Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Kenzo is dark of hair and eye, both features more black than brown. He keeps his hair cut as an exercise in discipline, allowing himself only a well maintained goatee for facial hair. He's always had an older looking face, mostly due to his sharp jawline and cheekbones, but his skin carries the glowing bloom of youth within it.
  • Body: Kenzo has the bulky, sculpted body of a young man who trains rigorously. He's a tall and broad shouldered, with the straight, proud posture of someone confident in their competence. He's slightly top-heavy, with a torso shaped almost like an isosceles trapezoid.
  • Notable Features: His eyes are red and puffy from corneal scarring.
Clothing/Accessories: When relaxing or in the safety of a village, Kenzo wears a tea green sleeveless undershirt and dark green trousers with matching boots. He wears tinted, almost goggle like glasses and six gold earrings, three in each lobe. When traveling or on a mission, he wears the same clothes and accessories along with a light green down vest and a black belt for equipment. His forehead protector has been converted into this belt's buckle. He wears four sheaths, two on each side of his belt. One sheath on each side is for up to five shuriken, the other is for a single kunai . He also wears a wide pouch on the back of his belt, and carries a large burlap sack with drawstring as luggage.

Personality:
  • General: Kenzo is a practical man with a strong work ethic. He prefers a disciplined, organized lifestyle not only for efficiency, but because he enjoys it. His adherence to rigid structure can veer into obsession, especially when on his own for long periods. He's an outgoing individual, and is charitable with the affection he shows to his friends and loved ones. He tends to hold grudges, and is just as generous in his distaste as he is in his favor. He has no compunctions about dishonesty in general, but is intensely loyal and would never betray the trust of someone close to him. He's determined, willing to face steep odds in service to his dream or for his friends. He's confident and self-centered, being generally unconcerned with others outside of their relationship to him. He actively tries to limit his own bias, though his success in this is spotty at best especially when it comes to Fire Country. He's highly conscious of social convention, and strives to be polite whenever possible. He's very religious, and keeps to his rituals diligently. He has no reverence for authority, and is entirely willing to disregard or oppose those in power if he believes the consequences are worth it. He's capable of deep emotional attachment to people and ideas, but such bonds are hard build past the basic friendliness he usually tries to engage in. He can be highly creative, but rarely explores such creativity for his own sake. He's not very excitable, remaining anywhere from solemn to easygoing even in intense circumstances.
  • Hopes/Dreams: Kenzo's life goal is to reach his full potential as a ninja, and retire early in former Dune Country to pass down his skills. He often daydreams of Dune Country to take revenge against Konoha, but doesn't consider it anything more than a fantasy.
  • Fears: Kenzo's greatest fear is failure, be it failing to help his loved ones or failing to live up to his own expectations.
  • Combat Mentality: Kenzo seeks to end engagements as quickly as possible, opting for a cycle of decisive attempts on his opponents life before pulling back and focusing on defense to analyze for openings.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Fuuton affinity. Fuuton has an cutting effect.
Passive (Cutting)Show
Fuuton has a natural cutting property to it, that exists in all jutsu unless otherwise stated. This gives fuuton a unique opportunity to strike with additional power, and to act as a offensive defense. Regardless of their purpose fuuton jutsu passively cut with no distinct pattern at 1/2 the strength of the technique rounded down unless otherwise stated. This means if someone punched a 20 strength fuuton wall, they would get cuts on their hand applied with 10 strength. This also means that fuuton jutsu specifically designated to cut things can create devastating wound by essentially striking twice.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Kuuton, and advanced form of Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Kuuton affinity. Kuuton has a gravitational effect. These gravitational pockets can reach through barriers, walls, and function like a real source of gravity.
Passive (Pressure)Show
Kuuton users chakra to create pockets of gravity in a specific direction. Through the use of these technique Kuuton users can launch objects away from them, pull things in to a specific place, or crush things down into the ground. Kuuton jutsu operate off a focal point, and always move towards or away from that focal point. This means that all Kuuton jutsu cover some sort of area, and only effect what is within that area. They can not be used on a micro scale.

This user is able to utilize Storage Fuuinjutsu and Force Fuuinjutsu, making it possible for them to utilize any jutsu with the Storage or Force Classification. Storage Fuuinjutsu can be used to store supplies, weapons, armor, or anything in between. Force Fuuinjutsu are used to release, counteract, and capture energy.

