General Information Type: Family
Village: Sunagakure no Sato
Size: 30+ Families
Traits: Originally nomadic desert wanderers, most Souseiji have dark complexions and hair. The family's connection to their spirit twin manifest solely in a physical mutations, in the case of their possessed members, that have become permanent transformations due to long term possession. Every family member has heterochromia of the eyes. Aside from this, family members often have one or more horns on their head or some other shared feature from their possessing spirit. For those that go the path of the jinchuuriki, a mendala like seal is visible on some part of their body as well, usually some place discreet due to Sunagakure's general distaste of tattoos. The visual appearance of the spirit twin must be humanoid though not necessarily human in appearance.
Traditions:
Reverence of Nature:
Originally nomads that traveled through the deserts of Wind country, the people of this family hold a deep reverence of nature and believe that spirits play a pivotal role in its balance. As such, they hold their own special holidays to worship these spirits in turn. Most important of which is the Memory of Joining. The anniversary of the pact made between man and spirit that changed the village forever.
Ascending:
Believing spirits are a higher life form than humans, the Souseiji Family believes that they raise themselves higher by "fusing" with a spirit. As such they call the process Ascending. They discovered the spirit possession has a higher synchronization rate when joined at a younger age with less risk of rejection and "husking" of the Souseiji Family member. So the Ascending Ceremony is most commonly done at the age of 5 before the children enter the academy. The ceremony is such a big affair that it replaces their birthday, instead choosing to celebrate their rebirth with the spirit, calling it their twin.
Bonding and Development:
The Souseiji is expected to train and work with their spirit twin and help them grow as much as possible. This ranges from teaching them maths and language arts to training the spirit to manifest and control a physical body. This, prior to graduation, is promoted with a special ninjutsu used to help synchronize the spirit with a chakra phantom. The Souseiji is expected to have trained the spirit to function without aid of the phantom prior to graduation from the academy.
Survivalist:
In order to remember and honor their previous nomadic ways, upon graduation from the academy, the younger generation is sent out to survive for a year straight in the deserts surrounding Sunagakure. For the Souseiji this is the a secondary final exam determining their future in the Family. Failure means returning to the Academy. They are expected to survive and live in the same manner as their ancestors for the one year. While a senior of the family will secretly tail them to prevent any outside interference, they will not be helped nor will they be allowed to ask for it. It is believed that a violation of this tradition, shall anger the souls of the ancestors and bring a curse upon their family line.
Influence: As a new part of the village that has yet to prove itself, the Souseiji clan has little in the way of political influence. However, the clan's closeness with spirits secures their position in the village, as Sunagakure works to advance its research and understanding of spirits to a new level.
History Originally the Souseiji Family was known as the Seishin clan. They were one of the many nomadic Oasis Villages spread amongst the few hospitable lands of wind country. They were named for their unique spirituality and worship of nature and the spirits that embodied the various aspects of it. The Village leader, a tribal shaman, was blessed with a dream message from one of the many spirit clans of the spirit realm.

The spirit informed the Shaman that his tribe was being hunted down and wiped out. Their numbers quickly dropping the spirit sought the help of the human realm to bolster their ranks. They beseeched the shaman to agree to a special blood pact that would tie the two clans together forever. The spirits sought to take advantage of the humans and hide in the material realm to bolster their numbers till such a time they could return safely.

The Shaman, in line with the clan's devout almost zealot like worship of spirits, could not possibly refuse. However, his compliance would change the clan in ways he could not have for seen. Awakening chakra, the clan became rife with accidents and injuries and chakra burns from not understanding how to manage the new gift properly. They turned to Sunagakure no Sato for help, hoping the shinobi could save their families and children. The village accepted them providing they contribute towards research into spirits. After two generations, with aid from the village, they developed a unique fighting style that involved their twin souls. Though their time in the Sunagakure no Sato has been short, they are truly devoted and loyal to their "saviors".

Soul Bound- Possesion:
Due to the unique blood contract binding the host and the spirit, members of the Souseiji Family are kyokishi, host to a summonable spirit that's possesing them. The spirit grants them Spirit Energy and is utilized in the family's unique jutsu, Tsuin no Kage, while in a possessing state. As a kyokishi the Souseiji is subject to the tenkujutsu rules. When desummoned the spirit returns to a possessive state residing within their host.

