HATOZOTA, NASKA
TROUBLE
phpBB [video]

["Reach for it! Nothing is impossible!"]

General Information Age: 18
Gender: Male
Height: 5' 11''
Weight: 200 lbs.
Physical Features:
wwwNaska's black hair is short on the sides, trimmed so it is not touching his ear, and about an inch above his earlobe it is thicker. The thicker hair is normally pulled back and tied into a knot. His beard, which could be described as a bit more then some scruff, wraps around his chin and top lip. His blue eyes always seem to look just slightly exhausted. Naska is a tall six foot man with an athletic frame. He isn't overly muscular due to him usually focusing on endurance training over strength training. Not to say he is not strong, the strength training he does perform does give him a bit of bulk but his body is not the type to get big. Naska at this point does not have any notable features or tattoos.

Clothing/Accessories:
wwwNaska wears his headband centered over his forehead with the cloth covering from the tip of his hairline to just above his eyebrow. Wears a chest rig that has a insert for a chest plate on the rear and front of his chest, a pouch on the front with his "O+" blood-type shown, that is also able to add pouches if desired. Additionally, on the back of the rig is a toolkit that is positioned horizontally. Under the chest rig is a black form fitting shirt. His pants are slightly baggy with a tool holster that has two kunai pouches on his right thigh. Lastly, the legs below the knee are cinched tight into his shoes.

Personality:
wwwNaska for the most part has a calm demeanor. He would rather listen then be at the center of everyone's attention. It only takes him a short time to decide if he does or does not like somebody. He does not hide what he thinks of feels. If he does not like you, he will tell you why. Naska hopes that one day he will become strong enough to become a renowned member of The Seven Swordsman of The Mist and dreams that one day he can rise to be apart of the Noble Caste through his strength and determination. He worries that his past and where he comes from will drag him down or hinder his advancement. In combat, he contemplates his actions and the movements of his opponent... Once he has committed to a fight he does not like to back down.
Battle Information Village: Kirigakure
Rank: Genin
  • Chakra Pool: 5
  • Endurance: 11
  • Control: 7
  • Strength: 10

However, It's tip is comes to a point which makes it better for piercing then other Nodachi. From blade tip to pommel the Nodachi is approximately 1.7m long. The hilt is slightly thicker to support the heavy blade. From Pommel to guard, the user is given half a meter of clearance. From the guard down the blunt end of the blade, it gives approximately 1.2 meters of length. The blades width is approximately half a meter wide which comes back from the tip to form a very fine point.

wwwNaska also carries fifteen Kunai on him. On his right thigh their are two tool pouches. He splits five Kunai into each of those. On his back their is also a tool pouch that he can reach back to with his right hand that carries five Kunai.

Jutsu
Basic JutsuShow
Basic Jutsu
*[Basic Jutsu • Clone Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After completing a set of handseals, the user forms a slight chakra 'body', thus creating a single, massless clone. The clone created from this technique is very basic and will dissipate when hit with anything. These clones do not possess vital signs or a unique chakra signature, meaning they don't disrupt the environment, and anything on their person is superficial. The clone has 1 in each stat. They are limited to basic movements.

*[Basic Jutsu • Transformation Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After completing the needed handseals, the user of this technique will be able to alter their physical appearance to match that of another person. By consistently emitting chakra throughout their body, the user is able to keep their appearance adjusted at the cost of their Chakra Pool draining over time. As this technique is quite strenuous to uphold, experienced shinobi may see more clearly through this delusive disguise. This technique lasts for a number of posts equal to that of the user's (Chakra Pool/2).

*[Basic Jutsu • Chakra Kai]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A jutsu used with the purpose of activating seals and a range of devices and weapons, this technique begins with a single handseal. Once this has been performed, the user will focus a dollop of their chakra into what they are looking to activate in order to complete the task. Seals activated with this technique must be within 10 meters of the user's position.

