved the kunai into a throwing position. If it was a real fight, he wouldn’t have waited long enough for the jutsu to be complete, but this was just to practice with a friend. “Performance issues?” he teased again, laughing lightly. And then the ground rumbled but not where he stood, rather the structure emerged under Masaru himself emerging quite quickly and with great power to strike the athletic Senju square in the jaw. “Oooh” Yozei exclaimed in empathy, cringing at the painful sound and stowing away his kunai as he ran to attempt to catch his friend, diving just short of time as he slammed into the ground in front of him. “Sorry man, you good?” he questioned, hovering over him and then noting the younger girl in the area. Had she been there the whole time? He observed her unique tail and ears, “Aoi?” he muttered, mistaking her for his ‘cousin’ at first, the daughter of the Bannin, Inuzuka Masami. In fact nearly every Bannin in Konoha was considered family to him in some way. After a moment though he realized her tail was completely different, more cat-like rather than short and fluffy like a dog. She went back to her dancing which he viewed simply as a good form of exercise and coordination. “You know you could have at least tried to catch him, guess you are kind of big though” he considered looking back down at his friend and the size difference between them though he knew plenty of shinobi that were far stronger than they looked.

Rushing to spar against the girl he would approach, waiting for her to attack with her kunai before ducking under the swing, using his free hand to redirect the attack and follow up with a punch with his free hand. This was a technique that relied on the opponent to make the first move and it wouldn’t be effective if his opponent was faster than him. In this case however he felt confident he was able to out maneuver the girl that was to be his opponent. She seemed lithe and athletic but he had more experience and a variety of styles to draw on. If he was successful in his attack he would be sure to simply hit the girl with enough force to stagger her but not do any serious danger. This was another technique he had learned from Aina but he still wasn’t too proficient in getting the timing down.

Ducking under an attack from either side, the practitioner lifts their off-hand just enough to touch the weapon against its side and shove it outward, adding to its momentum to either imbalance the opponent or disarm them. As the practitioner comes up from under the attack, they will aim a direct punch at the opponent's face or chest.

He heard an unfamiliar voice from near by and it threw him off as he hadn't realized there was someone else on the training grounds. He personally tried to keep his ability to use Katon underwraps as there was a negative stigma associated with jinchukiri in the village. He was especially trying to keep the new jutsu he'd been concocting a secret. He slowly stood up and looked at the new face warily while rubbing his face, the blisters already gone leaving behind redness. He wasn't quite sure if the heat eminating from the wound was due to the burn or his healing ability. He looked at the cat girl as Yozei approached. She seemed somewhat concerned but he couldn't really open his mouth to respond as his jaw healed, lest the damn thing set wrong. It was broken in multiple places after all. He pointed at his chest then gave a thumbs up as a response hoping Yozei would answer the question of his name. He gestured to his jaw then put his hands together and made a snapping motion.

He thought back to his jutsu and tried again, carefully controlling the amount of chakra used to intentionally make the jutsu weaker. As his fist punched the ground itd rumble and 5 meters away another block of burning wood would rise out of the ground at a snail's pace (speed 1) and the heat coming off of it would be much lower. He'd give it a kick and nod satisfied with the result. It was a new element, an unnatural combination of katon and mokuton. Glancing at the first block he'd notice the heat coming off of it was steadily growing more intense. He rubbed his jaw again as the bones seem to set and slowly rotated the jaw carefully putting it back in place. (End training on Hellish Wall)

"This is gonna take a while to heal as its broken... Hrmm this could be a decent training opportunity... Mind giving me a moment Yozei? I'm gonna try to increase the healing speed so we can get back at it sooner."

The young Senju would channel more chakra into his jaw focusing on one break at a time and not bothering to deal with the burn as it would heal on its own rather soon. The wound would glow brighter as the healing factor sped up the area of white glow spreading and it began to put off even more heat. Masaru would focus his attention on the actual process of the healing and how it functioned as he did trying to learn as much as he could about the ability. Unfortunately, he had no knowledge of iijutsu and so he had no idea how miraculous his rapid healing really was. His knowledge of how the human body worked was limited to knowing what parts of an enemy's body to target and why. Well that and that food and drink went in, then shit and piss came out.

Along with the heat the pain from the wound itself increased. Whether it was from the increased heat or the chakra stimulation of the cells in the injury he was unsure. Thankfully Masaru had a remarkable tolerance for pain from his torment at the hands of his sealed spirit. Who at the moment seemed incredibly disastisfied with him. 'You're so slow. Why is it taking so long for you to heal up? A minor injury like this would've been healed already had you give your body over to me.'

