Inuzuka
General Information Type: Clan
Village: [Konohagakure No Sato]
Size: Small (15+ Families)
Traits:
  • Dark thick hair
  • Naturally sharpened Teeth
  • Clan symbol on their cheeks, as a facepaint or marking
  • Feral Eyes - Black slitted pupil against a white eye
Traditions:
Rite of PassageHunt of the White Stag
Around the age of 10, just prior to enrollment in the academy, an Inuzuka clan member must go through their Rite of Passage. At this stage of their lives they are escorted by an older member of their own clan (Chunin or higher) and led into the forest on the edge of Konoha and taken to meet with the family of canines that is known to be the source of all clan ninken. From here, whether it take a day or a week, they will live among the canines and they will interact with the pups. Not only will the shinobi choose the ninken, but the ninken must choose the shinobi. The pair are inseparable from here, they are blood born kin as far as they are concerned. This tradition is as old as the clan’s own blood, and cannot be missed out. It is such an important mark in an Inuzuka’s life that it should be mentioned in the history of every member. In the legends of the clan itself it is said that the earliest member once hunted the mythical beast known only as the White Stag. Upon capturing it the man was given a chance to make any wish he wanted, to ask for what he desired most and if he released the Stag he would receive it. He wished, as a hunter of beasts great and small, for the ability to hunt as well as the beasts of the earth, to hunt as well as the wolves of that forest. His wish was granted and he became the first Inuzuka, meeting his own Ninken only days later, a brother to himself who hunted alongside him for the rest of his days. In memory of this, the members of the Inuzuka Clan go out into the forests of Konoha once a year, every member of shinobi rank that is, and they ‘hunt the White Stag’. As there is no White Stag this typically turns into a week in the forest of Konoha hunting beasts and living off the land itself, living like wild animals if you will. It’s the highlight of the year for any member of the clan, considered to be a time when members once more ‘become one with their inner beast’.
Influence: The Inuzuka has very little political influence in the village. Being both the youngest of the clans and often seen as ‘wild beasts’ due to their nature and bond with the canine, it is very rare for an Inuzuka to climb the political ranks of the village.
History According to their own legends, the Inuzuka were born of the wish of a single hunter. He spent months hunting a legendary beast known as a White Stag, and when he finally caught it, the beast made him a deal. If the hunter released him, the Stag would grant him a single wish. Complying with the request, the hunter wished for the strength and ability to hunt like the beasts of the forest, like the wolves. His wish granted, the man not only went through physical changes, he also made friends with a canine who would become like a blood brother to him, hunting at his side for all his days. This legend is the origin story of the Inuzuka, this man the founder.

Since this time the Inuzuka have thrived, and not just in Konoha. Before they came to the village they were considered to be closer to wild animals than humans, running with canines both of wolf and dog kind all their days. They hunted much like their kin and were experts in what they did. It was the Senju who first came upon them, a single Senju in fact who came to get to know the Inuzuka. He spent many days among them, learning of them and their ways, fascinated by their life in the wild and their communication with the canine kind. He was the first to gain their trust, and even taught them uses of chakra, to further their own abilities and even spoke to them of Konoha.

It took years, but over time the Clan became interested in Konoha itself, and with the aid of the Senju they moved there, set up their own compound and integrated into a “normal” life. They still have their traditions and maintain their wildness, but they have come to love life in the village and come to adhere to the loyalties of Konoha and the Will of Fire.

In many ways the Inuzuka have become beloved children of Konoha, their wild nature a vital part of the village and it’s ties to the earth and nature, a tie to the wildest of beings, just like the Senju are the tie to the most serene and yet unpredictable aspects of nature itself.

The family from which their ninken are born have relocated to the forests on the outskirts of Konoha, their masses made up of various kinds and breeds of dogs. It is from this family only that ninken are chosen for the shinobi.
Shinobi Information Definitions:
Ninken:
A Ninken is a canine (dog family) companion to which an Inuzuka has formed a bond. They are ‘kin’ in the sense that they are treated as a member of the family, brother or sister to the Inuzuka member they have bonded with. They are gained by a member of the Inuzuka Clan just prior to their enrollment in the academy during their Rite of Passage, described above in Traditions. Many of these companions grow to be much larger than the average dog and all are taken from a large family that roams the Konoha forests.
Requirements:
  • Clan Familiars must have average strength and speed for their rank.

