Kenitsuna, Ko’ichi
Ken’ichi’s Last Disciple

General Information
AgeGenderHeightWeightHairEyes
13Male5’7”123 poundsBlackCharcoal Grey
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Ko’ichi’s slightly curly hair is of a moderate length, and tends to be kept styled in a way that it falls over his foreheads and is overwise swept to the left. His charcoal coloured eyes often appear to be intently focussed; and he often has small recent cuts or bruises resulting from his reckless training and battling. The rest of his facial features are not particularly noteworthy, with ears and a nose that are both smaller than average.
  • Body: Even at his young age, Ko is beginning to show signs that he will be an imposing adult. He has experienced several early growth spurts, and at 5’7” tends to tower over people the same age as him. Although he hasn’t quite filled it out yet, he is in the early stages of developing a broad, muscular build. This is largely disguised by his day-to-day outfit, so he can appear rather slim to the casual observer. He has a black tattoo on the back of his right hand, depicting an open half-oval, within which is a winged arrowhead. Finally, a narrow diamond pattern strikes out from between the wings of the arrowhead.

If someone were to see Ko bearfoot or shirtless, they would notice that he has gained a significant number of scars for his young age. On his feet, there are many small, jagged cuts that make themselves known after once healing poorly. On his back and chest there are larger, deeper and more deliberate scars; clearly left by blades.
Clothing/Accessories: Ko’ichi tends to wear relatively simple clothing. He favors walking barefoot; and his favorite outfit consists of long, wide cut gray pants and a high collared black jacket over his shirt. Finally, he wears a black wristband on his right arm. Sewn into the inside of the band is a golden coin imprinted with the number 1.
Personality:
  • General: Ko’ichi tends to be an easy-going individual while calm. Those who’ve met him recently find him to be quite agreeable and friendly, as well as a good listener. They often fail to realize that he isn’t one to surrender much about himself; despite being more than willing to hear of the woes of those he meets.

He is slow to anger. However, those who have managed to madden him will find that he becomes quite opinionated and aggressive. They will also learn that he tends to hold grudges against those who rile him up.
  • Hopes/Dreams: Ko’ichi suffers from an intense desire to prove himself and his strength to the village at large. He wishes to live up to the legacy of his uncle; and ensure that he is seen as a worthy successor to him.
  • Fears: Ko’ichi hates the thought of losing his autonomy, and would do much to prevent himself from being captured or bound. He also has a slight phobia of tight spaces.
  • Combat Mentality: Ko’ichi tends to be a reckless fighter. His preference in battle is to enter close quarters, and use his superior strength and taijutsu to rapidly destroy his foes.

History
Important FiguresShow
Kenitsuna, Ken'ichi
Ken’ichi was a powerful and high ranking shinobi of Iwagakure. At the greatest, he was considered a contender for the position of Tsuchikage, though his withdrawal from the Kage trails offered to him marked him as a pariah among the village’s Bannin. He held high status amongst the Kenitsuna, and acted as a father to Ko for most of his life.

Recently, Ken’ichi was slain by the Raikage during Iwa’s invasion of Wind Country. His death in the line of duty redeemed the man in the eyes of the village, who now consider him to be a hero.

Kenitsuna, Kitaru & Kenitsuna, Kahori
Ko’s biological parents, Kitaru and Kahori were both Special Jounin of Iwa at the time of their deaths. Kitaru was a member of the Kenitsuna’s first family, and the younger brother of Ken’ichi, while Kahori married into the family.

They were killed by a group of Jashinists, who captured and executed them in the hopes of drawing Ken’ichi to their headquarters.

Kenitsuna, Keiso
A fellow Genin of Iwa alongside Ko’ichi, Keiso has been his closest friend for much of his life. After the death of Ken’ichi and Ko’s second adoption, Keiso is also his adopted brother.

Kenitsuna, Kunimichi & Kenitsuna, Kumiko
Two renowned smiths of the Kenitsuna’s third family. They are the parents of Keiso, and have adopted Ko in the aftermath of his uncle’s death. Kumiko sits on the Kenitsuna House Council, while Kunimichi devotes most of his time to his smithing.
PrologueShow
BeginningsShow
Kenitsuna, Kitaru and Kawano, Kahori met in the academy of Iwagakure. They grew close, first while they studied together, and later as they served together as Genin and Chuunin of the village’s shinobi force. By the time they were adults; they had fallen in love.

