Zoukane, Jinseie
["Strength is struggling against weakness with every breath."]
General Information Age: 18
Gender: Male
Height: 6'3
Weight: 174lbs
Physical Features: Jinseie's body is well toned for his age, toned and well maintained with muscles greatly defined. His weight is muscle and he is very sleek, no bulging areas on his form. His body type underneath the muscles and hair is quite handsome and attractive with some slightly light features that make him still look relatively boyish. His face has a slight heart shape to it with his chin pointed very slightly, with smooth skin. His shinobi career has carved him a small variety of training and injury scars across his body to the array of scar patterns formed elsewhere from surviving damage and injury during missions. Memorable scars include a gash across his side and a puncture scar in his lower abdomen. Jinseie's hair is shoulder blade length and a sun-orange color. It is kept in a bushy mop-top that hangs loose around most of his head. It dangles in various spikes around his face, obscuring most of his forehead and eyes. He keeps it clean but it looks mostly unbrushed. Obscured behind this thick hair, Jinseie's eyes are a half-moon shape and his eyelids seem to be naturally half down in such a way that half his pupil is exposed. His eyes are a peaceful light blue color and he has a placid expression in them. They are extremely expressive however, giving away his emotions in clear ways if he's not trying to hide or mask them.
Clothing/Accessories: Dressed practically and professionally in almost all situations, Jinseie's defining and most noticeable feature is his knee-length yukata jacket. A deep gray color and made of rugged wool fabric with a soft lining inside that deters moisture. It's sleeves only extend down to Jinseie's elbows and it comes down to about the knees at the bottom. It has no buttons or zippers and around the inside and outside of the coat is covered by a length of deep green cloth. This includes the cuffs of the sleeves as well. Jinseie's Forehead Protector is sewn into the right shoulder of Jinseie's coat, right where the joint of his arm connects into the shoulder.
Underneath the jacket Jinseie wears a sleek black body suit that starts at halfway down his neck and goes down over his chest, waist and down to the ankles. It also covers his arms down to and past the wrist, coming down to cover just above his wrist on his hands. The suit is skin-tight and clings to muscles and the body well, it is also made of a material that moves and breathes well. Partially water-resistant and made of woven cloth, it is a fairly standard shinobi stealth suit.
His waist is decorated by two things. The first is a dark belt the same color as the cloth of his coat, which runs around the waist of his stealth suit. It is about as thick as a wrist and made of banded, woven cloth similar to a rope. Woven into the belt fabric hangs the second, which is a knee length open waist cloth that is also dark gray in color but the outside is decorated by deep green. This keeps him decent while retaining full mobility. In addition, tied to his belt is a fairly sized weapon pouch that hangs on his left side, under the waist shroud, with a part in the shroud designed to allow him to reach inside and back out easily.
On his feet are a pair of typical shinobi sandals, dark brown in color of the wood with black straps running crisscrossed over the top of Jinseie's feet, connecting each side of the sandals in four places. On his feet he also wears a pair of ankle socks made of the same material as his stealth suit.

Jinseie is however impatient with himself to a degree, stemming from an internalized fear of falling into old habits and disappointing others, though perhaps himself as well. These moments do not represent a loss of confidence but instead are indicative of Jinseie's younger days and are mostly triggered by stress, or feelings of failure. He still believes he can do what he sets his mind to, but he believes he is not doing it fast enough or well enough and needs to do more. These moments are often joined with fits of energy or almost manic mood switches as he attempts to rectify whatever internal failing he feels he has displayed, though these rarely if ever make sense to an outside perspective. Jinseie moves at his own pace and when he feels he has lagged behind what he is comfortable with, he will push to catch up.
What makes him fit in perfectly with his fellow Shinobi is a steadfast, firm belief and faith in Iwagakure. He stands as a soldier like any good shinobi and yet this belief and doctrine were not ingrained in him, for his parents never pushed ideology on him, instead this patriotism was born of experience and thought, finding strength in the ideals of Iwagakure; Unyielding, unbreaking, weathering all storms before it and in this he finds much of his confidence and comfort. If he were to have his faith in the village shaken, this might undermine much of his personal philosophy, but thankfully he is ultimately convinced of what his home stands for and would not likely be receptive to such thoughts easily.
He is an adaptive learner and one who is is quick witted enough to understand new concepts quickly, but he has a conversely light absentminded habit of not paying keen attention to things unless he is intrigued by them, or if they are made readily important. He can remember faces and names if he is introduced to someone or meets someone in person, but showing him a file or a description of someone and he will take some time to recognize them. Jinseie is also intelligent to a fair degree, rarely found lacking in wit, but this is also not high intellect or anything remotely approaching a learned, well-read man. He reads, he studies and he can digest concepts at an acceptable pace but his only true shining comes during combat in that arena, but he is intuitive to a degree and is not easily confused even by those more intelligent or cleverly spoken than him.