*[Basic Jutsu • Act of Tree Climbing]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
By focusing chakra into his/her feet, the user is able to walk up trees and other vertical surfaces in a similar fashion to walking along the ground. This chakra amount must be precise, and although all shinobi learn this technique, the user's control stat will determine how well this jutsu can be executed. Users with low control 2 or lower will often fall during the use of this technique, while users with average control 3 or higher will be able to use this technique functionally. It lasts for a number of posts equal to the user's Chakra Pool.

*[Basic Jutsu • Act of Water Surface Walking]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A variation of the Act of Tree Climbing technique, this jutsu requires the user to focus a precise and balanced amount of charka into the soles of his/her feet. By doing so, the user is able to walk on the surface of water as though it were a solid surface. Users with low control 2 or lower are much more likely to fall through the surface of the water, while users with average control 3 or higher will be able to use this technique functionally. It lasts for a number of posts equal to the user's Chakra Pool.

*[Basic Jutsu • Kai Release]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A rather simple technique that allows the user to escape from a genjutsu. The user will form a single ram seal and focus to reset their chakra system to purge themselves of foreign chakra. The stat requirements for this technique can be found in the genjutsu rules.

*[Basic Jutsu • Change of Body Stance Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After completing the necessary handseals, the user is able to quickly substitute his/her body with a nearby object that is at least 2/3rds his/her size, but no bigger than their body. This substitution allows the object to take the force of the attack that was meant for the user, additionally allowing the user to create distance between him/her and the opponent. The object used in this jutsu may not be objects that are imbued with chakra or controlled by it, and they may also only be single, solid objects within a 10 meter radius of the user. This technique may only be used a total of one time in a single thread, give or take how many times Shunshin no Jutsu has already been used.

Shinden Kenjutsu
Emerging from the depths of the Marsh Country, Shinden is a style of Kenjutsu that focuses on one thing and one thing alone: overwhelming strength. While not completely forsaking flexibility, Shinden techniques are traditionally structured around downward slashes. The user lifts their weapon over their shoulder or above their head, both their strength and gravity bringing death crashing down onto their enemies. Due to this quirk unique to Shinden, while sufficiently performed with a katana, users of this style typically prefer heavier blades such as Nodachi, Odachi, and even Zanbatou. These large weapons further enhance the natural strengths the style's core mechanics provide, forgoing defense for brute strength and overwhelming power.

Requires: [Rigid Structure] Concentration, [Sword Weapons], [Polearm Weapons], or [Hafted Weapons] Concentration.
*[Shinden • Swaying Peltandra]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The use of larger swords and hafted weapons often makes close-quarters maneuvering of the practitioner's weapon more difficult. By placing one hand on the pommel/butt of the hilt or low section of the weapon's haft, the user is able to more easily maneuver, twist, slide, and flip their weapon in close quarters to cover a wider range of offensive and defensive options, using the second hand to give full power to their attacks and techniques. This Discipline represents the practitioner's mastery of this basic concept, allowing them to lessen the impact of their weapon's natural blind spots and weaknesses.

*[Shinden • Ambidexterity]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.

*[Shinden • Swaying Cattail]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength.
A practitioner of Shinden must be able to control their weapon as easily as their own breath. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity to both change the orientation of their weapon to cover a different part of their body while spinning said weapon and to immediately change the direction said weapon is spinning without loss of defensive or offensive momentum.

*[Shinden • Stream Splitting]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A simple setup technique, the practitioner quickly and continuously spins their weapon in their hands, capable of switching their weapon between each hand if they wish. This technique can serve as a defense against projectiles and attacks, but its primary purpose is to set up the practitioner for their next attack or technique. Any attack or technique used after the practitioner uses this technique will be instantly launched at the practitioner's maximum Strength and Speed.