'Keep dreaming. You're staying sealed I refuse to let you harm the village.' Masaru would reply to the soirit venomously. If anyone could hear their internal dialogue it'd be plain to see they didn't quite get along.

With a dark chuckle Iburo would simply reply, 'You seem to be doing that well enough on your own.'

The spirit struck a chord and Masaru stopped replying to it. Instead, he turned his focus back to the wound and channeling chakra into it. It was slowly but steadily healing faster than his normal rate. Clearly the injury was worse than he initially assumed, granted he wasn't a doctor; he wasn't trained for this crap. He contemplated adding even more chakra to the healing to speed the process up even more but hesitated remembering that using to much chakra in a jutsu is what had gotten him into this mess.

"This is gonna take longer than I initially planned maybe you can train with our new friend here? Wont take me too much longer but it'll definitely take me some more time."

Haruka didn’t really care about whether he was a jinchuriki or not he was still a person to her so she treated him the way she treated anyone else. When he finally started to motion to her she pretty much understood what he meant and said “so your jaw is broken that sucks sorry to hear that.” She would then watch as the minor wounds started to regenerate and said “normally I would go get a doctor but you don’t seem to need one.”

She would then wait a bit and hear him talk roughly so she would respond by pointing towards Yozei and saying “so your name is Yozei? Nice to meet you I’m Haruka” she would then say “if you guys don’t need me I will be practicing my jutsu again,” she would wait for a bit then hear the new guy speak and say “that sounds good i would be happy to train with you” she would then walk over to Yozei and wait to see how he responds depending on what he said would determine how she would decide to respond.

If he said yes she would say “ok sounds good since it’s just training I will hold back a little if you want?”

Yozei gingerly touched his thumb against his finger, feeling the swelling blisters and forcing himself to get used to the pain. It wasn’t that bad but it would be more difficult to practice his kunai skills if he couldn’t push through the pain. Squeezing harder he forced the blisters to pop while looking down to see that his friend seemed alright aside for his jaw. “Oh, this is Senju Masaru” he introduced for him. “You’re more a hazard to yourself than I am you know, knocking yourself out before I can even get warmed up” he chuckled lightly though it was in fact a little annoying. In fact he recalled that his first time sparring with Niku, their other squadmate she had done the same thing. Though as lackluster as his fellow Konoha shinobi seemed to be during sparring sessions they always seemed to grow strong over time and fight hard when it really mattered. The woman had recently fought side by side with him against the Mizukage after all, though as it turned out it was only an elemental clone of his.

She had inspired him to hone his own projectile skills and he had been trying his best to practice himself until now. While he waited for Masaru to heal he dug into his holster and withdrew a shuriken, tossing it up into the air so that it curved at its apex and took a steep drop down, aiming to land behind the burning wall of wood. It cleared the wall but went wide to the left of where he was trying to aim. Another try, and it went too far back past the wall. If someone was taking cover behind it he wouldn’t have hit them. “Yeah, nice to meet you too” he said casually, glancing briefly toward her. By his fourth shuriken, he finally landed it exactly where he wanted to, at least it seemed that way from what he could tell before it dipped out of view behind the wall. It was quite interesting seeing the burning wood created in a single jutsu. He had considered trying to do something like that with his Doton walls but had never got around to experimenting with combining both elements. It certainly seemed easier just to set his structures ablaze after they were created.

The teenager ran his uninjured hand through his reddish-brown hair as Masaru offered Haruka to train with in his place. “Yeah, sure. Just don’t go knocking yourself out okay?” he requested, turning to observe her more thoroughly and take a more ready stance. His right hand hovered over his kunai holster. He still had 9 kunai and 6 shuriken left not including ones fixed with explosives though he didn’t anticipate he would resort to those in a spar with this girl. “Are you really strong or something?” he wondered as she asked about holding back. He knew Nikuya was remarkably strong and fast despite having a similar small frame in her younger days. It was entirely possible Haruka was a similar sort of taijutsu prodigy. “Just try to knock me out, maybe some shallow cuts” he suggested, dipping his hand into his pouch as he prepared to grab either a shuriken or kunai depending on what she did. He was giving her the courtesy of attacking when she was ready, and despite the Katana he carried at the left side of his hip he showed no indication of intending on using it in a spar.

