Physical Features: Disciplined in both body and mind as a young boy Gene's physical appearance reflects that of an athlete, a martial artist to be more specific. His muscles are solid and stature firm though he only stands at about five foot & seven inches; a fact that when combined with his consistently aloof eye expressions, make him appear less menacing and more approachable than one would expect of a trained Human weapon.
  • Face/head: Gene's face is characterized as being what one might call "perfect" in the sense that there are no discernible deformities in the skull structure. While it is said that he is relatively good looking there are few who have actually seen his face due to the fact that he has taken to wearing a black mask that covers the lower half of his face (mouth, cheeks, lower jaw and nose up to the bridge) at all times when in public save for moments where he needs to eat. When/If questioned about why he opts to wear a mask even when conducting menial tasks around the village his answers tend to vary from "I've never really thought about it" to "A Shinobi must conceal their identity less they open themselves or their loved ones to being a target when off duty." Suggesting that the mask isn't intended to be a fashion statement.

    Moreover, an unintended consequence of donning the mask is that his eyes tend stand out due to their unnatural and vibrant color. Gene's eyes are of an Auburn hue that when combined with his many eyebrow movements or lack thereof, offer a variety of different tones to his expressions. On almost all of these occasions however, it is said that his stares tend to pierce through those who he looks at - a fact that he has tried to correct to no avail.
  • Body: Gene's body is riddled with various scars from training and time out in the field. One scar in particular, a healed acid burn on his stomach, is the largest of and most notable representation of this. His left hand(back) also has a healed scar both in the middle of his thumb and where the ring finger and pinky connect leading to the outer section of his hand where he was cut open by a Kunai knife. A fact that has led to him wearing gloves when out and about.
  • Notable Features:Aside from his eyes the most noticeable feature about Gene would have to be his hair. Whether bound back with his Forehead protector or allowed to breath naturally, Gene's hair is often wildly styled which is made even more notable due to the fact that his hair color typically ranges from almost completely white to a healthy silver.

Outfit #1:
Beginning from top to bottom, Gene sports a white scarf that is wrapped securely around his neck - in active mission scenarios the scarf acts as a means to shield his identity as well as protect him from the elements(weather). Crafted of the finest materials of the region and tempered to sustain abuse, the Scarf isn't just a fashion accessory and its value to Gene extends beyond the surface; one of few artifacts left by his late mother before her passing he almost never take it off (save to wash it etc). Gene also wears a lightly-armored light grey flak vest that does not seem to have any noticeable pockets or pouches of which to place items. However, near the shoulders and around the chest cavity area the padding is 3 1/2 inches thick providing extra protection against weaponry(30 durability). If he were to remove the Flak vest for any reason then the long sleeved black carbon fiber thermal sweat shirt designed to keep him warm in colder temperatures, cool in hotter climates, dry in wet environments and comfortable overall. Despite being a simple shirt in appearance, the fabric is tempered quite well and provides 20 durability and some resistance to abuse.

Steel plated Wrist Guards: Found on either wrist, Gene has taken to wearing a black carbon fiber band with steel plating designed into the material in order to protect his wrists. Each plate is double layered and shaped in such a way that pointed weapons would be more prone to glide off its surface as opposed to ripping through you know - flesh. Built for protection, the wrist guards have a durability of 30 each.

Below the Torso Gene sports black Hakama pants composed of roughly the same material as the thermal undershirt but with slightly thicker composition. Custom tailored to him by the finest craftsmen(and women) in the family, efficiency and comfort are two concepts that were nailed in their conception. Just six inches below the knee, the pants legs are wrapped tightly by white bandages and secured so that the rick of being caught on something, tripping, making noise, etc. etc. Is completely minimized to moot.

Footwear: Unlike the standard sandals found in Hi no Kuni, Gene's are noticeably different in that there is a quarter of an inch thick layer of protection around the base of the foot protecting where the major arteries and veins of the foot would be. There is also tremendous support around the ankle lessening the chance of sprains,fractures and so forth by way of accidental improper limb placement.
Outfit #2:
A "modified" variant of outfit #1, Gene still wears the black Hakama pants and long sleeved black undershirt from the first outfit. However, he no longer wears the flak vest substituting it instead for a brownish-green long sleeved shirt that is kept closed by a white sash (obi), essentially completing what would be considered a Gi style dress as the Hakama are still wrapped and bound at the upper calf down in a traditional fashion. Affixed to his upper shoulder down to the end of his bicep are an array of plated metal guards which offer similar protection as his wrist guards and besides the wrist guards seems to be the only variant of protection that Gene wears with this uniform.

Worn over his shirt Gene sports a deep sea blue sleeveless high collared haori which remains open in the front in addition to a same colored blue scarf that is tied around his neck in substitute of the white one worn in outfit #1.

Personality:
  • General: Generally speaking, Gene is fairly easy going or so he likes to believe. He abides by the core principles of his profession and as such, there are few things able to really get under his skin. However, that's not to say he doesn't have his limits; those who disrespect his will of fire, comrades or generally the things that he cares about will find themselves on his bad side much quicker than than they think.

    It's tough to discern exactly what he's thinking & as such, many people remark that it's difficult to understand exactly the kind of person that Gene is and therefore tend to be uncomfortable around him as he can be "unpredictable" though those fortunate enough to really befriend Gene will find that he is both kind and empathetic, willing to go above and beyond to help them out. However, he is both a realist and a minimalist at heart which are two traits that don't always align with the interests of others; specifically those who would prefer one extreme over the other without any real consideration of the possible implications, those who are swayed by emotions and those prone to going against what makes sense. In short, Gene could be considered practical at his best and outright defiant at his worst.
  • Hopes/Dreams: At one point Gene held dreams of a simple life of retirement once his career as a Shinobi reached its inevitable conclusion. However this would change soon after his former Sensei; Awai, Minoru and later colleague Gerudo, Zakuro fled the village. Unable to give pursuit of the two due to being far too busy mentoring his three Genin students, Gene now wishes for his former mentor and colleague to be brought back to the village in addition to ending the current state of affairs between Shinobi. He has also flirted with the idea of writing novels, inspired by reading Cloud of Sparrows to weave the tails of his own life for others to read and learn from.
  • Fears: Being killed or dying before he can realize his dream or before his students surpass him.
  • Combat Mentality: Of all the graduates in the millennial class it had been said countless times that Gene was ahead of his time in proficiency but lacking in finesse. He prefers gritty, violent ambush tactics that the more traditional fighter would absolutely abhor; mind-boggling strikes to the groin followed by a rough stab of a knife through the throat, even feigning surrender if necessary for the sake of baiting out a chance to make a killing blow. Raised as a weapon and trained as one, Gene's combat mentality is very grim but should never be confused with his personality. Additionally, because of his considerably low Stamina reserves Gene opts to end fights quickly as opposed to drawing them out, Relying on his speed and technique to subdue or kill his adversaries early on. If none of these options are possible however, Gene will adapt his tactics to the circumstance and do what must be done to overcome an adversary.

Combat style:
If at all possible, Gene prefers to avoid confrontation and leave no traces of his being there. However, if the need for combat arises Gene will put all of his training to use in order to keep the confrontation as brief as possible.

Gene carries a large sword which is 5’ long and one foot wide at the base. The sword weighs 18 kg or 40 lbs. The handle is 1’ long with a 4’ blade. The sword is one sided, with the non-bladed side being flat, and the bladed side starting at one feet in width and curving down to the point. Attached to the handle is a short chain that is a half of a meter in length, but when activated with chakra can extend to 15 meters.

Special note: Formerly belonging to Gerudo, Zakuro - the blade itself holds a special place in Gene's heart as it reminds him of how he was unable to prevent yet another comrade from fleeing the village and heading down the path of darkness. Each time that Gene uses the weapon it is with the sole resolve of cutting down his opponents so that they may never walk again, forever doomed to never run away.

When not in use, the blade is held secure on Gene's back via two click release belts. One of which is connected to his waist utility pouches (rear and hip pouch) and another that spans the width of his chest or sealed within a two toned Blue and white scroll that when unwraveled completely, spans two and a half meters. This scroll is worn on Gene's lower back when applicable and generally is standard unless otherwise specified.

