Genin at the Konoholic

Post by Zero » Wed Apr 15, 2009 4:38 pm

Kazurian entered the Konoholic, dropped his weapons and took the band that signified an underage ninja. After heading up the bar and ordering a soda he relaxed for a bit while waiting for it. Things were so boring lately, missions were slow to come by, too slow for him to get a hold of. And so far he'd still forgotten to purchase more kunai. The days were busy, but boring.
His drink got to him quick and he took a large gulp, feeling it refresh him very little Kaze looked around. Tables were full and the waitresses were tripping over themselves trying to get orders around. While this happened he made a mental note to get his groceries and head back to town quick. But as he turned his sight back to the cup in his hand an older ninja, stumbling over his own feet and trying to get to the bathroom, tripped over another man. This quickly entailed a fight and they were forced to leave. The genin paid no attention to it. He just took another gulp of his soda and asked for another before he finished his first.

Magma strolled in the Konoholic without a care in the world. Upon entering, he passed two drunk dude who were getting thrown out by security. He was about to walk right in when he has held back by what looked to be a Jounin. He pointed to Magma's katana, strapped to his back and then to the rack with 20 other sword and other weapons on it. Then he handed Magma a card that said, "Under 21" meaning he couldn't have alcohol. He scoffed and took his sword off, putting it on the rack.

He went up to the bar and ordered a soda. About three seats to his left, another boy, who looked about his age, was drinking the same exact thing. Finally, Magma finished his soda and asked for another. At the same time his soda was being refilled, he moved down a few seats to the kid, leaving one seat between them. "Hi," he said. "I didn't think I'd see another young person here. Usually this place is packed with grown-ups only." The soda slid down the counter and Magma caught it without looking. "I'm Magma. And you are?"

Kaze looked over at the boy with the corner of his eye. "Kazurian. I usually go by Kaze or Kazu. Your choice which to use." He'd never seen this boy before, maybe at the Ninja Academy, but probably he'd forgotten him after graduating. Kazu looked down the bar at another older person drinking. The man was beginning to sway on his seat. "Yeah, usually this place is crowded. Then again, half of them are drunk. The others are just guys looking for a good time. Maybe I can sympathize, considering I'm looking to pass the time. How 'bout you Magma? Just came by for a break or what?." Kaze smirked, most people would just stop by for a bit, he himself usually dropped by to relax. Of course, he'd never told his dad why he took so long in town and the old man was indeed getting impatient by now. Oh well, wouldn't be the first time Kazurian had made him wait. As a few other guys were beginning to get rough a female jounin broke them up. Kaze couldn't help himself from laughing. "Looks like security is gonna be busy too."

Magma understood what he meant when he saw the female Jounin throw two guys out. "Yeah, they will," he laughed. He took another sip of his drink and put the cup down. "I'm here to just relax. My folks don't really care where I am this late. As long as I get home." He cracked his knuckles and took another sip of the soda. "Anyway, I prefer Kazu. It has a nice ring to it."

Kazurian scoffed at that. "Anyway, I prefer Kazu. It has a nice ring to it," he'd said. This guy really wasn't that bad. Kazu turned back to his drink and took another large gulp. Funny as things were right now, the security was gonna be busy. Another fight was beginning to break out, and despite a loss of weapons, nobody could stop a jutsu. Not even in the Konoholic. Kazu smiled, but not the cocky carefree one he'd shown before. This one, being part of his other persona. Kazu's bipolarity kicked in as he took another sip of the soda, finishing it off. The fight going on behind him and Magma must've been worth a laugh because it was obvious nobody was making a move to stop it. The bartender was yelling at them to knock it off, but nobody could listen over the sound of someone's fist pounding another person's face. Kazurian quickly spun on his seat and watched the fight. The smirk disappeared as the cold, apathetic Kazu surfaced. He watched the fight only a moment before getting immediately tired of it. A ninja could only take so much before drunken stupidity got to him, even if it was the type of drunken stupidity that started a bar brawl. Without looking to see if Magma was watching too, Kaze stood up and stepped forward. "Think it might be fun to end this?" He asked the other genin.