She would smile when she heard his name and say “nice to meet you Masaru,” she would then wait for some sort of response even if it was wordless. Then when she heard Yozei’s retort she would giggle, later on as time moved foward eventually Yozei agreed to spar with her so she said “thanks I appreciate the opportunity.” Haruka then chucked at his comment and would reply “i will do my best not to knock myself out while sparing with you,” she would then courtsie and ask her second question then get a response to which she would reply “well I don’t know how strong I am but I doubt I’m any better then other genin.”

When he was ready to start she would activate a series of multiple jutsu before she began doing what appeared to be dancing. Question was would Yozei be able to see through it? So far very few people have been able to seeing how it requires a keen eye or maybe previous knowledge of the technique. After a few seconds of dancing to observe his form, as well as to look for any weak spots in his defense she would try a new taijutsu she had been trying to perfect. Suddenly without warning as she was dancing a kick came out of no where it was supposed to be aimed at the knees but flew a bit two high and was aimed at the gut instead.

Even as the kick was happening it didn’t break the performance in fact it could even be argued the kick was a part of the performance. Regardless of wether the kick hit or not she would continue to dance her performance looking for her next opportunity to strike. She was a little annoyed at herself for being so off the mark but it was a new technique so it was to be expected she told herself.

Masaru briefly wondered who the girl was. This was after all the Senju clan's training grounds separate from the ones open to the general population so that the Senju could practice their clan jutsu without being disturbed. Yozei being the Hokage's son wasn't likely to be barred from access as it wasn't exactly a restricted area. But a normal genin from outside the clan wasn't likely to find their way here. Add to the fact she didn't really look like a Senju with her bright blue eyes it was definitely intriguing.

He rubbed his jaw and open and closed it a few times. It wasn't quite there just yet but it was definitely feeling better. He'd sit down off to the side and begin trying to convert his mokuton techniques into mosuton as he had titled it. Blaze release the fires of destruction fueled by the vitality of wood. He began performing a series of seals tapping into the katon nature of Iburo once again. He was keeping it simple, small weapon creation. He glance over at the first block of mosuton he'd created and noticed that while the flames were growing stronger, it seemed to be an empty strength as the wood that fueled it seemed to be devoured by the increasingly intense flames. He guessed the jutsu would likely burn itself out soon simply unable to feed the flames voracious appetite.

As the seals completed 10 senbon would form in his hands made of mosuton. Unfortunately, he was used to using regular wooden ones and the burning senbon slightly burned his hand and he dropped them. He scratched his head awkwardly, he'd clearly become more reckless since receiving the regenerative ability from the spirit. He began the seals with a slight modification and would throw his palms forward. A spray of mosuton needles would shoot out of his palms towards one of the walls he'd made. The needles sprayed over the wall making it look like a porcupine. It was amazing he thought how a small change could have vastly different results.

Masaru heard a strange cracking sound coming from the first wall he'd made. He paused for a moment as he watched the first wall he built suddenly collapse before his eyes in a plume of ash and burned out cinders. It was clear the cost for this jutsu's growth was its short life span. An interesting result to say the least. Could have some potential synergy with a futon user to create a smoke screen. However he'd definitely have to plan out his jutsu carefully now that he knew they'd collapse in a short amount of time. It was strange as he was used to using doton and mokuton, both elements with a bit of permanence to them, the short lived Mosuton would definitely take some getting used to.

He glanced at the duo as they fought the girl's style was interesting to say the least. It was certainly more appealing to watch than his techniques that much was certain. He wondered how he would break it... Probably brute force. He'd exchange wound for wound and as his body healed her's would likely collapes.

Yozei nodded in understanding as she revealed her rank and skill level, he would have to just play around a little bit then. While she formed hand seals, he tossed a kunai at the ground between them. It dug into the ground and perhaps would act as a slight deterrent or maybe she would think nothing of it. Withdrawing two shuriken he held them in the same hand, throwing the first one straight at her with 10 Speed and Strength. He wasn’t sure how to read her dance movements exactly, but he could still aim for her center mass and try to draw her attention. The second shuriken he threw after the first, in a backhand motion, giving it a little more speed and strength (12) as it was aimed at the kunai imbedded in the ground, deflecting off and ricocheting toward her from a low angle. Assuming she managed to dodge or block both projectiles and continued to close the gap he would at least have gained a bit more insight into how she moved when avoiding attacks rather than just the passive movements she was making initially. Still, as she neared, he found himself curious how she would attack, drawing another kunai he held it defensively in a southpaw stance.

