Frozen Iron Custom Onjutsu Style

Post by AFungalNetwork » Wed Mar 05, 2025 5:48 am

Any Ryo earned from this style can be given to Tetsuo

Frozen Iron Style is an axe-based combat style developed by the nomads of the Cold Country, a harsh land of freezing winds and unforgiving terrain. Unlike traditional kenjutsu styles focused on precision and refined swordplay, this technique embraces the raw, unrelenting power of axes—tools that double as deadly weapons in the hands of skilled warriors.

Born from necessity, this style reflects the nomads’ way of life, where axes serve not only for combat but also for survival, hunting, and craftsmanship. The warriors of this style fight like the relentless winter storms: ever-moving, overwhelming, and unyielding.

Requires: [CQC], [Alternative Weaponry], [Acrobatics]

D - Rank

^Snowdrift Stance
D rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A mobile, loose stance designed for rapid movement and continuous strikes. The practitioner holds their axe with a relaxed grip, often keeping their body slightly lowered and their weight shifting with the terrain. This stance allows for fast slashes, quick repositioning, and seamless transitions between offense and defense. Allowing for ease of chaining attacks and feinting.

^Ironwood Stance
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A strong, grounded stance that maximizes power and stability. The practitioner plants their feet firmly, raising their axe in a high guard or keeping it close to their body for controlled, devastating swings. This stance is used when bracing against strong opponents or delivering heavy, committed strikes. Boosts striking power and is effective for breaking through enemy defenses.

^White Iron Grip
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Mastery of axe handling in close-quarters combat is essential for practitioners of the Frozen Iron Style. By adjusting their grip, sliding their hands along the haft, and leveraging the weight of the weapon, they can maneuver more efficiently in tight spaces. This discipline allows the practitioner to rotate their axe head quickly, using the haft to strike, block, or reposition without being hindered by the weapon's natural blind spots.
Reduces the natural blind spots of axes by enabling faster grip adjustments. Allows for quick shifts between one handed and two handed styles.

^Unyielding Glacier Flow
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A practitioner of Frozen Iron Style learns to keep their axe in constant motion, much like the slow but unstoppable movement of a glacier. This discipline allows the user to continuously spin their axe, shifting seamlessly between attack and defense, and to change the direction of their swings suddenly without losing momentum.
Can deflect incoming strikes of equal or lower Strength by rotating the axe's head against an opponent's attack.

^Cold Iron Thrust
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The user lunges forward, driving the spike or butt of their axe haft into their target. Just as the strike lands (or to adjust if the opponent dodges), the user twists the axe and follows up with a powerful horizontal cleave, forcing their opponent to react to the sudden change in direction.
Converts a thrust into a cleave. Can knock an opponent fully back if Strength is 5 below the user. Can be used one handed or two handed.

^Frozen Claw Hook
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By using the beard of the axe, the user catches an opponent’s weapon, limb, or even clothing before violently yanking to destabilize them. This technique can disarm opponents, trip them, or pull them into a follow-up strike.

^Avalanche Step
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
An axe-wielder must be able to move fluidly through rough terrain, whether it's deep snow, ice, or unstable ground. This technique trains the user to shift their weight effectively, allowing them to move quickly and unpredictably while maintaining balance. The user has no speed penalty for rough terrain.

C Rank

^Ironclad Rotation
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
An advanced technique that revolves around rotating the axe with immense power and control, allowing the practitioner to defend against multiple strikes while preparing for a devastating counterattack. The user can spin their weapon to create a shield of iron that deflects enemy strikes and rebounds with sharp, sudden slashes. The momentum from the spin also allows for quick follow-up strikes, keeping the opponent off-balance.
The attack deflects attacks with a lower Speed and Strength than the user.

^Glacial Hammer
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A powerful, ground-shaking strike that channels the full force of the axe’s weight and the user’s momentum. The practitioner winds up, swinging the axe down in a heavy arc aimed at the enemy's defenses, using the momentum to break through shields, weapons, and armor. The technique is named after glaciers because, just like a glacier's unrelenting path, the strike destroys anything in its way.
Can disarm shields and weapons with 5 Strength lower than the user.
Can sunder armor and break shields and weapons with 10 Strength lower than the user.

