[Organization] Iwagakure no Sato

Post by Archives » Tue Sep 18, 2018 12:23 pm

Iwagakure no Sato
Type of Organization: Central Org
Location of the Organization's Main Base: Rock Country; Minami no Kabe mountain range
Description of the Organization: Iwagakure no Sato is, first and foremost, one of the Five Great Nations within the shinobi world. It is located just north of the high plains of Rock Country deep within the Minami no Kabe mountain range. The village is made entirely of stone, with a surprising bulk of the architectural mass being underground. The villagers of Iwagakure are famous patriots, and take that sense of solidarity into their honor codes, oftentimes to a fault. Iwagakure believes the necessity of brute force, training elite fighters said to be the most competent of all the villages, if not the most numerous.

As the steppes, altitude and location provide horrible agricultural conditions, the village is home to a booming steel industry due to the large amounts of ore found within Rock Country. Iwagakure is also acknowledged as the most proficient village at weapons technology, and in times of war they control a majority of all military exports, supported by the slave trade that has been part of their culture for centuries. While these practices make Iwa arguably the most monetarily prosperous of the Five Great Nations, the bulk of the profits are then funneled back into their military and infrastructure.

The village lies within the Shinan Valley which is located deep within the Minami no Kabe mountain range that essentially splits the southern and northern sections of Rock Country. This makes it nearly impossible to find or stumble on due to its location and several hundred feet of mountains to any side of it that prevent access. The mountains around the village are old and wild, populated heavily by wild tribesmen at best and at worst thick packs of mountain wolves, bears, goats and predatory birds such as hawk and falcon. It is incredibly dangerous to access or escape without knowing the paths and trails of the mountain that Iwagakure Shinobi know. The terrain of the mountains in the Minami no Kabe range make it impossible to directly access Iwagakure from above due to their slanted peaks and incredible height. The most apt example of this are the peaks directly around the space Iwagakure no Sato occupies, known as the Megami no Kiba, or the Goddesses of Fangs. These fifteen hundred feet elevation peaks are incredibly rigid and sturdy made of the most solid minerals and their slant makes them criss-cross over each other like the locked fangs of wolves. The mountains have constant direct sunlight but due to their elevation they are constantly frozen over and only the hardiest of men can live even half-way up their peaks, which are often in a constant state of sub-zero temperature.

Historically, the village branched out from a much smaller military instillation at the center of the village, which now comprises about a 20 square block market district, where most of the village's trade and commerce occurs. The other districts run in a radial fashion outward from this center, with the more affluent and official districts in the north, clan complexes of various flavors somewhere in between, and lower to middle class physical laborers from the engineering, mining, smelting, construction industries living in the Shadow Districts to the south (literally in the shadow of the Wall during the morning hours). All over the village there are multiple training facilities, arenas and private medical complexes specializing in stitching up the various and inevitable bumps and bruises that come with rigorous combat exercise.

The only way into or out of Iwagakure no Sato is The Wall. A massive, one mile thick circular stone wall stretching one hundred and fifty meters into the air and across the entire Shinan Valley that is made entirely of featureless, incredibly compressed stone. There are no gates to The Wall and no discerning features on the outside. The inside section of The Wall has multiple ramparts and guard posts as well as beacon fires and messenger posts. Access to the wall is expressly controlled by its guards who manipulate the Wall with chakra to open, close or reinforce it depending on necessity. The Walls only discerning features are its four small towers, shaped like layered pagodas, each one forty meters tall but extending deep into the wall. These towers house the wall patrols, as well as serving as emergency deployment posts should Iwagakure ever come under attack.

Surprisingly small at first glance, the village of Iwagakure no Sato is actually located a good mile beneath the surface of the ground compared to where most think it occupies. Each building in Iwagakure, large or small, is merely an upper level designed to provide basic functions to the village and the vast majority of actual living space is located deep underground. Houses are built in formations for compounds where each upper building connects into the same lower structure if they provide similar functions. This means that attacks or damage to the upper level of buildings are easily recovered from and the majority of the village's population is located underground at any given time. This has also condensed the surrounding underground of Iwagakure over time into incredibly thick, durable bedrock that is almost impossible to tunnel through in a short time.