Clan Member Ninjutsu
D Rank ~The Sleuth
D Rank Ninjutsu
Dogs are known to be excellent trackers, and the Inuzuka do everything they can to compete with their familiars. In an attempt to mimic their ninken, the Inuzuka member will perform a series of hand seals before channeling chakra to their nose, enhancing their sense of smell. While this isn’t very effective at picking out certain smells, if the user has been in close contact with someone, or has one of their possessions on hand, they will be able to more accurately pinpoint the source of scents that are less than eight posts old as long as aforementioned source is still within one mile of where the scent was originally picked up.

~Growl
D Rank Ninjutsu
After completing the required handseals, the user of this technique will begin to focus chakra into his/her lungs. After the chakra has built up, the user will begin to growl lowly, subsequently releasing the chakra out of his/her lungs. The chakra will spread throughout the user's body and increase his/her strength by 3 at the cost of -3 control. This technique lasts for three posts.

~Man-Beast Form
D Rank Ninjutsu
A technique similar in concept to the ~Beast-Man Form, ~Man-Beast Form grants the opposite effects. After completing the proper handseals, the user of this jutsu will take the form of his/her canine familiar. While allowing for unique combination assaults, the user is unable to perform handseals, and as such, only taijutsu can be utilized by the user and his/her familiar. This technique lasts for three posts.

~Whistle
D Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the needed handseals, the user will begin to focus chakra into his/her lungs to prepare a high-pitched whistle. The user will then place a hand to his/her mouth and begin to release the chakra. Although no sound will be heard to other humans in the area, the whistle emits a higher pitched frequency that can be heard by the canine familiars, much like a dog whistle. This technique works as long as the familiar is in a 30 meter radius of the user. It is mainly used to call familiars to the user's location or to direct strategies.
C Rank~Howl
C Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: ~Growl
After completing the required handseals, the user of this technique will begin to focus chakra into his/her lungs. After the chakra has built up for one post, the user will expel a loud howl, subsequently releasing the chakra out of his/her lungs. The chakra will spread throughout the user's body and increase his/her strength by 3 while lowering their control by 3. This technique lasts for five posts.

~ Four-Legged Technique
C Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the necessary handseals, the user of this jutsu will take on a more canine-like appearance. When activated, the user's pupils will become nothing more than slivers, nails will become more claw-like, and s/he will travel on all fours. This partial transformation grants the user +6 speed and increased maneuverability, but lowers his/her control (-6) for five (5) posts.

~Beast Change of Body Stance Technique
C Rank Ninjutsu
A variation of the Kawarimi no Jutsu, this technique allows the user to switch positions with his/her clan familiar. This can be done as long as the familiar is within 20 meters of the user and not caught in a genjutsu. This jutsu counts as one of the two teleports a character is allowed per thread
B Rank ~Double-Headed Wolf
B Rank Ninjutsu
This combination technique fuses the clan member and familiar together to create a large, double-headed wolf being (5 meters tall, 8 meters long). On top of granting the Inuzuka +5 speed and +4 Strength at the cost of -5 control and -4 ninjutsu, it also allows the Inuzuka member to make use of the Dual Wolf Fang. Lasts for 5 posts.
Ninken Ninjutsu D Rank ~Corrode
D Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: ~Dynamic Marking, Permission from the target
A technique to be used in conjunction with the ~Dynamic Marking technique. By imbuing its urine with chakra, the natural corrosive power of the canine's urine is enhanced. If this chakra-enhanced urine makes contact with skin, it will create a burning sensation that leaves the area red and sore. Additionally, metals such as copper will corrode within three posts of being in contact with the urine's corrosive properties. This technique remains active for three posts or until ~Dynamic Marking is used.

