Ishiwara Setsuna

Age: 14

Gender: Female

Height: 5’1”

Weight: 96 lbs.

Physical Features: Setsuna is a petite, lean girl whose most notable features are her long fiery red hair and vibrant blue-violet eyes. She often styles her hair so that it falls in gentle waves and is rarely seen with her hair pulled back or into an updo. Her skin is pale; her face is free of blemishes, though she has faint scarring on her body from her training.

Clothing/Accessories: Setsuna's wardrobe is almost exclusively black. Her casual attire is a variety of black knee-length silk dresses, often with white lace collars embroidered with pearls and and an open keyhole chest cutout. She wears a long, heavy cloak embroidered with gold threads sewn into intricate designs. Her clothing is unmistakably that of a young noblewoman - even though she dresses like a storm cloud. Her combat attire is quite different. Rather than a dress she wears a leather corset top. At the bust, the top has an intricate pattern of woven bands that lead into a choker made of similar material. She wears black shorts, tight to give her freedom of movement. Setsuna wears black thigh-high boots with a low heel. She pairs this outfit with a cloak similar to the one she wears in her casual attire, but made of a lighter material.

Personality:Setsuna has a rather dark and rather gloomy personality. She comes across as uninterested in most things due to her tendency to suppress her emotions, though often she makes it known when she finds a situation annoying or boring. She is neither strongly extroverted nor introverted, which leads to many people who don't know her well unsure of this dimension of her personality. Due to her upbringing she is able to adjust well to social situations; she simply doesn't particularly enjoy doing so. Despite her glum nature, Setsuna has a good sense of humor, something she only shows when she is comfortable. Setsuna becomes more lively when training and during combat since she finds such challenges entertaining and fun.

History On a winter night on the eve of Getsurei, the five-day celebration of the new year, a young and ambitious woman named Tsuru gave birth to a healthy baby girl in Iwagakure. The woman and her husband, Mitsunari, were not natives of the village, but had sought temporary residence there while they planned for their future. She was a happy child who showed interest in her father's obsessive physical training, often emulating him at play time.

When Setsuna was three years old her father took part in the Shiren, the biennial events during which feudal lords are challenged for their territories. The lord of Ainokura, the capital city of a sizable territory in western Rock Country, was defeated in battle and Mitsunari became the new leader of the territory. In a stunning display of brutality he executed six members of former lord's court along with several dozen of his supporters. Although there was an outcry over the cruelty, it quickly settled given the man had rightfully secured his position during the Shiren. Mitsunari soon after moved his wife and daughter to Ainokura, and over the next several years he both successfully defended his position and expanded his territory and wealth.

Now the daughter of a militant feudal lord, Setsuna had to adjust to a completely different lifestyle. She was no longer allowed to be a carefree child. Instead she was taught martial arts and the proper social skills befitting a young noble. Things changed even more when she was five and her mother gave birth to a son, Keiji. To keep Mitsunari in line, the daimyo and the leaders of Iwagakure strong-armed the man into sending his wife and children to live in the hidden village, much to Setsuna's dismay. She became somewhat withdrawn, though she hid her disdain for her new living situation masterfully. A year later Setsuna was enrolled into the Academy, where she honed her physical skills and became familiar with chakra. Despite her talent she was unenthusiastic about her studies, graduating in the middle of her class. At her parents' urging she registered as an active duty shinobi. Now a genin, Setsuna has found herself caught between the expectation of loyalty to her father, and the similar demand from the village.

Ninjutsu
DotonShow
Doton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Doton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the doton affinity. Doton has a passive enduring effect.
Passive (Enduring)Show
Doton has a passive effect of Endurance, which means that it's power is retained throughout the entirety of the jutsu. All of a single doton jutsu retains the strength of the jutsu, even after the jutsu has been destroyed, and unlike other jutsu, doton does not fade when destroyed. This means that if a doton barrier with 25 strength is cut in half and falls to the ground, a part of that barrier could be picked up and carried as a hand held shield which would still have 25 strength, despite being a fractured part of a jutsu. This creates incredibly potent defenses, making doton a popular affinity among defensive fighters.
Kouton AffinityShow
Kouton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Kouton, and advanced form of Doton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Kouton affinity. Kouton has an resisting effect.
Passive (Resisting)Show
Kouton has a resisting effect. This means that Kouton jutsu ignore the effects of other affinities, regardless of their nature. If a Kouton spear was thrown through a water shield, the spear would not be caught by the shield, nor would it be destroyed by Sankaton, or cut by Fuuton. This resisting effect does not apply to active effects by jutsu. This means a fuuton jutsu that cuts with 30 strength would still cut through a 20 strength kouton shield, but it would not be affected by the secondary cutting by Fuuton. This makes Kouton very effective for breaking through and penetrating defenses that opponents expect to protect them. It's hardy nature makes Kouton very popular amoung Doton users.
SensoryShow
color=#209DD3][Sensor[/color]
Sensors are shinobi who are able to activate a sixth sense which can locate and read chakra sources. Sensory is advantageous as it allows shinobi to perceive without using any of their conventional senses, which can easily be deceived. Sensors are able to collect a lot of information through the interpretation of this sixth sense.