Magma leaned back against the counter with his back to it. He tapped his glass a few times before taking a gulp of it. Suddenly, the bartender started yelling at someone, so he turned around to see what was up. The first thing he saw was someone's fist pounding another person's face. Magma smirked a bit and let out a small chuckle as he watched the drunken stupidity of the two people. Magma could only imagine what was going on with the other people's mind as no one tried to stop it. "Think it might be fun to end this?" Kazu asked him. Seeing Kazu walk forward, Magma stood and went beside him. "I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be," he answered.

Kaze dashed forward, forming the handsigns for his jutsu aiming directly on the two drunks fighting. "Follow after me. I'll make them easy targets." With that being said Kaze stopped about 20 feet from the men, and executed his Jutsu. "Howling Wind." The words themselves came out in a whisper, there was no feeling to it, only cold concentration. The air around the genin stiffened and focused into both his palms, the chakra started to turn a little visible, but only barely. Kaze thrust his hands together and thrust them in front of him, aimed directly at the two fighting men. Immediately as the wave of Fuuton chakra hit them they were frozen, closed in as the oxygen and air around them compressed and froze their movement. The air then changed again as Kaze pushed the last wave of the attack at them, the force pashed over them harshly and the wind began slashing their bodies. None of the cuts were deep, but they would be deep enough to be painful. As the last of the air slashed them up Kazu still held them in place with his chakra. "Your turn." He whispered, uncaring if Magma had really heard him.

Magma watched as Kazu rushed forward and used a ninjutsu on the fighters. He sat back and let the other genin handle what he wanted to handle. When he stopped, Magma started to form handsigns. When he finished, his hands became flooded with katon chakra. He ran forward at the two drunk people. Once he got close enough, he jammed his fist into the ground. "Ryuusai Sentou," he said, almost as quiet as a loud whisper. A blast of fire surrounded the area, sending both men high in the air. Magma smirked a bit as they came back down. He formed another handsign and his fist was flooded with more katon chakra. "Hashira," he said, punching the ground again. A large pillar of fire shot out of the ground and blew through the men, sending them in different directions. They both landed on tables, breaking through them. Magma stood up from his kneed position and grinned, wiping his hands together. "Well, that was easy," he said, walking back to Kazu.

Kazurian's face retained the apathetic, emotionless look. He watched as Magma performed his Katon jutsu, they were admittedly quite useful and definitely the type of power expected from it. The two that were now lying on the broken tables were thrown out and the security ninja now faced the two genin who had stopped them. Neither looked happy but left them to be. Kaze went back to his seat at the bar and ordered another drink, gulping down the last of his previous one. Retaining his regular persona Kazu looked back at Magma with a cocky smirk. "Nice shot, man." As his next soda was passed to him, the young ninja downed it in a gulp and paid the bill for both of them. "Guess we can't say we were wasting our time eh Magma?" Kaze couldn't help but laugh at the idiotic drunkards and how suddenly everyone else was paying more attention to their drinks than anything else.

Magma took a seat at a random table as Kazu went back to get another drink. "Nice shot, man," he complemented. "Thanks," Magma answered. "Yours was awesome too." He smiled and looked around, seeing everyone try to avoid eye contact with him. He knew they were staring when he wasn't so he grinned at everyone around him. Kazu finished another drink and paid the bill for him and Magma. "No, we can't say that. It was like training." Magma got out of his seat and laughed. "Speaking of training, the Chuunin Exams are coming up."

He nearly choked on the very air he was breathing and suddenly slammed his head on the bar.THE CHUUNIN EXAMS!!!! Perfect time for Magma to bring that up. All month Kazu's dad had chatted about it. Over and over, the old man never shut up about it! And now that Magma mentioned it, it started to feel a bit painful to think of. Kazurian's family was really starting to annoy him about it. Was he gonna sign up? Was he gonna win? He hated thinking about the exams. Instead of saying this to Magma, Kaze looked up from the bar and muttered, "Yeah I know. You're gonna join aren't you? Good luck Magma." Thoughts of fighting filled his thoughts again and again Kaze slammed his face into the bar in front of them. But it was true, his dad had high expectations of him. And his mother was supporting him too, much more than the old man since he could barely hold a kunai the right way (that never stopped him from being a great ninja and leader of the Hitsugi clan though. And somehow he was a better ninja than most in his class back in the day). Still, after all the annoyances and nagging, Kaze felt he had little choice other than to join in.

