Coming back again.

A young man was sat at the bar. His eyes were of an amber colour, while his hair was a dark dark black. He was clad in a sleeveless jeans vest above a slightly-too-tight white singlet. He was tanned, and his legs were easily spotted beneath his shorts. On his left arm, a black tattoo could be seen. It seemed like Laos was recovering from a day at work - and judging from the size of his wallet, it had been payday.

Of course, Laos's work was unorthodox to say the least. He had succesfully parted a rich shopkeeper from half of his resources earlier that day, meaning that he could keep up the routine for another week or so. Two weeks if he lived soberly. Tonight, however, was celebration night. Doing it in Konoha was in a sense risky, but also quite safe - if anyone even suspected Hideki to be still alive, the last place they'd expect him was Konoha.

Some thirty minutes later, Laos had entered a rather interesting conversation. The men were ninjas, as apparent by their forehead protectors and utility vests. If they were to be believed, they were Jounin about to be promoted to Bannin. That last bit should probably be taken with heaps of salt, but Laos believed the first part: their vests indicated a rank of at least Chuunin, and they seemed of the right age to be Jounin. More importantly, though, they spoke of the missing-nin they had fought. It was mostly bragging, and salt was once again involved, but Laos was fascinated by the reputations that could make the experienced Jounin gasp even now. If one mentioned a name, the other's eyes widened in amazement.

At that point, Hideki decided that he wanted a reputation like that. A master thief of whom only rumours existed, a man well-known yet seen by none. He was quite confident that he'd be able to do it. Oh sure, it would take some time, but Hideki was a patient man. He would drop subtle hints that Fukumitsu Hideki wasn't quite gone yet - none of which giving any clue to his whereabouts, obviously. In fact, he would start tonight. The shopkeeper had probably discovered that he had been robbed, but considering the time and the distance he lived from Konoha, he wouldn't report it until tomorrow. In other words, if Hideki could plant his message before sunrise, the people of Konoha would probably link the message to the theft.

He finished the last of his drink, said goodbye to his two conversational partners, paid off his tab and took off. It was a dark, cloudy night - perfect. After discretely changing into his Hideki outfit, he got onto the roofs and observed the town until he could figure out the best route to the Hokage's building.

Well, there he was. Hidden outside the Hokage building, but as it turned out, the entrance was guarded. Hideki expected it, of course, but he just wanted to make sure. All it meant was that he'd have to stick to the original plan.

There was a convenient wall to his right, shielded from the sight of the guards by a house in front of it. If he traveled by rooftop and stayed low, he could get to the window of the Hokage's office with a single Shunshin no Jutsu. Then he could plant his message on that window.

The young thief reached into his bag, and found a smoke bomb. He threw it onto the ground, made a handseal and whispered "Ninpou; Senpuku ni Kemuri." Using Kinobori no Waza, Hideki scaled the wall. He crawled across the roof, approaching where he knew the office was. He'd been there a few times back when he was still a member of Konoha's ninja force, and if he wasn't mistaken, it would be unguarded at this hour. And even if it were guarded, he wouldn't actually enter...

After a short while, Hideki found himself close enough to the window to get over there. There was some moonlight, but the smoke would protect him from that light if somebody should look outside. With a lockpick in one hand, he began scratching the window, writing a message. It took longer than usual, having to write mirrored, and having to make as little sound as possible. He succeeded in both, and as soon as the message was planted, he got away from the window. After that, he made his way over to where he has hidden his disguise kit.

Upon assuming the identity of Laos, he walked casually out of Konoha. Who'd connect this friendly chap with the message in the window?

Fukumitsu Hideki, leader of thieves. When the report from the shopkeeper came in later, they should be able to connect the dots - a theft ordered, or perhaps executed, by Fukumitsu Hideki, the ninja they thought missing. Perhaps they'd attribute even more thefts to him. The idea caused an inside smile on Laos's face.