Iwagakure no Sato DefensesShow
[The Wall]
S-rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 50 Ninjutsu
Iwagakure no Sato is surrounded by a massive, one-mile thick circular Doton wall stretching one hundred and fifty meters into the air that is made entirely of featureless, incredibly compressed stone. The Wall's only discerning features are its four small towers, shaped like layered pagodas, each one forty meters tall but extending deep into the wall. These towers house the wall patrols, as well as serving as emergency deployment posts should Iwagakure ever come under attack. The Wall requires a Strength of 50 to even begin to break through its mile-thick structure.

[The Grasp of Iwagakure]
S-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: Ninjutsu/Control/Instinct stats of 50, Multiple Sensors whose Stamina reaches or exceeds a combined total of 75
A Sensory technique used to monitor the entirety of Iwagakure no Sato and 3 miles around it. This technique relies on the combined efforts of multiple sensor ninja gathered around a large stone block located within the monitoring area within the Tsuchikage’s tower. It enables the identification of all chakra signatures within the village of Iwagakure no Sato and 3 miles around it and stores the information it within the stone block. Identification of any unfamiliar chakra signatures is brought to the attention of the users of this technique if they pass into its range.

[The Story of Iwagakure]
S-Rank Augment Fuuinjutsu
Prerequisite: [The Grasp of Iwagakure]
A secondary system based off the Grasp of Iwagakure, this fuuinjutsu centralizes and condenses the information conveyed by The Grasp of Iwagakure into a large stone block kept inside the monitoring area of Iwagakure. This block is infused with various seals that cause it to react to the chakra information and it changes shape to reflect the current state of the village. This includes the air above the village, the village itself, the surrounding area and the underground sections of the village. This allows real time viewing of the information gathered by the Grasp of Iwagakure but cannot focus on specific areas or situations, relying on the sensors themselves to convey information that is too minute to pinpoint on the stone.

[Blast Shield: The Wall]
S-rank Augment Fuuinjutsu
Carved into the Wall itself is a massive Augment fuuinjutsu which stretches the entire inside portion of the wall. This augment Fuuinjutsu, once activated, reinforces the Wall with the Kouton element. The Wall takes on a metallic sheen and gains the passive of Kouton. Both the Wall and the fuuinjutsu glow brightly when activated.

[Blast Shield: The Village]
S-rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: Multiple Kouton users with a combined Stamina of 75
A ninjutsu developed to protect the village from those who would try to attack from the air. Multiple Kouton users will perform the needed hand seals and touch the Wall which will spawn a titantic Kouton shield over the village. The shield originates from the Wall and forms inward to create a dome over the village. This dome requires 50 Strength to puncture and has the Kouton passive enabled.

[Doton: Titan]
S-ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 50 Ninjutsu
A technique devised to stop invaders before even reaching the Wall, this technique automatically activates if the Grasp of Iwagakure detects a hostile or unknown chakra signature of 20 Stamina or more. This causes a 50 foot tall Doton golem with its arms shaped like a sword and shield to rise from the ground outside of the Wall, moving like a clone.

[Fuuinjutsu • Drain]
S-Rank Augment Fuuinjutusu
Prerequisite:: 50 Ninjutsu, 50 Control
A seal used by the prison staff to ensure the prisoners are deprived of their stamina and weakened to a point where they cannot escape by themselves. The prison staff will brand the seal, rather than draw it, on any new inmates brought to the installation. When placed, the fuuin reduces the targets Stamina by -10 per post for 5 posts to a minimum of 1 Stamina.

[Fuuinjutsu • Cut Off]
S-Rank Augment Fuuinjutusu
Prerequisite:: 50 Ninjutsu, 50 Control
A seal used by the prison staff to ensure the prisoners are deprived of their strength and weakened to a point where they cannot escape by themselves. The prison staff will brand the seal, rather than draw it, on any new inmates brought to the installation. When placed, the fuuin reduces the targets Strength by -10 per post for 5 posts to a minimum of 1 Strength.