Ankan's Greaves:
These shin guards of black steel have been famed throughout history for their use by the great monk Minkai and have found their place rightfully on Gene's Shin's in addition to his standard outfit. The greaves are rumoured to have been created by a great evil, due to their torturous effect. Each time the greaves touch a person's flesh, it breaks it down and dissolves it like an acid. This process is extremely painful, and will burn away an inch of flesh each post/brief touch that the contact occurs over. This will also melt away bone. The burns are measured off the opponents strength, those with less than 25 strength receive 2 degree of burn per contact (2nd degree burn on 1st contact, 4th degree on second contact), while those with 25+ strength receive 1 degree of burn per contact.

Taijutsu specialist are able to devote a total of 10 concentrations to taijutsu, unlike most people who are capped at 8. However, they are only able to devote a max of 5 concentrations to genjutsu, and a max of 5 concentrations to ninjutsu.

Sensory is advantageous as it allows shinobi to perceive without using any of their conventional senses, which can easily be deceived. Sensors are able to collect a lot of information through the interpretation of this sixth sense.

This concentration allows for the user to user chakra to affect the biological processes of a living creature. This includes modifying, speeding up, or slowing down the biological processes. Iijutsu is known for it's advanced nature and requires precise chakra control to work effectively. It can be differentiate from normal techniques by the faint light green colour of the chakra used in Iijutsu techniques.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Raiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Raiton affinity. Raiton has a shocking effect.

Raiton has the effect of shocking, which means causes it's effect to be diffuse upon impact. In organic material, this causes nervous stimulation which results in numbness, tingling, loss of sensation, and sometimes paralysis. In inorganic material, this means that the strength of the jutsu diffuses across an area 2x the size of the attack. In a jutsu that creates a lightning ball 2m in diameter, if it struck a wall the size of the attack would cover a 4m area.

Additionally, the strength of the nervous effect on organic material from raiton jutsu is determined by the ninjutsu stat requirement.

History
Gene's story so farShow
Born to a regular family within Hi no Kuni and corresponding village, Konohagakure no Sato; Gene had a relatively simple upbringing due to the fact that for better or worse, his parents were great Shinobi. Unfortunately he hadn't exactly shared their enthusiasm about becoming a ninja and would have much rather spent his time daydreaming or watching birds fly by - but, as with a lot of things in life sometimes you had to make sacrifices. Gene's "Sacrifices" started when he was only about five and his father more than anyone else in the family, began pushing Gene toward working for a future. Not for the family but rather for himself seeing as how one day the lad would be out on his own fending for himself. Now it was pretty evident that such an outcome wouldn't be for a long ways down the line but - the old man did have a point. And boy did Gene hate it when his old man made sense...there just wasn't any real way around it.

So with that goal in mind, Gene, his father, mother, and Grandparents all embarked on a long road to shaping the lad up for future life as a ninja. Training and studying on top of a strict diet and bedtimes - what wasn't to like ? Day in and day out it'd been about the same stuff over and over until the lad had come to discover that he'd actually been retaining the information - no really, it was crazy. Somewhere between the lectures and pointless (in his mind) exercises all this stuff had been beginning to make sense...and then, it got a little fun. By the time he'd hit the age of six Gene had been pretty much groomed for the academy and all it had to offer plus a little bit more. Sadly, he had other plans in store for the school.

Each day had pretty much gone how he'd imagined. They showed up, did a bit of talking and then the lectures began. By the time noon had hit Gene was ready to throw himself through a window and make for the nearest river to go dump himself - but of course, that wouldn't have made his family proud nor would it have been wise in his case. So like a sponge to water, he soaked up what he could and tried to slip in the occasional nap during those cumbersome lectures where possible; though usually the Chunin instructor caught wind of it and well, let's just say Gene had several rude awakenings. Despite the shenanigans his grades never dropped below a B in any given subject but the instructors could tell early on that he wasn't going to be the stand-out type. In comparison to some of his classmates who made it their personal goal to outshine everybody in everything, Gene only wanted to do just enough to both pass and keep his parents off his back. This would continue throughout his Academy experience up until the age of eleven where he'd briefly met Taiga.


Admittedly, during the final year of the program Gene buckled down and hit the books - hard. He wanted to at least have an educational advantage over some of the more gung-ho of the bunch by the time of graduation though ultimately, he figured out (with the help of watching his father around the house) that the brain was the most important tool that any ninja could have. It didn't matter how fancy your Shuriken technique looked if you weren't smart enough to recognize that the target being aimed at was nothing more than a decoy. That said, Gene's test scores and overall mindset reflected that of a tactician early on but the lack of drive to do much of anything continued to be the problem. In the end? He'd just barely managed to graduate.

Kept under wraps for his own benefit, Gene hadn't mentioned the fact that his Grandparents taught him how to control his chakra and mold it into an elemental affinity. It was for the best considering that if his overzealous mother found out there'd be quite a bit of a commotion. Fresh out of the Academy and lacking in any real significant backstory, Gene would seek to make his mark in the village in a different way. But first, he'd have to prove that he was a worthy Genin first. With average skills and some standard Shinobi training combined with an easily above average mindset, his road in end of itself already looked like it'd be something crazy.

Three years have past & since then, Gene has developed his mind, body & spirit into a more mature version of his former self. Tearing free of the shell that had once confined him he has forged ahead valiantly forming new bonds and friendships all throughout the village. From times of great unrest during an unexpected invasion to the current era of relative peace in its aftermath, Gene has proven himself a worthy Shinobi time and time again. What had once started off as an absurd moniker is now known to ring bells in the Hidden Leaf Village: Gene the Absent one, once a inexperienced Genin, now an esteemed Chunin of the village & member of Mamorinuku - Konoha's first response unit. With his comrades at his side, Gene continues to impress & has since vowed to bring those who brought destruction to his home land to justice.

"Tragedy after tragedy" seems to be the best way to describe life after promotion for Gene. From spoiled friendships to dealing with the loss of loved ones; the boy's senesce experience has opened a new door for him, one that has withered away at his old innocence and put in its place a hardened and bitter outlook on his chosen profession. Rarely found among the old Genin circle of his graduating class Gene has taken more to the higher ups in preparation for the next level; assignments with a greater risk factor than average, less time around the village & eventually a promotion even if it were just for the name sake. All in all, more than anything in the world, more than his title as a ninja, even more than perhaps the village of Konoha, Gene's journey to find himself has officially begun.

Those who did not know before of the Cloud Gazer , now hear tales of his exploits throughout Fire country as Gene continues to leave his mark by doing what it is that he does best - helping others. From being a hired bodyguard to infiltrating behind enemy lines and everything in between, Gene seems to be the go-to guy for just about any challenging task one can think of. Recognizing this, those of the council as well as the Head Shinobi in charge saw fit to promote Gene even higher up the ranking chain - but not without some apprehension. Despite his ability to adapt seamlessly in any situation and incredible reserve of knowledge, the one consistent problem in Gene's file seems to be his unwillingness to deviate from exactly what is expected of a Shinobi. For those who could not understand his drive and reasoning behind adhering to the rules Gene was considered difficult to work with and many refused to take assignments where he were selected as a member of the team. More importantly, many had spoken out against him being considered for a promotion in light of his unwillingness to deviate from protocol. However, the benefits to having someone infinitely familiar with protocol far outweighed the drawbacks and so Gene was eventually promoted (after a three year time skip) to special Jounin. Aged in body and mind, The Cloud Gazer has set his sets his sights on ANBU.

In just under a year after being promoted to Specialist Gene has achieved the unthinkable, becoming the youngest Shinobi in Konoha's ninja history to not only rise to the rank of Buntaicho within the Anbu Black ops organization but to succeed its former superior as the supreme Commander of the Anbu Black ops. A merit not to be taken lightly by any account and certainly earned through the young man's ability to combat and overcome seemingly insurmountable odds ranging from giant spirit creatures; a legendary serpentine monster & a great ferocious Dragon creature, guarding several high profile targets, assisting in the restoration of Whirlpool country to its former glory alongside Fanho, Takeo and many others and even facing off against the Juunanadaime Hokage himself who'd all but served as one of the founding members of ANBU in the organization's transformation from ROOT. Proving himself worthy in mind, body and soul Gene has assumed command of perhaps the most powerful and deadly force that Konoha has to offer, second in Authority to only the Hokage.