^Cold Iron's Fangs
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique combines speed and precision, resembling the fast, lethal strike of a wolf. The practitioner charges forward, using their axe in a horizontal arc aimed at their opponent’s midsection or limbs. Just before contact, the user twists the blade to slice in a different direction, making the strike far harder to block or dodge. The ability to dodge is based on the Speed stats of the user and target.

^Frozen Barrage
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
An advanced use of throwing axes, this technique allows the practitioner to throw multiple axes in rapid succession. Using the momentum of a series of precise, quick throws, the practitioner can overwhelm the opponent with a barrage of projectiles, keeping them on the defensive while closing the gap. After the initial throws, the user follows up by closing in quickly with a brutal melee attack, combining ranged and close combat seamlessly.

^Tundra Flurry
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A rapid combo attack designed to overwhelm opponents with relentless axe strikes from multiple angles. The user starts with a wide horizontal slash, followed by a spinning diagonal strike, and finishes with a powerful downward cleave. This technique takes advantage of the axe’s weight and the user's momentum.

B Rank

^Glacier Stance
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A master of Frozen Iron Style fights like a glacier—unyielding, immovable, and relentless. By adopting a firm yet fluid stance, the practitioner roots themselves to the ground, making it incredibly difficult to be knocked back or thrown off balance, even against overwhelming force. This discipline also enhances their ability to counterattack with devastating efficiency after absorbing an enemy’s attack.

^Avalanche Momentum
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A master of Frozen Iron Style does not simply attack—they flow like a winter storm, chaining devastating strikes with precision and power. This discipline allows the practitioner to seamlessly transition between swings, spins, and strikes without losing momentum, keeping up relentless pressure on their opponent. The user can also change attack directions mid-swing, making their movements unpredictable. The user no longer has the normal recovery time between axe swings and can wield them with the smoothness of a sword.

^Glacial Execution
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A brutal move that combines raw strength and precision into a single devastating blow. The practitioner begins with a feinting horizontal slash to make the opponent react, then instantly spins into a full-force vertical cleave, aiming to cleave through armor, weapons, or even the enemy themselves.

^Whiteout Cyclone
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A powerful spinning attack that turns the practitioner into a deadly whirlwind of steel. The user rapidly spins with their axe, striking multiple times in rapid succession before finishing with a full-powered diagonal slash. The constant movement makes it difficult to counter, while the final attack delivers overwhelming force.

^Frostbite Clever
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A vicious grappling maneuver that turns the axe’s hooked beard into a deadly weapon. The user catches an opponent’s limb, weapon, or armor with the axe hook, then twists and pulls with bone-crushing force, either disarming the target, breaking their limb, or pulling them into a devastating follow-up attack.
For the technique to have the intended effect the user needs to have a Strength stat 5 higher than the target.

^Breaking the Permafrost
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A terrifying full-power charging attack that turns the practitioner into an unstoppable force. The user rushes forward at full speed, using their axe like a battering ram to either strike the opponent head-on or knock them off their feet.
Strength stat 5 points higher than target knocks the opponent back.
10 or higher knocks the opponent to the ground.

^Wrath of Eternal Winter
A Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The user has trained their body to endure anything—whether it's the coldest blizzards, the harshest strikes, or the most brutal combat. Their body functions like an immovable glacier, allowing them to take blows that would shatter lesser warriors without slowing down. In addition, any pain or damage only fuels their rage and power, making them even more dangerous as the battle drags on.
The user severely reduces the impact of enemy's attacks; in addition the user enters a battle frenzy where their body goes numb and they are able to fight through the pain of combat.

^Frost Jarl's Dominance
A Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
At this level, the user has completely mastered their axe's momentum, allowing them to chain attacks, deflect counters, and maintain absolute control over their weapon's movement. They can seamlessly transition between wide cleaves, sudden thrusts, rapid spins, and brutal overhead strikes without leaving an opening. Their axe is an extension of their body, moving with perfect efficiency and terrifying precision.
The user can wield their axe as if it were an extension of their body. There is no longer a cooldown between axe swings and the user is able to switch attack direction seamlessly mid swing.

^Tempest Strike
A Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A high-speed assault technique that turns the user into a whirlwind of destruction. The practitioner dashes through the battlefield, delivering a series of lightning-fast axe strikes while constantly repositioning themselves to keep the enemy on the defensive. This relentless assault makes it nearly impossible for an opponent to counterattack, as the user never stops moving.
To achieve the desired effect the user must be 10 Speed faster than the opponent.

