Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Mitsuo possess fairly attractive facial features with a well-defined jawline and accurately proportional eyes, nose and mouth. His hair is auburn in color and is typically kept short and well managed. His eyes are amber in color with the arcus of the eye glowing auburn.
  • Body:Mitsuo's body is well defined with strong muscle and low body fat. When paired with his above average height, this can give Mitsuo a rather attractive yet intimidating appearance. Additionally, having worked in the forges for a number of years, his body has an occasional burn mark here or there.
  • Notable Features:Like all Enkouten, Mitsuo's skin is also dark in color.
Clothing/Accessories: Mitsuo's upper body consists of a loose-fitting hooded long jacket that ends at his mid-thigh. The jacket is a dark gray color adorned with a vibrant orange pattern and trim with the Enkouten clan symbol on the back. The sleeves of the jacket are commonly rolled up to the elbow. Under the jacket he wears a simple burnt orange fitted tank top and a small metal pendant in the shape of his clan symbol that he forged himself at a young age. His clan Brand Band, crimson in color, is tied around his upper left arm under the jacket. His lower body consists of comfortable light gray pants and light brown shoes with his weapon pouches attached to his belt.
Personality:
Extroverted in nature, Mitsuo is openly friendly and outgoing making him easily approachable even by those who do not know him. Like many of his fellow clan members, Mitsuo considers himself to be fairly progressive, often accepting the traits of those others may consider odd and he is fiercely loyal and protective of those he considers his friends.

Unlike many of his fellow shinobi peers, Mitsuo does not aspire to be Tsuchikage nor does he aspire to be remembered as one of the strongest shinobi in Iwagakure. Instead, Mitsuo desires to become a shinobi that is well regarded within his clan for both his combat strength and his strong moral character. As such, he fears being rejected by his clan and avoids any action that may bring dishonor to him or his family.

Mitsuo also has an avid passion for metalwork. Mitsuo was exposed to the art of metalworking at young age, having joined his father in the smithy as a child. Having learned the basics by the time he entered the academy, the artistic nature of the process appealed to Mitsuo and before long he was creating small metal trinkets to be sold by the clan. Now, as a shinobi, Mitsuo will often return to the smithy in his free time or when he needs to think as he finds the now familiar process mentally relaxing.

In combat, Mitsuo can best be described as being 'tactfully aggressive'. He will often times use his elemental ninjutsu techniques to manipulate the battlefield to his advantage before engaging in close-courter combat utilizing his taijutsu techniques. By manipulating the battlefield first, he is able to restrict his opponent's movement options, especially when using Youton, allowing him to then overwhelm them using his taijutsu.

Youton
Born to the Enkouten clan, this user is able to utilize Lava Release, a fusion composed of Doton and Katon, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require Youton. Youton has a melting effect.
Passive (Melting/Hardening)Show
Youton melts in all its techniques, making it a powerful offensive and defensive ability. Enkouton are resistant to Youton for short periods of time, but can be just as damaged by it as a normal person, even by their own techniques, if exposed for too long. The melting quality of Youton burns at such an high temperature that it tends to encapsulate everything in it's path. Despite this, however, weaker youton jutsu struggle to sustain themselves and tend to only give weaker burns to those who come in contact with it. Youton have been known to dull weapons, or even melt weapons at high levels, and flow through defensive jutsu. More importantly, the melting power of youton means that youton techniques passively reduce the strength of anything they're in contact with by 1/4th th strength of the youton jutsu per post after contact. This means a 20 strength youton technique would do 20 strength of damage at impact, then melt at 5 strength per post until it hardened. This allows youton jutsu to substantially weaken defenses over time.
Hardening:
Youton jutsu naturally harden over the course of time. Below is a chart for the longest a youton jutsu can sustain itself. The length of a jutsu is a given, but can be specified to be less than the listed amount should the user so desire. Once hardened, Youton jutsu have only 1 strength, being extremely brittle.

Doton has a passive effect of Endurance, which means that it's power is retained throughout the entirety of the jutsu. All of a single doton jutsu retains the strength of the jutsu, even after the jutsu has been destroyed, and unlike other jutsu, doton does not fade when destroyed. This means that if a doton barrier with 25 strength is cut in half and falls to the ground, a part of that barrier could be picked up and carried as a hand held shield which would still have 25 strength, despite being a fractured part of a jutsu. This creates incredibly potent defenses, making doton a popular affinity among defensive fighters.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Kouton, and advanced form of Doton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Kouton affinity. Kouton has an resisting effect. Those without the Elemental Specialization cannot make custom Kouton jutsu.

