Physical Appearance
Though not overtly muscular, Saburo is at least very leanly built. He is moderately handsome with skin slightly tanned by hours practicing taijutsu and various other techniques out in the sun. Atop his head is dark brown hair that has been cut short and combed back with faded sides. His round face features a straight nose and upturned pear green eyes.

Saburo wears the standard uniform of Konoha's professional ninja, consisting of a black shirt and pair of pants along with standard black open-toed boots. The sleeves of the shirt are rolled up to the elbow, revealing the athletic tape he wears on his left forearm to conceal a Fūinjutsu tattoo. The legs of the pants are short enough to bare a peek of his calves, which have also been wrapped with athletic tape. Additionally, buckled over a buffer layer of tape is a weapons holster on each of his thighs, and attached to the back of his pants is a back pouch. Over the shirt he wears the flak jacket of Konoha, zipped to secure it in place. To wrap up the outfit, he wears a navy blue long coat over the flak jacket that reaches down to the calves and has short sleeves and high collar. The inside layer of fabric is white.

His headband is made of black fabric and is tied around his forehead, as is tradition.

Personality
It has been several years since Saburo was a naively optimistic Genin, but he's also grown past the moody teenage years of his Chūnin career. Now, he has emotionally evened out as a young adult, though he is prone to extended moments of quiet contemplation. Usually these thoughts dwell on his family; concerned that the death of his brother and maiming of his sister has started to put a strain on his family. Outside of this, he tries to keep a smile on his face and offer help to any that ask it. After all, even if his idealism has toned down he believes that it is simply his duty. Even if his dream of being a perfect ninja was a bit immature back then, he still hopes that he can be an accomplished ninja nonetheless; more so to honor the memory of his brother.

With the better part of his training devoted to taijutsu, traditional martial arts are usually his first method of dealing with threats in combat. But as he was taught over the course of his career, an effective ninja must be able to perform various techniques. As such, he tries his best to maintain a collection of jutsu to supplement his efforts. Additionally, by the Will of Fire, he places grave importance on the survival of his peers and focuses himself primarily on protecting them before himself.

Taijutsu Specialist
Having devoted their life to mastering the art of Taijutsu, this shinobi is classified as a Taijutsu Specialist. Taijutsu Specialists are able to devote a total of 10 Concentrations to Taijutsu, unlike most people who are capped at 8. However, they are only able to devote a max of 5 Concentrations to Genjutsu, and a max of 5 Concentrations to Ninjutsu.

As a Taijutsu Specialist, Saburo is able to utilize Taijutsu Concentrations reserved for Specialists, and is able to enter the God Tier [45+] on select stats, and meaning as a Specialist they can select stats to break into the God Tier. These stats are Taijutsu, Control, Speed, and Instinct.

Prerequisite: Doton • Manica
By channeling additional chakra into the Manica, the stones can be used as shackles by rearranging the stones around a detained target's hands at a Speed of 5. Use of this technique removes the Manica from the user. The shackles can be broken by anyone (including the target) whose Strength matches the strength the Manica had when this technique was activated. Otherwise, the user can remove them instantly by forming a hand seal.

By channeling Doton chakra into their arm, the user will form rock from their shoulder downward, encasing their forearm and hand in rough and simplistic layered plates of stone. The stone passes over the hand on the back-side but leaves the palm-side uncovered allowing full dexterity of the hand for seals. This essentially resembles a manica, which is a segmented armor that spans the length of the arm. The armor has a strength of 15 and forms at a speed of 5.

The user makes hand seals to form six pebbles made of chakra in their mouth which they spit rapidly at their target. Each pebble flies up to 15 meters at a Speed of 8 and hits with a Strength of 2. Because they are formed primarily of chakra these pebbles break into dirt upon impact, and as such do not benefit from the Doton passive.

After channeling Doton chakra into the ground, the user sinks into the dirt at a Speed of 10. While submerged, they can move around underground at half of their normal speed. While the user cannot attack while in this state, it does allow for ambush tactics; in which case he can spring up out of the ground by making a hand seal. Additionally, while the user can be generally sense vibrations from the surface, he has no real way of knowing what's above.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user gathers wind around their feet. Then, the user will use the wind to blast them from the ground, enabling them to leap into the air an extra 10 meters at 3 extra speed. The user also has 3 less Taijutsu until they once again touch the ground. Those with less than 5 Taijutsu (after deduction) will stumble and fall when trying to land. The Fūton passive is not applied in this technique.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user creates a small vortex of Fūton chakra around a projectile in their hand that spins with a strength of 5. This causes the projectile to corkscrew through the air, allowing it to travel an extra 10m and applying the Fūton passive when thrown. This doesn't make the projectile any faster, only increases its range and ability to cut.