One fascinating aspect of Jinseie is his love of building things and working with his hands which gives him a variety of hobbies. Carpentry, masonry, sculpting, Jinseie picks up talents at an interesting rate and his private home is decorated well with crafts and works produced during these experiments. Jinseie has also begun attempting to learn smithing and metallurgy, but it is something he pursues slowly as things go forward. He is also a bit of a builder, having been responsible for several additions to his home and working around the village as well. In fact, one of Jinseie's private interests is working alongside civilian construction groups or miners, often employing himself during his downtime. Aside from extra money, which Jinseie finds ways to spend, it also provides him a solid grounding he feels he lacks at times and is one of the few times he actively seeks connections, though he rarely makes close friends during these times.
Verbally and mentally, Jinseie is somewhat blunt and brash with his words, though makes attempts to be polite where possible or necessary. He tells the truth and expects the same, and will return blow for blow if someone insults or demeans him, though he is capable of accepting reprimand or criticism in the same vein...As long as those who dish it out are superior to him in rank, skill, or willing to accept returns of the same where it happens. He is somewhat more patient with those lower in rank or younger in age, having an almost brotherly or mentor attitude towards children of the village and he volunteers time at training grounds. He has at times also provided his talents and skills as an instructor for Academy classes who's primary instructor is on assignment or otherwise indisposed, enjoying the act of instructing others.
Morally and ethically Jinseie is a good person and follows the laws of Iwagakure, but he is comfortable adjacent to the gray of morality in a very real way. He has no qualms with killing and has no overblown sense of honor or dramatics that others might have. Simple, clean and efficient is his style and it reflects even there. This means that at times Jinseie's mood and overall demeanor can shift in a very necessary fashion from outgoing and quick-witted to quiet and focused, though it is not so much a personality switch as it is a method of distancing those aspects of himself. He does not let what he does burden who he is and the reverse is equally true. He is a shinobi and a man, a tool for the village and a child of it. These are not two identities that cannot co-exist, they necessary realities.
This aspect of his personality bleeds into his combat doctrine and methodology. Pragmatic, battle savvy and experienced in multiple methods of fighting, Jinseie believes in a quick and brutal execution style of combat but is absolutely willing and capable of adapting as necessary. Traditionally he will utilize hard, overpowering Taijutsu techniques but he is capable of using weaponry as well, though not to a degree that some would consider trained, he mostly utilizes them as methods to deal with situations, tools instead of weapons. Fully trained in most basic shinobi arts aside from Taijutsu, he does eschew most Genjutsu though he has studied them and as such is somewhat lacking against them. He has some basic Iijutsu training and mostly uses it in minor capacities to keep himself or others operating under combat conditions. First aid on the battlefield is meant to sustain life to keep fighting, nothing more, and he uses it in that way. He is also a firm practitioner of Doton and has exhaustive, some might say monstrous, stamina for his size and weight.
In short, Jinseie hits hard and keeps fighting until someone else is down, no matter how he chooses to fight and as a personal rule he prefers to kill his opponents rather than fight them again. He knows someone who can predict his attacks is the most dangerous kind of enemy.
Arguably one could say that Jinseie's biggest flaw is a sense of disconnection from the world around him unless dragged into it. He pursues his own interests and needs and though those often involve protecting or bettering his village, they usually do not fall into clan politics or village gossip and he is about as likely to hear or pay attention to a rumor as he is to jump off The Wall. This means that unless directly told he tends not to pick up on small talk and details of the world around him unless in situations it's called for which can make him seem quite air-headed at times.

Wakizashi
A one and a half foot long bladed steel wakizashi with a simple design that eschews all decoration or guard. Handle and sheath are made of carved, octagonal shaped oak wood darkened by the fire-hardening and carbon coating that it has undergone. Usually tied inside his waist shroud.
Boukan Ekikana, The Pipe Hammer
Boukan Ekikana is essentially, in basic purpose, a large hammer shaped like a pipe. The shaft of the hammer is about a seven inches wide and roughly four inches around, making it comfortable to hold but very sturdy. The shaft is made of treated and hardened wood coated in a thin later of lacquer. Metal rings run over the shaft every six inches, from the bottom to the top connecting to the pipe. There is a small, six inch spike instead of a mouth piece on the end of the pipe, allowing it to penetrate most soft materials with ease.
The head of the 'hammer' is shaped like a pipe bowl with one side, the one usually pointing down, having a spike similar to the one on the bottom of the shaft, but this one is a little larger, being roughly eight inches long. The hammer head is shaped like an actual pipe bowl with four Tengu-like carvings holding it up and the bowl is shaped to look like it's covered in flames, though all of this is made of brass metal. The bowl is not open but instead has a closed mouth to allow for hitting. The head of the hammer is made entirely of metal and the hitting end of the hammer is around a foot and a half by a foot and a half wide and very deep.
The only really unique part of the weapon is the shaft, as it can collapse or expand. At it's smallest, it is four feet long. At it's largest, it can extend up to Twelve feet. The metal rings are actually connectors of segments of the staff. When turned the right way, they collapse the pieces of wood into one another like sheets. Twisting it back the opposite way locks it in place.
This is carried by Jinseie on his back, behind his waist with the head on his left side and the end of the handle on the right side. Two straps on the back of his stealth suit have small metal clasps that hold it in place and hold it to his back.
