When Earth met Nature

Post by Taiga » Thu Nov 23, 2023 5:51 am

As Taiga dozed off into a deep sleep, his leg began to twitch. This repeated for a few minutes until, at his deepest state of REM, his body suddenly writhed before he stood up. Coughing, his eyes opened, but one at a time, then blinked, one-at-a-time as if out of sync. Slowly the movements began to work as the man opened and closed his hand repeatedly. Cleaning his throat one final time, he stood from his bed, and made his way to the edge of the room looking into the mirror. His veins were slightly bulged and a black tint was around his eyes, smoke escaped him with every breath.

”Wahhh- thought you’d never fall asleep…” he muttered into the mirror as he ran his hands through his hair. It was Sukaira’s turn to be conscience. An arrangement of sort, Taiga had agreed to let Sukairaa take the wheel and get out every now and then, and this time, he had his own mission separate to the Bannon of the Leaf and shadow to the Hokage.

”Ibuku-kun. Shizen.” the Genma muttered as he made his way to the closet, threw on a warm jacket, scarf, and made his way out the door. The Genma wasn’t an entirely sentimental animal but he had two new siblings; and he’d promised to take care of them both. Not because he was a good guy or anything like that, but because he wanted to make sure they were in his camp not someone else such as the Soul Genma or that cunt Vorashu. Yeah. That was it. He was just there to use them.

Before long he was standing outside of the park where he had last met Ibuku. Taking a seat at the bench he would wait there for the younger Jinchuuriki and Genma too arrive. They had a lot yet to do before Ibuku and Shizen would be able to fight as one.

Was this… what brotherhood felt like? No... No... that could not be it. Sukairaa was a genma. A god. A demon overlord in a world of ants and he was the foot that crushed them! He didn't have foolish and feeble feelings like that. No time to be soft. No time to worry about other people or family or any of that.

And yet, here he was, a mix of his own emotions after the news of his two new brothers.

When Earth met Nature

It was one of those nights once more. It was crisp, quiet, and the sounds of the forests had died down as things were going to either rest for the evening or had disappeared as the winter months were rolling in. Ibuku could feel it through his bones even as he wore warmer clothing. Without a hint of wind at all, he was able to hear everything on his walk back home from the park. It was kind of amazing to see how fast it all changed. It felt like weeks ago that the sun was bright and warm and weather kept a strong hint of summer and now, he could see hints of snow coating the ground, the earth hardening, the world coming to a slight stasis as the weather changes for his region.

Once more, a sight that he had seen before. Well, not exactly as when he first saw it. Instead of a drunken man that he had seen recently, Taiga was sitting there with almost a purpose. At least it looked like it was Taiga until he got closer. From what he had heard about Taiga was how much smoke came from his breath and this looked like far more than that. There was a pause as he stopped near the bench and looked at the older shinobi. "Sukairaa-sensei?" He asked for a moment as he looked around himself, giving a quick signal to the shinobi that followed him when he was wandering around the village. This had almost become a common motion for him as he often had to stop to converse to someone or was busy with a few different duties and he even made his best effort to learn more about each of his escorts but to no avail. The ANBU were fairly secretive after all.

Sukairaa would notice that the horns on Ibuku's heads almost appeared bare, small buds resting along their length as it appeared to signify the changing of the seasons towards the winter. Along with that, he could swear he saw flecks of snow drift down from those horns once in a while as Ibuku glanced around with a curious expression on his face. "It... is nice to meet you again if that is you. An... odd but familiar spot though. I almost thought Taiga had done it again... I am reminded that he sees me as a very terrible memory and hopefully I can change that view someday for him."

When Earth met Nature

The Deigenma rose from his seat as he felt the approach of his new little brother- both in the Nature Genma and Ibuku. In many ways, becoming a big brother had begun to thaw his icey heart more than Taiga had already- it was having a positive effect on his character. Clearing his throat and puppetting Taiga in an uncanny way he acknowledged the young genin and fledgling Jinchuuriki before him. He had small buds for horns, and from them small bits of snow seemed to fall. Least he hoped it was snow- could be dandruff but... benefit of the doubt yes?

It wouldn't take long for Ibuku to have figured out that it was Sukairaa- as he addressed Taiga in the third-person as if he wasn't there. Sukairaa nodded.

"He's more hard-headed than I am- but he's got a good heart. He does what he says he will. I'm sure eventually he can learn to deal with his trauma- it's not like you killed the dog brat." he said snarling his lips a little. Sukairaa was a bit more cold in his logic and more calculating. Perhaps it was having lived millennia- watching many come and go. In the human world alone he'd seen hundreds of hosts so he was desensitized to loss, in fact he hadn't remembered it's biting pain until the lose of the fusion genma.

"How goes your training, young Jinchuuriki? Are you learning to be as one with the genma? Is Shizen proving difficult or is he a big sweetie?"