DotonShow
Doton • Rock Control
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra into the earth, the user can control up to 5 rocks, no more than 1 meter in diameter, breaking them out of the ground or using existing rocks and hardening them to up to their control in strength. Then with hand gestures alone he can launch them as a group at an opponent at a speed of [Control] and strength of [Control]. The user has limited control over the launch of the rocks, being able to send them in an arc or change their direction one time. They can be sent a maximum distance of 15 meters and must be within 10 meters of the user when initiating the technique.

Doton • Blockade
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user will form a solid stone wall up to 15 meters away from them at [Control] speed. The wall has [Control] strength and can be up to 15x15x5 meters in size.

Doton • Misdirection
D-Rank Ninjutsu
By channeling chakra into the earth the user is able to remove any footprints or otherwise marred areas of earth or create false tracks and markings within a 15-meter diameter of himself, the affected area of earth will blend in seamlessly with its surrounding soil masking any sign of distortion. If used in a streamlined manner this technique can be used passively in order to erase their tracks as they are made making following users trail incredibly difficult by traditional means.

Doton • Landmine
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user will tap their foot on the ground charging up to a 30 meter radius around their foot with explosive chakra. This is armed at [Control] speed. For the next three posts if anyone steps on that area it will explode with at a [Control] Strength explosion.

Doton • Earth Flow
C-Rank Ninjutsu
This simple jutsu only requires the channeling of chakra and contact with the earth within a 30m radius of the designated section of earth. The affected earth in its base form can be up to 15 meters long and wide. By flowing chakra intro the ground the user can cause this section of earth to shift or flow suddenly at a speed equal to [Control], pulling strength of [Control] in an attempt to knock an opponent off balance, sweep them away or put strain on their knee or ankle.
KoutonShow
Kouton • Hidden Needle
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals, the user will channel chakra into a metal weapon they are holding. Upon throwing or swinging that weapon, they are then able to cause a 15cm long needle to be launched from within that weapon at [Control] speed in a single direction at any point along its trajectory. This needle will strike with [Control] strength.

Kouton • Shrapnel Bomb
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the required hand seals, the user will create a hollow ball of steel about the size of a soccer ball. They will then fire this ball at [Control] speed in a single direction for up to 10 meters. Upon contact or reaching its maximum range, the ball will detonate with [Control] Strength, showering the effected area in metal shards.

Repair
D-rank Kouton Ninjutsu
The user will perform the needed hand seals and then touch a damaged piece of equipment up to [Control]x[Control]x[Control]m in size. The metal it is made of will begin to repair itself at [Control] Speed over the course of a post.

Kouton • Wall
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user causes a wall of steel with half-meter spikes on its front to emerge from the ground up to 4 meters in height at [Control] speed. This wall can block attacks up to [Control] strength, and crumbles to useless pieces after 3 posts. If the user so chooses within those 3 posts, or if the structure is not destroyed, they may from the spikes off at [Control] Speed and Strength.

*Kouton • Spray
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals, the user will cause a source of metal larger than a person to start spraying a cloud of needles in a single direction at [Control] Speed and Strength. This cloud goes 20 meters from the point of origin, while also being 10 meters in width.
SensoryShow
*[Sensory Style • Beyond Senses]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: 10 Control
First performing handseals, this sensor jutsu is used by shinobi to feel chakra sources within a radius of 35 meters. While this jutsu is fairly helpful in sensing chakra, it is unable to actually pinpoint specific chakras outside of a 10m radius. This only gives the Shinobi an idea of how many entities with chakra are present in their general area.
Flawless AimShow
Flawless Aim Style:
This style of combat is favored by shinobi preferring to use projectiles, often serving as a staple for ranged taijutsu users. Focusing on the synergy between their hands and senses, they strive to make their lethal skills reach as far as possible with absolute precision.