~ Unclean
D Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: ~Dynamic Marking, Permission from the target
A technique to be used in conjunction with the ~Dynamic Marking technique. After the clan familiar has its urine imbued with chakra, the liquid will gain a protective coating when it is applied to an object or person. The chakra properties of the coating create a scent barrier that prevents regular liquid from penetrating it to wash it away, and as such, only Suiton jutsu can remove the urine before the end of three posts.

~Growl
D Rank Ninjutsu
After the ninken's chakra is shaped, it will then be focused into the familiar's lungs. After the chakra has built up for one (1) post, the ninken will begin to growl lowly, subsequently releasing the chakra out of its lungs. The chakra will spread throughout the canine's body and increase it's strength by 3 at the cost of -3 control. This technique lasts for three posts.
C Rank ~Nechinechi
C Rank Ninjutsu
Being as slobbery as some dogs are, this technique is used to turn all of that saliva into a strong adhesive. When in close range, the canine familiar will attempt to lick and drool on the opponent. In areas where their saliva has made contact, things that touch or are touched by it will be forcefully stuck to it for three posts. This could mean the target's arm sticking to their torso, or their hand sticking to a weapon. This saliva can be washed off with water or Suiton jutsu, and opponents with a strength of 10 or more can break out of this technique.

~Howl
C Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: ~Growl
After the ninken's chakra is shaped, it will then be focused into the clan familiar's lungs. After the chakra has built up for one (1) post, the familiar will expel a loud howl, subsequently releasing the chakra out of its lungs. The chakra will spread throughout the canine's body and increase its strength by 6 at the cost of -6 control. This technique lasts for three posts.

~Beast-Man Form
C Rank Ninjutsu
A staple of the Inuzuka fighting style, the Beast-Man Form technique is utilized by the Ninken. By working in conjunction with its ninja companion, the canine familiar will transform itself into a copy of the clan member. This technique essentially turns the ninken into a clone temporarily, allowing it to perform the Taijutsu techniques of their Inuzuka partner.
B Rank ~Shadow Beast-Man Form
B Rank Ninjutsu
Taking the Beast Man Form jutsu a step farther, the Shadow Beast-Man Form technique is utilized by the Ninken. After their Inuzuka partner has completed the hand seals, the Ninken will sacrifice half of it's stamina to become an exact copy of their Inuzuka partner, copying all of their stats save for their stamina. In this form, the Ninken is capable of performing any techniques the Inuzuka partner knows, but a series of solid hits will cause the Ninken to pop out of this form.
Ninken Taijutsu D Rank ~The Sleuth
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Using this technique and the natural scent capabilities of the canine breed, the Inuzuka familiar will be able to more accurately pinpoint the source of scents that are less than eight posts old as long as aforementioned source is still within one mile of where the scent was originally picked up. This technique lasts for four posts.

Jūjin Style Taijutsu
Style Information:
Jūjin Style
The taijutsu style most commonly used by the Inuzuka house, the high speed taijutsu style is designed to quickly assault and overwhelm the opponent with heavy handed and sharp attacks, including scratching, biting, tearing off flesh, and grabbing. While some view it as a weakness, taijutsu specialists admire the style for it’s ability to do damage without the use of a weapon.
These techniques may be used by either the Clan Member or Ninken.
Requires [Upper Body] and [Acrobatics] Concentrations for Clan Member, [Ninken] and [Acrobatics] Concentrations for Ninken companions
Ninken:
The [Ninken] Taijutsu concentration represents the training required for an Inuzuka’s ninken companion to be able to perform Jujin techniques. This training allows them to use their mouth and claws to attack their foes, similar to the Upper Body Concentration allowing the clan member to bite and claw at their enemies.

D Rank ~Double Tackle
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: Both the clan member and the companion must have this technique
A combination technique utilized by members of the Inuzuka clan, the user will attempt to get on one side of the opponent as his/her familiar positions itself on the other side. Once in position, the user will charge and do a flying tackle at the opponent, aiming for the torso and head region. While this is going on, the Ninken will attempt to take out the target's legs by charging into them. If both the clan member and his/her familiar are successful, the opponent could be knocked over and possibly made vulnerable. This technique can be done on its own by either the ninken or the clan member, but isn't nearly as effective.