For Kahori, their marriage came with a distinct change in her social status. The Kenitsuna were a proud house with a traditional lifestyle; and Kitaru was a member of their first family. Not only that, but his older brother was a bright rising star of the family: the proficient Jounin Kenitsuna, Ken’ichi. She took well to the changes that came with her marriage, however, and the pair’s union was a happy one.

There were fears that the couple would not be able to conceive healthy children. Kitaru’s own mother had suffered many miscarriages in her time, and had not survived past the birth of her younger son. However, a mere 2 years into their marriage the couple was blessed with a healthy baby boy. He would be named in honor of his uncle, and became Kenitsuna, Ko’ichi.

A second child followed soon afterwards, and Ko’ichi’s earliest memories would be of a content and happy household. Kitaru and Kahori were still shinobi (recently promoted special Jounin in fact), and the children would find themselves under the care of other family members while they took missions to further the interest of their village. When they were home, they were strong and loving parents. All seemed well for this branch of the family.
Ill fated journeyShow
Such a life was not to last, however. When Ko’ichi was 5 years old, the family traveled to Western Rock Country in search of a vacation. The toil of serving in the shinobi forces, and the increased scrutiny that had come with Ken’ichi’s promotion to Bannin left Kitaru and Kahori more than ready to take some time for themselves and their children.

Their journey was haunted by Ken’s old enemies. A group of Jashinists, once aligned with an attempt to subvert the village from within, ambushed the family as they made their way through Rock Country. Ko’s parents were unprepared for the ferocity of the attack. Kitaru’s blade was shattered by the leader of the Jashinists, and soon the whole family was captured.

Ko was tortured for a day alongside his family; after which the Jashinists did something unexpected. They separated Ko from his relatives, took him to within an hour of Sawara, and released him. The child made his way to the town, feet bloody from the rough terrain, until he was spotted by the civilians of the trading port. Word of what had happened was sent to Iwagakure, while Ko was admitted to the town’s hospital and treated for his wounds.

Several days passed while Ko slowly began to recover. He was informed that shinobi from Iwa had passed through the town; intent on killing the Jashinists group and rescuing their captives. Eventually, the young boy was visited by his uncle and given the grave news of the assault’s aftermath.

Ken’ichi had insisted on leading the task force sent to rescue the family. They had fallen on the Jashinists with a fury few would ever see, overwhelming their defenses and slaughtering them to a man. However, Ko’s parents and younger sister had already been killed before their arrival. The whole endeavor was designed solely to draw out the man who had undone the cult’s work within Iwagakure so many years ago; the captives nothing more than bait for the old Bannin.

What Ken’ichi did not mention was that he had withdrawn from the Kage trials in order to take on this mission. Over time, Ko would learn that the act would shame his uncle until the end of his life.
Pursuit of PurposeShow
Once the two of them returned to the village, Ken’ichi officially brought Ko into his household. The Bannin would become a second father to the young boy; looking after him with the same love as his parents once had. As he grew closer to the age that he would be entered into the academy, he made his desire to train as a shinobi clear and asked Ken to train him. The older man had withdrawn from teaching from the academy after his failure to attempt the Kage trails, but he agreed to be a mentor to Ko and prepare him for the academy.

However, the boy remembered how his father’s blade had broken during the Janishist’s assault. He adamantly refused to learn Kenjutsu, and instead focussed his studies on hand to hand Taijutsu under his uncle’s tutelage.

It was in this period that Ko met Kenitsuna, Keiso. His father, Kunimichi, was an accomplished smith of the third family; and had been the man to forge much of Ken’ichi’s own weaponry over the years. He and Ken’ichi had a strong bond, and the smith would be asked to look after Ko whenever he needed to take on a mission. Keiso was Kunimichi’s son, of an age with Ko, and the pair quickly found themselves forging a powerful friendship.

Ko took well to his uncle’s training, and when he and Keiso entered Iwa’s academy at age 8 he found himself breezing through the tutelage that related to physical combat. He managed the academic study of the academy well, but the manipulation of chakra was a subject he struggled immensely with. Nevertheless, he graduated after the minimum 4 year term, an otherwise mediocre showing in the shinobi arts buoyed by his hand to hand proficiency.