This user is able to utilize Charge & Augment Fuuinjutsu, making it possible for them to utilize any jutsu with the Charge & Augment Classification. This concentration allows for the user to user chakra to affect the biological processes of a living creature. This includes modifying, speeding up, or slowing down the biological processes. Iijutsu is known for it's advanced nature and requires precise chakra control to work effectively. It can be differentiate from normal techniques by the faint light green colour of the chakra used in Iijutsu techniques.

Close Quarters Combat:
The fundamental skill of [Close Quarters Combat] indicates the user's proficiency to efficiently utilize martial arts and advanced combat moves involving the body, for example but not limited to, advanced kicks, grapples, advanced punches, etc.
Deft Hands:
The fundamental skill of [Deft Hands] indicates the user’s proficiency with using their hands in very specific and complex movements, like sleight of hand and targeting very small and specific points on an opponent’s body. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu in various ways.
Acrobatics:
The fundamental skill of [Acrobatics] includes the user’s ability to contort their body into unfamiliar positions in order to avoid attacks, as well as the user’s ability to fall safely and perform Ukemi and other feats of gymnastics. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Rigid Structure:
The fundamental skill of [Rigid Structure] describes the user’s ability to adeptly position and lock in their skeletal structure to efficiently absorb blows with minimal damage to their person. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Stealth:
The fundamental skill of [Stealth] describes the user’s proficiency in remaining silent, unseen and unnoticed as they go about tasks. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Medicine:
The fundamental skill of [Medicine] describes the user’s mental and physical ability to perform traditional and mainstream medicinal practices. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Perception:
The fundamental skill of [Perception] describes the user’s practiced methods of more keenly focusing their senses for a short time. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Projectile Weapons:
The fundamental skill of [Projectile Weapons] indicates the user’s proficiency with weapons designed to attack from afar, such as bows, shuriken, senbon, launchers and the like. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Weapons Crafting:
With large amounts of experience in the forge and with creation, this individual is able to craft and create most types of weapons and armor. While this typically doesn’t grant the individual himself any additional powers, it allows him to make more powerful gear for himself and shinobi than what can typically be found. However, those with such familiarity with weapons and armor are often skilled at noticing the strengths and weaknesses of weapons they face, and allow them to more easily exploit them.

*[Iijutsu • Thermometer]
E-Ranked Ninjutsu
This simple technique is utilized by medical-nin in place of traditional thermometers, although it is not as accurate. After forming a single handseal and focusing chakra into an object in his/her hand, the user can place it within the mouth (or rear) of the patient. If the patient's temperature is above normal body temperature, the chakra within the object will clump together near the top of it, while if the body temperature is below average, the chakra will form much lower down on the object. This technique can be held as long as the user has chakra.

*[Iijutsu • Sterilization Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
As sanitation cannot always be guaranteed in field operations, this technique provides a quick substitute to traditional sterilization methods. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will channel the chakra throughout his/her upper body (torso, arms, hands, face). This chakra will chew away at harmful bacteria and other foreign bodies on the skin, cleansing it until it is thoroughly sterile, and can be spread to objects, most commonly surgical tools. Of course, this takes both concentration and time, and in order to sterilize the entire upper body, it will take a duration of one (1) post. Users of this technique can also choose to sterilize certain parts of their upper body or the wounds of another person instead for a lesser concentration period. Once they are sanitized, they remain this way until coming in contact with more bacteria.

*[Iijutsu • Oxygen Flow]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Simple in its form yet highly effective in practice, the *[Iijutsu • Oxygen Flow] technique allows its users to clear obstructed airways, to perform less extensive CPR, and to give cells the oxygen they crave. After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will place both over the target's chest (through the back works as well). By allowing the chakra to be channeled throughout the lungs and up through the air ways, any unseen, solid or liquid obstructions will be cleared from these passages and ejected through the mouth, allowing the patient to breathe more easily. Additionally, the hands can be placed over the heart to help oxygenate the body's cells. In this instance, users must be much more careful, as over-oxygenating cells can cause more harm than good. This technique takes the entirety of one post to perform.

