  • Face/head: Soft, round hazel eyes peer from beneath long dark lashes. Deep brown hair folds around her features, the ends curling around her collar bone and bangs accentuating her eyes. She has a slightly crooked button nose and a slim face.
  • Body: Though still slim, Tsubaki has put on some weight and muscle in recent years, finally reaching adulthood and losing any lingering baby fat. Her skin boasts a warm tan that comes from spending most of her time living outside. She has several crooked fingers from breaks that never healed correctly.

Clothing/Accessories: Her clothing stays simple with solid color pants, shorts, and shirts depending on the weather. She prefers to wear black pants or shorts, never shorter than her knees and usually close fitting so as not to impede her movements. Green is her favorite color to wear on top but she’s not picky about style or color. When the weather is colder or raining she has a large oversized black jacket that she wears that goes to her knees and can accommodate her med pack.

  • General: More than anything, Tsubaki is known for being kind and quiet. She has a pleasant disposition generally speaking, choosing to see the good in others and working hard to get along with everyone when necessary. Despite being incredibly kind, Tsubaki is not what one might call friendly. She won’t typically interact with those she has no reason to interact with, the main and usually only exception being someone in need of medical attention. In social situations she is capable of putting on a good face and a show of someone who is relaxed and easy-going, despite neither of those things being true.

    When it comes to her loved ones, Tsubaki sheds what remains of her shyness and timidness and becomes a fierce protector. Her concerns for herself usually come last, always placing her friends and family above all else. Any threat against her family is guaranteed to bring out the temper that she tries very hard to control, and usually controls very well. But once her control on it starts to slip it all goes downhill very fast.
  • Hopes/Dreams: Tsubaki hopes to find out who she truly is and dreams of being able to live a peaceful life, protecting those she loves.
  • Fears: Her biggest fear is losing the family she chose for herself.
  • Combat Mentality: Tsubaki prefers not to fight at all but if she has to she prefers things to be as clean and quick as possible. She works well with others, preferring to play off of their strengths.

This small figurine is capable of providing essential aid to any combat medic. By placing the item on the ground and channeling chakra into it, a small dome of water with a radius of 2 meters can be created. This water is highly saturated with oxygen and humans are able to breathe within the dome without issue. Any being entirely within the dome is unimpeded, but attempts to enter or attack into the dome will have their attempts resisted with 16 strength. This defense protects a combat medic from the dangers of a battlefield, keeping them safe while they provide aid to a wounded comrade.

Once created, the dome of water lasts for four posts before dissipating.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will spray water created from the inside of their chest through their mouth. Once the water is expelled, it will form an umbrella shape that is concave to the user and about two meters in diameter. This defense is somewhat solid and can be formed in any direction the user can spit, up to 10 meters away. The defense is shot at [Control] Speed and has [Control] Strength and unless completely destroyed it lasts for three posts before falling lifelessly to the ground.

Created to safely incapacitate opponents, after performing the correct hand seals, if the opponent is within 25 meters and is standing a top a body of water with the user's chakra in it, the user will begin to churn their chakra causing the water to turn into a vortex and engulf the opponent, trapping them in a vortex about two meters in diameter. Once the target is inside, the user must hold the last seal and cannot use any other techniques, capable of holding this for up to five posts. In order to escape, the target must have at least [Control] strength to physically make their way out, or the user must be disrupted. Most shinobi would pass out after two posts due to a lack of oxygen. However, if a target possesses an Endurance stat higher than 10, it would require three posts for them to pass out. Should the target possess an Endurance stat above 20, it would require five posts for them to pass out, but anything higher than 30 would allow them to resist passing out altogether.

Once it has been created, the user can launch the three-meter diameter projectile towards a target at [Control] Speed and Strength for up to 40 meters. Following the head is a long body and tail, stretching nearly six-meters. During the course of it's travel, the user may alter the course of the dragon three times, allowing it to complete a U-turn per alteration.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will expel a large amount of water from their body as a sweeping defense against hostile techniques. The water from the technique forms a cylinder around the user at [Control] Speed, and flows around the user. It is approximately 7 meters around and 2 meters thick, leaving only the top unprotected. The wall has the ability to deflect things with [Control] Strength, but even if something break through, the walls thick nature makes traversing through the water fully troublesome. The wall lasts up to three posts unless dispelled earlier by the user or destroyed.