Kouton has a resisting effect. This means that Kouton jutsu ignore the effects of other affinities, regardless of their nature. If a Kouton spear was thrown through a water shield, the spear would not be caught by the shield, nor would it be destroyed by Sankaton, or cut by Fuuton. This resisting effect does not apply to active effects by jutsu. This means a fuuton jutsu that cuts with 30 strength would still cut through a 20 strength kouton shield, but it would not be affected by the secondary cutting by Fuuton. This makes Kouton very effective for breaking through and penetrating defenses that opponents expect to protect them. It's hardy nature makes Kouton very popular among Doton users.

The fundamental skill of [Close Quarters Combat] indicates the user's proficiency to efficiently utilize martial arts and advanced combat moves involving the body, for example but not limited to, advanced kicks, grapples, advanced punches, etc.
Medicine:
The fundamental skill of [Medicine] describes the user’s mental and physical ability to perform traditional and mainstream medicinal practices. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Deft Hands:
The fundamental skill of [Deft Hands] indicates the user’s proficiency with using their hands in very specific and complex movements, like sleight of hand and targeting very small and specific points on an opponent’s body. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu in various ways.

Genjutsu

Historical Accounts Born into the Enkouten clan, his father a clan blacksmith and his mother a nurse in the clan clinic, Mitsuo's early life was disciplined yet loving. He was taught early on about the importance of self discipline and respect, especially within the confines of his clan. At an early age, Mitsuo began accompanying his father to the smithy where he was taught the basics of metalwork. Taking an avid interest in the art, Mitsuo quickly developed into an adept forger for his age and by the time he entered the Iwagakure academy, he was capable of forging and shaping various metal trinkets that his family would sell to both Iwagakure citizens and other clan members.

When he was not at the smithy with his father, other members of the clan were teaching him how to be self-sustaining, whether it be learning to cook from his grandparents, learning the basics of medicine from his mother, foraging for resources with his cousins, or joining the occasional boar hunt with his father and his uncles. Over time, Mitsuo became a capable hunter and gatherer, but he never had any talent for cooking.

At the age of 8, Mitsuo entered the Iwagakure shinobi academy as required by his clan. While he showed little talent for genjutsu and only average talent with ninjutsu, Mitsuo found that he was quite capable in areas of taijutsu. As an Enkouten, his above average size and musculature (even at young age) gave him an edge against his training opponents. Deciding to hone his taijutsu skills, Mitsuo quickly became one of the best hand to hand fighters in his class which offset his rather disappointing skills in genjutsu. Eventually, at the age of 13, Mitsuo graduated from the academy as a Genin of Iwagakure. Unlike some of the other members of his clan, Mitsuo decided to continue down the path of the shinobi rather than return to a 'normal' job within his clan compound. While his choice worried his mother, his father respected his decision and told him that he would always have a place at the smithy should he decide that the shinobi life wasn't for him.

As a genin, Mitsuo was eventually paired up with one of his former classmates from the academy, a young girl from named Shiori, with both of them placed under the guidance of one of the village Jounin. Together, the squad of three embarked on several missions together with each one becoming more difficult than the last. During this time, Mitsuo found that he and Shiori's fighting styles worked well together as his manipulation of the battlefield using youton followed by close courter combat was nicely complimented by her versitile ranged attacks.
After several years of training and completing missions together, Mitsuo's and Shiori's jounin teacher designated them as candidates for promotion to the rank of chuunin. While they were both nervous about the prospect of the test, they felt confident that together they could take on the challenge. On the day of the test, Mitsuo and Shiori faced off against their chuunin opponent and, while the fight was not easy, together they managed to hold their own against their opponent before finally subduing him. Satisfied with the pair's ability to work together, they both moved on to the interview portion of the test where they mental capability was assessed by the panel of judges. After an hours long interview, both Mitsuo and Shiori emerged as a Chuunin of hidden rock village.

As newly minted chuunin, at the age of 16, Mitsuo and Shiori went their separate ways as teammates with Shiori being recruited into the recon and intelligence divisions. Excited about his new rank, Mitsuo teamed up with his old friend Akari, Tatsuo and began taking completing missions. Along the way, Mitsuo met Akari, Kotaru, a young Akari genin, when the boy entered his family shop looking for a necklace. Though the boy was originally cold and distant towards Mitsuo, he eventually warmed to the Enkouten's charm and joined Mitsuo and Tatsuo on their missions thereafter.

After several missions together, including helping the monks of the Iron Shrine, going on a treasure hunt, and exploring the depths of the recently discovered Catacombs in Iwagakure, Mitsuo was promoted to the rank of Special Jounin along with his teammates. Soon after obtaining his promotion, Mitsuo found himself on the brink of an inter-clan incident when he infiltrated the arena fights of the Akari compound in an attempt to watch and support his two Akari teammates as they fought for their lives. While not an Akari himself, Mitsuo disguised himself so as to look the part, and observed, for the first time, what the Akari clan was truly like. It was vicious and bloody, with the crowd so bloodthirsty that Mitsuo could feel their murderous intent even though none of it was aimed at him. Unbeknownst to him, he had been seated next to one of the clan elders the entire time, though it wasn't until afterwards that he was informed of this. When the crowd suddenly began to rush the field at the conclusion of Kota's victory, Mitsuo found himself rushing to the aid of his friends and their family before fighting their way to safety. After all was said and done, Mitsuo felt that he had obtained a secret insight into the clan of his teammates, one that outsiders weren't supposed to experience.

