A giant of a man, standing well above most everyone in the village, Okami is the epitome of Kirigakure might! There are few that even come close to his sheer size and those that do are put to the test as the man is an avid fighter worth his mettle. With an overly large frame, Okami is littered with numerous scars. However, the scars are not grandiose or anything. When you are that big you're obviously going to be a bigger target. Or at least that is what people say in jest around him. In regard to his body, you kind of get what you see. The physique of Okami is nothing to scoff at with it being extremely beefy with strong defined muscles. In comparison to the many ninja that prefer to be grossly slender in the world, he acts as the opposite showing people that even a larger built man can function as a ninja. The tone of his skin is a bit paler than he would like mostly due to the damp, misty environment attributed to the island of Kirigakure. Okami's dark brown hair isn't all too much out of ordinary. It is grown out relatively long and connects with his rather thick beard. There isn't a need to style it since he usually just pushes it back. However, Okami does change it up by allowing his hair to be either in a downward position or tied back into a ponytail.
Clothing and AccessoriesShow
Okami has opted to wear something a bit more intimidating which is more fitting for somebody of his large stature. The attire consists of a somewhat heavy set of steel lamellar armor which is quite effective in combat compared to that of a standard issue Kirigakure flak jacket. Okami has adapted and grown comfortable with the additonal weight of wearing such heavy garb. The added weight is a small price to pay when pitted against the protection provided, especially since he is usually the first into the fray! What is mostly protected with this armor is the chest, shoulders, legs, and arms as those are the parts of the body primarily covered. This particular set has been blackened and decorated with red paint in an attempt to push the intimidation factor of his whole getup.
Underneath Okami wears loads and loads of bandages to wrap up his body. Mostly used on his legs, arms, feet, and groin area. In addition he also owns a couple black form fitting tank top undershirts with a few pairs of black military pants. That isn't all! Okami also wears standard issue ninja tabi, yet he also owns a couple pairs of black military grade boots to wear on his feet when needed. These undergarments per say act primarily as his casual attire, since he doesn't wear his armor everywhere he goes, as that would be a silly thing to do! Nonetheless, that is exactly what happens, thus many don't usually see him without his armor.
Upon Okami's right shoulder pad is the coat of a great wolf he had slain in the past. The pelt acts as much needed insulation for colder days. A sigil of a kraken has been etched onto his left shoulder pad confidently displaying his ties to the Karagata family of Water Country. Considering the wolf pelt, it doesn't come as a surprise that Okami wears a mask resembling that of an animal. Okami wears this mask the majority of the time. There are teeth visibly on the mask giving it a more feral appearance that goes along with his theme of being intimidating. Made of steel it is strapped onto the back of his head by use of leather. With an immense amount of pride in his former village, Okami makes sure to clearly indicate his past loyalty to those around him by wearing it upon his head at all times. However, since he does wear a mask the majority of the time he has also etched the symbol of village upon the forehead portion of his mask. Usually when a person goes missing ninja they opt to scratch out or discard their headband, but Okami doesn't have qualms with the majority of the village, thus he has allowed them to remain visible for those to see where he truly comes from.

PersonalityShow
- General: A warrior without a doubt. There are few things that come between Okami's passion for fighting. Growing up in the ninja world has greatly affected the man. Okami is a passionate and usually honest person, with a strong sense of duty to his own cause. Conditioned for combat he has developed a warrior’s mentality, to constantly test himself and hone his skills, mostly through the seeking out of stronger opponents. Over time, he has become emotionally detached from his actions due to the violent nature of his life, but that comes with the territory of being a warrior. Many would refer to him as being the strong silent type as he goes above and beyond to accomplish whatever he deems important. His role as a warrior is taking very seriously and he often encourages others to do the same. However, he is also noted to have a kind heart and a tendency to always think of those he abandoned in the village who are too weak to defend themselves, primarily those from his own family. People tend to gravitate toward the man due to him being quite comfortable to be around. He is even stated to be the "big brother" of those he comes in contact with due to how strict, cruel, yet caring he is.
