Lately with everything that had been going on Gene almost had no time to check on his job at the Konoholic, now that the chance finally presented itself he felt that it would be a good idea to formally announce his resignation from the place. It was the least he could do instead of continuing to not show up; and so, with the thought of peaceful resolution in mind he pushed the double doors to the olden establishment open and walked through. What he saw on the other side beyond the threshold had completely taken him by surprise.
"Now everybody listen up! Nobody moves and nobody gets hurt! All we want is the cash you kind folks have and we'll be on our way, real nice and quiet like!" Draped in tattered fabrics from head to toe and an old style black cowboy-hat, the man who spoke seemed less intimidating to Gene than anything he'd ever seen before but the way he'd spoke was like that of a dignified professional crook. More surprising was the fact that this frail looking lunatic had been able to hoist the pub owner up by the collar and had him pint over the counter when Gene knew for a fact that the old man was a lot stronger and smarter than what this guy had to offer. It wasn't until his gaze followed a swift line of movement to his right that he realized the customers were being held either at knife point or being strapped down with rope and explosive tags.

Shit there was a lot of these guys! If he had to guess, Gene reasoned that over half of the pubs population consisted of these bandits while the other half were being held hostage. So far, no one had noticed his entrance which gave him a little bit of time to spring into action. As quickly and silently as he could, Gene drifted off to the left only to be hammered with punches from one mammoth of a man sending him crashing to the floor. "Look like we got ourselves a sneaky-dinky bastard!" Shouted the overgrown ogre, the situation had just gone from bad to worse in all of five seconds. "Well tie that sucker up and strap a bomb to his chest! Keh-keh-keh-keh!" Yeah, like fucking hell. As the man bent down to pick him up Gene sent his left foot rocketing into his groin which caused the man to keel over releasing a sound that he hadn't quite heard before. As the man was falling, Gene rose with a swift open palmed thrust to the ogre's throat and stepped out of the way to watch the show.

TIMBER!

That son of a bitch went down and Gene doubted he'd be getting back up any time soon. Problem was, that was just ONE guy and immediately after watching this display the remaining guards got with the program and didn't even try to take on our Silver-haired hero. Instead, they'd directed their attention to the hostages. Ah, ah, ah! That will be enough outta you! Make one more move and I'm gonna blow this whole goddamn building sky high along with all these kind folks here." Now this was bad, where the hell were all the Shinobi that usually came here? Weren't they supposed to be on point at a time like this?! No sooner had he thought about it did Gene realize that among the hostages were several Shinobi that he'd recognized in passing, they were tied up as well with some kind of blue tag that was different from the paper bombs strapped to everyone else's rope. Were they being suppressed somehow? One thing was for sure and two things were for certain; he couldn't risk the lives of others by trying to play the macho role but more than that, he needed to figure out just how the hell these crooks who seemed dumber than a box of rocks, got their hands on something like an explosive tag to begin with. Had someone stolen from a vendor?

Damn it! If it were just himself then he would not have given a damn about going toe to toe with these crooks but the expressions of the many frightened women in attendance as well as the inebriated shinobi forced him to accept the reality that this wasn't going to be a cake walk scenario. He would have to think on his toes and quickly before this really got out of hand (not that it wasn't already out of fucking hand) . "Fine." Despite his surrender, Gene shot the man seemingly in charge a look that said "if I figure out how, I'm going to tear your fucking head off." Causing the man twice his age to jump back several feet; "Well what're you waitin' for?! Tie his ass up!" Gene huffed, captured by a low life - what were the odds?

Bound and secured with two Ninjutsu sealing tags as well as a paper bomb, Gene found his place among the other hostages with great disdain. The ropes were not hard to get out of but the fact that all of the 'guards' were pretty much trained to his position made doing anything impossible. If only he could get some kind of distraction....

The Konoholic in distress!:
A group of bandits have overtaken the Konoholic and in the process, captured Hidden Leaf Shinobi Mitsurugi, Gene and several others. Your task is to help free the hostages and clear the bandits out without causing the death of any of them. The front door has been boarded shut and the guards are stationed all throughout the building with a clear line of sigh of one another; in the rear, there are two small windows that are unlocked but make a lot of noise when opened. There is also a chimney for the fire place but it hasn't been cleaned out in ages and is extremely narrow (characters 5'8, 5'9 and 6'0 won't be able to fit). Time is running out!

The crisis team was gathered outside of the Konoholic. There were negotiators, ANBU, elite jounin, and a plethora of people ready to storm in at any moment. They all stood there helpless though. Because there was hostages... Situations like this were always tough. From nearby, embedded in a tree, Taiga listened to the commander of the shoddily thrown together task force give out information.