With the organization under his command, Gene now intends to bolster Konoha's swift response divisions and increase the spectrum of which Anbu maintain's influence. Moreover, he has begun working closely with Mamorinuku to sure up boarder and domestic security following in the example of the Third ANBU commander before him.

After performing the correct hand seals the user draws in a deep breath before exhaling out a 1 foot diameter fireball at the opponent. It travels up to 10 meters away at a speed of 4 and a strength of 14.

Prerequisites: 9 Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user draws in a deep breath before exhaling out a cone that is up to five meters long and three meters wide at it's base. The cone travels at a speed of 4 and pushes with a strength of 14.

D-Rank Ninjutsu
By channeling katon chakra into a metal weapon or blade, the user will cause it to grow hotter and cover the blade in flames. The imbued weapon will be able to carve through defenses of 5 or less strength with ease.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will create a copy of themselves out of katon chakra. Description: After weaving the hand signs of the Ox, Rabbit and tiger(Flavor and does not in any way affect hand seal speed); Gene will draw the channeled chakra from his core up into his chest causing his upper body to puff outward visibly. The amassed Katon chakra is then expelled up to 30 feet (10m) in a narrow flame between his fingers at 16 speed that progressively widens out into a conical shape reaching a peak width and height of 7 meters (21 feet) impacting at 16 strength. The roaring flames then explodes at 3 strength over 1m3

After performing the needed hand seals, the user draws in a deep breath before emitting it in the form of a series of small fireballs, about the size of a basketball at a speed of 11. The ninja can also hurl a projectile, which is covered in these same flames. To the opponent, the attack appears to be only the balls of flame, they do not see the hidden threat within the flames. Even if the flames are put out, the projectiles still converge on the target. The flames can be used to cover different projectiles like shuriken or kunai. The flames can travel up to thirty feet before dissipating. If the flames hit flesh, they will cause minor second-degree burns.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user draws in a deep breath before exhaling a thin stream of flames up to 15 meters away at a speed of 10. Either at 15 meters, or if the stream makes impact with anything, the stream will erupt into a spherical C-Rank explosion, scattering flames all over the immediate area.

After performing the correct hand seals the user exhales a ring of fire up to 20 meters away at a speed of 20. On impact the ring immediately erupts outwards and upwards as it's dancing flames form a dome with a 5 meter diameter and a 3 meter pitch. The dome is held together at a strength of 20 for 4 posts before falling apart into wild flames.

Prerequisites: 24 in Ninjutsu stat
Description: After weaving the necessary hand seals Gene will gather chakra from his stomach into his chest while inhaling a large breath of air, causing his chest to poke out noticeably. In a single exhale of the gathered breath, he will forcefully expel a three inch diameter stream of narrow cylindrical flames into a space in front of him. Holding the exhale, the narrow stream continues to grow reaching a size of 2m over a three second delay period before violently launching forward at 24 speed for a distance up to 9 meters. During travel, the flames widen out spanning across the length of 10 meters, a height of 10 meters and width of 10 meters. Upon impact the flames will explode at 24 strength spanning a 10m Diameter.

Prerequisite: 24 Ninjutsu, Erupting burning finger

Description: Building Chakra at the tips of both index and middle fingers, Gene will focus on a target or area up to twenty-four meters from him. This area, influenced by his Volatile Katon chakra then becomes unstable to the point of triggering an explosion of heat and flames at 24 speed and strength across a range of 8x8x8 meters applying the ignition passive and second degree burns to those affected. Prior to explosion, a high pitched whistling like noise can be heard indicative of the attack so that a keen observer may defend themselves. Furthermore, this technique while incredibly volatile, may be used in conjunction with either Genjutsu or other forms of Katon ninjutsu.

Katon • The All-Consuming Dragon Fire
A-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 30 Ninjutsu
A devastating technique capable of decimating landscapes and suppressing powerful foes, the all-consuming dragon fire is initiated by channeling a large amount of chakra, culminating in the users chest. Exhaling, the jutsu will fire off as a cone-shaped stream of blazing fire. The stream extends 40 meters in length, starting off as only a meter thick and widening gradually to a diameter of 30 meters at the end. The heat from this attack is so intense that it can crack stone and reduce full trees to ashes. the user can maintain this technique for up to two posts and can turn his head to change the angle of the attack accordingly. The flames move at a speed of 35 and impact with a force of 25.

Prerequisites: 34 Ninjutsu , 26 control

Description: weaving a sequence of hand seals Gene will begin gathering a large amount of Chakra before holding one or both of his hands out in front of him with the palms facing upward, towards the sky. Three inches above one or both of his hands, a sphere of flames in the likeness of the sun will manifest at 25 speed growing to the size of a basketball. The flames themselves are hot enough to crack stone, completely incinerate tall trees, and dry up small ponds or lakes. Launched forward with chakra this jutsu impacts( & burns) with 43 Strength before expanding outwards, upwards and below 25 meters. This jutsu can be held for a post count of 3 before needing to be either used or dispelled.

[*]Note: Because of the ignition passive of Katon, this jutsu spreads secondary fires after impact at a speed of 1/3rd the forming speed of the jutsu and will continue to burn so long as there is flammable material to feed the flames.

A technique utilizing raw chakra, the Chakra Burst technique creates additional concussive force when striking. After channeling chakra into his/her fist, the user will attempt to make contact with the opponent. In the event that the strike is successful, the impact, beyond just being a normal punch, gains ½ the strength of an exploding tag.

The most basic tracking technique available, Tracking Device requires the user to first imbue a strand of their own hair with chakra. Once this has been done, s/he will place it on their target. The user can track the general location of the strand of hair as long as it remains within a mile, at a minimum distance of 100 yards, of where s/he is currently. Otherwise, the chakra will dissipate at the end of six (6) posts.

D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A supplementary technique used to create a rope of chakra, this technique begins with a short set of handseals. Once these have been completed, the user will hold their arms apart and form the rope between them. The rope can be variable lengths to a max of 3 meters in length. It is highly resistant to cutting by any normal object and can resist weak strength techniques up to (13 strength) quite well. The rope, while resilient, does not provide any defense and finds its use in tying up people or animals, as rope usually does. The rope lasts for a time equal to the user's stamina stat (to a maximum of 7).

A technique focused on boosting the user's strength, Pumped begins with a set of handseals. Once they are completed, the user will focus chakra throughout their muscles to stimulate them. With this extra stimulation, users gain a firmer grasp over their body (+1 strength) at the cost of their control over other techniques (-1 control). This technique lasts for three (3) posts.

Description: Gene will channel chakra into a projectile then weave a short sequence of hand seals as he throws it which then will replicate producing a cloud of that item in a 5m^3 area moving at the same speed and strength. These projectiles cut just as sharp as the weapon thrown, and disappear after they've hit a target.

After performing the correct hand seals the user forms a 10m3 barrier around a target up to 10m away from their position. The barrier forms at a speed of 12, has a strength of 8, and lasts 4 posts before fading away.

A technique utilizing Chakra Rope, Bind allows users to bind opponents at a range. After forming the necessary handseals and taking hold of the rope created in Chakra Rope, users gain limited control over the rope's range of movements. While most of the movements are fairly basic, the user can use this additional control to wind the rope around an opponent's body, binding them with a rope as strong as mentioned in Chakra Rope.

Despite requiring both hands and more time than *[Basic Jutsu • Chakra Kai], Multiple Chakra Kai allows the user to activate up to five objects simultaneously, up to 20 + (Control/2) meters away.

The base technique for summoning, the Spiritualism Technique allows users to bring forth their summons to fight on their behalf. Once an agreement has been made between the user and his/her summon, s/he will be able to use this technique to call upon it at any time unless stated otherwise. The chakra used for this technique varies, as it is dependent on the size and rank of what is being summoned. Once it has been summoned, the user will experience a constant drain on his/her chakra for as long as the summon is in place. This drain is also dependent on the size and rank of the summon.

C-Ranked Ninjutsu
An advanced form of the Transformation Technique, after performing the correct hand seals and holding the final one temporarily, the user will coat and mold chakra around their body into the shape and form of something or someone which is no more than twice their size at a speed of 4. This technique's true advantage is that the disguise is given physical substance. This means, for example, if they transform into something with claws, they will have claws that can physically be used. For the disguises 5 post duration, if it is damaged by a hit of 16 or more strength, the disguise "poofs" from existence. This includes collateral damage caused by striking an opponent that may occur to the disguise.