This is posted in the spirit twin's ability section with [Spirit Energy] counting together as one ability for the spirit.

Manifesting- Tsuin no Kage:
While young the spirit hasn't learned to manifest their own physical form. However, once the Souseiji is able to utilize chakra, they can manifest a chakra body for the spirit to practice manipulating. Before graduation they utilize special jutsu that synchronizes the false body with the Souseiji's own and train the spirit how to move the body. In order to capitalize on dual mind and body state, the clan has converted these jutsu into a specialized fighting style that enhances coordination between spirit and man.
Requirements:

Higher than average control and stamina at start up.

One ability slot if Jinchuuriki.

Must have a companion sheet for their spirit twin. The spirit counts as both a hench and a summon. They start off as a full sized humanoid and dont follow the [Chakra Pool] equals size rules of normal summons. They are unable to thread without the host as a hench however and are bound by normal summoning distance and duration restrictions.

D-rank Ninjutsu
After performing the required hand seals the user releases a blast of their chakra into the surrounding area with a mild shockwave with [Control] speed and strength. The spirit energy that reverses elemental interactions is dispersed in a 3x3x3m area. Any elemental jutsu used within said space has its elemental strength and weakness reversed for the duration it is inside the trick room zone unless already influenced by the Souseiji spirit energy. The space last a number of post equal to the user's chakra pool stat.

A-rank Ninjutsu
After performing the required hand seals, the user will create a clone in the form of their twin spirit. The clone will be the same size as the Souseiji and will share their stats.

-Souseiji - Phantom's Descent
S-rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: 50 Control
After performing the required hand seals, a body of chakra in the shape of their twin will form, being possessed by the spirit twin giving it a temporary body of its own. It will be 7 times the size of the Souseiji, but will share their stats. The drain to sustain the Spirit's body is immense and will drain 1 point of Chakra Pool points per post.

Tsuin no Kage is the Nintaijutsu that the Family has meticulously perfected to not only train the spirit to manipulate a body, but to also improve the coordination between the Souseiji's twin souls.

D-Rank Nintaijutsu Stance
Using a moment to synchronize with their twin, the Souseiji joins with their twin spirit and molds their chakra into a projection that resembles the upper body of their spirit that is four times as large as the user. This projection follows the movements of the practitioner. So long as the practitioner remains in this Stance, they can constantly emit chakra to maintain and repair this chakra projection. If the practitioner attacks with this projection, the attack moves at a Speed equal to their Speed and a Strength of [Control]. Nintaijutsu maneuvers in the Tsuin no Kage style executed while in this Stance are granted a Strength value of [Control]. The practitioner can exit this Stance reflexively to conserve chakra. Due to the chakra intensive nature of this Stance, this technique drains 1 Chakra Pool stat every five posts in addition to the chakra costs of other techniques the practitioner uses, regardless of whether they attack with the chakra projection or not.

Working in tandem with their spirit the practitioner releases a 1-2-3 punch combo. This technique turns the punches into a double-strike, the spirit projection mimicking the user's assault, its Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to [Control] for up to ten meters away.

Working in tandem with their spirit the practitioner releases a seemingly simple grab at the target. The spirit projection will mimic the grab seeking to latch on to the target, its Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to [Control] for up to ten meters away.

Prerequisite(s): [Deft Hands] and [Sword] Concentrations, ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
Working in tandem with their spirit the practitioner attempts to grab the target. The spirit projection will clap its hands summoning a blade of chakra and will slash down vertically between the hands of the Souseiji, its Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to Control.

Prerequisite(s): ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
Working in tandem with their spirit the practitioner releases a rapid 1-2-3 claw technique. This technique turns the swipes into a double-strike, the spirit projection mimicking the user's assault, its Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to [Control] for up to ten meters away.

C-Ranked Nintaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.[/i]
Using a dual-powered attack, the Souseiji grabs onto the target's arms, keeping them in position. As long as they are in that position, the spirit projection is able to punch and claw at the target almost freely, due to the target being captured. Someone with a higher strength than the Souseiji can easily break the hold, though.

