Sadako

General Information Age: 13
Gender: Female
Height: 5'2"
Weight:100lb
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Sadako has icy blue eyes that contrast strongly with her pale skin and her long jet black hair which she usually lets flow freely, though occasionally puts up in a ponytail while on missions. Her ears are adorned with an array of simple metal rings up the sides and occasionally a pair of icy blue crystal earrings that complement her eyes.
  • Body: Sadako possesses a petit yet toned frame.
  • Notable Features:She has an odd birthmark on her right shoulder blade that she does her best to keep hidden.
Clothing/Accessories: Having grown up in an orphanage with no money, Sadako's wardrobe is fairly basic. Her most typical mission attire consists of a black sleeveless turtleneck with gray 5.5" shorts, black closed toed shoes and her weapons pouches/sword on her hip. As the weather cools, her top will typically become a black long sleeve shirt with slim fitting gray pants. Regardless of the attire, the blue crystal pendant she arrived at the orphanage with is always around her neck, often tucked underneath her shirt.
Personality: Intelligent and relatively introverted, Sadako is often described as the stereotypical quiet loner type. Being an orphan of unknown origin, the constant wonder of where she came from or what happened to her parents is often there in the back of her mind. Despite spending the first few years at the orphanage trying to make friends with the other children, the constant rejection made her more reserved and much less likely to try and forge connections or pursue relationships with others. She has been known to be a little bit sassy at times, an array of sarcastic comments always ready to roll off her tongue, and she is never afraid to stand up for herself when the need arises, often to the surprise of the offender due to her slight size and quiet nature.

If there is one thing that Sadako has a taste for, it is shiny jewelry. Sparked by the crystal pendant that she showed up with, her interest in jewelry was only exacerbated by growing up in a mining town that regularly dug out and exported various minerals and crystals. Sadako would constantly see these items for sale in the town markets and often desired to take them home with her, but never had the money to purchase any of them. Now that she is a shinobi and has an income of her own, it is not uncommon for Sadako to use any spare money to purchase items that she finds to be beautiful and of quality and wear them even on missions, sometimes to the chagrin of her teammates.

In battle Sadako often plays the role of offensive support, using her Chalk based techniques to dampen the use of ranged ninjutsu and make the fight more reliant of close quarter combat, synergizing particularly well with Taijutsu focused teammates. She is very analytical with her battle plans, often waiting for the right moment to strike and letting her teammates do the bulk of the initial fighting, using her techniques to blindside or hinder her opponents.

Ninjutsu
FuutonShow
Fuuton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Fuuton affinity. Fuuton has an cutting effect.
Passive (Cutting)Show
Fuuton has a natural cutting property to it, that exists in all jutsu unless otherwise stated. This gives fuuton a unique opportunity to strike with additional power, and to act as a offensive defense. Regardless of their purpose fuuton jutsu passively cut with no distinct pattern at 1/2 the strength of the technique rounded down unless otherwise stated. This means if someone punched a 20 strength fuuton wall, they would get cuts on their hand applied with 10 strength. This also means that fuuton jutsu specifically designated to cut things can create devastating wound by essentially striking twice.
DotonShow
Doton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Doton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the doton affinity. Doton has a passive enduring effect.
Passive (Enduring)Show
Doton has a passive effect of Endurance, which means that it's power is retained throughout the entirety of the jutsu. All of a single doton jutsu retains the strength of the jutsu, even after the jutsu has been destroyed, and unlike other jutsu, doton does not fade when destroyed. This means that if a doton barrier with 25 strength is cut in half and falls to the ground, a part of that barrier could be picked up and carried as a hand held shield which would still have 25 strength, despite being a fractured part of a jutsu. This creates incredibly potent defenses, making doton a popular affinity among defensive fighters.
Chalk StyleShow
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Chalk, an extension composed of Fuuton and Doton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require Chalk. Chalk style has a releasing effect. You must be a current or former Iwagakure shinobi, and have both Fuuton and Doton to utilize this concentration.
Passive (Releasing)Show
Chalk Style techniques have a releasing effect. Chalk Style particles come into contact with opposing jutsu or areas affected by an opponent's jutsu and cause the chakra to be forcibly released from the impacted jutsu, thus decreasing the overall duration of multi-post jutsu, such as area of effect techniques, and shortening the range of single post jutsu, such as direct offensive jutsu. These particles can also be condensed and drawn over fuuinjutsu, reducing their overall strength and difficulty to disarm the fuuinjutsu. If the Chalk Style technique reduces the post duration of a multi-post technique by an equal amount to or greater amount than the effected technique, the technique is destroyed outright.

Chalk particles produced by these techniques must cover at least a significant portion of the area of effect (~40%) of the jutsu it's interacting with to be effective. Below is a table detailing the post limits for Chalk Style techniques, based on the Strength rating of the technique:
  • 1-14 Strength: -1 post duration (multi-post); 5-meter range reduction (single post/constant).
  • 15-24 Strength: -2 post duration (multi-post); 10 meter range reduction (single post/constant).
  • 25-34 Strength: -3 post duration (multi-post); 20 meter range reduction (single post/constant).
  • 35+ Strength: -4 post duration (multi-post); 40 meter range reduction (single post/constant).

Jutsu
ChalkShow
D-Rank JutsuShow
*Chalk Style • Diffusing Cloud
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After forming hand seals, the user will stomp the ground and cause a 10-meter x 10-meter x 10-meter cloud of Chalk to rise up in front of the user at [Control] Speed and Strength. The Chalk particles from this technique linger in the area for up to three posts. The passive debuff from this technique stacks with those of other Chalk Style techniques.