Chanelling Chakra into his mouth, Gene will manifest a two inch long long Senbon chakra construct behind his teeth which is then spat at a target at 5 speed up to 30 meters away. Upon impact, the Chakra construct will slam into whatever Gene has targeted at 30 strength before releasing a 1m³ explosion with 2 strength.

After forming the needed handseals, the user proceeds to create a number of clones of themselves (maximum is equal to the user's stamina). Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies of the user in both appearance and substance. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but they will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. Given that the clones are an exact replica of the user, they share the same stats except for stamina, which is determined by the number of clones presently in effect.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will cause their hair to rapidly grow and cocoon their body for protection. The hair does this at a speed of 20, and when done, will have formed thick layers of rigid hair to protect the user from attacks of 20 and less strength. Upon completely cocooning the user, the hair disconnects from the user's hair, leaving it at it's original length. The hair of the cocoon is chakra infused, providing immunity to electricity and for up to four posts.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will imbue an item with their chakra that is no larger than a basketball. The next thing to touch the object within 3 posts will feel the chakra lurch off the object, shocking their body and overwhelming them. For those with less than 20 strength they will find themselves immobile for the next 5 posts. If the target that touches the object has 20 or higher strength, they will find themselves unaffected.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will cause their existing barrier to compact at a speed of 20 and strength of 30, shrinking as it's walls push in and caught whatever is inside, before dissipating completely.

After channeling chakra into their body, the user enhances their movement to attack or retreat suddenly, the ninja almost instantly moves up to 20 meters on the ground in a single straight direction. While doing this, the ninja cannot move through anything or anyone, nor can they supplement it with an attack of any kind. After the quick movement has stopped, there is a brief pause where the user must recover from the movement. Even though it's not a full teleportation, this jutsu uses up one of the 2 teleportations a character can use in a single thread.

This only gives the Shinobi an idea of how many entities with chakra are present in their general area.

If they, or the chakra source, moves out of range, the user will lose track of them.

The sensor will activate their sensory jutsu, and then do a second set of hand seals. For the next 5 posts, any time anyone within the range of their sensory activates a jutsu, the user will see their chakra “flare” momentarily. While they won’t know anything about the jutsu, it will give them a better idea of the battle field.

The sensor will activate their sensory jutsu, and then do an additional set of hand seals. By doing so, the user will be able to compare the “strength” of each source of chakra they are able to sense to each other. The “strength” of the individual is determined by the average of each person’s Stamina, Control and Strength stats. The user can determine who has more chakra strength than others, allowing them to pick out possible risks. This technique is not very reliable as a determining factor, however.

This jutsu is an extension of [Beyond Senses]. With this jutsu initiated, a sensor can focus on individual chakra signatures to get a precise idea of where their opponents are at up to 25 meters. A general sense of the direction and number of chakra sources can be determined at about 50 meters. It should be noted that this jutsu requires intense concentration, often making the user shut their eyes so they can focus on the jutsu solely. Even with high levels of Chakra Control and Instinct, this jutsu can be mentally taxing as it requires the user to sort through the individual chakra sources in the sensor’s range.

Having used the flare, the user will look out for any flares. Upon noticing one, the user will immediately do a single hand seal, allowing them to determine the affinity, strength, and speed if applicable, and sense where that chakra is going specifically. This means if it’s a projectile, they’ll be able to track and see the projectile in their minds eye. If it’s a fuuinjutsu, they are able to see that a fuuinjutsu is activated, but will not be able to follow the result unless they activate this jutsu again. This jutsu is very effective due to it’s broad mechanic.

This also works for thrown weapons, however if the projectile remains out of contact with the user for more than 2 posts the technique will dissipate early.

They will then be able to fire up to three total bullet sized balls of concentrated lightning from their fingertips. These bullets will travel at 5 speed, but will not have any physical force. Instead, they will apply light electrical burns similar to a sun burn and will apply Raiton's shocking effect.

Once charged, these small sphere's of Raiton elemental chakra can be thrown as a projectile toward any noun within feasible distance. Upon contact with said noun the projectile will latch on to the target and detonate with the force of one explosive tag.

    After performing the correct hand seals, the user will seep Raiton chakra in an area around them with a 20m diameter. The user's Raiton techniques will travel 5 points faster when they travel through this zone for 3 posts. This technique ends the moment the user leaves this area. They also return to normal speed upon leaving the area. This technique does not apply the shocking effect.

    After performing the correct hand seals, the user emits a wave of electricity from their palm in a single direction. This is produced as a 10m wide line which extends 2m into the air and travels up to 25m from the user at 10 speed. The wave will apply the shocking effect and reduce the speed of any living thing it strikes by 5 points for 3 posts by electrically interfering with the brain's nervous signals.

    After performing the correct hand seals, the user creates two orbs of lightning the size of basketballs slightly above their head. They are then able to direct these orbs at a speed of 10 at their will, however they may not move while doing this. These orbs cannot leave a 40m diameter around the user, and detonate with the power of a single explosive tag each on contact with a solid. These orbs last a maximum of 4 posts, and may be self destructed at any moment in their lifespan at the user's will.

    After performing the correct hand seals, the user emits a wave of electricity from their palm in a single direction. This is produced as a 10m wide line which extends 2m into the air and travels up to 25m from the user at 10 speed. The wave will apply the shocking effect and reduce the speed of any living thing it strikes by 5 points for 3 posts by electrically interfering with the brain's nervous signals.

    After performing the correct hand seals, a beam of lightning will erupt from the user's hand. The lightning will travel 50m at 20 speed and explode with the force of 4 explosive tags on contact, while applying the Raiton shocking effect throughout the explosion's area.

    Prerequisites : 20 Instinct, 15 control
    This technique was created by Gene for the specific purpose of augmenting his physical body in terms of Endurance. By concentrating Raiton elemental chakra throughout his entire being Gene is able to stimulate both muscles & nerves of the brain essentially improving his reaction time by marginal amount. The armor envelops Gene at a speed of 18 and lasts for up to 5(five) posts unless damage in excess of (22) strength is sustained.

    The user will first perform the correct hand seals before releasing a basketball sized orb of lightning 15m into the air. The orb will then cascade sheets of lightning down in the shape of a dome over the caster, with a 15m radius. This dome, apart from being exceptionally loud, forms a sort of protection against attacks. It comes into being at 20 speed, and is able to redirect hits of up to 20 strength in a downward direction. These sheets of lightning also serve as a visual obscurity. This technique lasts for up to 3 posts depending on the user's discretion.

    Prerequisite: 25 speed, Instict 30
    Gene will gather a concentrated amount of lightning in his hand after performing the hand seals for this technique. The lightning causes a sound similar to thousands of birds chirping over the top of each other while it is in existence. He will then dash at full speed toward a target. He will then attempt to thrust his hand into(through) their target's body. The lightning is able to give the hand the ability to burn through a person's body. The lightning then shocks the target as per Raiton's passive abilities. Those with 35+ speed will find this technique gives them +10 strength when combating defensive techniques. The lightning disappears from the user's hand after 2 posts.

    Note: With Gene's Instinct level being so high (33) he can use this technique without experiencing the effects of tunnel vision.

    Prerequisite:*[Ninjutsu • Shadow Clone Technique]
    Created through the study of the infamous Shadow Clone technique, Gene has applied the fundamentals of Kage Bunshin to a unique form of Bunshin dubbed; Raiton Release: Kage Bunshin, otherwise known as Lightning style: Shadow clone. Like the standard Shadow clone the Raiton Kage Bunshin takes after the creator in both appearance and physical mass meaning that it is able to interact with the physical world and cast jutsu. However, the Raiton style Shadow clone is not perfect by any means as a solid blow or two is enough to destroy it. This variant of the Shadow clone technique carries all of Gene's stats evenly varying by the number of clones created (save for stamina).

