Type: Family
Village: Konohagakure no Sato
Size: Small
Traits: Members of the Aburame family usually have black or brown hair and tend to have lighter shades of skin due to their typical choice of clothing; baggy and in layers that covers almost all of their skin. Aburame members are never seen without some form of tinted glasses.
Traditions:
Tradition:

The Beetle Spring is a special event in which is the time of year the Kikaichu give birth to a whole new generation of beetles, similar to how the Aburame's children become of age to join the academy. These two events also result in the pairing of an Aburame child with their Kikaichu swarm. It is typically left up to the child to choose their Kikaichu swarm, however it is not unheard of the Kikaichu to pick the child. This results in the life long parasitic bond between the two as it allows them to grow up together. The Beetle Spring typically involves the entirety of the clan as they culminate to celebrate a young Aburame finally coming into the ninja world. The festival typically involves eating of vegetables, and gifts given to the younger shinobi. As well as the younger Aburame picking someone older among the clan to help them train their Kikaichu.
Influence: The Aburame hold a noble influence on the village, being held in regards as some of the most talented shinobi, as well as masters of chakra control. They typically stand out of village affairs, but hold a heavy influence on the sensor shinobi division. However it is not unusual for them to hold village official positions.
The Aburame family is a historic and noble house of Konoha known for their powerful affinity in controlling swarms of insects and their uniquely bred species.

The Aburame family itself is rumoured to have started in Fire Country in the early years of shinobi, barely predating the founding of Konoha itself. It is said that the first Aburame was a simple man who had given up being a shinobi to become a farmer. One summer, his crops had been ravaged by beetles and in desperation to save what crops he had left he offered up his chakra to the beetles. The beetles had become attached to his chakra and grew dependent on it. Eventually a parasitic bond was formed and in return for his chakra, the farmer's beetles would kill other bugs that endangered his crops.

In Konoha history the Aburame clan has played several major roles. Due to their unique ability to control insects at will their skills in tracking and espionage are second to none, when it comes to stealth few are better fitted for the job.

Their most famous historical moment in Konoha history, however, was during Iwa's attempt at destroying Konoha hundreds of years ago. The Kamizuru clan, a clan that also had the ability to manipulate insects (bees specifically), took the forefront of the invasion force. Before they could reach Konoha the Aburame clan intercepted them and ultimately fought them off. The Kamizuru clan was nearly wiped out of existence by the much smaller Aburame clan, and this upset played a key role in Konoha's overall victory and helped them win the war.

In more contemporary times the Aburame clan has remained small but continued to put out high level shinobi that can be found in a variety of positions throughout Konoha.

Definitions:
Swarm/Specialized 9th Stat:
The insects employed by the Aburame family are each an individual swarm (meaning each takes it's own ability slot) and each has it's own unique skill. These swarms follow the rules found here.

Swarms take up 1 companion slot. An ability can be taken in order to have more swarms found here.

In the same location you can also learn about the Specialized Stat Aburame are required to take, Sync, which essentially decides the strength of your swarm and what level swarm you are capable of using.
Common Aburame Mushi Breeds:
Swarms are not unique to the Aburame family, however the insects used by the Aburame are. Over hundreds of generations and thousands of insect lifespans, the Aburame have evolved three breeds of insects which are commonly found within the family. These breeds are:
 • Kikaichū - Parasitic Destruction Insect
 • Shijikonchū - Support Agent Insect
 • Bikōchū - Minute Tracking Insect
Mutated Breeds:
Due to mass amounts of chakra and an extremely short life cycle, The Aburame Mushi are known to on occasion undergo mutations that give the bugs a unique set of abilities. These mutated species still bare the same structural quality as the original mushi with some possible minor changes. These mutated mushi have certain rules applied to their creation:
 • The abilities must have some form of relationship with the original mushi breed. They cannot be an entirely different type of bug.
 • Genin cannot have mutated bugs.
KikaichūShow
Parasitic Destruction
The Kikaichū are a unique species of bugs who's diet partially consists of chakra. Because of this, the host of a kikaichū swarm can command their swarm to devour the chakra of others. Kikaichū can drain chakra based on their rank at the following rates:
 • D-rank: 1 Chakra Pool per two posts.
 • C-rank: 2 Chakra Pool per two posts.
 • B-rank: 2 Chakra Pool per post.
 • A-rank: 3 Chakra Pool per post.
 • S-rank: 5 Chakra Pool per post.
For balance purposes, this rate is fixed regardless of how many bugs are on a target, and there needs to be more than few bugs on a target. (Essentially, three bugs, which would be relatively hard to notice, cannot be hidden on a target and drain chakra.)

