Village: Kirigakure no Sato
Size: Small - Most membesr of the clan are not shinobi and live in desolate islands around the Water Country. Normal citizens work as laborers for the Karagata and build ports for ships on islands; with Genki proficient Ketsueki studying as scribes under the Hirohito family. Ketsueki capable with chakra are moved to Kirigakure at an early age and permanent residence by Ketsueki is forbidden unless they are shinobi.
Traits: The Ketsueki clan were once heralded as Phantom Vampires of the Mist. Their pale white skin, and long fangs still an ominous sign to residents living on islands of the Water Country. Their vitality is sustained by the blood of living humans, so the Ketsueki's appearence always defies their age; with most appearing at most in their 50's and of a fit build. Their hair varies in appearance, and grays with age. Members of the clan can live for up to 300 years.
Ketsueki have a mark on their tongue that acts as an organ that can consume spiritual vitality from blood. This mark is a black 6-pointed star that glows when activated by blood, and is encircled by calligraphic Fuuin seals that can evolve. The inside of their mouth is black rather than pink.
Traditions: Ketsueki parents perform a secret Fuuinjutsu ritual on pregnant mothers. The technique seals the childs ability to produce Genki in the womb, and the result creates vampire humans with the Genki Star printed on their tongue. Children are often lost in this ritual, and the birth rates for the clan are low.
Effects of the Genki star are varied based on the seal around them, however the constant hunger for blood provides a basis for laws of the clan. Members must feed on fresh human blood to live. According to tradition feeding is only permissible at night outside of Kirigakure, unless the Ketsueki is dying or a shinobi. Even under those two exception, feeding is still illegal and punishable.
Influence: The Ketsueki clan is relatively unknown to Kirigakure citizens, only recently providing shinobi for the village once again.
High level members of the shinobi force are familiar with an era where the Ketsueki stalked the village at night, and even attacked civillians in broad day. Many who once believed the clan to be a myth, they are aware the clan has returned; and the existence of the Genki Star is more than a myth once again.
In the country knowledge of the vampire clan is rare, with most believing them to be spirits or monsters. Some people are familiar with the Ketsueki, and even act as blood donors.
History Most of the Ketsueki clan is shrouded in mystery. Sages explain that the art of harnessing Genki was taught to a human name Aiwucaru Ketsueki by a vampire spirit cutting off his tongue and feeding him human blood to grow a new one. Aiwucaru is credited with exploring the west sea of the country, eventually mastering a Kinjutsu based on Genki.
Begining as a House that controlled several eras of the Water Daimyo's rule, the Ketsueki House acted as an arm of assassination for the Daimyo. After a particularly bloody decade, a new Daimyo forged a deal to corral the bloodthirsty house with a leader in the Hirohito family. The Hirohito family housed the family in islands near Kirigakure, and trained them in ways of espionage, occasionally cultivating chakra endowed vampires.
After some decades of providing Kirigakure with exceptional shinobi, the Village had a problem with frequent feeding attacks. Facing pressure, the Mizukage of the time forged a deal with the Hirohito family. They would take the Ketsueki house abroad, far away from the village into the rural seaside. There they were able to work for the Hirohito family in a new way, and engaged as scribes for the Hirohito's to collect knowledge for Kirigakure.
The family became a direct arm of the Hirohito family in the islands once again, and rarely produced shinobi for the village this time. Instead the Hirohito family encouraged blood pacts with the House to act as laborers for the Karagata family. Building ship ports for the sailor family, the Ketsueki were able to quietly feed on humans around the country. For years the clan remained in obscurity, working for either the Hirohitos as scribes and occasionally spies; or building ship ports for the Karagatas.
After some time, advancements with Fuuinjutsu through the Ketsueki scribes increased birth rates and the family began producing shinobi once more. The village now accepted them in secret, and they were encouraged to keep their blood origins secret. Tradition became recorded with Krigakure, and Ketsueki were held by arms length to maintain secret feedings on blood.
After a few decades of success, the house was accepted as a clan and given territory in islands close to Kirigakure. On these islands the clan maintains their ties with the Karagata and Hirohito alike. Shinobi are trained in Kirigakure, and some live on the islands outside the village with special exception.
Shinobi Information Definitions:
Six-Pointed Genki Star:Requirements: All member of the Ketsueki clan must be born with the Genki Seal and actively feed on human blood, since their human body only recieves sustenance from Genki within fresh blood.The user is born through a blood sacrifice ritual. By sealing the unborn child's Genki, a vital force necessary to operate the body and create chakra; and placing a Secret Fuuinjutsu upon their forming tongue, the child is born with a unique ability to process Genki with their tongue by consuming less than 1 ounce of fresh blood.
Along with temporarily boosting their physical power, the users body creates unique chakra that can be molded for use with Secret Techniques of the Ketsueki clan. These technique employ altered chakra, that acts as a medium.
By absorbing a non-Ketsueki's fresh blood into the mark on their tongue the users Strength and Speed and are increased by 5 each, while decreasing Willpower and Chakra Pool by 5 each. This effect last for 5 posts, and is not stackable. However if the user consumes more blood the timer resets.
The user can only use stored blood to activate the seal if the blood is stored through Fuinjutsu. This seal can evolve and be altered to give the Ketsueki unique abilities such as chakra draining, venom, and elemental formation.
Kekkei Genkai: The user is born through a blood sacrifice ritual. By robbing the unborn child of Genki, a vital force necessary to operate the body and create chakra, and placing a Secret Fuuinjutsu upon their forming tongue, the child is born with a unique ability to process Genki with their tongue by consuming less than ounce of blood. Appearing inside of the mouth, on top of their tongue, the 6-Pointed Genki Star defines Ketsueki members.
This essence called Genki sustains the Ketsueki's life in place of food. As well Genki provides an environment between the spirit and physical body. Chakra can enter from the spiritual body into the cells of the body through Genki within the tenketsu system. They do not need calories to live, instead their Genki consumes Chakra to operate the body, instead of just storing it. Genki also boosts the Ketsueki members physical prowess. Along with temporarily boosting their physical power, the users body creates unique chakra amidst Genki that can be molded for use with Secret Techniques of the Ketsueki clan. Ninjutsu that employ chakra infused with Genki that harnesses the power of their physical vitality within their chakra.
The Genki Star begins with a Fuuin seal around it, regulating the influx of Genki into the users chakra system. This seal can evolve and legends among clans members tell of powerful Vampires that have used Fuuinjutsu to evolve the Six-Points of the star, giving their Genki unique abilities such as sustaining the physicality of vessels with their chakra for spirits, and turning animals into familiars by imparting them with Genki.