A group of bandits have overtaken the Konoholic- we don't know much but we know there are hostages. The front doors boarded shut and sensory outputs show there's plenty of guards in there... we also seem to see tags on the hostages... getting in at the moment seems impossible, and a channel for negotiations hasn't yet- Taiga's ears went from their perked position back to normal as he backed off. Shit like this always made him very, very mad. He had been laying low for a while... but he couldn't allow this to happen in his city. He couldn't allow for anything bad to happen ever again... not after Yaku and Enma.

Never again will I be powerless.
Two halves make a whole.

Smoke rushed off his body as it rapidly transformed. Dark grey smoke surrounded his head in the shape of a hood, till his head was no longer visible. His face was nothing but darkness with two glowing eyes beneath it. The smoke stretched out over his body forming two black wings which fell to his back like a tattered cape. His body shrouded, he sank into the earth. He could feel the vibrations of the building and of the area around him. He'd look for the mass of still vibrations- ones who had more distributed weight on the ground. He was sure the hostages would be there. Between them all, he'd poke his head up ever so slightly, using the hostages to obscure himself but perhaps get a glimpse of who was in there.

One of the vagabonds had been going around the large room emptying the pockets of each hostage while another held a large bag that the other filled as he made his rounds. Everyone else seemed comfortable enough in their situation to fix themselves a drink or two while the others worked through the crowd. As luck would have it, Taiga would have popped head up just as the two bandits passed by, and the large frame of a heavy set man served to obscure him from the rest of them. All except for the hostages behind the man, one of which witnessed the strange phenomenon with wide eyes and palms full of sweat! Clad in black and rising from the ground one would have been hard pressed to picture the Sarutobi as a hero; in fact, he looked more akin to a demon rising out of hell.

"GRNMMMMMM HNGNNGG!" Muffled by mouth restraints the man screamed in horror. But the guards none the wiser to the situation assumed his panic to be from their antics and not of a stranger than fiction happening."Hey! Would someone shut that guy the hell up!" Exclaimed the leader of the troupe. Gene, what had been fiddling with his restraints averted his eyes away from the leader and focused in on the screaming man. It hadn't taken him long to note the black contrast from the worn brown material. It was clearly some kind of jutsu but no one here besides the ninja would have been hip to it. Shit! If the guards were to spot that it would be trouble! But...was this a friend or foe?

Gene had a decision to make and quickly. There was no time to dwell on the what ifs right now and he was starting to get desperate. If this thing was an enemy the he could be dealt with later but the hostages wouldn't get a second chance....forcing himself to a stand still bound Gene knawed through the mouth gag until he'd torn enough of it away to spit the whole thing out. "Oi, you won't get away with this you son of a bitch!" Hopping forward, Gene struggled as the band rushed him as he thought they would. Right now all eyes were on him and the Savage beating he'd been dolled out as a result of his out burst.

He'd hoped that his pain would buy the mystery Shinobi some time to make something happen. Otherwise...the civilians were doomed.

Taiga didn't quite see that it was Gene, but he was glad whoever it was stood up to draw attention after a plumper, more stupid hostage decided to throw a fit and draw attention to the person who was there to rescue them. Seemed that particular prisoner was smart- but also getting the crap beat out of him now for standing up like that.

Fucking fat Idiot.

He had no doubt he could disarm these men and beat them to a pulp, but, they could trigger the tags and kill the innocence before he could do that likely... He needed to get rid of the hostages before he could tackle the hostiles.

Taiga, if the fat man could still see him, would raise his index finger to his lips, signaling for him to be fucking quiet. That said maybe his costume was a little more villan-y than it was heroic looking... With the luck of having not been seen, he'd use it to survey the room quickly and drop back below. The most hidden, furthest from the guard captees would come first. Back beneath the ground... He could see tags on them all. Luckily, the seals weren't affixed to the people and instead the seals were pieces of paper stuck like sticky notes to them and the rope. Child's play. Beneath the ground, and directly beneath the hostages to be exact, Taiga would create two clones. Once more and carefully and to Taiga's command as he used his sensory ability, all three would reach up, their arms phasing through the ground, and as they touched the humans, phasing through the humans. Taiga literally hid his arms, undetectable within the bodies of the sitting captives.

Next, he'd move his hands, and his clones to, to the sides until his fingertips touched the paper. He'd then phase his hands into the paper, becoming one with it. And then he'd slide the tags off. He'd keep using this technique to eliminate any risk of being seen, but also free up the hostages. Hopefully the dude getting beat up would put up more a fight or cause more a scene. Taiga needed more time.

