Personality: When not forced into submission by Hajime's synch, one of the spirits will rise to the top and dominate the rest, changing the personality to whatever the wisp's personality is. Personalities are very basic supersets of human emotions, like michevious or curious.

The Shadow King is an oddity- a swarm of many small black spirits that form together an often take the form of one being. The Shadow King has an advanced telepathy potential enable the being when as one to cast Genjutsu. Potential ages old, little is known about the swarm but legends often spoke of the weak little spirits who would trick those lost in the forest into it's trap... and leave nothing but squeaky clean bones when it was finished with the lost. In the legendary cannon, this added yet another spirit to their army.

During his reclusive time after departing from the village, Hajime came into contact with The Shadow King in the forest of Tea Country. Utilizing his dead wood he was able to deplete their stamina, bringing them to a halt and protecting himself from their powers. Slowly, he eased off and studied them, at one point noticing that one spirit was able to take control of the others- as if it lead the swarm. After observing this phenomena, Hajime came to understand that one spirit would "bubble" to the top, and if he could replicate that, he too could take control of the swarm in a similar manner, exerting his power over the group to warp them to his will, much as the spirits tended to do to each other.

In doing so, Hajime made The Shadow King is pawn. Since then, he has used The Shadow King to commit murder without ever showing his hand, and for many other dark deeds.

Also, I find the ability questionable but that's another thing altogether.

• I know it is a swarm. It is still a spirit type swarm, which means he needs to be able to summon it. So he needs spiritualism technique.

• I agree with Takumi about that not being a naturally swarming entity. If Niro is okay with it then that's fine.

• Remove the [/me] tag at the top and replace it with a link to your profile using url tags. You still haven't done that.

• That is a paid ability. You cannot have that at start up.

Why is it a paid ability? Not saying your wrong, asking you for clarification. The whole paid ability thing is after my time.

The ability essentially grants the swarm multiple concentrations, and bypasses the specialization locks, therefore it falls under a paid ability.

As far as naturally forming, apart from the fact it's been a rule as long as I remember, a swarm by definition should be much more than two.

It seems you want the benefits of a swarm without following any of the rules for it. But, I'm not a mod so take my opinion with a grain of salt. However, the info I gave on paid abilities should be correct.

If I took off the parts that break spec rules, could it be started with? I see that as "paid ability" but plenty of abilities grant multiple concs without needing a paid ability.

It is more than two. That's literally just aesthetic. A swarm of bugs could all fly cloe and link up to make a fist or whatever shape you want (which is whats happening)

The part of the ability that makes it paid is that you can use overlay and A+ warp, which is restricted to gen spec. Also, does the ability allow you to not need the sight/touch initiators? I can't tell. If so, then removing those parts would leave you with not being able to use genjutsu at all yet, so...yeah, you could start with that.

I can get the spec locked parts, which I can undo, but an ability that gives concentrations in of itself should not be a paid ability. That's just stupid.

So I can knock of the Warp/Overlay and the Spec stuff for now, and keep the Initiates- I think that's more than fair enough. Companions get an ability slot and I don't get why there would be a punishment for using it? Or a restriction that would prevent it.

In general you can't have concentrations without actually having the concentrations, so yeah that would be a paid ability because you're getting access to something you normally can't get. As for the ability slot, you're not being punished or prevented from using it? You just can't ever have a paid ability at registration. So if you still want the initiates without taking up the concs, that's still a paid ability.

Ngl I'm very confused with your ability if you're planning on taking Evolve and getting this companion Gen spec'd since that gives you access to Overlay and A/S custom Warp.

It'd unlock genjutsu conc slots as you raise your Sync since Sync = Gen. You'd get a total of 4 concs slots which you could fill with Overlay/Warp/Touch/Sight without using an Ability slot.

Plus if this Ability is giving you concs without having to list them, it's a paid ability and can't be started with.
