D - 300
C - 300
B - 300
A - 300

First Set:
Skitter Step StyleShow
Skitter Step:
Skitter Step
The Skitter Step is a style that relies heavily on the user's senses. The style itself is a mesh of quick, fast, and wild punches, kicks, and jumps. Due to the user altering their senses, every bit of movement is heard and, since they can start to respond to things instinctively, they can respond to things that normally wouldn't have been able to be heard/seen/done. In addition to the heightened senses, users are normally in a "paranoid" state, where they start to suspect things that aren't always there.

If overused, the style can lead to paranoia in individuals, along with constant fidgeting, making experts in the style quite well known for these activities.
  • Requires: [Acrobatics] and [Perception]
  • Requires *[Skitter Step • Senses Open] prerequisite to learn any other jutsu.
D-Ranked Taijutsu

*[Skitter Step • Stop]
E-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: Any form of Senses Open used.
The practitioner makes a fist with their right hand and places it against their left before placing both hands against their chest. This calms the practitioner's senses and returns them to a centered state.

D-Ranked Taijutsu

*[Skitter Step • Back Jab]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
After using any version of the "Senses Open" technique, when the practitioner hears motion behind them, they'll instinctively kick behind them to strike at the source of the sound.

*[Skitter Step • Inside Dodge]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The counter-balanced Discipline to Outside Dodge. Having mastered this Discipline, when the practitioner is actively using Skitter Step while in close-quarters combat, their body instinctively dodges to the inside of an attack which keeps them centered on their opponent's torso. These dodges are only successful if their Speed is greater than the Speed of the attack

*[Skitter Step • Outside Dodge]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The counter-balanced Discipline to Inside Dodge. Having mastered this Discipline, when the practitioner is actively using Skitter Step while in close-quarters combat, their body instinctively dodges to the outside of an attack which forces them to be constantly moving around their opponent. These dodges are only successful if their Speed is greater than the Speed of the attack.

*[Skitter Step • Reject]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The counter-balanced discipline to Accept. When faced with an extended limb, may it be an arm or leg, the practitioner will always bat at the extended limb with full force, typically aiming for the joint of the limb in order to cause it to collapse.

*[Skitter Step • Accept]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The counter-balanced discipline to Reject. When faced with an extended limb, may it be an arm or leg, a master of this discipline will always reach to capture the extended limb with one hand, typically aiming for the most distal portion of the limb. This gives them an opportunity to control their opponent.

C-Ranked Taijutsu

*[Skitter Step • Senses Open]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
The main jutsu of the Skitter Step, the practitioner takes a moment to focus their bodies, then releases it. While in this stance, the practitioner's sensory input is increased, allowing them to receive more information quickly. This Stance grants a +2 in Strength and a +4 in Speed but a -3 in Willpower and -3 in Control. This Stance will remain in effect until deactivated by [Stop]. Practitioners of this technique will find themselves fidgeting and constantly moving, which can make it difficult for the practitioner to use this style in a stealthy manner.

*[Skitter Step • Instinctive Draw]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
With this Discipline, any time the practitioner perceives an incoming projectile attack, they will instinctively draw a weapon of their own and deflect the projectile away so long as their Speed is equal to or greater than the Speed of the projectile.

*[Skitter Step • Snap Kick]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The practitioner brings their leg up and outward, kicking to the front or to either side. If any version of the Senses Open technique is active, the practitioner is able to instead kick in almost any direction by instinct, even allowing them to turn on their heel and kick behind them.

*[Skitter Step • Pounce]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
The paranoia-inducing nature of Skitter step slightly enhances the practitioner's sense of what's around them. At the smallest sign of an attack, the practitioner will jump out of the way in the opposite direction of the attack, letting them dodge projectiles or jutsu.

*[Skitter Step • Roll]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
Masters of this discipline recognize the importance of evasion and have trained their bodies to roll naturally. When faced with an attack on the upper body that cannot be deflected or blocked, the practitioner naturally drops t

B-Ranked Taijutsu

*[Skitter Step • Total Senses Open]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
An advanced version of "Senses Open." The practitioner floods their senses with chakra and significantly increases the sensitivity of those senses. This allows them to see and hear everything, even the most distant of objects or quietest of sounds, without damage or repercussion due to overstimulation. Remaining in this state for a period greater than 5 posts, however, is dangerous, as this state can induce involuntary hallucinations. While in this Stance, the practitioner will appear to have gone insane. This Stance grants a +4 in Strength, +5 in Speed but a -4 in Willpower and -5 in Control. This Stance will remain in effect until deactivated by [Stop].