As a trio, Mitsuo and his team completed several missions within the depths of the Catacombs, though none of them particularly enjoyed it. Though they had only just been promoted to the rank of Special Jounin, their work during these and other missions quickly earned them a promotion to the rank of Jounin.

Once more diving into the depths of Catacombs with his team, Mitsuo and his friends found themselves fighting for their lives against a monolithic Leviathan worm which had been released from the spirit realm. The fight pushed all of them to their limits and further beyond. Tatsuo was swallowed by the Leviathan and almost crushed within its stomach, Mitsuo exhausted his supply of chakra to buy Kota time to retreat before Tatsuo cut himself free, piercing its heart and tearing his way out of its chest.

After slaying the Leviathan worm, the team was found and rescued by a colony of spirits also unleashed from the mysterious, ancient fuuinjutsu lining the deep recesses of the Catacombs. A spirit formed of lava and obsidian was their guide within the small colony village and explained what it knew surrounding the Leviathan, the fuuinjutsu, and its own colony before helping the trio back to the FOB at the beginning of the Catacombs where they were taken to actual hospitals within Iwagakure no Sato for medical treatment. Shortly after, due to this and many other missions, Mitsuo and his team were promoted to the Rank of Bannin.

Soon after his promotion, the shinobi world was engulfed in war. As a bannin of Iwagakure, Mitsuo was regularly on the front lines against opposing forces, rarely taking breaks to return to the village at all. During these visits, however, Mitsuo managed to rekindle his relationship with Akari, Misato, Tatsuo's younger sister, after she nearly died from an injury sustained in the war. Though she had previously ended their relationship due to fears that their union would bring the wrath of the Akari down upon them, the pair now found themselves willing to take on that risk, given the wartime circumstances. Before the pair could be wed, they soon found themselves expecting a child together, their daughter Harue being born a little more than a year into the war. Always one to be big on family, Mitsuo found himself overjoyed to be a father, and soon after, despite heavy opposition from both of their clans, he and Misato were wed in an intimate ceremony.

Less than a year before the war ended, Mitsuo suffered a near fatal injury in battle, finding himself in the hospital for several months and unable to return to the front lines even after release. Though little remains of the injury, the near death incident made Mitsuo consider all that he could have lost and all those that would have been affected should he have actually died in that battle. Months after the end of the war, Mitsuo spoke with Tatsuo about his concerns and uncertainty about returning to the shinobi life and together they agreed that Mitsuo and his family would relocate north of the village to Coaltown where he would act as governor and protector to the region while building it up into a powerhouse of resource production and innovation.

After performing the required hand seals, the user will expel a cloud of metallic pebbles in a cone reaching 10m from themselves and expanding to 5m wide at [Control] speed. The pellets strike with [Control] strength and have spiked edges for maximum damage.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will coat their hands in a silvery metal. This metal can sit on their hands for up to 3 posts before falling to useless pieces. The metal will turn into sharp 4 inch spikes at [Control] Speed that break if struck by a blow with more than [Control] Strength.

After performing the necessary hand seals, the user can create up to two projectiles out of metal with [Control] Strength at [Control] Speed. This includes kunai, senbon, shuriken, chakrams and other similar sized throwing weapons.

After performing the required hand seals, the user will create a hollow ball of steel about the size of a soccer ball. They will then fire this ball at [Control] speed in a single direction for up to 10 meters. Upon contact or reaching its maximum range, the ball will detonate with [Control] Strength, showering the effected area in metal shards.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will channel chakra into a metal weapon they are holding. Upon throwing or swinging that weapon, they are then able to cause a 15cm long needle to be launched from within that weapon at [Control] speed in a single direction at any point along its trajectory. This needle will strike with [Control] strength.

Lion's Claws

After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra into both of their hands, forming a pair of metal claw-like gauntlets at [Control] speed covering their hands and forearms. Each claw extends 3" from the fingers on both hands and can withstand strikes of [Control] strength.

Weapon Make: Dual Tanto
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra into both of their hands, creating a 15" tanto (8.5" blade, 6.5" handle) in each hand at [Control] speed. These tanto have a sharp bladed edge and are capable of withstanding strikes up to [Control] strength.

Weapon Make: Bow and Arrow

After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra into one of his hands, creating a 65" recurve bow at [Control] speed. This jutsu will also spawn a quiver at the user's hip with 10 kouton arrows which can each be launched using the recurve bow.

