[Nindo]"Smile."

General Information Age: 13
Gender: Male
Height: 148 cm
Weight: 42 kg
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Inari has vulpine features. Angular cheeks, eyes, and ears, with a prominent nose and thin eyebrows. He has dark brown, almost black hair and matching eyes. With prominent freckles and his modest height, he looks younger than he is.
  • Body: He’s short for his age. Considering the height of his father, it’s not likely he’s going to get much bigger. He’s naturally scrawny and has failed to put on the firm muscle even a genin is expected to sport.
  • Notable Features:When he smiles, his mouth stretches wide and it gives the impression that his eyes are closed, making him resemble a fox.
Clothing/Accessories: Inari favors loose clothing, with a fondness for the color red. He always wears a magatama necklace under his shirt.

Personality:
  • General: Warm. Inari is a gentle individual who tries his hardest to smile at others. However, he suffers from what might be clinical depression, which gives him the urge to isolate himself and stymies his attempts at growth. He’s also a stubborn ass who sometimes digs his heels in just because someone told him otherwise. This last point may be the only reason he’s still a shinobi.
  • Hopes/Dreams: To be called a hero.
  • Fears: Failure. Inari has shown himself to be a sub-par shinobi and dreads the thought of being forced to resign and take up a mundane life. He makes unwise decisions in pursuit of improvement.
  • Combat Mentality: Inari has yet to win a single sparring match. Once he finds a strategy that works, he'll write it down.

Katon:
Katon Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Katon, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Katon affinity. Katon has a passive ignition effect.
Passive (Ingition)Show
Katon's effect is ignition, which means that all katon jutsu, regardless of effect, start and spread fire from their source. Once a jutsu has been performed, the fire from the jutsu spreads at 1/3rd the speed of the technique, rounded down. That means a C-rank katon jutsu that moves at 13 speed would create subsequent fires that spread at 4 speed. These secondary fires require flammable material to continuously spread, otherwise they will burn out on their own.

Additionally, the strength of burns on organic material from katon jutsu is determined by the ninjutsu stat requirement.
  • 1-10 Ninjutsu Requirement : 1st Degree Burns
  • 11-20 Ninjutsu Requirement: Second Degree Burns
  • 21-35 Ninjutsu Requirement: Third Degree Burns
  • 36+ Ninjutsu Requirement: Fourth Degree Burns

[Genjutsu • Kyousou no Jutsu (Unlucky Horoscope Technique)]
B-Ranked Status Genjutsu. Sight-initiated, channeled
This genjutsu is triggered by the sight of the particular shade vermillion (the color of a torii gate). Should the user see this color, their memories of hand seals will change slightly. They will remember all hand seals to have their right hand held in a fist. While this works for the Dog seal, all others are effectively ruined. This effect lasts for seven posts.

[Genjutsu • Monogatari no Jutsu (Fairy Tale Technique)]
B-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu. Sound-initiated
The user forms a series of hand seals. This genjutsu is triggered by the sound of the user’s voice. It can affect every sense, but creates only small illusions which are obviously false, affecting an area roughly two meters in diameter from the speaker's center mass. Ethereal shapes, minor sounds, smells, tastes, and touches. The illusions are crafted by the user’s words, augmenting storytelling. These illusions persist while the user talks. They cannot fool anyone in combat.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Inari had nothing to complain about. The Hinomaru clan was a modest family, its members part of no ninja lineage. Instead, the Hinomaru care for their family shrine which draws a small degree of worship in Konoha, or serve whatever jobs they can get. Inari was not rich, but his family provided for him, his sibling, and cousins as they could.

However, academy life was difficult for the boy. While gentle toward animals, Inari was closed off from and frustrated by his peers. He would frequently get into arguments and occasionally fights. His shinobi skills were poor, leading to him invariably losing any such scuffles, growing only more angry and frustrated. In his later years, he got in trouble for more and more extreme behavior, including waving around a kunai and, once, biting a classmate. He only narrowly avoided expulsion.

These difficulties came to a head at his first graduation exam. Inari’s performance as a shinobi had always been below-average, and during his examinations, he performed poorly and grew increasingly agitated. When it came time for his sparring demonstration, his frustration got out of hand, and he attacked so angrily his Chuunin instructor accidentally broke the cadet’s leg defending himself. Inari failed and was slated for another year of training.

The stymied boy had a lot of time to reflect during his recovery. Thankfully, his maternal grandfather spent much of that time with the boy, trying to tend to Inari’s physical and mental wounds. Somewhere in the months of recovery and rehabilitation, a change came over him. While Inari’s moodiness and trouble socializing did not go away, he found enough level ground to stand on. He returned to the academy a more composed, thoughtful boy, and while his performance was still average at best, he passed his exams, albeit at the bottom of his class.
