[House] Takagari

Post by Waterz » Thu May 28, 2020 10:03 pm

Takagari

[Family Crest if Applicable]

General Information Type: House
Village: Sunagakure no Sato
Size: Medium, 1 Head Family and 11 branches
Traits: Takagari family members have bright multicolored hair styles. As a custom these hairstyles are highly stylized and primed, but cut short so that it does not extend to the shoulders.
Traditions: When a child is born in the House, an egg is chosen from the House’s roost and places it with the child. The egg is supplied with chakra by the mother everyday, letting it grow stronger and over a longer period. The bird will grow alongside the child in real time. Children are named after either Objects in the Sky, Weather, or Birds or they are the child of two Families of Suna, they will have a second name based on the Desert.
Influence: The Takagari manage the Trained Falcons that the Village uses for long distance communications.
History The Takagari Family started back when they were still nomadic desert wanderers. Shortly after the Founding of Sunagakure, they were led to the Fledgling village by the vultures in the sky. They have always lived with the birds and treated them like family. They offered their services as bird tamers in service to the community.

Their birds hunted for protein in lean times and kept a watch out for sandstorms to give the residents enough time to safely and calmly shelter in place. As the ranks of Shinobi started to expand, their own children also took notice. Many of them failed at first because of their dependency with their Feathered brethren. But during the scorpion infestation, the teamwork between the two was especially on display as they cleaned out the vast majority of them. The next wave of Shinobi included Bird tamers. With no Family name before this, they took the title of Takagari and used that.

As the birds became more used in shinobi applications, The houses were formed. And over time, the houses became as individual as the shinobi under the roofs. Individuality was one of the key aspects for the family.

The motto of “The Intersection of two wishes. The Effort of Two” is taught to all their children. This highlights that the Human and the Bird both have needs and wants, but to obtain these goals the two individuals must put forth a singular effort to accomplish them.

Shinobi Information Definitions:
The FlockShow
Takagari don’t refer to themselves as a family amongst each other, rather they are a flock of individuals. The birds, though they may be of different species are all treated at the same level as the Shinobi they are partnered with. The Dynamic between partners can be closer to Brother and sister than of friends.
Flock HierarchyShow
  • House 1 is known as the Head of the Family. They make the executive decisions for the family at large and are the most diplomatic. But that doesn’t mean they are the top of everything. The Flock persist because of the strength of all of its members.
  • House 2 is the House of Rituals. Even for the other two totems, they perform the totemic rituals and oversee the Nesting of all Takagari children.
  • House 3 is the primary Training House for the Family. Filled with instructors and specialists, Takagari can always find someone to help within their halls.
  • House 4 takes care of the Falcons for Sunagakure. The center of their actual household holds the roost where all the eggs are stored and cared for.
  • House 5 are the Educators. They handle most of the academic work of their children before the academy.
  • House 6 are referred to as the Nest Builders. Whenever a new family is created, they will construct a household for their small nest.
  • House 7 are the Gatherers. The biggest room in their homes is the kitchen, where they prepare all the meals for the entire family. They are not servants, but have a joy of cooking and tend to prepare elaborate meals, especially for those carrying a child.
  • House 8 is the House of the Advisors. Sometimes referred to as the Owls, they tend to live the longest and will answer any questions to the curious that does not pertain to Training or Academics.
  • House 9 tends to the crops on their lands. Working with the Naegi, they supply protective crows in return for cultivated plants.
  • House 10 is in control of the finances. The paychecks of the Shinobi and merchants are sent to them first. Taxes, bills, and expenses are taken out and then the shinobi are handed two purses. One for the Human and one for the Bird. Equal cut. This process pays for all their needs, food, clothing, shelter, water, and tools. So the purses they obtain are for wants.
  • House 11 is the artist. They are known for their exceptionally flamboyant hairstyles, but they also take care of the hair for all members of the family. Many also work in barber shops for the citizens of Sunagakure, tending to their locks just as if they were family, but for coins.
  • House 12 is the merchants. They operate stalls through Sunagakure and also procure supplies and contracts for the Flock.
TotemsShow
Three specific Breeds of Birds symbolize the bond they have between them. The Falcon, The Peacock, and the Condor. The individual houses are represented by the Clan’s crest on a silhouette of the Totem Bird with slight variations. Houses 1, 4, 7, and 10 have the Taka Totem. 2,5,8, and 11 have the Kujaku Totem, and 3,6,9, and 12 have the Condor Totem. The main difference between the Houses is how the head is pointed. 1, 2, and 3 point upward, 4, 5, and 6 point downward. 7, 8, and ,9 point to the left, and 10, 11, and 12 point to the right.
TakaShow
Shinobi who are represented by the Falcon Totem undergo training and rituals to enhance their eyesight. Their iris is grown to take over their entire sclera and the pupil grows to the size of the former iris. This just creates the medium through which the Falcon Eyes Jutsu may be used
KujakuShow
Shinobi who are represented by the Peacock Totem typically have eyes encompassing the entire color spectrum. Many of the Peacock techniques are Genjutsu. They also are typically the most primed and fashionable of the Flock.
CondorShow
Shinobi who are represented by the Condor Totem are the most subdued in appearance, but have powerful legs as well as an implanted razor claw on the heel. Many of them specialize in Taijutsu and utilize strong kicks.
Avian LongevityShow
While Bird raising is not unique to the Takagari Family, the motherly ritual referred to as Nesting is, as it allows the Takagari child and Bird to grow up together at the same rate. This also leads to the Bird as having the same Chakra Affinity as the mother. Also the bird, regardless of species, will maintain the same growth rate as the child. For example. A Brown Falcon normally would reach a maximum size of 20 inches, but a Takagari Brown Falcon Partner by the time they reach the age of 16 will stop growing at 50 inches. To the Human partner, they may never notice the Bird is any bigger.
AffinitiesShow
Some of the jutsus taught by the Takagari utilize the natural affinity of the Human or Bird. The bird develops the Chakra Affinity of the mother. But the Human may develop a whole different affinity. In some cases, They can use these affinities in conjunction. For instance a Bird with a Fuuton Cutting Primary and a Human with a Raiton Shocking Primary could apply both to a technique to develop a cutting technique that spreads out. This is not a proper Fusion. Just a coordination between two elements.
Household CelebrationsShow
Roost Eve and Day: (The End of October) Celebrating the Last day of their family's nomadic journey, the Entire Flock gathers together in Costumes at the central compound for an all night feast loaded with foods that would not be on any proper ninja's diet. Festivities last until the sun rise. This is Roost Eve. Roost day starts as the sun rises. Every member of the Flock immediately sets about on their hardest day of work all year. Many of their shinobi accept mission just before the Evening so they can leave first thing in the morning. Roost day gives the Flock a reminder of the work they had to put in to obtain this spot.

