Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Keiko has soft, childish facial features with chubby cheeks and an overall rounded face, features slightly offset by a typically stoic expression, the girl rarely showing emotion with any change in expression being just slight and hardly noticeable. These features being accompanied by dark brown eyes, the left of which has been blinded, that often appear red in the right light as well as short black hair that hangs down to her jaw in length, a few strands being long enough to brush her shoulders.
  • Body: While lacking in height, Keiko is well muscled and has begun to show signs of development, puberty having begun to take its course as she possesses long legs with a firm behind as well as having a bit of a curve to her waist with wide hips and a chest that while not exceptionally so is fairly sizable for her age.
  • Notable Features:Wrapped partially around the left side of her face are a number of cloth bandages, keeping her blinded eye covered at nearly all times.
Clothing/Accessories: Keiko's main day to day outfit consists of a high collared long sleeved black dress with red trim and a ruffled skirt as well as a number of golden buttons along the torso and a red ribbon located just above her breast. As well, she wears a pair of long fingerless gloves, a hat that appears a bit too big for her, and finally a pair of lace-up knee high boots with a slightly raised heel.

Personality:
  • General: To most who meet her for the first time, Keiko would seem taciturn, indifferent, and even largely emotionless, however while the former may be true to an extent, the latter isn't true at all. While circumstances of her childhood have taught her to not show any active signs of emotion, she's actually a very friendly young girl with a wide variety of thoughts and feelings. That said, while she says very little, most of what she says is direct and to the point, as blunt and honest as possible, leading her to not often give the best of first impressions, though with that said, she does show a great deal of respect towards her direct superiors, even often seeming to become much more meek and polite in their presence.

    Additionally she has a great love for sweets of all kinds.
  • Hopes/Dreams: Keiko's biggest dream right now is to prove herself as a shinobi while figuring out a path for her career
  • Fears: Her greatest fear is dying before she can achieve any kind of grand results.
  • Combat Mentality:Perhaps as a result of her upbringing or even as a result of her own injury, Keiko is very cautious in combat, watching her opponent, conserving her energy while waiting for an ideal opportunity to strike, rarely being the one to make the first move.

Suiton:
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Suiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Suiton affinity. Suiton has a passive enveloping effect.
Passive (Enveloping)Show
Suiton's effect is enveloping, meaning that suiton passively surrounds anything that it makes contact with. Suiton techniques that do not last over periods of times (i.e, exploding techniques) drench their opponents, but long term techniques will envelop anything they come in contact with and maintain a hold on it with the 3/4th strength of the technique, rounded down. This means that if a suiton wave is shot forward with 17 strength, it will envelope and move anything with it that does not have more than 12 strength to resist it. This allows Suiton to fill a very powerful role in eliminating tools from opponent's access and capturing targets.
Chiton Affinity:
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Chiton, and advanced form of Suiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Chiton affinity. Chiton has an replenishing effect.
Passive (Replenishing)Show
Chiton has an replenishing effect. This means that Chiton jutsu passively repair themselves when damaged, at no additional cost to the user. The rate of repairing itself is 1/3rd the speed of the technique rounded up, so a Chiton defense that manifests at 10 speed would repair itself at 4 speed when damaged. This only works for the length of the technique, so maintaining the damage to Chiton until the jutsu expires will stop it from regrowing.

Doing a series of hand seals, the user will clap their hands together, using chakra to boost their cardiac performance, and increasing their speed by +3, however reducing their control by -3 for the 4 post duration of this technique.

*Blood Weapon
D-Rank Chiton Ninjutsu
After performing the needed seals, the user will cause blood to break through their skin, forming a kunai in their hand. The kunai has [Control] strength, and can be thrown. After impact, if falls into a pool of blood that can then be used for other attacks.

*Bold Clotting
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the needed seals, the user will place their hand over an open wound up to five inches wide and two inches deep. After channeling Chiton chakra for a full post, the user will form a superficial blood-clot covering over the wound to prevent further bloodflow from it. While this cover doesn't completely heal the wound, it allows the target's body to recover from the wound naturally without agitation.

*Bathed In
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the needed seals, the user will slather blood on their body. By concentrating Chiton chakra in the blood, the user thins it out, allow the user to spread it over a larger area on their body. As a result, the user will look much more wounded and bloodier as a means to trick the opponent.

