Ki Sabre

Ki Sabre Description The Ki Sabre style is the result of countless years of deep meditation, allowing regular men and women of the minor countries to learn how to utilize internal control to mold and direct their physical energy. Uchigana, Makoto, the grandmaster and founder of the style, dubbed this inner power 'Ki', and taught others how to use this power to their advantage by coating their weapons with the power. Historically, it is this style that has allowed some of the greatest samurai to stand on the same level as the shinobi of the five great villages. All Kijutsu techniques are Silvery White in color.

There are a few requirements necessary to utilize this style, and a few differences from regular styles, listed below:
 • The user must know at least a B rank Kenjutsu style pyramid before learning Ki Sabre. Kenjutsu techniques include any jutsu involving a sword, such as Iaido or Yoshin style. Custom styles can be included at the discretion of the Moderating Team.
 • Kijutsu techniques drain slightly more energy than traditional taijutsu, but less than heavenly Taijutsu, and can only be used with weaponry of some kind.
 • While Ki Sabre is traditionally used with bladed weapons like Katana or Ninjato, it is capable of being used with other weaponry.
 • Ki Sabre takes up a single concentration slot (listed below) and Kijutsu techniques fall under their own pyramid.
 • *[Ki Sabre Technique] is prerequisite to learn any other jutsu of the style.
Ki Sabre:
When a Samurai reaches a certain level of skill with their blade, They become able to force their 'Ki' into their blade and shape it as they will to allow a Kenjutsu user a greater range of attacks in comparison to normal fighters. This power is referred to by the citizens of the minor countries as "Ki", and has historically allowed the greatest samurai to stand on equal footing with shinobi.

D-Rank
*[Ki Sabre Technique]
D-Rank Kijutsu
This is the fundamental technique of the Ki Sabre style. The user funnels their Ki into their weapon, which increases the size of the weapon by 1 inch per 3 [Control]. The enhanced weapon will give off a white glow, growing brighter with higher [Control], while also increasing the endurance of the weapon up to the user's [Control]. All other techniques simply shape this shell of ki meaning the endurance is retained through other techniques. This technique lasts as long as the user maintains it.

*[Weapon Shaping: Double Blade Technique]
D-Rank Kijutsu
Focusing their Ki into the weapon they are holding, the user of this technique alters the Ki coating on their weapon to extend out from the sword, forming a second blade about 6 inches in front of the first. This gives the user a distinct advantage by letting them slash twice into an opponent or defense and making their attacks harder to block, as well as giving them the defensive edge by using the first edge to parry or block attacks, leaving their weapon unharmed.

*[Weapon Shaping: Handguard Technique]
D-Rank Kijutsu
Focusing their Ki into the weapon they are holding, the user of this technique is able to alter the chakra coating of their weapon to work as a handguard, crawling down the hilt of their weapon and over their hand or hands, if they are wielding the weapon two handed. This protects their hands from damaging attacks that might cause the user to drop their weapon.

*[Weapon Shaping: Spear-Blade Technique]
D-Rank Kijutsu
Focusing their Ki into the weapon they are holding, the user of this technique is able to alter the Ki coating of their weapon to put more Ki out of the tip of their weapon to create a one foot long spearhead shape out of the tip of their weapon. This gives them a distinct range advantage while limiting the coating along other sections of the weapon, making other parts of the weapon more vulnerable.

*[Weapon Shaping: Hammer-Blade Technique]
D-Rank Kijutsu
Focusing their Ki into the weapon they are holding, the user of this technique is able to alter the Ki coating of their weapon to put more Ki out of the front edge of their weapon while hardening it slightly, giving them a 6 inch blunt extension in front of their blade. This gives them a slight contact area advantage while also allowing them to turn their attacks into blunt attacks, if they need to hurt someone without cutting them or for utility purposes.
C-Rank
*[Weapon Shaping: Axe-Blade Technique]
C-Rank Kijutsu
Focusing their Ki into the weapon they are holding, the user of this technique is able to alter the Ki coating of their weapon to put more Ki on the upper edges and back of their weapon. A one foot wide axe-head of Ki forms at the tip of their weapon, giving them a distinct advantage towards what would normally be 'grazed' cutting attacks while also restricting the coating along the other sections of the blade.

*[Weapon Shaping: Shark-Blade Technique]
C-Rank Kijutsu
Focusing their Ki into the weapon they are holding, the user is able to make pieces of the shell grow erratic and instead of cutting, the Ki shell of the Ki Sabre technique will grow rough and grating when applied to skin in addition to its normal cutting edge. Wounds caused will be far messier and do secondary damage in addition to the initial swing.

*[Weapon Shaping: Chain-Blade Technique]
C-Rank Kijutsu
Focusing their Ki into the weapon they are holding, the user of this technique is able to cause the coating of their weapon to move down to the hand guard of the weapon before expanding out, forming into a three foot long semi-solid chain of Ki. These chains can be used to bind foes or perform locking attacks as well. If the chains are broken, they take the shell with them and it must be reformed.

