She doesn't see herself as having room for friendships while her family is in captivity.
  • Hopes/Dreams: rescue her family, honor her father's death and memory, learn to be a badass mage

History

Her dad was a missing ninja from a village. He ran away with his wife and newborn daughter. They settled down and had a family, with the father working as a scribe. He taught her his trade so she can read and write, but he didn't teach her about chakra. Instead, he prepared a book that would reach her, but only after she unlocks chakra. One day, when snow covered mountains in the passes, blocking all incoming and outgoing travel, except by those skilled enough to traverse the dangerous hunting trails, her village was attacked by hunters and slavers from her father's village. Her father sacrificed his life to make sure that she got away. She has now dedicated her near future to rescuing her still alive mother and sister from the slavers. But she cannot do it alone. And she cannot do it with her current tools. Unbeknownst to her, her father has hidden the keys to hey custom magic style within his grimoire: his last gift to her before he gave his life to save her. She is determined to honor her father's memory and unlock the secrets of the grimoire but she will need a teacher. Her father never intended for her to learn alone. The grimoire was merely a study tool to aid her while he instructed her. But now with no remaining options and her families captors widening there lead every day, she will learn from who's whom she can.

The only reason the attack succeeded, was because they struck when only women, children, and the village scribe–Zendra's father, were in the village. Upon returning, immediately set out to pursue the captors, following their trail as quickly as possible. But then Dara's uncle, one of the only Village members who knew her fathers true past, tells Zendra that the men will never catch the slavers. Based on Zendra's description, he believes where in fact from her father's old Village. Zendra knew nothing about her father's history, except that he was not originally from this village. She thought that was where he learned to be a scribe. Her uncle, deciding that it would be disrespectful to his dead brothers memory to do so, instead opted to include Zendra in his effort to hunt down the captors and rescue her family.
