Yukari is a young Genin of Konohagakure and a daughter of House Yamanaka. At 12 years old she has a slight build, standing at 157cm [5' 2''] and weighing 48kg [106 lbs]. She has a narrow but fresh-faced look of a youth, with pale skin, deep green eyes, and a button nose framed by long locks of sun-kissed blonde hair. Considering her years of academy training she has a healthy and athletic body, albeit lacking the hardiness and raw strength of many of her peers. She is yet unscarred or marred by the rigours of life as a ninja.
Yukari wears practical day-to-day clothing suitable for a ninja when on duty, incorporating muted colours and lightweight, unrestricting materials. This typically includes a green, sand, or earth coloured sleeved top with close-fitting dark trousers, around which she ties a kunai pouch, belt, and other tools. She wears her forehead protector in its rightful place on her brow, tied securely. When off duty she dresses more fashionably, picking outfits and accessorising to suit the occasion.
She is ofttimes a sombre and reserved child, yet willing and able to endure stress and hardship to see a task completed. She is honest and strong hearted, if sometimes direct, wishing the best for her peers and her village. Her reticence conceals a stubborn and ambitious streak that drives her to be the best, and to succeed where others have failed. Recent events, where wishful or dreadful thinking both fall short of practical action, have turned her into a realist who tries to keep a level head and act accordingly, particularly in a combat scenario. She fears loneliness and of hitting rock-bottom; of failing to stay strong and letting her mind slip into dark places from which she cannot again recover.
Equipment:
- Five (5) kunai, stored in a kunai pouch on her right leg.
- Five (5) shuriken, also secured inside her kunai pouch.
- One (1) triage medkit, containing bandages, gauze, burn ointment, needle and thread, and a vial of strong alcohol. Tightly rolled into a bundle and tied to the back of her belt.

Ninjutsu | Conscious ControlShow The Yamanaka have created a secret series of ninjutsu techniques that allows the user to seize control, manipulate, and erase information from a target’s conscious mind by overwhelming it with their own. This is most commonly used to take control of the target, allowing the Yamanaka to gain a situational advantage in battle. It can also be used to read the mind of a target, and create mental blocks in their thinking process. Requires: Above average Control. While supplemental techniques can be of any rank, techniques that involve the manipulation of consciousness must be at least D-rank. Additional guidelines:
The formula for this calculation is: Control versus the opponents Will Power. If the user's Control is higher than the opponents Will Power, their technique will be successful. RaitonShow Raiton A character with this concentration is able to utilize Raiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Raiton affinity. Raiton has a shocking effect. Passive (Shocking)Show Raiton has the effect of shocking, which means causes it's effect to be diffuse upon impact. In organic material, this causes nervous stimulation which results in numbness, tingling, loss of sensation, and sometimes paralysis. In inorganic material, this means that the strength of the jutsu diffuses across an area 2x the size of the attack. In a jutsu that creates a lightning ball 2m in diameter, if it struck a wall the size of the attack would cover a 4m area. Additionally, the strength of the nervous effect on organic material from raiton jutsu is determined by the Strength stat range they fall into.
SensoryShow Sensor Sensors are shinobi who are able to activate a sixth sense which can locate and read chakra sources. Sensory is advantageous as it allows shinobi to perceive without using any of their conventional senses, which can easily be deceived. Sensors are able to collect a lot of information through the interpretation of this sixth sense. |