C-Rank Nintaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisites: [Deft Hands] and [Perception] Concentrations, ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
The spirit seeing harm coming towards the user that the Souseiji does not from its vantage point behind them, will lash out with its claws to intercept an oncoming attack, its Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to [Control] for up to ten meters away.

C-Ranked Nintaijutsu Discipline
Prerequisites: [Perception] Concentration, ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
The Souseiji uses the eyes of the spirit projection to relay visual information to the Souseiji. This allows the Souseiji to cover his blind spots and to make more accurate predictions about the trajectory of weapons. If neither the spirit or the Souseiji see the launch of the weapon they may still predict trajectory but will be unable to account for any taijutsu that maybe used with the weapon.

Prerequisites: [CQC] Concentration, ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
Working in tandem with their spirit the practitioner releases a joint strike with both fist. This technique turns the punches into a double-strike, the spirit projection mimicking the user's assault, its Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to [Control] for up to 25 meters away. This can take out a lot of defenses and unless they’re supported by outside forces will knock a punched foe back a number of yards equal to the difference in their strength and the practitioner's [Control].

B-Rank Nintaijutsu Stance
Prerequisites: [CQC] Concentration, ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage, and 24 Control
Using a moment to synchronize with their twin the Souseiji joins with their twin spirit and molds their chakra into an armor that resembles the spirit. So long as the practitioner remains in this Stance, they can constantly emit chakra to maintain and repair this chakra projection. If the practitioner attacks with this armor, q portion of spirit realm energy will enter the targets body disrupting the flow of chakra and causing nausea and disorientation that last one post. Nintaijutsu maneuvers in the Tsuin no Kage style executed while in this Stance are granted a Strength value of [Control] and a Speed that matches the user's. The practitioner can exit this Stance reflexively to conserve chakra. Due to the chakra intensive nature of this Stance, this technique drains 1 Chakra Pool point every three post in addition to the chakra costs of other techniques the practitioner uses, regardless of whether they attack with the chakra armor or not.

Nintaijutsu maneuvers in the Tsuin no Kage style executed while in this Stance are granted a Strength value of [Control] and a Speed that matches the user's. The practitioner can exit this Stance reflexively to conserve chakra. Due to the chakra intensive nature of this Stance, this technique drains 1 Chakra Pool point every three posts in addition to the chakra costs of other techniques the practitioner uses, regardless of whether they attack with the chakra armor or not.

B-Rank Nintaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisites: [CQC] Concentration, ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
Working in tandem with their Spirit twin the user starts with a leg sweep while the spirit projection does an arm thrust. Once the target is off balance the Souseiji lets loose a kick launching the target in the air. Finally the spirit will strike with a thrust of the opposite hand knocking the target away. The spirit has a Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to [Control] for up to 40 meters away.

~Souseiji • Spirit Invasion
A-Rank Nintaijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisites: ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
While the Souseiji is locked in combat grappling with a target, the spirit projection will move to stab the target with a weapon formed of chakra. If it is successful the chakra making up the projection will channel into the body of the target before detonating. The user is not immune to the effects of the blast.

Prerequisites: [Deft Hands] Concentration, ~Souseiji • Tsuin no Kage must be active.
While the Souseiji is locked in combat grappling with a target, the spirit projection will move to chomp its teeth down painfully into its target, tearing off pieces of flesh. The Spirit projection will continue to "devour" the target so long as the Souseiji keeps the target grappled. The spirit has a Speed equal to the practitioner's Speed and a Strength equal to [Control].

Using a moment to synchronize with their twin the Souseiji joins with their twin spirit and molds their chakra into a projection that resembles the body of their spirit that is 7 times as large as the user. This projection envelopes the user like an armor the Souseiji floating in the abdominal region like a core. So long as the practitioner remains in this Stance, they can constantly emit chakra to maintain and repair this chakra projection. If the practitioner attacks with this projection, the attack moves at a Speed equal to their Speed and a Strength of [Control]. The practitioner can exit this Stance reflexively to conserve chakra. Due to the chakra intensive nature of this Stance, this technique drains 3 Chakra Pool points every five posts in addition to the chakra costs of other techniques the practitioner uses, regardless of whether they attack with the chakra projection or not.