The young Jinchuuriki pondered on the words that were spoken to him. 'Dog brat... Inuzuka? I don't know much about the previous host... Something to ask Taiga later.' As he was looking at Sukairaa the whole time, he was debating how to explain the way that he had thus far bonded with Shizen. "Training is going fine so far. There have been a few partners, the Hokage himself among them. That being said... The advice hasn't meshed well. It is generic and it can be useful but I realized that this is a journey I have to take in my own way." As he paused for a moment, he was looking around at the world itself. The way his breath lingered in the air and hung with weight as if his words could be caught. "So far though, I've managed to learn a few jutsu and I am close to getting the second... form? Form... figured out. It took a different path than I thought... Shizen isn't soft but he isn't hard. He simply doesn't like to talk as much. A lot of it is on me, I have to understand and interpret. Like what does it mean when you feel a warm breeze? What does it mean when you feel the cold air of the night in the middle of a warm day? It's sensations, feelings, instincts..." He was going on a little more philosophical than he realized as he took a moment to clear his throat and nods his head for a small moment.

"It's been... unique... The first form wasn't difficult but the second one feels... connected to me. It feels like I have to... let myself start to understand a part of me I don't know about yet. It feels like a hollow scream in a dark forest and I'm not sure how to tackle it yet... Other than start walking towards it." Instead of standing still and choosing his words with a little more care, he was pacing now as he wasn't sure how to explain all of this well but he simply shrugged after a time and took a moment to look around them.

Sukairaa uncharacteristically listened with a great deal of patience to the young jinchuuriki. He had mastered his first form and seemed to have learned about forms enough along the way, but he hadn't yet broken through to the second. He could sense struggle in the boys explanation as he failed to grasp for the right words- deliver the right thoughts, organize the correct phrases. Sukairaa, through Taiga, perked his lips, chuckling while he did so at the sensation. He'd never quite be fully use to the fact that he had... a mouth, in this human meatbag form.

"You don't have to know how to explain it. Or know how it works- in a way it's better to let it be nature than theory... funny word, nature." he said as he stood and began to pace around the boy.

"Just as much as there is a mental part to the bond and a certain point that must be reached for our power to willingly flow to you, there is also a certain amount of preparation you must do as a vessel." the Genma said as he looked at the scrawny boy before him.

"Your muscles- your tenketsu. It all has to be trained, you know? You need to be a vessel worthy of receiving the power equal to your ability to control it and your bond to-" he paused. "Too much theory, you'll figure it out the hard way but that'll be the best way." he said.

There wasn't all that much more to be said though, and quietly, the Genma watched Ibuku.

"I digress- anything you need help with?"

The fumbling for the right words was difficult to him, he found that the more he delved into what he was given, the harder it became to understand all the nuances of having another being occupying himself as wholly as the spirit did. Body, mind, and soul were intertwined in unique ways and strengthening this is what would make the bond and shared power grow ever stronger. It hard to explain it but he felt just having the spirit with him and having this odd, esoteric, and wordless conversations was forcing Ibuku's body to adapt on the fly, his tenketsu having been fortified considerably and he felt it had only been a month or so since he had gained access to Shizen's chakra and wisdom.

He brought his attention a little more towards Sukairaa and listened more intently at what was being said, realizing this may be a rare opportunity for him to learn something from Taiga that he needed to know more about and since Fanho had suggested it, he thought there was no better time than now to bring it up since it was being offered to him.

"Yes, I need training in things like Genjutsu. I'm minimally skilled in the art and I'd like to know a little more about it. I've heard that Taiga is skilled in the matter and I... assumed that you would be able to teach me via his body."

Sukairaa paused for a moment.

Genjutsu?

"Us Genma don't really do that shinobi arts stuff like Genjutsu- that was your guys doing... you'll need the other guy for that... though maybe?" Sukairaa said as the bridge of Taiga's nose scrunched and he made a groaning noise and clenched his fists as if he was trying to figure out how to will a Genjutsu into existence or doing natures call. After a few attempts he cleared his throat.

"I can probably do like- some D-Rank level nonsense or C-Rank? Would that do?" the beast offered as he let out a yawn. Deep bags filled Taiga's face- the host body was clearly exhausted from Sukairaa's nightly escapades at the expense of his sleep.

"I'm sure Taiga will talk to you soon. He was ordered too by that uh- ANBU fella. Forget his name. The creepy one. Guuuuess that's most of them..."

"Yes, I could use the help in that area... I guess I'm still learning things about what you all can do... Chakra is more of a human thing... Even though, I guessed you all were made of chakra... Maybe it's different?" He gave a little shrug of uncertainty as he really wasn't sure how to understand just how different they were from the spirits that these Genma are. Even though he had the feeling that Sukairaa had wanted to assist him with Shizen, there wasn't much needed there yet, since it was less of an issue at this moment. Although, he had a feeling that that wasn't going to be the case forever. Something about the way that Shizen has bonded with him was going to cause difficulty, at least... That was the feeling he got down in his gut. However, when he heard that Taiga was supposed to be speaking with him soon, at the behest of some creepy and strange member of the Anbu, he paused and tilted his head.

