Beeko's Jutsu Training

Post by 7eleven » Wed Jan 03, 2024 9:01 pm

Today, Beeko would be training in a large open field because he had been "temporarily banned" from the Senju training facilities for "disrespecting the common areas" by "recklessly destroying property". Which was total bullshit because it was an accident and it wasn't even that big of a deal AND he fixed it. Kind of. Whatever. I'm a ninja, not a damn builder!

Beeko's goal for today was to refine some of the skills he had been working on with his new golem, Arimaki. He really thought that he was onto something with this, but he still had a lot of ideas that he needed to work out. His first new jutsu should be easy enough, he was just going to use his seeds to grow the golem like he always did, except he'd do it smaller. Hell yeah. Such a good idea. He was gonna use it all kinds of ways. Sneaking his golem into places so that he could spy on targets during all of the top secret ninja missions he'd be doing now that he was a genin. Maybe he could have small Arimaki, one for each foot. Hell yeah.

He started channeling chakra through his wooden arm and into one of the seeds stored in his hand just like normal, bringing it to the surface to rest in the palm of his hand. As usual, he pictured the "blueprint" of Arimaki in his mind. But then he imagined it, like, smaller than normal. Like, a lot smaller. Beeko onto that image for a moment as he channeled chakra to activate the seed, but this time he used less chakra than he normally would. He figured since he was making a smaller golem, he'd need less chakra, right? Right. Yeah, this was totally going to work.

He threw the seed at the ground and instantly grew into Arimaki, and it was smaller! Hell YEAH! Absolute success. Damn, I'm good. Instead of the four foot long golem that Beeko was used to, he was instead looking at a version of Arimaki that was like half a foot long. Hoping he would still be able to ride it, Beeko hopped on, but was immediately met the sound of snapping twigs as the tiny golem collapsed under him. Damn. He wouldn't be able to ride it, but he could definitely still use it for the sneaky stuff. Which was probably more important than riding it, he could already do that.
Training:
Kodamaton • Scale Germination: Tiny
D-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra, Beeko will activate one of his seeds, causing it to near instantaneously grow into one of his golems.
However, unlike the standard Kodamaton • Germination technique, this jutsu allows Beeko to create a smaller version of his golem. The golem can be as small as 1/10th of its base size. The caveat is that this also cuts the Strength of the golem by an appropriate amount (half size is half Strength), making it less than ideal for combat use. He is able to activate seeds within a range of 15 meters.
Next! Beeko's next idea was about him using his Kodamaton skills to control other wood kinda like how he does with his golem. He figured it would make sense to start with something small, so he ran over to the nearest leaf and picked it up and let it rest in the palm of his hand. And then he just... stared at it... and thought really hard about controlling it in the same way that he controlled Arimaki. It wasn't quite like doing other Mokuton stuff, but it was similar... but he wasn't quite sure how this would feel since he'd never done it bef- Whoa! Damn! The leaf flew right out of his hand and skittered across the ground for about a foot before coming to a rest. Man, am I goo- oh. No, that was just the wind. Or was it? Hard to tell. Damn.

So a leaf wouldn't work because he'd need to be able to tell if he was the one who actually caused it to move, so he spent a minute looking around at the base of a tree until he found a twig that was so thin that it looked like it might break if he looked at it too hard. Which was exactly his plan. He sat down in the grass with his legs crossed, planted his palms firmly on his knees, and stared at the little stick while he channeled his chakra. This came pretty naturally to him when he tried to channel his chakra to control Arimaki, so it was a bit difficult to know if it felt right. He tried to imagine controlling the stick in the same way, thought of moving one end of it like it was one of Arimaki's legs, while willing the other end to stay completely stationary and- snap! The twig cracked into two.

