A Smoke Before Bed

Sitting on the roof of his house Shiroyasha was smoking a cigarette in the middle of the night. His parents didn't like him smoking and he was too young anyways but the corner store sold em to him and he had an addiction so there he was smoking away. He pulled the cigarette to his mouth and inhaled deeply on it. Smoke filled Shiroyasha's lungs and he exhaled out of his nose, clenching his jaw as he heard the sound of his mother coming into his room. She usually knocked but this time she didn't, Shiroyasha knew what that meant. He had judged the wind to be blowing away from their window but a stray gust must have caught his smoke. He was busted. "SHIROYASHA!" Mikoto called to her son. Shiro turned over from his laying position and flicked his cigerette into the wind. "Well, the jig is up." He said to himself and crawled back in the window where his mom was waiting for him.

Smelling like smoke, badly, Shiroyasha filled the room up with his stench and his mom covered her nose. "You stink Shiro. I told you to give it up. You're not an adult yet bud." Mikoto turned on her heels and headed for the door. "Now get to bed kid, it's late." Shiro hated when she called him kid. Shiroyasha scowled and pulled his white v neck off. He always slept shirtless and his mom was right, it was late and it was time for him to go to bed. Shiroyasha crawled in bed begrudgingly, smelling up his whole room with smoke. He could still taste the rich menthol taste of his Allport cigarette. It was worth getting yelled at by his mom. She was the light one, Shikayaha was Shiroyasha's father and he was much more strict.

Shiroyasha had always been the formative force to Shiro. He made sure his son was talking and walking and ever since he instructed his son on how to be. Sika was Shiro's mentor and father, his role model and hero. He aspired to be like his dad, though Shiro was much more laid back. Shika had taught Shiro Eiketsu, the art of Shadow Manipulation. He seen his son was talented as a youth when the boy awakened a rare Awai-Nara dojutsu.

When he was five Shiroyasha went to an official ability grading for the academy. Through fuuinjutsu and science they would put together a capacity chart for Shiroyasha, explaining what he was likely to be good at. During the Fuuinjutsu testing Shiroyasha went through a kekkei genkai reading. He simply touched the seal and an analysis of his kekkei genkai abilities would be laid out. The readings were as follows. "Skin Cells adapted to absorb and reflect light, eyes reactive to Light Release." It was expected that Shiroyasha would have the ability to mold Hiton, he was half Awai after all. That was the original reason Shiroyasha was put through the specific test. What wasn't expected was that he would have two rare mutations of his blood.

The first mutation would eventually be known as the Will of Light. It was a fairly simple ability of Shiroyasha's. His body could resonate with his Light Release techniques and reflect the light out of his flesh. As he grew older nad his chakra system became more developed Shiroyasha gained a constant golden glow from this ability. It was truly unique and special but this was only the surface of Shiroyasha's kekkei genkai.

The second mutation of Shiroyasha's Awai and Nara blood was a mythical dojutsu named the Shining Eye. When Shiroyasha first awakened it at the age of Twelve he was a genin. The eye was not that amazing at first. Shiroyasha could channel chakra into it for a short time and see in the dark. It seemed unimpressive to him but the Awai clan elders knew of the Raitogan and assured him he would see great glory with it's power. Shiroyasha was always a trusting person and he believed them despite not feeling any power in his eyes. It would take years before Shiroyasha had practiced enough with the Shining Eyes that he would see their shining glory.

When he was 14 Shiroyasha was training at night in the forest of Konoha. He was beating a tree with his bare fists as his golden eyes shined in the dark. The image of his golden glow paired with his heavenly eyes was truly spectacular. He dance and weaved around the tree striking it with one two punch combos. Shiroyasha was in the middle of a routine when it happened. He flipped back and began channeling chakra to his eyes like the elders had instructed him. The said little of the possibilities the Raitogan held but Shiroyasha was assured when he awakened it's true power he would know. In that moment he knew. Staring at the tree he focused his chakra and began to feel a sort of pressure be released in his eye. His optic nerve became present to his conscience suddenly and Shiroyasha saw the most spectacular sight. On the tree trunk golden light began growing around it lighting up the forest. It grew brighter and brighter quickly, burning the tree a little before fading away. Shiro was amazed and passed out. Shiroyasha hit the ground hard. He had never expended so much chakra at once and he had given it all he had.

The next day Shiroyasha went to the Awai clan house and told the elders of what had happened. They were incredibly happy to hear of Shiro's progress with his dojutsu. They congratulated him and insisted he hold a banquet with his family for the occasion. All of the Awai clan would be welcome, and it was a considerable responsibility for Shiroyasha to undertake on such short notice but he did it anyways. Shiroyasha took his duties with both the Awai and Nara clan very seriously. He wanted to make each clan proud of his ability, he wanted to be a powerful ninja. Shiroyasha was nervous but he went on with the banquet.

A large amount of people showed up to his feast. Shiroyasha was the most important guest for the first time in his life and lots of people pandered to him. He had always held a reputation in the clan as the bearer of the Will of Light. Shiroyasha wsa known for his glowing body but his eyes were always sidelined. They weren't known to have such power as the Will of Light. To some Shiroyasha was celebrated but others considered him to be a half breed freak. None of those negative people were there for the banquet however and Shiro thoroughly enjoyed himself.

The next day Shiroyasha had training with his father. His dad wanted to see his progress with extending the range of his shadow. Shiroyasha was pushing a twenty meter range and his father wanted to see what he could do with it. The two met at the Nara clan headquarters. Shiro had just got back from work for the village and his dad had already been training for a good two hours. Shikayasha was a jonin and most of his work was spent outside of the village so he had the free time to train with his son. They headed to the sparring room and began their combat training.

Shiroyasha chased his father around with his shadow, barely missing him a few times. Shiroyasha was talented but raw talent didn't make up for the nearly forty years of practice his dad had on him.

Laying in bed with the smell of cigarettes Shiroyasha faded off into sleep thinking about how he almost caught his dad that day. He wondered if he would ever surpass his father and achieve the rank of Hokage. Shiro wanted nothing more than to claim the title of Hokage and help rule Konohagakure. He believed he could bring peace to the shinobi world with the power of the Hokage. If he grew strong as all the other Kage they would have to listen to him. The world would have to change. Shiroyasha had yet to experience death but with his life on the line as a ninja he took the precious value of life very seriously. He knew if the world could hear him they would see it different and cherish the lives of people more. The poor would have a rgeater chance to make something of themselves. The sick could get healed. The deranged could be put away without corruption. Shiroyasha knew if he was Hokage the world would be a better place. With that assuredness in his heart he fell asleep.