Working out, fighting, eating, and maintaining his weaponry is what the man lives for. During his down time, Okami makes sure to eat plenty to keep up his energy for his intense training sessions. That makes him quite the food enthusiast. Going out to eat somewhere in a village is a common ritual for the man, as he makes sure to keep good relations with all his favorite spots around the country. Many food places are extremely close to the man because of this, sometimes going out of there way to make sure he has a spot at their establishments when needed. With Okami going out so much, one would assume him to be not so great in the kitchen. However, that would be completely wrong! He is actually quite the talented cook, on par with many professional chefs. With use of fresh game, from personal hunting, combined with a variety of fresh ingredients, he makes some of the most tasty food imaginable. All of this is used to power his training. When not enjoying grub, Okami will usually be found training amidst nature. For that is an unconquerable foe worthy enough of testing Okami's mettle daily. That isn't to say people are useless. Being an active member of the fighting community is crucial to improving himself. Here at these tough as nails places, he is known to be like a big brother to many. Constantly pushing people to achieve all that they can.
Suffering from an unquenchable thirst for power, Okami doesn't delve too much into anything too intellectual by nature. The truth is that he is quite simple minded when compared to your average man. He doesn't quite catch on to things as fast as others and can come across as outright simple at times. That doesn't stop him from conversing though, to be honest he can be quite the obnoxious person to be around, saying almost anything that comes to mind. No matter how rude or inappropriate, but then again who would willingly speak up against the giant? His size is enough to keep most from saying anything in regard to the things he blabs on about. When talking to the giant, he can come across as quite the eccentric, having a reputation of doing instead of thinking.
Over the years Okami has come to firmly believe that he will ascend to become the strongest man alive. This complex is a corruption of the mind and there is no way to reason with him about the concept anymore. One can even go so far as to say he has lost his humanity, he usually goes about his daily business without a care in the world for anyone except himself. People are not people anymore, they are just obstacles to be demolished in the pursuit of his goal. That doesn't just mean he will push everyone away. That is an unrealistic expectation. If they prove useful or helpful then he can rationalize using them for the time being before he treads alone once more. However because of how simple minded he is, Okami can be manipulated quite easily especially if one goes about it in a way in which he believes he has the upper hand or is in control of the situation. - Hopes/Dreams: As mentioned earlier, Okami hopes to one day achieve the title of being the strongest man alive. For years he has put in the work to transform himself into the man he is today. Quite the accomplishment in itself, yet he is still far off from truly attaining that title. There isn't an amount of sweat, tears, and blood he wouldn't give to eventually accomplish this dream. Attaining strength in its rawest form is the epitome of being alive or at least that is what he believes in. For only strength and raw power can assure total dominance.
- Fears: The greatest fear of Okami is also directly related to his dream of being strong. Being too weak to defend his family or the people close to him is what fundamentally drives him forward to enact his dream. Everyone in the family relies on the strength of the ninja portion to protect and further the influence of the house. If Okami is not able to accomplish that then what kind of man is he?! Failure to protect or provide for those closest to him goes hand in hand with this inherent fear. That is part of the reason as to why he takes on burdens solely by himself instead of asking for assistance. For even through desertion, his ties to the Karagata family remain essentially intact.
- Combat Mentality: There are three types of mentalities during combat that Okami tends to favor. The first believing that conflict is meant to be taking seriously. In response, Okami becomes much more serious and focused. There isn't room for error during combat and the like, for people are generally counting on him to accomplish a given task. In that line of thought, Okami isn't generally one to waste time 'playing' or 'taunting' an opponent. Okami will attempt to remedy the situation using any means necessary without harming his own comrades.
The second mentality is one where he just doesn't care anymore. In this combat mentality, Okami is known to charge head first into almost anything, he attacks like a primitive beast hell bent on utterly destroying his foe. His tactics are not always well thought out and instead he often relies on his superior strength and weight to overwhelm his enemies. Crushing and cleaving things is his primary objective when fighting like this! There is no better feeling then crushing the skull at the end of an intense battle. That pop sound when the skull finally caves in is exhilarating.
If the combat isn't meant to be serious in nature like that of sparring or training then he will allow himself to be more relaxed and passionate about the whole thing. For fighting in combat is a natural indicator of his overall progression toward his dream. When in this state of mind, Okami thoroughly enjoys himself. Training has always been a relaxing process, so when not serious about the exercise Okami tends to be overly joyous about the potential gains that can be made or the experience absorbed from the bout of exertion.