Her kick came from a strange angle and he had to admire her acrobatics though he still had a good feel for her striking range and as the kick spun toward him he put his weight on his back foot and raised the front. It had seemed like she was moving low and trying to sweep his leg or take out his knee maybe but at the last second her angle changed toward his stomach, causing her kick to collide with his raised shin. The tingling sensation of her ration armor if it was still present would tickle and slightly numb his shin. Pushing off his left, grounded foot he leapt backward a few feet and flexed his right foot after landing, moving it slightly to engage his calf muscles to see if any mobility had been lost. It seemed okay, but clearly guarding against her in close range could be a little problematic. With his speed he could keep his distance from her fairly easily if he wanted to and it seemed that was a better option. What little close quarters skill he had was best when striking with a kunai or defending against other kunai or similar weapons, he wasn’t sure he could adequately engage her without hurting her or being caught by surprise.

Turning on a 45 degree angle the teenager dashed away at a speed of 15, getting about 10 meters away before circling around the girl as he drew a pair of kunai, holding one in each hand. While he was doing this he watched Masaru with a gentle smile, shaking his head as he burned himself yet again. Though when he fired burning projectiles from his palms Yozei lit up with excitement. “Oh! Now that’s a good jutsu!” he exclaimed. He would have to make his own version of something like that. No doubt Haruka would be trying to close the distance again to which Yozei would strafe backward, hopping from foot to foot on 45 degree angle movements, keeping his movements swift and simple. “Yo! Masaru, what are you doing attacking walls when you’ve got a perfectly good target right here?” he challenged beating his chest with the pair of kunai as he looked over to his friend before suddenly dropping to a knee and tossing one at the girl center mass again at about 10 strength and Speed or perhaps a little less if it seemed she struggled with it the first time. He hoped the sudden stopping and shift in height would catch her off guard, especially when it seemed he wasn’t paying attention at the time. Rolling over his right shoulder pre-emptively in case she countered with an attack he would toss his other kunai as he was coming out of the role.

It wasn’t easy keeping on target with projectiles or even having the presence of mind to consider one’s throwing mechanics and body positioning while in dynamic movement. And his throw wasn’t exactly perfect by any means, especially the second one as he came out of the roll. It went a little wide but if she had moved to her right at all it might have actually been more dangerous to her. He still was having a hard time learning all of her attack patterns. He had never seen any kind of dance fighting style before though it did seem her stances tended to be quite low and focus on kicks so he kept his second throw aimed at a lower height, about in line with her thighs if she was standing upright and more center body or head if she was in one of her lower range of movements. In time it would get easier for Yozei to anticipate and cut down her paths of movement. Though if Masaru got involved as requested he might have to start getting a little bit serious.

Haruka would look on curiously wondering if he just missed the throw, on purpose on accident but ignored it regardless and kept dancing foward. the next one was a shuriken which wasn’t two difficult to dodge and as it headed for her center mass she as the last moment did a spinning movement while moving her center mass to the right avoiding the shuriken but the next one was a lot harder to dodge and she would barely bee able to avoid it. Causing her to leap high into the air like a ballerina before landing perfectly and then begin her attack.

Afterwards she noticed that he started to keep his distance and when she tried to chase after he was too fast. So she was about to change to change tactics but saw him get distracted and figured she would try a new jutsu if it didn’t work then at least hopefully he would be to distracted to notice so that she could try again later. She did the appropriate hand seals then tried at least and got ready to do the jutsu but the most that came out were sparks. She pouted in annoyance for a second then quickly put her hands away before he could notice even if it was unlikely he would know the jutsu itself unless he saw her perform it she didn’t want to risk him knowing she did a jutsu period just in case.

She then went back to focusing on chasing after him when out of no where he throws a kunai thankfully she was still able to see him throw it so could still read the angle and would do a spinning motion as she danced that also slapped the kunai out of the way. After that she continued to advance, waiting for her next chance to possibly catch him off guard and try her new jutsu idea again.

Masaru would look at the blazing wall that was still standing contemplating. The new element was marvelous, however its short life span caused it to burn through chakra like crazy. As such while It could be used as a surprise or trump card it was best that he stick with more permanent jutsu. On top of that the easiest way to develope new mosuton jutsu would be to convert mokuton jutsu into mosuton. As such it was time for him to return to his roots and start from the clan's basics.

"Im gonna up the ante as you guys fight. I'm still healing my jaw so rather than join in directly, I'm going to circle around and throw various weapoms at you guys as you spar. If you grab them or pick them up feel free to use them."