After performing the correct hand seals the user is able to spew a large ball of water that stands at three meters in diameter. This ball rolls forward at the desired target up to 40 meters away and at [Control] Speed. Should this strike the target, they will become engulfed within the sphere. However, if this manages to strike multiple targets, it will envelop them as well, up to a total of 3 prisoners. One can resist being pulled into the ball if they have a strength higher than [Control]. The trapped targets will spin with the sphere and may become nauseated and dizzy from the disorientation. The technique lasts for a total of 4 posts before bursting.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will create a pressurized blade of water in their hand. The blade is approximately 1/2 meter wide and 2 meters tall, resembling a larger sword. The pressurized blade of water has [Control] Strength and may fire half-meter long blades of water with [Control] Speed and Strength. It lasts for 4 posts or until destroyed.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will hold their hand out to a body of water. The water begins to swirl around and form into 5 3-meter long sharks similar to Great Whites. The sharks will swarm towards opponent's who stand on the body of water with [Control] Speed and ravage them with [Control] Strength. These sharks last for 5 posts before dispersing back into water.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will flow chakra into their heel. When they next slam their heel into the ground, a massive 25-meter diameter geyser will shoot up from the ground directly in front of them at [Control] Speed and Strength for up to 60 meters. The sheer force of the water alone is dangerous, not to mention the gravity of it all falling back to earth.

The user will channel the needed chakra throughout their upper body (torso, arms, hands, face) at [Control] Speed. This chakra will chew away at harmful bacteria and other foreign bodies on the skin, cleansing it until it is thoroughly sterile, and can be spread to objects, most commonly surgical tools. Users of this technique can also choose to sterilize certain parts of their upper body or the wounds of another person instead. Once they are sanitized, they remain this way until coming in contact with more bacteria.

A technique used by medical shinobi to deduce what is going on with a patient. They will perform a hand seal and green chakra will cover their hands. From there, they may place them upon a number of patients equal to their [Chakra Pool]/2. Their chakra will travel through the patient at [Control] Speed before coming back to them and allowing the medical shinobi to be able to tell their patients temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and heart rate for as long as they have chakra.

When real latex equipment is not on hand, the user will perform a single hand seal and will focus chakra onto their hands, nose, and mouth to form a thin layer of chakra around them at [Control] Speed and Strength. This chakra will filter bacteria and other particles to and from the user, the environment, and their medical equipment. This technique can be held as long as the user has chakra.

After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will place both over the target's chest or back. By allowing the chakra to be channeled throughout the lungs and up through the air ways, any unseen, solid or liquid obstructions will be cleared from these passages and ejected through the mouth, allowing the patient to breathe more easily. Additionally, the hands can be placed over the heart to stimulate it as if it was manually receiving CPR.

*[Iijutsu • Blood Clot Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After focusing chakra into their hands, the user will hover them over the bleeding wound and begin to channel chakra through it. The chakra will began to thicken the blood, causing it to clot at [Control] Speed. Wounds can be dealt with one limb at a time and the number of wounds that can be tended to within the three (3) posts that this technique lasts depends on their size. Although this technique stops the bleeding, the wound remains vulnerable and will require further care after this has been performed.

*[Iijutsu • Bandage Technique]

The user may channel chakra into an object (such as a leaf, piece of cloth, etc.) in the absence of bandages to sterilize it and is able to apply it to the wound of a patient. Once applied, the selected object will adhere to the flesh around the wound, protecting it from bacteria and other harmful foreign bodies. Wounds covered by this jutsu not only are safeguarded against bacteria but also applied an antiseptic and burn ointment to further provide aid.

The user will channel chakra into their hands and then place them over a group of muscles. Their chakra will spread through the muscle group at [Control Speed and numbness will begin to creep throughout it, beginning with the flesh before seeping into the muscle below. This numbing begins where the user has placed his/her hands and spreads outward until the hands are removed. The numbness can only cause pain equivalent to being stabbed with a kunai to be nullified. Once numbed, the effects last for four (4) posts before fading.

*[Iijutsu • Basic Antidote Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
The user will channel their chakra and then make a small incision on the patient before placing their hands over the new wound. As this chakra is channeled into the body, the poison is extracted and contained in a green orb of chakra in the user's palm at [Control] Speed. Once extracted, the liquid poison will be suspended in the containment orb. Their chakra then mutates the poison at [Control] speed and rearranges it into an antidote. This antidote is effective on C-rank or lower poisons and induces immunity to the specific poison the patient was ailed with for 7 posts.

