Hyuuga, Taku
General Information Age: 22
Gender: Male
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 107lbs
Physical Features:
- Face/head: Taku has a mop of dark brown hair atop his head. While most in the clan have it pulled back to show off their proud white irises, Taku allows his to fall forward, long bangs covering his face thus obscuring his own pale eyes. Of course when on missions or practicing, he does pull it back, but it is not how he would prefer to have it.
- Body: Noticeably short for his age and active, Taku has no small amount of scars from his lifestyle. None of them are any sort of spectacular and most are covered by his clothes. His normally olive skin is a bit paler than most having spent a majority of his youth away from the sun.
- Notable Features:Pale white eyes of the Hyuuga clan
Other equipment includes a small hip pouch which houses his shuriken.
Personality:
- General: Taku is your classic type b personality. He’s soft spoken, slow to act on his anger and very much a wallflower at social events. However, underneath these passive traits is a iron foundation of will and resolve. Taku is they type to endure a hard situation, believing that he can outlast almost anything that life can throw his way. This stubbornness is something that he prides himself on, and in a way, can be viewed as arrogance.
- Hopes/Dreams: To bring honor to his clan even without the Byakugan.
- Fears: Shaming his family, passing his illness onto his little sister.
- Combat Mentality:Using the Toryu style to engage his targets at close range, he intends confuse and overwhelm in order to bring the fight to a swift end. His genjutsu and ninjutsu are both used as support for close quarters combat. Due to his poor stamina, he knows that he is at a disadvantage in prolonged combat, so he goes full throttle from the get go.

*Fuuton • Vortex Screw
D-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After doing the needed hand seals, the user creates a small vortex of Fuuton chakra around a projectile in their hand that spins with a strength of 5. This causes the projectile to corkscrew through the air, allowing it to travel an extra 10m and applying the Fuuton passive when thrown. This doesn't make the projectile any faster, only increases its range and ability to cut.
*Fuuton • Wind Bullet
D-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After performing the required hand seals, the user expels a basket ball sized ball of wind from their mouth. This ball of wind travels up to 20m at 5 speed, and explodes with the strength of a single explosive tag on contact with solid matter or at the end of its range.

ToryuShow
Toryu Kenjutsu:*[Toryu • Close Quarters]Toryu Kenjutsu is a sword style originating from the Land of Pebbles that focuses on not just performing kenjutsu but also weaving close quarters style taijutsu into the bladework. Toryu's specialty is not only learning to capably slash a sword with one hand but also learning to use the hands, joints, legs and even the head to make frighteningly dangerous close quarters fighters. An inelegant style, it is commonly associated with the more 'rough' samurai but in truth it's reliance on two opposing impulses and control of the body makes it one of the more difficult Kenjutsu styles to learn. While usable with most blades, experienced fighters often prefer wakizashi, ninjato and even tanto daggers instead of katana for increased mobility.
- Requires: [Upper Body], [Sword] Concentrations
D- Ranked Taijutsu Stance
Prerequisite: 5 Taijutsu
The signature stance of the style, Close Quarters teaches users of this style how to rapidly change the angle, position and even grip of their weapon without moving their hand from it's signature position at the user's waist for maximum versatility. Users of this style often assume a one foot forward, one back, slightly swayed stance to free up movement as well at the expense of leaving their center open.
*[Toryu • Lunging Feint]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 5 Speed
A basic technique of the style wherein the user moves in for a basic lunge-thrust with their weapon, only to turn in mid thrust and attempt to sweep their leg under the opponent's own. This tends to be useful as a basic feint and can usually knock down those with less strength than the user who get caught by it.
*[Toryu • Guard Break]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 5 Strength
After rushing in on a foe and initiating an attack the user waits for the opponent to guard, either with arm or weapon, before quickly lashing out with their hand or pommel of their blade and attempting to smash the guarding hand or arm aside with a wrist smash. The pain as well as damage can interrupt the guard of opponents, leaving them wide open for the initial attack to hit.
*[Toryu • Limb Lock]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: *[Toryu • Close Quarters] , 5 Taijutsu
A dangerous close quarters 'option closer', the Toryu user will sweep in close and try to slam their foot down on an opponent's as well as quickly sweep their arm around the opponent's to lock their elbow with the user's own. This technique is usually utilized for setting up blows or blocking off the weapons of dual-wielding foes and it forces the opponent to break out of the move before counter-attacking.
*[Toryu • Counter Kick]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 5 Taijutsu, 5 Strength
The user of this technique will attempt to block the blow of his opponent with his blade, relying heavily on the durability of their weapon and their own strength to resist the strength of the opponent's attack. Should they be successful, the user will follow up with a swift kick to the target's chest or stomach to push them away and stun them, then follow up with a quick stab to the chest or stomach.
GenjutsuShow
*[Genjutsu • Boom!]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals, then within the next post, snap their fingers. Anyone who hears the snapping will hear an explosion in the distance behind them. This works as an effective distraction, or a scare tactic, if properly utilized.
[Genjutsu • Behind you]
D-rank illusion genjutsu
Once the handsigns are completed, Taku utilizes his ability to whistle as the trigger. Anyone who hears this whistle will then hear the pitter patter of footsteps from behind them which serves as a distraction. This only lasts for one post.