Birthdays: Birthdays are an extremely big deal. Not only for the individual, but for everyone of that household. From the time that individual wakes up in the morning to the time they lay down to rest, the first time any member of the Flock sees them, they are greeted with as strong a hug as possible. Sometimes, group hugs happen in normally uneventful moments. This is an old tradition from their nomadic days that remind the individuals that the entire flock will always be connected.

The Circling: This is a celebration no member of the Flock ever wants to participate in. If a member of the Flock actively turns against Sunagakure, the Flock will take matters into it's own hands. But like everything else in the family, this is as loud and flamboyant as possible. Lead by the Houses' Leader, once the missing-nin is located, they are surrounded by banners. Festival drums fill the air. A member of Each House will then step forward. And share loudly the great memories they once had with the Missing-nin. Once the memories are shared, the birds will circle over head. This is indication that at least one person is about to die. This celebration has only been held twice in the House's History. Once when Takagari Sora left with a Sand Falcon egg that she was going to give to Iwa, and the other time when Takagari Tsuna killed everyone in a small village near the Fire Border.

Requirements: Must have a bird companion of equal rank. Must have the Jutsu associated with your house.

Clan Jutsu
Required JutsuShow
Must get these once you cna obtain the Ranked Jutsu

Chakra Aura
E-Ranked Ninjutsu
Forcing their chakra into their core, the Takagari will crate a field of visible chakra around them that reacts to their affinity. This has no power, but serves as an indication of Primary Affinity and training for [Chakra Pool]

Sibling Unison
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
This Technique utilizes both the Human and Bird Siblings forcing their chakra together. The chakras create an undulating mass of Chakra that has both primary Affinities, but no Strength or Speed. The Strength of the Passives are based on the individual [Chakra Pool] of the Supplier. This technique is primarily used to train other Unison Techniques.
Totem Jutsu. Must have oneShow
Falcon Eyes
D-Ranked Doujutsu Ninjutsu
Requirements: Taka Totem, Cannot have Plume Gaze or Talon Kick
The rituals performed by elder members of the clan on this user enables the Takagari to see with the Eyes of a falcon. While their eyes constantly look the same, activating this jutsu allows them to see 18 times further away. They can hold the bird hand seal to maintain this jutsu for more than one post. However like a falcon’s, their eyes are locked straight forward. To turn their vision, they must turn their heads.