By performing the needed hand seals and bringing their hands to their mouth, the user can release a wide blast of air. This wave of air moves outward in a cone shape with a 15m width at the end of the cone and moves with a speed of 10. Once it makes contact with a substance, the wind both cuts at it and pushes it away with 10 strength. This blast goes out for a maximum of thirty feet if it doesn't hit anything, where it will dissipate into the surrounding air.

Developed for clandestine operations originally, instead of using ink and paper, the user draws a seal onto their body the size of the item they are sealing into their body. Upon doing a set of hand seals, the user then slides the item into the tattoo and performs a second seal, causing the seal to go dormant. When kai'd the seal releases the stored item.

After drawing a seal formula on a surface, appropriate in size to the weapon being sealed but no larger than 3x9 inches, the user forms the needed hand seals then may place as many of that singular object into the scroll as desired. When done, the user performs another set of hand seals and touches the seal closing it off as the seal condenses to the shape of the object stored. This seal is the only known sealing application that allows depth storage and unfortunately this cannot be done at larger sizes. Tools can only be released at a maximum of 10 at a time, and are released with zero force.

The senbon can be shot up to 7 meters away.

Kushou-Ryu Soujutsu, or spear techniques, are a collection of Taijutsu techniques focussed around the use of polearms. The techniques can be used interchangeably for users of spears, staves, glaives and similar weapons. These techniques were developed by the military of the Holy City of Towers, rumoured to have been passed from the Holy Mother herself to the males of her land centuries ago. Those who wish to learn the secret techniques of the style must travel there and convince them to teach them. The style itself revolves around keeping the user’s weapon and body moving in order to manoeuvre around an opponent’s guard, or beat their way through it.

The foundational stance of the Kushou style, Low Wind Rising involves the spinning of the user’s spear or polearm around their body constantly whilst remaining in motion. While in this stance, the user will be able to deflect projectiles with less strength than their own, while also making unpredictable movements of their spear.

The user will vault themselves into the air using their polearm and then unleash a powerful blow from above. This technique is used to disorient and surprise foes as well as overpower them as it strikes with all of the user’s body weight and momentum from the spin they perform in the air in order to strike with the spear that was touching the ground moments before.

This technique is a kind of mental preparation for the constant movement and spinning involved in the Kushou style. This enables the user to gather snippets of vision, sounds and tactile sensory information in order to be properly aware of the battlefield around them whether standing still or in rapid circular motion. The user is effectively aware of their surroundings within Instinct/3m of their person, able to recognise when attacks are coming and the body positions of opponents.

While rare for a practitioner of Kushou-ryu to be on the defensive, this technique is designed to facilitate effective defence against other close ranged opponents. The user of this technique is constantly aware of distancing between the opponent and themselves, and therefore will aim all of their strikes to prevent the opponent from closing the gap using their long weapon. This will make it extremely difficult for those with less Taijutsu than them to get close to the user safely without somehow neutralising the user’s weapon.

This is the core technique of the Kushou Style. The user will begin in the Low Wind Rising stance and then approaches their opponent. They will begin with a wide arcing blow to begin this combination of blows. Following this they will spin their polearm and their body as they follow their opponent across the battlefield, chasing them down as they block and evade. This technique takes the user’s entire post, and can strike a number of times equal to half their speed. Those who block more than one blow will suffer a -3 to Taijutsu for 3 posts as the weapon’s momentum and force jars their body.

After either blocking an opponent’s strike or having one of their strikes blocked, the user will flick their weapon. Using their great leverage and range to their advantage, the user is able to skilfully dart their weapon around the opponent’s existing guard for a quick thrust at their opponent providing their Taijutsu is greater than the opponent’s.

The user of this technique will strike the ground with one end of their weapon hard, dragging it in a line. This will fling a cloud of dirt, rock and dust up into their opponent’s eyes as if the user had thrown it. The use of one end of their weapon in this enables the immediate return of the opposite end for a follow up strike at either a blinded opponent or an opponent that is quite predictably dodging the debris.

Ochiba is a weapon style originating from the fire country, one of the few weapon styles developed by Shinobi and not Samurai. Ochiba translate as “Dead Leaf” As it is a weapon style that focuses on the use of a Kunai which are similar in appearance to a leaf. The kunai is held in a reversed manner, the handle comes up by the thumb and the blade comes down by the bottom of the hand. This allows for short, yet quick strikes and parries. Though this style is developed to use a kunai it can be transposed to other short weapons such as ninjato & tanto, though not all techniques will be available.

