  • Face/head: Sayuri has vibrant red-orange hair with bright yellow-orange eyes. Her flesh is a touch paler than most in her clan, though only from a lack of exposure to sun due to the way she normally dresses. Her hair is almost always pulled up into a style known as a 'Romantic French Twist Updo', though if she were to let it down it would actually be long enough to reach the middle of her back.
  • Body: She has a thing but well-muscled form. She is a lean muscled build but still very feminine. Her more feminine features have not suffered from her training nor been minimized by it, and so she manages to keep a balance in her build.
  • Notable Features: Sayuri has a full blackwork style tattoo that covers her back and both arms.
Clothing/Accessories: Sayuri wears her clothing in layers. At the lowest she wears deep red trousers that tie off at her waist loosely, and deep red long sleeve shirt that is also loose and pretty free-flowing. She wears dark brown leather boots that lace up her shins, as well as greaves and cuisses that are a dark brown and trimmed and trimmed in a shade of copper. She wears a dark green corset tied over her abdomen and lower torso with some sections striped in brown and a shade of copper as well. Personality:
  • General: Sayuri is typically protective of those around her, in particular of the citizens of her village as a whole. She views them overall as her charges, as if they have been personally entrusted to her care. Of course this means she is also very protective of her friends, and of her comrades. She's fiercely loyal to the village, and takes betrayal to the village extremely personally for a slew of reasons. Her loyalty is her personal morality, it is the center of everything for her.
  • Hopes/Dreams: Her only dream is to see her village thrive.
  • Fears: She fears the fall of her village.

Born to the Enkouten clan, this user is able to utilize Lava Release, a fusion composed of Doton and Katon, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require Youton. Youton has a melting effect.
Passive (Melting/Hardening)Show
Youton melts in all its techniques, making it a powerful offensive and defensive ability. Enkouton are resistant to Youton for short periods of time, but can be just as damaged by it as a normal person, even by their own techniques, if exposed for too long. The melting quality of Youton burns at such an high temperature that it tends to encapsulate everything in it's path. Despite this, however, weaker youton jutsu struggle to sustain themselves and tend to only give weaker burns to those who come in contact with it. Youton have been known to dull weapons, or even melt weapons at high levels, and flow through defensive jutsu. More importantly, the melting power of youton means that youton techniques passively reduce the strength of anything they're in contact with by 1/4th th strength of the youton jutsu per post after contact. This means a 20 strength youton technique would do 20 strength of damage at impact, then melt at 5 strength per post until it hardened. This allows youton jutsu to substantially weaken defenses over time.
Hardening:
Youton jutsu naturally harden over the course of time. Below is a chart for the longest a youton jutsu can sustain itself. The length of a jutsu is a given, but can be specified to be less than the listed amount should the user so desire. Once hardened, Youton jutsu have only 1 strength, being extremely brittle.

Passive (Enduring)Show
Doton has a passive effect of Endurance, which means that it's power is retained throughout the entirety of the jutsu. All of a single doton jutsu retains the strength of the jutsu, even after the jutsu has been destroyed, and unlike other jutsu, doton does not fade when destroyed. This means that if a doton barrier with 25 strength is cut in half and falls to the ground, a part of that barrier could be picked up and carried as a hand held shield which would still have 25 strength, despite being a fractured part of a jutsu. This creates incredibly potent defenses, making doton a popular affinity among defensive fighters.