*Venipuncture
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the needed hand seals, the user will get a grip on their target, causing two needles from their palms to lash out into the target, pumping their blood into the target. Follow up techniques can be utilized with this jutsu to attack the opponent from the inside out.

C-Ranked

After performing the needed seals, the user will channel Chiton chakra into a location on their body. From that location a 2ft long spike of chakra will shoot out from under their skin with [Control] strength at [Control] speed. The spike is sharp, and will either recede back into the body after use, or follow up jutsu can be used with it.

*Blood Bath
C-Rank Ninjutsu
The user will do the necessary hand seals, then bite their tongue, causing it to bleed. A ball approximately the size of a baseball can then be spat out at [Control] speed, striking with [Control] strength. When it impacts a surface, the ball will explode with [Control] strength over a 1x1x1m area, covering the area in blood for future attacks.

Yoshin Kenjutsu:
Waterfall Country's samurai are the creators of Yoshin, a style of Kenjutsu honing one's precision to strike more precisely than any needle or arrow at the enemy's inherent weaknesses. The human body is full of natural weak spots and vulnerabilities, and Yoshin takes full advantage of those weaknesses in combat with calculated, precise, intelligent strikes and thrusts to cripple and cut down their opponent. Common joints, unseen nerve endings and nerve clusters, critical tendons and muscle groups, and even vital organs are all fair game to the users of Yoshin. The precision required for this style causes most users of its techniques to prefer short blades such as kodachi and wakizashi, often with serrated edges to maximize damage on the blade exiting the wound, though katana can still be used with this style.

Detailed knowledge of the human body's vulnerabilities and weaknesses are fundamental to learning Yoshin. This Discipline represents the practitioner's knowledge of the precise location of all major organs, tendons, blood vessels, and nerve clusters on both their body and the opponent's body. This allows the practitioner to accurately target those areas even in the heat of combat.

After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.

*[Yoshin • Hidden Trap]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
After taking the opponent's side either offensively or after evading an attack, the practitioner draws a quick, firm slash across the opponent's side, such as their oblique, rib cage, or arm. The attack is intended to both injure and startle the opponent, often used to disrupt an opponent's attack or sequence of attacks with the severity of the damage. A unique attack within Yoshin, this particular technique is meant to dig as deeply into the opponent and create cuts as wide as possible, many times slashing into bones to cause as much long term damage as possible. The depth and width of the cut can also cause serious blood loss over time. Opponents with an Rigid Structure technique of equal or higher rank can limit the amount of damage this technique causes.

*[Yoshin • Track the Prey]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A somewhat risky technique, the practitioner steps in aggressively for a split moment as a feint. The offensive nature of this feint is meant to prompt the opponent to reflexively block or dodge. The practitioner then follows this dodge and attacks the opponent with a slash or thrust, typically targeting a specific tendon, organ, joint, or nerve cluster.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Aiming to hinder the opponent's mobility, the practitioner launches a quick snapping slash or thrust at the side of one of the opponent's knees, damaging the tendon and causing the muscles in the joint to flare up. Aside from causing significant pain, an opponent hit by this technique will not be able to fully support their weight on the targeted leg, hindering their mobility and creating additional openings for the practitioner to exploit unless they have an Endurance equal to or higher than the practitioner's Speed.

*[Yoshin • Burrowed Arrowhead]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): *[Yoshin • Prey's Anatomy]
Looking to cause the opponent as much pain as possible with minimal energy or effort, the practitioner launches a quickly snapping thrust meant to slip through the ribcage and lightly cut the outside of one of the opponent's lungs. Aside from causing significant pain, an opponent hit by this technique will have difficulty breathing, causing future techniques they use to take up more Endurance due to oxygen deprivation.