His eyes glanced towards the trees around, as if they were all around him, considering he likely wasn't inaccurate as a fresh host was a being to watch over. "You... aren't wrong. The masks are odd... It feels... like a disconnect. Like a way to... hide from what they have to do? If that makes sense... I don't know... I don't want to hide from my own choices and failures, so I guess the mask looks like that to me."

Ibuku realized, possibly a little too late, how Sukairaa might feel having been asked for something not in his specialty and paused for a second to clear his throat. "I... could show you the... change I gained access to... And you... Dont even fully know what I can do. I... Gained a few new jutsu when learned this form. I didn't mean to insult you, just... I guess I'm not sure how you can help... Aren't... All the hosts different from each other? I am sorry, I... Didn't think about how rude that sounded before I... Dismissed your help..." Ibuku's normally soft and somewhat sad voice has a bit of apologetic, still not the best with emotions himself.

Sukairaa let out a venomous chuckle- the the tone was trickled with a layer of poison honey, but his intentions were nothing more than earnest and kind. He had never been one with words or social interactions but he wasn't bad at his core... just like any living being- and a little more like humans than he would ever like to admit, he just has traumas and weights that prevented him from ever being whole. As his chuckle came to a roaring thunder before ending, he let out a sigh.

"You do not offend me little one- you lack the necessary power to even bother me. And in the end, you are our brother." the Genma said with a grin as he put his thumb to his chest, pointed against his heart and the earth trigram that sealed him in his meatbag host- though that wasn't visible to Ibuku. He took a deep breath before closing his eyes. "You'd be surprised- the Genma and Jinchuuriki experience is... remarkably the same... even if the abilities vary."

Taiga would then go still for almost a minute as Sukairaa woke Taiga and the pair engaged in a completely internal dialogue that no one but the two would bear witness too.

"You can't keep hiding from this kid. I came to terms with the loss of my brother and the gain of a new one- you need to come to terms. He needs you- even if you are quite possibly the worst fuck he could be stuck with." the genma chastised Taiga.

Taiga gulped.

"You're not really giving me a choice here Su-" "You've had weeks- hell a month shitbreath." the Genma antagonized the bannin. The two would go back and forth for a little longer before Taiga let out a sigh.

"If not for what the Genma pact means to you- do it for the village, Taiga." the voice called out. Taiga merely nodded and turned away from Sukairaa, who was perched upon the rock he had once been chained too, along with Taiga. They had broken the chains and achieved freedom in respect for each other. In trust.

The hazy smoke and everything around the group disappeared as Taiga stumbled back- waking as his eyes locked on Ibuku. The man took a deep breath as a feeling of great pain filled his eyes. His face became perplexed. Weakly, he said:

"I uh... Guess you want help with Genjutsu..." he said skipping any introduction in an awkward manner.

Masami...

Lives on in this boy Taiga, as does my brother, Atarasu.

This... wasn't what Ibuku expected. The sudden stillness, that felt like it lasted an eternity and had Ibuku a little worried as he didn't realize he did the same thing at times. Followed by a voice that was unmistakably not Sukairaa's brand of Taiga along with a wild shifting in facial expressions. He had thought that Taiga wanted to avoid him at all costs but... He cleared his head for a moment, figuring that now was not the best time to dabble too far into them as he could feel Shizen nudging him behind in his own way to focus forward onto the moment.

"It is nice to meet you, Taiga-sensei. I'm lacking in Genjutsu and well... Taijutsu also... and I... have heard you are an authority on both. At least, from what I've been told from others who have met you." He had given a simple bow before he had started talking but he otherwise stood there, a little awkward as he was getting the impression Taiga was not ready for this moment. Granted... He wasn't ready himself. He didn't really know how to... act around someone who had gone through all this and he was just experiencing himself.

Ibuku, for a brief moment, wanted to say something else. He had opened his mouth momentarily, but shut it and cleared his throat as he went to take a step back to give Taiga a little more space since he had the feeling it was only more difficult as he had been within arm's reach of Sukairaa moments before this. Finally, he found his voice again and spoke up, after a little weakness at the start of his words. "Either... would be fine? I... am pretty skilled at Ninjutsu for my rank, as I've been told."

"Is your world view completely shaped off of what others tell you?"

Taiga blinked once, unable to avoid a slight heir of annoyance in his tone. He kept hearing as I've been told or some variation of it. It struck a chord in the man who at heart had always been a rebel with a defiance for authority. He took a deep breath centering himself as he peered straight into Ibuku's eyes. "I can train you in both but it'll hurt." he said as he waved his hand in the air. "The only good weapons are those who have been tempered- and I don't have time to waste on anything that cannot survive the tempering..." the Bannin said as he walked a hard tone. Sukairaa chuckled.

He had a mission here. But he didn't care if Tenzin or Fanho was annoyed with him, he was not going to take on deadweight.