With that said Masaru would begin forming hamd seals for one of his clan's most basic jutsu. Wooden weapon creation. Hed tried earlier to make it his own as a mosuton technique but ended up burning his hands instead. Clearly using doton or mokuton would be the best option for items he planned to directly handle himself. Upon completion of his seals 10 Kunai would form in his hands, 5 in each, with a strength of 10. Making sure to be impartial he'd split them up 5 to each combatant.

"Remember to be on guard against outside threats when fighting. Don't get so caught up in a fight that you miss the enemies around you. While I won't be targeting vitals I will aim to hit you."

At this point he would start to circle the cat girl and Yozei. As Yozei had called out volunteering to be a target Masaru wouldn't fail to let his friend's good intentions. As he threw a kunai Masaru would let out one of his own aimed at his thigh ttaveling at 10 speed. While he knew Yozei was going easy on her, a few injuries to inhibit his movements might help. Conversely, with a smirk he'd send a Kunai towards the cat girl aimed at her stomach traveling at 10 speed. He'd aimed for the opening of when she successfully dealt with Yozei's Kunai and would resume her charge to try and catch her off guard. Following this he'd run resuming his circle traveling at a speed much faster than Haruka. He'd eye them for openings as he ran.

Yozei watched the girl’s movements carefully, learning how she responded to an attack was just as useful as studying her attacking motions. She seemed agile and in tune with her body, certainly able to adapt quickly and balance evasion and counter-attacking. When it came to hand-to-hand techniques, she had the advantage when it came to actual skill though Yozei had more experience overall and more developed reflexes and physical ability. And there was no question that he was superior when it came to mid and long-range combat, where it seemed the girl was quite lacking. Given the fact that she was a Genin, however, this wasn’t surprising though she would need to be able to find some kind of an answer for faster opponents that are able to keep their distance from her.

He noticed her attempt to form some kind of hand seals, though he wasn’t taking her very seriously and shifted his attention more on Masaru. Yozei sighed as he claimed he still wasn’t ready to participate beyond throwing a few weapons at them. There was really no way this would be anything more than a warmup unless they both committed fully to bringing him down. Even without using ninjutsu he was already barely having to put in any effort. Yozei wasn’t a particularly arrogant person but he also didn’t like wasting his time and had been spoiled to expect a high standard of training, sparring against Jounin and Bannin on a regular basis. “Can’t just nurse that jaw forever. If you can talk, you can fight. Hell, even if you can’t talk if the will of fire burns inside you, you’d never just sit back in a real fight!” he called out. His hands were in his pockets, and a hint of annoyance entered his tone. He had come here to be pushed to develop his taijutsu, giving himself a huge handicap by vowing to not rely on his prodigious mastery of ninjutsu.

Even coming out of a roll the kunai Masaru had thrown was easy to track. He was pretty good at keeping aware of multiple moving targets in combat and expecting traps and layered attacks so a simple kunai throw, moving at a relatively slow speed from over 10 meters away was quite easy for him to evade. Hands still in his pockets, he leaped backward. There was no way he would ever directly touch a weapon created by an opponent’s chakra, he knew the kind of potential for further use they could have. It was a common tactic he utilized with his own Doton creations or even normal projectiles enhanced by his Katon chakra. Therefore, he was sure to take the wooden projectile seriously enough to leap back at least 5 meters out of its way just in case it exploded. Normally he would protect himself with Doton armor if he was fighting for real so it was a bit of a challenge to consider combat and the new dangers that presented themselves when he couldn’t rely on his ninjutsu to protect him.

This jutsu is especially effective when the user saw the actual moment the weapon was launched, as seeing the movement of the weapon wielder provides crucial information. If they don't see the action of the weapon being launched, they still have minor prediction over the weapons trajectory, but are incapable of accounting for high level taijutsu that may be applied to the throw/strike.

His biggest advantage now was his speed, though he was certain that if Masaru got really serious and closed the distance then he would have to really improve his actual skill in close quarters, perhaps even draw his sword. Fighting with projectiles alone was such a strange concept to him and it really removed a lot of his strategies to not supplement them with ninjutsu or kenjutsu. Nonetheless, he had to limit himself if he wanted to grow, if he fought how he normally did this match would already be over and he wouldn’t have gained anything new from it.

