Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Shikatsu is blessed with a diamond face shape, his chin and forehead narrow with high cheek bones. A medium length mop of black hair covers his head and barely falls into his eyes and over his ears. A stud piercing adorns his left ear lobe along with a band piercing higher up on the lobe. Like all Nara men, his eyes are small and black.
  • Body: Slightly taller than others his age, Shikatsu is a pale child with a lanky body. His body is lightly muscled although pockets of baby fat still remain, the boy just in the midst of puberty.
  • Notable Features: N/A
Clothing/Accessories: Shikatsu's attire is very plain: a black t-shirt with a black hooded jacket on top with a pair of beige trousers and black combat boots protecting his feet. His belt buckle bears the symbol of Konoha on the front. He also keeps a deer skull that has been polished and cleaned. The skull has goat horns merge onto the top of it instead of antlers, it is attached to his belt by a small piece of rope that goes through a tiny drilled hole. Shikatsu will sometimes wear the mask depending on if he thinks it will add a fright factor to those he is dealing with.
Personality:
  • General: He is quiet and, like all men of the Nara Clan, quite lazy when it comes to things he is uninterested in. Shikatsu is not much of a people person and instead prefers to spend much of his time alone inside of the Nara Clan Forest tending to the deer.
  • Hopes/Dreams: He is still young and not far into his Shinobi career, currently his dream is just to get stronger and develop himself as a Shinobi.
  • Fears: Shikatsu is unlike others his age and is rather desensitized to death, whether it be others or the thought of his own. His current fears are rather mundane things such as failing a mission or having a jutsu backfire on him. If he was to really dig deep down and think about what he was afraid of it would have to be something like another invasion of the village by Missing Ninja.
  • Combat Mentality: His strategy for combat is simple. He relies on clones and his companions to do the majority of the frontline or support work while he strategizes and coordinates the battle from the back line. If he is forced to get in close, Shikatsu is trained in the usage of daggers to defend himself. If forced on the offensive with his blades, he will focus on striking weak points to land critical hits to his opponent.

The blades are serrated along the front edge with the backs tapering inward for 3 inches starting at the middle of the blade before curving upwards and continuing into the handles. This user has superb chakra control, and has learned to perform jutsu by channeling, without the use of hand seals. The user can channel any ninjutsu that is designed to be channel, and there are no specified parameters in which a jutsu must fall to be channeled by this method. To get this concentration the user must be an Elemental Ninjutsu Specialist, and have picked Control as one of their specialized stats.

Shadow Manipulation
Less of an element and more like a specialty, the members of the Nara Clan are able to manipulate both their own shadows and shadows in the surrounding area. This chakra allows them to use various techniques that allow them to create effective traps to use against an opponent as long as there is enough light in the area to create the shadows needed to do so. If there is absolutely no light present in the area of the Nara member, they are unable to use their shadow techniques. Requires an above average Instinct and Control for the character's rank. The range at a clan member can manipulate shadows is dependent on their control stat:
  • 6: Can control their own shadow.
  • 12: Can manipulate shadows in a 1 meter area.
  • 18: 5 meter area.
  • 24: 10 meter area.
  • 30: 15 meter area.
  • 36: 20 meter area.
  • 42: 25 meter area.
  • 48: 30 meter area.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Katon, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Katon affinity. Katon has a passive ignition effect.

Katon's effect is ignition, which means that all katon jutsu, regardless of effect, start and spread fire from their source. Once a jutsu has been performed, the fire from the jutsu spreads at 1/3rd the speed of the technique, rounded down. That means a C-rank katon jutsu that moves at 13 speed would create subsequent fires that spread at 4 speed. These secondary fires require flammable material to continuously spread, otherwise they will burn out on their own.

Additionally, the strength of burns on organic material from katon jutsu is determined by the strength stat of the individual jutsu.

Ninjutsu: Elemental Specialist:
Having devoted their lives to mastering the Elemental affinities, this shinobi is classified as an Elemental Ninjutsu Specialist. Elemental specialist are able to devote a total of 10 concentrations to elemental concentrations, unlike most people who are capped at 8. The user is not able to access any specializations that are marked for Ninjutsu Specialist, but instead, can now pick up concentrations marked for Elemental Specialists. Additionally, their two additional concentrations MUST be used for elements. They cannot use them for ninpou styles. However, they are only able to devote a max of 5 concentrations to Taijutsu, and a max of 5 concentrations to Genjutsu.

As a Ninjutsu Specialist, Shikatsu is able to utilize Ninjutsu concentrations reserved for specialists, but cannot utilize non-elemental ninjutsu specializations. Additionally he is able to enter the God Tier [45+] on select stats, and meaning as a specialist he can select stats to break into the God tier. These stats can only be [Ninjutsu], [Speed], [Control], and [Stamina].

The kunai is just like any other kunai in terms of durability and sharpness, and lasts for up to 3 posts.

After channeling and flooding a shadow with chakra, the user will cause the shadow to keep whatever is on top of in place with a strength of 5. Lasts for 3 posts.

After channeling and flooding a shadow with chakra, the user will cause it to rise up in front in a six foot tall, three foot wide shield with a speed of 4 and a strength of 6. Lasts for 3 posts.