"I'll train you in every single thing I know of this world; but you must decide for yourself what it is you want to see. It can't come from anywhere but you." Taiga said as he began to stretch. He dipped low into a squat as he limbered up from his deep slumber.

"But first I'm going to see that you're worth that genma being put in you- cause if not I'd rather they just put it in someone else and focus my efforts there."

Taiga was being somewhat of a dick- Ibuku seemed more emotionally intelligent to some degree than Taiga and could probably see that the cold, strict demeanor was a mask. Just like the masks the ANBU wore. It distanced him from pain. From feelings. Leaping back 30 meters from Taiga, he locked his eyes on Ibuku and waved his hand.

Koi.

The biting comments didn't go unnoticed and for once, Ibuku let a little more of his own emotions slip, something that he was usually good at hiding away deep inside. It came in the form of a small change in his facial expression for a moment. His teeth barely being shown, as if he was biting his bottom lip but there was this hint of actual anger from him. As if he wanted to suddenly give Taiga back what he had just given him. However, considering the situation, he realized that maybe his actions were... understandable. While he was standing there listening to Taiga and watched him step thirty meters backwards, he nodded his head and adjusted himself to a more... loose stance. If anything, his training in anything physical was beyond lacking. There was something he was good at though as Taiga could see it. Performing the necessary handseals, Taiga could see the affects of the jutsu that was being used immediately as Ibuku was coated in a layer of raiton chakra that covered him all over.

Choosing not to use his Genma's brand of jutsu, even if that was what he wanted to show off, he instead utilized something that would boost his combat prowess up close as he did his best to approach quickly. His particular brand of Strong Fist wasn't entirely effective, his shots a little undisciplined but he had enough experience in the field that Taiga could see him willing to press at openings if he could see them. It was clear he was a novice in the area when it came to actual hand-to-hand, just enough to get him through the academy but he made up for it as Taiga could likely see that crackling raiton held a great deal of strength, almost at his own level. Lower, sure, but he didn't seem inexperienced in it.

What Taiga could also see was that chakra building up around Ibuku which was made obvious as it practically looked like a snowstorm around Ibuku, which was spreading around them both steadily as he seemed to be preparing the area for something.
Jutsu UsedShow
*Raiton • Lightning Armament
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After the correct hand seals are performed, the user coats themselves in a thick layer of lightning. This armour of lightning forms near instantly and requires [Control] Strength to break. During this time, the user's physical strikes apply the Raiton shocking effect.

[Being Cast] Sekaijutsu • Call Lightning
C-Ranked Sekaijutsu
Ibuku will allow the Sekaigenma's chakra to flow out from his position, filling a 30 meter area around him with the genma's power. This chakra will interact with the natural elements and particles that fill the air, causing them to form the right conditions for lightning to form. Once per post while Ibuku maintains focus on this technique, he can cause a single bolt of lightning to strike down from the sky at any target within 30 meters of him. This lightning forms with [control] speed and strength and strikes everything within a 5 meter diameter of its impact.

Coming out of his squad Taiga flicked one hand open as it became engulfed in a strange, black smoke. His eyes locked onto Ibuku as he bore witness to the slightest, faintest sign of anger in the form of the boy biting his lip. His own eyes lit up with fire at the site of it. A flame burned inside the boy much as one did inside of him- inside of Fanho. Inside of every Konohagakure shinobi.

So you do have a personality of your own.

With a slight air of drama in response to whatever Ibuku was preparing, he flicked his other hand, it too becoming engulfed in the strange black smoke. With both hands now nothing more than black masses his body lurched forward closing the gap moderately quickly- but clearly at a speed more appropriate to fighting a genin. Ibuku would find it a challenging pace but one completely possible to keep up with.

When he reached Ibuku he would slide into a low lunge as he spun round, bringing a flat palm outwards and up aiming for Ibuku's chest. He'd pull his punch enough that it might cause Ibuku to stumble but would not actually injure him as it normally would.

Taiga's eyes were oddly calm. Calm for the acts of violence his body so smoothly committed.

That was a sting that Ibuku hadn't felt before. That strange black chakra sapped at his Raiton chakra that surrounded him and he could see it quickly starting to consume it, the sensation of the drain being easily felt. Ibuku knew he didn't have a chance in hell fighting against Taiga unless he could support himself with what he was good at... Which prompted him to focus on it. At least, that was the plan in his head. That palm that struck him forced the wind out of his lungs. He hadn't been hit like that since he was training to become a Genin in the first place and it was by someone who was focused fully on the aspects of Taijutsu. It stung to his core and he couldn't stop it at all. He found himself pressed back and stumbling, but he was already starting to channel chakra through his body.

