A Bank Heist

Post by King of Cats » Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:51 am

Standing at the bank Akari was fidgeting in her skirt. She was wearing a magenta top and a cream colored skirt, her thick legs were barely exposed. Akari rarely showed skin and he leg protectors kept her knees covered. She was waiting in line at the bank and was getting pretty impatient by now. She had been waiting in the same spot for thirty minutes, and was around the person ahead of her, trying to get a glimpse of what was going on. She couldn't see anything but she could barely make out what was being said at the register.

"Listen you've only got ten more minutes.." Akari could hear a sense of urgency in the mans voice. He was definitely pushing something on the bank teller and Akari was more curious than ever to know what it was. Akari stepped out of line and cut ahead, quickly walking past people who were complaining about her actions. She could be bold, and this was certainly brazen but she had a sneaking suspicion that something was going on. "What could be in ten minutes? Akari wondered to herself and rushed the line.

Once she made it to the fron Akari could hear the man again, "Nobody has to die." Akari put together hand seals right away. As a ninja she felt it was her duty to protect the village and anyone at the bank talking about people dying were infringing on her villages safety. Akari formed a wood clone but the man heard her wood forming and turned around. In one fell swoop he drew his blade and sliced down the growing wood clone. Akari knew she was in trouble. Fighting at close range wasn't her strong suit. Between her and the perpetrator was about three meters and he was deadly with his sword. Akari also had a bunch of running civilians to think about. She couldn't detone a Bakuhatsu Nut or use Fire Release. She was seriously limited and pulled out a kunai. Unfortunately for her the man reached over the counter with his free hand and grabbed the bank clerk by the hair. The woman was a petite blond girl, no older than twenty two. She screamed a terrible scream and Akari whinced. Partly from the shrill cry and partly because she knew her hands were officially tied now. With a hostage she had no choice and even worse in less than ten minutes something was going to happen.

"Don't move, nobody gets killed. I got two buddies coming on horseback to pick me and two hundred forty thousand ryo up. Nobody interfere with that. Now bitch! Get me the fucking money!" The man threw the girl over the counter and she hit the ground pretty hard. She was laying next to Akari now and screaming horribly. Akari helped her get up but it took a minute. The Senju was counting down how long she had. She wasn't certain of it but she knew she could place a tracking leaf on this guy if not subdue him. He wouldn't get away that's for sure, but Akari had to measure her movements carefully. He was definitely dangerous and he was willing to kill for the money. Akari wondered what kind of reinforcements he had. "Get him the money." She said to the banker and walked her over to the vault. The woman went in to get the coin. While the door was open Akari used the vantage point to perform a series of lightning quick hand seals. No one saw anything and she formed a tracking leaf in her hand. All she had to do was place it on the guy and she knew just what to do. Akari waited for the woman to come out lugging the bags of coins and she offered to help her. Akari grabbed two bags and started to heave them out of the safe, but not before placing the leaf in one of the bags. She helped the banker get it all ready for the thief at the entrance. All of the people in the bank were laying prone. They didn't dare mess with a crazed kenjutsu bank thief. Akari didn't either.

Akari soon heard the clip clopping of horses and knew that meant the thieves buddies were there to rescue him. She remained complacent and helped load the ryo up on the horses back. Between the money and the thief with a sword the horses could barely move but they made off with the money sure enough. Akari didn't waste no time. She had so long before the tracker would fail due to the distance and she needed to assemble a quick team to get the money back. She sped off in the direction of where the thieves went. She figured she would recruit people on the way andshe knew just who to get for the first member.

Heading to the home of Xiao Nara Akari was out of breath. She pounded on his door and the boy luckily answered. She was leaning on his door post and asked, "Would you do a mission for me? B Rank. 3 Thieves. Horseback, we gotta catch em." Akira was panting heavily but her friend Xiao understood her well. He just nodded and stepped out of the door in full ninja gear. He had just gotten home from working his day as a chunin. Akira was thankful to have him on her side and realized quickly that the thieves were on their way out of the village. She dashed off and rushed to head them off and Xiao followed her.