Plume Gaze
D-Ranked Sight Illusion Genjutsu
Requirements: Kujaku Totem, Cannot have Falcon Eyes or Talon Kick
After completing a series of hand seals with the bird sign, the user will lock their all-colored eyes with a target’s. Once bilateral eye contact is made, all the colors the target sees will turn extremely bright for two posts. These bright colors leave a trail like a wake in the water when something moves.

Talon Kick
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requirements: Condor Totem, Cannot have Falcon Eyes or Plume Gaze
A simple spinning heel kick that, when executed with the Added heel Talon from the totem, causes a sword like gash where it strikes.
NinjutsuShow
Requires: [Raw Power] Ninjutsu Concentration
Raw Power:
The shinobi is trained in releasing Chakra from their tenketsu in massive quantities. They do not use hand seals or channeling to utilize these techniques, but they are a constant drain on the system. They use a rank higher worth of Chakra to use and can only learn the techniques of their Primary Affinity. They utilize the Chakra Pool for their Strength and Speed. Only one can be active at a time.
Raiton Chakra Bomb
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Requires: Only Takagari Bird can Learn, Raiton Primary
This technique allows the Bird Companion to engulf their body in the Shocking passive Raiton and dive bomb a target. This uses the Bird’s [Chakra Pool] for strength.

Katon Chakra Bomb
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Requires: Only Takagari Bird can Learn, Katon Primary
This technique allows the Bird Companion to engulf their body in the Ignition passive Katon and dive bomb a target. This uses the Bird’s [Chakra Pool] for strength.

Raiton Chakra Wings
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
Forcing their raw Power through their arms, the Takagari will coat them in Raiton chakra forming a pair of wings. This applies the Element’s Shocking Passive to all arm based strikes for the next [Chakra Pool] Post. This is a raw push of power that does not use refined Chakra control.

Fuuton Chakra Wings
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
Forcing their raw Power through their arms, the Takagari will coat them in Fuuton Chakra forming a pair of wings. This applies the Element’s Cutting Passive to all arm based strikes for the next [Chakra Pool] Post. This is a raw push of power that does not use refined Chakra control.

Flight of the Condor
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
After forcing chakra into their knees, the Takagari will form a perch on their shoulders for their Bird Partner. After they dock, the user will burst out the chakra to jump [Chakra Pool] Meters straight up or [⅔ Chakra Pool] as a front flip or back flip with a single rotation. The bird ensures stability during the “flight”

Raiton Chakra Bird
B-Ranked Ninjutsu, Raiton Primary Affinity
Forcing their raw power into thier chest and arms, they will create a bird like effigy of Raition Chakra that moves at [Chakra Pool] Speed and 1/2 [Chakra Pool] Strength. After it is formed, the user can control it up to 30 meters away until it hits the target. The effigy has a wings span the same height as the user.

Katon + Raiton Chakra Disc
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Requires: Takagari Combination, One member with Katon Primary, One member with Raiton Primary, Sibling Unison
After forcing their chakra from their hand/claw at each other, they will form a disc [Both Chakra Pool] cm in diameter over the Human's hand that is a mixture of Raiton and Katon, but is not a true fusion. The Human will then throw it at [Speed] and [Strength]. Upon impact of any kind, the disc will enlarge and to two meters in diameter. This uses both the Ignite and Shocking Passives based on the individual supplier's [Chakra Pool]

Sand Angel Form
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
After pushing their Raw Power through their entire body, the user will clap their hands above their head, just as their Bird Companion is over their head so their talons tough the hands. The User will then appear from a cloud of feathers with two wings on their back. Total wingspan equal to twice their height. Their feet change into talons. All aesthetics of the bird are transferred for the avian parts. For [Chakra Pooll/5] Post, the user may utilize any technique that the Bird companion could normally do. Their primary Affinity for any jutsu that requires it is considered both, but does not fuse them. They are able to fly while in this form, reaching a maximum height of 30 m.

Raiton Chakra Dive
S-Ranked Nintaijutsu
Requires: Mighty Fall, Raiton Primary Affinity
While ascending with the target, the user can force chakra into their wings, just before letting go. As they drop, the user can get behind them and Wrap their arms, legs and wings around the target and begin spinning head first to the ground. As they do, the Raiton is applied around the target, turning them into an Shocking Elemental weapon on impact.
TaijutsuShow
Takagari Taijutsu Require the [Acrobatics] and [Close Quarters Combat] Concentration

Dive Kick
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Takagari are trained to utilize elevation and gravity in combat. They will often try to find the high ground and leap from it to gather as much power on their strikes as possible. This may make their attacks easier to read, but with proper planning a surprise attack is not out of the question. They gain a +1 Strength to attacks when they gain an elevation advantage.