It was likely something Taiga would feel. It was different from the Raiton before, that subtle scent of ozone that was spreading around Ibuku. Even as he was channeling, he moved in and went for a quick series of sweeping low kicks. He hadn't practiced this particular maneuver a whole lot, having to quickly adjust on the fly with each one. It was sloppy, he even braced himself briefly on one of his hands when he went down but he knew he could do better than all of this. He found himself quickly glimpsing back to that particular fight. The other Genin prospect had been skilled in Strong Fist, how did he do it. There was smoothness to the motion, he noticed how the kid had spun to deliver two quick lows as opposed to having to support himself, and there was a more rigid braced structure to give the lows some more 'oomph'.

All of these thoughts flashed through his head as he went to take a small hop back and let the jutsu he had been preparing fly. He figured Taiga would chase and he wanted that. That ozone scent suddenly spiked and if Taiga hadn't looked up, he'd see it now. A small storm cloud had formed overhead. Ibuku threw one last sweeping low kicks, with far better form this time and figuring Taiga would dodge, used his spare hand to quickly make a kai style seal and a bolt of lightning shooting down soon after, followed by a vicious rupture of thunder.

Maybe it was clear to Taiga now just how serious and angry Ibuku was at his comments as the clouds practically shrieked his emotions for many to hear.

Sekaijutsu • Call Lightning
C-Ranked Sekaijutsu
Ibuku will allow the Sekaigenma's chakra to flow out from his position, filling a 30 meter area around him with the genma's power. This chakra will interact with the natural elements and particles that fill the air, causing them to form the right conditions for lightning to form. Once per post while Ibuku maintains focus on this technique, he can cause a single bolt of lightning to strike down from the sky at any target within 30 meters of him. This lightning forms with [control] speed and strength and strikes everything within a 5 meter diameter of its impact.

When Earth met Nature

Post by Taiga » Wed Mar 27, 2024 1:00 pm

As the boy had the air knocked out of him, smoke welled around Taiga. Though is visage unchanged by choice to stay in his human form, his eyes grew colder, yet all the same burning with rage and entirely locked on to the eyes of Ibuku with a deadly silence as he watched the boy stumble slightly backwards, disengaging himself a few meters back as his hands came together and chakra welled up around his body.

He could see the burning of Ibuku's soul. But would that flame stay burning even in the harshest of winds? Memories flooded through Taiga's head as he let out one breath, relaxing his body into a standing position as his hands stayed locked together. His shoulders lowered.

Their world was especially cruel to hosts. No amount of training, love, or support could help Ibuku if his soul alone was not strong enough to survive the journey, and to Taiga, there was no mercy in babying a host. He'd seen scores of failed experiments that made him want to murder the councils that put these demons in the bellies of mere children with hopes they'd produce super weapons. He'd watch the ranks of their illustrious group of 10 change faces year after year- sometimes even measured in months. Being kind to Ibuku wasn't mercy. No- there was no mercy in that, and in fact the only mercy for an ill-fit host was to help them die sooner...

As smoke filled their area, not enough to impact anything visually, he could smell nothing but the ozone. The winds shifted, the smoke dissipated and the air filled with crackling and tension that caused his hair to stand up on it's ends. Taiga was no fool. This boy was nothing more but a child who found father's sword- waving it around with all the imagination but none of the finesse to truly unleash it's potential. Taiga nearly choked up as he though of the hosts they'd lost. Even of Masami who had perfected her bond with Atarasu.

His mind wavered through the memories of each and every loss. Shou. Masami. Zakuro. Even Yozei and Takeo. His hands felt as if they were holding the wait of Ken as he died in his hands- hands coated in blood.

Taiga closed his eyes, disregarding Ibuku's assault completely. The air was filled with the distant rolling thunder, the crackling of electricity, and the humming of Taiga's chakra. He opened his eyes suddenly as he roared, his voice projecting far. Filled with the scratchy, hazy, otherworldly ness of his voice overlapped with the Genmas. His leg, becoming earth dipped into the ground.

Composite of flesh and earth, Ibuku's taijutsu strikes would sail through Taiga doing nothing. The lightning would strike him, running through him but he'd resist it with his might and strength, and reach out for Ibuku grabbing him by the shoulders with both hands and hoisting him up off his feet, exerting his full strength as he shook the boy in place as his eyes bore into Ibuku's.

"Give up kid. You'll just wind up the same as them." his voice ripped through the entire area, triggering his genjutsu.

Suddenly, images would begin to appear in Ibuku's head. The images danced the illusionary magic as emotions and everything followed suit. Ibuku, side seat to Taiga in each one. Never a part of the memory- but only a watcher. Every torment. Every death. Every single loss, until the very last scene was that of a white hair shinobi slipping off Taiga's hand, Taiga coated in blood as the shinobi rolled over onto the ground revealing a Konohagkure forehead protector, only for the genma to fully take Taiga over, devouring his soul for a moment.

The visions continued but in the back of his head- where a scene of Zao murdering Masami and Atarasu would play out, as Taiga would whisper, his head drawing close to Ibuku's ear.

"I can offer you mercy."

He'd place his hand, which morphed to the shape of a blade gently against Ibuku's chest.