Requires: [Projectile Weapons] Concentration.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Sentinel Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
Taking multiple projectiles into hand and priming the muscle groups required for launching projectile weapons, the practitioner can quickly shoot projectiles in rapid succession and just as quickly reload. While in this Stance, the practitioner can maintain a near-constant stream of projectile attacks. However, due to the amount of coordination required for this Stance, their movement is limited, suffering a -3 Speed penalty while in this Stance.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Tracking]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After much training and study, the practitioner has learned how to read an opponent's movements and adjust their aim accordingly to compensate without penalty. This Discipline allows the practitioner to accurately hit moving targets, though sudden changes in the opponent's movements will still affect accuracy.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Dead Angle Targeting]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After much training and study, the practitioner has learned how to use projectiles at close range, even point-blank range, with the same Strength as attacks against more distant targets. This Discipline allows the practitioner to use Flawless Aim techniques against melee-range targets without excessive exposure to counterattack and without losing Speed, Strength, or accuracy.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Repeater Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Preparing multiple projectiles, the practitioner launches each of the projectiles at one or more targets. For each target beyond the first, the accuracy of each of the attacks is decreased, suffering a -1 Strength penalty for each additional target.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Arcing Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner can launch projectiles in arcs up and over most obstacles, being able to accurately hit a target that is behind obstructions as if they were in the open. The practitioner must still be able to locate their target by some other means to ensure the projectile will hit its target.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Bouncing Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner launches a projectile at a shallow angle, targeting the ground or a hard surface. The shallow angle of the shot causes the projectile to bounce off of the surface, moving at -1 Speed and striking with -1 Strength after the bounce. This technique can be used to launch an attack from an unexpected angle or to shoot around, over, or under obstacles.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Evasive Maneuvers]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The practitioner has learned how to accurately launch projectiles while moving through the flow of combat. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to accurately launch projectiles while moving at full Speed, while jumping, rolling, sliding off the ground, or while performing other basic combat movements.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Improvised Ammo]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The practitioner knows their own reliance on ammunition can be exploited by the enemy and prepare themselves to acclimate to less than favorable circumstances. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to effectively launch any item, so long as it possesses at least the mass of a standard kunai, as if it were meant to be a projectile weapon without sacrificing accuracy. Attacks using improvised weaponry suffer a decrease in Strength, all such attacks being treated as having -3 Strength.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Forcible Redirection]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner first launches a projectile at -1 Strength. Then, they launch a second projectile at full Strength, targeting the first projectile. The second projectile ricochets off of the first projectile, capable of changing direction within 360 degrees of the location of the first projectile upon impact. The practitioner first launches a projectile at -1 Strength. Then, they launch a second projectile at full Strength, targeting the first projectile. The second projectile ricochets off of the first projectile, capable of changing direction within 360 degrees of the location of the first projectile upon impact. The second projectile is treated as an attack with a -5 Strength penalty.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Hidden Shot]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By launching two projectiles, one immediately after the other, the practitioner attempts to create a decoy for the second. The first projectile is often larger or of equal size, and the second projectile is slightly behind and below it, the second projectile hiding in the first projectile's shadow. This masks the second projectile and makes it more difficult for the opponent to completely avoid. Opponents with a Perception technique equal or higher in rank may be able to see both projectiles clearly within a reasonable distance, though they'll still have to properly defend against it.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Uncanny Shot]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After much training and study, the practitioner is able to launch projectiles from previously impossible positions. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to launch projectile attacks without any detriment to their aim regardless of the position of their body. This includes while contorting their body or making rapid adjustments such as dodging attacks or performing acrobatic maneuvers.
Toryu KenjutsuShow
Toryu:
Toryu, a style of Kenjutsu founded in the Land of Pebbles, melds traditional kenjutsu swordplay with subversive feints and sudden bursts of close-quarters combat, two unyielding hills crashing together to form a mountain. Toryu typically favors the use of the blade with one hand, utilizing the freedom of movement to use one's hands, joints, legs, head, and even the hilt and handle of the sword to make an already deadly style more unpredictable and more lethal. Ignorantly considered a very "unrefined" style by most practitioners of the sword, Toryu is actually one of the most difficult styles of Kenjutsu to learn and master. The very basic premise of the style revolves around the firm control and manipulation of one's own movements and body, some techniques requiring execution while using another attack as a feint or misdirection while not sacrificing strength. The style has no weapon requirements outside of a sword, but many users often prefer kodachi, wakizashi, ninjato, or even tanto, the reduced size and weight of the blades having fewer blind spots and making the user's weapon more mobile.