Several months after his graduation from the academy, Iwagakure launched an invasion of Wind Country. Ken’ichi, long shamed from his withdrawal from the trials, seemed expected to play a major role or die trying. While he and his comrades achieved their objective; Ken’ichi was forced to combat the Raikage himself, and was destroyed. For the second time in his life, Ko was left an orphan.

Kunimichi and his family offered the boy a new home. Though it is still unfamiliar to him, and he grieves for the loss of his second father; the boy strives onwards in his pursuit of greater strength.

Bone BreakerShow
Bone Breaker Style
Bone Breaker Style was created by shinobi in order to disable another fighter quickly in a fight to prevent them from utilizing limbs, and weathering the opponent down by short powerful strikes aimed at weak spots in the skeletal structure to fracture or break entirely. The style is strongly based off the strength and taijutsu skill of the user. If a user is strong they can snap bones easily, but if they are uncoordinated the style is essentially useless, same if it was the other way around, a weak person cannot snap bones no matter how well they're coordinated. The style is an utterly bruteful and ruthless one used to typical lethally injure or disable an opponent for other means.
Requires CQC and Medicine Concentrations
Requires a Minimum of 5 Strength

D Rank: 2
*Quaker
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 10 strength.
This taijutsu utilizes the weaker spot of the fibula in the calf to snap the soft bone. This creates intense pain in their calf, making them unable to stand, and it causes immense pain on the damaged leg. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Stop Pointing
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique requires the practitioner to get close and personal, grabbing the opponent and forcing them into an armbar. Once the opponent is forced into an armbar, the practitioner must then open up their fingers and bend them back with immense force until they break or dislocate. This prevents the opponent from forming handseals unless they relocate their fingers or mend the bone breakage. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.
C Rank: 2
*Knee Bender
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 10 Strength
The practitioner closes in and delivers a powerful snap kick to the opponent's knee, attempting to bend it completely backwards, dislocating it or breaking the joint outright. This causes the opponent unable to stand on the afflicted leg without struggling to balance themselves. This also causes immense pain in the opponent's joint, making the injury hard to heal naturally. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

*Humorous Humerus
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 10 Strength
The practitioner delivers an open palm strike to the opponent's arm, attempting to break the humerus bone and render the arm unusable. This makes the opponent unable to move the affected arm or perform hand seals. The opponent will also feel immense pain in their injured arm and will have trouble moving the arm any further down than the shoulder. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.
Strong FistShow
Strong Fist Style
This style focuses on being overall more physically powerful than your opponent. Users attempt to overwhelm defenses with great speed and strength while chipping away at their opponent’s endurance and keeping their own at the highest possible. Most attacks are simple in execution but extremely powerful in effect, causing battles of attrition to be in their favor.
Requires CQC Concentration

D Rank: 3
*[Strong Fist Style • Dynamic Entry]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
In this technique, the user builds momentum and speed in order to bridge the gap between themselves and a distanced target. After covering an appropriate distance, the user then lets loose a form of distraction, like a thrown object, in order to misdirect the target's attention. The user then leaps with their momentum, delivering a strong kick to bridge the rest of the distance.

*[Strong Fist Style • Dynamic Action]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Because distances tend to become the problem in most taijutsu, the practitioner will advance with every strike. This creates a tempo of advancement that is designed to wear down their opponent through ever pressing strikes, giving little chance for escape or recovery.

*[Strong Fist Style • One Inch Punch]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
When fighting in close quarters it becomes difficult to generate energy for full powered strikes. Practitioners have learned how to explode force from every muscle with minimal energy wasted and space needed. Every strike done by the practitioner has the potential to be at full strength, so long as they have at least one inch of movement.
C Rank: 1
*[Strong Fist Style • Rising Leaf Wind]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
A kick meant to disrupt the opponent that can be launched from nearly any position. This kick is delivered quickly with +6 Speed but with -6 Strength and is aimed at any possible opening and extremely difficult to defend against, quickening the tempo the practitioner is keeping.
B Rank: 1
*[Strong Fist Style • Leaf's Flashing Might]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requiring a full post of charge time the user tenses their entire body in preparation, becoming immobile. During this time they will look for their direct path and position themselves with their fist pointed forward. At the end of the post they will release all of this pent up energy with extreme force, leaping nearly instantaneously a number of meters equal to their strength. This counts as a teleportation and cannot be done more than twice per thread.