*[Iijutsu • Blood Clot Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
This highly useful field technique is applied to bleeding wounds to help encourage the coagulation of the blood. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them over the bleeding wound and begin to channel chakra through it. The chakra will began to thicken the blood, causing it to clot. Wounds must be dealt with one at a time, and the number of wounds that can be tended to within the three (3) posts that this technique lasts depends on their size. Small wounds take very little time to clot, while moderate wounds take one (1) post of concentration to clot, and large wounds take two (2) posts to clot. Although this technique stops the bleeding, the wound remains vulnerable and will require further care after this has been performed.

*[Iijutsu • Burn Ointment Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A relatively simple and handy technique to have at hand, *[Iijutsu • Burn Ointment Technique] is used to alleviate pain caused by burn wounds. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them above the burn wound. As the chakra is channeled into and around the burn, it cools the area and works to prevent harmful, scar-producing blistering in the affected area. To provide this soothing relief to small areas of first degree burns, it's fairly quick to do. For small areas of second degree burns, it takes one (1) post of concentration to achieve the same effects. This technique is ineffective when applied to larger areas or burns worse than second degree.

*[Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
When traditional stitching supplies aren't available, *[Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching] truly shines. After performing a short set of handseals, the user will gently place his/her index finger at the base of the patient's wound. Once this is done, the user will lift his/her finger and touch it to the other side of the wound, causing a visible 'stitch' of chakra to appear. This is repeated until the wound has been pulled together. Although precision is key, this technique can still be performed relatively quickly. Small to moderate wounds take very little time to stitch, while large wounds will take one (1) post of work to mend. This technique drains a minuscule amount of chakra from the person it is attached to in order to keep the stitches going, theoretically, ad-infinitum, and can be cancelled at any time by the user with a single handseal. Any intensive or strenuous movements will cause the stitches to break.

*[Iijutsu • Bandage Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: *[Iijutsu • Sterilization Technique]
A simple yet vital medical technique, the *[Iijutsu • Bandage Technique] provides its users with the ability to create makeshift bandages out of any suitable material they desire. After channeling chakra into an object (such as a leaf, piece of cloth, etc.), the user is able to apply it to the wound of a patient. Once applied, the selected object will adhere to the flesh around the wound, protecting it from bacteria and other harmful foreign bodies. Objects used for the bandage technique are automatically sterilized in the process. These bandages drain a minuscule amount of chakra from the person it is attatched to in order to keep them stuck on, theoretically, ad-infinitum, and can be cancelled at any time by the user with a single handseal. While not as effective at stopping bleeding as the [Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching] technique, they hold on much better in the case that strenuous movement is necessary.

*[Iijutsu • Medical Diagnosis Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 5 Iijutsu
Perhaps one of the most important Iijutsu techniques to date, the *[Iijutsu • Medical Diagnosis Technique] allows its users to probe another's body in search for medical answers. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will begin to channel it into the patient's body. Using this chakra as an internal extension of his/her hand to feel for abnormalities and other issues, the user is often able to determine the problem after some time and concentration. In order for a thorough examination to provide sufficient answers, the user will focus for up to one (1) post, seeking signs of internal and external damage, organ malfunction and disease among other ailments. Although skilled medical-nin have the possibility to work faster, skill cannot be substituted in for thoroughness.

*[Iijutsu • Cleanse Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
In the event that creating an antidote is not possible, users of this technique can still help their patient fight off toxins, infections and other foreign bodies. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will begin to channel it into the patient's body. As this chakra flows into the body, the leukocytes will react to its presence and begin to multiply rapidly. This influx of white blood cells takes one (1) post of concentration to create. Over the course of five (5) posts, the new and old leukocytes are able to fight off poisons that are C-Rank and below that have entered the body. During these final five posts, the medical-nin does not need to continuously focus chakra into the patient. It will take care of itself at this point.

The firstborn from the union of a medicine man and the foremost camel breeder of the region, Kenzo was born the eventual heir in a family of relatively fine means. Although not as wealthy or influential as a tribal chief, his mother had cultivated a close relationship with the local merchants due to their reliance on her stock for transport across the desert, and his father had accrued a few favors from local attendants to chiefs in exchange for custom perfumes. Neither of these things would save them when the Great War came to Dune Country. With Fire Country's invasion, his father was called to serve as a healer for the Chief of Chief's soldiers, and most of his mother's camels were taken to aid in logistics. Before he left, after much heated discussion, it was agreed that his mother would take Kenzo on the next trade caravan to Wind Country to wait out the conflict. Kenzo was seven at the time.

