Phantom Bukijutsu

Post by Taiga » Sat Mar 26, 2022 9:02 am

[b][Deigenma Taijutsu - Bukijutsu][/b]
C-Rank Maneuver
While merged with a material, things Taiga holds are also merged. This maneuver uses speed and technique to allow Taiga to throw something such that it has more drag when leaving his hand than usual. The end result is the thing he throws stays "merged" even after leaving his hand, if but for a fleeting moment. The thing thrown will stay merged for up to a maximum of [Speed / 5] meter. After this distance, the object will return to its original composition but continue its trajectory as expected.

Sweat rolled down Taiga's forehead and into his eye. He cursed at the salty, familiar, burning sensation. He'd been at it all morning but hadn't managed to perfect his technique yet. It was simple in theory. When he merged, things merged with him, and when he phased, they phased too. Commonly this was the kunai he held or a person he held, things like that. The thing was, when he let go, those items unmerged and unphased. It prevented him from really doing anything with them... well, anything cool anyways. He had recently seen a "flawless aim" master bounce knives off a wall and under things and do a bunch of cool stuff. He was confident he could do better. There was no need to bounce knives or curve them around things if he could instead get his phasing effect to last just a moments longer.

And so here he was, throwing knives at a wall the whole day; with a target behind the wall. It was in frustration that, like one would fling a playing card so it dragged along their wrist and hand, and with ferocious speed and power in anger that Taiga flung the kunai, but this time it merged through the wall, only for him to hear a "plunk" as it hit the board. It was there, that he repeated what he had done, and did it again and again until he could do it reliably. Enough drag and contact with him prolonged the effects of the deigenmas chakra. He'd then play with it, working at it until he found the maximum ranges he could do this- or rather the maximum time he could squeeze out on the traveling kunai. With a shit eating grin, he smiled.

Phantom bukijutsu were now a thing he could do.
Phantom Sensory Evolved
A-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Prerequisite: Phantom Sensory
Building upon the training Taiga has done to feel that which he is merged with, Taiga has honed and trained his sensory to an even greater level such that he is able to feel the pressure shifts and change that surround a surface, including the presence of chakra at up to [Endurance] meters around an object he is merged. For example, a bird flapping its wings would cause pressure downwards on the ground, or a fireball ripping through the ground would heat the air above the ground. These are all things he can sense.

Fighting the Kirigakure host Shinji in the Steam Tournament had been tough. Taiga had barely managed to squeeze out the win, and though it had netted him respect from the host of the Body Genma, Taiga couldn't help but feel like he had narrowly cheesed his way to victory. He had to be better. For one, he was limited in sensory to a degree. He'd for far too long stopped at too basic of a level, but he would need to work harder to get more intune with his connections to things he merged with. Every ounce of data mattered, and without really being able to feel the world around him he put himself at a disadvantage.

Dipping his toes into the earth at the Konoha training grounds, he opened his mind. He could feel the footsteps of people moving. The vibrations of the posts shaking as people kicked them. He could even feel warmth above the ground where someone was likely using katon jutsu. But something bothered him. He couldn't feel the birds flying in the sky. Pressure in the air change. He couldn't feel chakra perverse the ground or anything more advanced.

So he sat there one by one. Training it. He started with upping the level of vibrations he could feel and continued till even a wing flapping 50m up in the air- the wind it created and slight pressure changes, was something he could feel on the earth. And he continued until the doton technique used by someone or the raiton blanket they put on the ground would alert him- something mixing with the earth and changing it. It would take a while. He came back every day for a month, but he'd eventually hone his skills, getting a better sense for what happened on the ground he merged with.
Phantom Menace
A-Rank Maneuver
After having merged with material and phased completely into it, Taiga will cancel his merging with that material after pointing himself at a target, causing himself to be "ejected" from the material and repelling him out of it at rapid speed and striking along the way. In this form, his speed is added to the strength of his strike, forming an average between the two. It is extremely difficult for most opponents to know where he will pop out from, and adding to this, his movement has such speed that it is near impossible to see anything but a quick blur for anyone without appropriate [Perception]-based techniques.

Sweat rolled down Taiga's forehead once more. It wasn't going to get into his eyes this time though- no, he was a much more experience man by at least 6 hours. Now, the sun was setting. He was surrounded by walls and constructs he had risen from the ground to create close-quarters terrain. It was the kind of thing he enjoyed, after all. He was now trying to do something else that he had once seen a character in a manga called "My Konohagakure Hero". He was sure the character was based off of him- since well, he came first, but anyhow that character did this cool phasing thing, and every time he phased something, he released his phasing to cause him to rocket out. It built up momentum and stuff. Made him so fast he was like a blur and made it hard for anyone to counter him.

That was pretty cool and forgetting "don't try it at home", Taiga was petty sure he'd be able to replicate that effect and do something similar. So here he was, diving in and out of walls and buildings. It was working pretty good, least the Jounin he'd paid money to sit and watch said he was a blur. He'd do things a few more times than also try striking at the jounin to perfect the technique and his form before calling it a day. With that, he'd of learned a new heroic move called "Phantom menace" which was a beautiful way of describing the genma host that likely Takeo would greatly agree with. The kid was truly a dirty little menace. Or something like that.

Taiga grinned ear to ear.

He then just started bouncing in and out of constructs- it was kinda fun he had to admit, and he was bored.

[b][Gentle Dance][/b]
B-Rank Discipline
Prerequisite: [Acrobatics], [Close Quarters Combat], [Perception]
Inspired by the water-like dancing movements of the Hyuuga, Taiga has engrained staying pliant against force into his very essence. Through his knowledge of CQC, his perception, and acrobatic abilities he moves such that he is light on the balls of his feet or heels, always able to move and redirect force that his body is subjected to, such that he can ensure that he stays on his feet and is not toppled or tripped, or knocked back. Even if he is to lose his footing on the ground, Taiga can redirect himself to stick a stable landing.