Weapon Pouch
This is a 6inx9in pack rests under his waist shroud. It is dark green in color, with a golden clasp to lock it in place. It's contents are:

History
History In The StonesShow
Born to a pair of unwed Chuunin who met during a mission, Jinseie was conceived sometime during that same assignment and upon their return, they retired to prepare for his birth and took to work inside the village. Thus, Jinseie was born into a loving environment concerned foremost for his happiness and not the village itself, though his family did it's best to still provide for Iwagakure during this time. They wanted Jinseie to live a happy life and to grow up cared for, perhaps reflecting their own upbringing and trials during their youth; Perhaps this wish was granted, for Jinseie was born healthy and by all accounts happy, cared for by his parents during his formative years well. He was smart, well in body and took to most things like a stone rolling downhill, collecting bits and pieces to form wholes unique to himself. His parents were proud of him quickly.
As he grew closer to Academy age, his parents began to realize Jinseie had made few friends or close connections and even playing with other children he was slightly aloof. To remedy this they enrolled him into the academy, knowing Jinseie's nature would make him an effective shinobi and give him a chance to grow closer to his village and peers, yet this seemed to backfire to some degree. True enough Jinseie was an excellent student and while he did not make any particular waves, some took notice of his natural talents yet his lack of drive frustrated many who watched over him, prompting his relegation to the back of most classes or lessons and oddly Jinseie did not mind. To him there was no great rush or need for him to pour effort into the lessons, and his natural talent was enough to put him in the average spectrum of most ninja areas. He graduated without fanfare or with any special honors, but he became a Genin all the same.
His parents began to teach them their skills from their Chuunin days and Jinseie learned well, and began studying his own techniques, but even with his talents he spent just as much of his time reclining in the training fields, watching clouds or exploring the village. His missions were simple and completed efficiently and effectively, but none of them were challenging or pushed him to any degree and though he tasted success, he was still counted in the lower rung of Genin even as he grew older and older. This lack of ambition seemed to define his career and life, to the point he and his parents both seemed resigned to his lower status and advancement.
Changes began slowly, with Jinseie's meeting of a chuunin named Eikei who helped him after a small training injury, Eikei being a medically inclined man who bandaged Jinseie up and told him to take it easy; When Jinseie expressed interest in Iijutsu, Eikei took him under his wing and the two became something of fast friends, Eikei extroverted enough to pierce Jinseie's quiet nature. Teaching Jinseie basic medical techniques and how to care for himself became something of a hobby for Eikei, while Jinseie took to training more and more intensely to practice the Iijutsu that he was taught, until Jinseie had come to admire the man. Eikei was driven and cared deeply for the village of his birth, wanting to protect it and it's people. This mindset seemed to rub off on Jinseie to some degree, though it was never quite perfect as Jinseie did begin to train and apply himself better, but it ended up where he started every time.
Then Eikei left on a mission, a long-term assignment with his team to find and deal with several bandits who had been raiding many of the villages on the border of Rock Country. Eikei's absence caused a sort of crisis of faith in Jinseie as he realized that without Eikei, he had no motivation to continue his studies...But Eikei had lit a fire in him and Jinseie found ways to use it, channeling it into a new drive. Perhaps it was a desire to reach the same level as Eikei, or perhaps it was an inner fire Jinseie had not known he held until the, but his training began to grow exponentially more reckless and exhaustive even as he began taking mission after mission at a high pace, pushing himself in a complete reversal of his usual mindset and pace. What Jinseie himself defined and felt during this time is known only to him, but his parents could almost say he seemed scared during this time; Terrified, perhaps, like a wild animal fighting with all it's strength when backed into a corner.
Perhaps it was a fear of being left behind, or perhaps it was just a fear of stagnation.
Whatever it was, it pushed Jinseie incredibly. He took the Chuunin Exam by himself and completed it with glowing remarks, he began taking difficult missions often alone or with small groups; His talents and knowledge even began to be directed towards training and leadership to his juniors and overall, Jinseie began to grow exceptionally but it was all framed by his missing of his friend and as time wore on, Jinseie seemed to grow once again more and more into his old habits. Without Eikei there to give him nudges, Jinseie reverted slowly until this, too, was interrupted.
Eikei had died. The details were sketchy, the truth shrouded in reports and briefings Jinseie was not a part of; Not even Eikei's family was sure of the truth, only that a body has been discovered and his teammates had not been found yet. Jinseie reacted with a quiet sadness, nights spent sitting at a grave in a small field of them, smoking a pipe Eikei had given him during their friendship, perhaps as a connection to the man who he'd begun to think of as an older brother, perhaps at least a mentor. Yet his death laid a foundation in Jinseie as well and he picked himself up and began walking headfirst into the future, knowing that he had a debt to repay in himself; Eikei had believed in Iwagakure and Jinseie became determined to see that through, to protect and nurture the village in the man's stead. He was not just growing for himself anymore, but for an ideal someone close to him had given to him.
With this purpose in mind Jinseie reapplied himself, perhaps even more than before, and now pushes to new heights with each day in memory of a friend and in honor of a gift he has been given.