Now, Beeko wanted to see if he would be able to control a bigger branch while it was still attached to a tree. He channeled his chakra and stared at a large branch about 5 meters away, trying to will it to move just a little bit. It didn't take long for him to get a little bit of a wiggle out of it, just enough to rustle the leaves. With some more time and effort he was able to get the entire crown of the tree to sway just a little. Not a lot, but enough to emulate wind blowing through the leaves.
Training:
Kodamaton • Bunraku
D-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra, Beeko is able to freely control an existing source of wood within 15 meters. This can either be wood that he has created himself, or naturally existing wood like a tree or stray branch. His control is limited to the bounds of natural movement for the source of the wood. Meaning that while he might be able to cause a small twig to snap in order to create noise, or fling a small stick at an opponent as a minor distraction, he cannot uproot an entire tree.
And for his next trick he was going to make Arimaki...disappear! More specifically, disappear into a tree. And then come back out of the tree. Should be simple enough, he had seen those old Senju guys do the same thing with their actual bodies. So doing it with more wood should be a total breeze. He started by channeling chakra into one of his other seeds and throwing it at the ground and out popped Arimaki, just as expected. Then they walked around until he saw a tree big enough for Arimaki to pass fully into.

Alright, here we go. He set Arimaki running as fast as he could manage straight at the tree, channeling chakra into the golem the entire time. He wasn't sure how much chakra it would take, so he used a bunch just to be safe, because if he messed this up, then Arimaki was going to smash pointlessly into the tree. Which...is exactly what happened, snapping one of the golem's mandibles clean off. Damn.

But Beeko had an idea- he JUST taught himself how to make a smaller version of the golem, and he figured it would be easier to do this that way. So he again threw one of his seeds at the ground, causing it to grow into the much smaller version of the golem, about 5 inches long. He was feeling impatient, so instead of taking the time to make the golem run at the tree, he just picked it up and chucked it right at the trunk while channeling his chakra in an attempt to get the golem to pass into the wood- and it worked! It was kind of weird to see, honestly, as the tiny wooden beetle disappeared beneath the bark.

Beeko figured the hard part would be getting it back out, though. He channeled his chakra again, trying to connect with the golem. It was a bit more difficult than normal, since he wasn't able to see it, but he was definitely able to feel its presence from within the surrounding wood. He willed the golem to wiggle its way through the wood back towards him, which felt odd- it was definitely different to move Arimaki through wood rather than just along the ground. But after a few moments he saw the ends of the golems mandibles emerge through the bark, before passing fully back out and falling softly to the grass.
Training:
Kodamaton • Wood Bore
D-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra, Beeko is able to pass one of his golems into an already existing source of wood to hide, assuming the wood is large enough to accommodate.
Next up would be a bit of a shift- it was probably about time that Beeko learned some regular old Mokuton techniques. The old fart Senju were always getting on to him about it, how it was "tradition" and "his responsibility as a member of the Senju clan" or whatever. As if he wasn't riding around town all day on a golem made out of wood, or as if literally a third of his body wasn't made out of the stuff. Everyone could tell he was a Senju clan member just by that alone, but no, having full control over an autonomous wooden golem just wasn't going to cut it for these old guys.

Beeko had been toying with a simple enough idea of his first Mokuton technique. He pulled his mallet from its place at his hip, and flipped it around so that he was now holding it by the handle. He loved his mallet, but the short handle prevented him from doing much aside from incredibly close quarters fighting- which really wasn't Beeko's style at all. He was more of a hang back kinda guy, preferring to let his golem do most of the up close work.

Beeko channeled Mokuton chakra through his hand and into his mallet, aiming to supplement the existing wood and grow its size- he immediately felt the weight shift in his hands as the mallet grew slightly heavier and the handle extended outwards from him. The handle extending by 24 inches for a total length of 36 inches. The head of the mallet doubled in size, making it 2 feet long and 1 foot in diameter. Beeko looked over his new weapon with pride- now that's a mallet!

Beeko spent some time swinging the thing around to get used to the new weight distribution. It wasn't really that much heavier, but the extended length of the handle made the weight distribution way different- it took a lot more physical effort to swing it around than he was used to. But after swinging it around for awhile he was starting to get the hang of it, and he was able to swing it without feeling like he was going to go toppling over. He picked a rock up off the ground and lobbed it up into the air so that it would come down about 3 feet from him and took a hearty swing with his mallet just as the rock was at eye level - and total whiffed it. The rock fell to the ground with a soft thud. Whatever. He got the jutsu to work, which was good enough for now.
Training:
Mokuton • Big Mallet
D-rank Mokuton Ninjutsu
After performing the required handseals, Beeko will channel Mokuton chakra into his mallet and cause it to grow in size. He is able to increase the length of handle by 24 inches, length of the head by 12 inches, and the diameter of the head by 6 inches. The mallet also gains Mokuton's passive growth effect.