"What will it be, Ibuku?"

Given the nature of how Taiga was using his Kotoamatsukami it wouldn't be very effective in making Ibuku think those were his memories. But that wasn't the point. He just wanted to show Ibuku what actually laid ahead of him.

To batter his flame with the winds and see what happened.

[Genjutsu • Kotoamatsukami]
S-Ranked Warp Genjutsu
Prerequisite: 50WP
The legendary Kotoamatsukami technique of Sarutobi Taiga is used to manipulate those around him to extremely effective lengths and is triggered merely by him speaking aloud, after the appropriate hand seals of course. Unlike hypnosis or techniques that force effect individuals to act a certain way, Kotoamatsukami instead is subtle and elicits one extremely strong emotion within a target. To back those emotions up, the technique then inserts "memories" by creating illusions whenever the affected target thinks about their emotions or processes them. For example, he can elicit feelings of uncontrollable hatred towards an ally and when the affected target thinks of this, they will see vivid memories of that person hurting them or doing other heinous things. While the technique itself ends after 8 posts, the subtly of the technique makes it hard to ever know one was in a genjutsu to begin with, as all the feelings and memories felt very real.

Konoha no Senken • Dance of the Falling Leaf/b]
B-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
The only limit to the speed of which Taiga control his body, via rapid acceleration or assimilation, is the speed in which his mind can physically send the impulse to his body to do so. With Taiga's high body control, he has trained and honed his mind and body to be as one, capable of reacting near the speed of thought in terms of controlling himself. This allows him to create interesting attacks by rapidly changing his movement patterns while fighting.

[Earths]
D-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Through training, Taiga has gained the knowledge and discipline to assimilate himself with Earthen substances such as stone, clay, or dirt.

[Flesh]
D-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Through training, Taiga has gained the knowledge and discipline to assimilate himself with Flesh: the bodies of living things.

[Composite Assimilation]
B-Rank Stance Taijutsu
After making contact with an eligible piece of solid matter, Taiga will utilize his Genma abilities to assimilate multiple materials at once, or add more materials to his current assimilation, allowing his body to become a composite of the multiple materials at once. After assimilation he is able to "phase through" or "merge through" objects matching the materials he has assimilated. This technique must be used with a discipline for the appropriate material he is merging with.

[Wembley Vocals]
S-Ranked Maneuver Taijutsu
Prerequisite: [Heavenly Body Control]
If Taiga is merged with the earth, he will vibrate the ground as an extension of his vocal chords with all his strength causing an earthquake in a 75m radius at [Strength], shaking up to 5 time before decaying. Within this area, the vibrations amplify and carry whatever sounds he made at the time, making it extremely loud and amplifying his voice.

When Earth met Nature

Ibuku knew, in the back of his head, just how futile his effort was going to be against someone of Taiga's skill level. It was made all the more clear when the attacks that he had launched made impact but basically did nothing at all to the far older, far more experienced Shinobi. The hands the clasped to his shoulders that followed this heavy roar had him tensed up and feeling unable to move at all as he was shaken around as if in an attempt to wake him up. However, he found himself now in a space that he wasn't sure if was real or false. He got to watch, feel and basically be a part of what he could understand were memories. Certainly not his own, as he was forced to stay a silent observer for the time being, learning and understanding how Taiga got to where he was at current.

He stood there the whole time as he watched each moment as he stared ahead. Eyes unblinking and face expressionless for now. That anger was fading, temporarily. He could hear what Taiga was saying and he hung his head down as he stared at the ground, those images flashing through his vision still. It was a lot all at once, but that anger that was in Ibuku hadn't faded. In fact, seeing the blade and being given the offer... It made it well up fast. "I lost people too... But that doesn't... give you the excuse to be... To be..."

He paused for a brief moment as Taiga could see that strange shell forming over Ibuku. Clearly the start of the form of his own as the wood from his horns grew down across his whole upper body at a rapid pace, the sound of wood crunching and snapping into place as his head, hair and everything Taiga could see was obscured in a ghastly, wooden mask. Especially now, more than before, Ibuku's chakra was escaping off of him as he was still focusing on the jutsu he had cast earlier but was now performing something far larger than before as it had been building since the start of the interaction with Taiga.

His shouting has this discordant, primal, anger filled screech in it. Unlike Taiga's, it didn't have any of the actual effect his did but what Ibuku followed up with would help solidify his point as he was going to bring a hand up fast, the new sound that came was this beginning chirping bird call as he placed this violent ball of Raiton onto Taiga's body if he stayed close. Yet he also didn't seem done talking as he shouted as much as before but without the discordance in his voice. "COMING FROM SOME PUMPED UP NOBLE! YOU STAND HERE THINKING I'LL BACK DOWN BECAUSE ITS HARD?! BECAUSE YOU SUFFERED LOSE!? I DONT EVEN KNOW IF MY NAME IS MY NAME! MY PARENTS ARE GONE AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS AND I DONT HAVE ANYTHING BUT THIS SPIRIT INSIDE OF ME THAT TORMENTS MY MIND WITHOUT IT DOING IT ON PURPOSE. THE SHOUTS AND VOICES OF ALL LIVING THINGS AT ONCE AND YOUVE GOT THE NERVE TO THINK ILL QUIT AFTER IVE BEEN GIVEN SOMETHING THAT IS MINE!?