*[Replacement Blade Technique]
C-Rank Kijutsu
Putting their hands together, the user of this technique channels their Ki into their hands and flows it outwards to create a crude and basic 2 foot long 'sword' of Ki. This sword is silvery white and flickers slightly out of existence and back into existence when it's not concentrated on. It also lacks a refined cutting edge making it less effective as a combat weapon and more of a self-defense or last resort weapon. If the user has 15 control or more, they can manifest the blade with only one hand though to make two swords they would still have to use twice the Ki. These swords last for 5 posts and each sword has a strength of equal to the user's [Control].

*[Ki Projectile Technique]
C-Rank Kijutsu
By swinging their sword at a foe and channeling Ki through their Ki coated weapon, users of this technique are able to fire off a piece of their Ki Sabre coating as a damaging projectile. This bit of coating is just as sharp as the blade itself, and it hits with strength equal to the user's [Control]. The speed of the projectile is equal to the strength of the user, as it is treated as a throwing weapon, and it fades away after 20 meters, becoming useless.
B-Rank
*[Weapon Shaping: Branch-Blade Technique]
B-Rank Kijutsu
The user of this technique focuses more Ki into their coated blade, giving their weapon roughly 20 senbon sized (5 inch long, needle thickness) 'branches' extending off their blade in every direction. These branches are not only as strong as the original Ki coat but are quite sharp, able to pierce through solid stone when swung with the right skill. This gives the blade an omnidirectional damage area while widening it as well as the ability to catch blades on these 'senbon' protrusions, with each protrusion having strength equal to the coating used to make it against breaking off. Breaking a single of the Senbon extentions won't shatter the coating entirely, but multiple breaks will inevitably break the Ki shell, requiring that it be recreated to use any more Ki Sabre techniques.

*[Spirit Extension Technique]
B-Rank Kijutsu
Flowing extra Ki into their blade, the user of this technique swings their weapon and all at once the entire Ki coating slides up the blade, removing the protective qualities of the coating in exchange for essentially doubling the length of the blade for the duration of the Ki coating. This means that seemingly range deficient Samurai can easily surprise a foe with a well-placed slash and continue to press the advantage from a safer distance. The extended blade area gains the defensive qualities of the Ki coating while the normal weapon behind it loses them for the duration. If the extended portion is destroyed the coating dissipates and must be remade.
A-Rank
*[Weapon Shaping: Moon-Blade Technique]
A-Rank Kijutsu
The user of this technique focuses more Ki into their coated blade, causing the shell to extend out into several 'crescent moon' shaped extensions along the cutting edge of their blade that add a 4 inch surface to the blade. The moon shaped extensions will then begin spinning, creating a buzz saw effect along the edge of the blade. While this not only makes it capable of grinding foes, it makes defending against the blade an extraordinarily risky tactical move because of the power of the rotations, which spin with a speed equal to the strength of the current coating. Should the cresent blades be hit by an attack with a strength higher than the durability of the Ki sabre technique used to create them, the coating will be destroyed and must be remade.

*[Zen Shielding Technique]
A-Rank Kijutsu
Funneling Ki into their blade, the user of this technique essentially 'overcharges' the Ki shell of their weapon and causes it to expand to form a 5 meter diameter circular shield off the tip of their weapon. This extremely strong defensive barrier loses all of the cutting properties of the normal technique but gains density and resistance to elements, being able to block most techniques and negate hits up to the strength of the current Ki sabre coating. This shield can be upheld for a maximum of 2 posts, and if the shield is destroyed during this time the Ki shell of the weapon will dissipate and must be remade. If it is not destroyed however, the coating will return to the blade.

*[Crescent Blade Technique]
A-Rank Kijutsu
After funneling a large amount of Ki into the coating of their weapon, the blade of the weapon will begin to glow brighter than normal for a moment. The user will then swing their blade multiple times, sending out blades of Ki that move with speed and strength equal to the strength of the user. The blades created by this attack are 5 meters long and dissipate after reaching a range of 40 meters, but can cut with the same sharpness that a sword itself could cut with. The user can throw out up to 5 blades with one casting of this technique. The user also has a 3 post time limit to use all five charges of the technique, otherwise the technique will end prematurely and the Ki will be wasted.
S-Rank
*[Blade of Unending Peace]
S-Rank Kijutsu
The pinnacle of common Ki Sabre techniques, the user funnels a large amount of Ki into their blade which causes an immediate vibrant glow emanating from the center of the blade. Condensed Ki coats the outside from this core infusion, making it resistant to Ninjutsu techniques and nullifying detrimental properties of the blade as well as enhancing it's integrity. This allows the blade to resist damage up to the user's [Control] in strength and directly attack Ninjutsu techniques as if they were solid, or bat them away. Additionally the Ki in the core leaks out when the blade impacts solid objects, expelling a B-rank explosion worth of concussive energy into the target per hit. This technique is incredibly draining and the user temporarily loses 2 Endurance per post while active. This technique may be maintained indefinitely or until the user runs out of Endurance.