    Prerequisites: *Raiton • Thousand Birds , 26 control , 27 Ninjutsu , 25 instinct (improvised jutsu).
    After manifesting the *Raiton • Thousand Birds technique Gene will thrust his hand into the ground allowing the electricity to flow through it. This electricity will then sprout violently from the ground as three intersecting bolts of lightning at a speed of 30, each boasting a twelve inch diameter forming the letter "Ӝ". At its max height, this variant of Raikiri elevates up to 5 meters in the air and impacts hard with twenty-four strength. Those struck by this technique are impaled and held in place, paralyzed by the Raiton's passive effect in a "Crucifix" posture. Designed to either kill or capture mid-ranged targets, this improvised Raikiri technique has a maximum distance of fifteen meters though can be deployed at shorter distances if need be.

    Prerequisite: Raiton • Thousand Birds
    After performing the hand seals similar to that of the Thousand Birds technique, the user will begin to spark with various bolts of electricity. For up to 6 posts the user will be surrounded by crackling lightning, which will immediately lash out at any person or metallic object within 30 meters of them at 35 speed. This will then strike with 20 strength and apply second degree electrical burns to those it hits. The user cannot cast any other techniques while this technique is active.

This simple technique is utilized by medical-nin in place of traditional thermometers, although it is not as accurate. After forming a single handseal and focusing chakra into an object in his/her hand, the user can place it within the mouth (or rear) of the patient. If the patient's temperature is above normal body temperature, the chakra within the object will clump together near the top of it, while if the body temperature is below average, the chakra will form much lower down on the object. This technique can be held as long as the user has chakra.

When real latex gloves are not on hand, the *[Iijutsu • Chakra Gloves] technique comes in quite handy. After forming a single handseal, the user will focus chakra into his/her hands to form a thin layer of chakra around them. This chakra will help to protect other objects against the bacteria on the user's hands if sterilization is not an option before beginning a procedure. This technique can be held as long as the user has chakra.

Not unlike the *[Iijutsu • Chakra Gloves] technique, *[Iijutsu • Chakra Mask] shines when the real deal is not on hand. After forming a single handseal, the user will focus chakra into the area around his/her mouth and nose to form a thin layer of chakra around them. This chakra will help to keep the user from breathing bacteria onto a patient during procedures. This technique can be held as long as the user has chakra.

*[Iijutsu • Sterilization Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
As sanitation cannot always be guaranteed in field operations, this technique provides a quick substitute to traditional sterilization methods. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will channel the chakra throughout his/her upper body (torso, arms, hands, face). This chakra will chew away at harmful bacteria and other foreign bodies on the skin, cleansing it until it is thoroughly sterile, and can be spread to objects, most commonly surgical tools. Of course, this takes both concentration and time, and in order to sterilize the entire upper body, it will take a duration of one (1) post. Users of this technique can also choose to sterilize certain parts of their upper body or the wounds of another person instead for a lesser concentration period. Once they are sanitized, they remain this way until coming in contact with more bacteria.

*[Iijutsu • Oxygen Flow]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Simple in its form yet highly effective in practice, the *[Iijutsu • Oxygen Flow] technique allows its users to clear obstructed airways, to perform less extensive CPR, and to give cells the oxygen they crave. After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will place both over the target's chest (through the back works as well). By allowing the chakra to be channeled throughout the lungs and up through the air ways, any unseen, solid or liquid obstructions will be cleared from these passages and ejected through the mouth, allowing the patient to breathe more easily. Additionally, the hands can be placed over the heart to help oxygenate the body's cells. In this instance, users must be much more careful, as over-oxygenating cells can cause more harm than good. This technique takes the entirety of one post to perform.

*[Iijutsu • Blood Clot Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
This highly useful field technique is applied to bleeding wounds to help encourage the coagulation of the blood. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them over the bleeding wound and begin to channel chakra through it. The chakra will began to thicken the blood, causing it to clot. Wounds must be dealt with one at a time, and the number of wounds that can be tended to within the three (3) posts that this technique lasts depends on their size. Small wounds take very little time to clot, while moderate wounds take one (1) post of concentration to clot, and large wounds take two (2) posts to clot. Although this technique stops the bleeding, the wound remains vulnerable and will require further care after this has been performed.

*[Iijutsu • Skin Separation]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Typically used to make the autopsy process smoother, the *[Iijutsu • Skin Separation] technique separates the skin of the corpse from the underlying muscle. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will slowly move them over the desired area, usually holding them about an inch away from the body itself. As the chakra is channeled through the flesh, it will slowly sink to the final layer of the skin and begin to form a new layer between the skin and the muscle beneath. After this layer has fully formed, the chakra will stay there for four (4) posts, allowing the user to easily separate the flesh and muscle. This non-combat technique cannot be used on living beings as the postmortem physiology is different from that of a living creature.

*[Iijutsu • Burn Ointment Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A relatively simple and handy technique to have at hand, *[Iijutsu • Burn Ointment Technique] is used to alleviate pain caused by burn wounds. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them above the burn wound. As the chakra is channeled into and around the burn, it cools the area and works to prevent harmful, scar-producing blistering in the affected area. To provide this soothing relief to small areas of first degree burns, it's fairly quick to do. For small areas of second degree burns, it takes one (1) post of concentration to achieve the same effects. This technique is ineffective when applied to larger areas or burns worse than second degree.

*[Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
When traditional stitching supplies aren't available, *[Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching] truly shines. After performing a short set of handseals, the user will gently place his/her index finger at the base of the patient's wound. Once this is done, the user will lift his/her finger and touch it to the other side of the wound, causing a visible 'stitch' of chakra to appear. This is repeated until the wound has been pulled together. Although precision is key, this technique can still be performed relatively quickly. Small to moderate wounds take very little time to stitch, while large wounds will take one (1) post of work to mend. This technique drains a minuscule amount of chakra from the person it is attached to in order to keep the stitches going, theoretically, ad-infinitum, and can be cancelled at any time by the user with a single handseal. Any intensive or strenuous movements will cause the stitches to break.

A simple yet vital medical technique, the *[Iijutsu • Bandage Technique] provides its users with the ability to create makeshift bandages out of any suitable material they desire. After channeling chakra into an object (such as a leaf, piece of cloth, etc.), the user is able to apply it to the wound of a patient. Once applied, the selected object will adhere to the flesh around the wound, protecting it from bacteria and other harmful foreign bodies. Objects used for the bandage technique are automatically sterilized in the process. These bandages drain a minuscule amount of chakra from the person it is attatched to in order to keep them stuck on, theoretically, ad-infinitum, and can be cancelled at any time by the user with a single handseal. This simple ninjutsu is comprised of the user's knowledge of the human body and the ability to mask all vital signs. By focusing chakra throughout the body to preserve its function while in this state, the user can appear to be dead as long as they have chakra to spare. This act can seem very realistic to the untrained opponent, but is foiled by sensor techniques, certain doujutsu and jutsu, and the *[Iijutsu • Medical Diagnosis Technique] technique

Perhaps one of the most important Iijutsu techniques to date, the *[Iijutsu • Medical Diagnosis Technique] allows its users to probe another's body in search for medical answers. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will begin to channel it into the patient's body. Using this chakra as an internal extension of his/her hand to feel for abnormalities and other issues, the user is often able to determine the problem after some time and concentration. In order for a thorough examination to provide sufficient answers, the user will focus for up to one (1) post, seeking signs of internal and external damage, organ malfunction and disease among other ailments. Although skilled medical-nin have the possibility to work faster, skill cannot be substituted in for thoroughness.

*[Iijutsu • Basic Antidote Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: User's averaged Instinct and Control stats must be 10 or above
A useful, but particularly taxing technique, the *[Iijutsu • Basic Antidote Technique] is performed on poisoned patients. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will make a small incision (with a knife, scalpel, etc.) on the patient and then place his/her hands over the new wound. As this chakra is channeled into the body, it extracts the poison out of it and into the user's palm. After one (1) post of the extraction process, the user will remove his/her hand, and place it over a container of some sort (anything that can bear liquid). From here, the liquid poison will be ejected from the hand along with the remaining chakra that was used to extract it. As this chakra interacts with the poison over the course of a second post, its molecules will be rearranged to form the antidote for the poison in question. This works only on C-Rank or lower poisons. The antidote takes a total of three (3) posts to fully rid the body of the poison.