The way Ibuku dug his hand against Taiga, or at least tried to with the Chidori he was using, and at the same time, the way he screamed... This wasn't normal Ibuku, controlled and collected. It wasn't Shizen, wise and grand. No... This was Ibuku's child side and his primal, lizard mind in one. He was acting his anger out because he was afraid. Afraid of losing the one thing that made him special. The one thing that was first his and his alone. That he knew was his. Taiga might be able to tell that, especially with how much Ibuku was shaking and his chest was heaving... and slowly, the Chidori he held with such fury died down... And his arms slumped. "I'm sorry... I'm not Misami... I can't be... But... They're sorry... They can't be here... But I'm not... going to give up... Just because it hurts or because it's hard... You didn't..." He was breathing heavily as he looked down at the ground still.

He was still young after all... He just needed some guidance and maybe... a little direction for his anger. But he still had fire, he wanted this... and maybe in some way, he needed it.

"Pumped up noble?" Taiga chuckled with a dark, malicious grin as he pressed his hand with slightly more pressure against Ibuku's chest. He watched as the boy began to transform, his horns growing as his body came under further influence of his genma. His eye raised as his teeth rose from the corner of his mouth to sharpened, fine points as black shadowy wings formed from smoke sprouted from his back.

"I think you have a lot of words but nothing else..." Taiga said as his hand rose up to grab Ibuku's hand, grabbing it at the wrist and squeezing with enough pressure to make his hand go limp in the air- it's chidori cackling out. The sparks would hit his hand and cause it to tingle, but he'd be resolute. His eyes locked on Ibuku as he chiding growled- correcting his mistaken name of Misami.

"MA-sami. Masami. You remember that name. She died and that's why you have the power you have." he said as he withdrew his hand then, with force but nothing lethal, chucked Ibuku by his wrist towards a tree. "If all that makes you special is Shizen, then you're a waste." he said as he beat his wings once, rising up into the air. He was picking up on the insecurities of Ibuku- and in a host these insecurities were the thing that were most dangerous.

"If you're nothing without your genma then you shouldn't have a genma." Taiga said as his hand raised out in front of him, pointing at Ibuku. "Give it up and let someone more worthy have it."

He was coldly ripping into the boy for anything he could. Because he needed to. He needed to bring out any darkness into the open and destroy it. This, was the unfortunate truth of being a jinchuuriki. The bottled up feelings or fears were the ones that were the most lethal to a host.

"And even with that genma you won't be special. Not special enough to save anyone. Protect what you love, or anything. That... is nature. We are nothing more than apes on a rock."

Taiga had hit the nail on the head a lot today, which only hurt all the more for Ibuku. Only a month ago, he had been a nobody. An orphan for a middling orphanage, a quiet boy without any friends, and slowly growing colder. Now, he had rage that he hadn't ever felt before, his sadness deepened by the voices he could hear from the Genma's influence, and he was struggling to figure out how to fit in more than before, especially when he was now supposed to be a superweapon for the village. These thoughts and all the more were quick to be shut off though as he sailed through the air and impacted the tree that he had been flung towards with a sickening and violent crunch. The tree cracked and splintered, toppling over and laying across the ground with Ibuku crumpled at its base.

Since Taiga had used his full might there, Ibuku was staying there. Fading in and out of consciousness. Death wasn't imminent but it had certainly been the most hurt he had ever been and still, he could hear the voice, muffled as it may be as blood had filled his ears a little. Chiding him, ripping him apart. The younger boy was breathing in and out with raggedness coating his lungs. He didn't know if he would ever be this strong... But he definitely knew one thing right now. He was forcing himself to stay conscious just a little longer, he let out a few rough words. Ones that were his own thoughts now, based on experience.

"I... hate... you."The voice was weak as he stayed there, a barely functioning mess. Taiga might have succeed in making Ibuku see his flaws, but for now... He wasn't ready to act on them or listen to what this man was saying. Especially not in his current condition.

When Earth met Nature

Post by Taiga » Mon Apr 08, 2024 9:06 pm

The smoke cleared around them as Taiga dropped back down to the earth returning to his normal, human self. Slowly, he stepped towards the broken boy against his tree. ANBU had materialized around them- but Taiga held his hand up in the air and balled it into a fist signaling for them to stop. He was a high ranking ANBU captain and Bannin after all. As he paced closer to the boy he dropped into a squat, just short of him. His face close to Ibuku's as his eyes locked on his, his fist still held up in the air signaling no action was to be taken.