*Chalk Style • Breaker Wave
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After forming hand seals, the user slams their foot down, sending out a 3-meter x 3-meter x 1-meter wave of Chalk, travels at [control] Speed and Strength. This leaves Chalk on the ground along its path that will stick to anything that steps on it, interfering with jutsu it intercepts. The wave will then crash down and expel a 6-meter x 6-meter x 6-meter cloud of Chalk that will persist in the area for up to three posts. The passive debuff from this technique stacks with those of other Chalk Style techniques.

*Chalk Style • Smoke Bomb Spike
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After forming hand seals, the user creates a 2 meter long, six-inch radius spike of Chalk that they then launch forward up to 5 meters away at [Control] Speed and Strength. When this technique strikes an opponent or target area, it spreads additional Chalk particulates in a 3-meter x 3-meter x 3-meter cloud that will persist in the area for up to three posts. The passive debuff from this technique stacks with those of other Chalk Style techniques.

*Chalk Style • Suppression
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After forming hand seals, the user fires a 3-meter diameter stream of Chalk at the opponent up to 10 meters away. This Chalk stream strikes with [Control] Speed and Strength. Upon reaching the end of its range or upon hitting an opponent or surface, the Chalk diffuses into a 3-meter x 3-meter x 3-meter cloud which will persist in the area for up to four posts. The passive debuff from this technique stacks with those of other Chalk Style techniques.
FuutonShow
D-RankShow
*Fuuton • Wind Skating
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the needed hand seals, the user is able to glide on air as if they were skating on ice. This allows them to move faster (+3 speed) but lowers their ability to translate force (-3 Strength). This doesn't allow them to fly, but rather to travel over things like land, water, and ice with greater ease. The user is only held several inches off of the ground. This Jutsu does not expire until the user’s chakra supply runs out or the user shuts it off. The fuuton passive is not applied in this technique.

*Fuuton • Vortex Screw
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After doing the needed hand seals, the user creates a small vortex of Fuuton chakra around a projectile in their hand that spins with [Control] Strength. This causes the projectile to corkscrew through the air, allowing it to travel an extra 10m and applying the Fuuton passive when thrown. This doesn't make the projectile any faster, only increases its range and ability to cut.

*Fuuton • Wind Bullet
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the required hand seals, the user expels a basket ball sized ball of wind from their mouth. This ball of wind travels up to 10m at [Control] speed, and explodes with [Control] Strength on contact with solid matter or at the end of its range.
C-RankShow
*Fuuton • Tornado Trap
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
The user will first perform the required hand seals and then gather wind around an opponent. This will form a tornado around them at [Control] Speed which extends 25m into the air and has a radius of 3m. The tornado will push back anything that touches it with [Control] Strength, while also cutting at whatever tries to push through as well as a kunai would with the same strength. This technique lasts for 4 posts.
YoshinShow
D-RankShow
*[Yoshin • Prey's Anatomy]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Detailed knowledge of the human body's vulnerabilities and weaknesses are fundamental to learning Yoshin. This Discipline represents the practitioner's knowledge of the precise location of all major organs, tendons, blood vessels, and nerve clusters on both their body and the opponent's body. This allows the practitioner to accurately target those areas even in the heat of combat.

*[Yoshin • Hidden Trap]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
After taking the opponent's side either offensively or after evading an attack, the practitioner draws a quick, firm slash across the opponent's side, such as their oblique, rib cage, or arm. The attack is intended to both injure and startle the opponent, often used to disrupt an opponent's attack or sequence of attacks with the severity of the damage. A unique attack within Yoshin, this particular technique is meant to dig as deeply into the opponent and create cuts as wide as possible, many times slashing into bones to cause as much long term damage as possible. The depth and width of the cut can also cause serious blood loss over time. Opponents with an Rigid Structure technique of equal or higher rank can limit the amount of damage this technique causes.

*[Yoshin • Glancing Arrow]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Aiming to hinder the opponent's mobility, the practitioner launches a quick snapping slash or thrust at the side of one of the opponent's knees, damaging the tendon and causing the muscles in the joint to flare up. Aside from causing significant pain, an opponent hit by this technique will not be able to fully support their weight on the targeted leg, hindering their mobility and creating additional openings for the practitioner to exploit unless they have an Endurance equal to or higher than the practitioner's Speed.

History
Historical AccountsShow
The history of an orphan is often quite murky, and Sadako's is quite the mystery. Showing up outside the gates of Rock Country's Shirosato region hand in hand with a slightly older boy, both of unknown origin with little more than the clothes on their backs and the jewelry on their bodies, Sadako and this boy were taken in and placed within one of the region's orphanages, under the watchful eye of the villages' superiors, after an exhaustive search for their parents resulted in no credible leads. Raised amongst a dozen other children, made orphans by the region's notoriously dangerous mining industry, Sadako rarely received the proper amount of love and affection that a young child needs as they grow. She spent her first few years in the orphanage were trying, and failing, to make friends with the other children, but they often treated her poorly in return and the ones who didn't often got adopted out well before she did. As such, the constant rejection caused her to become much more reserved as she aged, her only true friend being Kazuma, the boy that she arrived at the orphanage with, whom she had formed a sort of sibling relationship with.

Entering the academy at around 9 years old, Sadako saw it as an opportunity to escape life at the orphanage and become more independent, leaving much of that life behind. She was joined, of course, by Kazuma yet much like at the orphanage she saw his social life amongst their peers flourish while hers did not. While he was often the goofball class clown type and talented in close quarter combat, Sadako was often regarded as the quiet loner type whose fighting style could be best described as offensive support. Her intellect however often had her placing high on exams compared to her peers, at least granting her the respect of her instructors. Upon graduating from the academy at the age of 13, she and Kazuma were set up in an apartment in Iwagakure by the very orphanage that raised them until they could earn enough money from their missions to support themselves.