*[Skitter Step • Aerial Dance]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used.
Masters of this Discipline have taught their body to function, always, regardless of position. This means that even while in the air the user is able to functionally react with any disciplines they've trained, so long as they don't require footing.

*[Skitter Step • Counter Strike]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used, Inside Dodge or Outside Dodge
An advancement of their previous disciplines, Counter Strike focuses on combing a dodge with instantly attacking. whenever Inside dodge or Outside Dodge are activated, the user will instinctively strike as they dodge, throwing a punch into the openings created by the dodge.

A-Ranked Taijutsu

*[Skitter Step • Advance]
A-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used, both Inside Dodge and Outside Dodge Disciplines
The practitioner has trained to track and follow their opponent's movements, always maintaining striking distance with the opponent. Upon entering striking range of the opponent, the practitioner's body will naturally and passively maintain this spacing. Should the opponent take a step back, the practitioner will take a step forward. So long as the practitioner is physically capable of matching the opponent's Speed, they will always stay within striking distance of the opponent, allowing rapid and immediate responses to the opponent's actions.

*[Skitter Step • Tribute]
A-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: A form of Senses Open used, *[Skitter Step • Accept]
An improvement on the [Accept] Discipline for those who prefer close range encounters. Rather than capture the extended limb with a single hand, the practitioner passively collapses their arms around an opponent's extended limb, bringing it toward their body and instinctively holding onto the extended limb. If the practitioner has more Strength than the opponent, when the opponent goes to pull back the limb, it will be forcefully hyperextended and the joint will snap

S-Ranked Taijutsu

*[Skitter Step • Perfect Senses Open]
S-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
This Stance forgoes conscious thought for completely instinctive action. The practitioner stands with their arms at their side, their hips slightly tilted with one foot slightly more forward than the other. They'll inhale and exhale deeply before closing their eyes, initiating the Stance. While in this Stance, the practitioner's eyelids will flutter rapidly, and their body will occasionally twitch. Unless they have Disciplines for attacking, the practitioner will only move when attacked, responding based on the Disciplines they have learned. The practitioner is granted +9 Speed and +6 Strength but a -7 in Willpower and -8 in Control. This Stance lasts for 10 posts and cannot be turned off, often making the practitioner lash out even after combat ends. Because they attack based purely on sensory information and are not fully conscious, practitioners in this Stance are often immune to genjutsu unless the genjutsu affects all 5 senses. Those in this Stance do not talk, nor do they process any sounds they hear beyond the location they are coming from. Ninjutsu or genjutsu cannot be used while in this Stance.

Tenzin had a slew of combat to learn. He was more than determined to learn and better himself. He had a few different lines of taijutsu techniques he wanted to learn. During his studies, he found a combat technique that would aid his battle style. The Skitter Step. This was something he could use to evade better fighters than himself, all while gaining distance and potentially fighting back a little bit.

With eagerness and optimism, the shinobi stood outside of his house. He wanted to meditate, so the shinobi decided he would do so after he practiced the maneuver that was integral to this this type of fighting. Tenzin took his right hand and closed it into a fist. With a slow movement, he placed it against his left hand. Tenzin took both hands that were connected and placed them on his chest. With his hands against his chest, the shinobi focused on the area around him. He could feel the winds flowing throughout his hair and against his clothes. It took only a few deep breathes for the shinobi to feel the peace between his ears. The mind was an incredible weapon and all the Anbu Agent was focused on was relaxing and keeping his brain relaxed. With the focusing and calming of his mind, Tenzin released his hands and left them to dangle down to his side. The concept was simple enough and he was more than ready to push forward with the combat that was involved with the next slew of techniques.

The shinobi crossed his legs and sat down in the back of his house during the bright day. With nothing but time on his day off, Tenzin was determined to learn everything he needed to. Time to fully move on and continue practicing from his previous studying.