Akari was just a bit faster than Xiao and got to the thieves first. They were trotting along the path, still in the village and undetected by any officials except for Akari. She immediately weaved together hand seals and created a Wood Clone. The clone knew the plan and put together handseals for a Bakuhatsu Nut. With the nut in hand the clone jumped into battle. The swordsman had back up now and a fat guy on a horse threw a senbon at the clone hitting it right in the neck. They had sensed Akari already and knew where she was hiding but the clone had done it's job. It threw the nut before crumbling into ash and the bomb went off. Ryo went everywhere and the three thieves went flying off their horses. Akari leapt into action with her kunai and jumped on the swordsman. Xiao arrived just in time to subdue the senbon wielder but there was one left. He was a bald man and he rolled through the bushes and into a pile of dirt but he was fine. The blast hadn't detonated near him like the others. While Akari and Xiao were tying rope around their perps the third one leapt up and was weaving handseals. Xiao had just enough time to put together his own and shot a water barrier from his mouth in between the thief and Akari, blocking a fire ball shot at her.

Kicking the perp down Akari rolled on the ground and began weaving handseals together. When she leapt up she had four shuriken made of Sugar Release in her hand. She threw them at the thief and they all his their mark. He was gummed up, stuck together by the sticky shuriken and bleeding from shallow cuts. The thief rolled over onto the ground trying to free himself and Akari turned to Xiao. "I think we got em bud." Akari was proud of herself and her friend Xiao. They had done a good job wrangling the thieves and saved all the ryo for the bank. They were sure to get their name in the paper.

That night Akari was sitting home with her mother and father eating popcorn, talking about her eventful day. Her father and mother were both shinobi and were impressed by her quick thinking and fast handseals. They commended their daughter and left her in the living room alone. She was sitting there with the radio absorbing the goodness of her day like she did everynight. Popcorn, her favorite snack, and radio tunes after spending time with mom and dad was how Akari unwinded. For an hour she laid there relaxing before she got tired and put her bowl away. The popcorn was long since gone and she had just been laying on the floor with the bowl, gripping it as she recounted her impressive feats. Akari was a happy girl, the happiest when she accomplished her goals and saved villagers from danger. Akari was first and foremost a ninja and she believed she was gifted with abilities to change the world. She wondered how she would change the world next. Soon she had a meeting with the Hokage and her mind was racing with what to talk about with him when she met him. But just as fast as she got excited about her upcoming Day with the Hokage Akari faded to sleep. She always rested well and went to sleep easily.

Akari dreamt that night of a large bunny trapped inside of the families house. She was tasked with getting it outside in her dream, as her father was away on a mission and her mother was terribly afraid of bunnies. Akari was always the stand in man for the house and in this dream it was no different. Using Sugar Release she lured the bunny out with a tasty treat and it seemed safe and happy outside. Soon the bunny grew into a giant scaly monster and was attacking Akari. She couldn't tell what was going on in the dream, everything seemed hazy and out of touch but when the bunny slashed her she awoke from her nightmare in a gasp. She had a glass of water by her bedside and quickly began slugging it down. She wasn't superstitious but she did believe that dreams were symbolic of how you were feeling about something. She wondered what that something was, and why she was being attacked in her dream. Akari flipped her bedroom lightswitch back on and laid underneath her covers with both eyes open. The dream shook her to the core and she did not get any more rest that night.

When Akari arose from bed she was thoroughly tired but the anxiety of her dream kept her wide eyed. She brushed her teeth and combed her long blonde hair before leaving her bedroom. Akari was wearing a green nightgown and her toenails were painted the same shade of green. She looked absolutely adorable but she was shouldering a heavy burden. When she got downstairs to where her mother was making rbeakfast Akari immediately began spilling the details of her dream. Her mom was actually terrified by bunnies and just hearing the dreams details made her gasp. Akari's father was sitting at the dining room table listening to her tale. He was a quiet man in the morning, a bit grumpy. He didn't say anything and just read the newspaper. Akari was in it.

"So mom, what do you think?" Akari asked. She was practically panting from the sheer fear she felt rolling down her spine while remembering the bloody story. It wasn't exactly bloody but it was certainly ghastly. "I don't know dear.." Her mom said. She didn't believe there was anything to dreams and refused to entertain the diea. Ringo was her name and she was a staunch atheist. She was actually an ANBU Black OPs member and her ability to detatch from conversation was uncanny. Akari knew the feeling too well and looked over to her dad. "So dad... any advice?" Akari was on the edge of her seat.

Kazu was Akari's fathers name, he put his paper down and cleared his throat. He sounded a bit perturbed by his frightful daughters dissaray, his tone was of an annoyed one but of course it was hard to tell as he had merely coughed. Kazu said, "My dear. Make meaning of it, find peace in it and follow that." Kazu was a wise man. He spoke simply and what he said satisfied Akari enough to calm her down.

"Okay then dad.. whatever. I'm going back to bed then. I'm calm." Akari got straight up from her seat and headed back for her bedroom. She had serious beauty sleep to catch up on and it wasn't going to happen without her eyes closed.