Meanwhile, Gene could feel the heat rise within as his anger hit a point that he hadn't realized was there when this all started. Something about being kicked in the knads and then stepped on really grinded his gears - especially since he could do nothing about it. As a Shinobi, no , as a Captain In the villages most dangerous unit to date; pain was but a sign of weakness leaving the body. For every blow he received, Gene retaliated with Gusto, going so far as to trip one of his attackers so he could bite the man's ear off. The bandits, normal men with some sketchy upbringing, hadn't been accustomed to seeing so much blood let alone dealing with a person capable of inflicting harm while in binds. To the leader it had become obvious that this silver haired dragon of a man would become a problem if left in dealt with.

As the rest of his men struggled, the brawny man picked up a glass from the counter and drank what little whiskey remained in it before slow walking over to where one of his henchmen bled out writhing in pain from a wound where his right ear used to be."Fiesty little devil ain't'cha boy? Now I likes ya,
but I can't have you here scaring my men and inspiring violence can I?"
The brawny man paused, took a breath, and then began savagely beating his violent guest with the glass cup he'd picked up from the counter.

It was strange....after the first few blows Gene couldn't feel a thing. But he was still conscious of that he was certain and... something else, something amazing! In the scuffle one of the nitwit guards had rolled Gene the wrong way and the Ninjutsu sealing tag that restricted his chakra flow was gone! Only...he'd taken one too many blows to the head. Things weren't clicking in his mind as fast as they should but at least he could stave off a killing blow by coating himself in chakra. Despite being beaten the Jounin managed a crooked smile that was less than stellar due to the hanging skin and blood spilling out his mouth but he'd managed to rile up the group even more. "What the hell is up with this guy?! It's like he enjoys this shit!" Gene heard one of them say through beaten eardrums.

Truthfully, this was a beating well deserved. After all, he hadn't been able to save Fanho when it mattered...compared to that pain what he felt now could not compare. He only hoped that the hostages were on their way to safety.

Taiga was continuing to disarm the traps off of the hostages. By now he had finished the majority in the main part of the room. With his initial risk taken and the room memorized and patterns of people, he'd be able to keep hiding inside of the hostages themselves as he undid the traps on them. He'd continue this process for as long as he needed to get the hostages free. Then, if he still had time considering how fast he was moving, he'd begin to weaken the floor underneath the hostages, leaving a clone underneath. As soon as he had them all clear, he'd drop them through the floor, then use his clones to patch it back up. Once that was done, he'd be able to fight.

Hopefully whoever it was causing a ruckus and drawing attention wouldn't get killed, and would keep it up so Taiga could keep freeing up the hostages.

Gene's ears were ringing. He'd long since stopped hearing the shouts and taunts of the men beating him but just as well he understood what they were saying. His left arm had gone completely numb - probably broken from being stepped on so many times and the warmth of his own blood soaking the part of his skull that laid against the wooden floor kept him from drifting completely out of consciousness. ...Is my head split open? he asked, too out of it to reach for the place where he thought the blood had been coming from. Trying to move his left arm Gene was met with stiff resistance and a sharp pain that told him everything he needed to know. Broken.. Struggling to shift his gaze from the puddle of his own life supply to where he last remembered the hostages to be, Gene realized that many of them had been evacuated. That's right...the hostages, the hostages! As if he'd been shocked with Raikiri, Gene felt himself jump start at the memory of what he'd come to do. His right hand lurched forward and forcefully gripped the head boss by the ankle refusing to release it.

"Hey let go!" But it was no use. During the struggle earlier they'd unwittingly removed the tag keeping Gene's chakra bound and now the head man would pay the price. While cloaked entity kept on freeing the remaining hostages, the Dragon of Konoha bore its fangs - transferring what could only be described as a strange green energy from himself to the man who's ankle had been at his mercy. But it didn't stop there, suddenly the man collapsed unable to stand. "Ugh- AHHH! What did you do?! I CAN--" Next to be gripped was the man's throat and this time, whatever happened before would leave the fella gurgling before finally dying in a painful, fit of terror. The other's looked on in astonishment as there had been no physical markings or wounds on the outside what so ever but the sight had instilled a fear in them that for a moment, had caused them all to hesitate. This was all the time Gene needed to rally and bring himself back to a stand after severing his own constraints. "Well boys, I'd say it's about time for the last dance eh? What do you say?"