If Masaru wasn’t going to take this match seriously and really put the pressure on him then Yozei would have to bring the fight to his friend and force him to act. “Like hell I’m just going to let you stand back and throw things!” he yelled out, planting his feet for a moment as he withdrew his hands, his left holding the sheath of his sword while the right grabbed a shuriken, hurling it at his friend in an arching throw that went wide and would circle back around him with a strength and speed of 15. It would be aimed to seem like it was coming in high but angle down instead and strike at his hip coming in from behind and backing a backward strafe dangerous.

Meanwhile, Yozei would approach, dashing side to side keeping low and light on his feet, moving at 15 speed at first but quickly building up to his full speed if the distance between them would allow it. Finally, he was showing his actual physical ability, moving like this he would be able to stop instantly at any moment, shifting and dashing to both evade and advance at the same time. It was the best way for him to close the distance and keep up pressure without making himself vulnerable to projectiles. His right hand hovered near his kunai pouch as he moved, ready to draw more weaponry and attack as needed. Truthfully, he was still going easy, as normally he would set up at least a three-layered offense but he wanted to feel he had to utilize his skills and thus far he was rather disappointed in the Senju who had consistently injured himself and hadn’t contributed much beyond slightly burning Yozei’s hand, the pain of which was all but forgotten as he had gotten used to it and had more pressing matters concerning him in the heat of combat.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Speed.
An abnormally aggressive technique in Iaido, this technique serves as a preemptive counter, attacking the opponent in the split moment between drawing back to prepare an attack and launching said attack. Violently torquing the muscles in their legs, the practitioner more quickly accelerates to their maximum speed (or instantly accelerating to their max speed if their Strength is equal or higher than their Speed) than with normal movement. With this movement, the practitioner bolts toward the opponent and launches an attack, cutting the opponent as they pass to their side. This technique can be used while moving to immediately change direction instead before launching the attack. Properly reading this attack requires the opponent to have a Perception technique of equal or higher rank than this technique.

Haruka looked on slightly annoyed and offended that when Yozei saw her doing hand signs he stopped paying attention she now wanted to get this right so she could see the look on his face when he gets hit by a fireball out of no where. She then giggles mischievously thinking about how he’s going to feel. Haruka kept up the chase acting normal like usual when the guy who dislocated his jaw with his own flaming log jutsu started throwing stuff and her.

This caused her to huff in annoyance, he hadn’t shown any significant skills so far so where did he get off acting so high and mighty like he was above training with her she just hoped he got nothing useful out of this training for just playing around. When the projectiles came towards her she just kept track of there trajectory then slapped them out of the air each time. Sadly she was to inexperienced to know that she shouldn’t be touching them and she didn’t have the luxury to be focusing on how Yozei was moving while being attacked like this.

All she saw was him never get hit but didn’t see what exactly he was doing, then she saw as Yozei got annoyed at this also and decided to go after him directly causing her to smirk. It served him right for acting like he was hot stuff maybe now hopefully she will get to see what he’s capable and if he’s got the skills to back up his attitude. This was also good for her since she could pay him back for the kunai, that is if she could get it to work, then it would be two birds with one stone. She then waited till Yozei back was turned on her and tried to move behind him into what she thought was his blind spot. After that she tried to focus on her jutsu and try to improve it from last time doing the hand seals she needed and tried to use the jutsu hoping it would work this time. Sadly it didn’t work meaning it was just another failure which was pretty disappointing considering she had the perfect opportunity, she just hoped she would get another just as good opportunity as Yozei not paying attention to her while close enough for the other guy to get hit. But sadly there was no guarantee which sucked a lot.

Soft Paws is a bare-handed deflection technique and is used against bladed weapons. At this level, the practitioner is able to read the angles of the attacks to place the flat of their hand against the flat of the blade and push it away without getting cut by the weapon. However, prolonged use of this technique will cause the practitioner to suffer bruises on their hands.

C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
By observing a weapon's movement through the air and having a deep understanding of weaponry in general, the practitioner is capable of predicting a weapon's trajectory. This technique is especially effective when the practitioner saw the actual moment the weapon was launched, as seeing the movement of the weapon wielder provides crucial information. If they didn't see the weapon being launched, they can still predict the trajectory to a smaller degree but are incapable of accounting for high-level taijutsu that may be applied to the weapon attack.

A small cloud of smoke would suddenly be released encompassing Masaru. Before he had a clue what was going on he felt his body being grabbed by an irresistible strength. When the cloud of smoke settled Masaru was gone and in his place was a wooden log with a note for Yozei. It simply said: "Continue your training. This one is being pulled for special assignment. Burn the note." There was no name on the note and no trace of where Masaru had gone.