*[Shinden • Branch Cleaver]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
One of Shinden's most basic offensive techniques, the practitioner raises their weapon over their head, using gravity and inertia to add momentum to their next attack. The practitioner then launches a ferocious two-handed swing in any single direction. The practitioner executes the cut in a circular motion, allowing them to quickly bring the weapon back to guard against a potential counterattack.

*[Shinden • Toad Skin]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Shinden users understand that the size of their weapons cause naturally occurring blind spots and have trained to shore up those weaknesses in their defense. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to more finely control the natural blind spots of their weapons, passively strengthening their defenses and even allowing the practitioner to bait ignorant opponents into traps. This Discipline also allows the practitioner to easily wield their preferred two-handed weapon with one hand, if applicable.
GenjutsuShow

[Genjutsu • Numbing]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After forming the necessary seals, Naska will equip a small tool such as a Kunai. The genjutsu is initiated for 4 posts when Naska and the opponent strike weapons against each other. The victim sense of touch in their hands lessens and make them feel numb, making it difficult to maintain a grip for extended periods.

[Genjutsu • Puddle Step]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After forming the necessary seals, then if anyone looks at Naska's open palm the Genjutsu will initiate. For the next 3 posts, anytime the victims takes a step, adjusts their foot, or moves their feet in anyway. It will feel as if the ground is only a liquid surface and the where the foot actually lands is only slightly below the surface making it uncomfortable to take a step.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Untouchable
Naska, the Unlucky? Born to the slums of Kirigakure with no future and desitned to be nothing... or was he?
wwwNaska's parents, Nasa Hibaka and Kato Hatozota, were close since childhood. Nasa met Kato as a very young child after becoming a orphan due to conflict in Shark Country and was left to fend for herself in Kirigakure. It was in the Kirigakure slums that she met Kato and the two became reliant on their own survival, they became inseparable. They shared a bond of knowing the struggles of being an Untouchable. Somebody that is worth nothing to the rest of the people of Kirigakure... all because of where their social status and the devices and sins not of their own. To the rest of the world, this may seem unfair. but to those in Kirigakure, it's just how life can be sometimes. Nasa was strong and Kato was smart, they depended on each other to survive. Their main goal was to not become like others and become so far in debt to anyone that they would have no future due to becoming a servant of one of the criminal organizations that plagued the slums. Nasa and Kato found other ways. Sometimes, they did work that would be too demeaning or disgusting for others to do. It kept them in a position to not be reliant on others. It wasn't a luxurious life but it was a life together.
wwwI suppose it would be impossible not to for two people to not fall in love when your existence is depending on each other. Marriages weren't much of a ceremony down in the slums and were more sort of contracts. For them, the contract was a simple one. Nasa Hibaka became Nasa Hatozota and soon gave birth to a energetic little boy whom they namesaked Naska.
Dreamer

wwwGrowing up in the slums is rough for a child. But when you have nothing, you arn't missing anything when you are provided everything you need. It may have not been what you would want for your children but Nasa and Kato did the best they could and gave everything to Naska. Naska was proud of his parents and because of this pride he would find himself getting into little fights with the local kids. Fighting in the slums wasn't anything new and almost a rite of passage for young boys. It taught them to be tougher and showed them the importance of being stronger. Other skills he picked up was finding small creature comforts by stealing and hiding. He learned teamwork through the few friends he had. Everyday was about surviving... but as a child you don't really realize it. He just wanted to have fun.
wwwIn Naska's early teens he become interested in becoming a Shinobi. At the time he would not be permitted to join the academy due to his social status. However, Naska is a dreamer and would often be caught looking at the highest points of Kirigakure from the slums or watch shinobi from a distance on the occasion they arrived and just wondered. Naska did not realize it but it was during this time that he learned his Nindo "Reach for it! Nothing is impossible!". Naska trained his body daily with no instruction on chakra control, the only path available was Taijutsu... if you would even call it that. He worked his muscles and ran to increase his endurance. He picked fights just to gain the experience. He would fight others who he thought would give him a challenge. When he lost, it gave him more motivation to train harder when he could. As Naska got older, he became troubled. He trained himself to achieve a dream that he started to feel would always just be out of his reach... all because of where he was born. With each passing year; he became defiant to his parents, got into petty fights with others, and eventually gained a nickname to the locals... "Trouble". He would soon reach adulthood and would be no closer to achieve his dream now then when he was as a young teen. He truly felt lost and unsure of his place in the world.
wwwAt the age of 17, everything would change with the return of The Bloody Mist. This was the opportunity that Naska needed. The Bloody Mist stated that if a volunteer became hunted for a week, killed a academy student, and survive they would be permitted to join the academy no mater your social status. This was Naska's chance to finally reach the impossible. To Naska, what would be worse, die attempting to achieve your dream or die worthless in the slums. He signed his name to be hunted on the first trial.