Historical AccountsShow
One fateful night, Okami, still a blubbering baby, was brought into Kirigakure aboard a large shipping boat along with his father. Okami was born to the rather famous Karagata family. His father was the renowned councilman, Karasu. He was quite the influential person who had traversed the world a few times over or at least that is what he had said on many occasions. With that sort of power it wasn't too surprising to find that Karasu had never truly settled down with anyone significant. So when the man brought a baby back to the village, the Karagata family were rightfully caught off guard. The mother had never been revealed to anybody outside of those closest to the man. The truth of the matter was that she was a slave that Karasu had come to fancy. Regrettably, she died during childbirth during the journey back to the village. With a heavy heart, Karasu decided to raise the child. Without any sort of defects the boy was quite the blessing for the councilman who would have never even thought about having a child. This was a perfect opportunity to produce an heir to the immense wealth collected over the years.
Okami would be raised solely by this man... and the countless personnel within their lavishly intricate penthouse located in the inner ring of Kirigakure no Sato. A dwelling that many could only dream of obtaining. Okami was already on his way to having a rather 'perfect' life. However, even with that wealth, Okami wasn't going to have an easy life for that wasn't the Karagata way. The boy would be raised harshly just like any other coming from the Karagata family; for being weak wasn't tolerated. Although, one benefit to having Karasu as a father instead of any other man was that he was a bit older than most. Having a child this late wasn't unheard of; just uncommon. Karasu had always been a calculating man with little interest in romance. Working for the betterment of the village had always been his primary objective. Being smart was how the man got ahead in life.
How does being older have anything to do with training?! Well, Karasu wasn't overly zealous or inclined to utterly break the boy down physically instead opting for a holistic perspective with a focus on using your mind. Basically the training came down to Karasu attempting to get Okami to use his head instead of the muscles he had working toward so stubbornly. At least that would seem like a benefit to most, yet for Okami it was a hindrance. Okami wanted the old man to teach him how to swing a sword! Eventually buckling under the pressure, Okami was taught all manners of swordplay. The boy was actually a natural too making the whole process a tad easier on the father who wasn't as fast these days. This was just the tip of the iceberg in terms of training for Okami hadn't even scratched the surface of actual training. In comparison to what he would have to deal with later in life this whole process was just playing around and having fun.
While growing up, Okami traveled with Karasu across the oceans of Water Country and beyond; learning and experiencing the world before many of his age. The boy was fascinated with the diversity of the world outside of Kirigakure. There was so much happening everywhere that the boy just couldn't seem to wrap his mind around staying rooted to one place. So whenever he was allowed he made sure to visit a variety of different places all the time alongside his father who was slowly introducing the boy into the profession of being a ninja. The teachings started with stories and then transitioned into current applications of what it meant to be a ninja of Kirigakure. Everyone around Okami aspired to be apart of the military caste within the village. That combined with the romanticism transferred to Okami almost instantly for it had a seemingly tangible benefit. So as a child the boy already yearned for strength. The strength in question was the literal kind. Having seen many incredible feats from sailors, especially during storms, the impressionable child wanted to become as physically strong as those that had clearly conquered the ocean. With that in mind, Okami worked hard aboard his travels to build his body through vigorous personal training that went above the required amount prescribed by his father.
As the years passed, Okami was eventually conditioned under the tutelage of Karasu. He just so happened to also be a formidable ninja during his time with the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Under his scrutinizing eyes, Okami was fully indoctrinated into the Kirigakure way of life. With intense training came the drive to obtain more and more strength. Strength above all else was drilled into the boys mind from the start. Training had become the reason to get out of bed now. Soon Okami would be thrown headfirst into the academy with many other aspiring children. Okami was ecstatic with anticipation to finally start the road to becoming a fully fledged weapon of the village. The day came faster than expected, for Okami the real fun was going to begin soon reminding him of when his old man first started showing him swordplay. Karasu cautioned Okami to take it easy for there were many forms of strength and one couldn't possibly possess each. Without thinking too much on the words of wisdom, Okami plunged into his academy life full stride only to be utterly decimated by those willing to use tact over brawn.