After channeling and flooding a shadow with chakra, the user will cause it to extend out wards in a thin spike with a speed of 7 and a strength of 3 up to 10 meters from the point of origin.

Shadow Tendril
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After channeling and flooding a shadow with chakra, the user will cause their shadow to rise up off the ground in the form of a single tendril, about 3 inches in diameter. The tendril can be manipulated with a strength of 4 and a speed of 6 up to 10 meters from the point of origin. Lasts for 3 posts.

Shadow Imitation
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After channeling and flooding a shadow with chakra, the user will send their shadow out across a surface toward a target, aiming to connect it to the opponent's shadow. If contact is made, the user and the opponent will be linked together in movement, so that everything the user does is mimicked by the opponent. The initial shadow moves with a speed of 8 and the hold can be broken with a strength of 12. Lasts for 6 posts. Other Ninjutsu cannot be used during the duration of this technique.

After channeling and flooding their shadow with chakra, the user will cause their shadow to crawl up their body at 2 Speed, covering them from head to toe in a protective armor with 8 Strength. Lasts for 5 posts.

Shadow Extraction
C-rank Ninjutsu
Shikatsu will meld his own shadow with the shadow of a fallen foe before attempting to create a shadow wraith. Those with a [Control] lower than Shikatsu's [Control+Ninjutsu]/2 will have a shadow wraith created in their likeness while the jutsu will fail if it is higher. Shadow wraiths of stronger foes will require more chakra and will form a stronger Companion. Shadow wraiths created through this jutsu are treated as summons and when not summoned reside within Shikatsu's own shadow.

Shadow Summoning
C-rank Ninjutsu
The Shadow Summoning jutsu allows Shikatsu to bring forth his shadow wraiths from his own shadow to fight on his behalf. The chakra used for this technique varies, as it is dependent on the size and rank of the shadow wraith being summoned. Once one has been summoned, the user will experience a constant drain on their chakra for as long as the summon is in place. This drain is also dependent on the size and rank of the summon.

By channeling katon chakra into a metal weapon or blade, the user will cause it to grow hotter and cover the blade in flames. The imbued weapon will be able to carve through defenses of 5 or less strength with ease.

Nara, Shikatsu was born to two Chuunin of Konohagakure no Sato. His parents, a couple in their late 20s, immediately moved out of their dinky apartment when he was born and into a larger house on the outskirts of the Nara forest. Shikatsu's childhood growing up was mundane; he was a quiet child who kept to himself and would spend his free time after his Academy classes and clan training in the Nara forest tending to the deer rather than spending time with the other children his age.

Shikatsu graduated from the Academy in the bottom half of his class due to his inherited Nara laziness and was placed into a genin team led by a newly minted jounin sensei; a gungho young man in his 20s who had recently been promoted to the rank. Stuck with tedious D-rank missions for weeks, the lives of he and his team took a different turn during a routine mission to guard a caravan from bandits. The number of bandits they had been told would be there was false information; triple the expected number had ambushed them leading to the deaths of both his team mates and his jounin sensei who had been unable to fend off the sheer numbers of enemies, leaving the boy the sole survivor of the incident. He had been knocked unconscious by a blow to the back of his head and been mistake for a corpse by the bandits, only coming to the next morning in a field of corpses.

Now untied to a team or sensei, Shikatsu aimlessly wanders the Nara forest during the majority of his free time, training his mind and body.

Appearance: Igris is a shadow wraith in the likeness of one of the stronger bandits killed on Shikatsu's mission-gone-wrong. A suit of metal plate and boiled leather covers his body along with greaves and gauntlets and a full helm with a low hanging plume. If one were to strike the armor, they'd find it offers no resistance at all to the shadow wraith and damage to the armor is similar to damage to its body.
Personality: Igris is eternally loyal and protective of Shikatsu, viewing the man as his leader and commander. He refuses to speak to others besides Shikatsu and the man's other shadow wraiths. Dubbed Shikatsu's Right Hand Man, Igris is the captain of the shadow wraiths and is looked to as their leader when Shikatsu leaves them to their own objectives.

Toryu Kenjutsu:
Toryu Kenjutsu is a sword style originating from the Land of Pebbles that focuses on not just performing kenjutsu but also weaving close quarters style taijutsu into the bladework. Toryu's specialty is not only learning to capably slash a sword with one hand but also learning to use the hands, joints, legs and even the head to make frighteningly dangerous close quarters fighters. An inelegant style, it is commonly associated with the more 'rough' samurai but in truth it's reliance on two opposing impulses and control of the body makes it one of the more difficult Kenjutsu styles to learn. While usable with most blades, experienced fighters often prefer wakizashi, ninjato and even tanto daggers instead of katana for increased mobility.

The signature stance of the style, Close Quarters teaches users of this style how to rapidly change the angle, position and even grip of their weapon without moving their hand from it's signature position at the user's waist for maximum versatility. Users of this style often assume a one foot forward, one back, slightly swayed stance to free up movement as well at the expense of leaving their center open.