Magma looked confused when Kazu slammed his head into the bar. 'What the hell?' he thought. "Uh...yeah. Of course I'm entering." Kazu slammed his head on it again and Magma raised an eyebrow at him. "Aren't you joining?" Magma thought about the exams. Would they be fun? Would they be boring? Would it be hard? Would he get killed? "Hey," he almost shouted out. "We should enter together. You know, as a team."

Now that he thought about it. Magma would make a good partner, Katon and Fuuton were elements that naturally fed off each other. Kaze finally sat back up and asked for another drink. "Entering together...," he muttered. Another smirk crossed his face. "Yeah, let's enter it together. Flame and Wind would be a good combo. But there should be 3 of us ya know? How about a Lightning ninja to kick it off? Katon, Fuuton, and Raiton." The three elements were a good combination, Wind and Thunder were elements that were usually well together, as were Wind and Flame. Flame and Thunder were also a good match. Those three elements would be a good idea. Still, there was no telling who would join them. And maybe...even a Wood element ninja would join. That would be catastrophic for Magma's chakra, but then again, burning wood doesn't make a bad trap. "Scratch that, any element would be a good addition. As long as we can all make sure we could cooperate well as a team. And as tacticians." Strategies were important in a fight. What jutsu to use, what items. Planning is a pain, but one that Kaze could actually put up with.

"You're right. There should be 3." Magma put a hand on his chin and looked down as he pondered a third person. Someone with Raiton, as Kazu mentioned would kick ass. Fire, Wind, and Lightning. Now, that was a good team. "Anything's good," Magma admitted. "I don't mind all that much." 'But Raiton would still kick ass,' he thought with a smile. He thought if there was anything that might make the team even better. For a while, he kept the same facial expression, thinking. 'Nope. Raiton kicks ass. No question,' he concluded. "Yeah, I don't really care either. As long as he, or she, isn't dead weight."

Kazurian looked at Magma. "Agreed. No dead weight. But how many Raiton ninja do you know? That's the thing, I dunno any." for once Kaze swore under his breath. Fuuton, Kaiton, and Raiton. There were no exceptions. Wind, flame, and thunder. It's a team like that that may get the three of them passing the Chunnin Exams. At the same time Kaze was thinking maybe that could become a permanent team. Course it would also be a choice of Magma and their third member. "Even dead weight can be picked up. Before the Chunnin Exams we gotta find a Raiton genin, and after that if they suck we'll just have our own team training session. 3-way." He smirked at the thought. It might be fun, and a team of their own, no having to change up constantly for every C-rank mission there was.

"How many?" Magma asked, raising an eyebrow. "Um...none." He thought of anyone he might have known, but none came to mind. "Nope. No one." He dropped his gaze to the floor and kicked nothing. "Damn." He listened to Kazu's explanation about training from nothing and remembered how he was like that. It made him smile a bit. "Yeah, sure. That is if we find one."

"What's the point in giving up before ya try? Far as I'm concerned...there's never a hopeless start." Kazurian flashed a confident smirk and looked at Magma. "We could probably ask around town. Maybe even put up a notice at the local Message Board at the Academy. 'Wanted, Raiton Genin. Age Range: 14~16 or something. No gender specified. No requirements.'" The genin had thought it through well. If him and Magma put out an ad then maybe there would be a chance that they could get a ninja to join them. If not, then they would have to sign up as a duo and wait for a new member to be assigned to them. That, on the other hand, could be disastrous. Especially in the case of another Fuuton or Kaiton Genin. Might as well put it out and just pray.

"An advertisement?" Magma asked. "For a Raiton Genin?" He thought about the idea for a second, knowing the downfall to that instantly. "Isn't that, like, a slap to the face of every Katon Genin?" Let's review: They were in Konoha, land of Fire. Pretty much every Genin there was a katon user. "Besides that fact, yeah, it's pretty good."

"That's where you're wrong Magma. Konoha might be a part of the Land of Fire, but that doesn't mean all other elementals are unwelcome. Hence, it's not gonna be offensive whatsoever to see an ad for a Raiton genin. Others might think of it like a team gathering, and even then, isn't that what we're trying to do Magma?"

He hadn't really thought of that. When Kazu explained it, he kinda felt a bit embarrassed. "Yeah, I guess you're right," he said. A waitress passed him with two glasses of soda. He reached for one and gulped it down before she could say anything. "All right," he said to Kazu. "Let's do it then."

Kazurian nodded, it was definitely time to set the Team. But, that also meant asking a jounin for help. this was definitely gonna be a pain.