"Good. But I wonder if you hate yourself more?" he whispered, before taking a sigh and pausing for dramatic intent. He watched the shallow breathes from the boy as he fought to stay conscious. He definitely had fighting spirit.

"Admitting you're not special and you're not worthy is the first step to loving yourself- because then you can get better. A hole masked with leaves and sticks is still a hole no matter how much you pretend it's not." Taiga said as he lowered his hand slowly and the ANBU about them began to stir once more.

"Better you acknowledge the hole for what it is and fill it. Focus on yourself. Focus on some skills that you alone can master, regardless of the Genma in you. Build your own identity kid..." Taiga said with a soft grunt as he stood back up and began to slowly back pedal, ANBU rushing past him to Ibuku, at least two with glowing-green hands as they went to apply first aid.

Taiga waved, and with that, he would be gone.

---

As he lept from roof toop to roof top on his way home he contemplated whether he had been too hard on the boy... but, reality was harsh. It was wicked. And being a Genma host amplified that. If Ibuku was to survive he needed to face his insecurities out in the open, not hide from them or cover them up with external forces.

Perhaps though he could have tossed him a little lighter...

When Earth met Nature

Post by FluffyGinja » Mon Apr 08, 2024 10:21 pm

It was a lot harder to listen after having struggled to be awake this whole time, but he forced himself to continue to keep himself conscious. The wood that covered his form had began to deteriorate off of him, exposing the Genin underneath. Each word swam through the air to him and settled deep in his head, the boy hardly able to not listen at this rate since he was rested against the tree. The way that he was being lectured the whole way through only further frustrated him but at this moment, he didn't have much room to say anything. However, as soon as the mass that he heard as Taiga had stepped away, he could hardly keep himself upright much longer and let his head slump downwards and his body rest. For now, he could look into darkness, not even a thought from either side of what he was and let himself be. The ANBU who were tending to him could see just how much he had been hurt. Broken ribs, shattered fingers, bleeding internally... and a pain that he wasn't going to be able to heal very easily.

---

It was dark for a long time for Ibuku. In the darkness, after the pain had subsided to a manageable degree, he was allowed to just think. He wasn't even sure where to begin... He wasn't special, he wasn't worthy... then what even was he? Was there even a point? It was bitter, it hurt... and it made him want to retreat. In the darkness that he floated through, he thought of how to reconcile with himself. What even was that before... was that... what he had felt when it was first sealed? Hatred... for humans... or just hatred for everyone, including himself? He couldn't be sure if it wasn't both at this rate. The feeling of anger wasn't there right now, but it didn't disappear. It never truly could and he knew that. Focus... on his skills... What skills? What would... make him his own? He didn't even know where to begin to think about that and all the while, he could only hear the voice of Taiga. Someone he... genuinely did hate as of right now.

Ibuku had... wanted someone who maybe could understand it all. A brother? He wasn't sure. A mentor? That would be nice but he... wasn't sure there either. Maybe just someone who could help him figure out what he should even do... He had lied to himself, to Sukairaa, earlier... when he said he had it figured out. The more he floated, the more he knew... He didn't know anything at all. It bothered him, it... pressed on his mind like a weight and he'd find himself steadily waking up. It wasn't clear how long time had passed, but he was now in a hospital bed, resting. That much was clear from the sterile nature of the room, the quiet, and the darkness of the nighttime. His eyes adjusted, barely working at the moment as he forced himself to sit up. It all hurt, every single part of him and he winced and gritted his teeth as he let himself rise to a sitting position. The room was... empty as far as he could tell and he couldn't hear any voices near by. As he scanned around carefully, it wasn't just empty... It was like no one had been here at all, not even to see him... Maybe he hadn't been out that long... or maybe... no one knew... or cared.

He could feel his heart racing at the thought of it, looking inward. 'Please be there... please...' and yet... it was quiet. For some reason, whatever it may be, Shizen remained silent. Ibuku, in a growing state of fear, reached up and felt his head. Antlers, still. Which meant he was still sealed... and he was there. That only made the breathing freeze in the air as Ibuku paused himself, his heart pounding furiously... until he laid himself back down. Alone... The one thing he didn't want to be at all. Left with his thoughts for now, he could hear the voices chiding him. Half his own, half of Taiga's... and he was closing his eyes and listening... for better or for worse. He heard his own voice, casting blame on him for what happened, further back than just recently, all the way back to the barely focused in image he maintained in his head of his parents. He could hear the voices of teachers, classmates, Fanho, Taiga... Ripping apart his every little flaw, his mind trying to protect itself from his own harsh criticism.

His hands balled into painful fists, fire shooting through his body as he was forcefully biting down so hard he was causing his gums to bleed and his eyes to water. He hated, more than anything, how right Taiga truly was. He did hate himself, so much. He had wanted to be someone that... someone could be proud of, that someone would even want and right now, it all just... hurt too much to think about. He kept himself still, unballed his fists and let himself rest... and hoped he could figure out just what the hell he was going to do. Right now though, he was lost.