The lava hardens over the span of 3 posts, reducing the strength of impacted objects by 1 strength per post.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user focuses chakra through their feet and into the surrounding earth. This causes a circular wall of lava to form directly around the user, shooting upwards from the ground with a speed and impact strength equal to the user’s control stat. After performing a string of hand seals, the user thrusts their hands forward, causing lava to burst from the ground 1 meter ahead of them. The lava then moves forward up to 10 meters with a speed and impact strength equal to the user’s control.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will cover the surface of their body with Youton chakra. Physical contact with the user triggers the technique, causing lava to burst outwards from the point of contact with a speed and impact strength equal to the user’s control. This jutsu causes 1st degree burns. The lava hardens over the span of 3 posts, reducing the strength of impacted objects by 2 strength per post. The jutsu lasts until triggered or for 3 posts, at which point it dissipates harmlessly.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will stomp on the ground to send a wave of Youton chakra rippling out in a 25 meter radius. This wave moves at a strength and speed equal to the user's control stat, potentially unbalancing nearby targets, and leaving puddles of Youton in its wake. These puddles remain for five posts and are five feet deep.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will thrust one hand upwards causing a rush of Youton to burst from the ground within 25 meters of the user. This geyser is 10 feet wide and 5 feet high, moving at a speed and strength equal to the user's control stat. This lasts for 5 posts, hardening over those posts and causing first degree burns.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will bring both hands back in fists to slam against their chest and launch into the sky, from their mouth, an orb of molten Youton lava the size of a basketball. This will trigger molten lava to rain down around the user in a 25 meter area the size of baseballs. The initially coughed lava is launched at, and the lava rains down at, strengths and speed equal to the user's control. This jutsu lasts for a total of 5 posts.

After performing a string of hand seals, the user will focus chakra into the ground through their feet. This infuses the ground with Youton chakra, creating a circular trap with a radius of 25 meters with the user at the center. If someone aside from the user were to step within the range, lava would burst upwards with a speed and strength equal to the user’s control stat, causing first degree burns.

First performing handseals, this sensor jutsu is used by shinobi to feel chakra sources within a radius of 35 meters. While this jutsu is fairly helpful in sensing chakra, it is unable to actually pinpoint specific chakras outside of a 10m radius. This only gives the Shinobi an idea of how many entities with chakra are present in their general area.

The user will do a series of hand seals and place their hands to the ground. Releasing waves of chakra out of their hands. These waves of chakra will bounce back to the user after traveling out 50 meters on the ground. As the chakra returns to the user it will evoke an image in the users head of the immediate area around them, anything touching the ground and anything up to 5 meters underground. These are still images, not moving images, but can give the user a good idea of what is happening if they aren’t able to see otherwise.

By placing one hand on the pommel/butt of the hilt or low section of the weapon's haft, the user is able to more easily maneuver, twist, slide, and flip their weapon in close quarters to cover a wider range of offensive and defensive options, using the second hand to give full power to their attacks and techniques. This Discipline represents the practitioner's mastery of this basic concept, allowing them to lessen the impact of their weapon's natural blind spots and weaknesses.

A practitioner of Shinden must be able to control their weapon as easily as their own breath. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity to both change the orientation of their weapon to cover a different part of their body while spinning said weapon and to immediately change the direction said weapon is spinning without loss of defensive or offensive momentum.

A simple setup technique, the practitioner quickly and continuously spins their weapon in their hands, capable of switching their weapon between each hand if they wish. Any attack or technique used after the practitioner uses this technique will be instantly launched at the practitioner's maximum Strength and Speed.

One of Shinden's most basic offensive techniques, the practitioner raises their weapon over their head, using gravity and inertia to add momentum to their next attack. The practitioner then launches a ferocious two-handed swing in any single direction. The practitioner executes the cut in a circular motion, allowing them to quickly bring the weapon back to guard against a potential counterattack.

Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength, 8 Speed.
A simple yet devastating technique, the practitioner executes a powerful thrust towards the opponent. At the end of the thrust, or just as the blade is making contact with the opponent if it hits, the practitioner violently rotates the blade in any single direction and finishes the technique with a slash in the direction the sword was twisted. This additional rotation and slash at the end can further damage opponents or catch an opponent that has evaded the original thrust by strafing to either side, ducking, or jumping.

Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength, 8 Speed.
Using Shinden's superlative strength to bend the earth to their will, the practitioner spins their weapon and strikes the ground with a powerful blow, breaking the ground beneath them. Depending on the terrain, slabs of earth, rock, and stone will be uplifted where the practitioner struck, providing a temporary barrier against projectiles and attacks. These slabs of earth have a Strength equal to the practitioner's Strength, but they only remain for three posts.

Shinden users understand that the size of their weapons cause naturally occurring blind spots and have trained to shore up those weaknesses in their defense. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to more finely control the natural blind spots of their weapons, passively strengthening their defenses and even allowing the practitioner to bait ignorant opponents into traps. This Discipline also allows the practitioner to easily wield their preferred two-handed weapon with one hand, if applicable.

Charging at the opponent, the practitioner grips the weapon's hilt or haft with one hand and rests their other hand on the pommel or butt of the haft or hilt with the other. As they drive their weapon forward in a thrust, the practitioner quickly torques the muscles in their forearm, wrist, and hand on the pommel/butt of the weapon and spin the weapon in their hand like a drill, greatly increasing the penetrative power of the thrust as they drive it into the opponent's guard and, hopefully, through their bodies. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 higher than the opponent's Endurance, this technique will cause hairline fractures, localized inflammation, and minor internal bleeding.

Prerequisite(s): *[Shinden • Stream Splitting].
Taking to the sky, the practitioner jumps off of the ground, engaging their weapon in a ferocious spin. The practitioner can choose to complete this technique in one of three ways: a powerful diving swing or thrust, a somersaulting overhead strike, or a midair dodge by swinging the weapon in any single direction and allowing the momentum generated by the weight of the weapon and the swing to carry them in that direction. Due to the sheer momentum of this technique, if the practitioner's Strength is higher than the opponent's Endurance, any armor or weapon used to defend against this technique will be rendered ineffective, either by being rent from the opponent's hand or broken outright. This technique is not as effective when performed with a normal sword or katana.

Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
The practitioner will momentarily dig the tip of their weapon into the ground, quickly build a large amount of tension in their muscles. The practitioner will then release the tension into a wide, sweeping cut in any single direction, curving away from the ground to avoid lodging their weapon into the ground if choosing an overhead swing. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 higher than the opponent's Endurance, this technique will knock the opponent up or away a number of meters equal to the practitioner's Strength in addition to the damage normally taken from this technique. The practitioner can immediately transition into a defensive weapon spin to shore up openings after the technique if they wish.

The practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush the opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

This allows them to perform quicker, more complex movements, guards, and attacks with their weapon of choice without any penalty related to the size or weight of the weapon.

A Shinden practitioner learns to endure and deaden pain and resist shock. It also represents the toughened skin and bones the practitioner has developed throughout their training, lessening pain and preventing minor injuries that the practitioner would otherwise suffer during the course of combat or inflict on themselves using Shinden techniques.

An improvement on its parent technique, the practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush them opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can also incorporate quick thrusts to further pressure the opponent or counterattack, increasing the effectiveness of the defense the technique provides. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

Prerequisite(s): 35 Strength, 25 Speed, *[Shinden • Snapping Turtle].
One of Shinden’s most lethal techniques, the practitioner points their weapon toward the opponent, one hand at the base of the hilt or haft of the weapon and the other on the butt/pommel of the hilt or haft. Momentarily torquing their muscles, the practitioner violently spins the weapon in their grip. The strength of the rotation causes a vacuum to occur at the tip of the weapon, drawing any opponent in within a 25-meter radius with a Strength equal to 1/2 the practitioner’s Strength, rounded down. Should an opponent be close enough, the practitioner will charge and violently thrust their weapon in and through the opponent, the vacuum increasing the lethality of the thrust.

