Physical Features:
- Face/head: Nobu has short and spiked black hair, as well as oddly red eyes that give him a bit of a creepy factor. His face is without any noticeable scars, though he does have his teeth sharpened to a point.
- Body: Nobu has a very lean build and almost no detailed muscle save for his upper chest, arms and shoulders having some nice curves about them that look deceivingly muscular. But being rather vain about his physique he has very few scars on his body, most of them being too minor to really mention. However his skin itself is rather pale.
- Notable Features: Other than his eyes it is only the way Nobu carries himself that is truly notable.
Personality:
- General: In general Nobu tends to be a musing sort. Sometimes he’s quiet, sometimes he can’t seem to shut up. But even when he’s talking a lot he’s usually talking out ideas or information he finds fascinating. If he isn’t talking about it, he’s thinking about it, as his mind never seems to fully shut off. He is not particularly kind in anyway though and seems almost naive and ignorant in the way he’ll pass by people who are suffering. His truly malicious side only really comes out in his jutsu useage.
- Hopes/Dreams: Being a man who lives entirely in the moment, Nobu has no long term hopes and dreams. These things change on a whim and can be as simple as ‘I want to try a new sushi today’ to something as complex as ‘How do I get this particular person to go mad using only my jutsu?’
- Fears: As a man who dabbles so heavily in the manipulation of the mind, ironically Nobu fears the loss of his own mind.
- Combat Mentality: Nobu relies almost entirely on his Genjutsu to take down any opponent. He enjoys every fight so much he can get downright giddy. If he thinks he is going to lose a fight, he will not hesitate to run.

Having devoted his life to mastering the art of genjutsu, Nobu is classified as a Genjutsu Specialist. Genjutsu specialist are able to devote a total of 10 concentrations to genjutsu, unlike most people who are capped at 8. However, they are only able to devote a max of 5 concentrations to taijutsu, and a max of 5 concentrations to ninjutsu. As a Genjutsu Specialist, Nobu is able to utilize genjutsu concentrations reserved for specialists, and is able to enter the God Tier [45+] on select stats, and meaning as a specialist they can select stats to break into the God tier. These stats are Genjutsu, Speed, Control, & Instinct.
”He was such a curious child…”---- Elderly Neighbor, Name Redacted Hideyoshi Nobu grew up in a fairly well rounded family. His father was a merchant within Kiri, running more than one stand in the market and a small bookstore. It didn’t make him overly rich, but it was a modest enough income that the boy never wanted for anything. His mother ran a restaurant she had inherited from her father and was known to be a wonderful cook and a beautiful woman. Neither were shinobi but both had learned how to get along in the village well enough to be regarded rather highly. The family spent much of their time catering to the Karagata of course, needing the best imports they could get their hands on for their business. It was that family that first saw young Nobu’s curiosity for what it was. He would constantly ask questions, sometimes seen following members of the family along, begging to know more of what they did, and of chakra and anything else they would tell him. One member in that family in particular was intrigued by the boy’s incessant curiosity and chose to sponsor him to the academy.
”His obsession didn’t seem so strange. Every child comes to us and has a particular talent… so it didn’t seem so odd then.”
----- Chunin Shinobi, Academy Instructor The Academy was the first time Nobu saw and learned Genjutsu himself. Though he would graduate by the age of ten with a fairly well rounded repertoire, it was always genjutsu that he seemed to be obsessed with. When he exhausted his instructors as resources he turned to scrolls, and to books in his father’s store. He sought out everything he could on the subject.
As a genin his peers sometimes noticed he seemed to be focusing on this particular discipline, but to his parents it went almost completely unnoticed. For it was at this time in Nobu’s life that his baby sister was born, a “happy oops” by this mother’s account. So enthralled with the baby were they that they never noticed Nobu’s indifference towards the child, or annoyance when she cried or fussed. What they did see they dismissed as normal.
”He didn’t react to it at all. He didn’t even seem pleased by his success.”
----- Chunin Exam Proctor/Observer By the age of fourteen Nobu was able to attempt his chunin fight for the first time. But it wasn’t until his third attempt at the age of sixteen that he finally passed. He fought hard but being so physically weaker than his counterparts he never seemed quite ready for the fights. Yet on his third, and he was told final regardless of results, attempt he won almost with ease. His opponent never even had a chance to rush him, or so rumor said. His opponent seemed completely enthralled and distracted, eyes wide as if watching a show, before falling into useless unconsciousness. Nobu didn’t even smile as he succeeded but rather seemed almost bored with his success, even as he was congratulated. He didn’t even tell his parents until as long as a week after the fact.
”He always looked bored. Not even like a kid bored, just… as if everything felt like a nail being shoved into his skull. I guess that’s when he started to seem very odd.”
----- Jounin Shinobi, Unnamed Nobu spent so much of his time alone, perfecting his jutsu, learning as much as he could about his own physical limitations. He seemed lost in thought and boredom at a near constant. Many began to question if he even trained anymore, but of course that was proven wrong at every turn. Any time a mission came his way, he completed it. More and more he was paired with taijutsu based partners and sent on more and more missions. It was after the slaughter of two missing ninja that he was finally promoted to Special Jounin. But it was there that things began to take a slower turn. He took maybe a mission a month, and many began to question his commitment. He was often seen sitting in his mother’s restaurant, just staring at his own baby sister as she followed their mother around, and the look on his face was often described as ‘blank’.
”The horrors they must have scene… I can’t even imagine… what he did to them…” It was the day he left that he was proclaimed an A Rank threat. Exactly how he escaped would take a long time to discover, but one day it was found that none of his father’s market stalls were opened, his store wasn’t opened, and his mother’s restaurant was never opened for the day. By the mid-afternoon someone went to their home to check on them and found the scene of chaos and death. His parents were seated on the couch in the living room, expressions of horror spread across their faces. His little sister was spread across the living room in unspeakable violence that left even the shinobi sent to inspect the scene more than a little ill. The man himself was gone. Upon inspection it was found he had used his own genjutsu to make his way out of Kiri. A combination of things that many assumed would have left him completely exhausted, but using his father’s merchant contacts had made it just barely feasible. Next to no one knows exactly why he left, or why he destroyed his own family on the way out. Most just attribute it to an extreme boredom, or a fascination with the unspeakable that left his morals in the dirt… if he ever truly had morals to begin with.