Formulated to work in conjunction with the *[Iijutsu • Basic Antidote Technique], *[Iijutsu • Imperfect Cure] extends upon the antidote created in the aforementioned technique. Once the antidote has been concocted following the description of the *[Iijutsu • Basic Antidote Technique], the user will begin to channel additional chakra throughout the antidote to make it especially potent. This increased potency not only rids the body of the C-Rank or lower liquid poison that was in the body over the (3) posts it takes to work, but also induces an immunity in the patient which lasts for seven (7) posts.

*[Iijutsu • Bone Fracture Technique]
C-Ranked Nintaijutsu
Prerequisite: *[Iijutsu • Chakra Scalpel]
Once the *[Iijutsu • Chakra Scalpel] has been activated, users may choose to use this jutsu as an alternative to the aforementioned technique's usual action. When in close range, the user will attempt to jab his/her charged hand at the opponent, seeking to connect with a bone. If successful, the chakra will be released into the opponent's body as a sharp, precise burst to the area of contact, causing the bone to fracture. If this area is struck again in the same spot, the bone will inevitably break. This technique does not harm anything but the bone—not even the skin—and is dispelled after three (3) posts or until contact with the opponent is made. However, since both hands are charged, the user has two chances with this technique per use (one per hand).

*[Iijutsu • Burn Treatment]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: *[Iijutsu • Burn Ointment Technique]
A step up in the ability to treat burns, *[Iijutsu • Burn Treatment] is used to alleviate pain caused by burn wounds. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them above the burn wound. As the chakra is channeled into and around the burn, it cools the area and works to prevent harmful, scar-producing blistering in the affected area. To provide this soothing relief to medium-sized areas of first degree and second degree burns, it's fairly quick to do. For small-sized areas of third degree burns, it takes one (1) post of concentration to achieve the same effects. This technique is ineffective when applied to larger areas or burns worse than third degree.

*[Iijutsu • Blood Transfer Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
A simple technique that requires its users to sacrifice a little to save a life, the*[Iijutsu • Blood Transfer Technique] does exactly what its name suggests. To prepare for this procedure, the user must make a small incision into the patient's body and follow by opening a vein. Once the vein has been open, the user will begin to channel chakra into it. Over the course of one (1) post, the patient's blood will gain density and stabilize itself. Users of this technique must be aware that their own blood will dilute over the duration of this technique, as it is essentially transferring blood from their bodies to the patient's. No more than 1 liter (2 pints) of blood can be transferred using this technique without severe repercussions for the user.

*[Iijutsu • Skin Irritation]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
One of the few offensive techniques found within the spectrum of Iijutsu, *[Iijutsu • Skin Irritation] is utilized in close quarters by medical-nin. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will wait until the opponent is close enough to make bodily contact. Once this happens, the user will attempt to touch the opponent on an open area of flesh. The moment contact is made, the chakra in the hand(s) that made contact will be forcibly channeled into the opponent's body and begin to irritate the skin. In the first post after making contact, large, itchy, red hives will erupt in the area of contact. During the second post after contact, they will spread throughout that entire limb or body part. In the final post of its spreading duration, it covers the entirety of the opponent's body and the itching lasts an additional three (3) posts after this is completed. Although the itching stops, the hives will remain tender (like a sunburn) until medical attention is received.

*[Iijutsu • Chakra Scalpel]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
Perhaps one of the most dangerous and revered Iijutsu honed by medical-nin, the *[Iijutsu • Chakra Scalpel] is no precision instrument. After performing the necessary handseals, the user will begin to focus an ample amount of chakra into his/her hands. Once charged with chakra, the user will attempt to place his/her hands on the target. If the user is able to connect the entirety of his/her palm, the chakra will be released into the opponent's body, slicing tissue, organs and veins up to 4 inches from the surface in an area roughly the size of the user's hand. The skin remains unblemished by this technique, as it only causes small to moderate internal wounds. As this technique is dangerous and mostly uncontrolled, the precision needed to kill instantaneously is lost. The chakra used in this technique is highly visible when first activated and emanates from both hands for a duration of three (3) posts or until contact with the opponent is made.

*[Iijutsu • Intermediate Antidote Technique]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: *[Iijutsu • Basic Antidote Technique]; user’s averaged Instinct and Control stats must be 25 or above
Just as its basic form, the *[Iijutsu • Intermediate Antidote Technique] is a useful, but particularly taxing Iijutsu performed on poisoned patients. After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will begin to channel it through the area of the break or fracture. As this chakra makes contact with the bone, it will stimulate the calcium production of the body and begin to mend the bone. To mend small-to-medium breaks, it takes one (1) post of concentration, while fractures are usually very quick to mend. Multiple breaks can be mended during the use of this technique as it lasts for a total of five (5) posts or until canceled. Users should beware that, like other regenerations of this kind, the nutrient stores of the patient's body are being depleted during its use, and too many uses of this technique in a short span of time can cause serious damage.

A-Ranked Ninjutsu
An advanced technique that requires both quick reflexes and prediction, the *[Iijutsu • Secret Healing Injury Destruction] technique is highly formidable due to its effects. In the event that the user is aware that they will be hit in a specific place, s/he may attempt to focus chakra into that area before the strike connects. If successful, any damage to the damaged area will immediately begin to regenerate, be it a bruise, small fracture, or a small-to-moderate cut. These wounds can take up to one (1) post to heal fully depending on their size and severity, where fractures and moderate wounds would take the entire post. However, during this regeneration process, users are not rendered immobile and can continue to fight while their wounds regenerate. This technique can only be used a maximum of three (3) times per thread.

*[Iijutsu • Chaotic Mental Collision]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: Must have Raiton
Utilizing electricity to work, the *[Iijutsu • Chaotic Mental Collision] technique is a highly dangerous Iijutsu. To begin, the user will focus regular chakra into his/her hands moments prior to electrifying it with Raiton chakra. This charged chakra will be used in an attempt to disrupt the target's nervous system through close-range contact with the user's hand. If the user is able to connect the flat of his/her palm with the opponent's body, the chakra will be released into it. As this chakra interacts with the foe's nervous system over the course of three (3) posts, it will begin to sever the brain's communication with the rest of the body. During the first post, motor skills such as walking, talking and moving one's hands will be delayed by several seconds. During the second post, the target will begin to lose control over movement in his/her body as the action delay grows worse. By the third post, all motor skills will cease and the target will be rendered immobile. This complete immobility lasts for two (2) posts.

*[Iijutsu • Mystical Palm]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 20 Iijutsu
One of the almighty and most highly coveted abilities of medical-nin, the *[Iijutsu • Mystical Palm] technique allows its users to heal wounds quickly and efficiently. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will place them over the wound in question and begin to channel chakra through it. As the chakra interacts with the cells and tissues in the area, the wound will begin to regenerate and heal over until there's no remnant of it ever being there. Of course, this is not done in the blink of an eye. To heal small-to-moderate wounds, it takes very little time, while large wounds take one (1) post of concentration to mend, and mortal wounds take a total of two (2) posts to fully mend. This technique lasts for four (4) posts, but due to its chakra-extensive nature, users are not advised to treat multiple large wounds in a single use.

Developed for clandestine operations originally, instead of using ink and paper, the user draws a seal onto their body the size of the item they are sealing into their body. Upon doing a set of hand seals, the user then slides the item into the tattoo and performs a second seal, causing the seal to go dormant. When kai'd the seal releases the stored item.

D-Rank Storage Fuuinjutsu
After drawing a seal formula on a surface, appropriate in size to the weapon being sealed but no larger than 3x9 inches, the user forms the needed hand seals then may place as many of that singular object into the scroll as desired. When done, the user performs another set of hand seals and touches the seal closing it off as the seal condenses to the shape of the object stored. This seal is the only known sealing applications that allows depth storage and unfortunately this cannot be done at larger sizes. Tools can only be released at a maximum of 10 at a time, and are released with zero force.

D-Rank Force Fuuinjutsu
After drawing an 2x5 inch seal formula on a surface the user forms the needed hand seals then touches the seal, arming it with their chakra. Upon being kai'd, the tag releases it's stored energy as a D-Rank Explosion of concussive force outward from itself.