The Anbu agent took a few steps back to stretch properly before jumping into the next technique he had studied. The man put his right arm to hold his left arm perfectly straight. With a twist of his back and tightening his grip he simultaneously cracked his back and properly stretched out his arm. He immediately swapped positions with his arms and twisted his body the opposite way. With the same effect, Tenzin loosened his arms and let them dangle down to his side.

Tenzin lifted up his head and looked at the clear sky. With a few moments passing, he looked forward and shifted his feet to take a few steps. With those couple of steps he ended up being right in front of the wooden training dummy he had set up. The shinobi started hitting different spots on the wooden training dummy covered in padding as if he was in the heat of combat. In addition to the combat, Tenzin focused down on the spot where the training dummy's calf would be. More specifically the fibula. With a swift movement, Tenzin swept his right foot towards the left. The foot shifted inwards turning the sweep into a kick. The kick would hit the training dummy where the fibula would be located. With a connection, Tenzin would utilize his left foot to kick himself backwards. With the successful kick to the training dummy, Tenzin would have given his opponent damage to his leg.

With the few feet of separation, Tenzin felt as though he was just getting warmed up. He was tapping on his feet in an interval way to indicate to himself that he was getting warmed up. Back at it! The Anbu agent looked at the training dummy with extreme determination. The shinobi was ready to get started on the next combat technique to further his taijutsu training.

Tenzin decided that it was time to try a technique that would cause his opponents not to be able to weave and signs. It was a simple one, but something he could use when getting a target that needed to be fully apprehended. The thought of capturing an enemy and immobilizing them got the young shinobi rather excited. he was several feet from the training dummy, so he took several steps forward in order to be right in front of the training dummy. When he made the training dummy out of wood, he put together a hand made out of bamboo that he could practice some techniques on.

The shinobi quickly ran towards the target as if he was charging to attack. He did a quick jab to the gut in order to potentially stun his "enemy". With that, the shinobi swiftly swung his body behind the training dummy and went for the pre-made hand. With haste, Tenzin grabbed the hand and moved it behind the back of the training dummy. He gripped the bamboo fingers that were built into the hand. With his right he held the faux hand, then he used his left to grab the fingers. Tenzin snapped his left hand down, which pulled the bamboo fingers backwards. This would cause all of the fingers to break. In a matter of moments, the shinobi looked at the broken "hand" and let go completely. He had realized that this was more of a technique for aprehension, less for what the use of this technique was originally meant for. Tenzin himself could use jutsu without weaving hand signs and only could assume that others could perform the same feat.

The Anbu Agent made his way back around the training dummy to be in front of it. Time to move on to the next one.

A little bit of sweat dripped down the shinobi's face. He wasn't used to working out these muscles as much. His trainings usually were consisting of utilizing chakra. Without wasting any time, Tenzin looked at the training dummy. He knew that this was the last of the lower ranked techniques. After this one, he would have to fresh up on a few higher level techniques.

The Anbu Agent moved forward so he was up close and personal with the hand made training dummy. The wooden figure "stood" before him as if it was ready to get rolling. Tenzin arched his back a little and started striking. He sent his right hand to the gut and swung his left hand to the face. The quick motions of the shinobi was an attempt to have them focus on what was in front of them.

With the few jabs sent out, Tenzin moved his hands slightly to his side, prepped to perform the next attack. The shinobi kicked his legs forward to propel himself towards the training dummy. He would swing his right hand backward to gain momentum. Within the same motion, Tenzin would push his right hand forward as hard as he could. The hand would make contact with the side of the training dummy's head, right were the hear would have been. The smash would have caused the target to have his ear ring if it was truly a human. With a successful connection, Tenzin would turn himself around to walk over to his bag left by the door. He had to read up on the next line of jutsu. Although Tenzin had already studied, he wanted to be 110% ready to jump into the next set. With the future bright, Tenzin was excited to continue his studies. There was much for the young man to learn.