After performing the necessary hand seals, any victim that sees the user preforming the hand seals will be induced under the genjutsu. This causes the target to begin to smell rotting flesh and decaying bodies. The jutsu can cause nausea and vomiting from the target, depending on how sensitive their sense of smell is. The smell of the dead can also cause some mental stress on the target. This genjutsu lasts for three (3) posts.

This is a genjutsu technique which can be used in quite a few ways. The user forms a hand seal, and as long as the opponent(s) see it, then the genjutsu will begin. The user and the opponent(s) will both light on fire and start to burn, from the feet up to the head, in the opponent's mind. The opponent will normally start to panic and try to get rid of the fire, especially since they feel as if they were in actual pain. This genjutsu lasts for 4 posts and will not appear to be able to be extinguished, no matter what the victim does. The illusion is very static, in the sense that it doesn't change with the environment, it merely creates an illusory flame and pain.

The user channels his chakra, and then locks eyes with the target to trap the target in the genjutsu. For the next 10 posts, any pain that the target feels as if nothing really happened, effectively lessening all pain and nerve responses. The target would still be damaged, but any damage done to them would feel as though it hadn't happened, and as such they will usually overestimate their own stamina.

After channeling their chakra, the user will place a hand on their target, initiating this overlay. The overlay lasts for 4 posts, transporting them to an open field. The sky is a mix between day and night, with both the sun, and stars visible in the sky. The user and his target will be sitting in the field, cross legged, where they can talk. Jutsu will fail, they have no weapons on their person, and all their physical stats are set to 5, making combat nearly impossible.

The user channels the necessary chakra, and then breaths out, expelling their breath onto their target. If successful, a 4 post long genjutsu will begin on the target. Over the course of the genjutsu, the target won't be able to feel any wind, and if it's raining, the rain will appear and feel like a light drizzle, regardless of how intense it really it. The target will also feel a sense of calm course through their body, as if all their senses have been slightly dulled, usually causing them to relax, be less stressed, and less inclined to combat. Originally created for the use of execution in combative prisoners, the technique now proves to be an effective method in combat to regain control of the battle field.