The Bloody Mist

wwwNaska knew the first nights of the week would be the worst. Every academy student was at their strongest looking for any unfortunate soul that they came across to test their new skills on. The better play was to wait till the end of the week when others were tired. Until then, Naska conserved his strength and energy. By also deciding to not eat and barely do anything the first few days could give him a better chance of not being found. At this point, anything he did possibly meant being discovered which would most likely mean certain death. So he hid, and tried to gather what little intelligence he could.
wwwBy the end of the week, it was time to move. He quietly gathered his strength and looked for a target. It wasn't long before his target found him. The fight did not seem to last that long but to Naska it felt like an entire night. This fight would determine if he would gain his chance to join the academy. When Naska had the student's through in his hands and saw the life leaving his opponent... that emotion he pushed down to the depths of his sub-conscious had reemerged. But in the end, it was a fight to the death and if Naska hesitated any further now then he might as well be dead. To gain his dream he took out the academy students kunai from his tool belt and slowly brought it into the students chest forever changing Naska. With the students headband in hand, he left the student on the ground and moved to the exit. The sound of the hunt and with the academy students headband in hand... he was one step closer.

The Academy

wwwNaska for the first time in his life truly believed in himself, "Reach for it! Nothing is impossible!". He had very little time to celebrate with his parents, though they were proud. He barely took anything with him and was escorted to the academy within Kirigakure... the interior now his new home. He looked back to the slums, being the last time he would see it till he became a Shinobi, where his parents were and knew if he passed he could get them out of that terrible place.
wwwAcademy life wasn't all that terrible to Naska. He had a proper bed, a room that had a door with no holes in the roof, and a easy access to food. The instructors were tough but nothing he couldn't handle. It was the other students that bothered him. He tried to keep his past to himself but when you are one of few that survived the hunt and was allowed access to the academy, its easy to have a target on your back. That being said, he tried to keep to himself.
wwwChakra control classes were his weakness, he struggled. On his off time he studied as hard as he could while others spent their time off doing other things. He knew this was his one and only chance and he was not going to blow it. The physical classes he had no problem with and found a interest in Kenjutsu. For the next 18 months, Naska trained in an environment where he thrived. When the capstone of his time at the academy arrived and he was sent into the trial area and hunt he did so as a completely different man then when he first arrived.

Tragedy

wwwDuring the hunt, Naska did not have the same thoughts about killing as he once did. It was to kill or to be killed. He did not actively searched for the weaker volunteers... he wanted to weed out the weak from the other academy students. He actively searched for them often letting volunteers go. However, he learned about a disease that had spread through the slums when he ran into somebody from his prior home themselves. He tried not worrying about his parents... but it was on his mind. By the end of trial, he had quite a few headbands to which he made sure he took out of the trial area. If anyone was to pass this trial they would do it the right way... with no shortcuts.
wwwAfter the ceremony and Naska was recognized as a Shinobi of the Genin rank he went to the slums. There he learned the truth of the disease, it was bad. Lots of people, good innocent people, lost their life because of the lack of medicine or even help that came to the slums. His parents didn't do anything terrible and he felt it unfair to see truly evil people survive. It took a lot of willpower to not lash out. He decided that day that he would continue to become stronger and rise to the top of the ranks within Kirigakure... that one day he would become a noble. One day he would help those like his parents

We typically ask for about a paragraph of information on individual personality questions and physical descriptions. I can offer aid and examples if you wish in this department and can be reached on Discord as "Dragon God(des) Kirb".