^Frozen Requiem
A Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A terrifying counterattack technique that punishes any opponent foolish enough to strike the user. When an enemy attacks, the user absorbs the impact, then retaliates with a brutal counterstrike using the full weight of their axe. The more force the opponent puts into their attack, the more devastating the counter will be. If the opponent strikes recklessly, this move can outright crush them in a single blow.
To get the desired effect the user's Endurance stat should be 10 higher than the opponent's Strength stat.

^Jarl's Avalanche
A Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The ultimate charging technique, designed to annihilate anything in the user’s path. The practitioner launches forward at full speed, gripping their axe in both hands before delivering an unstoppable, full-body cleave. The sheer power behind this attack is so intense that it can tear through multiple enemies, destroy obstacles, and even leave massive craters in the battlefield.
The shockwave of the attack reaches out 5ft per 10 levels of Strength.

S Rank

^Colossus of the Tundra
S Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 25 Strength, 35 Endurance

At this level, the user has achieved absolute control over their physical power, becoming an immovable juggernaut. Their body is conditioned to withstand immense force, bone-shattering impacts, and even the harshest battlefield conditions. With this mastery, they can endure attacks that would kill lesser warriors instantly while continuing to fight at full strength.
The user is immune to physical knockbacks and staggering so long as the attack is lower than their Endurance stat.
Physical damage is severely reduced, allowing the user to shake off all but the strongest attacks.
The user's grip is unshakeable, unless the opponent can overcome the user's Endurance stat the user cannot be disarmed.

^Howl of the Blizzard Jarl
S Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 25 Strength, 30 Speed

The user has perfected the art of relentless pressure and overwhelming offense. They move with unstoppable momentum, chaining attacks so seamlessly that their axe never stops moving, turning them into a bladed storm of death. Their strikes are so fast and heavy that shockwaves erupt with every motion, making their mere presence on the battlefield a force of destruction.
Attacks create concussive shockwaves, damaging enemies even if they dodge provided the user's Strength overcomes the target's Speed.
User can transition instantly between offense and defense.

^Berserker of the Cold Country
S Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 25 Strength, 25 Endurance, 25 Willpower

At this level, the user unleashes the primal fury of Cold Country’s legendary warriors, entering a state of unstoppable rage and brutal efficiency. This is not a mindless berserk state—it is a cold, calculated storm of destruction, where instinct and experience merge into an unrelenting force of war.

When activated, the user’s body overcomes all pain and exhaustion, their attacks become faster, stronger, and more brutal, and they fight with a relentless, inhuman endurance.
The user feels no pain and fights at full capacity even with grave injuries. They will not stop until their body physically cannot move anymore.
The more the user attacks, the faster and stronger they become. The longer they stay in this state the stronger they become. +3 Speed and Strength for every 2 posts the user remains in this state.
No amount of blood loss, injuries, or broken bones will stop the user from fighting. Their mind is locked in pure battle focus, making them immune to fear, illusions, and mind-altering techniques. The user gains +7 to Willpower in this state.
The longer the user is in this state the more danger they are in. The user loses their sense of self-preservation. This state also strains the user's body immensely. After 10 posts the user is in this state they immediately fall unconscious and can only be healed using Iijutsu.

^Endless Avalanche
S Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 25 Strength, 25 Speed, 25 Endurance

A technique that turns the battlefield into a slaughterhouse. The user charges forward, spinning at high speed, becoming a whirling hurricane of destruction. This technique is not about precision—it is about obliteration, striking everything in sight with unstoppable force until nothing is left standing.
Destroys everything in its path, cutting down enemies, structures, and even landmarks.
The force of each strike creates localized shockwaves reaching out 10ft per 10 Strength the user has.

^Frozen Jarl's Clutch
S Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 30 Strength, 25 Endurance

The ultimate grappling and execution technique of Frozen Iron Style. The user catches an opponent with their axe’s hooked blade, locks them in place with overwhelming strength, and then either crushes, breaks, or outright executes them with a single decisive motion. The user then slams the opponent into the ground at full force, shattering their bones.
To get the desired effect the user must have 5 Strength higher than the target.
If the target's Endurance stat is 15 lower than the target's Strength stat, they are rendered immobile and can only be healed using Iijutsu.

The jutsu all seem well written and balanced enough, my main sticking point is that the stat prerequisites largely seem unnecessary. They can stay for the S Ranks but I otherwise feel it would be better to remove them.