ShijikonchūShow
Support Agent
The Shijikonchū are a more neutral larvae-form insect that were bred for use by support ninja. Utilizing their parasitic bond, the Shijikonchū become a conduit for the hosts chakra allowing the host to channel jutsu such as Iijutsu through the shijikonchū, providing ranged support for their comrades. Based on the rank of the swarm has range limitations:
 • D-rank: 10 meters.
 • C-rank: 25 meters.
 • B-rank: 40 meters.
 • A-rank: 65 meters.
 • S-rank: 80 meters.
This follows the normal rules of channeling, as it is essentially channeling using the user's shijikonchū as a medium.

BikōchūShow
Minute Tracking
The Bikōchū originate from a mutated breed of kikaichū that was extra sensitive to the chakra the desire to eat. Overtime, due to over breeding, the chakra sensitivity became increasingly stronger while the chakra eating abilities of the kikaichū diminished. This left the bikōchū breed with a strong affinity for sensing, seeking, and tracking chakra. The range in which their senses are accurate are based on their rank:
 • D-rank: 10 meters.
 • C-rank: 25 meters.
 • B-rank: 50 meters.
 • A-rank: 80 meters.
 • S-rank: 100 meters.

Concentration
Grand Coordination
Grand Coordination is an umbrella ninpou style developed by the Aburame family for use with their swarms. It techniques grant greater utility and the ability to manipulate swarms at a more advanced level.
Grand CoordinationShow
D-rank Ninjutsu (5):
~Mushi Sight
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After the appropriate hand seals, the Aburame shuts one eye, transferring it's sight to one of their mushi. The view from this mushi allows for the discerning size, shape, distance, and minor details, lacking the ability to examine intricate details, such as text in a book. The mushi can travel up to a mile away before the link between the Aburame is broken and the technique lasts as long as the Aburame keeps their eye closed for a maximum of six posts.

~Mushi Bullet
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After the appropriate hand seals, the Aburame fires off a 2 inch diameter clump of insects at a strength of [Control] and speed of [Control] up to 10 meters away before dispersing. Upon impact, they spread over an area of 5 inches.

~Remote Detonators
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After the appropriate hand seals, the Aburame forms a 1 inch diameter ball of mushi, which they can then toss at an opponent, the ball sticking to them at a strength of [Control]. Anytime within the next three posts, kai can be used to cause the bugs to spread out at a force equal to [Control] with a range of 10 meters. This explosion does not kill the mushi as the main danger comes from the force of the mushi's mandibles. This jutsu can help the user spread out the mushi and attach them to a target quickly as well.

~Paste
D-Rank Ninjutsu
The Aburame will command mushi within 10 meters to form a shape that is under 1 meter in diameter with a speed of [Control]. After, they will perform a set of hand seals that locks the mushi together and reinforces them with a layer of chakra armor that has a strength of [Control].

~Pheromone Tracker
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
The Aburame will command a female mushi to attach itself to a designated target and hide itself using its small form and silent movement. After attaching itself, the mushi will then release an abnormal amount of pheromones. The male mushi of that breed can then trace the pheromone trail, allowing the Aburame to effectively track the marked target. The males can only track the female within a three mile radius, and after five posts, the female mushi does not have the chakra to produce excess pheromones and tracking is reduced to 1/2 mile.
C-rank Ninjutsu (5):
~Mushi Torrent
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After the appropriate hand seals, the Aburame holds the last seal before firing off a 2 inch diameter stream of insects in a straight line up to 25 meters away. The insects fly forth at a strength and speed equal to the users [Control] and upon impact use their mandibles to claw and tear at the target. This can be held for a maximum of two posts.

~Glue
C-Rank Ninjutsu
The Aburame will command mushi within 25 meters to form a shape that is under 5x5x5 meters with a speed of [Control]. After, they will perform a set of hand seals that locks the mushi together and reinforces them with a layer of chakra armor that has a strength of [Control].

~Breeder
C-Rank Ninjutsu
By channeling their chakra into their swarm and holding the final seal, the Aburame raises the pheromones of one of their swarms to unnatural levels, causing them to rapidly breed, creating larvae by the end of the post. If the Aburame continues to channel chakra into their swarm for another post, the larvae will rapidly hatch and grow into adult mushi, replenishing the ranks of the swarm.

~Mushi Clone
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After the appropriate hand seals, the Aburame member's mushi are gathered into one place and pattern themselves after the user or anyone else they choose. The technique is elaborate enough to be mistaken for the original, and therefore may be used as a decoy or as part of a diversionary tactic. The clone replicates the stats of the user, and lasts for [Control]/5 posts. When the clone is destroyed or dissipates, the clone falls apart into Mushi that fly back into the swarm.