Requires: [Close Quarters Combat], [Sword Weapons] Concentrations.
*[Toryu • Skipping Stone]
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
The signature Stance of Toryu, practitioners relax the muscles in their bodies, gaining additional flexibility in their movements in how they approach the enemy, how they retreat, how they evade attacks, and how they attack the opponent. This Stance allows the practitioner to more easily read opponent's attacks and defend against them by evading in unusual ways, such as ducking, bending around, and quickly sidestepping attacks without needlessly exposing themselves to additional attacks. This fleet-footed Stance lets the practitioner mix up their movements to confuse and misdirect the opponent, allowing them to attack lesser-known openings in the opponent's guard. It also allows the practitioner to rapidly and reflexively change the angle, position and grip of their weapon with minimal movement, allowing them multiple manners in which they can attack the opponent or defend against attacks.

*[Toryu • Ambidexterity]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.

*[Toryu • Cobblestone Skeleton]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
A practitioner of Toryu is capable of attacking with every part of their body, even their heads. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity and experience with executing palm strikes, heel strikes, knee strikes, elbow strikes, and headbutts/skull bashes just as effectively as regular punches, kicks, and sword strikes. This Discipline allows the practitioner to consistently execute these kinds of attacks while minimizing or eliminating openings in their defenses or shock/damage they would experience while using these kinds of strikes.

*[Toryu • Sundering Gravel]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength.
Designed as a counterattack but also a potent attack by itself, the practitioner will first wait to block or parry an opponent's attack with their weapon. Then, the practitioner will quickly counter with a swift knee strike to the opponent's stomach or diaphragm to stun them or cause them to stagger by winding them, followed by a quick slash or stab to their chest or stomach. The practitioner may choose to use this as an attack instead by immediately leading off with the knee strike if they so wish. Opponents with equal or higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength can resist being winded.

*[Toryu • Pebble Split]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Designed as a counterattack but also a potent attack by itself, the practitioner will first wait to sidestep an attack before countering with a swift elbow strike with their sword hand to the opponent's face to stun them or cause them to stagger by winding them, grabbing the opponent's arm or garment with their unarmed hand to hold them in place. Immediately following the elbow strike, the practitioner will pull the opponent to one side while executing a slash in the opposite direction with their sword hand. Opponents with an Acrobatics technique of equal or higher rank than this technique can escape from the grappling component of this technique.

*[Toryu • Fury Guard]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A technique allowing the practitioner to partially customize their focus on defense or offense, the practitioner guards against attacks while immediately attacking subsequent openings with their free hand. The form this takes depends on which hand they prioritize for defense. Should they choose to guard with their sword hand, the practitioner deflects the attacks outwards, away from the opponent's center of mass where their guard is strongest, and responds by launching unarmed counter-attacks like a punch, elbow, or throw. If they choose to guard with their unarmed hand, the practitioner blocks the attack by intercepting the haft of the weapon or the opponent's wrists with the back of their fist or forearm and counter with more lethal slashes and stabs from their sword.

*[Toryu • Misery Drop]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength.
A variant of the Spite Breaker, the practitioner rushes the opponent and leaps at them, spinning and attempting to land on their shoulders, clinching their legs around the opponent's neck. Should the practitioner succeed, they will forcefully shift all of their weight back, potentially unbalancing the opponent. Opponents with an Acrobatics technique of equal or higher rank than this technique can resist having their guard be disrupted. Otherwise, the opponent will be suddenly thrown back and flipped down before slamming face-first into the ground. The practitioner can roll up onto the opponent's back with this motion, offering a clean stab down into the back of the opponent's skull to finish them off.

*[Toryu • Crushing Despair]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, *[Toryu • Cobblestone Skeleton].
A brutal, raw technique, the practitioner quickly dashes into an opponent's range, often after avoiding an enemy attack, momentarily torquing the muscles in their legs before launching a powerful knee strike directly up into the target's diaphragm and sternum in an attempt to stagger the opponent. Aside from potentially fracturing or even breaking bones, the opponent can potentially be left winded. This sudden attack can potentially open up many vulnerable areas on the opponent's body for possible finishing moves.

*[Toryu • Lethal Familiarity]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Many of the Toryu techniques would put the user in incredibly daring positions where a single mistake could instantly spell disaster for the swordsman. As a result, Toryu practitioners must train themselves constantly to avoid letting their fears distract them from their task. A practitioner with this technique has learned to shut out fear in the heat of combat, allowing them to perform attacks and techniques without the risk of failure due to fear responses.