A technique that relies highly on speed, much like a floating leaf being swept away by the wind, the user will attempt to slap away any incoming melee strikes or projectiles with their kunai. The average of the user's speed and strength needs to be higher than the strength the projectile was thrown at, using the momentum of their own speed to deflect the strike.

The user will start by performing an extremely quick and powerful slash aimed at the target, and then continuing with that movement, they will spin themselves around and follow up with a powerful roundhouse kick.

Utilizing this maneuver, the user is able to quickly draw a kunai from its holster. This is done by placing their finger through the lip of the holder and into the ring of the pommel, flicking it up and out quickly, having the kunai in the user’s hand within an instant.

Prerequisite: 15 Speed
Utilizing their kunai as a throwing weapon, the user sprints at their opponent and when they are less than a meter away, whilst sprinting, they will toss their kunai directly at their target’s face. If the attack is done correctly, it will simultaneously blind the target by blocking the majority of their vision and distract them. Also, it creates the appearance that the user is actually thrusting with the kunai instead of releasing it, allowing them the opportunity to strike.

The user has become a master at movement and energy expenditure being able to make the best of quick movements while also being able to maintain awareness and escape from a sticky situation. They utilize the utmost of their speed to make every movement count, and can create quick formulated movements that are efficient.

Users attempt to overwhelm defenses with great speed and strength while chipping away at their opponent’s stamina and keeping their own at the highest possible. Most attacks are simple in execution but extremely powerful in effect, causing battles of attrition to be in their favor.

A neutral stance taken by even entry level practitioners. This stance involves turning your body to be perpendicular to your opponent. This stance provides ease of dodging incoming blows by using the least amount of motion possible while still being ready to launch into an attack.

To begin this technique, the user will sprint and jump over the opponent. As the user goes over the opponent's head, he will swing his foot backward, attempting to strike the opponent in the back of the head. This technique is mainly to disorient opponents and to gain the advantage of being positioned behind them without being entirely defenseless while getting there.

The user makes hand seals and reflects light off a reflective surface toward the target's eyes. If they see the reflected light, their vision will be marked by dancing spots of light. This effect lasts for three posts.

The user does the needed hand seals, and then locks eyes with the target to trap the target in the genjutsu. For the next 10 posts, any pain that the target feels as if nothing really happened, effectively lessening all pain and nerve responses. The target would still be damaged, but any damage done to them would feel as though it hadn't happened, and as such they will usually overestimate their own stamina.

History
Born the third of four children, Saburo always found himself looking up to his two older brothers, Daichi and Osamu. So, when they both broke away from the Yojinoka family tradition of civilian occupation to follow the ninja's path like their great-grandfather, it came as no surprise -though still of concern to his parents- that he would follow the same path. To his brothers' credit, they helped him with his studies while he went through Academy and would continue to give him pointers even after his graduation to Genin status. This was a behavior that he took to heart, as he soon began to do the same with his younger sister, Akemi, as she was preparing for Academy herself.

Even with the help of his brothers, his time at the Academy was about as average as it could be. In hopes of being the greatest ninja in the Village, though, he gave his best effort in class, even when control over his Chakra initially was subpar. There were also made a few friends he made going through, though such a thing was normal for a child his age. In the end, he managed to overcome his difficulties with Chakra and -more notably- earned his praise for his skill in taijutsu; a trait he picked up from his oldest brother's extra sparring sessions after class. To this day, he considers his graduation the best day of his life.

His time as a Genin ultimately seemed to pass quickly, but probably the most fun he ever had as a young shinobi. Even more so when had one of his closest friends with him on the same team. They learned much together; but also, as kids are wont to do, they made several mistakes. But each day they made steps closer to furthering their careers. But things did get dire from time to time, even in the safer world of a young Genin. Of particular importance was the loss of his oldest brother to the dangers of the shinobi life. It came as a shock with just how much Saburo looked up to him. It was hard for him to process that someone he thought of as invincible could so suddenly be gone. But even then, the Will of Fire helped him to remember that he still had his family and his friends, so he did eventually learn to cope with it. He even went on to pass his Chūnin Exam with his best friend on their first attempt.

Before the promotion was entirely official, though, the Invasion of Konoha happened. He didn't know exactly who had invaded until much later, but the effects were just as real. He was part of the team sent to evacuate the Academy, where a close encounter with the criminal Enma left his sister scarred with a burn.