*[Iijutsu • Blood Transfer Technique]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
The user must make small incisions into the patient and donors' bodies to open a vein. Once the vein has been opened, the user will begin to channel chakra into the donor and the patient at [Control] Speed. The patient's blood pressure will increase and stabilize itself while the donors blood pressure will decrease due to the transfer of blood. No more than 1 liter (2 pints) of blood can be transferred using this technique without repercussions such as fainting, loss of sensation, anemia, and death. In the event a donor is not available, the user may act as the donor. This also acts to allow the donor and patient to be a synthetic match so as to not send the patient into shock. This technique does not transfer KKG permanent or otherwise to the patient.

*[Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
The user performs a short set of hand seals and then will gently place their index finger at the base of the patient's wound. Once this is done, the user will lift their finger and touch it to the other side of the wound, causing a visible 'stitch' of chakra to appear and hold the wound together with [Control] Strength. This is repeated until the wound has been pulled together. Actions performed with more [Strength] or [Speed] than the [Control] used to create the stitch will destroy it.

This particularly disturbing technique is typically utilized by medical-nin operating covertly. After obtaining a dead body, the user will channel chakra into the deepest layer of skin to carefully remove the facial skin from the underlying tissue. Once this has been done, the user will focus their chakra into the separated skin before applying it to his/her face. As this chakra makes contact with the user's skin, the skin cells will bond, creating a seamless mask. This new face remains stable for up to three (3) threads before it will begin to rot.

By focusing chakra throughout the body, they will slow their heart beat, lower their temperature, and decrease the amount of oxygen needed while stationary. The user can hold this for [Chakra Pool]/2 and to the untrained eye, they will appear dead.

*[Iijutsu • Burn Heal]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
The user will channel chakra and then place their hands over the burned area. The chakra works its way to the deepest layer of the burn at [Control] Speed and begins to cool, numb, and repair the area to prevent harmful, scar-producing blistering in the affected area. This relief downgrades the burn grade by one tier and numbs the affected area.

*[Iijutsu • Chakra Scalpel]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
The antithesis to the famous *[Iijutsu • Mystical Palm], the infamous *[Iijutsu • Chakra Scalpel] is no precision instrument. The user will channel chakra into their palms before attempting to place them on a target. If the user is able to connect the entirety of their palm, the chakra will be released into the opponent's body at [Control] Strength. If cast with 34 [Control] or less, this chakra will slice through thinner body tissues, such as arteries, ligaments, tendons, or veins with ease but cannot slice thicker tissue such as that found around organs, up to 4 inches from the surface in an area roughly the size of the user's hand. If cast with 35 [Control] or more, thicker tissue can be sliced through. The skin remains unblemished by this technique, as it only causes internalwounds. The chakra used in this technique is highly visible when first activated and emanates from both hands for a duration of three (3) posts or until contact with the opponent is made.

*[Iijutsu • Paralysis Removal]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
The user will channel chakra to their hands and then apply them to the affected area. As this chakra interacts with the temporarily lame muscle tissue, it will restore natural mobility to the area. This lowers the paralysis effects of jutsu and poisons by 2 posts.

*[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
The user will begin to channel chakra and then direct it through the area of the fracture. As this chakra makes contact with the bone, it will stimulate the calcium production of the body and begin to mend the bone. Users should beware that, like other regenerations of this kind, the nutrient stores of the patient's body are being depleted during its use, and too many uses of this technique in a short span of time can cause serious damage.

One of the almighty and most highly coveted abilities of medical-nin, the *[Iijutsu • Mystical Palm] technique allows its users to heal wounds quickly and efficiently. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will place them over the wound in question and begin to channel chakra through it. As the chakra interacts with the cells and tissues in the area, the wound will begin to regenerate and heal over until there's no remnant of it ever being there.

*[Iijutsu • Antidote Technique]

The user will channel their chakra and then make a small incision on the patient before placing their hands over the new wound. As this chakra is channeled into the body, the poison is extracted and contained in a green orb of chakra in the user's palm at [Control] Speed. Once extracted, the poison will be suspended in the containment orb. Their chakra then mutates the poison at [Control] speed and rearranges it into an antidote. This technique must be cast with a [Control] equal to or above the [Control], [Strength], or rank bracket (D=1, C=10, B=20, A=25, S=35, S(40)=40, etc.) of a poison (as appropriate) to be effective. A poison which is destroyed is done so immediately. Antidotes created from this technique slow the effects of a poison after administration by 2 posts and fully rid the subject of the poison after three posts.