[Fuuinjutsu • Gluttony]
A-Rank Augment Fuuinjutsu
A seal used by the prison staff to ensure the prisoners are deprived of their chakra and weakened to a point where they cannot escape by themselves. The prison staff will brand the seal, rather than draw it, on any new inmates brought to the installation. This seals off certain points of the target's tenketsu, disturbing their chakra flow and blocking it, essentially making the target incapable of utilizing their chakra for jutsu as long as the seal is on them.

[Lock Down]
S-rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 50 Ninjutsu
A Kouton ninjutsu designed to prevent any outbreaks. This technique automatically activates if the Alert sensory ninjutsu detects a hostile or unknown chakra signature of 20 Stamina or more. Kouton blast doors will form in between the entry ways in and out of the actual prison structure to seal off any attempt in or out. These blast doors require 50 Strength to destroy and have the Kouton passive active.

Organization's Outposts/Secondary Base (3/3 Used)
Watch Tower AlphaShow

Name of Outpost: Watch Tower Alpha
Location of Outpost: Rock Country; atop the Owari Plateau
Intent of Outpost: Watch Tower Alpha serves as Iwagakure no Sato’s first line of defense from the southeast portion of Rock Country. The tower is located on the edge of the Owari Plateau and provides a great view of the border between Rock Country and Waterfall. The outpost is a single, large building with multiple watchtowers scattered along its walls with an extremely large pile of wood atop the main tower. The pile serves as the outposts warning system to Iwagakure no Sato, once lit it is a large enough fire to be seen from miles around to alert the village of impending enemy forces. The outpost hosts a medium-sized contingent of guards who rotate between the outpost and the village every 8 months along with an aviary of messenger hawks.
Forward Operating Site BetaShow

Name of Outpost: Forward Operating Site Beta
Location of Outpost: Rock Country; west of the Kosshi Desert
Intent of Outpost: FOS-B serves as Iwagakure no Sato’s first line of defense from the southwest portion of Rock Country. The base is located past the far side of the Kosshi Desert and provides a great view of the border between Rock Country, Pebble Country, and Silver Country. The outpost is comprised of multiple buildings (mess hall, barracks, surveillance room, aviary) with a guarded gate serving as its entrance. At the back of the base is a large tower with an extremely large pile of wood atop it. The pile serves as the outposts warning system to Iwagakure no Sato, once lit it is a large enough fire to be seen from miles around to alert the village of impending enemy forces. The outpost hosts a medium-sized contingent of guards who rotate between the outpost and the village every 8 months.
Maximum Security Detainment and Rehabilitation CenterShow
Name of Base: Maximum Security Detainment and Rehabilitation Center
Location of Base: Northern Wastes of Rock Country, resting in the shadow of the northern side of the Hokkyou Mountain range
Intent of Base: The MS-D&R serves as the penitentiary of Iwagakure no Sato. Heinous criminals, if captured rather than killed, will be sealed off from their chakra and then transported to this facility. The base is located within the Northern Wastes of Rock Country, far away from civilization. The location of the facility is known only to the Bannin and Tsuchikage of Iwagakure no Sato, besides the staff who run the prison. Prisoner transports to this location are guarded by at least one bannin and a squad of elite jounin accompanying them, with the memories of the prison and its travel path sealed off with high level fuuinjutsu upon return to Iwagakure no Sato. The jounin guard for prisoner transports is always the same six jounin, only ever replaced upon the death of a member. The immediate view of the MS-D&RC belays its true structure and purpose. If one were to somehow miraculously stumble upon the base, they’d be treated to a small base with a two story building in the middle with a story and a half stone wall surrounding the entire compound. Four lookout towers are located on the each of the four corners of the wall with several smaller huts serving as barracks for the prison staff spread throughout the compound. The two story building in the center is just a front for the prison itself. Below the building, the ground has been hollowed out, reinforced with steel, and worked into a prison. The structure extends a half mile below the surface of Rock Country with multiple levels containing the populace of the prison. The structure has 9 levels in total, with those of lesser yet still heinous crimes located on the first level. The lower one is imprisoned within the MS-D&RC, the more heinous and dastardly one’s crime is.