*Fuuinjutsu • Minor Weapon Defense
D-Rank Storage & Force Fuuinjutsu
By having an empty scroll with a seal formula placed on it, the user is able to use the seal as a defensive measure. Holding a single, one-handed hand seal, the user attempts to block the incoming small sized weapon (kunai or smaller) with the scroll. Right before contact is actually made, the weapon will be sealed into the seal. This seal cannot be used multiple times, and if the incoming projectile has more than 5 strength, it will overpower it, making the technique useless.

Toryu, a style of Kenjutsu founded in the Land of Pebbles, melds traditional kenjutsu swordplay with subversive feints and sudden bursts of close quarters combat, two unyielding hills crashing together to form a mountain. Toryu typically favors use of the blade with one hand, utilizing the freedom of movement to use one's hands, joints, legs, head, and even the hilt and handle of the sword to make an already deadly style more unpredictable and more lethal. Ignorantly considered a very "unrefined" style by most practitioners of the sword, Toryu is actually one of the most difficult styles of Kenjutsu to learn and master. The very basic premise of the style revolves around the firm control and manipulation of one's own movements and body, some techniques requiring execution while using another attack as a feint or misdirection while not sacrificing strength. The style has no weapon requirements outside of a sword, but many users often prefer kodachi, wakizashi, ninjato, or even tanto, the reduced size and weight of the blades having fewer blindspots and making the user's weapon more mobile.

The signature Stance of Toryu, practitioners relax the muscles in their bodies, gaining additional flexibility in their movements in how they approach the enemy, how they retreat, how they evade attacks, and how they attack the opponent. This Stance allows the practitioner to more easily read opponent's attacks and defend against them by evading in unusual ways, such as ducking, bending around, and quickly sidestepping attacks without needlessly exposing themselves to additional attacks. This fleet-footed Stance lets the practitioner mix up their movements to confuse and misdirect the opponent, allowing them to attack lesser known openings in the opponent's guard. It also allows the practitioner to rapidly and reflexively change the angle, position and grip of their weapon with minimal movement, allowing them multiple manners in which they can attack the opponent or defend against attacks.

D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite(s): 8 Taijutsu, 8 Strength.
A practitioner of Toryu is capable of attacking with every part of their body, even their heads. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity and experience with executing palm strikes, heel strikes, knee strikes, elbow strikes, and headbutts/skull bashes just as effectively as regular punches, kicks, and sword strikes. This Discipline allows the practitioner to consistently execute these kinds of attacks while minimizing or eliminating openings in their defenses or shock/damage they would experience while using these kinds of strikes.

Prerequisite(s): 8 Taijutsu, 8 Strength.
One of Toryu's many grappling techniques, the practitioner steps in close to the opponent, slamming their heel into the opponent's foot to lock the target in place. In the same movement, the practitioner grabs the opponent's arm and flips them over their back, slamming them to the ground. The prone position this leaves the opponent in leaves them exposed to an attack of opportunity from the practitioner's weapon after executing this technique.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 8 Taijutsu, 8 Strength.
Designed as a counterattack but also a potent attack by itself, the practitioner will first wait to sidestep an attack before countering with a swift elbow strike with their sword hand to the opponent's face to stun them or cause them to stagger by winding them, grabbing the opponent's arm or garment with their unarmed hand to hold them in place. Immediately following the elbow strike, the practitioner will pull the opponent to one side while executing a slash in the opposite direction with their sword hand.

*[Toryu • Lethal Familiarity]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Many of the Toryu techniques would put the user in incredibly daring positions where a single mistake could instantly spell disaster for the swordsman. As a result, Toryu practitioners must train themselves constantly to avoid letting their fears distract them from their task. A practitioner with this technique has learned to shut out fear in the heat of combat, allowing them to perform attacks and techniques without the risk of failure due to fear responses.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
An unorthodox use of swordsmanship, the practitioner rushes the opponent and leaps at them, attempting to land on their shoulders. Should the practitioner succeed, they will forcefully shift their weight onto the opponent's shoulders, potentially unbalancing them. Description: Taught extensively in the way of a true Shinobi, Gene has learned the art of tracking his target(s) in various terrain archetypes. By studying footprints, handprints, broken branches and other irregularities left by someone he may pick up on their trail and follow it. Unless significantly altered by environmental factors Gene may follow the physical sign of a trail even if it is several days or weeks old.

Description: When in close proximity to a target Gene will attempt to lift an item of interest off that person; utilizing his speed and precise hand movements to take an item often times without the person being aware of what they've lost until it's too late, provided the average of his speed and Taijutsu stats are higher than the instinct of his target. When performed on targets who's instinct stat is equal to the average of Gene's Taijutsu and speed totals then the chance of this maneuver being successful is greatly diminished but not improbable. Conversely, he may also plant items on a person using this method without them being aware.

Gene has trained his eyes to be able to catch even the faintest hints of movements, allowing him to determine threats such as an opponent launching an attack or a trap getting ready to go off. Even something as subtle as the brief tensing of a muscle can be picked up by his incredible eyesight.

Through intensive training Gene has taken another step further in becoming a true Shinobi. He may now remain completely silently when walking and running but those with higher ranked hearing techniques may still hear him.

Description: As a Shinobi, it is imperative to be able to distinguish between the sounds of nature and those that are unnatural for the sake of one's own safety. To that end, Gene has gained enough experience to be able to tell the difference between natural sounds and those of a battle. Additionally, he may tune out sounds to focus on specific sounds and noises making him much harder to fool.

Description: There are times when in order to remain silent, unnoticed and most of all hidden, one must adapt to their environment in order to best utilize the natural resources available to them. To that affect Gene has learned the importance of being able to get around without walking or running to his destinations by quite literally crawling or maintaining cover by lying prone on the ground. While this does not in any way make him completely invisible, it does make him a smaller target therefore, harder to spot in most situations where cover is optimal and in the proper setting. Effectively, this means that he could hide in the bushes or foliage without drawing attention to himself or behind rocks, logs and similar forms of small cover without standing out from his environment. While in this stance, he may crawl at his full speed and strength without making noise. Another functional component of the stance is Gene's awareness of where he is in relativity to the wind, often instinctively making sure that he opposite whichever direction the wind is blowing to avoid his scent being carried and potentially alerting what he is hunting.

Description: Tying in with distinction which allows Gene to string together complex information regarding the sound around him, clarity is a discipline of the highest variety that enables Gene to vividly and accurately study and learn the intimate details about the things that he observes with his sight. These things are often minute details easily missed by the average or even practiced observer but not to Gene due to his instinctive attention to the world around him to include people, their mannerisms, hidden tales, quirks and other pertinent details. Furthermore, because of this superhuman like level of focus Gene may recognize the flaws in most transformation techniques provided his instinct is higher or equal to the technique being performed.

Description: One of Gene’s more lethal techniques, this maneuver relies heavily on Gene's speed in order to be performed correctly. Starting out, Gene will equip himself with a weapon (Kunai, Tanto, Sword , etc) and point it in the direction of his opponent. Then he will unleash a series of stabs in their direction for a total of Tai/5. If the opponent's [Speed+Int]/2 is not greater than Gene's [Speed + Tai]/2, then they will only perceive one of the stab attempts.

Emerging from the depths of the Marsh Country, Shinden is a style of Kenjutsu that focuses on one thing and one thing alone: overwhelming strength. While not completely forsaking flexibility, Shinden techniques are traditionally structured around downward slashes. The user lifts their weapon over their shoulder or above their head, both their strength and gravity bringing death crashing down onto their enemies. Due to this quirk unique to Shinden, while sufficiently performed with a katana, users of this style typically prefer heavier blades such as Nodachi, Odachi, and even Zanbatou. These large weapons further enhance the natural strengths the style's core mechanics provide, forgoing defense for brute strength and overwhelming power.

The use of larger swords and hafted weapons often makes close quarters maneuvering of the practitioner's weapon more difficult. By placing one hand on the pommel/butt of the hilt or low section of the weapon's haft, the user is able to more easily maneuver, twist, slide, and flip their weapon in close quarters to cover a wider range of offensive and defensive options, using the second hand to give full power to their attacks and techniques. This Discipline represents the practitioner's mastery of this basic concept, allowing them to lessen the impact of their weapon's natural blind spots and weaknesses.

After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.