Conscious ControlShow
E-Rank
~Ninjutsu • Absent Mind, Rigid Body
E-ranked Ninjutsu
As the Yamanaka's consciousness leaves their body, they'll force chakra throughout their body in order to make it rigid, preventing it from falling over while their mind is absent. This drains a negligible amount of chakra every post due to being such a low ranked technique.
~Ninjutsu • Consciousness Return
E-Ranked Ninjutsu
A staple technique to the Yamanaka Clan, by channeling a small amount of chakra the Yamanaka can expel their consciousness from anything or anyone that it currently inhabits, returning all pieces of their consciousness to their body over the course of a full post.
D-Rank
~Ninjutsu • Thought Insertion
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the hand seals, the Yamanaka sends a portion of their consciousness out at a speed of [Control] and a range of 10 meters. If it makes contact with the target, the Yamanaka can insert a single thought into the target's head. Things such as "this is a bad idea", "Don't go in there" and "attack this." The target will be unable to discern where the thought appeared from if they have less Will Power than the user's Control. The user has a -1 Will Power for the duration of the technique.
~Ninjutsu • Stow Away Mind
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After the necessary hand seals, the Yamanaka projects their consciousness at a target in at a speed of [Control] and a range of 10 meters. The Yamanaka does not attempt to take over the target's body, instead they sit in the background experiencing everything that the target does, causing the target to feel a strange presence while affected. This jutsu only functions properly if the target has less Will Power than the user's Control. Since this does not take control over the target's body, the Yamanaka will not receive any damage that the target receives. Lasts for 4 posts, during which the user's body goes limp.
~Ninjutsu • Memory Exchange
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the hand seals, the Yamanaka will place their hand upon the head of a willing target, and summon up one of their own memories to be transferred into the target's brain. They can only exchange one memory, and it is a one-way transfer as the user can only transfer one memory and cannot receive any other memory. The target will only receive the visual experience of the memory, and will not feel the physical or mental effects of the memory. After the memory has been transferred the technique ends.
C-Rank
~Ninjutsu • Mind Body Change
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
After the necessary hand seals, the Yamanaka projects their consciousness towards a target with a speed of [Control] and a range of 25 meters. If this makes contact, the mind of the victim is forced to watch as the Yamanaka controls their actions. If the target has more Will Power than the user's Control, they can overpower the intruder and force them out of their body. Control allows them to control basic movement. It should be noted that any damage the possessed opponent suffers will be reflected on the Yamanaka's original body. If avoided or resisted, the consciousness takes one post to find its way back to the body. Lasts for 5 posts, during which the user's body goes limp.
~Ninjutsu • Communion of Mind with Mind
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
After the necessary hand seals, the Yamanaka projects a portion of their consciousness with a speed of [Control] and a range of 25 meters. If this makes contact, the Yamanaka and the target will be able to relay their thoughts to one another. Only works on a willing target. Lasts for 5 posts, eliciting a -3 to Will Power for the duration.
RaitonShow
D-Rank
*Raiton • Lightning Armament
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After the correct hand seals are performed, the user coats themselves in a thick layer of lightning. This armour of lightning forms near instantly and requires [Control] Strength to break. During this time, the user's physical strikes apply the Raiton shocking effect.
*Raiton • Bright Bolt
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user will extend two fingers toward a target. A bolt of lightning will jump up to 10 meters from their fingers at [Control] Speed and Strength.

Prerequisites: 10 Control
This sensor jutsu is used by shinobi to feel chakra sources within a radius of 35 meters. While this jutsu is fairly helpful in sensing chakra, it is unable to actually pinpoint specific chakras outside of a 10m radius. This only gives the Shinobi an idea of how many entities with chakra are present in their general area.

Historical AccountsShow
Yukari is the only child of Yamanaka Inasa and his wife, Yamanaka Yoshino, both active shinobi of Konohagakure. The family lived in a small but comfortable home within the Yamanaka compound, and were quiet but hardworking members of the house. Yukari was raised with smiles and encouragement in safe and happy environment, always eager to please her parents and learn new things. Inspired by their stories, she joined the village ninja academy at the age of six. The Blooming Festival held by the House to celebrate her enrollment filled her with pride, and she took quickly and aptly to the studies of a shinobi.
Her early years at the academy passed relatively uneventfully. She made many friends and was a light-hearted, free-spirited child, always quick to volunteer and quicker to smile. As is typical for her lineage, her academic strengths lay in her mental abilities; a receptive mind and eager student made a quick study of ninjutsu and genjutsu theory, even if her small size hampered the speed and power of her taijutsu. Nevertheless, and under wise tutelage of her parents and academy sensei, she pursued a well-rounded education.
However, as Yukari entered her final year of study, her parents fell victim to the seemingly endless Great War that had engulfed the world. Their failure to return from the frontlines crushed the young girl, overwhelming her with grief as the cruel reality of the world, of which she could no longer remain ignorant, struck home. From then on, her smiles slipped away half-formed. Food lost its flavour, laughter its savour, and she walked like a ghost among the living, often unable to speak or act for days at a time. But despite the grief consuming every inch of her heart, she was not alone--hers was not an uncommon story in times of war--and sometimes, occasionally, she found kinship in other victims and orphans of the conflict.
During some of her darker days, a classmate began to tease her about the loss of her parents, accusing them--and thereby Yukari--of weakness and uselessness, hers emphasised as it was by a morose attitude and indifference to those around her. For a while she took their abuse without a care, even suffering a few beatings silently, until something snapped. Within the bleak depths of her heart she found a faint and rebellious spark, a single flickering desire to keep going. To overcome, and to prove herself better. The next time her bully raised a hand against her, she slapped it aside and lashed a vicious palm into his throat, leaving him gasping on the floor and unable to call out. She took his head in her hands and closed her eyes, then poured her worst memories into him using the power of the Yamanaka; that endless sea of grief and utter hopelessness she'd borne became then a weapon finer than any blade. He, nor any other child, ever bothered her again.
Despite the mental break following the loss of her parents, she eventually recovered enough of herself to complete her education. The incident with her former bully roused in her a desire to not just succeed, but to excel. In place of the happy, ever-smiling child she'd once been she became a determined and unwavering young kunoichi, who with the support of friends and family found the strength to graduate Konoha's academy and aim for the power and potential to improve upon the harsh world around her.