Son of Ryu and Sakura Hyuuga,Taku’s life began with agony. Advised against having children due to the likeliness of complications during pregnancy, Ryu and Sakura thought that they were prepared for such a circumstance. They were Hyuuga after all, and it was their duty to grow their clan if able. It was a difficult pregnancy for Sakura, one that wreaked havoc on her as well as the child. After 32 weeks, Sakura choose surgery less she lose the child and her life.
Premature, woefully underweight and a weak immune system, none of the hospital staff believed he would live more than a few days. It was this heartbreaking news that brought his parents to name him Taku. Taku required intensive around the clock care the moment he was brought into the world. After seven long days, Ryu and Sakura were informed that their son would live for now, but it would be an arduous road ahead of him. After another three months of hospitalization, they were finally allowed to bring him home. However this would not be his last stent inside the hospital walls.
Taku was never home for long. In fact, in the first six years of his life he spent more time in the hospital than he did amount his own clan. Either from illness or trouble from his underdeveloped body, the boy just could not seem to stay healthy. Sakura and Ryu did their best to take it in stride, and for a while they had the emotional support of their clan to help carry them through. But after years of battling sickness, the murmurs of Taku being cursed began to spread.
When he was home, Taku was kept indoors away from the outside world It was easy enough, his parents fussed over him constantly, and he lacked the strength to stay active for long. Infected with tuberculosis, he was never really able to run and play. The clan also worried that his illness would spread. While the Elders did not forbid him from interacting with his family, there were plenty of Hyuuga that kept a wide berth from the boy. So it was that he spent a majority of his childhood indoors, reading and being taught by his parents. While Ryu and Sakura had hoped he would become a ninja like them, but it was apparent to them that such a lifestyle was impossible for their son. But they didn’t let it affect their love for their son.
So it was that Taku fell into the routine. Read, learn, sleep, sick, hospitalized, treatments, recovery and discharge. On and on, until a few months after his 12th birthday. His uncle, Kazuma, was killed during a mission leaving behind his wife and infant daughter. Unable to deal with the grief of losing her husband and having to raise a daughter alone, Haruka approached Sakura about adopting her daughter Shimi, to raise as their own. The couple couldn’t find it in them to turn her away. Not only was she Sakura’s sister, but they were being offered a chance to raise and nurture a healthy child unburdened by illness that plagued Taku. They saw it as a second chance, and while they convinced themselves that Shimi would never replace their own son, it did change the dynamic of their household.
Taku was no fool, he knew what his reputation was within the clan. Knew the burden that his existence placed on his family, even if it was something that he couldn’t help. He was kept away from Shimi, and he welcomed it as he didn’t want to chance passing on his illness. Determined, he sought out a way to make himself stronger and rid himself of this weakness. It was his Jihan, his doctor, who provided him with a solution. While his tuberculosis was much more resistant to treatment, if Taku was able to strengthen his lungs then it was possible that his body could fight it off alongside the treatment. He was warned that it would not be easy, but the boy was determined and now that he found a sliver of hope there was no stopping him.
When he approached his parents about the idea they were understandably concerned, but with Jihan there to help explain they gave their consent. The next week, his father began to put him through light training. Taku’s life became a living hell for the next six years. Not used to prolonged activity, he was left gasping for air from the most basic of exercises, sometimes having to take weeks to recover enough to try again. But each time he failed, he grit his teeth and came back with twice the enthusiasm. Slowly, he began to grow stronger, the recovery time grew shorter and his coughing fits dwindled. At 18 it was determined that his TB was no latent. He still carried the cells, but they would no longer causing him breathing problems.
In the best physical condition of his life, Taku was still far behind others in his age group. Unable to activate the Byakugan, he could not take his rite of passage, but Taku still found himself enrolling in the Ninja academy. He had conquered his illness, and with training he figured it was only a matter of time before he awakened his dojutsu. He spent two years at the academy, learning to mold chakra for the first time in his life alongside others in his age group who decided that they too wanted to become ninja.
At 20, he was declared a genin, however he still lacked the ability to utilize his clans famed abilities. Nonetheless his family was proud of him. His little sister was ecstatic that her brother was a ninja, and she aimed to be just like him. With their support he spent his time training in Toryu swordplay to make up for not being able to use the Gentle fist, as well as developing his ninjutsu and genjutsu.
Now 22, he spends his time doing missions, caring for his clan, and helping his 8 year old sister prepare for the academy.