Flying Drag
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requires: Takagari Bird Companion
The Bird Companion will fly directly over the targets head and grab at their soldiers or something near or above head level that their talons can wrap around. They will pull this as they continue flying to attempt to trip the target, possibly forcing them onto their back.

Twin Strikes
C-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
Requirements: Must be learned by Both human and Bird Takgari
The siblings have practiced and honed their skills in order to strike in unison from different angles on one target. The human may go low for the legs while the Bird may strike for the back of the head. Their tandem cuts off the easiest possible avoidance

Crushing Claws
C-Ranked Nintaijutsu Stance
The Takagari mimics the talons of the Bird by pressing their middle and ring fingers together and channeling chakra to their hands. These form a set of talons which the shinobi can use as a crushing piercing grip or to slash at an opponent. These claws use the User's strength but allows the user to slash or pierce with their bare hands.

Crushing Crash
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requires: Dive Kick, Sand Angel Form
While in Sand Angel form, the user uses an elevated position to fall towards a target feet first. Their talons grasp around the target and clench down as the weight pushes down on the target.

Kunishige Kick
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requires: Dive Kick, Flight of the Condor
Using the momentum of the diagonal leap backwards, the user will begin a quick back flip in the air at a high rate of speed and deliver an inverted axe kick to the opponent. This technique is named after the Takagari who created it five generations ago.

Mighty Fall
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requires: Sand Angel Form
While in Sand Angel form, the user will drag the target as high as they can and then just let go, letting gravity do the dirty work. Even if the target would be able to do something about the fall, this puts them in a position where the Flying Takagari can press a full advantage.

Overall this is all quite messy and a tad confusing to understand, it’s a lot of information all to process.

Totems – I don’t see any ability for this dojutsu. Specially as these eyes work directly with the bird companion.

All of your Taijutsu need concentrations, such as [Acrobatics] or [Rigid Body] etc

Talon Kick < For a human to physically cut someone with their foot, like a sword. This is on heavenly tai level and needs a strength req and needs to be higher ranked.

A Peacock like plume of [Chakra Pool] < Why is Chakra Pool here?

Chakra Bomb < Needs to be specific what element, perhaps make individual ones.

Chakra Wings < Again, specific element needed. And why is [Chakra Pool] here.

Sand Angel From < Do you mean Form? For [Control] Post? < What does this mean?

Chakra Dive < Again needs to be separated for elements.

Two in the Bush < How long does this last for?

Feather Swirl < What initiates the genjutsu here? It’s confusing

Anyone who hears this will see the bird as the Human half. < What does this mean? < How long does this last? Needs a post count.

Dive Kick < ‘gather as much power on their strikes as possible’ < Does this create a strength boost?

Crushing Claws < How strong are these talons? Do they perform cuts and slash like a sword would?

Mighty Fall < Flight has a maximum of 30 Meters. So dropping them wouldn't do much if at all.

Okay, so, I took a look at this... and I'm gonna be honest, I think you're probably trying to do too many things at once here. I'm one of the Suna co-OOCs, so basically, aside from system checks, we have to make sure that the house fits in the village. While the idea of a house that uses hunting birds is absolutely not an issue, I wanna help try to fit what you're trying to do into the system. So, I have a really basic question to start this off:

What are you trying to do with this house? What's the end goal? Do you want them to be similar to the Inuzuka where they coordinate with their bird companion to do taijutsu? Are you trying to do more ninjutsu based things, like being able to link your senses to your bird companion? It seems like you're trying to do everything all at once, and usually houses/clans need to have a more specific focus, but I wanna help you stick as close to the original concept as possible.

The Takagari work as a Flock, utilizing the best from each individual. And they include the Birds as Individuals, on equal footing with their Human Siblings. The Inuzuka was a primary Inspiration for how they work in tandem with the birds, but I wanted to build something that emphasized how tight the family is. The Ninjutsu involved was originally designed to be just forceful expulsions of chakra that molded around their Primary Affinity, and would work off the amount of chakra they had rather than how well they could control and manipulate it. It also has a few jutsu that are taught to the Bird, not the Human, Like Chakra Bomb and the Taijutsu Discipline Twin Strikes had to be taught to both Human and Bird.