Academy life wasn't what Okami had expected. The people here were exceptional, had the old man been too soft on Okami?! The question lingered like a rancid smell in the air. Okami loved his father yet also scrutinized the man for not pushing him enough. Other Karagata boys much skinnier were crushing him in combat due to his slow nature. Sure, when Okami did land a strike it was usually a finished fight, but to get to that point he usually needed a miracle. Defeat didn't dissuade the boy. Okami pushed away those insecurities about childhood training and instead decided to push himself harder to become a competitive force within his grouping. Every evening after class, Okami made the maximum amount of effort to become a shredded machine capable of instilling fear into his peers. Accepting no help from anyone, people started to joke that he was actually a lone wolf like his name suggested. Not phased by this jesting, Okami adapted over the course of a few weeks to the point of decimating most. Without wielding any weaponry, he was able to single-handedly take on five academy students at one time. An impressive feat deserving of praise from the instructors. After that had been overcome, passing the academy became second nature.
Placed into a rivalry squad, Okami was pleased to get a decent contender that would help chisel him into a fine piece of weaponry. The contender? A Yamai boy with the speed and skill to give Okami a relatively difficult time. Both had specialized in martial prowess, thus when it came to training they were able to push each other to heights previously considered impossible to the two. Through this training they became close friends, but reality always lingered in the back of the mind that to advance further one of them had to fail. The system really pushed genin to work harder to overcome the other, translating into relatively less work for the upper ranked ninja. As with other milestones, the time to either rise of fail came rapidly into the forefront of time. Karagata vs. Yamai! A spectacle for the two families to witness. The weight of the expectations of their families became obvious as the examination came closer. Once a close pair they had now drifted apart due to each families political workings. In the end, that is how it had to be. That was part of the reasoning the rivalry squad did so well in producing exceptional ninja.
With a heart pumping blood like a raging river, Okami stood menacingly above the Yamai. Okami's food rested upon the skull of his friend. Victory had never tasted so delicious. The roaring applause of the Karagata family echoed throughout the arena. Everyone here bore witness to his colossal accomplishment. Okami scanned the arena for his father. Interestingly enough, Karasu was nowhere to be found. How could the old man do that to the boy?! Had this not been what Karasu training Okami to do? Anger seemed to overtake the victor who looked down and felt his body instinctively move to induce more suffering. Before that could happen the fight was ended by a veteran ninja. The familiar blood lust had subsided for now as he sat alone on a bench within the inner portion of the arena. Why was Okami so angry? This is what Okami had wanted too. He didn't need his father here to validate his overall strength and dominance. Here in that cold room, Okami finally clicked into reality. Karasu had never truly been there for the boy. In all honestly, he had been raised by the slaves of the household. Constantly away, Okami got this far mostly on his own. That was an achievement that trumped all others achieved. Suddenly, a wide smile crept along his face, Okami was just getting started to becoming the strongest person alive.
Now a fully fledged journeyman ninja, Okami was actually doing missions of relative importance. Here he was able to use his skill and experience to garner a track record that interested those above him. At first the man was accompanied by other ninja as is the standard in an assault squad, yet that didn't sit well with the young man. All they did was make the mission take longer for then it came down to logistics, planning, and otherwise unnecessary conversation. Plus the added weight of having to carry those with weaker bodies through the tough portions. For many, that would probably be embraced. One would even go so far as to gain an ego or reputation as the 'tank'. A small reward for their troubles. However, Okami wasn't like that. He wanted to push himself harder so that only he was rewarded for the effort. These other ninja weren't as serious when it came to work. Lacking conviction meant they were just trash to be used on the road upward. Requesting to go on missions alone, he was finally granted permission to do so as his record had been overly impressive thus far. With time even these missions became a bore for the man who had proven time and time again his reliability. Inside he craved to carve his own path in the world, yet how to do so was the question without a plausible answer. For awhile, the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist had been left amuck. So without any real ceiling to strive for, he felt trapped doing the repetitive missions needed to stay afloat in the village. What about the wealth of his family? Okami thought that made him lesser so instead opted to make his own fortune awhile back.