You'll need to give dimensions on the Nodachi. A blade and grip length will suffice.

You'll need to give exact locations and numbers for those Kunai. It may be assumed to be 5 in three separate pouches, but you use vague wording for the first two sets.

You currently have spent 46 points, broken down as such.

Nodachi - 2 points
Kunai - 1 Point
5D - 10 Points
1C - 3 Points
10 Stats - 30 Points

Any left over points are lost as a Genin as allowed to spend 50. If fine with this no worries.

You don't need to list basic jutsu unless you just want too.

I'll allow a Kiri OOC or Kage to go over your history.

As always feel free to question me or ask another mod. My say is not final.

Thank you for reviewing my registration. I have made the edits to my physical description as well as personality. I adjusted to format to be more of a paragraph then what was before. Please let me know if that is okay or if there is anything else needed to be added.

I also gave a better description of the Nodachi as well as a better idea on where the tools are.

Lastly, i added two D rank Kenjutsu to bring me up to 50 points. The basic Jutsu is for me.

[Genjutsu • Water Memory]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After forming the necessary seals, Naska will touch a source of water and cause it to ripple. Seening the water ripple will initiate the genjutsu. As the water ripples they being to form into images and play a memory of Naska's for anyone watching. The images can not be altered away from what Naska's memory has seen. The images are soundless and the Genjutsu fades when those watching look away or the memory ends.

This genjutsu is likely too open ended since a memory of yours can be pretty much anything you want it to be whenever.

[Genjutsu • Puddle Step]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu <- I think illusions are sight-based things only, not feeling. Maybe more Status/Illusion of Force fits this.

For the first jutsu in question. Well if I can't point out how Naska has memory of something then that would be meta gaming wouldn't it?

For the second, the rules state illusion genjutsu can affect any sense even if its not from the initiators... this would be affecting sense of touch.

^ A D-rank genjutsu should be a preset reproducable illusion. That is to say, it should be a set illusion being invoked.

Huh? I don't understand what you are trying to say.

I feel like we are saying the same thing. If I was to take a memory and play it, then it would be a preset event. I can play that memory as in illusion in water and it would come out the same every time... there for... reproducable.

I don't understand how playing a memory for somebody to see would be any more difficult then just recalling that memory and speaking to it. When I recall a memory, I see that memory. All this jutsu does is project that instance or event.

The differences between E rank and D rank Genjutsu. E rank is non combative, very simple, and can only be a stationary illusion where D rank can be combative and can create disturbances in targets vision.

Per the rules for Rank Jutsu, this Genjutsu follows all of the requirements for a E rank Jutsu. Besides one factor... the illusion is not stationary as it is playing multiple images like a video of the event. So the illusion was bumped up to D rank. That is the only reason it is a D rank and not an E rank. It is still non combative, simple, and super easy to break.

After a discussion on Discord, I have removed Water Memory and replaced it with.

[Genjutsu • Numbing]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After forming the necessary seals, Naska will equip a small tool such as a Kunai. The small tool will then become the vessel for the Genjutsu and waits for a vibration between the tool and another object. When an opponent either blocks the tool, or Naska blocks with the tool, the Genjutsu will then transfer to the victim and wait another similar vibration for the Jutsu to initiate. The Jutsu only initiates when the victim feels the vibration a second time after either blocking or being blocked and for just a moment their hand will become numb. For just that moment, that numbness is an attempt to provide Naska with an opening for his follow up attack or counter attack.