The Totems are a way of connecting with their nomadic routes and what the individual sees as the Best quality for a bird to possess. Falcon is more Skillfull and Swift. Peacocks are extravagent and exert thier presence. Condors are Powerful and Fierce. This in no way is meant to say they can only choose a Falcon, Peacock, or Condor. A Falcon Takagari could have a hummingbird Sibling and focus on ninjutsu.

As far as the different houses having different functions, I aimed for the kind of feel of an Aviary in a zoo. As you walk through, you may see a vulture in a tree, Ducks crossing the walk way, and and owl sleeping in a house. This would also be how the compound would actually feel. The First house is where everyone has to go around or through. The other houses are set up as needed for thier contribution to the Flock.

As far as the Birds go, they would breed two types. Takagari and Suna. Takagari Birds are those that are the Siblings for every Born Takagari. The nesting process link their growth rates and lifespans. It also gives the bird a bit more personality and intellegence than your standard bird. Suna Bird are breed and trained for very specific task. Such as Crop tending, Messangers, and watch. Suna Birds are also given to high profile Wind Country individuals. They are slightly more intelligent from your average bird, but maintain the usual lifespan and sizing.

As far as the relationships between Human and Bird Siblings, it is just that. They have an uncanny understanding of each other, but neither has to listen to the other. You might see a bird and human child getting into fights, but after this release of anger they go back to playing together. There might be a Bird who is overprotective of the human. Anything that may come up in human siblings, can occur with the Bird and Human. Definitly trying to make that part where future Takagari players don't just make a vanilla bird for thier ninja to be powerful. But a whole second character to express and even disagree with.

Alright, let me rephrase.

Whatever you wanna do with their culture is fine. I need to know strategically what you want this clan to do. Like, what do you want their jutsu to do? I know they’re inspired off of the Inuzuka, which is fine, but I need to know how they’re supposed to fight/fit into the actual system. Right now, as I mentioned before, it seems you’re trying to do everything at once, and it’s not very cohesive from a tactical standpoint.

What is the theme specifically? This is still not very cohesive. It seems like the only real theme is that they have bird companions.

For instance, the E rank that they're required to have doesn't do anything. Nothing else on the app even utilizes it, and no other tech builds on it. It's only use is that it tells what their affinity is, which seems like a waste of jutsu and points.

The Sibling Unison technique "combines their chakra," but nowhere else do you have any sibling unison techniques, so anyone else who looks at this house with intentions to join have no indication of what else you can use that for other than "train other techniques." Again, having a jutsu like this seems like a waste, especially when you don't say or provide examples of what it can be used for at higher ranks.

The genjutsu that the peacock groups use, that's the only genjutsu on the entire app. So that means there is a whole group that you haven't developed jutsu-wise at all, so I'm not sure why you're including it at all.

I suggest you get with Truth and Kab on the discord somehow, because it's feeling like a WIP and I think it should be removed from registration until they work with you. You should probably just make one fleshed out character, maybe in each totem, you can see what it is you want each one to do. Every house type needs to be equally fleshed out, and honestly you have so much loaded into the houses alone that I don't think that's possible without making an overwhelming app.

The theme is Raw Power of Chakra and Synergy with their Sibling. Seven out of 9 of the Ninjutsus Utilize Chakra Pool instead fo Control as they just push their Chakra into these shapes.

As for the part of nothing else using it I would like to direct your attention to
Quote:
There are 15 different possible combinations. If I need to I will make at least one of each combination
I will update this weekend with 29 additional Jutsu (14 Unison Jutsu and 15 Genjutsu) which I feel will lock down future players to a very specific style contrary to the attitude behind the house dedication to Individuality.

That jutsu has to have reduced passives. It can’t have full strength passives because it’s a combination.

Again, that’s not really a theme. Sure, they are using birds to do jutsu with, that’s cool. But both the OOCs for Suna and me agree that it’s not narrowed down enough. I’m not saying you need those 29 extra jutsu. I’m saying that you have singular jutsu that aren’t expanded upon at all. To be honest you don’t need 29 jutsu in order to display what’s possible with this house. There does not seem to be a style other than “they use jutsu together” and that is where the problem lies.

There is also issue with the history as well. Kabu would prefer if this is a newer clan rather than being older and integral to nearly every aspect of village life.

This house needs a lot of work and needs to be dialed down and narrowed down. What you have currently is too broad. When Tydie was making his spider clan in Konoha, he also had different groups with different specialties; there was a group that did tai, a group that did gen, and a group that did nin -and it was too much. This is running into the same problem. So you will need to pick a which general skill you want them to have.

This needs to be moved to WIP.