Unfortunately, there was little to return to by the end of the skirmishing. His father was dead, mistaken for a medical ninja in the fighting and executed. His mother was devastated, having lost her husband and the business she'd spent her life building. She had little time to process her grief, now without a home or plan once the caravan departed Wind Country. Determined to not succumb to her rapidly worsening circumstances, she sold most of the possessions she'd brought with her, and set out on her last camel for Sunagakure in the desperate hope she'd find opportunity in one of the great villages, unaware of it's isolationist nature.

The journey was long and arduous, due in no small part to his mother's inexperience with such a long trek. It would be four years of hardship against the elements before they arrived half-dead at Suna's wall. His mother, having kept her will with the faintest hope of a new life, despaired as she realized only trusted outsiders were permitted entrance. Her exhaustion overwhelmed her, and she collapsed on the road. She'd have died there in the sand if a blacksmith returning from pilgrimage hadn't heard Kenzo's cries and come to investigate. Seeing the woman's condition, he brought her to the gate and lied, saying she was his wife fallen ill while traveling. And so Kenzo and his mother finally entered Suna.

The blacksmith was a kind man, believing that his faith in Yuumagure demanded compassion towards all life blessed by Her Light. He lived with his aunt in a workshop they shared, which is where he brought Kenzo and his mother. There were some heated words over bringing an outsider into the village once the blacksmith explained the situation, but eventually it was agreed that Kenzo's mother would be allowed to stay till she was healthy enough to travel, then taken to the gates to leave. Kenzo's mother was shocked once she awoke, and upon being brought up to date by the blacksmith, burst into tears, thanking the Sun for once again blessing her in her darkest hour. Over the next few months she would prove herself worth the trouble taken to nurse her, advising the blacksmith that things like nails and tools would increase in value after the war as reconstruction efforts began. Quickly becoming a close confidant in his blacksmithing business, she offered to take on record keeping duties, even to sell his wares for him, which was very much appreciated by the somewhat socially awkward smith. In this time, they would grow close in other ways, and as the deadline for her departure came and went, it was agreed that she could stay 'for the sake of the business'. They were married the next year.

Kenzo's stepfather raised him as his own, his love for Kenzo's mother extending to him over the years. Kenzo's mother quickly acclimated to life in Suna, and although her grief for her husband and former life never fully faded, found contentment in her family and work. They had two children together, and Kenzo got along well with his two half-sisters. It was expected that Kenzo would join the blacksmithing business as he grew older, and his parents were quite surprised when they learned the physical training he'd been engaging in since his twelfth birthday had not been for the rigors of the forge, but to join Suna's ninja academy. They spoke with him at length about his decision, interrogating why he would choose such a dangerous life, but Kenzo refused to budge. Resigned to their son's decision, Kenzo's stepfather put in a good word for him, having sold weapons to the academy in the past. And so Kenzo, known only as a blacksmith's son, joined the Academy.

Kenzo struggled in ninja school, having joined far later than most. He failed the Genin exam three times, and would have flunked out in shame had a veteran instructor not given him training on top of his normal school lessons. This instructor claimed that Kenzo had potential, but was far too unrefined, training intensely but too inconsistently to ever achieve his dream of being a ninja. Kenzo was taught self-discipline, and the importance of a healthy routine. At first, Kenzo despised the extra lessons, feeling that training and study were taking up all of his time. Once his instructor heard him complaining, he demanded to discuss Kenzo's future with him after his lessons. Afraid he'd be expelled from the program, Kenzo met with the veteran at the village gates. But there was no anger in his instructor's voice as he invited him to look out at the village, and talked about the wall of all things. He said that the compressed earth of the wall could easily have been used instead to expand the village, the rocky sand hollowed out or carved away for who knows how many new buildings. But had that happened, Suna would've been left vulnerable, and all those new houses would've likely been conquered by now by Suna's enemies. "Some of us must be the wall, not the house. So which will you be?" Kenzo was quiet with contemplation, unsure of his answer. Suddenly, the words of his stepfather came to him, telling him why his mother and him were saved. "It is Her will that living beings should care for and protect each other. It is our highest calling to help others remain under Her Light." He replied he would be the wall, not the house, and walked with his master back into the village to continue training. When it was once more time to take the Genin exam, Kenzo earned his forehead protector.