Sure his arm may have been broken and there was no telling how much blood he'd lost as a result of playing the victim but - one arm and half of his mind was more than enough to deal with this group of garbage. "Don't screw with us!" Shouted one man while rushing forward, falling for Gene's provocation. As the man went to stab at Gene's chest cavity the Dragon pivoted off of his right foot and spun around the man's attack, using his right arm to hook the man's weapon holding limb and toss him over his shoulder both breaking the man's arm and removing the knife. Now armed with a new weapon, he smiled. "Not really my style but I guess it'll do." Gene remarked, critiquing the short four inch knife in comparison to his own Tanto (that he'd left at home conveniently). By now, there weren't enough guards to both keep a watch over the hostages and deal with our silver-haired friend and considering the scope of things. They seemed to have given up on watching the Hostages completely, shifting their focus strictly toward killing the bloodied Silver soldier.

If the strange savior needed anymore time this would be his best bet but even Gene couldn't deny the effects of multiple blows to the head. He'd been moving on his own but the ringing in his ears never stopped and the issue of glass being lodged into his head hadn't exactly been helping his case. Without medical attention some time soon it wouldn't matter how tough he was - a human body could only take so much.

Taiga was working rapidly, and with the last hostage he could find in the building setup to be freed, or at least able to hide or get to some semblance of safety, he decided it was time to help whoever the guy getting the fuck beat out of him was... and to fuck up whoever these punks were. It was clear since they used Fuuinjutsu they had shinobi amongst them, or were familiar with shinobi and had some means of purchasing tags... But they definetly probably were not familiar with Taiga. At once, him and all his clones sprang into action. The ground became brittle, but more importantly the technique cleared the mass beneath so the hostages could hide down there. They then hostages sank into it. The clones would then reinforce it, channeling the chakra into it.

From the wall and behind most of the men he could find, Taiga would put his hand against it and channel into it. The wall would suddenly explode, the shrapnel scattering into the men to the side. With a rapid burst of speed, Taiga would then leap out the wall and head for the group beating up the shinobi, his body turning to steel in the process. He'd need to get the guys off of whoever the poor bloke getting the hell beat to him was.

Beneath the ground, the hostages would be very afraid. Taiga's ghastly clone would now be free to speak.

"I'm rescuing you, stay safe down here. It's gunna be dangerous up top."

USEDShow
Deigenma Technique: Matter Manipulation [Shotgun]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
After phasing a body part into a source of material and channeling into it, Taiga will manipulate the source causing it to break apart into hundreds of pieces of sharp shrapnel. The pieces are around 2 inches in diameter, and are fired at a speed of 20 and strength of 20. One blast can cover a 10 meter radius area with shrapnel pieces spaced 10-20 cm's apart.

Deigenma Technique: Matter Manipulation [Harden]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Assuming Taiga has assimilated his arms into some sort of material, Taiga will channel chakra into his arms constantly (meaning he cannot do any other jutsu as long as this is active) causing even the softest of materials to gain +10 durability, effectively reinforcing them.

Deigenma Technique: Matter Manipulation [Thin Ice]
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After phasing a body part into a source of material and channeling into it, Taiga will manipulate the source material and hollow out a 3 meter radius pit beneath the surface. The top few centimeters of the pit however will be left untouched, and in fact reinforced via chakra in order to hold it's shape. This happens at a speed of 7 and the reinforced, thin surface has a strength of 3, allowing it to keep it's form but making it very, very brittle.

Talk about timing. As Gene prepared to mount what may have been his last conscious assault the shrouded stranger came out of the - wall? Yep...I've reached my limit. Thought Gene with a smile and squinted eye lids, he'd seen just about enough strange for one day. Another second later and he'd collapsed to the ground. He wasn't dead...yet.

Meanwhile the remaining guards shifted their focus to the new attacker. Most in panic and confused due to the strange beings appearance and even stranger skill set. Only one would attack Taiga head on while the remaining two acted as support (which may as well have been nothing at all since they just stood around). They'd realized that the hostages were all gone now but it'd been much too late to do anything about it now. Things just seemed to keep going from bad to worse with them.

"You're making a huge fucking mistake." Taiga growled, the dense smoke around his face masking his voice a little. With each sound puffs of smoke left the hood. "Sometimes they tell you to stand down, and no one gets hurt." He stepped forward looking to the injured shinobi who had been beat to a bloody pulp to buy time for everyone to get out. "But greedy fucks like you who will hurt people for money... nah, you're gunna get hurt." He continued to walk, despite one of the men charging straight for him.

With one of the men charging him, his arm would morph into steel and he'd pivot round and drive his fist into the mains face, feinting out of the way and hooking him. It was the famed Flying Swallow style of the Sarutobi family- and to the normal men they might not realize it, but the shinobi laying on the ground, if he knew a lot about the martial arts of the village would. Taiga was mad though. If the hook was successful he wouldn't stop there. Following his hook he'd continue pivot round, dropping into a low stance.