B-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 35 Strength, 25 Speed, *[Shinden • Stream Splitting].
Momentarily torquing the muscles in their arms, shoulders and back, the practitioner channels that force into a wide, powerful swing. This swing, aside from being plenty deadly in its own right, produces a twisting horizontal pressure wave measuring ten feet in diameter which travels at a Speed and for a number of meters equal to the practitioner’s Strength and strikes with a force equal to 2/3 the practitioner’s Strength, rounded down. This twister is able to pick up water, dirt, fire, and small debris, potentially increasing the damage the pressure wave can cause.

The practitioner throws a palm strike towards an opponents leg utilizing all their momentum and force by swinging their shoulders and hips, targeting the opponent's thigh. Landing this strike causes immense discomfort and a hairline fracture in one of the bones, and if the opponent continues to heavily use and strain the targeted leg, the hairline fracture can degrade into a full severe fracture. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

Prerequisite: 10 strength.
This taijutsu utilizes the weaker spot of the fibula in the calf to snap the soft bone. This creates intense pain in their calf, making them unable to stand, and it causes immense pain on the damaged leg. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Stop Pointing
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique requires the practitioner to get close and personal, grabbing the opponent and forcing them into an armbar. Once the opponent is forced into an armbar, the practitioner must then open up their fingers and bend them back with immense force until they break or dislocate. This prevents the opponent from forming handseals unless they relocate their fingers or mend the bone breakage. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner claps their opponent's ear with the palm of their hand, swinging wide to gather as much force as possible before the strike. This causes bleeding and a ringing sensation in the opponent's ear, hampering their ability to hear properly. This also causes an influx of pressure in the opponent's ear canal, compromising the opponent's balance. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

The practitioner positions themselves in a fighting stance and performs a quick jab with their dominant hand striking their opponent's nose in an attempt to break the cartilage. This causes immense pain and hampers their sense of smell as it fills with blood. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

History Enkouten Sayuri had a standard but fairly rough upbringing. She came up with parents who were both shinobi, her mother was a medic, and her father was a hunter. Both taught her their skills, but she only took after her mother's skills somewhat, and her father's skills she was even less successful at. By time she went into the academy she already felt like she was going to fail their every expectation. While she was in the academy, her life took its first left hand turn. Her father went out for a hunt, and never came back. At first the rumor was that he had been killed, but when the news finally came in it was something she considered far worse, he had instead gone Rogue. Sayuri tried to focus on her studies, but the books just never came to her naturally. During this time it was her physical work that she really progressed on, taking out her anger, her frustrations, and her sadness on the dummies was fulfilling. When she graduated, she was considered to be stronger in the arts of Taijutsu than anything else, and her father was still Missing.

As a Genin she tried to put her nose to the grindstone and learn more of her clan techniques, but still found herself intrigued by taijutsu. Learning Ninjutsu was a struggle for her, but doable. In what spare moments she had, she spent time at a local forge watching a member of her clan forge weapons though she didn't take him up on his offer of an apprenticeship, choosing instead to focus on her arts.

When she made Chunin, she dove into heavier weapons and developed her strength, specifically taking on the odachi over just her katana. It was while she was a Chunin that leads were found on her father's location, but she wasn't considered strong enough to take the work herself. Instead her mother led that hunt, the woman was a medic, but she was also a poison specialist. The hunt was a mess, but technically the goal was achieved. Sayuri's father was killed, but in the process so was Sayuri's mother, and the rest of the team brought back the reports, and the bodies. Sayuri developed a deep hatred for Rogue Shinobi as a result, and extremely career focused.

As a Jounin Sayuri found herself strong, but also lonely and bored. She's begun investigating other fields of study as a shinobi, and even visiting the forge once again. And yet in her mundane days of training was when she found something new in her life. She encountered another shinobi, the pair coinciding in a way that actually put themselves at odds, and yet within a day the pair wound up not only friends, they ended up extremely close. In a very short period of time the pair found their company invaluable to one another. The pair quickly became inseparable outside of their duties, and the man, Tate Iwamaru, practically moved in with her in short order. They became everything to one another, and soon faced real emotional hurdles.