Swiftly, Okami rose above his peers to reach the coveted position as a veteran ninja, otherwise known as a Jounin. Yet again, Karasu failed to attend the ceremony. That had been an expected outcome now. The two had grown estranged by this stage only really meeting on occasion to catch up on things in relation to the family or village. So when the news reached Okami of the death of his father, he was rather taken back. In the back of his mind he still felt like they had time to... fix things. Karasu had until recently been a prominent member of the upper echelons of the village. At least until his death which ultimately slandered the man's name to the ground. Karasu was slaughtered like an animal on the orders of the current Mizukage; Kyuo, Kai for plotting against the current administration. This reasoning behind the butchery felt like it came straight out of a novel. A complete conspiracy thrown in almost randomly. From information on hand, it seemed the council had come up with an idea to remove the Mizukage by force, yet failed in the attempt. The whole thing sounded ridiculous, however the man had always been important to Okami. So when that word reached Okami, it was almost like being stabbed by the same knife. Kirigakure had taken from Okami the only person who he had truly cared for. The action was a reconfirmation as to why Okami needed to find his own path in life. Leaving the village was the correct course of action, yet these were still his people and that would go against everything he had been taught over the years. The idea was now firmly planted within his mind, there would be no turning back from that route, especially after this incident.
With no official funeral for the former warhorse of the village, the Karagata family that were close to Karasu paid tribute to the man on the ocean through a small ceremony while on route to trade with a foreign country. The ocean was the very place that had seemed to call Karasu. The realization set in now, Karasu was never around because in essence the man was following his own path. A path that had never been compromised even after death. Karasu died doing what he believed was best for himself and the village. In that line of thought, the man died an honorable death. For an old timer at least he died in combat. One couldn't ask for anything better than that. Standing silently, Okami lifted the former SSM members blade upward and rested it upon his shoulder. The blade had been left to the hulking giant as with the fortune. Nonetheless the only thing Okami took was the blade, leaving the inheritance to be consumed by Karagata family. Okami would carve his own path now, seeking out stronger threats so to further his own power. For only strength and raw power can assure total dominance...

Weaponry and EquipmentShow
Kraken's FangShow
A massive sword, weighing roughly around 380 lbs. The total length of the weapon is 75" with the blade alone being a good portion of that length at a staggering 55", leaving 20" for the hilt. Thickness of the blade is also quite absurd, coming in at 2". Without a doubt, being hit with this weapon is most likely going to hurt. A utter marvel to look upon, one would be hard pressed to find this kind of quality within the village as this exquisite blade was handcrafted long ago during a golden age. This blade has been tied to the Karagata family since they rose to power. Appropriately named, the blade alone is capable of absolute devastation. A peculiar trait of the blade is that it is chakra sensitive with latent hidden potential. Without further analysis the blade doesn't do anything out of the ordinary. The weapon is strapped firmly upon Okami's back when not needed.
Tendril of the OceanShow
An exquisite spear weapon made personally for the giant during his time in Kirigakure. This weapon system consists of a pole with three segmented parts. Each segment is roughly two feet long. The entire shaft is made up of carbon steel and hollow, with a 30' long steel cable running through the center of all three. The pieces interlock with a single twist of the hand or break down just as simply. However, once the cable is pulled and set, the tool does not break down without extreme force. The head of the spear is an 18" long double sided triangular blade with a 8" cylindrical shaft that can be wielded as a short sword, or snapped onto the spear head and used as a full weapon. This spear is kept strapped firmly upon his back when not needed.

Body ExpansionShow This body modification grants the user the ability to freely convert the calories they store in their bodies into chakra to be used to expand parts of, or, their entire body. Most of these techniques rapidly consume the user's chakra during use, and maintaining them during a prolonged battle can be exhausting in comparison to other chakra fueled techniques. For this reason the user requires an above average stamina pool to fuel them without hindrance. Additionally, the added mass doesn't actually increase the user's strength but due to the increased weight the force required to counteract is usually greater. This simply means that if one couldn't naturally lift the weight then generally they would end up crushed instead of just counteracting the force applied naturally when not enlarged. With natural force in the form of strength and the added weight, the user is usually able to crush anyone in their path. While active, the user may not use genjutsu or ninjutsu, not related to the ability, for channeling is required to maintain the expansion. During an expansion, the user may channel to increase the size of an additional portion of their body if desired. These expansions can be cancelled at anytime, returning the user back to their original size. The size increased by expansion jutsu is in direct relation to the rank of the technique used. With high ranking techniques being able to make the user bigger than low ranking techniques. |