*[Iijutsu • Immunitas]

This advanced technique can be used immediately following successful application of the *[Iijutsu • Antidote Technique]. Once an antidote has been concocted, the user applies additional chakra to make it especially potent. The increased potency not only quickens the curing process by one post, but on the third post after administration induces a permanent immunity in the target to the poison in question. This immunity can only be overcome by increasing the potency of the original poison to beyond the potency of the associated *[Iijutsu • Antidote Technique] used to create the antidote.

*[Iijutsu • Secret Healing Injury Destruction]

The user will channel chakra into an area of their body they are aware will be hit before the strike connects. Any damage to the area will immediately begin to regenerate, be it a bruise, fracture, or extensive wound. However, during this regeneration process, users are not rendered immobile and can continue to fight while their wounds regenerate.

Revered for its outcome but cherished for its effects, the *[Iijutsu • One's Life Resurrection] technique is performed by highly skilled medical shinobi in times of emergency. To begin, the user will focus chakra into their hands and follow by placing them on the chest of a body which had perished within the current thread. By transferring not just their chakra but life essence into the dead body over the course of one (1) post, the user is able to resurrect it at the expense of his/her own life. However, if the patient in question is only fatally injured but not quite dead, the user of this technique will not transfer all of their life essence and can live through the use of this technique. If this occurs, the user will be rendered unconscious for five (5) posts following. This technique cannot be used more than once per thread.

When faced with multiple patients, one who has mastered this Discipline is able to rapidly assess multiple patients and determine priority of their individual injuries and determine which require the highest priorities and which can survive with delayed care. An additional benefit of this Discipline is that one who has mastered it is always able to determine whether a patient is alive or dead unless they are under the effects of equal or higher technique designed to make them appear dead.

Through the use of acupuncture and their knowledge of pressure points, the user is able to quickly apply a series of pricks, leaving the needles in, that dulls pain in localized areas of the body or even the entire body. This method only isolates pain receptors, not other receptors, allowing someone under the effects of this technique to continue to function. The pain dulling effects will last for up to 5 posts, at which points the needles will have to be removed and then replaced.

One who has mastered this discipline has an near unparalleled comprehension of anatomy and physiology. Much of this knowledge extends into the biology of non-human species as well, though with less precision. This discipline, combined with enough accuracy, can turn even the simplest of attacks into a fatal blow.

In the event a patient has passed, in some cases it is possible to resuscitate the patient. Most major injuries must be first treated, as any untreated injuries would simply cause the patient to perish after resuscitation. Should the injuries be treated and this technique be initiated within 2 posts of the target's death, the user will applies pressure to a series of pressure points and begin CPR, bringing the patient back to life. This technique will inevitably fail if not initiated within the 2 post period.

A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Through the use of needles, the user will target a series of pressure points on a targets back or chest, using it to stop signals from being transfered through their nervous system. This prevents movement, causes full body paralysis from the neck down in their patient, and dulls all pain receptors as well. While the technique has effective medical purposes, it can also be used in combat. The paralysis lasts for 4 posts before fading, at which points the needles must be removed and replaced to perpetuate the effect.

Life In the VillageShow
Tsubaki was always the person least likely to abandon her village for a life of running around aimlessly, looking for something more. Both of her parents were Shinobi and Tsubaki was never really given the chance to do anything else which is what most likely started the series of events that led Tsubaki to leave her village behind. It wasn’t that she was completely against joining the Academy but she would have appreciated being asked. She drew much attention in the Academy due to her sweet nature and endearing attitude. Most teachers thought it would eventually go to her head but much to their surprise, Tsubaki always took the attention in stride and stayed very much grounded.

To the surprise of herself, she excelled in the Academy and merely claimed it was genetics when she was praised on her fast learning. The first clue that led Tsubaki to believe she was in the wrong place was her lack of conviction for learning any one thing. All it took was one student praising one style or weapon for Tsubaki to try her hand at it, thinking that maybe that was where her passion was. Without fail, though, it wouldn’t work out and she would move onto something else. This left her average with nothing special to show for all of her work except for a strong ability to predict what others were going to do.

Her well-rounded ability was what enabled her to be able to graduate to a Genin. She had entertained mild hope that her parents would let her quit one she graduated. It was more than enough for her but it didn’t seem to be enough for them. She was thrown onto a team of Genin she didn’t know and was forced to make nice and constantly train. The one thing her parents could never say was that she did anything half-heartedly. She didn’t want to train but she did and she threw herself into it. Her strength intensified and so did her brain as she studied what others did and how they worked. As expected her team loved her and unbeknownst to her, the two young gentlemen on her team had childhood crushes on her. Their advances were no use though, no matter how obvious they were, Tsubaki never understood their game and thought them as only being polite.