Tenzin was meditating in his back yard in order to straighten out his mind in order to attempt a long line of training. He wanted to perform better in the Taijutsu and Kenjutsu departments, so he had brought some scrolls of combat home to get rolling. He ad spent the night previous studying the techniques. In particular, Tenzin wanted to emphasize his combat abilities with his knowledge of medicine.

The shinobi stood up and made his way to the training dummy he had built in his back yard. He gave the wooden dummy a full anatomy; in the sense that it had a body, legs, arms, and a head. It was completely wrapped with padding so that he didn't break his hands or legs wile attempting these taijutsu techniques.

Without further hesitation, Tenzin decided to push forward with practicing the technique. He started to wail on the training dummy. He would strike the body a few times and then use his right leg to make a movement to sweep the training dummy's legs. If it were a real person and not a training dummy, he would have ideally been successful. After a couple of strikes, Tenzin decided that it was time to attempt the taijutsu technique. The Anbu Agent struck the stomach a couple of times as if he was baiting the dummy to make a stance and move. Since it was not living, the young man had to use his imagination. Pretending like the training dummy would take a step forward to engage in a strike, Tenzin opened up his hand. He would angle his right hand and slam it down diagonally towards the training dummy's left leg.

Tenzin would use the momentum from his hips and shoulders to slam his open palm in to the thigh of the training dummy. If it was a real being it would cause a hairline fracture to the bone and result in a strain on the right leg. With a successful attempt, Tenzin wanted to move on to the next one.

Tenzin walked over to the scrolls. He leaned down slowly and lifted up the bag. As he opened it up, the shinobi grabbed the scroll he was learning from. He opened it up only to realize he had missed on of the base techniques. How could he have missed it? Thankfully, no one was around to see him misread the scrolls. When the Anbu Agent realized his mistake he left the scroll open as he placed both it and the bag gently on the ground. After he had lifted himself up, the shinobi turned himself towards the training dummy. Tenzin made a few steps towards the wooden crafted life sized training dummy.

When the shinobi walked a few more steps, he found himself in striking distance of the wooden training dummy. Tenzin decided that he should tackle this like he had with the past few beginner techniques. The elementalist started wailing on the training dummy. He delivered blows with his left and right hand without letting up. Tenzin would hit the wood and hit the padding. He could feel his hands getting a bit sore. However, he wasn't nearly done yet!

Tenzin thought after a few strikes, that he would be ready to try to perform the taijutsu technique. In a matter of seconds Tenzin clenched his fist tighter in his right hand. He then would send the fist directly to the middle of the training dummy's face. The fist would hit the middle of the face. If it was real, Tenzin would have struck down the nose of a real person. The strike would cause the user pain and cause issues with smelling. The pain of breaking a nose was nothing to compare mess with. With the successful strike, Tenzin smirked at the end of the basic techniques. Now he was ready to actually move on. Hopefully he wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

Tenzin was ready to practice one of the most important parts of this taijutsu technique. The Anbu Agent made his way to the wooden training dummy. The previous moves he practiced before were just a technique practice, since he didn't know the gate opening technique. As a whole, Tenzin gazed upon the wooden training dummy and started to work on himself.

He took his time to practice focusing on his body. His mind was focused and felt his heart pumping, his lungs expanding as he inhaled, and could feel the blood within him traveling throughout his body. Tenzin could feel his mind gathering information more rapidly than he was used to. It was as if his sensory input was being increased.

As the [Senses Open] technique was activated he could feel his fingers slightly fidgeting. He also had the urge to move, with not full control Tenzin began to move on the tips of his toes. It was a matter of centimeters he was moving, but it was movement nonetheless. With his fingers slightly fidgeting, Tenzin decided to give the training dummy a couple of blows.

With a swift movement, Tenzin struck the wooden training dummy in the head with his right hand. Then instinctually used his right hand connecting to leverage his left foot towards the training dummy. The left foot struck the side of the body. With connection of the padding, Tenzin pushed off from the training dummy and sent himself backwards several feet. By landing on both feet with his hands to his side, the shinobi slid backwards a little bit as well. With the distance still there, Tenzin felt as though he should continue this momentum and attempt the next Taijutsu technique. He felt himself unable to fully stand still. The fidgetting continued, but it wasn't bad for now. The young man could see how using this in long spurts could cause some lasting effects.