This is a Genjutsu technique that allows the caster to place a large body of people into an unconscious state by channeling the appropriate chakra and whistling loudly. Once the targets hear the whistle, they will see feathers falling down, and, if the opponent realizes this is a genjutsu, they just need a genjutsu stat of 10 to break out of it. If they don't break out of the genjutsu, the target will fall asleep at the end of that post.

S-Ranked Overlay Genjutsu
The user will channel chakra, then touch their target on the forehead. If successful, the target will be transported into an empty world, their hands and feet bound to the ground with shackles that they can't seem to break no matter how much they resist. The user will then appear in front of them, and is able to attack and torment the target however they see fit. While the genjutsu only lasts for about 10 minutes (5 posts) for the user, every second feels like an hour to target, making the genjutsu feel like it lasts for 600 hours. Any weapons or objects the user needs will appear from no where for their use.

The user can determine who has more chakra strength than others, allowing them to pick out possible risks. This technique is not very reliable as a determining factor, however.

As sanitation cannot always be guaranteed in field operations, this technique provides a quick substitute to traditional sterilization methods. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will channel the chakra throughout his/her upper body (torso, arms, hands, face). This chakra will chew away at harmful bacteria and other foreign bodies on the skin, cleansing it until it is thoroughly sterile, and can be spread to objects, most commonly surgical tools. Of course, this takes both concentration and time, and in order to sterilize the entire upper body, it will take a duration of one (1) post. Users of this technique can also choose to sterilize certain parts of their upper body or the wounds of another person instead for a lesser concentration period. Once they are sanitized, they remain this way until coming in contact with more bacteria.

Simple in its form yet highly effective in practice, the *[Iijutsu • Oxygen Flow] technique allows its users to clear obstructed airways, to perform less extensive CPR, and to give cells the oxygen they crave. After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will place both over the target's chest (through the back works as well). By allowing the chakra to be channeled throughout the lungs and up through the air ways, any unseen, solid or liquid obstructions will be cleared from these passages and ejected through the mouth, allowing the patient to breathe more easily. Additionally, the hands can be placed over the heart to help oxygenate the body's cells. In this instance, users must be much more careful, as over-oxygenating cells can cause more harm than good. This technique takes the entirety of one post to perform.

This highly useful field technique is applied to bleeding wounds to help encourage the coagulation of the blood. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them over the bleeding wound and begin to channel chakra through it. The chakra will began to thicken the blood, causing it to clot. Wounds must be dealt with one at a time, and the number of wounds that can be tended to within the three (3) posts that this technique lasts depends on their size. Small wounds take very little time to clot, while moderate wounds take one (1) post of concentration to clot, and large wounds take two (2) posts to clot. Although this technique stops the bleeding, the wound remains vulnerable and will require further care after this has been performed.

Typically used to make the autopsy process smoother, the *[Iijutsu • Skin Separation] technique separates the skin of the corpse from the underlying muscle. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will slowly move them over the desired area, usually holding them about an inch away from the body itself. As the chakra is channeled through the flesh, it will slowly sink to the final layer of the skin and begin to form a new layer between the skin and the muscle beneath. After this layer has fully formed, the chakra will stay there for four (4) posts, allowing the user to easily separate the flesh and muscle. This non-combat technique cannot be used on living beings as the postmortem physiology is different from that of a living creature.

A relatively simple and handy technique to have at hand, *[Iijutsu • Burn Ointment Technique] is used to alleviate pain caused by burn wounds. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them above the burn wound. As the chakra is channeled into and around the burn, it cools the area and works to prevent harmful, scar-producing blistering in the affected area. To provide this soothing relief to small areas of first degree burns, it's fairly quick to do. For small areas of second degree burns, it takes one (1) post of concentration to achieve the same effects. This technique is ineffective when applied to larger areas or burns worse than second degree.

Objects used for the bandage technique are automatically sterilized in the process. These bandages drain a minuscule amount of chakra from the person it is attatched to in order to keep them stuck on, theoretically, ad-infinitum, and can be cancelled at any time by the user with a single handseal. While not as effective at stopping bleeding as the [Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching] technique, they hold on much better in the case that strenuous movement is necessary.