Taiga brushed himself off and stood. He'd been knocked down twice now by his Hyuuga sparring partner. Joshi was truly a powerful Taijutsu user. He bit his lip. Just what was it that allowed Joshi to always stand. No matter what hit him or Taiga threw at him, the man moved like water, somehow avoiding his center gravity being taken away from him.

"be like water" Joshi said. Taiga assumed a stance, this time trying to mimic the Hyuuga. When the Hyuuga approached him his time, he let the hit not only strike him, but he let himself be pliant with it. Rather than attempting to resist the move, his body moved with it, and he spun on his foot taking the momentum and converting it into the spin, dumping it, before spinning round back and striking Joshi- who caught his arm.

"yes, you are learning" the elder Hyuuga said as Taiga looked back. "But you are no hyuuga- you will never be able to match my gentle fist" the man said as he struck Taiga's belly, sending him back and onto the ground. Words like that only further angered him and usually set him on a path to win. Taiga rolled his eyes, and stood. If he could pivot faster, move more fluidly, handle his pliancy quicker, he'd master this. It was inspired by the Hyuuga, but it was his own theory and his own spin. It was his 1000 fists of Konohagakure. When the next hit came, he pivoted and moved with it, planting his hand on the arm of the man and then flipping him not his back as he remained still, unmoved. The old man laughed from the ground.

"You have learned the lesson, young one." he said, before bowing. Taiga would practice this for a few more weeks.
[b][Chouharite][/b]
C-Ranked Nintaijutsu Maneuver
Mimicking the famed Chouharite of the Akimichi family, Taiga will channel chakra into his hand then swing it as an invisible mass of chakra 2 meters wide forms around his hand, like a very loose glove. The chakra is highly condensed with a weight comparable to that of an elephant or a boulder, heavy enough that the earth beneath Taiga will dent. As he swings, the "loose glove" will fly off delivering his slap. Beyond the immense weight having increased lethality, this technique has the ability to send those it hits hurdling through the air for [Strength] meters, or if from above, embed them into the ground itself.
308/300Show
Taiga was amazed while watching two young genin fight. One was a strong fist master, and from all he could tell, stronger than the other. The other, a portly young Akimichi was seemingly the loser. Not only was the first buy stronger but he was also faster than the Akimichi, who seemed to be just face tanking hits. As Taiga watched the part that came next left him totally, completely shocked. If doctors didn't hate this guy for his easy secret tip, definitely the shinobi world did. The akimichi used the Chouharite technique of his family- and at the moment he went for a big slap on his opponent. The previously stronger buy who had thrown his hands up to block couldn't deal with the weight, mass and power, and the hands not only sent him flying, but sent him into the ground where he hit too.

It was intriguing. To use more than just strength, but size and weight to beat a slight disadvantage and gain and edge. Taiga grinned. Clever. And he also realized he would add another style to 1000 fists of Konoha. It didn't take long for him to imitate this by using raw chakra. Buil;ding up enough raw chakra in one spot at once was heavy- and super condensed it made his hands like he was waving elephants. He practiced by smacking trees apart with the technique and finally on some clones, battering them, sending them flying, or hammering them into the ground. It was decently successful, and much like the Harite of the Akimichi, Taiga would now be able to do some sumo style action. To pay homage to the technique, he would keep the name chouharite though. After all, to learn something from another group, copy it, but not pay homage would be a pretty bad sin amongst martial artists.

A-Ranked Warp Genjutsu
Prerequisite: [Chakra Touch Initiation]
After the appropriate hand seals, Taiga throws a shinobi tool at a jutsu. On impact, the jutsu's caster will be caught in this powerful warp genjutsu. Immediately, they will begin to see crimson leaves falling around them as their body begins to go numb in every sense of the word; no physical sensation can be felt for the next five posts. Next, the leaves around them will begin to clump into crude, tentacle-like shapes that grab them by their hands and feet, quartering them and tilting their head back. The illusionary leaves will exert a force of [Willpower] strength, preventing them from moving for the next three posts. What truly makes this technique so potent though, is since the target will have no feeling, it is hard to judge the force of their restraints holding them, and worse, they are unable to truly understand how much damage is inflicted to them during this period.

Taiga's hands sealed furiously as he narrowly dodged the swinging of a sword from a kirigakure ninja. This was his home land and he would not lose it, even if he could not physically stave off such a ferocious fighter. His eyes narrowed to slits as he reached out and touched the water aura flying of the Kirigakure ninja. He had never done this technique before, but had done parts of it. He'd done illusions that pinned people. He'd done status that nulled pain. He was now going to gamble that he could put the two together. Fairly soon after his attack, the Kirigakure ninja stopped in his tracks, his sword above his hand as he slowly felt his arms being pulled apart. Taiga grinned- by now his pain was probably dulled too.

With the force exerted, and the individual seemingly too weak to kai the genjutsu, Taiga approached him. The crimson leaves he had hopped to illicit were probably in full force. Taiga's eyes looked to the side then to the man. He drew a kunai and drove it into the mans side. The man didn't scream. He didn't do anything to show he felt the pain, and he stood there.

Taiga gained a wicked grin. He would stab stab stab and use this technique at least 30 more times killing several kirigakure ninja as they fought to regain Konoha, and also, he would give himself a name as the crimson leaf. People would learn to fear the Crimson Leaf Dream- it would become fabled as a dream seen only before death.

Of course, iteration after iterastion he would toy with it and change it as he learned to be more effective, but regardless of whatever happened, it had been a pretty cool concept. This was the might of genjutsu.