Constantly encouraged to choose a style and become more specialized, Tsubaki resisted it. She was already being forced into something she didn’t want, a lifestyle she didn’t choose and the last thing she wanted was to try to develop a style that would only take up more of her time. She did just fine with her basics even though her parents would beg to differ. To make them happy, she did branch off into Iijutsu, knowing her team needed someone with medical knowledge. With her sweet attitude, the role fit her well but the extra work did nothing but harden her further against the village she was supposed to love.

By the time the Chuunin exams came around, Tsubaki was the best member of her squad. No one knew her distaste for the life though and she couldn’t blame them as a smile was only seen on her face. The Chuunin exams were the last straw though. The level of fighting, the pain, the blood, and the general aspect of what the rest of her life would be finally caused the realization to appear that the only way out of this life was to leave. Her parents wouldn’t listen to her, she had been trying for years to make them listen. No, it was time to take things into her own hands. Her team passed the exams, of course, and given their level of skill were sent on gradually harder and harder missions. Still constantly faking her good attitude, Tsubaki started watching and waiting for the perfect moment to leave, to go experience something new.

Months and months after passing exams, the perfect opportunity announced itself. Sent on a retrieval mission far outside the gates of Kumo, there would be no better time. The Genin they were bringing home was easy enough to catch and Tsubaki thought it a fair trade – him for her. He actually managed to badly injure one of her teammates before they had him under control. Shouting that she needed supplies to help her wounded comrade, she ran off into the woods and just didn’t stop. They were near enough to the country line that she would be long gone before her group reached home, considering one wounded and one to keep an eye on the Genin.

It was days before she stopped running, ending up somewhere in the midst of Bear Country eventually. Her nerves were shot and she was exhausted and dirty, but she felt free. She didn’t stop though, she was too close for comfort. After resting for a day or two she continued moving, making her way through the small countries before eventually making it to Tea Country where she finally felt as relaxed as she could feel. She had heard things during her early travels of being hunted but she blended in enough that no one ever got close. She couldn’t imagine being followed all the way to Tea Country but she couldn’t know for sure. It was where she stayed now, still on edge and unsure of what to do with herself. She had no idea what she was doing and she was too nervous to travel far. Her pride and anger at her parents were the only things stopping her from going back at the moment.
Life After the VillageShow
In the early days of being out of Kumo and trying to settle down, Tsubaki got on a ship bound for some far off country. She didn’t care where it was going, only that it was taking her further away from Kumo and everything she hated. It was only by her own poor luck that she got trapped on the ship from hell. The ship of the damned.

A missing ninja from Konohagakure no Sato by the name of Enma had chosen her ship to terrorize. He had taken a particular interest in her. Seemed to be amused by her attempts to protect the boy she had fallen for. Despite everything though, Tsubaki had been unable to make a difference, unable once again to take control of her life. Everyone was slaughtered in front of her before she was knocked out by Enma and taken to an uninhabited island.

On this island, she went through things that she still did not remember. Things came to her in pieces still, certain memories still burned into her brain. Ones that came back and haunted her from time to time. With no memory of how she got off the island, Tsubaki had woken up back in Tea Country. Back where she started. After doing a few patch jobs on the street and realizing it wasn’t working, Tsubaki picked up a job helping out at a local dive bar in exchange for board and food. It was here that she met Akio.

Coming in for drinks with a portion of his crew, he had taken a liking to her after she stood up to him. She had taken a liking to him as well. Despite being a big bad bandit, he was kind to her. He offered her a place in his crew and she accepted, despite the anxiety over it. It wasn’t an easy transition. She had been scarred by what happened to her and it took her a long time to warm up to the crew but it happened, slowly. Especially when the camp’s current medic, Shirai, took a liking to her. His goofy personality and constant teasing aggravated her and brought her out of her shell. Bringing them closer together.

Together with the crew, Tsubaki has been through a lot. She has saved and been saved. Been put in more danger than she would have ever have imagined but she would never change anything. Despite the danger, despite the struggles, the fighting, the arguments, Tsubaki is home when she is with Akio and Shirai and the crew. Between the kidnappings and the fighting and the hiding of her budding romance with Shirai...she knows that she could never leave them.