After performing the needed hand seals, and absorbing Genki from blood, the user forms a shimmering red orb within a 15 meter radius, lasting 3 turns. With a Kai the user can swap places with the red orb. It then fades away.

After performing a series of handseals, and consuming Genki from fresh blood, the user places their palms upwards. Dark red chakra forms in their hand, and a wisping sphere coagulates. The user is able to form the chakra into a small wazikashi that lasts for 1/2 the users controls before melting into the air. The weapon is sheathed, and can be worn at the waist; dark red and 26 centimeters long with a curve.

After forming the required handseals, the user draws on the Genki within their own blood. Red fog collects around the user and covers the area around them in a 5 x 5 x 5m area. The fog limits hearing of anyone inside, replacing ambient noise with muffled shuffling as the Crimson Fog fades into the air above. This technique lasts a number of posts equal to 1/2 the users Endurance.

After performing a series of hand seal and consuming Genki from their own blood, the user extends their tongue. Red chakra flows from their mouth and a a half pipe dome forms directly in front of their body. Large enough to cover the user, the Crimson Umbrella forms with [Control] Speed, and has [Control] Strength.

The arrow sentiently floats for 3 posts, able to accelerate like a missile with the users will, before fading away.

By focusing on fresh blood in sight, the user can draw Genki to their tongue with [Control] Speed from a 10 meter radius. This technique allows the user to consume Genki and activate their Genki Star with fresh blood, however the boosting effects last for 3 turns rather than 5.

The votex can be commanded to move with [Control] Strength and Speed while the attacks persist in a 5x5x5 area, up to 20 meters away from the user for 3 posts. The razors are capable of intercepting projectiles, and the user is unaffected. The formation of the vortex cannot be changed, it is circular.

The user first absorbs Genki from fresh blood, then after the correct hand seals are performed they place their hands to the ground and erect a red chakra barrier around them in a 5x5x5 area with [Control] Strength and Speed. If the barrier is broken, the jutsu is dispersed. The five sided barrier lasts for 1/2 Endurance posts, and the user is able to Kai spears from the walls to impale their target. The spears are 1 meter in length, and recede back into the barrier upon striking. The user is unaffected by the spears, and can draw them from the barrier to use as simple polearm weapons with [Control] strength. They cannot be expelled from the barrier, and only stand erect. The user is able to project them from both sides of the walls, but they can only persist inside of the barrier as weapons.

The user's chakra is evenly distributed between themselves and the clone, giving it an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clone is capable of performing jutsu, be given complex commands, being caught in genjutsu, and can consume Genki on their tongue; but they will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clone will be created in exactly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. Given that the clones are an exact replica of the user, they share the same stats except for Chakra Pool, which is half the users; unlike the user the clones are not empowered by Genki and must consume from blood to use Secret Art: Genki Star techniques. Once dispersed, the chakra distributed to the clone returns to the user, allowing any un-used chakra to be regained. The chakra returns to the user at a different rate depending on the user's control.

Damage from these lances drain chakra; as well the user can conciously control the field to erect up to 6 lances at a time. The lances move with [Control] Speed and Strength, and can stay erect or be withdrawn. Up to 36 lances can be erect at a time, allowing the user to still control 6 more. This jutsu lasts for 7 posts, and the lances that remain at the end fade away into a faint fog.

The spheres creates a loud fluttering sound like a flock of birds taking flight. The user can wield the spheres and attack from close combat or launch the spheres straight away up to 25 meters with [Control] Speed.
Upon contact with the Genki Hirahira the sphere impacts with a cutting effect and [Control] Strength. The spheres can tear through metal like a saw, and is capable of severing limbs. After performing this jutsu the user's endurance is decreased by 3 for 3 turns.
S-Ranked Ninjutsu