~Catch
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Another instance of learning from their canine companions, the Inuzuka have adopted this method of catching and holding objects thrown at them. Taking advantage of his/her speed and strong teeth, the user is able to catch projectiles like kunai and other miscellanea in his/her mouth. The user's speed must be at least equal to the strength of the opponent in order to catch the thrown object, otherwise it will be thrown faster than the clan member can intercept it. This technique must still be used with caution, as catching dangerous items with one's mouth can prove to be disastrous if done incorrectly.

~Latch Onto
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Utilizing its teeth and strength, the clan member or familiar will attempt to latch onto the opponent's body with their mouth. From this position, the canine or Inuzuka will do whatever possible to resist being removed. In order to throw off the ninken or clan member, the target must have a strength higher than their strength.

~Splash of Mud
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
While simple, this technique can be insanely frustrating for an opponent on open ground with no cover. When attacked from behind, the clan member or ninken will bend over and begin scooping chunks of earth to literally barrage their opponent with mud and dirt. Depending on the strength of the user, these clods can cause serious damage, especially in rocky terrain. This technique’s range depends on the strength of the user as these rocks are considered throwing weapons for the purposes of distance.

~Mount
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Modeled after a staple dog fighting technique, the user will jump on the target from behind, digging their teeth into their target's neck in the process. The combined weight of the user, and the pain from the bite of the neck is usually enough to knock the target down to the ground.

~Arm Distance
D Rank Taijutsu Discipline
A passive technique, whenever the user is rebounding from an attack, they'll always jump away with enough distance that their opponent has to either follow them or attack preemptively if they wish to attack them. This allows the clan member or familiar to jump out of harm’s way and then jump right back in without much hesitation.

~Dynamic Marking
D Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: Permission from the target
The ~Dynamic Marking Technique requires the user to first release a stream of urine onto the target. This urine is quite sticky and will quickly soak into clothing and similar fabrics. After it has been applied to the target, both the ninken and its partner are able to utilize their sense of smell in order to locate their target as long as they remain within an 80 meter radius of the clan member and familiar. The urine can be washed off with water and Suiton jutsu, but otherwise remains active until cleaned.
C Rank ~Piercing Fang
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: ~ Four-Legged Technique must be active.
The basis for the Beast-Man form style of combat, this attack is performed by an individual clan member. By spinning rapidly, the user turns into a whirling mass before launching themselves at his/her target. By putting their full body into the attack, the clan member will hit an opponent or nearby object at full strength with their claws, easily rending flesh from bone.

~Biting Defense Technique
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The way of the ninja is deception, but many shinobi take it for granted that in a taijutsu battle, their opponent will just be fighting with his arms and legs. That’s why many opponents may be caught off guard when Inuzuka clan members readily put their abnormally strong teeth to work, biting down on exposed areas of their opponent during combat, especially the jugular. Users with high enough strength and taijutsu are even able to stop blows by biting down on the opponent's arm or leg before counterattacking with their unoccupied hands and feet.

~Clinch
C Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Close up to their target, the clan member/familiar will wrap their arms around the targets neck, and attempt to bite the targets face (typically their nose), this can be very traumatic to their target and can be used to stop them from getting away.
B Rank ~Dual Piercing Fang
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: Both the clan member and the companion must have this technique and the ~Piercing Fang technique in order to use it.
A combination technique utilized by the Inuzuka clan members and familiars, this portion is performed by the clan member and their ninken simultaneously. By spinning rapidly, clan members turn into a whirling mass before launching themselves at their target. Using a full body attack allows them to hit an opponent or nearby object at full strength when they connect with their claws. In conjunction with the familiar's portion of this technique, it becomes extremely dangerous and can cover large areas with continuous assaults.

~Dual Wolf Fang
B Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: ~Double-Headed Wolf must be active.
This technique requires the clan member and clan familiar to be combined in the Double-Headed Wolf technique. Not unlike the Piercing Fang technique, the large creature will begin to spin rapidly, turning itself into a whirling mass. Given the size of the Double-Headed wolf, the size of the technique is much larger, and the impact is much more destructive when it barrels into its surroundings.