A practitioner of Shinden must be able to control their weapon as easily as their own breath. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity to both change the orientation of their weapon to cover a different part of their body while spinning said weapon and to immediately change the direction said weapon is spinning without loss of defensive or offensive momentum.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuer
A simple setup technique, the practitioner quickly and continuously spins their weapon in their hands, capable of switching their weapon between each hand if they wish. This technique can serve as a defense against projectiles and attacks, but its primary purpose is to set up the practitioner for their next attack or technique. Any attack or technique used after the practitioner uses this technique will be instantly launched at the practitioner's maximum strength and speed.

One of Shinden's most basic offensive techniques, the practitioner raises their weapon over their head, using gravity and inertia to add momentum to their next attack. The practitioner then launches a ferocious two-handed swing in any single direction. The practitioner executes the cut in a circular motion, allowing them to quickly bring the weapon back to guard against a potential counterattack.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Designed to catch unsuspecting foes by surprise, the practitioner can use this technique either as an offensive technique or as a counterattack. Using part of their weapon's hilt or guard (i.e. the pommel/butt of a sword's hilt), the practitioner bashes the opponent's head or face with the handle of their weapon before coming down with a swing in the opposite direction of the first strike. Landing the first blow makes it more likely that the second attack will find purchase on the opening created by the first attack of this technique.

A simple yet devastating technique, the practitioner executes a powerful thrust towards the opponent. At the end of the thrust, or just as the blade is making contact with the opponent if it hits, the practitioner violently rotates the blade in any single direction and finishes the technique with a slash in the direction the sword was twisted. This additional rotation and slash at the end can further damage opponents or catch an opponent that has evaded the original thrust by strafing to either side, ducking, or jumping.

Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength, 8 Speed.
Using Shinden's superlative strength to bend the earth to their will, the practitioner spins their weapon and strikes the ground with a powerful blow, breaking the ground beneath them. Depending on the terrain, slabs of earth, rock, and stone will be uplifted where the practitioner struck, providing a temporary barrier against projectiles and attacks.

Shinden users understand that the size of their weapons cause naturally occurring blind spots and have trained to shore up those weaknesses in their defense. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to more finely control the natural blind spots of their weapons, passively strengthening their defenses and even allowing the practitioner to bait ignorant opponents into traps. This Discipline also allows the practitioner to easily wield their preferred two-handed weapon with one hand, if applicable.

Charging at the opponent, the practitioner grips the weapon's hilt or haft with one hand and rests their other hand on the pommel or butt of the haft or hilt with the other. As they drive their weapon forward in a thrust, the practitioner quickly torques the muscles in their forearm, wrist, and hand on the pommel/butt of the weapon and spin the weapon in their hand like a drill, greatly increasing the penetrative power of the thrust as they drive it into the opponent's guard and, hopefully, through their bodies.

Prerequisite(s): *[Shinden • Stream Splitting].
Taking to the sky, the practitioner jumps off of the ground, engaging their weapon in an ferocious spin. The practitioner can choose to complete this technique in one of three ways: a powerful diving swing or thrust, a somersaulting overhead strike, or a midair dodge by swinging the weapon in any single direction and allowing the momentum generated by the weight of the weapon and the swing to carry them in that direction. This technique is not as effective when performed with a normal sword or katana.

The practitioner will momentarily dig the tip of their weapon into the ground, quickly build a large amount of tension in their muscles. The practitioner will then release the tension into a wide, sweeping cut in any single direction, curving away from the ground to avoid lodging their weapon into the ground if choosing an overhead swing. The practitioner can immediately transition into a defensive weapon spin to shore up openings after the technique if they wish.

The practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush them opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

Momentarily torquing their muscles in their arms, the practitioner slams their weapon's blade or tip down into the ground, releasing the tension in a violent rotation as it plunges into the ground. Depending on the terrain, a doubled circular wall of large twisting rocks, stone, and bedrock will be uplifted and erupt from the ground, potentially striking opponents and providing a defense against attacks and projectiles.

This allows them to perform quicker, more complex movements, guards, and attacks with their weapon of choice without any penalty related to the size or weight of the weapon.

It also represents the toughened skin and bones the practitioner has developed throughout their training, lessening pain and preventing minor injuries that the practitioner would otherwise inflict on themselves using Shinden techniques.

This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush them opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can also incorporate quick thrusts to further pressure the opponent or counterattack, increasing the effectiveness of the defense the technique provides. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

Prerequisite(s): 35 Strength, 25 Speed, *[Shinden • Snapping Turtle].
One of Shinden’s most lethal techniques, the practitioner points their weapon toward the opponent, one hand at the base of the hilt or haft of the weapon and the other on the butt/pommel of the hilt or haft. Momentarily torquing their muscles, the practitioner violently spins the weapon in their grip. The strength of the rotation causes a vacuum to occur at the tip of the weapon, drawing any opponent in within a ten meter radius with a Strength equal to 1/2 the practitioner’s strength, rounded down. Should an opponent be close enough, the practitioner will charge and violently thrust their weapon in and through the opponent, the vacuum increasing the lethality of the thrust.

B-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 35 Strength, 25 Speed, *[Shinden • Stream Splitting].
Momentarily torquing the muscles in their arms, shoulders and back, the practitioner channels that force into a wide, powerful swing. This swing, aside from being plenty deadly in its own right, produces a twisting horizontal pressure wave measuring ten feet in diameter which travels at a speed and for a number of meters equal to the practitioner’s Strength and strikes with a force equal to 1/2 the practitioner’s Strength, rounded down. This twister is able to pick up water, dirt, fire, and small debris, potentially increasing the damage the pressure wave can cause.

Understanding that victory often requires momentary sacrifices and the strongest of wills, the practitioner has learned how to ignore all types of pain. This Discipline represents the practitioner's immunity to any staggering or interruption of their movements, defenses, attacks, or techniques that would normally be caused by pain, however severe. This does not offer any protection against the actual damage caused by attacks that successfully land on the practitioner, only their ability to immediately push through the pain through force of will and carry out their own attacks and counterattacks.

A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
An unusual technique within the Shinden style, this technique is meant to not slay an opponent, but to remove them from the battlefield instead. Torquing the muscles in their body, the practitioner will catch the opponent with a non-lethal thrust or swing, often striking the opponent with the flat of their blade if possible. Then, releasing the pent up force in their muscles into a violent spin, the practitioner rotates rapidly before launching the opponent up or away a great distance. Any opponent caught in this technique will be launched a number of meters equal to 20 x the practitioner's Strength stat in meters at a speed equal to the practitioner's Strength stat. If the practitioner uses this attack in a lethal manner, the maximum distance the opponent can be launched is equal to the practitioner's Strength stat. The opponent must have an average of their Taijutsu and Strength stats higher than the practitioner’s average of their Strength and Speed stats stats to resist the launching effect. The opponent can still potentially suffer injury from the strike itself and from any collision and fall damage they may suffer as they are flung through the air.

A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 30 Strength, 30 Speed.
Momentarily torquing every single muscle in their body, the practitioner generates an immense amount of force in their body. Then, after launching a preliminary attack, the pent up force is released, causing the practitioner to instantaneously launch a second attack instantaneously at their maximum speed, essentially landing two attacks in the same time frame it would normally take to launch one. In order to fully resist this attack, the opponent must have an average of their Taijutsu and Strength higher than the practitioner's average of Strength and Speed. Otherwise, this double-attack will rend through the opponent's defenses, possibly even breaking weapons and armor as the attack cleaves the opponent or runs them through.

D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
An illusionary jutsu that, after performing the necessary hand seals, causes the target to begin to smell rotting flesh and decaying bodies. The jutsu can cause nausea and vomiting from the target, depending on how sensitive their sense of smell is, and begins once the victim witnesses the user perform the hand seals. The smell of the dead can also cause some mental stress on the target. This genjutsu lasts for three (3) posts.

D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals, then within the next post, snap their fingers. Anyone who hears the snapping will hear an explosion in the distance behind them. This works as an effective distraction, or a scare tactic, if properly utilized.

Prerequisites: Sound initiator
Description: By uttering the phrase "You should think about the path" after performing hand seals, Gene is able to influence whomever is afflicted by making them second guess their own intensions if they hear the trigger words. For the next 3 posts those affected will think twice about doing or saying something harmful to the jutsu castor, this technique works as a useful and subtle way to buy time as it spurs the afflicted to second guess themselves for briefly.