After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra into the quiver created by Weapon Make: Bow and Arrow, forming 15 arrows at [Control] speed.

Scorpion's Tail

After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra into the spot at the base of their spin, causing a 4' long metal tail to form at [Control] speed. This tail is 2" in diameter and possess a slightly curved 8" double-sided blade at the end. This tail can be manipulated as an extension of the user's body with [Control] speed and strength.

Jungle Beast Armor
B-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra throughout their entire body, causing a suit of armor to form at [Control] speed. This armor comes equipped with 3" claws on each hand as well as on the boot of each foot. A steel lion's face will form on the breastplate of the armor, with smaller ones forming on the shoulder of each arm, though these are primarily cosmetic. This armor can withstand strikes of up to [Control] strength and grants the user the Kouton passive.

After performing the required hand seals, the user will kneel down and place their hands on the ground. Then, three 40 meter long chains with 50cm long blades at the end will burst from the ground toward a target at [Control] speed. They will bind the target with [Control] strength and attempt to either stake them into the ground or impale them upon the blades in the end of the chains. The chains will attempt to chase for 3 posts and if caught will remain taut and strong for 3 extra posts.

After performing the required hand seals, the user will channel kouton chakra into a metal weapon they are holding. Over the next 5 posts, the user is able to extend that blade by up to 40 meters, or retract it to its original size, at will. This will occur at [Control] speed and if used to attack an opponent it will also strike with [Control] strength. Because of the chakra running through the blade, it will not actually seem heavier or unbalanced from its normal parameters.

After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra into their back, causing them to sprout a pair of 5ft wings at [Control] speed which can be used to facilitate flight. These wings can withstand strikes up to [Control] strength.

Prerequisite: Falcon's Wings
After performing the necessary handseals, the user will flow kouton chakra throughout his entire body, causing a suit of armor to form at [Control] speed. This armor comes equipped with 4 inch claws on each hand as well as talon like boots with 7inch claws on each foot that can be manipulated like an extension of the user's body. Additionally, this armor sprouts a pair of 5ft wings on the user's back which can be used to facilitate flight. This armor can withstand strikes up to [Control] strength and grants the user the Kouton passive.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will kick one of their legs at the ground, skimming their foot just over the surface of the earth. Chakra at the bottom of the foot converts the ground into lava, splashing forward up to 10 meters with a speed equal to the user’s strength and an impact strength equal to the user’s control.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will focus chakra into one of their fists before punching forward. This causes a burst of lava to leap forward from the fist with a speed equal to the user’s strength and an impact strength equal to the user’s control.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will form a sphere of lava the size of a tennis ball in one hand. The sphere can be thrown and explodes on impact, with a blast radius of 10 meters in any direction, and a strength equal to the user’s control. This jutsu causes 1st degree burns. The lava hardens over the span of 3 posts, reducing the strength of impacted objects by 1 strength per post.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user focuses chakra through their feet and into the surrounding earth. This causes a circular wall of lava to form directly around the user, shooting upwards from the ground with a speed and impact strength equal to the user’s control stat. After performing a string of hand seals, the user thrusts their hands forward, causing lava to burst from the ground 1 meter ahead of them. The lava then moves forward up to 10 meters with a speed and impact strength equal to the user’s control.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will cover the surface of their body with Youton chakra. Physical contact with the user triggers the technique, causing lava to burst outwards from the point of contact with a speed and impact strength equal to the user’s control. This jutsu causes 1st degree burns. The lava hardens over the span of 3 posts, reducing the strength of impacted objects by 2 strength per post. The jutsu lasts until triggered or for 3 posts, at which point it dissipates harmlessly.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will stomp on the ground to send a wave of Youton chakra rippling out in a 25 meter radius. This wave moves at a strength and speed equal to the user's control stat, potentially unbalancing nearby targets, and leaving puddles of Youton in its wake. These puddles remain for five posts and are five feet deep.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will thrust one hand upwards causing a rush of Youton to burst from the ground within 25 meters of the user. This geyser is 10 feet wide and 5 feet high, moving at a speed and strength equal to the user's control stat. This lasts for 5 posts, hardening over those posts and causing first degree burns.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will bring both hands back in fists to slam against their chest and launch into the sky, from their mouth, an orb of molten Youton lava the size of a basketball. This will trigger molten lava to rain down around the user in a 25 meter area the size of baseballs. The initially coughed lava is launched at, and the lava rains down at, strengths and speed equal to the user's control. This jutsu lasts for a total of 5 posts.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will focus chakra into the ground through their feet. This infuses the ground with Youton chakra, creating a circular trap with a radius of 25 meters with the user at the center. If someone aside from the user were to step within the range, lava would burst upwards with a speed and strength equal to the user’s control stat, causing first degree burns.