He was gunna break some ribs. Lunging up he'd deliver his palms into the thugs chest with as much force as he could. This way of moving and fighting would be even more recognizable to the shinobi. It almost seemed to be Gentle Fist but was more raw, wild, and forceful. This mysterious figure was a shinobi and one who clearly had trained in the martial arts.
USEDShow
Konoha no Senken • Soaring Swallow
C-Rank Maneuver Taijutsu
Inspired by the Flying Swallow styled boxing of the Sarutobi's family, when an opponent lunges or charges forward, the practitioner will pivot on the foot matching the forward foot of their opponent and spin in the opposite direction. Depending on the speed performed, this causes the opponent to miss the practitioner, who then uses the momentum from the pivot to deliver a powerful hook to the opponent, intending to blind side them with intense power.

Konoha no Senken • Palm Succession
C-Rank Maneuver Taijutsu
Required: Konoha no Senken • Tenketsu
Inspired by the Jyuuken of the Hyuuga, the practitioner drops low then lunges in with an upward palm-strike at the opponents Solar Plexus, delivered with full force, moving their entire body into it and pushing up with their leg. If the opponent has less [Stamina] than the practitioner's [Strength], they will have the breath knocked out of them, causing them to have difficulty breathing for the next post. If the opponent also has less [Strength] than the practitioner, they will be launched into the air at a rate of 1 meter per stat difference in the practitioners favor. If the opponent has at least 10 less [Strength] than the practitioner, this causes internal damage to their lungs which can be severely debilitating.

The sound was terror incarnate; a noise that one only dreamed of in nightmares where savage beatings and torture were normal, it was the sound of bone caving in on itself. The man' skull repressed on contact as the nameless Shinobi slammed into him with a metal hand and by the time his ribs were crushed the man had been unconscious on his feet - sent lobbing off to the ground and crashing into a shair, breaking it on the way down not to mention cracking his skull open exposing a deep gash that bled through the cracks of the worn wooden floorboards. Had Gene been conscious to witness such a feet, he would have whistled in praise as such a combo was nicely delivered. But the remaining two thugs didn't share that enthusiasm.

One ran for the hills leaving his partner behind in the dust. Now, it was just the nameless hero and the lone Thug shivering in his trousers. "..W-wait a minute! Ain't ya' supposed to arrest me now? I-I yield! Take me away!" The man shouted fearfully, his eyes full of trauma.

It all happened so soon. As soon as he dispatched one of the thugs the others broke. That was the thing about justice. If it got delivered, it set an example. And once justice was delivered, those doing bad things break. Beneath the smokey hood Taiga grinned wide. He knew the running would happen. He knew their spirits wouldn't outlast his. Clicking his teeth beneath the smoke he released a shrill and distorted voice.

[color=999]"Really? Gunna run?"[/color] His arm turned to stone and his hand smashed down into the ground, only for another hand to come winding up out of the service and going for the running man. If successful, the hand would take him right of his feet and slam him against a surface before locking and holding him still. Without wasted effort the second that would finish he'd turn round to the other man, bowing.

[color=999]"Gladly."[/color]

He'd perform the same move again, locking the two thugs down in place.

Deigenma Technique: Matter Manipulation [Guardian's Hand]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
Primarily meant to be used on continuous surfaces, after phasing his arm into a source of material and channeling into it, Taiga can cause a large hand (fits within 2-meter diameter) to pop out of a surface up to 25 meters away (assuming the surface is at least 25 meters long) at a speed of 20 and grab onto a target. After grabbing hold of the target the hand then locks into a rigid structure with 20 strength.

The man ran and panted but the door leading out and away from his fears never got any closer. In fact, a weight tugging angrily at his feet and lifting him off the ground served only to stamp in real time the hopelessness that he'd felt in his own heart. He knew now that there would never again be a chance for redemption; that his second chance at feeding his own family and solidifying himself as a man of the house hold would never happen, with his body crashing against the hard wood floor so too did his dreams crash.

Hopelessly.

There were no words now. He knew that whatever he had to say would have been dismissed as the mindless babble of a caught and condemned criminal; his reasoning, his circumstance and believes...none of those things mattered to the "hero" of this story. With eyes half glazed over with the kind of pain that wounded the soul and genuine disappointment the caught man moaned and a dull pain began to set in his left arm. Likely the fall had broken it and the trickles of blood leaking from his sleeve told him that somewhere there was an open wound - the least of his problems now. "Hachiko..." Whispered the man, a single tear sliding from his left eye and splashing like glass onto the floor.

This time....it was all over..