~Sticky Trap
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After the proper hand seals the Aburame will have the mushi crawl across their skin to form a layer of mushi. At first this seems like armor however when the opponent makes physical contact with the Aburame, the mushi will immediately attach to the opponent and begin to claw and tear causing lacerations. The mushi clings with [Control] strength to the opponent.
B-rank Ninjutsu (3):
~Mushi Cyclone
B-Rank Ninjutsu
After the proper hand seals, the Aburame will point at a known target within 40 meters, causing their swarm to shoot off at the target at a speed of [Control] and surround them, flying around them in a densely packed flurry. The mushi will however show restraint, only circling the target, forming a wall of mushi with a strength of [Control]. In the case that the target attempts to escape and cannot break the wall, they will be cut up and hurt by the mushi as they whiz by.

~Krazy Glue
B-Rank Ninjutsu
After an Aburame's mushi within 40 meters forms a shape that is under 15x15x15 meters, they will perform a set of hand seals, locking the mushi together and reinforcing them with a layer of chakra armor at a speed of [Control] that has [Control] strength. Lasts for four posts or unless canceled by the Aburame.

~Slipstream Bullet
B-Rank Ninjutsu
As a single mushi climbs atop the Aburame's finger they will channel chakra into them before sending them rocketing off at a speed of 20 towards a target that hits with 20 strength. The mushi will lose speed and force after 20 meters when the chakra is used up.
A-rank Ninjutsu (3):
~Mushi Blender
A-Rank Ninjutsu
Assuming the Aburame's swarm has already surrounded a target and is within 65 meters, the Aburame will perform a set of hand seals, causing his swarm to go into a frenzy and put out their sharp mandibles before flying at and penetrating through whatever target is in their center at a speed of [Control] and strength of [Control].

~Mushi Tunnel
A-Rank Ninjutsu
The Aburame places both palms on the ground as the swarm begins to tunnel underground at a speed of [Control] making their way to their target. These tunnels are roughly 3 inches in diameter and have a range equal to 65 meters. As long as the Aburame keeps their palms to the ground they are able to maintain the swarm underground, and control their movement. When the swarm is at a location the Aburame wants them to burst forth from, they will burst from the ground at a strength of [Control] slicing and penetrating with their mandibles.

~Mushi Bullet Advanced
A-Rank Ninjutsu
After the proper hand seals the Aburame has three mushi crawl to the tip of their pointer finger as they charge them with extra chakra and shoot the three off combined together. This forms a 1 inch bullet that is shot off at a speed of [Control] and at a strength of [Control] with a range of 65 meters. The bullet has the potential to pierce a target as the mushi positions themselves so their mandibles strike first tunneling their way into the opponent and from there being able to further be controlled by the user.
S-rank Ninjutsu (2):
~Mosquito Destruction
S-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 45 Sync
The Aburame will form the necessary hand seals before coating their hands with mushi. This coating will last for 5 posts. If the user makes contact with the opponent the mushi will hop over to the opponent clinging with a strength equal to the Aburame's [Control] and begin tunneling into the opponent's arteries and veins. They will begin to slice up the opponents blood stream causing multiple instances of internal bleeding resulting in the opponent bleed out quickly. The rate the opponent bleeds out is dependent on their stamina stat as detailed in this table.
 • 1-15 Endurance: Death within the 1st post
 • 16-20 Endurance: Death within the 2nd post
 • 21-25 Endurance: Death within the 3rd post
 • 26-35 Endurance: Death within the 4th post
 • 36+ Endurance: Death within the 5th post
~Feed My Darlings
S-Rank Ninjutsu
Pre-Requisite: 50 Sync
By grabbing onto an opponent the Aburame will hold them, and have their mushi crawl onto the target as they begin to eat away. The mushi will cling to the target with a strength stat equal to the Aburame's [Control]. The mushi will eat away at a progress of posts:
 • 1st Post: The mushi will eat away at the top layers of skin which will cause deep lacerations and profuse bleeding. Bandaging the wounds will not completely stop the bleeding and iijutsu will be needed to heal the wounds.
 • 2nd Post: The mushi will begin to eat at the muscles underneath the skin, aiming to sever the opponent's ability to use their limbs. They will also focus on attacking the opponent's veins which causes even more intense bleeding. Iijutsu is the only way to heal the wounds at this point.
 • 3rd Post: The mushi begins to finish the muscle system off and then switch to the bones of the opponent as they continue eating away. This can result in loss of limbs, as well as the rupturing of internal organs as the mushi moves throughout the body. For those with a stamina stat of less than 35 it means certain death. Only the best iijutsu users can stave death off at this rate.
 • 4th Post: The fourth post the mushi will have eaten everything to the bone resulting in utter death for the opponent.