C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite(s): *[Yoshin • Prey's Anatomy].
Exceptional Yoshin practitioners move beyond the basic knowledge of the body and delve more deeply into the study of the body. This Discipline represents the practitioner's knowledge of the precise location of all major and minor joints and tendons and all smaller nerve clusters on both their body and the opponent's body. This allows the practitioner to accurately target those areas even in the heat of combat.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Moving in close to the opponent, the practitioner launches a series of quick, snapping slashes and thrusts to the opponent's hands, causing deep lacerations. These cuts damage the tendons in the opponent's hands, interfering with their dexterity. These cuts cover sensitive areas between the fingers, knuckle joints, or even potentially under fingernails. While the damage caused by this technique is not life-threatening, it imposes a persisting -3 Endurance penalty on the opponent, as well as making it incredibly painful, if not impossible, for the opponent to wield a weapon with their hand or hands. This penalty can be lifted if the opponent receives medical attention.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A technique to disarm opponents, the practitioner launches a snapping slash or thrust at the opponent's forearm, severing several key tendons in the forearm. The damage caused to the muscles and tendons in the forearm by this technique can cause an opponent to drop whatever they are holding. Aside from being disarmed and causing significant pain, this technique also imposes a persisting -3 Strength penalty on the opponent due to the damage the muscles have sustained. This penalty can be lifted if the opponent receives medical attention.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Dropping low to the ground, the practitioner launches a quick, wide slash to the front of the opponent's shins. The cut targets a long nerve across the front of the shin which, if cut, can restrict the opponent's movements. Considering the size of the nerve being targeted and the relatively thin skin covering it, even cuts that only graze these nerves can be effective. Aside from causing significant pain, this technique also imposes a persisting -3 Speed penalty on the opponent due to movement of the legs becoming more difficult. This penalty can be lifted if the opponent receives medical attention.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Targeting the opponents torso and abdomen, the practitioner launches a series of quick snapping slashes. These lashes produce a series of evenly spaced cuts across the target's abdomen and torso. While these cuts are not life-threatening, the damaged muscles prohibit the opponent from fully drawing strength from their core and back into their limbs. Aside from causing significant pain, this technique also imposes a persisting -3 Endurance penalty on the opponent due to the damage the muscles have sustained. This penalty can be lifted if the opponent receives medical attention.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Dropping low to the ground and hooking their blade around the back of an opponent's ankle, the practitioner draws a heavy slash against the ankle's tendon, immediately causing a jolt of intense pain. The pain causes even the slightest step to send shocks of pain through the nerve. Aside from causing significant pain, this technique also imposes a persisting -3 Speed penalty on the opponent due to being unable to place weight upon the foot. This penalty can be lifted if the opponent receives medical attention.

After the loss of her left eye Keiko has since learned to adapt to having only partial sight throug use of her peripheral vision and her other senses, this technique being used to help her live and fight as she once had rather than providing any sort of distinct advantage in combat.

Since the day of her birth, Keiko's led a bit of a rough life, she and her mother both nearly dying during childbirth. For the first several years of her life she was even frail and sickly, though she had largely overcome her weaknesses by the time she would enter the academy.

However perhaps worst of all, eventually it had come out that for some time her father had been regularly drinking and abusing her and her mother, verbally berating his daughter and beating his wife, though Keiko herself wasn't entirely safe from the beatings either. Luckily help came in the form of her aunt whom had come to the home out of worry for her niece and sister, having arrived just in time to witness Keiko being struck by her father, the young girl having finally had enough and attempted to defend her mother.

Furious as she was, the woman very nearly drove her blade through his neck on the spot but ultimately decided to have him arrested instead, rumblings about certain changes within the village having given her an idea.

By this point Keiko had just begun her academy training, and while she did perform very well in her studies, the abuse as well as the indoctrination of the village had taken a great toll on her. Once a very vibrant young girl, she had learned to hide her emotions and had begun talking much less. However when around her mother and aunt, the latter of whom had taken the pair in after rescuing them, she did show the occasional smile and some bit of excitement as she begged her aunt to teach her how to wield a sword.

Eventually it came time to for the graduation exam, Keiko seeming to take very well to field work as well as showing she had a great deal of aptitude for the sword techniques that her aunt had taught to her. Of course the girl struggled against certain targets but nonetheless she came out on top in every encounter she faced. And it was towards the end of the week long exercise that she came across her father and had to resist an active urge to rush him down and get payback, instead opting to wait and watch. Unfortunately he spotted her and didn't give her the same luxury, causing a bloody battle to ensue. It was tough and in the process she caught several strikes against the left side of her face, leaving her face a bloody mess and her left eye completely blinded.

Nonetheless, perhaps through sheer force of will, she came out on top, decapitating him with no hesitation, the man having in her eyes become a monster rather than a human, a monster that deserved none of the mercy that she still held within her.

And with that she soon returned to the village and presented her prize to her direct superiors, the lot of them finding themselves very pleased with her work ethic and ability to persevere even after having lost her eye. And it was with that that she was thusly granted the rank of Genin.