A basic technique of the style wherein the user moves in for a basic lunge-thrust with their weapon, only to turn in mid thrust and attempt to sweep their leg under the opponent's own. This tends to be useful as a basic feint and can usually knock down those with less strength than the user who get caught by it.

After rushing in on a foe and initiating an attack the user waits for the opponent to guard, either with arm or weapon, before quickly lashing out with their hand or pommel of their blade and attempting to smash the guarding hand or arm aside with a wrist smash. The pain as well as damage can interrupt the guard of opponents, leaving them wide open for the initial attack to hit.

A dangerous close quarters 'option closer', the Toryu user will sweep in close and try to slam their foot down on an opponent's as well as quickly sweep their arm around the opponent's to lock their elbow with the user's own. This technique is usually utilized for setting up blows or blocking off the weapons of dual-wielding foes and it forces the opponent to break out of the move before counter-attacking.

The user of this technique will attempt to block the blow of his opponent with his blade, relying heavily on the durability of their weapon and their own strength to resist the strength of the opponent's attack. Should they be successful, the user will follow up with a swift kick to the target's chest or stomach to push them away and stun them, then follow up with a quick stab to the chest or stomach.

Fuuton has a natural cutting property to it, that exists in all jutsu unless otherwise stated. This gives fuuton a unique opportunity to strike with additional power, and to act as a offensive defense. Regardless of their purpose fuuton jutsu passively cut with no distinct pattern at 1/2 the strength of the technique rounded down unless otherwise stated. This means if someone punched a 20 strength fuuton wall, they would get cuts on their hand applied with 10 strength. This also means that fuuton jutsu specifically designated to cut things can create devastating wound by essentially striking twice.

*Fuuton • Vortex Screw
D-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After doing the needed hand seals, the user creates a small vortex of Fuuton chakra around a projectile in their hand that spins with a strength of 5. This causes the projectile to corkscrew through the air, allowing it to travel an extra 10m and applying the Fuuton passive when thrown. This doesn't make the projectile any faster, only increases its range and ability to cut.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user gathers wind around their feet. Then, the user will use the wind to blast them from the ground, enabling them to leap into the air an extra 10 meters at 3 extra speed. The user also has 3 less Taijutsu until they once again touch the ground. Those with less than 5 Taijutsu (after deduction) will stumble and fall when trying to land. The Fuuton passive is not applied in this technique.

*Fuuton • Wind Skating
D-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After performing the needed hand seals, the user is able to glide on air as if they were skating on ice. This allows them to move faster (+3 speed) but lowers their accuracy and agility (-3 Taijutsu). This doesn't allow them to fly, but rather to travel over things like land, water, and ice with greater ease. The user is only held several inches off of the ground. This Jutsu does not expire until the user’s chakra supply runs out or the user shuts it off. The fuuton passive is not applied in this technique.

D-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After performing the needed hand seals, the user covers a projectile they are holding in fuuton empowered wind. Then, when the weapon has been thrown as normal, the user is able to change it's direction by up to 90 degrees once with no drop in momentum on the projectiles part. This technique only lasts one post.

After performing the required hand seals, the user expels a basket ball sized ball of wind from their mouth. This ball of wind travels up to 20m at 5 speed, and explodes with the strength of a single explosive tag on contact with solid matter or at the end of its range.

C-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
By performing the needed hand seals and bringing their hands to their mouth, the user can release a wide blast of air. This wave of air moves outward in a cone shape with a 15m width at the end of the cone and moves with a speed of 10. Once it makes contact with a substance, the wind both cuts at it and pushes it away with 10 strength. This blast goes out for a maximum of thirty feet if it doesn't hit anything, where it will dissipate into the surrounding air.

After forming the necessary hand seals, the user will thrust their hands forward as a vortex of wind blasts through with a speed of 10. The vortex's direction can be controlled with a Control stat of at least 15. The control, however, is limited; it can only be moved in a 45 degree angle, up to three times. A hit from this vortex packs a large push back force, though the person can avoid being pushed back with a strength of 5 or greater. Control of this Jutsu fades after two posts and spans an area 3m wide and up to 20m in length. Direct hits result in long but shallow cuts on the victim's body, covering the whole radius of the techniques point of contact, no deeper than half an inch.

After forming the necessary hand seals, the user coats their weapon in a vortex of wind. This extends the weapon's range by 1m while not adding anything to its weight for 5 posts. It also causes the weapon to gain an edge as sharp as your average sword. This also applies the fuuton passive with a strength of 10 on contact with an opponent.

*Fuuton • Wind Clone
C-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After performing the necessary hand seals, the user will create a clone out of their fuuton chakra. This clone will be able to act entirely independently of the user for 5 posts before dissipating, with physical capabilities equal to the stats listed below. This clone applies the fuuton passive to enemies it touches.

*Fuuton • Tornado Trap
C-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
The user will first perform the required hand seals and then gather wind around an opponent. This will form a tornado around them at a speed of 12 which extends 10m into the air and has a radius of 3m. The tornado will push back anything that touches it with a strength of 8, while also cutting at whatever tries to push through as well as a kunai would with the same strength. This technique lasts for 4 posts.
